Simple rooms with sea views in a relaxed hotel offering free sunloungers & umbrellas on the beach.
I have so many great things to say about this hotel. It was super clean and the staff was incredible. The man who works the front desk, he’s there all day, is kind, helpful, informative and goes above and beyond to make the guests stay. He booked us a boat tour and even helped change our boat back to Athens when we decided to stay an extra day. The breakfast was simple but great with fresh yogurt, fruit and coffee each day. It was perfect for us. The hotel itself is quite new and simple but has everything you need.
The beach is great for families and the water is beautiful. I will be back for sure and would highly recommend it.

What a great place we found to stay, recently renovated, clean minimalistic Cycladic style atmosphere the view of the beach is second to none, quick professional service from friendly personable staff. We had a very good time and recommend this hotel to everyone especially families, with a very safe sandy beach, young children can swim safely in the shallow clean waters, while their parents sunbathe on the numerous sunbeds/umbrellas with prompt beach service. Attached to the hotel,an excellent taverna serving generous portions of delicious traditional Greek food with Souvlaki takeaway facilities too.Easy access to local mini-market,bars ,cafe and other beaches .Enjoy!!

The Temple of Apollo, a historical landmark situated on the scenic Palatia Island, is now in ruins with only its Portara remaining. Originally built in the 6th century and intended to be a grand temple dedicated to Apollo, it was never completed. The standalone marble doorway provides an idea of its intended size. According to mythology, it was on this island that Theseus left his love Ariadne after slaying the Minotaur in Crete.
This can’t be missed on a visit to Naxos. It is a stunning huge marble gate situated near the Harbour. We visited in early May on a bright sunny day and we were fortunate to have the surrounding area to ourselves. It is fenced but only close up so you have plenty of space to wander around it. No cost to visit.
This marble gate is the remaining part of an unfinished temple of Apollo of 530 BC, is the island’s emblem and main landmark. Apparently the four parts of the gate weigh about 20 tons.
We are hoping to go back to see it also at sunset before we leave.
Sue Vogt-Skard — Google review
A beautiful place to take a sit and admire the sunset 🌅
Definitely I’d you want good pictures you must go there. The environment is good, the views are incredible and the see looks perfect 🤩
Definitely you have to visit it within the first days during your staying here
abraham barragan — Google review
Absolutely stunning in the evening. Definitely make part of your visit walking up and seeing this in the sunset.
Partially built temple where only the giant doorway remains standing. Honestly I'm thankful they never finished it because the doorway Infront of the sunset is beautiful.
Go earlier or later to avoid the crowds
Charles — Google review
This is the only building from antiquity that remains in the town of Naxos. There isn't much to see though, just a doorway and some foundation stones. It isn't exactly impressive, though its location commands attention. The sunsets here are particularly beautiful, but expect around a thousand tourists to want to view and photograph them
Robert Chomicz — Google review
We went at roughly 10AM and it was cloudy sky's and really windy but it is just simply gorgeous once you're up there.
You gotta walk across a little path and pray to Poseiden not to splash you with his small cresting waves.
And the walk back to the city is also STUNNING! Very very very picture friendly at all angles.
Lasty, it's not stroller / wheel chair friendly but you can leave it right at the bottom and head on up either it. Very safe.

Naxos is a lovely Island. Visited June 2023. Quiet, clean, lovely beaches. Can recommend restaurant 520. Lovely food. Definitely would return here. Visited on small cruise boat. Climbed the hill to the Temple which was not too strenuous but watched the sunset from the boat.
sheryl stewart — Google review
The most famous and photographic place in Naxos. The only thing that stands is a doorway called Portara, and some ruins at the bottom. I have visited here a few times over the years, and it does gets very crowded at sunset but is a great experience if you are on the island then. Also before it used yo he open but now is cordoned off to prevent people climbing on it.
Angela Orphanou — Google review
There is just something so surreal about only a portera (gate/door) standing from what was intended to be a full temple. According to records it was never finished, for whatever reason. Now it creates a unique subject for viewing, contemplation, and GORGEOUS sunsets. We loved checking it out from different angles, and cannot decided which was best. We recommend it for any time of the day, though especially sunrise or sunset. The wind 💨 does really pick up in the afternoon, so it can get uncomfortable and/or cold 🥶 A light jacket is definitely recommended! EnJOY!
flOriDan Venture — Google review
Can’t be missed if your visiting Naxos. The history behind the temple is that people destroyed the temple but the door (the part that we see now) was to heavy to take away so it had to stay there. The temple is so beautiful in the sunset when the sun goes inside the door.
Young Chef — Google review
A beautiful, peaceful sunset.
On the way, we heard two young men play beautiful music.
There are a ton of restaurants and ice cream joints nearby to visit after visiting the Temple of Apollo - Portara.
Parking is hard to find.
Nehal Patel — Google review
Incredible seeing it up close. Went in the evening the first day and second day went to see the sunset. Suggest if you want to be in front of the temple to see the sunset you need to be there one hour before sunset or earlier. But anywhere you go will be okay. Lots of people so need to be patient with everyone wanting to take photos
liz sakeson — Google review
Worth seeing the most important and iconic landmark of the island of Naxos. Read a little bit about the monument before you visit. Worth seeing during day time but especially sunset.
No entrance it is for free.
Chris Theo. — Google review
The Temple of Apollo in Naxos, known as Portara, is just a short walk from the town and port, offering a serene experience during the winter.
The grounds aren't huge so don't go expecting to have an extensive tour of the temple ruins. Rather take it easy and enjoy the views early in the day or during sunset.
While quiet and reflective during the winter visit, the summer months is a lively contrast, with the temple and its surroundings coming to life with a seaside cafe spot that offers ancient history with a lively vibe.
Ribeye — Google review
Magical, and completely free. Easy stroll up and around. A must-see. Go at sunset for beautiful photos, but it’s also most likely to be crowded at that time.
Stephanie M — Google review
The Portara is a must see when in Naxos! The views here were stunning especially looking back at Naxos. There is barely anyone there during the day during peak season as it’s very hot, but once you get up to the top it’s quite windy anyway. It’s an easy short walk from Chora. Definitely recommend!
Ella — Google review
Probably most famous spot of Naxos. If you want to have it for yourself come during the day and pay attention that you will not be here when ferry arrives. But if you don't mind crowds and would like to feel the atmosphere, sunset time is the best time to be here as crowds come and enjoy music, light and romantic atmosphere.
Žan — Google review
It's been a while since i have been amazed by such monument, we timed it perfectly to arrive at sunset, magnificent view and astounding history, highly recommend it to all
Hosam Toby — Google review
A short walk to the portara is highly recommended and you have a good view on Naxos. You should definitely not miss being up there at sunset time.
Maze — Google review
This site is an absolute beauty. The owner of my hostel suggested that we come around sunset and the views were amazing. Not too busy around late march early April, but still warm enough to walk around without jackets. Amazing!
Elowyn Javor — Google review
It was a nice landmark site very accessible to all who enter the port. Night pictures are advisable too! Not many people around due to the season, so snapped some nice photos in nice weather. Doesn't take long to walk up to temple and take some pictures. No tickets necessary.
Tom Judd — Google review
Ok, this was incredible. Check it out at sunset… amazing…. Check it out at sunrise…. Amazing…. Check it out during the day…. Amazing. And yes, check it out lit up at night… amazing. It doesn’t matter when you go, it’s incredible.

Kedros beach bar
$$$$affordable
Bar
Kedros beach bar is a lovely shoreline spot accessible either by foot in a 20-minute stroll from the port, or through a quick 5-minute bus ride, or even by taking the Boat Bus. The beach itself boasts stunning white sand and crystal-clear Acquamarina water. However, shade options are limited to just two bushes, so it's advisable to bring an umbrella. Keep in mind that if the Maltemi wind blows, it might be impossible to keep your umbrella open.
Beautiful beach reachable by feet 20 Min for us from the port or by bus 5 Min or by Boat Bus.
We loved it white sandy beach and Acquamarina water !
There are only two bushes for shade so bring your umbrella but if the Maltemi wind is blowing no way you can keep it open.
There is a very nice beach bar behind, very fair prices.
You have a walking path that was recently created that takes you to the beach, it is very steep the way back and down so take it into account.
Daniela M — Google review
Lovely beach restaurant and bar ideal for a refreshment or a bite while on Kedros beach for the day.
They have a simple but nice food menu which changes weekly, with local Greek speciality at very fair prices.
We went there twice both times sublime !
Daniela M — Google review
Genuine atmosphere, biological products and friendly treat. We tried a refreshing salad with rocket, figs, oranges and the arsenico cheese giving it a summery personality; great option to the typical Greek salad. Fava and goat were also tasty. If you stay in Kedros beach, it is worth to remain there for lunch or dinner.

Placed next to a magnificent beach with crystal clear waters, this bar is cool, breezy and well stocked.
It allows you to stay all through the day - with nice intervals for a snack and cocktails.
Lillian Tsoukstou — Google review
The food here is much better than what you'd expect from a beach bar or from many restaurants for that matter.
The staff won't be very happy if you just order coffee and spend a long time there. 😁
The prices are quite good: 3 € espresso, 7-10 € per plate of food.
No wifi or 4G signal.

Truly a beach place. Brilliant atmosphere. We arrived by yacht in the bay, and it was like walking into a movie set...

I think it is the best beach in Donoussa...large...shallow turquoise blue......you can reach by boat which departs from port or by walk in 30 minutes from port...
Plumera CH — Google review
The most overcrowded beach on the island. It's big, but with almost 100 people it's really full and you get a lot of screaming kids and uncontrolled dogs. White sticky sand, all seems a bit dirty. At least you can shower there. But there are more silent beaches with more respectful people, look for that!

I loved my stay at George Studios for 8 days. Perfect location a few meters from the beach, close to restaurants and supermarkets and the harbor. The rooms are very comfortable with security doors and quiet windows so it was a kind of luxury. Very clean both bathroom and rooms and the management service very helpful and friendly. I will be back in the future. Thank you.

Such a great location to the beach and other restaurants nearby!
Also love that the staff is friendly and so helpful with all of our questions
Fiona Dang — Google review
Pros: great location, walking distance to shops and beach. Family owned business. On site laundry service available for extra money.
Cons: our room flooded during our stay and we were only offered for it to be “cleaned” when it was obviously a plumbing issue that would re-occur.
We decided to leave and book someone else for our final night. They gave us our money back for the night we left. They advised no other rooms available. I felt they could have done more to assist us during this.
Studio room very small and bed not very comfortable.

The hotel is located a few meters from the beach of Agios Georgios near the city center. I would like to thank the helpful staff and especially Antonis who was there to help us with anything we need. Thus, the rooms are clean spacious and beautifully decorated. if we come back to Naxos we will definitely stay here again.

We visited Naxos many times before but you can't compare any hotel with George studios. Best location, a few steps from st George's beach, a few minutes to the port with restaurants, bakeries etc.It felt like a 5 star hotel.Andonis and his Yaya very friendly and welcoming. Hope we can visit again.

The studios are about a 15 minute walk from the port and in a quiet area right next to the busy part of town. I could throw a rock and hit the ocean.

George Studios by far exceeded my expectations. Absolutely beautiful island with amazing views. Our room was stunning with an incredible view of the entire island. This is the perfect place to stay in Naxos. The owner is so welcoming and greets you with some homemade wine and local cheese and olives. The room we had was very clean and comfortable and newly renovated. We also had a beautiful view. They also offer very helpful recommendations for things to do on the island and will arrange car and bike hire for you.

George’s studios were so lovely! They are situated in a perfect spot 30m from the beach in a quiet area of Naxos town. The studio was perfect for me and my daughter with a little balcony that was so cute! Tony the owner is so friendly and helpful and was so welcoming. I would definitely recommend staying here and would love to come back again one day!
We stayed in the family suite and it was perfect for our family of 5. The hotel grounds are beautiful and well kept and have a spacious area for eating outdoors or playing games. The hotel has a beautiful view of the sea with a sandy beach and bar within walking distance from the hotel. The owner George was kind and helpful. He was a great host helping us determine places to explore and set us up with a great car service! We will be back next time we’re in Greece!

Went to their beach bar at 17:00 and had to pay 20€ for a set of sunbeds with an umbrella which was OK.. As I receive the bill I have noticed that the date of the bill was almost 3 hours earlier.. Then we orderd two cups of coffee and checked again the bill and guess what.. The bill was wrong again. Date of almost 6 hours earlier.. Tax avoidance paradise at its best..

To save you from a long (albeit - worth it) read, I’ll summarize: any future visits to Greece will be to Paros, staying at Paradiso Boutique Hotel. It was by far one of the best experiences we’ve had, from location to hospitality. 10/10.
We had the most incredible stay, with the only downside being we wish we could’ve stayed longer. My husband and I arrived in Paros on a Sunday afternoon. Once the ferry dropped us off at the main port, we easily transferred to a small ferry (basically a water taxi) which transferred us to Marcello beach within 10 minutes. Upon arrival, we walked no more than 8 minutes (along the beach) to Paradiso Boutique Hotel (incredibly accessible!)
Upon arrival, we were greeted so warmly, shown to our room, shown where breakfast would be, and were told if we needed anything at all, not to hesitate to ask.
Owners, George and Filip, quickly started to feel like life-long friends. Both Monday and Tuesday we had dinner reservations in different towns within Paros. Filip was able to offer discounted transportation on both days (a huge win on any of the Greek Islands) and offered informative and meaningful conversations along the way.
On Wednesday, due to strong winds, the boat tour we had scheduled was cancelled. We wound up relaxing at Cabana beach club that day, where we mentioned to Filip we’d love if he could join us. To our pleasant surprise, he arrived with George and friends later in the afternoon where they joined us for drinks, dancing, and a great time. They introduced us to other friends and family, and we soon realized we were welcomed as a part of their local community.
Overall, we are lucky enough to have seen this beautiful island and meet friends that we hope to keep for years to come. It is clear this is not a business, but a passion and love for George and Filips community.

What a wonderful stay at this hotel. George, Phillipe and the entire staff made us feel so welcome. They had great tips on places to go and eat. Helped us with our car rental and mapped out all the places we should see. We loved the location and the beach was perfect. The hotel os super clean and the breakfast is great. The beach bar restaurant in front is great if your in the mood for some music and chair and umbrella rentals are possible , a couple minutes further down are more chair and umbrella rental and quiet atmosphere and also cheaper. There is also places you can just lay on the beach for free. I notice some reviews on the hotel are about the beach bar restaurant and to be clear they have nothing to do with the hotel. The only thing they have in common is beach access which is fantastic and so close so I’m not sure why they would give the hotel a bad review. The hotel also has its own parking lot so no need to try and use the one for the beach bar. We hope to come back and stay again!

My Wife and I booked a room for our stay in Paros, everything was amazing. From beginning to end we felt like special guests here because of the care of George and his staff.
George went above and beyond, he made sure to procure a scooter that was not only safe but brand new, something he does for all his guests. We highly recommended to rent a scooter through George.
Our experience was unforgettable and, we highly recommend staying at the Paradiso if you want a great location with amazing views and only a short ride to Paraikos.
Amazing stay, thank you George and team.

We have spent 3 days in August in Paradiso Boutique. We have really enjoyed our time there. The rooms, the common area and the location of this hotel was great. We are definitely looking forward to going back and would recommend to everyone.
But the best thing about this hotel was the owner. He was very attentive to all our needs, all his recommendations were tailored to our taste. We can not thank him enough!
Seren Alceh — Google review
To celebrate our honeymoon with my wife, we wanted to go to Paradiso Boutique and its beach to have a great time.
Unfortunately, as soon as we arrived by scooter at Paradiso Boutique and its beach, the car park guard made us understand that we were not welcome, what a shame...
This man was probably a member of staff and was aggressive and vehement...
What a welcome....
When we were simply being nice to him
Shocked by such behaviour we turned back to change the beach...
We were able to enjoy our bottle of wedding champagne on another beach...
This is a negative comment, but it is informative to warn future potential clients and also this establishment that their parking attendant deserves to be sacked...
Thank you for your understanding and please put this message to good use.
Parikia, the main port and capital of Paros island, is a prime example of a typical Cycladic settlement. Its unique features include narrow cobbled paths, traditional churches, quaint shops, and houses painted in the classic blue and white colors found throughout Greece's Cyclades islands.
Plaka Beach is one of the most famous beaches on Naxos Island. With crystal-clear waters and a wild atmosphere, it attracts windsurfers and kite surfers alike. The beach is large enough to never feel overcrowded, but with organized areas nearby for visitors to enjoy sunbathing, drinking refreshments, and playing in the waves, it never lacks entertainment.
It's one of the best beaches I have ever seen!
Approximately 4 kilometers, gold sand splashed by the turquoise water, makes this beach a paradise.
I highly recommend Plaka beach to everyone visiting the beautiful Naxos island.

For me, this beach is a dream come true! The sand, the water, and the completely relaxed atmosphere are simply perfect. There are plenty of options to rent comfortable loungers, priced at around €15 per set in September. The charming restaurants, taverns, and boutique hotels nearby add to the overall appeal. It's an absolute favorite of mine!

Excellent beach to relax. Not às crowded, since it’s a little far. Limited places to rent an umbrella and recliners, most places belong to hotels, but there was still recliners available when we arrived. Nice and helpful staff. We will go back
Gilberto Baisch — Google review
The best beach on the island. Super clear water and not so crowded beaches. We rented 2 sun beds and an umbrella for 10 euros in one place and 15 in another. It is super calm and beautiful.
Michelle Polansky — Google review
Why going to the Caribbean when you have the beautiful beaches of Greece so close to us as European?! Plaka beach is our favourite from Naxos together with Agia Anna beach. The beach is extremely long, it takes about 45-60 minutes to walk its full length, and had fine to grainy white sand. On this side of the island the wind is much calmer than more South of the island. From Agia Anna until half the length of the beach you will find some restaurants on the back street with long chairs on the beach. After that the beach gets more natural with occasional hotels/restaurants. Along the beach we have encountered 3 or 4 nudist areas so it is quite a good inclusive beach :)
I highly recommend taking the bus to get there as it was less than 5€ for a return ticket while renting a car will cost you at least 50€/day and very pricey petrol (2€/L). The last bus drops you at about half the beach length.
Philippe Lemarchand — Google review
It' s nice long sandy beach with clear water. Options are to rent sunbeds, or even lay down on your own (do not forget to get a towel), prices are around 20 euros... was windy during our stay. If you are having your own car, it is too easy to find a parking.
Fadi Kaakour — Google review
Plaka Beach is a true gem for anyone visiting Naxos. With its expansive stretch of golden sand set against the backdrop of mesmerizing turquoise waters, it's easy to see why it's a favourite among locals and travellers alike.
The beach is not just about its visual appeal; its waters are calm and inviting, making it perfect for a relaxing swim or to lounge by the shore. Whether you want to sunbathe, take a leisurely stroll, or soak in the serene ambiance, Plaka Beach offers something for everyone.
What adds to its charm is its accessibility. A straightforward bus ride from the town makes it incredibly convenient for visitors to reach this slice of paradise. There is no need for complicated travel arrangements or long journeys.
If you're in Naxos and seeking a beach experience that combines beauty, tranquillity, and ease of access, Plaka Beach should undoubtedly be on your list. It's a delightful escape that promises a memorable experience.

The beach was nice with smooth sand. It was not crowded at all. Was a little chilly in October. Apple Maps gives wrong directions. Need to follow Google Maps or Waze

White sand beach with comparatively less crowd than Prakopios beach. You will also find small fishes near the shore
Giridhar Ganesh — Google review
Beautiful beach, easily accessible by bus. Sand is much finer than Agios Prokopios. Very long beach, with different types of areas. There are areas without chairs/umbrellas, (free to put your towels, umbrellas) areas with a couple of rows of chairs/umbrellas (we paid 10€ for a pair of chairs and an umbrella) and large areas with access to beach bars, beach beds (which are more costly). The street behind the beach is full of restaurants.
Lia Calderone — Google review
The beach is beautiful but also very windy. You can always find a place to spread your towel and lie in the sun or take a paid umbrella and sun bed. Getting there is pretty easy from Naxos town, if you get in by boat. There's bus service to the beach, the tickets cost about 1.25 € one direction. The bus station is right in front of the jetty where the boats stop. The buses are like tourist coaches, so don't be confused. A taxi will cost about 25 euros, because they charge for both ways. The airport is very close to the beach, most guest houses can arrange to pick you up. The many restaurants along the beach are a little pricy but well, this is a tourist area and they only work during the tourist season... If you are with a car, then drive for 10 minutes into town, you'll find local grill restaurants at usual prices and frequented by locals.

We were looking for a beach to spend our last day on Naxos at. We started driving down the coast to see which one would be better. I'm glad we kept on driving until we got to Plaka Beach (although I think we were a bit further north near Maragas.) The water and beach were beautiful! We got some sun beds and enjoyed our day ordering food and going in and out of the water. We even got a massage from some ladies that were walking the beach. This was a very relaxing day at the beach.
Paralia Mikri Vigla, located on the west coast of Naxos, is a popular destination for water sports enthusiasts and adventure seekers. The beach offers excellent conditions for windsurfing and kitesurfing due to its strong winds. Despite being less ideal for weak swimmers, the crystal-clear waters and soft, mild winds make it an exotic paradise. Visitors can enjoy a relaxing atmosphere with few crowds, especially in early June when the beach is less crowded.
Great kite/wind/wing surf spot when the Meltemi visits it. But also other winds would make this an amazing spot. It has a sandy beach with plenty of room.
When it's not windy you could probably have nice relaxing day here.

Nice beach. Plenty of space and not too many loungers compared to the ones closer to Chora. Sea good for swimming.

Among the beaches that we visited on Naxos, this one was my favorite.
It's a great place for anyone who is looking for less crowded spots. In first half of june, there were perhaps 20 people on the whole beach at times. The water is crystal-clear and of a really nice blue colors. Soft sand covers practicaly this whole place.
The only downside is that it can be a bit windy sometimes. Then the place isn't great for swimming, as there are many kite surfers. However, if you're one of them, you're going to enjoy it here.

Nice sandy beach but mainly for surfers and kite surfers. Unfortunately both restaurants nearby are of low quality

Beautiful sandy beach but really popular with surfers and kite surfers so not safe for swimming unfortunately…

It was a great beach but unfortunately due to kite surfers I couldn't enjoy it to the fullest.
The Cave of Antiparos, located about 10km south of the port, is a huge and atmospheric cave that has remained impressive despite past looting of stalactites and stalagmites. Visitors can descend the 400-plus concrete steps into the well-lit cave to experience its enthralling atmosphere. The cave is known for ancient graffiti from past visitors, with one dating back to 1776. It's recommended to beware of the climb out!
Great fun.
Approximately 400 stairs to go down and then again up.
You can see everyone exhausted after getting out. Very nice cardio test.
Beautiful inside, with stalagmites and stalactites.

Really interesting to visit if you can! Lots of walking down into the cave and back up though so be ready with water. Cost 5€ per person in 2022.

Wow, we had quite the adventure at Antiparos Cave! Breathtaking sights and trying not to get blown away by the wind! It's fascinating how those mini rock sculptures stayed intact.
Careful going down the caves steps, I did end up slipping down a few steps but luckily I didn’t get hurt. Going down into the cave was an incredible experience, even though it left us a bit out of breath on the way back up.
Funny story: I accidentally left my glasses on the bottom of the cave and only noticed once it was closed. We had to travel back and forth between Paros and Antiparos the next day to find them. A fellow Canadian was able to grab them for me. So we had quite the journey in Greece, full of memorable moments! 🇬🇷✨

Exciting cave to experience, well worth a visit. Keep in mind it is relatively hard to get back up depending on your shape, even though there are very nice and easy stairs to walk on all the way. Easy parking just a minute from the entrance. Around €20 entrance fee for a family.

Amazing is just enough to describe it. From the port out there is a bus that is taking you all the way up. Entrance is €5
Jeffrey linger — Google review
Oldest stalactites in Europe, dating more than 45 million years old. There is plenty of car parking at the entrance. It is easy to find as there are good road markings and sign. The panoramic views from the site are also very beautiful. Entrance is ticketed and can be purchased on site. There is one way in and same way out route. Lots of steep stairs so be prepared for that.

Truly fascinating cave that is well maintained and easily accessible. Lots of great history and very deep.

Worth visiting(The videos are not doing justice to it). Entry is not allowed for those with heart diseases ,breathing problem, special needs and pregnant women!
The cave was used as a refuge during Neolithic period and later on became a cult place of Goddess Artemis. The cave's entrance is named "prothalamos" antechamber] and is divided in 3 levels.
You get a better view of the cave when climbing up. Climbing up can be exhausting, so take your time and admire the cave more. READ THE TRACT BEFORE ENTERING THE CAVE because it’s like your cave guide!
Ample place to park before getting to the cave;not far and no fee. To enter the Cave, adults pay fee 5€ each, adults over 65yrs old pay 2,50€, children from 6-12years pay 2,50€ and kids are free. If you come in groups of 15 persons, you pay 4€. YOU BUY THE TICKET RIGHT AT THE GATE OF THE CAVE BEFORE ENTERING!
The cave was cool in summer!

Amazing experience. This cave have the most older stalagmite in the world (42 million years old). There is an entrance fee 5 euro that is totally worth it. As you decent you fill the air pressure so if you have difficulty breathing please stay at the upper portion. The temperature down there is constantly 16 - 17 Celsius. The maximum decent is about 100m. Great experience

Ohhhh my GOD!!!!! Amazing that, you are able to get, that up-close and personal, to something 50 million years old. The stairs leading to the bottom of the cave are a work of wonder. A magnificent piece of engineering that intertwines with mother nature’s beauty. Even I, a 60+ year old person with a bad hip and knees was able to slowly walk through the wonderful world of the cave 400 plus steps to the very bottom. There are, Endless possibilities for resting and photographing this amazing place. This is a significant site that you could enjoy time and time again. But if you are only going to visit AntiParos once in your lifetime. THIS IS A MUST SEE!
Gerard Studer — Google review
Such a cool and memorable experience! It was so much fun exploring the cave and looking at the stalactite formations. Just be aware that the climb back up can be quite tiring, but it's definitely worth it if you can handle it. They let us enter for free too (April 2023).

A really cool place to visit while going to Antiparos. Please do keep in mind that you will have to walk a lot of stairs (500) up and down. Sometimes it gets really crowded.
Ticket to the Folklore museum was included in the price but it was closed.

Very cool place. If you visit the island, def check this place out. You do have to take 400 steps down and then 400 steps back up. It’s not accessible to anyone that doesn’t have mobility. Brochure does give alot of information about the cave and it’s history.
Paul Cheema — Google review
The old graffiti is truly the coolest, and it's worth the drive out to the center of the island to check it out. You probably don't need to trek all the way to the bottom to get the full effect of the cave, but it took less time to walk up all those steps than we anticipated. Wear sturdy shoes!
Jessica Griscti — Google review
This is a once in a lifetime experience, if you have the opportunity to visit these caves you will remember it for the rest of your life. Remembered as a temple to the ancient God Artemis, and a site included in the story, The Odyssey. You will feel different the moment you enter and it may change you forever.
Rustic beach with a crescent of soft white sand, shallow turquoise water & 2 tavernas.
One of the best beach of the Aegean. The colours are AMAZING , green to light blue to dark blue at the deeper parts of the beach, just amazing. Very clean waters also. There are not any trees to offer shade so better take an umbrella or something to protect you from the sun. You can reach Pori either by foot or take a boat from the port, the boat needs about 15 minutes to get to Pori and also offers a nice tours of the other beaches of the island. Highly recommended!
Stavros Kairis — Google review
One of my favourites in Koufonissi. Crystal Clear water and white sand. This one is the largest beach available that you can easily reach with the boat from the port or from the other beaches.
The ticket costs 5,00 € and you can use it for the whole day how many times you wish.
The boat passes every 30 min. Pay attention to the wind, as the beach is exposed.
Cristina Senoner — Google review
The most far away beach of the island you can easily reach it by the taxi boat that passes at each hours until 7pm in June in July and Aug seems also later rides.
It is white sandy beach and acquamarina water as all Koufunissi. You also have a beach bar.

Pori Beach on Koufonisia is a true paradise for beach lovers. Beautiful bay but Busy for big sailing boats. With its crystal-clear, inviting waters and powdery white sand, it offers a serene and idyllic setting. The beach is surrounded by natural rock formations and hills, providing a picturesque backdrop that adds to its charm. The relatively secluded location ensures a peaceful atmosphere, making it a great spot to unwind and soak up the sun. Visitors often appreciate the untouched beauty of Pori Beach, as well as the opportunity to swim and snorkel in the refreshing Aegean Sea. Keep in mind that amenities might be limited, so it's a good idea to bring your own essentials. Overall, Pori Beach is a must-visit destination for those seeking tranquility and natural beauty in a stunning coastal setting.

The best beach on the island by far. Best way to reach it is by ferry taxis. The beach is big and even though we were next to each other it didn't feel like we were squeezed together. The water was amazing and clean. There is a taverna near by where you can eat. Don't forget to visit gala (γάλα)
Lalos SAW — Google review
A beautiful place, a paradise nearly undiscovered. There are little beaches near the main "Paralia Pori"; it also has a pretty restaurant/bar, it's the biggest place where you can find shade, because from June to September the Sun during the day is very strong, and sometimes it's very windy. It offers fresh fish every day.
For tourists, you can reach this wonderful beach by bus or on your feet, but I suggest the first option, daily ticket costs less than 5€ and you can reach every place on Koufunisia.

Probably the best beach in the world. Paralia Italida is a hidden gem in the Cyclades, a beach that will make you feel like you are in paradise. The beach is located on the southern shore of Koufonisia, a small and charming island that offers a relaxing and authentic Greek experience. Paralia Italida, also known as Platia Pounda, is a white sandy beach with crystal-clear turquoise waters that sparkle in the sun. The beach is protected from the winds and has a calm and serene atmosphere. The beach is also nudist, so you can enjoy the freedom and natural beauty of the place without any inhibitions. Paralia Italida is a perfect spot to swim, sunbathe, read, or meditate, surrounded by the sound of the waves and the scent of the sea. The beach is accessible by boat from Agali port or by car if you park at Fanos Beach and walk for about 15 minutes. There are no facilities or tavernas on the beach, so you need to bring your water and snacks. Paralia Italida is a beach that will make you fall in love with Koufonisia and its simple and enchanting charm.

In August there's no place to lay your towel, it's overcrowded with youngsters listening to irritatingly loud greek music and playing beach racket. Unfortunately the beauty has been gone. Unless you are a big group of friends aged between 18-25, avoid visiting the island in July and August.

To me Italida is the best beach in Koufunissi! You can both reach it by walking or with the water taxi (5€ for the entire day, leaving from the port). The beach is slightly bigger than finikas and fanos.
Uninhabited island with a rugged feel, attracting visitors for its beaches & dispersed camping.
Wild, pure a bit extreme… you have to spend there a all day walking. Start from Taverna boat stop and go north east, walk towards Hawaii beach, then go to Faraglioni. Spend the afternoon around Paralia Nero in the south

Amazing for free camping!
There are two spots: 1. Close to Venetsanos Tavern 2.At Nero beach
There are frequent itineraries from little boats connecting ano and Kato Koufonisi during the summer season. If you are a free camper you can travel back and forth from the one island to the other for 5euros per weak with one of the two operators (the other one is more expensive , but I don’t remember which one || you can at both booths at the port of Ano koufonisi)

11th-century monastery with a dramatic cliffside location & sweeping views of the Aegean Sea.
Wonderful monastry. If the weather is right this place is just magical. Remember that man should wear long trousers and women need to cover shoulders and knees out of respect. Inside it is really narrow but you can look a the religious pictures and paintings. Prepare some coins for donation. If youre on Amorgos you really should go there!
Fede Ron — Google review
An amazing place with a lot of charm. You have to climb all the stairs to enjoy it but it worth the effort clearly.
Such an atmosphere up there with this majestic monastery on the cliff. Really one of the best thing to do in Amorgos Island. Make sure to visit it 🙌🏾👍🏾

Incredible to see this monastery up close. It was a long climb but we did it in the afternoon and it was a little dark inside, hard to see all the icons properly. I have been told if you do it in the morning there is more light inside the monastery. When we got inside there were people guiding us through as it was busy. When we got to the church part there was a priest answering questions we were then showed to another room and offered water and a sweet liquor. Worth doing.
liz sakeson — Google review
The monastery is a must visit experience for any visitor to Amorgos regardless of religious background.
The sheer amazement of a building constructed over 1,000 years ago can only be surpassed by the effort of constructing it right into the cliff side. Pictures don't do this experience justice, and the monks and staff that welcome guests made us feel welcome and taught us a lot about the area and the monastery itself.
Nate Vance — Google review
Beautiful monastery with awesome views and rich history. They serve the local liquor at the end of your tour. You only get to see a small portion of the monastery so it's hard to imagine what the daily life is like for the monks who love there.
Brynn Harshbarger — Google review
Very impressive monastery worth visiting regardless of your religion as it is curved in a rock.
To approach it is difficult as the way is long and the steps are many.
When you are there they offer you the local "psimeni" and water to welcome you.
Have in mind that you should be there before 13.00, as it closes

Beautiful experience be careful to use proper shoes and not flip flops or Birkenstock and be ready you need to be going up for a good 20 Min for not fit people like us :-)

Must see when you visit Amorgos.
Note that it is a bit of a hike from the carpark to the monastery but it's worth doing. The monks are really welcoming and friendly.
It's free admission but donations are welcome there. You do need to wear certain attire, so no shorts and shoulders need to be covered.
Stunning views on the way up and at the top.

Wandering around — Google review
Stunning location. I half expected it to be a bit over-hyped, but it fully delivers !
Not great for anyone with mobility issues though. The steps up to the monastery weren't as steep as I'd expected, but they're still steep and polished from wear over the years, so can be a bit slippery, especially coming down.
You don't get to see much of the monastery inside, but it's still worth planning your visit to ensure they're open.
If you're walking back up to the Hora, it can be warm work back up those steps / the path !
Woolly Blue — Google review
You leave your car at a parking spot just around the entrance.
Be prepared for 270 stairs uphill, and it can be very tiring. Try to find a day with wind and without extreme heatwave to ensure you won't get too tired. The monastery opens 17.3 and closes 19.00. You are required to wear long skirts and long sleeves for women, and men have to wear trousers and shirts. If you are not prepared, they give you in the entrance pants and skirts so you can go in. The view is worth it all !
Catherine Panteli — Google review
The best known architectural feature of the island is a must when you visit Amorgos. Long trousers are required for men and women need to cover their shoulders and knees but you’ll find pants and foulards there free of use. Please make sure you bring some cash to contribute to the maintenance of the monastery and to appreciate the free entrance and amicable monks that will offer you cold water and raki psimeni when you arrive

Very disappointing, you have to climb a lot of stairs and then you can only get in if you wear the dress code. Inside you can see only a few rooms, but the view is incredible.
You should just head up a bit of the stairs just for the view.
Mystake and Anything — Google review
Amazing piece of architecture. Incredible that it was built into limestone cliffs so long ago. Very welcoming atmosphere. Don't be that person who refuses to comply with the dress code. They provide spare long trousers and long skirts so do the right thing - it's not hard to be respectful :)

Worth visiting, make sure to check the schedule and wear appropriate clothes (pants and t-shirt for men, long skirts and t-shirt for women). In case you are not dressed appropriately, they provide clothes.
Schedule 9:00-13:00 and 17:00-19:00, I would suggest go a bit earlier for pictures without the crowd.
In the end they offer a traditional drink and water.
Chora, the hillside capital of Amorgos, is a must-visit destination on the island. Perched on one of the highest points, it provides breathtaking panoramic views of the surroundings. The town's charming Cycladic streets lead to a picturesque main square adorned with traditional tavernas and a lovely church, offering visitors an authentic taste of local culture and architecture.

Scenic island beach in a rugged locale features a small sandy expanse & clear blue waters.
One of the most idyllic places in the island. Very nice view and the best waters / seabed in Amorgos. Aghia Anna is a must.
The beach is relatively small thought... After 17:00 is usually not crowded, but there is not direct sun at that time (for me it's perfect after 17:00 since I don't like direct sun).

Rocky beach without much space to leave your stuff. Although the view is breathtaking, the whole place is extremely susceptible to winds (and amorgos is a windy island) so you may not be able to swim on such a day.

(Translated by Google) Something like a beach because it is very small and crowded and is aimed at a specific audience. It's best to go without high expectations because then you might be disappointed. It has relatively flat rocks for sunbathing but for me personally only for swimming which is very good, especially if you get a period of calm because then the waters are crystal clear and you can see the very nice bottom, when there is a wave it is nothing special. The left beach, the small Agia Anna, is more picturesque because it also has a small church that is ideal for very beautiful photos. The visit is a must if you find yourself in Amorgos.

Paralia Milopotas is a great beach with plenty of space to relax. Visitors can rent beds and tables or find free areas to set up. The water is beautiful and perfect for a quick dip. While the rental prices may be higher than other nearby beaches, many find it worth the cost. The soft, clean sand and amazing water make it an ideal spot for families. Snorkeling enthusiasts will appreciate the underwater beauty as well.
Had a great time here with my family, the sand was soft and clean, and the water amazing.

Great beach. Lots of room--beds/tables to rent and also free areas to set up. Water is beautiful and perfect for taking a quick dip.
The beds are more expensive (we spent $15) than some of the other beaches near Chora/xora, but worth it. Compared to koumbara beach, this was world's better.
Also, if you're looking to save money, just go buy a pita at a bakery on the main street to eat and only order water/coffee/drinks from the place you rent your chairs from.

This is undoubtedly the best beach in the whole island of Ios! Turquoise, transparent water and a sandy beach surrounded by a barren, wild nature. The most tranquil and enjoyable beach I’ve ever been! Also some water sports going on, if with young family. Paid 10euros for the whole set of sand beds and had lunch at the adjacent tavern at the back ( also very decent prices ). Parking is for free at the back. The only difficulty is getting there … even by car was quite a challenge and should definitely be careful with the silly Google maps directions, which will most probably take you off road ( very dangerous route - make sure you stay on the main road, no matter what Google suggests and avoid driving in the dark ).
P.S Pet friendly beach !

A hidden gem on Folegandros island, And probably the best place to anchor your boat. The water is very clear and turquoise blue, and there is very nice sand on the beach. A number of small restaurants with good quality. You can come here by bus directly from the old town up on the hill. The road is very steep, but you can also walk on a hiking path, if it is not too hot.

Small beach, could get crowded easily. Crystal clear waters. Not organized so be prepared if you need umbrellas etc. A couple of kiosks nearby with coffee and snacks.

The beach is easy accessible by the local bus or a short drive from folegandros city. The water quality is amazing and it's very clean. It is not organised so it does not have sunbeds and umbrellas. If you need shade you will need to make your own arrangements and bring your own umbrella.

Perfect beach in Folegandros. There are couple of restaurants to eat and all of them are really good and fairly priced. Beach itself is also nice, very close to Galifos by walking.
Mehmet KARACA — Google review
Definitely a nice beach to visit. It's probably the most popular one on the island, so you should expect more people than at the rest of the beaches. There are restaurants, tavernas and cafes right behind the beach so you can equip yourself with some water bottles or enjoy your lunch (you should try some fresh fish) after your swim.

I visited by bus from Chora.
It was a windless day and the water was clear.
The shadow of the ship is reflected on the seabed and seems to be floating in the air.
A beautiful place in Folegandros.
The view and the sunset from the church is one of the best in the island, you see the sun setting on the islands across.
As for the church we went up there 2 times and both times closed.
Probably will be open later on in the summer.

Such a beautiful church with the most breathtaking view of the island! We went there in the evening after the sunset and it was such a lovely walking path with panoramic views all the way to the church. The church itself very unique for its architectural style. It was at the time of “ Esperinos” , the evening function of the Orthodox church (taking place at around 20:00) and you could hear the priest singing the hymns! The church was quite dark and atmospheric inside just and the light of the candles. Such a nice experience!

A must see in Folegandros. The hike up the hill is easy and the view quite rewarding. Went again for sunset and it was spectacular.

This church up on the hill is just too beautiful to pass. A 10 minute walk up from the old town gives you amazing views over the town and the cliff over the sea. It is a magical experience, and should be on them must do list for the island. Come here for one of the best sunset views you’ve ever had.

Amazing view and nice sunset. You can go up from a little road either by walking or by bike. The church is also very beautiful, but the place is mostly an Instagram spot! The view to the chora and the sea is mesmerizing.

Iconic. Maybe the best view in Aegean, better than Oia (Santorini) and Monastiri (Anafi). For me at least. I have been married here and it was one of the best moments I have ever experienced. The place is magic.

The climb is not nearly as bad as it looks. It’s a nicely made path, easy to walk. And you can’t come to Folegandros and not do it!!

To echo the other reviews, this church is an absolute must see if you are on Folegandros. As you can see in the photos, it is an amazing spot to see the sunset but the church itself is also just a sight to see!

Worth the walk when the sunset comes down ! You can climb the mountain to enjoy the most beautiful view of the island.

Must-go when you visit Folegandros. The view is stunning!
Katergo Beach in Folegandros is an outstanding and picturesque seaside destination. It boasts a remarkable level of tranquility, being quite remote and accessible either by boat from the port or by a 30-minute drive followed by a short walk. Even on windy days, this beach remains uncrowded, with only a handful of sunbathers enjoying its serenity.
Beautiful, secluded beach with marked trail access. About a 15 minute walk from the trail head to the top of the cliff edge about the beach.
Michelle Hayes — Google review
The most beautiful beach of the island. The water is crystal clear and there is both a sandy side and a stony side. The view from the top is amazing. However to get there you need to walk about half an hour on a steep trail. Definitely need proper shoes as some points are steep. Obviously there is no restaurant or any sunbeds so make sure to bring enough water and an umbrella. You can also visit it by boat which costs about 12 euros.
Marios — Google review
Another nomination for the best and most beautiful beach in Folegandros! The parking is about a half hour (half of it very steep and rocky and I’d say a bit dangerous for kids) away from the water. But the water so clear, not rough waves, warm for its depth but not too deep! If you go to one beach, make it this one!!

Amazing beach. If u like hiking and enjoy sun this beach is for u. From the other hand if you want u can also take the ferry from the Port which takes you there. The beach is super clean and still not over crowded. Be prepared w drinks food etc.

A beautiful beach that’s accessible by boat but also has a path from Chora. It has black sand, pebbles, rocks and a bit of sand as well. You can see and admire the wild landscape and the rocks in the sea. Make sure to go to Katergo when there’s no wind otherwise you will not enjoy it.
Eleftheria Livadarou — Google review
The most beautiful beach on the island. It is easily accessible via boat from the main port they depart at 11 and every hour until 17:00. you can check at the port to make sure for the times and then they also bring you back. There is also a hiking trail but it is around 60min.

Beautiful beach with clean water and very relaxing atmosphere. We went there by the boat that does this route and we paid 12 euros each for the two way trip. The beach doesn't have many spots with shade so it is better to have an umbrella or something to be safe from the sun. I would definitely visit it again!
Elli Korre — Google review
You can reach the Katergo beach by boat or a short hike. We chose the second option and it was totally worth it! You have an amazing view over the Aegean sea, but the last part is a bit steep, so better to wear proper shoes. Katergo is one of the best beaches in Folegandros!

Very nice beach with amazing water.
The way back path may be a bit confusing, but still no issues.
You need roughly 25/30 min to get to the beach by the path.

Katergo is a fantastic beach on Folegandros. It’s quite isolated. You can reach it by boat from the port. If you have a car or a motorbike, you can also drive and then walk for about 30 minutes. I was there on a windy day and it had no more than 10 sunbathers. A must go while on Folegandros.
Skiralos — Google review
Very nice beach even if it’s very windy.
The high is from the road is around 30 min. We did it in Birkenstock sandals without problems. You can also take a little boat from the harbour 12€.
There is no shadow and you have to bring water and food if you are staying for many hours.
Sunset Oia is a tour agency that offers an unforgettable and enjoyable experience. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful throughout the trip. They provide well-prepared and generous portions of food and drinks to satisfy their customers' needs. The breathtaking views of the caldera are stunning, especially during sunset. While the hot springs may not be as warm as expected, they still offer a refreshing swim option. Packing layers for early spring trips is recommended due to colder temperatures on the water.
Amazing trip fully recommend this! Efficiently organised from start to finish. Boat was fabulous lots of space for everyone to chill out enjoy the views with plenty of drinks and cool vibe music. The crew were fantastic friendly and helpful the BBQ dinner was delicious. At the end we slowly watched the sunset which was incredible.

Fantastic time! Crew was professional and fun! Lunch was very filling and tasty, they were sweet to accommodate my allergies. Beautiful boat, relaxing and great music. Definitely recommend!
They did drop us off in a different spot than pickup which was a bit crowded and further away than expected, but overall great time.

Fabulous experience, friendly and informative staff. Well cooked and generous amounts of food and drink. Absolutely stunning views of the caldera, the hot springs were not as warm as expected but well worth a swim.
We were a little cold as it was early spring so I would recommend taking layers.
Highly recommend the smaller group catamarans which feel a lot more special.

We had the BEST time of our lives on this tour. Greece is so special is so many ways but this tour was at another level. We knew it was going to be great from the start when they offered ouzo and we were the only ones that took it. The food was great, the mood was excellent, the weather was perfect, and the experience was outstanding.

We took a sunset tour on the Pardo with Captain Alex and Christina as our stewardess. This was one of the best experiences we could have had and an amazing cap to our honeymoon. Right away, we were met with the highest level of hospitality as we were greeted with drinks and a plate of fruits and cheeses. Both Christina and Alex were attentive to our needs and constantly checked to see if they could do anything to make our experience memorable. They knew the perfect balance between giving us space and offering their insights on the geography and history of the area. The service was top notch and was truly a memorable experience. Highly recommend this duo if you are taking out the Pardo, we wish we could do it again!

Hands-down the best day of our Santorini trip!!
Free pick up and drop off, incredibly friendly staff and crew, delicious food on board, best way to see the entire island, and the sunset... literally to DIE FOR!

We had a great time on the boat trip. We had an Albanian team with the captain named George. They made everything simple. The music was not too loud. The transportation for pick up and drop off was great. We didn’t eat the food but it looked very good. They provide snorkel gear and a towel. Good mix of sightseeing and swimming. No welcome cocktail offered but even though said included. Beer, wine, water and soft drinks only. We would definitely recommend this to others.

Perfect experience in Santorini. Our family of 4 to a private tour with Sunset Oia on the boat "Santorini". The picked us up near hotel and after a beautiful ride, whisked us thru the crowd to our boat. The crew, Isidora and Christopher we fantastic. We went to a few coves and swam, snorkeled , or just floated. We made our way to the volcano and had a great lunch after a swim. When we returned to port, our driver helped us off the boat and escorted us to the van for a ride back to hotel. It was well worth the price, and totally recommend the private tour.
For those who love adventure, it's recommended to avoid shopping and instead head towards the end of Oia. A path leading down to Amoudi Bay offers several seafood tavernas and sailing excursions. To reach the bay, one needs to traverse hundreds of steps that lead down to the water. The coastline should be hugged until a small island with a church comes into view. People can be seen jumping off small cliffs into the Aegean Sea here.
Lovely place, can also be reached with a car, sometimes parking some distance away.
Full of restaurants mostly seafood. There is a nice path from the edge of the pier along the cliff, recommend walking it as much as possible inside. At a staged point there was an avalanche, you can pass over it. In summary, the view from the pier on the restaurants is amazing.
Worth going down even if you will arrive on foot down the stairway.

Beautiful bay with crystal clear waters and probably a nice sunset view indeed but overtaken by tourists. The whole bay is one big terrace. Fine if you like mass tourism but not my cup of tea

Beautiful bay. The seafood is fresh caught and delicious. The trip up and down the stairs is a moderate climb but well worth it.
There is a swimming area if you walk around the cliff but not a beach type. Strong swimmers only.

Many steps to reach the destination, similar to any cliff facing places in the Cyclades. Bring plenty of water and sunscreen during summer. Donkeys are available as luggage porters if you choose to stay near this area. Quaint and peaceful bay away from the dense and busy tourist areas in Oia.

I think this was the best place where to take a swim in Santorini. The beaches in all island were not that nice, if you want to jump from the rocks and see beautiful clean water come here!
Petra Salmaso — Google review
The walk there took some work, the path falls away at some points when heading to the swimming area. We had lunch first, at the bottom of the bay, just light snacks. We spent the day swimming and jumping off of the cliff right out in the water. Two paths up to the jumping point, the rock path looks difficult, but there are handholds the whole way. You can also get up by walking up to the bell tower. A great way to relax at the end of our trip. Definitely swim out into the open water for the view of Oia.

We visited on a Thursday afternoon via a private driver to take a catamaran ride and it was packed. The road is very narrow with cars parked along the way leaving inches to spare for drivers. The following day we took the steps down and ate lunch. It was the best meal we have ever had. The seafood was so fresh and the octopus you see hanging are real. What an incredible dining experience. If you take the steps, wear sneakers or good treaded soles because I saw multiple people slip, and towards the bottom there are donkey piles you’ll need to avoid.
Lauren FitzHarris — Google review
A great spot to watch the sunset and have some drinks. I would suggest the fish tavern for some amazing local fresh food. Lots of sunset cruises end in the bay to watch the sunset and it is definitely a sight to see. If the hike down all 300 stairs seems like much it’s just a short taxi ride down, that’s what we did lol. Not trying to walk those stairs with babies strapped to us.

A beautiful spot on this earth. Crystal clear water and a nice lunch. Only a handful of places, but all seemed nice (we chose Sunset).
You can Uber/cab/van/catamaran back and forth but be prepared for a traffic jam. We actually enjoyed the challenge of the walk down and climb back up (dodging the donkey dung) but it is not for those faint of heart, or bad shoes!

When you are on a cruise be aware. When cruiseschips come in the place gets very crowded. It takes a long time to get from the harbour to the city on top of the mountain. The waiting lines for the Cable car are very long. Expect to wait more than 2 hours. The other way is taking a donkey who will bring you up, do it on food or take a boat ride to another (beautiful) part on the island and return by touringcar. Anyway when these ships come in the place is overcrowded.
The Karavolades Stairs is a popular tourist destination that leads from a hilltop village to a harbor. The stairs are winding and lengthy, therefore comfortable shoes are necessary. While descending, visitors may encounter mules using the same path or standing aside. It takes around 15-20 minutes to reach the harbor, but it's well worth the trip as it offers breathtaking views of the Old Port.
Great views! The cable car was down for service when I went, and most people opted to walk instead of taking a donkey. I also jogged down and back up another day for exercise - 14:30 down and 12:30 up. A slow walk up with several breaks takes around 30-45min. They do clean the stairs daily to remove the donkey droppings. I went at the beginning of April, and it was around 65F. The smell was the same as being in a barn...so I guess if people haven't been around many barn animals the smell can be a little off-putting...Go early in the morning and there are no donkeys and very few other people there - very peaceful!
Joe Hwang — Google review
The stairs are very slippery and I actually fall down on the ground even with proper trainers. As other review comments mentioned there is quite a lot of donkey’s “belongings” so the smell of the stairs is not so good. Luckily I didn’t fall down on it. The donkeys looks so hot under the sun waiting for the tourists… Not a “must visit” place for me in the end.
C Lu (?????) — Google review
Make sure you wear the right shoes since there are a lot of stairs. It took us a good 15-20 mins to go downhill. I recommend taking the cable car uphill. The mules use the stairs as well so they often pass by or are standing on the sides.
TG — Google review
Steep stairs, beautiful view. The stairs can get very, very crowded, full of cruise ship passengers and donkeys. You are out in the sun, no shade, bring water and wear proper shoes.
Wandern Leo — Google review
Those poor donkeys carrying people on their backs look hot, sweaty and exhausted. There was a trail of their blood leading up the stairs, so they're obviously getting hurt while doing so. Please if care about the well-being of the animals don't ride them. Walk up the stairs and pace yourselves, or take the gondola if walking isn't an option.
Britt D — Google review
These stairs are long but well worth the trip down the Old Port. There is a cable car you take up and down as well. We decided to take the stairs down and the cable car for 6euros back up. It was a great decision!
Angie Galindo — Google review
I’ve seen some very negative reviews of the stairway. We walked down in just over 20 minutes. There was a part where passed quite close to standing donkeys, and we definitely had to avoid so donkey poo. But it was much faster than the wait for cable cars.
Brad Fifield — Google review
These steps do feel like they go on and on…but wow what amazing views you get on the way. Well worth the effort. It took us around 25 minutes to walk up, the walk down probably took a similar time.
You will encounter lots of donkeys and pony’s along the way, but they’re no bother. Of course just watch your step as there is plenty of poo along the way too.
Very pleased we took the time to do this over taking the cable car option. We climbed the steps around 9am before the sun came over the top which was much better, it does get hot so a bottle of water is definitely a must.
Enjoy

City is on the top of the cliff. Take the cable car, ride the donkey or climb the 500 plus steps (~1 km or 2/3 miles for ~200 meters or ~650 ft elevation)

The stairs themselves are impressive and definitely a landmark worth mentioning. But I strongly recommend against taking this route during sunny days, especially if you're going uphill. The whole area is exposed to the sun, and especially around noon it can become very difficult. On top of that, there are donkeys going up and down in small herds, sometimes pushing people into the sides of the trail. The handlers don't seem to control the very well. I've seen 2 people injured by donkeys on my way up. Then there's donkey leavings, imagine it in a hot summer day... the smell is unbearable at times. Also, the donkeys are far from comfortable themselves, as they skid over the cobblestone or just stop in the middle of the road. Take the cable car, it's worth the wait.
Catalin Florea — Google review
Serious issues with donkey feces and smell with the stairs. The condition is poor and I am in awe wondering how the local government has allowed the steps to be covered in 90% poo when it's the first thing tourists see entering the port.
Proceed with caution as the smell is unbearable and worse than a public toilet. You can smell the spoils of the donkey even a few streets away from the stairs. Would highly recommend taking any other alternative route possible even if the wait for the cable car is longer and more expensive (€6 one way).

We visited Santorini on a cruise in early November. We were the only cruise ship at the port. I took a cable car up and hiked down. So, I don't know what the experience would be hiking up. There were hardly any people around 3pm, and it wasn't as slippery as I thought. It may be because it was sunny all day today. If you have hiked the Bright Angels trail in Grand Canyon NP, that is way worse than this when it comes to donkey poop. It was very quiet, and I really enjoyed the time hiking down to the old port.
Satoko Yuda — Google review
Not too bad of a walk down for me and my husband but could be rough for some people! It would for sure be harder walking up but we didn't attempt it. The rocks can get a little slick and expect some donkey poop along the path so just wear appropriate shoes! Also avoid getting in the way of the donkeys since you'll be sharing the road with them. Took us around 30 minutes to walk down and it wasn't crowded
Bex DuBois — Google review
I would recommend avoiding these stairs if you can. There are cable cars or what we did is we booked an excursion at the port which is a boat ride to Oia and then a private bus back to Fira - so we only had to go down the stairs. (Company pagnois).
So we decided to walk down the stairs and it was a long walk - I don’t know how people went up it. The biggest concern is how slippery the stairs are. Some girl was on the floor because she broke her ankle falling.
It also smells very bad from the donkeys. It was very windy and the hay went all over us. Donkey poop everywhere. And our clothes and purse stunk from the odor. Even my hay purse got ruined from the stench.

The most disgusting donkey excrement smelly experience in my whole life. Half dead and never cleaned donkeys bearing up tourists on their backs. Donkey excrements and blood on every step. Humanity at its worst.
Santo Wines is a winery on the island of Santorini, with stunning views of the volcano and caldera. The winery offers tours, tastings, and an ample terrace with Caldera views.
This was a stop on our tour and was loved by many of the group. We had the opportunity to sample three different classic wines that were most popular in the local area. We also were able to view the wine making process in the facility behind store. Lovely views can be seen from this area as well.

Amazing view. We had wine tasting menu with 4 glass.
There are already some cheese and food comes as side dish. So you don't need to order extra much food.
Atmosphere is good. Stuff is very friendly.
The only thing is, we called it during the day and we were told they don't accept reservations however , when we went there in the evening some tables with good views were already booked. Strange! Therefore I voted as 4.
Anyway, I enjoyed it.

The most famous and biggest winery of Santorini - but not necessarily the best - is worth visiting for its great view. Take the 18:00 tour to enjoy then the sun fall (if it is not cloudy!), one of the best in the island. The wine tasting that follows is getting every decade more and more expensive (winery tour + 4 wines = 42 euros, while in 2005 the same experience costed 15 euros), but it is still worth it. We did not try the dinner menu but the portions looked generous!

Didn’t have a reservation so went for an early dinner at 17:30. Jumbo Shrimp Orzo and Grilled Octopus were wonderfully prepared. Scallop appetizer is on the smaller side but was delicious as well. Marinated feta is a must. Server was kind enough to let us enjoy our vinsanto and sparkling wine on the patio once we had finished eating inside so that we could enjoy the sunset views.

I loved every single wine I tried. If you love sweet wines like I do try the Vinsanto. It was to die for. Unmatched flavor I've never experienced before. Our server was amazing and he was filled with information on each of the wines and how they are all made. He was also funny and very kind. Get the wine sampler with the snacks. The tomato paste and eggplant dip were absolutely delicious I wanted to pack them up and bring them home with me. You also can't beat the wonderful view here. Come for the sunset views if you can. It's beautiful there any time of day though.

I had a great time at this winery, when I visited last year for my bday in September. I did the museum tour first with 4 wine tasting which was enough for me. The museum tour was okay and our host was nice. The best part was the wine tasting. They sat us right in the middle off looking the water. Our waiter was nice to explain all the wines to us and give us an introduction. I had no complaints because I got the table I wanted with the nice views!!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾 I was even able to see a wedding there.

What an amazing tailored experience.
From the moment we walked in, we could tell that this place was special. The host was warm and welcomed us with opened arms even if we had a last minute change in our reservation. The table we got had an amazing view for the sunset and made the evening that much better.
We chose the 9-wine tasting with a mixed platter and everything was amazing. We’ve seen better platters at other wine tasting places (in Santorini and in other countries) but overall it was good.
The best part was definitely the 9 wines! Our waiter carefully explained each of them and we also had a booklet explaining more. Each wine was better than the other and we ended up buying 3 of them at the shop to savour later!
PS - Make sure to reserve a few days before! 4 years ago I didn’t reserve and there was no more place. Didn’t make that mistake this time!

We did the tour and 7 premium wines with cheese and meat plates. The tour was short but informative and the quality of the wines were amazing. We had 1x sparkling wine, 1x red wine, 1x dessert wine and 4x white wines (each), this was also accompanied by a wine tasting booklet with all of the wine details and tasting notes. The meats and cheeses were also delicious. Our table looked out on to the ocean and it was a breath taking view. The winery also provide free shipping of their wine to the UK which is a bonus. We had an amazing time and was very well priced at just under €116 for both of us.
Definitely worth a visit, our only regret was not booking the sunset set slot.

Do not skip this place, book for dinner in the first row for the one of the best experiences you will have. The sparkling rosé was our favourite wine, that Nikos recommended 🍷

Stopped by this wjnery overlooking the Caldera on the last night of our stay in Santorini. We didn’t have a reservation, but we highly recommend you make one if you will be visiting from mid May onwards.
The hostess was friendly and sat us at a table on the perimeter to enjoy the amazing sunset.
We ordered a charcuterie board and an 8 glass local wine flight to try. Both excellent. Plenty of wine to share with the entire table.
I’m not a white wine person, but they had two particular white wines on the flight that were delicious. I should have bought a bottle to take home!
Great customer service - the waitress brought over blankets for all of the guests to enjoy the sunset in comfort. Nice touch!
Awesome wine, fabulous ambience, incredible view! Be sure to include a visit here when you’re on the island!

A once in a lifetime experience! The view is breathtaking and the wine is the cherry on the top of the perfect day! A must if you are in Greece! 🍷
Jennifer McBroom — Google review
The view is beautiful, the wines are the best, the plate with traditional products was great, but the staff had a problem with a solo traveler like me and they were not friendly at all.
Santorini is an island for solo travelers too, this place is not limited to who visits it.
If the staff improves, there will be better grades.
Biljana Jugova — Google review
Had a wonderful experience. We arrived here just before sunset without a booking. They walked us around the bar and restaurant to provide us options. Yes there is a minimum spend but don’t worry it’s worth every penny.
We chose the 50€minimum spend for 2 people in the restaurant for the sunset view and I would do it again without hesitation.
We started with wine tasting for 25€ for 1 person. The team here were really dedicated to make our experience perfect. They took pictures for us with different view points, explained how to best see Santorini.
When we got hungry we chose a meal and they let us taste other wines to help us select a bottle.
The meals were better than expected. The octopus was amazing. The lamb rack was fantastic and the portion was generous.
A special call out to Nikos who looked after us and made this night special.
We had a great night and hope you come here and have the same experience

From Switzerland to Santo Wines 1911 🇨🇭🇬🇷
Santo Wines 1911 is undeniably one of the most beautiful places in the world to savor a breathtaking sunset. The service is top-notch, and the wine history preserved here is impressive. The food is delicious and complements the excellent wine selection perfectly. A place one must visit to experience an unforgettable evening.

Omg this is a must, must go. Amazing wine, service and the most outstanding views!! We just dropped I'm for a wine but plenty of people were having meals.

Wow!! Santo Wines located in Pyrgos Santorini was absolutely amazing! The cheese & cold cuts platter and the wines we tasted were sensational, add to this the fantastic professional fast service make this a must do destination in Santorini…oh and sit back to enjoy the sublime volcano views! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Kamari Beach is a popular destination known for its long stretch of volcanic black-sand and pebble beach, with Mesa Vouno Mountain providing a picturesque backdrop. Along the waterfront, visitors can find scuba-diving centers, jet ski rentals, late-night bars, cocktail lounges, and seafood tavernas. Inland, the bustling streets are filled with souvlaki cafes, Irish pubs, vacation villas, and luxury hotels.
Paralia Perissa is a bustling tourist beach with sun loungers, thatched umbrellas, and DJ tunes. It has black sand and pebbles which may be slippery underwater due to large stones. However, there are many bars and restaurants nearby where one can enjoy local cuisine at great prices. The beach boasts clear water and a beautiful cliff in the background, making it an ideal spot for soaking up the sun or taking Instagram-worthy pictures.
Super nice area with excellent restaurants at great prices. I highly recommend you visit here if in Santorini.
DaBoss Robert — Google review
The wonderful beach of Perissa with black sand. A quiet place to rest and relax by the water, the entrance to the water is gradual. It is possible to take a boat from this beach to the nearby Kamari beach. The beach is situated in an environment of beautiful rocky cliffs. Great restaurants or beautiful typical blue and white Greek churches and attractions nearby. Recommend.
Ľubomír Bella — Google review
I am personally not a fan of black sand beaches but Santorini is not famous for its beaches so this is as good as it will get :-) there are plenty of food options and a nice beach club with music, drinks and umbrellas. Nice for relaxing during an afternoon.
Simona Urban — Google review
This beach may not be everyone's cup of tea, since entering the sea is slippery due to the lava bottom which is slippery at start than there's ups and downs, and holes.
But the beach... The sand on the beach is amazing, lava sand, black sand.
Jordan Kocevski — Google review
The beach it ok. Sand is dark. There is a lots of small stones. Under water is big stone. Is very slippery and every one schould be patient. Near beach is a lot of bar, restaurant. This is very pleasant place.

A hidden beach in Perissa where you can enjoy black sand. It's a place where you can relax and enjoy a bit of a local feel, as there aren't many people and you can spend a relaxing time, and the prices aren't that high compared to other places. If you don't like crowds or want to enjoy a relaxing time, this is the place for you.

Beautiful beach, with lots of places to eat and drink. Easily accessible by local bus.

Perissa / Perivolos beach is such a nice place to visit when visiting Santorini. You can do water activities and water sports. Highly recommend jet ski-img, parasailing and crazy squab. Kayaking and other sports available. There are a lot of small businesses that offer this – have a look on Santorini views on how to book. The black beach has food stalls and restaurants across the whole side. Have a look at all the restaurants before choosing. Especially for cocktails, there are very good/ competitive bars for this and some are cheaper.
You can get here on a bus from Fira.
Not your typical sandcastle beach!

Very accesible beach to reach swimming point, black sand and than tiny pebbles. Very fun during windy days. Perfect to make it yo hometown for vacation.

Really enjoyed visiting this local beach. It would've been a long walk to the beaches of we'd come in the summer though. I saw where the parking for tourists and rentals are so far back because of all the shops along the street by the beach. Since we were here in March, I was able to drive all the way up to the beach and enjoy the place basically to ourselves.
Emerson Diaz — Google review
A pretty black sand beach with white cliffs in the background. We came here pretty late though so it was quite empty, but we managed to catch a beautiful sunset here. The neighborhood feels a little run down after the other posh places in Santorini but it's nice for a quiet beach walk and checking out of some unique merchandise shops. The restaurants near the beach though feel like a tourist trap hence we did not feel like trying any of them but rather had gyros from a small place near the bus stop. Bus service to Perissa is pretty good though, even though the times hardly follow the printed schedule.
Arani Das — Google review
Nice black sand beach which stretches on for a few km's the back of the beach is lined by bars and restraunts most of which have sunbeds etc on the beach and a lot with sinbed service. If on an osland hopping holiday great place to end it with a relaxing few days after the craziness of Fira

A fairly easy ascent that takes about 1h 10mins. The sun is relentless for the most part, the hardest part, that is the first 45mins. Take water, enjoy the view and respect the peacefulness!

2 hours journey to get to a closed monastery, but the sight is definitely worth the effort! Better to not do it with 28° like me and my boyfriend did (thankfully there was enough wind). Might be dangerous if it’s your first hiking experience and if you don’t wear proper shoes. Take with you also some food, an hat and a thermos with enough water. The way back took us a bit less, about 1.5 hours. Recommended!
Serena Ma — Google review
Do not leave Anafi without hiking up to this monastery! It is well worth the effort. Stunning views for most of the way and it is just beautiful at the top. Unforgettable experience. If you are afraid of heights, maybe not for you (my partner struggled!) but otherwise do not miss. We set off at 7am with the sun rising (as we weren’t confident enough to walk in the dark before sunrise). It took us 1 hour 10min to get up and about 50mins to come down. Take water and maybe a little food. We went in about 15mph wind but it was blowing into the mountain. I wouldn’t attempt on a very windy day or midday Sun. Enjoy!

Second highest monolith in the Europe called Kalamos is the rock where Monastery Panagia Kalamiotisa proudly stands with only sky and birds above. An outstanding monument of orthodox faith, today is an attraction for many tourists abroad. Built in 1715 and kept by two monks , Agapis and Meletis now is ooen for visitors only twice a week.
Danica Sladic — Google review
It is about an hour walking. There is a clear path and awesome views at every step.
At the top of the mountain there is a church and an excellent view of the Aegean Sea
Some people choose to stay at night just to see the sunrise.
Georgio Papadakis — Google review
Some very important details to ensure you have a good hike:
1. Locals might say it's a one hour easy trail. As a fit and active person i would say this is a one and a half, as it's steep at some parts, and trail isnt always marked. So plan ahead 1 ¹/2 one way without photo stops(the way down might be shorter and easier)
2. Pack lots of water, many people at the top asked us of exrra water
3. I wouldnt reccomend it for people afraid of heights, as it is quite direct view of hight at a lot of narrow parts of the trail
4. Pack headlights. If yoy aren't spending the night there them you will most probably do part of the hike at dark(after sunset/before sunrise)
5. Avoid slippers as it's quite rocky and slippery at some parts
Enjoy the stunning view!!
eleni kapousouz — Google review
Great spot to get engaged!! Long, tough hike. Cannot picnic. Do not attempt if scared of heights!
Alex Fox — Google review
Simply stunning. Don't miss the opportunity to see the sunrise there. The path is well maintained but better to climb either in the afternoon and spend the night there or early in the morning with the first light as it can become dangerous at night. No need for carrying too much stuff, water and since food and a sleeping bag should do it.
The archeological site at Akrotiri involves the excavation of an ancient Bronze Age settlement that is well-preserved. This site was discovered in 1967 during excavations on the southwest side of Santorini, and it has revealed an old Minoan city buried deep beneath volcanic ash. Visitors can explore the city through wooden walkways and observe various features such as three-story buildings, roads, drainage systems, and pottery storage areas that have miraculously survived over time.
Amazing living history, definitely worth a visit. Speak to the curators who work there, they are very knowledgeable and can tell you so much about the site, and other facts about Santorini. Loved our visit!
Olga Alam — Google review
Very interesting for fans of history but many might not appreciate the lack of monuments or exceptional art. This was a highly advanced bronze age civilization with plenty of well preserved artifacts and buildings - but no pyramid like monuments like the Egyptians who were their contemporaries.
Jim Butler — Google review
Wonderful experience. Visiting Akrotiri Village is like visiting a small version of Pompei, an ancient settlement of prosperous people suddenly buried in volcanic ash. It's a pity they don't have enough people working there to guide visitors, hopefully in the future the site will get more attention.
Giuseppe Talarico — Google review
I attended here on a Saturday and we brought tickets on the day. Tickets were a reasonable price and there were discounts available for certain category of groups. My mum paid €12 and I paid €6 for our tickets. The place was easily accessible and wheelchair friendly. There were lots of information boards to explain the culture and the ruins. The ruins are kept indoors so there is shade however it does get very warm.

The historical and archaeological site is excellent. The bus stop near the sea provides an excellent view of the sea...but the buses do not run according to schedule. We waited 90 minutes before calling for a taxi

Interesting place with options for guided or self-guided tours. Takes about 1-1.5 hours to walk through depending interest level.
Bathrooms and facilities were clean. Crowds were too bad in May.
Masks were still required (and provided)even though the guidelines were officially lifted.
When you’re finished, walk down to the water and eat at Melina’s. It was perfect!

It's well kept site even though its many years ago .
Fee is 12€ per person and its worth it .
We had a tour guide and it was helpful to us.
Travelers make sure you pass through this place its very accessible by car .

An archeological site that is fascinating! See the preserved ruins of a civilization that lived on the island nearly 4000 years ago, yet still had somewhat "modern" amenities like indoor bathrooms, drainage systems, multi-storey buildings, and more!

Fascinating ancient site. Well worth a visit. Great facilities, free wifi, wc, easy parking. For cars the parking is 5 Euros. Staff are super friendly and helpful. A remarkable place to add to your itinerary when on Santorini.

Super ancient town remains from Neolithic to 17 century BC settlement buried by volcanic eruption.
Awesome site to visit, just wish they left the frescoes and artifacts in place, instead of stripping and carting them off to various museums (in Athens, etc).

This is the most amazing place. Very worthy of a visit and a tour. Then go to the museum downtown to see the contents and wall frescos. It was my highlight of the Island.

It was incredible!! The site of a town . That was covered by volcano ash . From 1600B.C. . It was amazingly well preserved !!! Hard to believe how advanced they were . They had a water system and in door bathroom.

A lovely little tour of the old capital and the work being done to find and save ruins. You won’t need long to visit but try to get there early to avoid the heat and the coaches of tourists.

Amazing excavation site well worth a visit. We slowly wandered our way through here in about 45 minutes and it was incredibly interesting.

We left Oai in the morning to have lunch in the Fira. Then we explored Cliff trails and etc. around Fira. To finish all roads in the Santorini, we drove to Akrotiri for the sunset. It worth the trip, there are black, pink beaches in the way, windmills, the grand view of the heart of the Santorini. The trip is up and down, a lot of big turns, be cautious! It took about 30 minutes from the Akrotiri to the Santorini airport.

A must visit while in Santorini! This museum is an easy visit. It is amazing to see this city found after the volcano erupted and how this archeological area was turned into a museum. Breathtaking! Make sure to confirm operation hour before you head there.
Victor Estrada — Google review
Akrotiri archeological site is amazing. Seeing civilization history that goes back 5,000-3,000 years ago is unreal. Covered site so you’re not in the sun. Worth seeing yourself for sure.
Darrin Baxter — Google review
The idea of housing the excavation sites inside modern building with expansive roofs and proper walkways was good. However though it is said that the museum is air conditioned it is still hot during summer.
Very minimum objects to be seen, only foundations, incomplete walls, and few artefacts.
We spent no less than 15mins.
Within the area there is a toilet, museum shop and small cafeteria.
Ticket is pricey (12EUR) relative to the benefit, adding to the already paid parking (5EUR).
Wahyu Hidayat — Google review
It was closed on one of the weekday during November when we visited. Bus conductor wasn't too sure if its open when I asked. Museum should have updated online. A few tourists took the bus with us.. had to roam around red beach while waiting for the next bus service to arrive.

Akrotiri in Santorini is a still active archaeological site. It is impressive as it reveals a sophisticated civilisation existing in Santorini around 4,000 years ago. Further excavation and restoration work is in need of financing in order to carry on. I hope UNESCO, the European Union and private sponsors will notice this beautiful important site and will finance works in the future.

Interesting historical place. It’s a kind of local Pompeya, a city buried by volcanic ashes. A must if you come to Santorini
David A — Google review
Fantastic, the absolute thought of people walking and living in those structures 1000's of years ago is out of this world. The presentation of the facilities, the ongoing work that is being undertaken with meticulous detail and to see how deep the village goes under the ash is amazing. DONT MISS THIS
The red beach on Santorini is a popular destination for swimming, sunbathing, and snorkeling. The rocky shores make it unsuitable for swimming at high tide, but it's still a great spot to relax in the meantime.
Red Beach in Santorini is a must-see natural wonder. The striking red cliffs juxtaposed against the azure waters create a breathtaking scene. While getting there involves a short hike and the beach can get crowded, the unique beauty makes it an unforgettable destination.
Ajay Kumar — Google review
The water was very clear. ATV can park very close to the beach by the church. But walking to the beach must wear a shoe and not sandals. There's a sign with do not enter and risk of death because of falling rocks. It's a very beautiful place to visit.
DANNY CHAN — Google review
This beach is very crowded generally and very little space to sit plus half the beach is fenced off due to the danger of rocks falling down the cliff face. Also it’s not nice sand but small stones. If you just want a quick swim it’s fine
Kevin Gove — Google review
I went in the off season and hiked to the beach. The road is very rocky and there was no trailhead and in some places the internet didn't work. I wouldn't say it's worth a visit
Shafaq Kazmi — Google review
Very beautiful. But a lot of people is there, tons of boats are coming and staying.
Go early if you want to sit on a bed (30€) otherwise the ground what you get. You can't go close to the stone wall because there is a fence. Sometimes big waves are coming and all your stuff is getting vet and it slips away.
The bus stop is 20 min away by walk. Nice shops around and restaurants.
hermina kalko — Google review
It is dangerous to get there, seems like some rocks have recently felt over the beach. Lots of garbage all over the sand, no litters, and people leaving bottles and cans behind at the beach. In 10 minutes we filled a bag and there were some things that could fit in there.
Be responsible and take your own garbage, and if you cam, clean some.

We drove a Quad Bike to Akrotiri. Red Beach ~ One of the most famous beaches in Santorini 🧿
Lovely views from the top of the cliff , although it was quite pretty, but the rocky path was not safe and dangerous to walk around. It is advisable to prepare a pair of good walking shoes.
Reizl — Google review
Absolut tourist trap, Million of people where you can’t walk, water is good but next beach which is just a 5-10 min walk across a small hill are no people and much nicer water. Depends what you like, I prefer less crowded beaches…
Florian rockstroh — Google review
Water shoes are a must on this island! I do believe this beach is accessible to get to if you get on the beach tour boats that drop you off. If you do drive, be very careful on the way back from this beach. The roads are very windy and the drive is scenic but the drive back up the hill requires attention and an experienced driver. Hill down to the beach is 45% and the drive back up requires the AC to be shut off to allow to power the car to get up the hill (there are signs). Very beautiful beach however! Red and Black rocks are gorgeous with tons of colours throughout, unique beach to plant yourself at. 20euro for 2 chairs 1 umbrella but you can lay for free on the ground. Just please be careful on this adventure back can't stress enough. Our hotel manager was also surprised the beach was even open here because "it is unsafe and there is unpredictable land with the falling rocks". There are definately other beaches easier to get to. Once in a life time thrill experience that fear of not knowing if the car would make it back up the hill! Worth it though.
Sabrina Benoliel — Google review
A great spot for a dip in the sea against the backdrop of red cliffs, it's a 5 min hike from the nearest parking.
GuyZa — Google review
Not worthy. Beach is nothing special and potential risk of the rocks falling down.
Umbrella and sunbath 8 euros. Until 10 can worth visit it but after 10am is crowded with people and boats. Water becomes dirtier. Vlichada beach is better option! If you come by bus don’t loose your time to come to this beach.
Bojan K — Google review
Very unique beach. Its tucked behind a red rocky mountain with beautiful views if you climb a little up the mountain.
There is a small cafe in the middle of the beach that serves basic food & drink and you can purchase a luxury elevated beach bed for €20 or a basic beach bed on the ground level shore for €10.
I would definitely return here.
Adrian Gigliotti — Google review
Particular beach with red sand, and not a lot of space to stay.
Bring shoes and all equipment to do snorkeling because the sea is fantastic.
10 minutes by walk, no option, to go to the destination.
Roby R. — Google review
Nice beach with red volcanic sand.
Sometimes the waves mess the place up so there isn’t much space to sit. Make sure you grab a towel and you have some snacks. Also if you plan to go there you need an ATV or else get ready for a hell of a walk.
INRI NDOJ — Google review
Personally, we think the red beach is really majestic and beautiful when taken from a higher vantage point, or from the sea. It is really beautiful when you get to see the full view of the beach in its entirety. There is a small path from the beach where you can climb upwards to take this view. It also gives you a breathtaking view of the surrounding sea as well. The beach itself may be dangerous as there are warning signs of falling rocks and all.

Super cool beach with a bit of a dodgy drive down, and apparently there are landslides here from time to time so it has an element of danger i suppose. Worth a quick visit whether you admire from a far or not

Interesting beach with the red rock formations. Multiple warnings about falling rocks and the way there from the parking not the easiest. Beach is rocky so flip flops recommended. It is not very large and can get crowded but still a must for the views.
