Archaeological Museum of the Asclepieion of Epidaurus
Very small but worth checking out to make the 12€ ticket to Epidavros worth it.
Amazing stones with scriptures and beautiful statues.
Nico B. — Google review
Very small museum with little/confusing information. The first room is probably the most interesting where the ancient medical tools are displayed, along with giant stone tablets on health care during that time.
Julie Pan — Google review
A very compact but capacious museum. It is highly advisable to be accompanied by a guide, because without a detailed history of Stokessey behind this place and these exhibits, it is simply impossible to understand the significance and grandeur of this place.
Andre Klimov — Google review
Epidaurus is an ancient ancient sanatorium and sanctuary of the ancient god Asclepius (Roman Aesculapius). It is known for its open-air theater with outstanding acoustics, the largest in Greece. The museum is small and houses the findings of the surrounding sites.
Branislav Bursać — Google review
You will be amazed by this Museum! This site is full of ancient greek history and you will have the possibility to visit the stunning Epidaurus Theatre and the ancient stadium of Epidaurus. At the entrance there is a big parking area and some kiosks. So if you love ancient greek History you can’t miss it!

Epidaurus Archaeological Site & Museum. Historical amphitheatre, and artifacts in the museum that are well preserved and some restored to simulate original appearance. The museum, is also known for its columns and inscriptions. Peloponnese, Greece #EpidaurusArchaeologicalSite #EpidaurusTheatre #Peloponnese #Greece
Pandy Dimitrios — Google review
The museum is realy small and highly neglected. It's collection has been plundered from the national museum in Athens leaving mostly replicas behind. Its exhibition is very old fashioned and a bit confusing. The museum collection has some great building parts from the roofs of the ancient temples of the area that are really impressive.
But although the museum has its problems the archaeological site is one of the top sites in Greece. The ancient theatre is huge and well preserved (athens theater festival is hosted every summer there). And the remains of the buildings and the temples are really interesting and nicely presented.
An UNESCO world heritage site
Entrance 12€ and 6€ reduced ticket. Under 18 and eu students for free

a museum is always boring, but this one relates directly to the whole complex
ILOVEALGARVE — Google review
Museum has a really impressive collection. I would have preferred if the building was larger and able to take more visitors without making crowd, however the collection is truly impressive
The amphitheater at the Asclepieion of Epidaurus, constructed in 340 BCE and made from limestone, is one of the best-preserved Classical Greek structures still standing. It boasts exceptional acoustics; even a dropped coin in its centre can be heard from the highest seat. The theatre accommodates up to 14,000 individuals and features restored Corinthian pilasters flanking its entrance.
This is definitely worth the drive from Athens. In fact, the drive was one of the highlights. The scenery along the way is beautiful. The theater itself is impressive and so are the surrounding ruins. You can see that there have been attempts to reconstruct some of the buildings but it doesn't look like any progress has been made in some time.
Andrew — Google review
Incredible site. Larger in size than Ancient Mycenae, and the restored theater is fabulous. Stroll the full grounds to see layers of history. Good signage with descriptions in both Greek and English. The small Museum is also worth a look. They have the only (?) fully preserved capital of a pillar on display there.
Andy Shaw — Google review
Fantastic and so well-preserved. If you are able, climb to the top and sit in the shade of the trees. It is cool, quiet (though this was in late May, not sure how it would be in high season) and you really get to experience how fantastic the acoustics are, as you can hear so much of what is said at the bottom. Museum and ruins are worth a visit too; on the same site and included in ticket price.
Lynn Trillo — Google review
It is difficult to believe such a well designed was built in the 4th century BC. The sound quality is amazing, so easy to hear from the top. This is a treasure.
The museum is not really worth the time. The hospital is also a site that needs guidance to paint the picture. If you are short on time, head to the amphitheatre.
Rhicke Jennings — Google review
It has natural fantastic acoustics. If you come in a group, split in two. One satying in orchestra ring at the bottom an other half i a top row to feel it. And bear in mind how long ago it was built.
Tomek Ikea — Google review
It is a marvel of ancient engineering and artistic achievement. With its impeccable acoustics and stunning architecture, it offers an unparalleled theatrical experience that transports visitors back in time. Surrounded by lush greenery and steeped in history, this magnificent amphitheater is not only a testament to the ingenuity of the ancient Greeks but also a source of inspiration and awe for all who have the privilege of witnessing its splendor. A visit to this historic site promises to be an unforgettable journey into the heart of classical Greece, where the arts flourished and the spirit of innovation thrived.
Jafu Parker — Google review
It is rich in history and very well preserved. Ideal for the active person as a lot of walking is involved. With the new audio app available at a reasonable price make the whole experience much better.
Jamie Sims — Google review
What a great view. This place is amazing. Can't believe over 2400 years old. Take time to walk up and admire the view from atop. The acoustics are so good. One can stand at center and be heard from the last row.
David E. Cruz — Google review
Pretty surprising this place is still being used today. Especially since it was built in the 4th Century BC. The acoustics are amazing and Tara spoke in a normal tone of voice and I could hear her on the top row. There's also a pretty good museum on site.
Rick Adkins — Google review
Initially lots of antique rocks, but when you visit it you stay speechless, because it's huge and the way it's built gives very good acoustic even to the highest row of the amphitheatre. There's good infrastructure for parking and good tables with information.
Haralambi Kalev — Google review
The stadium was built over 2400 years ago, but it is very well maintained. I sit at the top of the stadium and can hear people talking and laughing around the keystone and inside the circle. Try clapping your hands as you walk around different parts of the circle. The sound effect is amazing.
Amy W — Google review
Amazing theater that is a must visit archeological site in Greece. We were amazed by the acoustics of theater and the ruins in the area. Definitely worth climbing to the top and sitting to listen to the people at the lower level of the theater
Seth - — Google review
Excellent place. Easy spent a couple of hours around the site as its quite large. We spent most of our time at the ancient theatre. Very well preserved and looked after. Great sat at the top looking down on the stage imagining being there 2500 years ago!
Definitely worth visiting.

I have no words to describe this place.. it is my favorite of all the ancient archaeological sites!! The site the views the history of healing and ‘sleep’ you have to feel it for yourself and I can only highly recommend the trip !!

Impressive Theatre that takes you back in time!
Fully recommend!!!
The acoustics are excellent. This is one of the few remaining ancient amphitheaters in existence and probably the best preserved.
If you are lucky and get to watch a performance there, you will feel the magical atmosphere, as you make the time travel thousands of years ago.
A must see in this area
From Athens is a 2 hour drive, my recommendation is after this experience to go to Nafplio, it’s a 45 minute drive from there.
It’s enchanting, worth staying one or two days there also.
Evangelia Ioakimidou — Google review
Fascinating ancient amphitheater that has the best acoustics in the world which are still not fully understood - limestone, channels in seating, positioning in the hillside, other contributing factors… plus the site still hosts live theater & music every summer! It’s fun to try it out yourself; stand in the center of the stage and whisper a message- it will be heard clearly at the top row. Added bonus is the small but interesting museum with artifacts found on the site including a World Heritage site of ancient medicine.
Christine Wentworth — Google review
This site is well worth a visit. The theatre is particularly special, such an amazingly well restored site. The staff we spoke with so informative and friendly and had great knowledge. If you're in the Peloponnese, you MUST visit ..spectacular.
Livvy Dee — Google review
Acoustics in this Greek theatre great. Marble steps a bit slippery when wet. Very rich in history
Jeannette Ochs — Google review
The theatre as an archaeological site is definitely worth the traveler’s attention. A magnificent piece of architecture and acoustics still holds performances in the summer. The museum is small but you can get all the information needed to understand the function of the site as a whole.
Apart from the theatre there was a complex with various buildings, including temples and sanctuaries, dorms, baths, a stadium and of course the temple of Asclepius where people received treatment through the process of enkoimesis.
You can also enjoy the nature around the site with all its peace and tranquility.
There is a museum shop and a cafe as well.
S Gk — Google review
We came here just for the theatre but had a fantastic time with the museum and site of the sanctuary of Asclepius too. The theatre's acoustic is remarkable and as excellent as everyone says. It's an experience unlike any other. The museum is small, but packed with interesting items for the history of medicine and close views of some architectural sculpture. The site of the sanctuary of Asclepius has some great way finding signage. The billboards for the individual buildings are not very well designed for non-experts, but the chance to wander through some ancient ruins was excellent. We were charged 12 euros for the whole visit, which is pricier than other local sites but well worth it in my opinion.
Sam Hayes — Google review
A huge place to visit, with ample parking spaces. However, the toilets ran out of paper. Bring your own!
Andre von Muhlen — Google review
A great historical site that is still used for plays during the summer. The sound protection in the theatre is something I have never seen before in life. A must visit place if you are in the area.
Rahim Agha — Google review
The acoustics are amazing and we look forward to coming back in the summer to watch a live performance. The walk to the theatre was pretty in the spring with all the sweet wildflowers and meadow like scenery to the top (we didn’t take the stairs).
Ioanna Barlas — Google review
Like any Greek theater, this place is magnificent. This is of course my first visit to Greece and this stopover was worth it. Despite the large number of tourists visiting this place, entry is smooth. No more than 5 minutes to get the entrance ticket (it's in October so that's understandable). In 1h30, you can visit the theater and the archaeological site. It's truly magnificent, you go back in time in the blink of an eye. If you go to Greece, take a trip to Epidavros, a calm and quiet town, especially the ancient town.
Paralia Aponisos is a picturesque pebble beach located in a small cove, offering sheltered swimming and the option to rent loungers. It is part of an exciting day trip itinerary that includes stops at three stunning locations in the Saronic Gulf. Visitors can explore Agistri Island's charming alleyways, relax on its pristine beaches, and immerse themselves in its natural beauty.
What can I say.. This place has everything. Perfect service, variety of beaches depending on what you like(sand, rocks, deep, shallow). This was definitely my favorite beach/place on the island, and I could easily go there every day if I had more time. 10 euro for 2 regular sunbeds and umbrella, plus 2.5 euro if you wish for wooden sunbeds for each one. On the umbrella you will find a black button so you can call the waiter/tress when you are ready to order. This place is beautiful!!!!!

Beautiful beach.
You don't need to cross the bridge in order to enjoy the beautiful water.
Be aware that the sand is rocky and Not sutible for barefoot.
Lots of urchin!

A very pretty beach with crystal clear water. There is a private beach side, cost of entry is 5€ which includes a sunbed. The customer service is very friendly and quick with reasonable prices. There is also a free area where you can lay down towels and rest under tree shades.

We cycled to this secluded beach from the main pier... What an enchanting ride just to arrive to this piece of heaven... The peacocks and the lush vegetation perfectly compliment the tranquil settings gently washed by the turquoise, pool-like pristine waters.
Hunor-Chris Bocz — Google review
Great place! Easy to go in the water and enjoy. Service of food is not top notch but it’s nice to drink something cold in the shade. Very recommended beach! To arrive there is only one bus every hour so make sure to check it out if you need public transportation (2euro per ride)
Or Kornhauser — Google review
Onw of the best beaches on the island. Although it is a private part - with 5eur entrance, you get access to their 3 beaches, bed, umbrella, which is pretty fine. It also has mini restaurant, and service so it is really good. I recommend it for a whole day relaxation, and there are sightseeings nearby...
Danco Dimkov — Google review
One of the most, if not the most, beautiful beaches on Agistri. A hidden gem, and one of the farthest from the port, the crystal clear waters, and the soft sand make it an absolute must to visit. You can enjoy this beach for free, or you can opt to pay 5 euros for a sunbed and wonderful and friendly services of all sorts of amenities (for extra fees).
Ramy Yaacoub — Google review
Heaven!!!! We took a bus from Skala, cost 2 euro/person. The earliest schedule start from 10:15 and bust stop is in front of a church. The entrance of the beach cost 5 euro/person and you can seat anywhere without paying extra unless it's the front row, you have to pay extra 10 euro.
Mita Yasella — Google review
This is one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve been to in Greece. The beach is sheltered by the bay on one side and the water is crystal clear! The other side has a magnificent view. The bar service is super prompt, staff are really friendly and it only costs €5 for a sunbed and umbrella for the entire day!
Evelina Velkova — Google review
This is the best beach on this island. Dont worry about the bad comments. You can take the bus from Skala every quarter past and arrive in 15 minutes. It is only 2€. if you try to get on at milos, the bus wont take you if it is too crowded. Entrance is 5€ per person. There are lots of sunbeds. We came at 3 on sunday and had no difficulty in finding one. Seashoes are good idea. But there arent many urchins.

Flanked by lush greenery, this quaint beach features a small sandy beach & clear turquoise waters.
It's a lovely place. The water is perfectly clear and while snorkelling you can observe many different fishes. There's a lot of natural shade from the trees - it's definitely the most beautiful beach on Poros. Shower, changing room, clean toilets: Best facilities we've had at a beach.
But it's crowded: We were there in June and had to be there early (before 11am) to get the last free set of sunbeds - price was 12€ per set which is normal on Poros. There's not much space to sit without one, so in the end you will probably have to pay to use this beach. Service staff is friendly, although we didn't eat or drink something.

Nice little beach with catch name. The waters look nice from above, but when you get in, you'll realize they are pretty muddy. OK for 1 time but it wouldn't be my favorite beach. The beach bar offer some sunbeds but at full season it's very very crowded.
Konstantinos Barlas — Google review
Amazing beach, beautiful as you can see in pics. Should be plastic free, but they provide every drink with straw and lid in plastic cup. Food is really average, dont recommend it. But nice friendly staff. Overall i really liked the beach, but could be improved.

The bay is good and natural. You can reach from the center to Neoris by boat and walk to this bay for about 5 minutes. But the sea is not the best. It gets blurry because of the sand after a while.
F. Duygu Bora — Google review
I was a bit disappointed. The beach is a bit dirty and there aren't as many trees as you see in the pictures

Beautiful setting, clean waters and good prices.
The only thing I would criticize is 15€ charge for the set of loungers. A little steep but if you are going to stay for a few hours, it is fine.
Definitely recommend

It was my long walk on New Year's day, came all the way from the port that's downtown Poros & it was absolutely stunning! No wonder it's crowded in the summer, there were others enjoing a little picnic on the same day, such a quiet lovely place with crystal clear waters, looking forward to visiting again in the summer!

It is a petite cute beach that is excellent for quiet relaxing time. The bay is surrounded by deep vegetation which ensured its privacy. That is how the name came. It is very popular with couples or even people who prefers quiet calm environment. The water is sea green, clear. The sand is a little red to brown but sandy. The bay water is also calm enough, making it a perfect place for holidays and romantic outings. A narrow road surrounds the bay, but there is not much traffic in it. The bay has shower and drinking facilities.
Muhammad Mahfuzur Rahman — Google review
One of the most idyllic beaches in Poros. You can get coffee and sunbeds and enjoy the view. Unfortunately on the day we visited the waves had brought some sort of industrial foam probably from the many yachts that roam on the waters. The sea did still look clean but we did not risk going in. It could have been a single event who knows but the locals told us that the sea is not that clean there due to its geographical location and the yacht season. Still a must see though.
Zeynep Nihal Ozarslan Eleftheriou — Google review
A very good beach, if you're into beach bars that is. It's surrounded by beautiful nature and has plenty of shade even at noon. However the sunbeds occupy most of the space and there is little space for those who wish to sit on their own.
Eleni Pasiakou — Google review
❤ The best little beach on Poros ❤
A short hop and jump from Poros town ( 3.3 km ) you'll find Love Bay. It's a small and very cosy beach that will help you unwind and calm down from the every day hustle and bustle.
Here you will find a few hundered sunbeds with umbrellas, a changing room, his and hers toilets and a fully stocked bar serving sandwiches, soft drinks, ice creams, beers and drinks . And did I mention the very friendly staff 👍👍👍
The bay itself deserves 5 stars. The water is bright green and blue and really fresh. And they play soothing music from the loudspeakers to help you relax🎶
Whats not to love about this place❤❤❤

Really beautiful beach 😍 the coast is sandy, seawater is clean.
This place isn’t crowded ( in the middle of June)
I was missing the bar and coffee shop or tavernas therefore only four stars for me…( this place is so far the supermarket and any possible of buying)
If you want you can get a sunbed as well.

Went there on a mid-sunny May afternoon.
Definitely not overcrowded (maybe due to the time period) but a very nice and picturesque beach!
Sand was clean enough to lay down with your towel and the sea was also very clear and clean!
4 stars just because it lacks of amenities such as bars, umbrellas etc.

Clear water, plenty of tavernas, beach clean and clear, water sports are good value. Small ferry leaves here several times a day for Poros Town and Monastery beach
A beautiful place, although it looks best from a distance and at night, when it is beautifully lit. While there, be sure to go up the mountain, taking a serpentine trail along the slope, and visit the monastery, light a candle and see Nectarios' tomb.

Move over, Temple of Aphaia, this church is beautiful! If you're fortunate enough to have found yourself on Aegina, a visit to this neo-byzantine church is a must. Unfortunately for me, the center of the church was completely covered in scaffolding but, the outside was sublime. Tip: sneak up the back of the church at sunset for incredible photos!
Kyle Haney — Google review
You can quickly reach the Monastery by bus. Wonderful peace, the smell of flowers and trees.
The architectural work of art is the church itself.
It is pleasant and inspiring to walk to the Monastery with a beautiful view of the surroundings. There is also a museum dedicated to the work of Saint Nektarios.
The spiritual rapture that overwhelms you in this holy place does not need to be highlighted.
Across the street from the building is a small restaurant where you can have a drink or something to eat.
Warm recommendations for this trip or pilgrimage.

There is a dress code in order to enter (pants for men and dress for women)

A very beautiful and impressive church to say the least. There were couple of homeless people on the way to monastery and it always saddens me to see how the 'church' caters to the rich visitors and does not provide much to the poor.

What a beautiful Church! This was the highlight of my tour in Aegina. Top class architecture and vibe, especially if you visit the monastery above the Church. NB inside there are some restoration works going on. Must see if you're visiting Aegina.

Absolutely wonderful from every point of view. The place is gorgeous, situated in the middle of the island of Aegina, very quiet, peaceful and welcoming. The nuns and the helping people from there are extremely kind and they will help you with everything. The main big church has the entire holy body of Saint Nektarios and the upper little church has the head of Saint Nektarios. It is a great Saint who helps everyone and I can relate. I hope I will be back soon, it’s definitely worth every minute.❤️

Pretty interesting church - the architecture and the colour scheme makes it stand out from its surroundings. It has quite a well decorated interior and is very well maintained. There were some scaffolding in the church when we went, but it doesn’t really make much difference to our visit.
This place is accessible by the A1 bus that runs from the port of Aegina (though the frequency may be very limited - so plan your time properly if you intend to catch it!). A place that is worth visiting if you are already planning to visit the island, but otherwise wouldn’t really recommend coming to Aegina just for this attraction.

Beautiful church and monastery with great views, especially from the monastery! Lots of history within it’s grounds. No tickets required for entry, usually not that busy so it’s really nice.
The ruined Doric temple, constructed around 5th-century BC, was dedicated to the Ancient goddess Aphaia. The remarkably preserved remains of this temple are located on a hill covered in pine trees providing an extensive view of the Saronic Gulf. The structure was built in honor of a local deity from a pre-Hellenic era and featured magnificent sculptures depicting the Trojan War on its pediments.
I never get tired of visiting the Temple of Aphaia, one of Aegina island's must see unique attraction that is situated on a hill ... with beautiful views & lots of pine trees ... about 15 km from the islands capital. 👍😊
Since prehistoric times ( 1300 B.C.) it's been a place of worship ... a sanctuary dedicated to the goddess Aphaia.😍
Next to the temple there is a small archeological museum, the Museum of Aphaia, where parts of the temple are on display. Across from the Temple you will see a simple cafeteria where I've enjoyed some beverages ... that was nice: especially if you are visiting on a hot summer day!
Karitas Mitrogogos — Google review
The temple is quite well preserved. You have to pay an entrance fee of 6 euros per person. It is fenced and maintained. It was located on a higher hill overlooking the sea. The scenery is amazing. The temple is in the style of the Panthenon in Athens.

Stunning views and temple, really well conserved and easy to reach by motorbike or car (there is no option to reach it without them). The price is 6€/person, one of the best places to visit in Argina

Must visit. Not very crowded, it’s a very well preserved temple, one of the most important ones in this part of Greece too. They had both the Parthenon and Sounion in sight so those three temples used to communicate with each other visually, even though they are dozens of km from each other!
Also - visit the cafe for a coffee - they serve a surprisingly good one and the view is stunning!

This place is like a miniature Acropolis. You pay 3 euros for a ticket here, and in the off-season you can basically wander around on your own. A beautiful view complemented by a piece of history. Below is a parking lot with a small shop and a restaurant with a beautiful view.

Took the bus tour. It's a long way from the port to the temple. The tour guide did a nice job explaining other places along the way to the temple. The temple is a short walk from the temple parking lot. Once again, the tour guide did a good job explaining the history of the site.

This monument is well preserved and maintained. It’s hard to believe that this temple was from 500 BC.
Most of its pillars, structures, inner and outer features are still standing.
There’s a shop and cafe close to archeological site you can buy drinks, light finger foods and souvenirs there.
The shopping mini complex also has a restroom open to everyone.
Parking here is by the side of the road so it is limited.

This temple is pretty well preserved on the Greek island of Aegina. Or at least as much as anything can be at 2000+ years old. The temple is at the top of a mountain, surrounded by a fence and normally cost 6 eu to enter, but ous was already covered. Anyway you can see some real dedication with people quarrying these enormous stones and then of course dragging them up to the top of the highest mountain around. Anyway it's a beautiful site.

An impressive structure with an outstanding views. it was a nice fast visit with the kids, even that it was a very hot day the area had nice breeze and we enjoyed visiting the temple. The coffee next to it is a must visit.

Beautiful and very quiet place with breathtaking view on Saronic Gulf, Salamis Island, Piraeus and even Athens.
Temple is not so big, but you can see it's built over an earlier temple 2500 years ago.
Magic place.

Beautiful temple ruins with an incredible view of Aegina. We went in late September, and it was not crowded at all; we were able to easily buy tickets at the entrance. There is also a nice little museum by the temple, and there are cute cats all around :)

Very beautiful temple ruins / archaeological site, and the hilltop view of the sea makes the visit pretty satisfying. You can see Agia Marina from this height, since the temple is high up on a slope.
Pretty accessible by bus (though it can be quite infrequent). Alternatively, there is taxi or car rental which can make this place much more easy to reach.

Impolitely behavior from the entrance crew, who did not allow us to on board on High Speed Aero 1, although we were justifying accompanied with our parents that necessary documents would be sent in a minute (as we were in the process from downloading them from our mobiles). It is really disappointed to see that the crew staff disregarded coast guard’s advice to permit us to on board on the vessel,as in a few minutes they would have in their hands the necessary documents. Concluding, today’s incident it was really an unprofessional behavior from your staff towards yours clientele and I would not recommend Hellenic Seaways for future trips.

Worst service ever. To start absolutely no indication on the location of “deck E8”, we almost missed the boat after a 25 minutes walk on the harbour…
In the boat they asked us more money for the tickets already bought online. They then separated us because the boat was “full” (not even 10% of the seats were occupied) although we were only 5 people. They tried to check our tickets 3/4 times always in an angry manner, taking the phone from our hands and almost shouting at us. Talking to customers like this is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE.
The boat itself is very comfortable for what it does but other than that, very bad customer experience.
I would definitely not recommend it.

Nice, clean area! Water is cristal clear and a lot of fish can be seen! We were there with the kids and it was a really nice experience! A lot green areas, where we could even find a wild tortoise. I do not have to say how excited the little girls were :).
I enjoyed the boats very much especially the Averof. Unfortunately we could not visit because of the Easter holidays, but i enjoy seeing them nevertheless.

Flisvos Marina is an exceptional marina that exceeded all of our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by friendly and helpful staff who made sure that our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The marina itself is beautifully designed and maintained, with state-of-the-art facilities and amenities that made our stay a true pleasure.
The location of Flisvos Marina couldn't be better. Situated in the heart of Athens, it offers breathtaking views of the sea and the city skyline. We loved being able to easily explore Athens and all of its cultural and historical attractions, while also having access to the marina's restaurants, cafes, and shops.
One of the things that really stood out to us was the level of service we received at Flisvos Marina. The staff went above and beyond to make sure that we had everything we needed, from arranging transportation and activities to providing us with insider tips on the best places to visit and dine in Athens.

Great Marina, close to central Athens and is filled with many motor yachts. It also has a nice promenade where you can walk along water with many restaurants and cafes and ice cream parlours.
There is also a naval museum nearby which has one of the warships that help grease during the world war and also a try room replicated from ancient Greece that helped the Greeks win the major naval battle of Salamis, through their cunning. Which was a major turning point in history.

Gorgeous Marina, very organized, with many incredible yachts.
Here is docked the Battleship Averof, the most historic warship of modern Greece, and a Ancient warship Trireme (an ancient Greek war galley with three banks of oars) real scale replica that was used to thrward the Persians in 480bc in the battle of Salamis.
Very neat and clean space. It has a nice promenade where you can walk along water with many restaurants and cafes.

Although a little pricey, it is a very nice upscale restaurant located right by the water with a 180 degree ocean view of Egina and other islands. I was also impressed by being given the opportunity to select the super fresh seafood from a fairly large selection. The fish was cooked to perfection and we enjoyed it a lot, along with a nice bottle of white wine. We spent a couple of hours, enjoying the seafood, sipping the wine and admiring the beautiful ocean and surrounding scenery. I would highly recommend it !

The Averof warship, now a majestic museum at Marina Flisvou in Athens, carries a rich legacy from the early 20th century. Here’s a brief historical outline:
1. Commission and Construction: Ordered by the Greek Navy in 1910, constructed in Italy, and commissioned in 1911.
2. Balkan Wars: Played a pivotal role in securing Greek naval supremacy with notable victories in 1912 and 1913.
• The naval Battle of Elli (December 16, 1912): The Greek Navy, under the command of Rear Admiral Pavlos Kountouriotis, engaged the Ottoman Navy at the entrance of the Dardanelles. The Greek flagship Averof significantly outmaneuvered the Ottoman fleet, securing a decisive victory that established Greek naval supremacy in the Aegean.
• The naval Battle of Lemnos (January 18, 1913): A subsequent encounter where the Greek Navy further asserted its dominance over the Ottoman Navy, solidifying control over the Aegean Sea.
3. World War I: Initially under a neutral Greece, it participated in naval operations with the Allies post-1917.
4. Greco-Turkish War: Active in 1919-1922, aiding in evacuating refugees and troops.
5. World War II: Utilized as a training vessel, later a floating barracks, and evaded Axis capture in 1941 by relocating to Souda Bay, Crete.
6. Post-War: Returned to Athens in 1944 and was decommissioned in 1952.
7. Museum Ship: Towed to Palaio Faliro in 1984 and now rests as a floating museum at Marina Flisvou, preserving its maritime legacy.
Following the historical trail, the Averof Museum presents a brilliant opportunity for families, especially young children, to delve into Greece’s glorious naval history. Here are the aspects that make it a delightful and educational venture:
1. Interactive Learning: The museum’s setup encourages children to interactively explore the ship, offering a lively glimpse into Greece’s naval traditions.
2. Educational Material: Various exhibits and information panels enrich the understanding of the ship’s adventures, significant naval battles, and sailor life.
3. Engaging Exhibits: Well-preserved compartments, artillery, and artifacts on board captivate the imagination, enhancing the learning experience.
4. Guided Tours: Insightful guided tours by knowledgeable personnel make the historical narrative engaging and easy to grasp for young minds.
5. Safe Environment: The museum ensures a safe and pleasant ambiance for family exploration.
6. Inspiration: A visit instills a sense of pride and respect for the valorous deeds of the Greek navy, igniting young minds about the values of bravery, duty, and patriotism.
The Averof Museum is not merely a recreational outing but a meaningful educational journey, rendering history accessible and thrilling for the younger generation, and offering a wholesome activity for the whole family.

Lake Vouliagmeni, located in the Athenian Riviera, is a scenic natural wonder with thermal mineral water. It is part of the National NATURA 2000 list and home to unique organisms like the Garra Rufa fish known for skin exfoliation. The lake's crystal-clear waters are fed by underground hot springs, offering a constant temperature year-round. Visitors can swim and enjoy the beautiful surrounding scenery.
AMAZING! An absolute must! If you want to escape the city & find the beaches too busy, this is the place for you! Beautiful, natural salt water lake with fish that nibble your dead skin cells! Lake is shallow & deep so great for everyone.
We paid €50 for a double sun lounger bed for the whole day. You can buy singles & there's tables & chairs too. There are toilets, changing rooms & they serve food & beverages.
There are life guards too so you can feel safe.
Get here early to grab a seat!!!

Wow! do not miss. Of all the attractions outside the center of Athens, this is a must-do attraction, unequivocally. If you come in warm months, don't give up. An amazing lake, clear and with all the best facilities and service.
It is a lake with water at a fairly constant temperature. There are sunbeds, tables and chairs and even some individual double beds on the waterfront (you have to book them in advance). There are small fish in the water that eat the dry skin. At first it tickles like crazy, but you get used to it pretty quickly.
There is enough space for everyone and you don't have to rush and run early in the morning.
The recommended and discounted way to get to the place from the center of Athens is by metro red line and get off at the last stop - Elliniko
From there take a taxi or Uber at a cost of about 12-14 euros and you are there. Don't wait for line 122, it never comes.
In any case, there is a restaurant and a bar where you can order food for a sunbed. The toilets are very clean and there are even private and clean showers, take your clothes and shower there!
Enjoy!

The good - this 2000 year old lake is naturally breathtaking. The natural "fish pedicure" is novel and the water is lovely and warm to swim in.
The not so good - it's a shame that natural beauty like this has been monopolised to the extreme. The food and drink is pricey and lacklustre. The waiting staff ask you to tip them for every drink or meal you purchase.
The bad - there were building works taking place literally right next to many sunbathers that meant you had the loud noise and smell/particles of cutting metal and concrete whilst you're trying to relax. We paid nearly 100 euros for basic entry, a few drinks and snacks so it felt very disappointing - quite a few people left because of it.
We also waiting 45 minutes for a bottle of water that we had to remind the staff 3 times for....

The most exciting thing about this place was the “Dr. fish.” I have never experienced them in the “wild“ before. If you sit on the stairs leading into the water, dozens of not scores of these fish will exfoliate your feet. The lake itself is kind of just a big swimming pool. All the activity takes place at the beach chair end of the lake. Do yourself a favor and pay a little extra to get a cabana or reserve the private area. The staff really isn’t friendly at all. All of them seem to treat the guests as a commodity that had to be dealt with not as a guest that should be treated with kindness and generosity. They did not treat you as though they valued you. This was my experience with all of them and I engaged with at least eight staff members. They were at best neutral and at worst rigid.

A wonderful day out from Athens, we took an Uber which cost around 20 euros. 15 euros entry. First come first serve with the sun beds but plenty available during the week (we went on a Friday). The staff were attentive and the food and drinks were delicious. I couldn’t recommend this place more- it was so relaxing. I saw another review that kids were asked to be quiet and this may be part of the reason why it was so enjoyable

Wow, what a place. As soon as you get there, you can’t help but be blown away by the location. We booked in advance as it does get busy, we went on a Friday in June and it wasn’t too bad. We hired a double bed with curtains and was perfect to keep in the shade. The water was amazing ans the fish nibbling at your feet was a bit strange to start with but you get used to it. The food was great and the cold beers were tasty. Staff were very helpful and offered waiter service to our bed. A great place you can spend the day at, we went the day we were leaving as it’s close to the airport and they had good showers so we could get ready to leave straight from there. Fantastic place and a must visit.

The lake really makes you fall in love at first sight.
The standard price is 16€ per person (parking included), but since we were there on a public holiday, we paid 19€ per person. The price includes unlimited access to the lake beach area and a sun lounger. Opening hours from 8:00-18:00.
On site it is possible to buy a swimsuit, towel, glasses, etc.
On the territory of the lake there is also a SPA and a restaurant.
After swimming in salt water, you have the opportunity to take a shower! And the water temperature in the lake itself is 22-29 degrees all year round.
A small but very pleasant surprise was the Garra Rufa fish, who happily “worked” on the beauty of our legs 😅 and this is also included in the price!

Interesting place to visit when in Athens. It’s a close public bus ride away and you pass by many of Athens public beaches.
You have to pay to enter, but it’s worth it. There are thousands of carp in the lake that will try and eat dead skin off your feet.
There is food service at the beach chairs and a nice restaurant on site.

Beautiful brackish-water lake with constant temperature year round. The lake has small fish on the outskirts that can give you a pedicure but if you’re more in the lake there’s no fish. Once upon a time natural places like these were accessible to everyone regardless of their financial situation but not anymore... You will need to pay 17 euros per person to get in regardless of the time of day. Please do Greece a favor and do not support places like these. If the entry was a few euros say 1,2, or 3 it would be ok but this place is strictly focused on maximizing profits.

After seeing several museums on our vacation, we had low expectations for this museum, located in a sleepy little town. However while small it contains interesting artifacts both from the stone age and classical Greece.
Warning: the signs are in Greek and French.
The nearby excavation of the old city is also better than expected, even though mostly just foundations remain. (The signs here are in Greek and English.)

Attica Zoological Park, located near Athens, is more than just a typical zoo. The park focuses on conservation and offers visitors the chance to see a wide variety of animals in environments that mimic their natural habitats. Highlights include dolphin shows, lemurs' enclosure, and interactive experiences like feeding giraffes with prepared salad. The large zoo also features picnic areas, a playground for kids, and a cafe with views of the giraffes' enclosure.
One of the very best zoological parks and definitely the best one in Greece. There is a reach variety of wild and domestic animals and is one of the most interesting places for kids. Try to see the water show (currently unavailable due to renovations) and the feeding of animals it’s really nice! One of the best experiences in visiting zoos across Europe. I went during weekdays, on a Thursday, it was not crowded, i got the chance to feed the giraffes and i witnessed the bird flying show, that was awesome. Its a great experience for children and grown-ups all along. Be sure to have cash money so you can buy food for the animals. And also, take some food for yourself, the local restaurant is pretty poor.

I liked the zoo better than I thought (seen the earlier photos online and stuff). I went on a Sunday out of season, not that busy. Liked the animals that I saw, some had it better than others. It was a nice/okay zoo and liked it a lot. It was a lovely day. Do your own research and see if you would like to go as well or take the gamble for €21.

It was the best experience ever for us and our children too! It's a very large zoo, with so many different animals. We didn't expect to be able to feed the giraffes, that was an extreme experience for our little girls, they simply loved to feed the giraffes with salad. The keepers had green salad prepared for kids to feed them. We appreciate so much this way of interacting with animals. Another beautiful moment was at the dolphin pool, we could see them through some of the glass walls of the pool.
All in all, the whole zoo has great places and a bit of interaction with animals makes the experience even better.
We also recommend the inside store, you can find so many interesting toys and objects with the Attica Zoo theme.
Congratulations for all the work and dedication!

Such a great experience to be able to see all those animals from all over the world just an hour away from Athens. Bonus that -as written on several signs- quite a few animals had been rescued and brought to the zoo.
PS. The park with the lemurs is an absolute must, only this even is a reason good enough to visit the zoo.
ladyginger — Google review
Its an overall great experience to go and learn about the animals and see them up close. There seems to be a change for the better in everything from the last time I've been to the park. Its cleaner both in the enclosures and all the rest of the park, its better organised with better paths and the shows with the dolphins and the birds of prey have been stopped. The price is a bit high in my opinion, which is 21€ as general admission and 16€ discount rate for students, elderly etc. While there seems to be an air of change for the better, some of the enclosures seem to be small for the animals, such as the enclosures of the california sea lions and the lions... Best experiences in the park, in my opinion, are the flying fox enclosure with the sloths, the butterfly enclosure with all the beautiful reptiles and the farm animals where you can pet baby goats and sheep! Another peculiar thing that we observed in our visit is that the prairie dogs have migrated to neighboring enclosures, such as the savanah and the rhinos, which seems wrong because they might as well left the zoo and no one knows about it..

It was delightful and me and my boyfriend had so much fun. We went on a weekday and it was a bit cloudy and there weren't a lot of people, and all of the animals were outside because they weren't bothered by the heat since there was no sun. I played and hugged many king julians (lol), we saw and it was really exciting that they added spaces that were open and the animals were just walking freely. It was wonderful and will definitely be a really good experience especially to people struggling with their mental health. Absolutely loved it, plus the people that were working there seemed to really love the animals and their job. Wonderful, will definitely try to go at least 2 times a month❤️❤️

This is a great zoo. The dolphin pool and the area where visitors could roam in the lemurs' enclosure (see picture) were definitely among the highlights. The kids had a blast with several of the animal exhibits as well as on the playground. The cafe had an incredible view of the giraffes' enclosure and we were lucky to have our snack time coincide with their feeding time (see picture). Last but not least, animal living conditions seemed relatively humane (given that it is still a zoo after all).

Visiting Attica Zoo was a absolute delight. Loved interacting with some animals(where it was possible) the place is very well designed. Definitely recommend.

This is one of the best zoos in the world. The animals have large spaces to wander. Great viewing for guests. You also can walk amongst many of the species.

A very well maintained facility offering a very satisfying experience to adults and kids alike. All exhibits are orderly and arranged in a very nice way, there are areas where you can get close to the animals (whether it is a feeding post for the giraffes or bird enclosures you can walk through the cage or the farm animals you can pet up close). The park has nicely put stops for coffee and refreshment, a playground to let the younger visitors play a bit and a nice coffee/restaurant, as -due to its size and distance from the town center- I would consider the Park a location for a day trip (needing 4-6 hours to enjoy everything).
Pro tip for the parents visiting: there are little wagons/push carts that are a good way to carry your kids and your kids' stuff, whenever they are out of stamina.
My only negative remark is that my oldest kid has some mild allergic reaction (either to some exhibit or plant or even a random and irrelevant irritant) and there was no organized first aid room or even kit for such cases ( I am a doctor myself, came in contact with the vets on the facility, but they just pointed me to external medicare).
Evan Tzimas — Google review
The children love it and want to visit again. The park is clean and with large spaces. There are many species of animals, birds, everything from all continents. Don't miss the opportunity to visit the dedicated space for free lemurs!!!

there were many kinds of animals and you could watch them in peace because it was not overcrowded
A beautiful big outlet that is full of restaurants and stores. It is located 25 minutes from Athens airport. They have lots is designer stores mostly American brands. They close at 9 at night.

I'm giving just ok.
Good things: laughs room in customer service.
Restroom are big and clean.
All big names and chain are exist.
Didn't like:
Big mess at the store, all the clothes are mixed with each other.
The prices are not attractive at all.
Only 4-5 restaurants in such a big place, on lunch time it was a crazy line for each restaurant. In the end we just took noodles from a food truck.
No directly bus fro city center or airport. Meet taxi or change bases.

A fun place to spend the day, especially with family. It's ideal for doing your shopping, morning coffee and lunch, as well as dessert that won't disappoint. There are many quick snacks to try out around the "small town", as well as plenty of activities for the kids and adults

Excellent selection of major brands. Free parking easy access, near the airport. It has 2 big sections, the open area and the mall, best to park where you’re heading as it is a large area.

To reach this place from central Athens, can take metro blue line M3 from Syntagma and dropoff at Pallini. From Pallini, just go out of the metro to the bus stop on the left and take bus 319 to the Designer outlet. Place is large and clean and there is another shopping place next to it as well. In terms of prices, most designer outlets in UK or Aussie might fetch better discounts but the Zara outlet there has good sale.
Don Adzhar — Google review
For an outlet the prices are great. You can find designer bags and shoes for more than 50% off. Great selection of designer eyewear! The trend level of some stores are questionable, but that’s just a personal opinion. Other than that, a beautiful and clean designer outlet with great spots for food or coffee (there’s even a Greek bakery on the premise).

The biggest and most beautiful Outlet center in Athens. Where are all the brands? We loved the family design. A very nice and spacious Outlet center. You can spend a very long time. There are playgrounds for children, nice cafes to relax, nice restaurants to eat. Since it is an open top place, you will not get bored while walking. From now on, we buy all our needs from here.

Lovely big store with different brands. There are three restaurants, McDonald's, and children's playgrounds. Photo sessions with a professional camera are prohibited.

I was told by a friend of this place and visited on he's recommendation, and I wasn't disappointed. Loved its location and the whole experience. You can spend hours here ! I have yet to even visit the Designer outlet as I get so carried away with the other shops it has , even an M&S who ever missed home ! It's a clothes department though ! It has lots of shops as you would expect from a shopping centre 😀 lots of parking, even when I visited on a Saturday evening, as it's open until 8pm local time ,very busy time . I have yet to visit the Designer centre , but I will update once I do on my fourth visit. Plenty of food places and a KFC that has tacos , I tried them lol

Huge outdoor mall (in fact there are two connected malls) with a good selection of stores. Very quiet when we visited on a Wednesday. We didn't't find many bargains, but it was still a nice place to visit for a couple of hours. Quite close to the airport, so if you have a car and need to kill an hour or two before a flight, this is a good option.

Two shopping malls side by side. I found all the brands I was looking for. Having open space is attractive. You don't get tired while looking around and shopping. There are also various alternatives to eat and drink coffee.

Nice and fun , despite that we are not finding a lot of new collections in shops , it remains a good escape to shop and enjoy. Has lots of fashion stores in addition to a huge complex of outdoor walk for home supplies, kids' play areas, and many more. Bathrooms are very clean and plenty of parking available.
Tranquil man-made reservoir created in 1929 with a beach, footpaths, benches & birdlife to watch.

I had wished to visit this place for many years and, finally, I did. We are all familiar with the Marathon contests all around the world, but, this is the The Place, the origin, from where the Greek soldier Pheidippides, ran to Athens to report victory in the Battle of Marathon; he died of exhaustion after delivering the good news. Today's runners, fortunately, survive, although any Marathon race is extremely demanding.
Visit the place with me, you are in no danger, enjoy good food and coffee at the shore of the Marathon Lake (it's an artificial one), wander the picturesque landscape, watch birds and just relax. Have a nice trip!

A beautiful place in Attica that many times its forests being burned for land speculation and as a final act of Love for the environment they now plant and deposit 5 kilometers away the garbage of Attica in the this area!!!!5 is for the memory of forests 1 is for all the destruction of the last green zone of Attica all concerned involved..Of course money for these people I more important for the conditions of people living in this area and of course whole Athens....money that's the only word they learned to worship..
Hypocrisy at its best...not only....

Do NOT use this route. This map leads u to middle of nowhere, on dirt road, you will see valleys with trees burnt, and then dirt road track ended, field of wild flowers and grass filled the area, we had to make a u-turn to get out. DO NOT use this route if you want to visit Lake Marathon. Instead, if you must visit, pick the Lake Marathon panoramic view on Google map. It’s over-rated.

Went there to run the great Authentic Greek Classic Marathon. Great views, great scenery and above all, the feelings, running a route over 2 000 year old!

from a tourist perspective, there is nothing here... walking routes from the dam are blocked off and the one restaurant that used to be here is abandoned.
The Temple of Poseidon, a cultural monument built in the 5th century BCE and located at Cape Sounion, offers stunning views of the sea. The temple was constructed from marble sourced nearby and boasts gleaming white Doric-style columns. Sailors approaching this region could spot the temple's white façade from afar, indicating that they were almost home.
An absolute beautiful site. The drive is gorgeous. We visited at sunset and it is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. There is a yummy little restaurant I Def recommend eating at. If you have the chance definitely go see.
Erica Seegrist — Google review
The Temple has a stunning view, and apart from the hugely significant historic value, there is very little too the site. There is also the €10 entrance fee, which i would not describe as value for money. There is a cafe at the site which is friendly and serves food and drinks. But nothing else within walking distance (walking is on main road anyway). I visited the Temple of Poseidon in the morning (apparently the experience is much better at sunset for the views).
mike boogaard — Google review
The views at sunset are absolutely incredible. The place is not large, maybe a 30 minute leisurely stroll around it for some photos, but it is truly a great sight.
The restaurant nearby would be a nice place to relax and eat, however it closes around when the temple does so you need to be there earlier (something our tour guide did not include).
Caoimhin Doyle — Google review
Beautiful site! Listen to the waves crash into the rocks as you explore. No better location for a temple to the god of the seas! Can get a little crowded but the place is big enough to spread out. Make sure to wander all around, not just at the temple, there's lots to see and hear. Restaurant and gift shop are also right on sight.

the coastal drive and the sunset make the visit to the Temple of Poseidon a complete package!
The cafe has a great setting.
Make sure you get through the gates 30 -45 min before sunset as they will close .

Awesome place to check out. Make sure to take the scenic route down. If you do not have a car I would recommend a local guide, Instead of a shuttle bus. We booked one through air bnb and it was great!
Also, a heads up, it's $10 to get it but there is also a spot that you can get a great view and pics without having to pay, if you don't feel the need to see it up close. That's where these pics were from.

This is a great touristy stop not too far from Athens. Getting photos at sunset is highly recommended. Do get there before they close because they won't let you in no matter how close to the closing time it is.

The temple has a magnificent View and hugely significant historic Value. There is an entrance of 10 euro which is value for money. There is also a Cafe at the beginning which is friendly, clean and services food and drinks. The best time for visiting is Sunset according to my experience. Great View! Great history!

Stunning, a little busy but we went in October and it was possible to get photos without dozens of people in the foreground.
We bought tickets at the site, they preferred cash for speed as the card machine was a little slow. Queue to get in was a little long but only took ten minutes or so to get to the front.

Must visit if you have the time when staying in Athens! I guess about 40 minutes out of town if no traffic. Not really any crowds, it's easy/fun to walk around and enjoy. Stunning perch looking out over at the sea and the structure is really amazing condition. We also had a delicious lunch down the hill where you could look up and enjoy.

Can definitely recommend visiting this place by rental car. Nice ride next to the shore for 1-1,5 hour from Athens.
All in all it is just some pilar remains of the Temple of Poseidon and some stone remains of houses and the harbour that used to be there.
Cafe and toilet is also close by.

It is about an hour or so drive from Athens. The tickets for the site cost around 5 or 10EUR (depends on if you are a student etc.,)

Incredible to experience at sunset. Not only is it beautiful but the ruins are in very good condition. The views around the temple are fantastic! There is a cafe and small shop located just down so you can stop and take in the views. I recommend doing a tour to really appreciate the history behind it!

The trip from Athens to the temple is about an hour and a half car ride. The trip itself is on winding, beautiful, sea side roads. So, the trip itself is lovely. The temple of Poseidon is not as popular as the Acropolis, so you will basically have it to yourself. The views from the top of the hill are stunning. It’s worth the drive to see the view and to get photos that you’ll never forget.

Temple was amazing the went to was rubbish would sold that. Bus tour was no good. Because of protests we had to catch a train and then walk 5ks to catch the bus at the apocalypse it were basically having to run everywhere and then was told to hurry up because we're late. And on the evening tour we only had an hour and 20 minutes at the site so not enough time to see anything
They made it sound like you went too two adventures, but it was only one we had to pay again when we got there be careful of the fine print and then the bus was late getting back and we missed our dinner reservation because of traffic which they should have allowed for was told to hurry up and start running by the Young tour guide and I'm a man In my 50s I asked about a toilet was you told I should have gone before I got there! how rude and on the audio tour she questioned us on the way home like a bunch of five-year-olds my advice is make your own way there and you'll love it.

I highly recommend the temple of Poseidon. It is a beautiful and amazing site. The ruins still have some pillars standing and they are beautiful. The location is also great as you can easily spot it from afar.
You will need to pay the ticket to the archeological site.
There are toilets nearby as well as a restaurant.
The temple of Athena is also nearby.
Iva Reis — Google review
We visited the Temple just before sunset so that we could watch the sun go down over the Agean and islands. This was a truly magical experience with the sky turning from colour to colour and becoming ever more beautiful as the sun descended. The temple itself is a wonder to see, both on a approach and when close up. It gets busy here but there is plenty of space to spread out on the cliff side with quite a few benches to be found for a good view of the sunset. It is obvious why the ancients decided to build here - it's one of those places you'll never forget.
Do yourself a favour and book a taxi excursion which are very affordable and similarly priced to the coach tours. We did and were grateful as we drove away whilst everyone else was queuing for coaches.

We visited in October and glad that we had time to drive from Rafina. The drive was around 1 hour. The entrance fee was €10. The temple is magnificent both from afar and when we went closer. The view of the surrounding area was breath taking. We took our time walking around and taking photos. There is a cafe and museum on site. We went to visit the beaches outside the ruins after our visit.
Catherine Hunt — Google review
One of the most beautiful places to enjoy a sunset in Greece, if not the whole of Europe!
The site closes permanently for the day right after the sunset, last possible entry being around 30 minutes before the sun sets itself.
Coming in march, all the flowers around were blooming and all the colors were adding a lot to the beauty of the place.
Although not perfectly preserved the Temple of Poseidon is really beautiful even in the state it is in.
Keep in mind that the sunset here draws a lot of tourists, including busses and private tours, so at times it can get a little busy, still not crowded and manageable.
There are on site free toilets and a restaurant with a souvenir shop, the prices being a bit high considering the touristic location.
Definitely a must see while around the Athens area!

We took the coastal drive from athens. The drive and the views were amazing. Parking could be a bit of a problem here, so plan ahead. The climb to the site and the views were amazing. When there, explore the area around the sea shore. There is a nice restaurant at the site as well.

Beautiful piece full beach in Kea island. The resort is really good as well with friendly staff. Strongly recommend
Dimitri Raptis — Google review
The closest to an upscale beach in Kea. Organized for the most part, expensive sunbeds, bar & restaurant. Clear water, partly stony seabed. Sometimes contaminated with fuel oil from the many yachts around.
annice in wonderland — Google review
40 euros front row then 20 for back for 2 sunbeds and umbrella and two bottles of water. Freddo espresso the most expensive beach version sofar at 5 euro.
Yes place is expensive but the best beach for little kids as shallow sloping seabed. Nice sand. Shower and bathrooms and a good covered chilled out restaurant area.
Also great place when the island has a strong northern wind as you are not really affected by it here. Remember to take the tarmaced road from corissa up through kea, as sometimes the GPS takes you off road.. which is a fun adventure if you have a small 4x4, but usual small rental car will struggle.

Great sandy beach with cristal water: with the most amenities on the beach. Booking needed in advance AT THE BEACH (not by phone anymore). Great food choice (beach bar + restaurant). Music on the beach at good level (not too high: can read and sleep with no issue!)
Watersport equipment available on the other part of the beach.
Small issue: the beach bed slide from the frame compare to the other beaches I have done
Paralia Kolona is the most famous beach on the island, featuring a stunning double bay with a thin strip of sand leading to an offshore islet. During low season, it's a favorite spot for yachts to anchor, while in high season it can get quite crowded. Accessible by sea taxi from Merihas or via a hilly road from Apokrousi beach, this unique beach offers beautiful natural surroundings.
In the end of September, the beach was almost empty and there were not so many boats around. Be aware that there are only two trees that give shade. Directly at the beach there is a restaurant we did not visit. They play modern music all the time which can be a bit annoying. It is worth walking up the hill to the church on top. The view is great. It is possible that some sheep crossing your way.
The way to the beach was not very easy. If you drive carefully and slowly it is okay to do it with a low car. There is no asphalt on the way and there are a couple of holes in the ground.

Beautiful place, not reachable by a smaller car. Quite a narrow road up and down the mountain to get there. Once you get there, it is extremely rewarding though.

A beautiful special beach with clear water. Unfortunately, due to the closeness of Athens, there is a lot of boats here especially on the weekends. It can get very crowded. There is more pleasant beaches on the island close to this one, so you don’t necessarily need to stay where everybody is staying.
On the north western shore there is a little side beach that has a volcanic thermal spring with clear 38° water just on the beach. It is almost hidden and you can only see it when you are walking on the beach.
Markus De — Google review
Unique beach, the natural aspects are beautiful. The beach is not ruined by sun beds as the organized part is only around the beach bar. The downside is the music from the bar can be far too loud and the wild anchorage of the boats somewhat ruins the beauty. Road there is fine only the first 20 meters are rough the rest is fine.
Gwennael Guignard — Google review
Lovely beach - thoroughly spoiled. I came here 7 years ago and, whilst the beach was busy, it was quiet and you could find space to sit and enjoy the view out to sea. Now the bar is blasting Europop that can be heard the whole length of the beach (even heard it from the church on the island). And the view… well if you enjoy looking at people on their boats then you are in for a a treat. You can’t see the sea for the yachts . Just thankful we went by moped and could leave again - if you pay for the water taxi you are stuck there for a couple of hours.

Not easy to reach by car as some 200 meters are very narrow even for one car! As there were more the 60 boats and yachts the water was not clear so the swim was less 3 seconds! But this piece of stand land is amazing!

The most popular beach of the island and one of the most popular of the Cyclades islands!
The strip of land is wider than it seems from the pictures!
My suggestion is to be visited at mid-day as sun brings out all the beauty of this beach.
Lots of boats and yachts at both sides of the beach
Access by regular car is possible...the most difficult part is the steep first kilometer after apokrousi beach where the road is too narrow. Lots of YouTube video to clearly check this dirt road.

I've visited this museum today and it's easily one of the best experiences I've had in a museum even though it's quite small. The owner and restorer, Dimitri, guides you around the mill and tells you about the history of olive oil and the procedure of making it. The coolest thing about it is that after he restored it himself after the mill being abandon in 1960, he and local farmers and his parents made olive oil there and he documented the whole thing for everybody to see. A very interesting museum even for people who normally aren't interested in olive oil.
Definitely a recommended visit.

It is situated near the charming seaside village of Emborio and has large black round pebbles along its waterfront. While it can be challenging to walk on the pebbles, many tourists still flock to this beach for its crystal clear waters and small café located at the very end.
Best beach in Chios. Try the second, longest beach. Suggest to stay until dark.

Not to be missed beach with black pebble stones, unique in Greece. Water tends to get deep very quickly but clear as a whistle!

It's a beautiful beach with black volcanic pebbles and crystal water. We went there in September during the week and it was not crowded at all. There is a small cafe there with drink and food.

Amazing black stones in the beach. Not organised so must bring umbrella&chair etc. Cold but cristal clear water.

One of the clearest waters i have been. If you are willing to walk, it is very long so you can be remote. Take water and umbrella with you.

You can go early (8-9am) if you want to just take fotos in this beautiful beach. When you arrive , continue walking the path until you reach the second part of this beach and when you are there, go further until you pass this huge rocky cliff, so to take fotos next to it. We didn't swim there, it was kinda scary for me 😅 so i cant say anything about the water.

Great beach with black volcanic pebbles. Second part of the beach is less crowded, you can access there by the stairs at the end of the first beach

It has a beach made of black volcanic rocks. A black beach! I think, absolutely, it should be seen… The water is clear and warm. There are showers and umbrellas. There's a small café too.
Yusuf Karakus — Google review
An enjoyable beach made of black stones. Not my favorite in Chios but still nice to enjoy a relaxing day.
Timur Cetintas — Google review
Large black round pebbles. Difficult to walk on there but that's the price to pay for the nicest beach on the island - crystal clear waters with a small beach cafe at the very end providing with some provisions. It attracts many tourists and several couples heading there for a swim. It also has another part once you go up a little walkway extending its range significantly. Highly recommended.
Nicholas Lelos — Google review
Excellent Beach very beautiful clean with crystal waters and not very crowded. Black pebble beach because this was a volcanic area a long time ago. You must have with you towels and beach chairs as well as a beach umbrella. Very nice reasonably priced bar behind the beach that serves drinks and sandwiches/hot dogs etc.
Oliver Bailey — Google review
One of the most beautiful beaches I've ever been at with clear deep waters and smooth volcanic pebbles.
Wonderful place full of very old buildings and a Turkish graveyard from 1821 and restaurants and children and old folks. Was wonderful to visit and a must see in Chios.
Pat Savage — Google review
The castle has some impressive parts and an interesting historical background. The fact that it has been allowed to build houses inside it, even using parts of the old walls removes a big part of its beauty. Still it is worth a visit, although you will need some scouting skills in order to spot the unharmed areas.
Ioannis Pyliaros — Google review
You can have a cute stroll there but nothing special.

If you've been to the island of Chios, you must see it. Because there are not many historical buildings like this in the center of the island. There is no museum and it is neglected.
Egecan İntepeler — Google review
As is often the way in Turkiye the castle has been substantially rebuilt. This does not stop it from being impressive and dominating Cesme, particularly if you are approaching from the sea.
I enjoyed exploring it but the best views are from outside of it, especially from the bay near the ferry port.
Simon Proudman — Google review
Not so many English translations at the castle's info. Almost all of them are in Greek, wich is rude. Anyway, this is a Turkish castle, because they had the island from the year 1500 to the year 1912.

A nice place to walk around, there's a cafe inside and some shops. The museum part is closed on Tuesdays, so keep that in mind.

The Cesme Castle, a historic Ottoman fortress constructed in 1508, offers breathtaking views of the Aegean Sea and Cesme harbor. With a small museum detailing the Turkish-Russian war inside its walls, visitors can immerse themselves in history while taking in the stunning panoramic vistas from atop the castle's various levels. However, elderly or disabled visitors should be aware that navigating through this multi-level structure requires ascending steep slopes and numerous stairs.
Very beautiful view from castle. The castle is well designed that has many levels and good museum too. It's kind of perfect match between castle and fort.

You can have an overview of Çeşme from the top of the Castle. One of the biggest castle you can find around the region. Worth visiting, museum is good.
Semih Balcıoğlu — Google review
We pay 25 TL per person for 2 adult & 2 teens. Free for little child under 12 y. Not friendly for elderly or disabled people because there's a lot of stairs and steep slope to get to the top, so prepare yourself. But when you're on top, you'll get amazing panoramic view of Aegean sea and around Cesme harbor. Inside the castle there is small museum explaining about Turkish-Russian war.

The castle is probably the most important sight that you can visit in Çesme. It's quiet close to the harbor and settled on a tiny hill. But don't let the little hill fool you, it's still quiet steep! But this short effort is a must do! From the top of the castle you can enjoy an amazing view onto the sea. The castle apparently also contains a museum.
KT — Google review
The castle has one of the best views of Cesme. Most of the museums inside is war themed, especially you will learn about the naval battle of Cesme. There are couple of ancient pieces also. But I would skip the castle if you are disabled or have bad knees since you have to climb a lot of stairs. Entrance was 25 TL, I think it is free if you have the natinoal museum card.

My visit to the castle in Çesme was quite enjoyable. The location is easy to access and has a great view. The content within is satisfactory, carrying a variation from ancient items on display to more recent, 18th century ones. One can freely walk inside the castle and visit its numerous chambers and walkways.
The only negative was waiting on queue outside to get in, unprotected from the sun.
Overall, definitely worth a visit.

We visited the castle in about 1h.
There are several exposition inside the castle showing ancient currency, history of the close by wars, pottery and glass making.
The exterior of the castle is really good for picture of the city and sea.
Part of the visit is on top of the castle walls, which can be really hot during summer days

Absolutely beautiful Historical building.if you are into architecture and or history, hours can be spent in this castle. it does take however, a certain degree of physical fitness to be able to climb the many levels of stairs. Beautiful views
Ilıca Plajı is a spacious coastline with ample room for visitors to enjoy. The beach boasts a broad shoreline and shallow waters that are perfect for children. Along the beach, there are several eateries, chairs, and umbrellas available for use. Those who love long walks will appreciate this beautiful destination as they can challenge themselves to walk to the end where wooden terraces await them, offering stunning views of the crystal clear sea.
Beautiful and clean public beach. Lots of space to find a good spot. Water is so clear and even end of September still OK temperature wise. There are cabins where you can change and even open showers to wash off the sand. Toilets are there but might be hard to look at... Nevertheless for a public and free beach extremely pleasant.

This beach was just so lovely.Perfect for sunbathing, perfect for little children it was shallows for quite a while and not rough waves. The water is just so clear and beautiful.loved the shower/bathroom facilities so convenient.A great beach ,definitely recommend.

I visited Ilıca beach in June, the most striking thing was the waste of the luxurious hotel that they are building on the first line of the beach. There was cement and wood as well as sharp objects all around. We visited the beach in the morning around 11 o’clock and it was obvious that no cleaning is done daily nor was there any cleaning personal, or any security. There was not even one rubbish bin. People throw all the rubbish along the beach and the municipality doesn’t even bother to place bins to avoid this problem. As a foreigner it seemed such an abuse of natural beauty and it is no wonder that I cannot recommend such a place or talk good things about Çesme abroad. In the pictures you can also see dead seagulls, which most probably had to eat the plastic waste that the people dumped on the beach and there was not only one. While walking along the beach we saw several dead animals on the shore. It is such a shame on part of Çesme municipality and I will send these photos to higher authorities.

Beach itself is very dirty. With little effort it can be one of better beaches on location. Water on the other hand was fine. We had fun with waves, but thats just it.

It really is a beautiful place, just as described. Clean coast and clear like glass sea water. Shower areas and toilets are available and free of charge.
There is no shaded seating area but it is available in the cafeteria.
It would be much better if there was an extra shaded area.

It’s a long beautiful beach. Especially great for those beach walks, if you are a lover of them. You get to challenge yourself to go to the very end and then climb up to the wooden stalls/terraces and go on forward.
Amazing views will be opened for you from the other end.
The sea is so clean and transparent.
The area in general is super picturesque and provides for good vibration of your soul.
Yet, a bit disappointing that people leave so much litter behind.
Oksana Roma — Google review
The water is brilliant, but rhe sand is hell, full of ciggarette, used bottles, packages. Very sad that people are not trying to keep it clean, also on the other hand there are no gabbage bins until you leave the beach.
Leo Dicaprio — Google review
The beach is lovely. The water is very clear and warm, sand is soft. Parking nearby. The facilities are poor, though. The bathrooms are disgusting. Only three changing cabins that are dirty, with no hooks to hang clothing.
Carlton Wyatt — Google review
The beach is very long and wide, but the sand is not the cleanest. The water, though, is very warm. There are usually waves, because it's a windy beach, but the entrance in the water is plain, so the waves aren't a problem. In some parts of the water there are stones or shells that you can step on and hurt yourself,so some water shoes are recommendable.

The Potami Waterfalls on Samos Island's northeast coast are a popular tourist attraction. Children and adults alike enjoy visiting these beautiful falls, which can be reached by following the road west from Karlovassi towards the harbour. After passing the pristine Potami Beach, visitors will come across a forest and lake, followed by a series of waterfalls. The scenic walk along the river offers an adventurous experience through the forest until reaching the waterfall itself.
Grate experience. First Walk is easy. Than to see the waterfall you need to swim or climb up to the restaurant and enjoy a good drink
??? ???? — Google review
Nature lovers this is your place. Dedicate some time as there are seven different levels and not one waterfall. Get ready, there will be climbing on rocks, ropes and maybe wooden sticks. Totally recommended!
Nick Koutsandrias — Google review
A bit of a let down. The real things are The insane stairs down. You have to swim to get to a really small waterfall through a canyon. The mountain water is freezing cold. IT IS a beautiful place absolutely. If you are not fit, or overweight, you should not go. The handrails are wobbly and some steps are not stable. Be very careful!
Marko R?is?nen — Google review
You need to be prepared. In order to see the waterfalls you have to swim. Otherwise it is a nice hiking trail with a very narrow and old wooden staircase at some point before the tavern at the top.
Chris Tsilopoulos — Google review
Cool place to visit. Lots of walks. You can swim to the first waterfall. It's fairly easy, no more than a 10 m swim in stages.
David Stevens — Google review
Lovely place where the bold get rewarded with sights not many others will see. If you want to see more than the first waterfall, be sure to wear swimming shorts with a closed pocket and closed sneakers/shoes that you don't mind swimming in, further down the path you will encounter ropes you need to climb and many areas with sharp stones and edges, but many more beautiful sights to see! Bring some cash too for the lovely restaurant at the top of the stairs, the view there is breathtaking.
Sjeng Plantaz — Google review
Very nice walk through the wilderness and refreshing swim in the canyon
Franz Bettag — Google review
Cute little walk to get up to a cute little waterfall. There are 3 Waterfalls, the 1st is doable to get to (small easy walk through the forest and then a small swim so keep that in mind if you have belongings with you. You could drop them off at the cliff restaurant but if you have fear of heights, you won't make it up the stairs haha) but the waterfall is nothing spectacular. To get to the other 2 you need to invest. From 1 to 2 you have to climb a 2m rock with no rope so if you're not super fit, you can't get over it. Shame. Apparently the 3rd is the nicest.
Elena Green — Google review
You can reach this place after 10 minutes walk through the valley. Take your swim suit with you if you intend to swim, we didn't know. There is a cafe at the top of the hill but getting there is very difficult. There are probably 200 steps which are very steep and narrow. I don't recommend it if you have problem with your knees. We could not reach the waterfall due to absence of our swimsuit. It has beautiful seenery. I hope you can enjoy.
Sahin — Google review
Amazing walk along the creek which crawls with life. You can see small fish and crabs if you look close enough. Lots of beautiful shaped trees. We didn't quite make it to the waterfalls because you have to swim to see those. Still worth a visit.
Michiel Essen — Google review
Potami Waterfalls is a great hike, with amazing views through the lush forest. The road itself can be quite dangerous though, due to very steep stairs leading up and down the mountain. Also, the waterfalls are only accessible via swimming. Not for small children and the elderly.
Kamila Wojciechowicz-Krauze — Google review
It depends on the whether, but been there in the end of June and even the first 30m to first waterfall requires you to be fully submerged, so look out (it's more then 1,8m deep!).
Then you need to climb the first waterfall, which might not be easy! Water is cold, but refreshing in my opinion. Met some lovely and brave people there. Great trip!
Radosław — Google review
Very nice thing to do on a hot day.
We went in the morning and when we left we realized there were coming more and more people.
We parked our car on the street en followed the road sign to the potami waterfalls. The first bit was a nice walk through the trees and soon there was water. We went in the water and found the first waterfall and left our clothes and bag by the stairs. You have to do quite a tough clime through the waterfall and later at the second one as well. If you’re not that adventurous or lack the arm-strength like me you can also walk up the very steep stairs at the start of the water and walk up to the tavern at the top and then take the stairs down to the top of the second waterfall. After that you still have to clime through the water and rocks but those are definitely less hard to clime up. We saw people on bare foot so it is possible apparently but I would definitely recommend water-shoes of some kind and of course swimwear because you’ll have to swim at some points of the trail. If you want to take your phone and other important stuff with you, a watertight bag is useful.
We had a great time and would for sure recommend it to others!
Bregje de Wit — Google review
Pleasant walk in the forest following the waterless "river". Then you have to swim in ice-cold water to the first waterfall and once more to the next larger one. Unless you want to climb a steep wooden staircase to the tavern at the top and take a different route to the waterfalls.

Landmark archaeological area featuring an ancient city with an acropolis, a theater & temple ruins.
While planning your visit here, you should remember that it is a huge area and the distance among the ruins is long. You will have to walk long so, definitely take some water with you. Although there are seats in the shade for resting, you will be walking in the sun most of the time. This is why you may consider visiting it when the sun isn't that strong. P.S. The employee at the entrance wasn't very kind but hopefully, you will meet a more friendly one.

Tlos is the oldest and one of the most important religious centres of ancient Lycian times in the Mugla Province of southern Turkey. The town dates back to 2000 BC and was subsequently inhabited by Romans, Persians, Byzantines, Greeks and eventually Ottoman Turks, making it one of few Lycian cities to be continually inhabited up until the 19th century.
It is known as the city where the mythological hero Bellerophon and his winged flying horse Pegasus lived. Tlos was one of the six principal cities of Lycia and under the reign of the Roman Empire it was known as ‘the very brilliant metropolis of the Lycian nation’.
FYI: The Lycians were an ancient people who inhabited the area of present day Turkey between the bays of Antalya and Fethiye, a compact, mountainous territory.

If you’re interested in beautiful walks in nature, history and ancient olive trees, I highly recommend a visit to Teos. You will hardly see any completed structures, you mainly see ruins sprinkled around the site but it is a great outdoor walk for families. It’s not super stroller friendly, while it is possible, I’d leave the stroller in the car. There is a bathroom at the visitor center and there is plenty of parking. Difficult to arrive in public transportation.

Another lovely city of Ionian League. The sad part is there is nothing to see except a little bit of theatre and government building. A lot of ruins and huge olive trees. Easily you can spend 2 hours. Almost all of the ancient city needs restoration here. I wish the government spent some money for this! That’s a huge opportunity for global tourism.

The Theos archeological site is a good place to visit if you can connect it with other programs in the area. To be honest there are other archeological sites in the area that show you more, but the unique thing that you see here is a 3000 (not mistake) years old olive tree. One very much appreciated thing was that the cashier spoke English and recommended us an optimal route to follow.
There's a public transport bus that goes to the site, but I didn't memorised the number. The Theos harbour on the way is really beautiful.

A standart, lovely, well organised, "self service" beach that's ~30 mins of walk from Kokkari center (you don't necessarily drive here). The sea is the Aegean so you know how beautiful it can be 😍
Various options to lay/sit/stay (on the shore, on upper levels on geass, tables with chairs, etc.). We only had beers & chips and the chips was home made and delicious.

We had a relaxing day at Lemonakia Beach. Two sun-beds with an umbrella costs 10€ in total. One sun-bed costs 6€. Food prices were a bit high in my view, e.g. one caffe latte with ice costs 3,5€. The beach itself is really calm. Toilets were clean and showers had great water pressure. They also have a car park in their premisses, but you can also park on the side of the main road and walk down to the beach. The beach is not protected against northerly winds, so it may be quite wavy on windy days.

The water is clean and there are sufficient life guards in the facility. Online ticket price is 260 tl per person and it contains a morning snack, lunch, and an evening snack. Soft drinks are free of charge and unlimited. There's no alcoholic drinks available and you can't bring it with you either. Single males aren't allowed in. It's a completely family atmosphere. Suitable for families with children. They have a private beach but if you want a sunbed at the beach you have to pay 50tl per person! Doesn't make sense at all! Not recommended on weekends and holidays. Shuttle bus from Izmir costs 90 tl per person and it's a reasonable price for the long way.

It was an amazing place with fun for all the family. I will definitely go there again. Very good value for money.

Except for its price of ₺645 ($25), food and facilities were good enough. I'd recommend.

Fantastic aquapark, free with cactus hotel on working days, could only be open a bit longer but still its great. You also get free food there so that's also good. Can recommend!!

A very nice water park. A large selection of slides and attractions, both for children and adults. The water park itself is clean. The waiting time to enter the slides is quite short, especially when compared to other water parks. Lockers are available on site. There is a snack bar in the aquapark and juice dispensers. I don't know the price of the entrance, because we had them for free as part of our stay, but being there, it's definitely worth a visit with the kids.

Have really good water slides and very safe there are too many lifeguards. But there are many queues. And foods is not good. The prices cannot be said to be fair.

Is this place still open? Cause it looks so fun! But satellite images show all the pools all algae green... Makes me doubt it's still in operation after Covid.
