Palmetto Distillery, located in Anderson, South Carolina, was the state's first legal moonshine distillery. The collection of spirits includes award-winning flavored moonshines like Pina Colada and Peach, craft whiskeys, and ready-to-drink cocktails. Visitors can enjoy free tours of the facility to learn about the distilling process and participate in a choose-your-own-adventure tasting experience.
Our family had an excellent experience at Palmetto Distillery! Kudos to Nick who was amazingly accommodating to our little one—gave him crayons to color, showed him where the lizards hung out outside, and put out cones outside for him to play! All of the liquors were excellent. Surprisingly, my favorite was the Backstage Peach Mint! The whiskey, lemon drop, and peach were my next favorites, followed closely by bananas foster and Cinnapepper. Highly recommend, excellent staff who go above and beyond and top-notch tastings and product.
Alisha Taylor — Google review
This was absolutely the highlight of our trip! The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. The moonshine is by far the best we’ve tried. We did the tasting and if I could I would give them 10 stars.
Kristine Lawn — Google review
We weren't too far from here so why not stop by and grab some goodies!! Tastings are $5 a flight. Rootbeer and Salted Caramel Moonshine are my favorites. Good, friendly service. And the bartender was very patient with us!!

Bought the 4 pack mini jars. Each flavor was amazing. The spell added to the flavor profile. I will be buying more. Shipping was quick and efficient. They made sure the product wouldn't waste. Must try.
Chanttell Cain (Blacc Butterfly) — Google review
Outstanding Product and Service. We really enjoyed the flavors we chose. What was exceptional in our morning coffee and hot chocolate was the butter pecan cream. The only goofy thing I did was I mixed up the lids and put the pecan one on the salted carmel moonshine and diluted it with the pecan cream, so my 24 year old daughter who has allergies to nuts, cannot now have any of the salted carmel. My mistake! Thank you Everyone at Palmetto... ROB OLEAR, Independent Actor and Tennis Coach/Pro BUFFALO NY , soon to be resident of SC this year, probably in Anderson/ Greenville Area

Found this local distillery on a visit to SC. They have a storied history and the moonshine is not something we see every day so we spent hundreds $$ on a variety of bottles and head back home. Even told friends & family and they spent hundreds $$.
Fast forward and we're locals now. Imagine our surprise when we find Palmetto moonshine on the shelf at the local liquor store. Turns out the $35 a quart moonshine the distillery sells is on the shelf at the liquor store for under $20.
We like the spirits, the folks at the distillery are nice enough, too bad we feel ripped off.

I've never been here yet! But my mother in-law has and she purchased some of the best BBQ sauce and it's so delicious 😋🤤! It's mouth watering. I hope to stop and check out this place some day soon 💖!

Great moonshine! Great little store went in for a tasting. Walked out with two jars. Also the 130 proof bootlegger is the smoothest 130 proof I ever had.
Jessy Rabon — Google review
The server was a bit slow to get us started but after that the experience was 10/10. Tastings are cheap and they offer many delicious flavors, the building has a ton of history that you can learn all about and the production process is in clear view so it’s recommended to come on Thursdays when they’re running the still

Just moved here from Georgia. Really cool place and an awesome selection. Enjoying the Peach right now! Definitely will be back to try different flavors!

This place is amazing. The people are super friendly and the moonshine is off the charts. Go here for a tasting and you'll leave with a few jars. The salted Carmel and root beer are my favorite.

Excellent staff and product. Did a tasting. Great variety available. Staff super knowledgeable even putting my selections in a good order. Premix margs and bloody Marys available along with jellies, hot sauce, and BBQ sauce. Sadly lacking on minis in both the liquor, jellies, and other items. Would have liked to taste non-alcoholic items as well but this was not available. Neat location and shop.

I had fun at our first Halloween Comedy and Cocktail night. Unfortunately the sound around us was so loud that we could barely hear the comedians. But the atmosphere was great, everybody was fun dressed up, the drinks have been great (only just a bit pricey). But overall we will come back.
Very helpful staff and engaging community. This church has helped grow our leaders through conferences, training and continued support. They’ve got some of the best pastors I know & powerful worship draws you in.

I love to listen to Meredith sing, but very unsettling seeing her wear a blazer and preaching.
That's not the role the Bible calls for a woman.
I despise this new so called generation of believers. They make up their own rules.
Try following the Bible, and God's teachings.

Church is not bad. Well organized. Has home groups and many activities. The sad part is we're sitting on the parking lot, waiting for fireworks, kinda lonely. There's groups of people, cooking, eating, talking and laughing, but no one tries to approach, to introduce to the church or their groups. Honestly, we feel too shy to go to them too.. lol. The fireworks were great, by the way. Thanks!

Amazing church for all ages! Such a great atmosphere. Wonderful music and worship. Glad to call Newspring home for me and my family.

We were visiting from Virginia for Anderson University parents weekend. We enjoyed the visit. I really liked the welcoming atmosphere, greeters, the coffee stations and the creamer. The worship leader was amazing, and it was obvious he was filled with the Holy Spirit. Our church is involved with the Clayton King's ministries through Crossroads Summer Camp. The message about Home To Win was a win. Great message brought by the Pastor Brad Cooper. Thanks for a great welcoming visit.

You watch a person on a screen. That's not church. Last time I went to a service, the speaker (pastor?) talked about his family the whole time. I came to hear about God, not hear you show off the whole time about how great and wonderful your family life is. Put God first. Talk about how great and wonderful He is.

Amazing Community. Amazing atmosphere. The Bible Gospel is preached every single Sunday.
Nick Hurst Evangelistic Ministries — Google review
This church has changed mine and my wife's life. We leave every weeks Sunday service with tears in our eyes.
We are so grateful for a friend sharing this church with us.
We both grew up Lutheran in a very traditional style service but the pastors at New Spring bring the verses of the bible in their service to everyday lifes experiences.

We had such a very lovely time at City Scapes winery this afternoon.
The server who greeted us was so warm and friendly, and she guided us through a really fun, relaxed, enjoyable tasting. Sometimes at wine tastings I feel like I’m supposed to be super proper and fancy :P so it was fun to laugh and chat and relax. Her shift must have ended halfway through our tasting because another server took over, and she was also lovely and gave us a lot of great info about the last several wines.
The wines themselves were great—a good variety, and all delicious. We snagged a bottle, took our wine glasses with us (they are included in the price of the tasting) and then strolled around and visited the goats and pig. Such a fun date!

Fun afternoon wine tasting close to home. SC is not known for their wines, but City Scape takes a creative approach with small batch wines fused with local fruit. The tasting room is beautiful and the staff is friendly and attentive. The food offering is limited but tasty. They easily accommodated our gluten allergy. There was also a food truck the day we visited. The grounds around the tasting room are still maturing. The reason for the four stars is I found the wines to be good but not great (often one dimensional). I will definitely go back and look forward to seeing this venue thrive.
Jeff Cockman — Google review
First time at City Scape since the expansion. Very nice and well decorated. We enjoyed date night and the new building. Be careful walking into the courtyard. The cement squares are loose and you can fall because some move when you walk. We had a great time and loved the wine and took a few bottles home. The tasting could be served with a tad more wine to be able to really taste and chew the wine more, but other than that it was great. Hopefully the patio will be open next time to walk out on. We will be back when it gets warmer.

Yesterday I went the new City Scape Winery. I had a wonderful time and their new facility is absolutely stunning! I was very impressed with the courtyard with outdoor seating, the beautiful stone fireplace and their amazing new tasting area. If you are looking for a place to spend a relaxing and enjoyable afternoon I highly recommend City Scape Winery. Thank you to the owners, Deb and Josh Jones and their staff for a wonderful afternoon. I will be back!

Everything from the planning process, communication and the day of the event was fantastic! I held a work gathering at City scape for my staff and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. I started the process with contacting the Winery. Tess, the Director of event planning was very helpful in helping me coordinate the entire event. She was knowledgeable, friendly, prompt in responding and answered all my questions. She even helped me choose how to cater the event in a budget friendly manner. When we arrived the cottage and outdoor area was gorgeous! Everything was set up perfectly and Anthony our bar tender was polite, enthusiastic and catered to all of our needs. I highly recommend City scape to those who have not been! This was not our first time here but my first time hosting an event and they definitely exceeded my expectations. We will definitely be back!

Loved it! Katie cotton couldn’t say more amazing things about the owners while I got my hair trial done for our wedding. We were already excited to try it before and it lived up to all the standards ! The atmosphere was beautiful! We did a Saturday wine tasting and ended up with only four bottles to take home. Would have taken home so much more but they don’t ship out of state. (Only bummer of the evening).
Would like them to be our wine of choice for our wedding and still need to ask them but we loved this place !
(The staff….. couldn’t brag about them more !) We are business owners and appreciate our staff so bragging about how others handle their staff is important. From the front entrance to even staff asking if they wanted to take our pictures for us … they did such a great job!
We will be back next time we’re in Greenville !

Went for our 12 year anniversary, which included a tasting and charcuterie board. The atmosphere was impeccable. The service was ever better, Jenna answered every crazy question we had (and even the relevant ones). She was amazing. Love this place and will be back!

If I could give this place 10 stars I would gladly do so. I searched for a long time for a venue to host a rehearsal luncheon and was very frustrated until I met Bri, the event coordinator at City Scape Winery. She told me she would take care of everything and she literally did. In just a few short conversations, she had the whole luncheon planned with a delicious menu of hors d'oeuvres, a beautifully presented sandwich, a wine tasting, and a tour of the winery. The service was impeccable. The facility is gorgeous. The staff is so friendly. Bri even personalized our event by having a sign with the bride's and groom's names as we entered the venue. Everyone was beyond impressed and it started the wedding festivities off perfectly. We also met the owners and they were so fun to talk with and very knowledgable about wine. This place is a gold mine. Well done City Scape!

So I finally got a chance to go to this place I've been dying to go to. Very pretty. Love the fact that they have food trucks if you don't want what they have on the menu. I'm not a cheese eater. It was my niece birthday so my sister RSVP a table for us. The greeters were very nice. Our table was occupied in error. They were very polite to move the group and seat us. My sister ordered a charcuterie board and our server asked if she wanted to start a tab. My sister only asked the lady if they were going to keep her card. She said no. Then there was a hold. She asked why was the board $50. The lady explained it was just a hold. Apparently that was inappropriate cause my other niece over heard the server tell another to watch out that was the "GHETTO TABLE" and to "WATCH OUT". Ma'am your hair is blue but the table of black woman are ghetto. My niece mood changed but she didn't tell us why. She only told us after the wine tasting portion was over. Otherwise they would not have gotten my money. I can't give 1 star for what 1 person did but she needs a reality check. That's definitely a 1 and done. I was only fond of 1 wine. I'll stick to my Josh Pinot Noir.

Great wines! I ended up getting the Green Apple Gewurz and was told it’s one of their most popular. I’m definitely coming back to get their dessert wine (coffee delight). It was a lovely experience to try all 9. Our wine guide did an excellent job describing each one and he matched our group’s vibe very well. Both guys who were working when we went were awesome!

Had a delightful escapade at City Scape Winery recently. Our wine-tasting guru, Gina, was a gem. Highly recommend seeking her out for an epicurean adventure. Oh, and don’t miss out on feeding their celebrity mascot, Pino the pig. Trust me, it’s a “wine” of a time!

We had a great time visiting City Scape! I had no idea we had a place so beautiful and enjoyable so close to us! The atmosphere was great, the wine was delicious, the service was awesome! It was very relaxing and enjoyable! I will definitely go back and would highly recommend to anyone wanting to relax and enjoy a couple of hours of down time! It was wonderful!
Tina Hartman — Google review
Great small family owned winery with a fantastic story and really nice wines! I went with a group of ladies, and we had booked in for the morning tour on a Saturday. I definitely highly recommend it. It's a lovely place to grab a glass of wine, some good food from either their kitchen or a food truck if one is on site and relax and enjoy the property.
The only confusing portion was caused by a pretty complete lack of communication from the host checking us in that day. We found out after the tour had already started that they wanted the tour groups to select a glass of wine from the bar beforehand to enjoy on your tour, and to wait either in the bar or in the courtyard itself for the tour to start. That one small misstep has no impact on my rating at all, though. They're absolutely deserving of 5 stars!

We had an amazing time visiting City Scape Winery! I am from Virginia and my husband and I loved visiting wineries and even dabbled in making our own while living there. When we moved back down to South Carolina (my husband's home state) 11 years ago, we new our weekend Winery adventures were pretty much over because there aren't many around here. Well, City Scape Winery has made this Virginia girl feel at home! The wines were delicious, the staff was super friendly/knowledgeable, and the property was gorgeous! We will definitely be back with friends and family in tow!

I first contacted City Scape Winery to inquire about hosting my wedding reception. They were incredibly welcoming and set up an appointment to tour the venue. When I say I could not have asked for a better time.. I COULD NOT have asked for a better time!! They were so polite and very well organized the day of my event. The days leading up to my event Bri, the event planner with City Scape, was in direct contact with me to prepare and deliver exactly what we needed to meet our expectations. We had an event itinerary and it went perfectly!!! The wine of course was amazing, the venue was so beautiful that we used minimal decorations because the venue speaks for itself! I highly recommend attending an event with City Scape. I’m so thankful I trusted them with such a big event in my life and they did not disappoint. I will forever remember their kindness and professionalism.
Park popular with families boasting a carrousel, a small train & a playground, plus athletic fields.
Amazing green space with lots for kids to do. Antique carousel and rotary train are great.
Linda Mitchell — Google review
My son loved the train ride. They only take coins and cash so be prepared. He also mentioned that it seems like a long ride, which was 3 laps so he was very satisfied with the length. There is a nice playground and other attractions as well including an outdoor swimming pool.
David Holycross — Google review
I love this park great for walking and golfing for children to play also. Awesome carousel!
Trasonia Gidney — Google review
One of the best public parks I have ever visited. This park was a staple during my childhood and I have enjoyed the changes and things that have remained the same for my own child to enjoy. The carousel is beautiful and fun, and everyone loves to take a ride or two on the train. The park is clean and well kept, and the Sun shades are a nice touch on hot and sunny days.
Cadence Giddings — Google review
Beautiful park! Great stop on our day road trip!
No picnic area by the main playground so we went around the corner by the ball fields where there is a pavilion and smaller play area to have lunch.
The city webpage about the park should update the hours of summer operations for the train and carousel. There are 2 separate pages for hours of operation info so we took a chance hoping we’d get lucky and they would be running. So weekends only for now.
There are bathrooms in both areas.
Amanda Stipes — Google review
Nice experience. $7 for both my kid and I. We were there for 3 hours. It was really fun. Also the concession stand isn't that expensive. You can buy anything from cheese sticks, pizza, 🥨, and any kind of candy and drinks.

Great park to bring your littles. Only thing I don't like is the teenagers hanging around in the little kid swings and such taking all the fun stuff to do away from littles. The teenagers around here clearly don't have good parents or just don't care about anything but themselves. Make sure to watch your children! .. but the train ride is fun
Park featuring a reservoir, picnic shelters, horseshoes, paved trails, fishing, boating & more.
Brilliant, wide open park with a giant lake surrounded completely by a paved shoreline walkway. Numerous benches, a long bridge and several nice fishing piers are featured. Great place to walk your dog and picnicking spots abound. One whole side of the park is flanked by a sprawling swamp where access is wisely forbidden and well posted. Would be extremely peaceful were it not for the loud gunfire emanating from the firing range across the swamp.
mark johnson — Google review
Folks, we are lucky to have a place like this so close. A very nice 1.5 mile paved walking track, with a beautiful continuous view of the lake and all of the things of nature that come with it. You can watch the eagles fly, the ducks playing on top of the water. You can see fish swimming and an occasional harmless banded water snake. Even deer are present at the park sometimes. This is a pet friendly park, and they have stations that supply bags to pick up poop that comes from your pet (please pick up after your dog). A nice playground for the kids, that includes a zip-line, just a great place to spend some relaxing time.
Craig Fincher — Google review
Beautiful park with paved walking paths that is dog friendly. It also has a kids' playset and a small amphitheater-esque area for meditation or yoga.
Erin Miller — Google review
Park is really beautiful and great for our county! Nice place for a picnic with friends and family. Clean, well-maintained, and usually staff are present. I would recommend the park to anyone whether you are fishing, walking, playing disc golf, canoeing or paddle boating, or just relaxing watching the children play on the new playground. The Zipline is a wonderful addition I had to give it a try myself and must say I felt like a kid again.

My family recently had a picnic near the lake at this park. This is a beautiful and very clean location. It was a plus the restrooms were very close to us. It was very hot day, but the occasional wind blowing off the lake and the water fight kept us cool. I will definitely return. We had an amazing time. I appreciate the park employees being very attentive.

Nice little park with a paved trail around the lake. Pavillions were well maintained.

Beautiful lake and walk around it has so many views and things to do. We just walked around the park for the exercise and beauty. They have fishing areas, rental boats on weekends in the fall, pavilions, disc golf, bathrooms, grills at pavilions and horseshoe pits. I am not the biggest fan of Gastonia but this is a gem in the rough.

My kids really enjoyed the lake and the playground. The atmosphere was very relaxing. I can not wait until we return.

This a beautiful lake with lots of spots to fish. There are Small/Large Mouth Bass, Brim (Sunfish) and Crappie. Did not see a boat launch, but did overhear someone discussing bringing their kayak on occasion. There is a well defined path to walk around the lake if you choose too. Will definitely bring the family again.

Rankin Lake State Park is a beautiful and serene park that offers various outdoor activities. The park is well-maintained, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The lake is perfect for fishing and paddling, boating, kayaking, and the hiking trails offer picturesque views of the surrounding nature.

Such a beautiful park and lake, but I didn't realize the shooting range was right next door. Shots were going off the entire time we walked around the lake. My dog wasn't having it. I would definitely go back during the hours the range isn't open.

This is a nice park with easy walking paths and some pretty, peaceful scenery.
Carowinds is a seasonal, family-friendly amusement park that offers a variety of thrilling rides and attractions. It is known as the Thrill Capital of the Southeast and boasts 13 world-class roller coasters, including Peanuts-themed rides in Planet Snoopy. In addition to these adrenaline-pumping options, there are plenty of other family rides like Boo Blasters on Boo Hill, Skytower, Rip Roarin Rapids, and Dinosaurs Alive featuring lifelike animatronic creatures.
Went with my family during Winter Fest. We had so much fun and all the lights and Christmas trees were beautiful. So much to do and look at and all the hot chocolate you can drink. After the initial purchase all refills are free. Huge plus that the smaller coasters were operational. I love all coasters it was just a little chilly for me but plenty of people were riding so it's nice to have that option

I purchased a seasonal pass & food pass which I highly recommend. A meal can cost around $18 and that's without a drink. I've been going here for years and my daughters really enjoys it. They have a new section Aeronautica which has some cool rides.

Went with my bestie, it was fun, we walked around and rode the Viper, completely shook us!🤣 not much good food choices, panda express is there but seems to be lacking. It was a good walking park though, and there was also a parade which the kids enjoyed. Not that busy when we went there which was a Sunday.

I absolutely love this park! The park is beautiful with a huge variety of rides. The majority of the coasters were great. My favorite coaster was Fury 325! We ate at several restaurants and the food was good. I can't wait to come back!

Cedar Fair parks are fun, but to bad Fury 325 is down because of cracked support.
I'm glad, After Burner still has airplane there. Hint when finished with it can I have it 😉
Park needs a Chicken Shack like Kings Island has.
I have VIP pass but want a waste of money. Bait and switch when they said soda and snacks. I only saw a water pitcher there. I will never get VIP on my pass next year.
Missed Parade that was at 5pm when thinking it was 8pm. Couldn't get info on it inside the park..
All in all, I had a great time. See ya in 2024...

A little on the pricey side but if you want to try to save money you can always go to the website and pay for day tickets a day in advance (for the cheaper tickets in the evening.. It looked like if you paid for tickets for 4pm and after a day in advance, you could get tickets for $37.99). We paid about $43.00 (because we purchased tickets for the same day for 4pm and after) per person but it was better than $75.00 or $80.00 per person that they charge if you try go earlier (for us anyways, to each their own). I definitely recommend buying tickets online, especially if you plan to go at 4 or after, I didn't see any ticket booth open to buy tickets). When I called the number, it straight up told me we had to purchase tickets online. Also, be prepared to go through a metal detector if you have anything metallic on you. I highly recommend checking your pockets and purse and leaving anything unnecessary in the car before walking into the park. They will go through everything you have (and dump it all out on the table in front of everyone) to find out what is causing the metal detector to go off. We had fun though. The kids had fun. That's what it's about anyways. We got to enjoy the park and all of its rides and it was open until 9 that evening (well, it was supposed to be but that's another story for another day). Just so you know, parking has to be paid separately as well and it was $30.00. This was on a Thursday (Just mentioning that because I kept seeing people online saying it was $25.00). That's not the price we paid. Just want you all to be able to make an informed decision and still be able to have fun at a price that works for you. Be safe!

My family and I love coming here. We get Gold passes every year so we can go to Scarowinds and WinterFest. It is crowded so I suggest taking a picture of your child with what they are wearing that day incase you might get separated, especially if you have a runner, and I always put my phone number in my kids bag just to make sure.

Fantastic Park. Very clean, and super clean restrooms (which is an oddity). I will note that the food is good all around. They have a lot of GREAT roller coasters. The Fury is wild!
We have been here 2 times and have had a blast. We had a minor issue with our Fast Pass but Shane in Guest Services was awesome and took care of us.
We will be back soon!

Went for Winter Fest to celebrate New Year's Eve with family. Enjoyed the festive mood, decorations, hot cocoa, and variety of warm beverages. Riding the attractions that were open was fun!

Haven't been to the park since I was 25..Many years ago!!! It's very well kept, lots of attendants to help find your way around!! The food is very expensive so it's worth getting the meal ticket if your gonna be there all day!!! The rides were just as I remembered!!! Fun and full of excitement!!!!

Came here for the first time for Winter fest. Lights were really done well. Copperhead was the best ride they had operating, very fun. Only complaints were that there was no directory of what rides are operational, causing a lot of wandering around. Food was limited as well.

We visited here in the evening. So the entrance admission fee was less than regular. It's the holiday season and pretty chilled at night. Part of the exciting rides were closed, but those roller coaster rides were open. Your teens still can have great exciting fun. For those young children, Snoopy Camp is a good area to impress them. There were also a lot singing/dancing shows to watch. Finally, there was a parade like Disney which brought a perfect end of night. Holiday lighting decorations here is one of the attractions for all visitors.... Merry Christmas and Happy holidays!!

A fun time for all ages, friends, family, & co-workers. Tons to do for all from thrill-seekers to the more calmer individuals. Definitely worth the trip, but be sure to get the season pass and meal plan if you plan on going more than one day, as this will definitely pay for itself.

We had a great time, we arrived early to make sure we avoid the crowd. We got into several lines and by noon the wait time was about an hour. Still we had fun. The park is very nice, clean, the staff is nice, mostly tan by young adults. When we got hungry we ate at the big food court and the food was decent, we got chicken strips and fries. We are definitely coming back

Great place, but they're getting greedy. $30 for parking is ridiculous! Buy tickets online prior to visiting because it's much cheaper.

This visit was for winter fest. Do not go expecting rides very few are running but the lights and magic feeling of Christmas is great try being the kid you know you want to be.we had a blast worth the trip as long as you know what to expect. Also find scrooge and tell him I sent you bet dressed group there and keep a eye out for deer they got loose when we were there

We went for Winter Fest. The park was decorated nicely and I absolutely loved the parade. There were people walking around in costumes of Christmas old. There were performances throughout the park and the times and locations were posted in several locations. We didn't ride while we were there...we just enjoyed the festivities.

Amazing amusement park! Very clean and well kept, staff that we interacted with were all very friendly and helpful. Beautiful decorations for their winter festivities and so many fun things for kids and kids at heart! Everything was easily found and we found the app to be helpful finding locations around the park. Handicap accessible areas and restrooms available.

We were able to go pretty early in the morning, before many people were there and the lines got too long. Every ride had about a 15 minute wait once it got a little more busy. The food places there were good and they have cute souvenirs. The rides are all amazing and so much fun!!!

Lots of fun for all ages. We purchased tickets online and added the meal and drinks for the entire day. Be careful with the food if you are planning to dine later, while it states that food is available up to the time the park closes, we found that most of the "restaurants" were closed an hour earlier.

I visited the place during the opening weekend. It was a fun thrilling experience. Since the park wasn't that busy, there weren'tany long queue for the rides, so was able to go on all the thrilling roller coasters. Fury 325, thunder strike, night hawk are my top 3! I also tried the ripcord and it was an amazing experience!

Terrible experience. Paid a lot of money for myself and 2 grandchildren to get in. Most rides were down and only running intermittently. Not a weather problem. Someone said they were having electrical problems??? Then close down and refund money. See all of the down ride pictures in my view!

Dear Mr Carowinds. Today was spring break and may daughter who is six almost seven and I thought this would be a fun place to adventure. We got to the park just after open. It was easy to get in. Although 30 dollars to park was almost the same price of a third ticket. We entered the park quick and were ready to ride. The park was very clean. My mini me is 46 inch. Which was just under the 48 inch mark. Seems to be a gap in the small kids rides to the big kids 58 inch tall. But we did find a lot to ride. Four roller coasters, three that were age, appropriate and one that was for smaller kids. We did find about seven other things to ride. The haunted house was fun. It was a bit extreme on the prices of food. $17 for a piece of pizza was really pricey. But we did manage to have a great day. At the very end of the day we got one the gear spin. Sophia was running it. She closed the line right after we got in line at 8:02. She was amazing and made our day. As we got on she talked the ride up and made the last ride of the day so much fun. She went far and beyond someone who just enjoyed their job. We did have an amazing day. It would have just been a little been in a year or two when she can ride more of the bigger coasters. See you again in a couple years and thanks for the memories.

Winterfest (New Years Eve celebration) was great! Our family had an amazing time. There were lots of people, but lines were not long for the rides that were open, and hot chocolate and cider were amazing and kept you warm. We enjoyed the rides, the food, the parade, and the live bands! (No issues, and it appeared that everyone was having a good time)
We have season passes, so being able to enjoy a year-round experience is always fun for our family. You can't go wrong buying a season pass if you live in the area.
Great way to end 2023!🎉🎊🎉🎊🎉

The Billy Graham Library is a museum and research facility that celebrates the life and legacy of Billy Graham, one of the most influential Christian evangelists in history. The museum has galleries featuring presentations, artifacts, pictures, voices, and more from Graham's lifetime as well as recreations of crucial moments from his life. The library is always free to visit.
Absolutely beautiful. The tour was amazing, inspiring and touched my heart. As a history lover, I enjoyed seeing all the paraphernalia on display. One of my favourites was the suit he wore to see the Queen. The gardens are a lovely addition, and the house is a must see. It's maintained so well. Staff are kind, friendly, and accommodating. Didn't get to spend a lot of time at the library because we came late but it had a good selection of books and we bought some. My husband and I stopped to just watch Billy Graham's recorded sermons and he is charismatic and the sermons were very relevant to today. So grateful to visit and would highly recommend a visit here! 😁

I visited Billy Graham Library this past week. It was such an amazing experience. The volunteers were friendly and welcoming. There was plenty of parking and no waiting in line although there were plenty of people around visiting.
As I approached the house where the Grahams once lived, I could hear worship music emanating from the garden and throughout the grounds...such a serene atmosphere. There was a prayer bench/garden that I sat at and prayed (see photo).
I was told that the house is 60% of the original house construction the Grahams lived in when he was a young boy from 7-17 years old. Every brick, according to the tour guide, was disassembled, numbered one by one, moved from one location of NC and reassembled/built to sit on this property at the Billy Graham Library. Amazing…
The barn with the cross is the actual Library and where the cafe is located. Again, everyone was welcoming and inviting. The food at the cafe is good and reasonably priced. .

Our first visit to this holy place was truly a blessing. The staff were kind, gracious, and welcoming, embodying the love of Christ in their actions. It was an inspiration to learn about the life and work of Billy Graham, and how he devoted himself to spreading the word of God. His unwavering faith and commitment to serving the Lord is a shining example for us all. We left feeling uplifted and renewed in our own faith. Praise be to God for this wonderful experience.

God bless you when you go to this blessing site.
There are two structures of this site. One is library itself, alone with a bookstore and a shop. They have some decent souvenirs.
The other one is the Graham family homeplace. There are volunteers as tour guides that tell you the family history and the building history.
I especially paid a visit to the cemetery. That's the main reason I came to this site.
I bumped into one volunteer. After he heard my road trip story, he put hand on my head and he prayed for me.
It really touched my heart. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❣️❣️❣️❣️

This is a wonderful place to visit! I was pleasantly surprised at the level of technology used to make this a very interesting stop. The focus of the library is not on the person of Billy Graham, but on how God used him. His evangelical efforts continue in this museum. It was amazing to see the people and places that Billy and Ruth Graham impacted for Christ. Truly an amazing life and a great memorial to his dedication to Jesus Christ!

First time to this museum — it is a very well curated museum. It specializes in detailing the life and ministry of evangelist Billy Graham. The presentation and flow of the museum was very well done. Lots of information, lots of artifacts. If one is a fan of Graham or just curious as to who he was, it should be satisfying. Admission was free though they will accept donations. The museum part takes about 1.5 hours to do. Went on a Monday, it was not busy.

Very moving and heart warming. he was such a wonderful evangelist. Unfortunately, I never appreciated him growing up as I did when I got older. I had tears when I walked through the exhibits. You can visit his boyhood home which has been moved to that site. He and his wifeare buried next to the museum. It is truly a fantastic place to visit. Absolutely a must. Staffed by volunteers The restaurant served delicious food very reasonably priced.

Entry is free and they even give you a gift bag for filling out a survey because they truly want to make the museum a blessing to people. There is a tour that takes you through the life of Billy Graham and family. The first half or so is guided with the last half being self directed. There's a bathroom at the entry and half way through the museum. You learn so much about him the impact he made. In the same building is an adorable gift shop and cafe.
You'll also find a prayer garden where Billy and Ruth are buried along with his childhood home that was disassembled and rebuilt there. You can tour both at a self directed pace.
Most of the workers are volunteers and know a ton about the Graham family and are even ready to pray with you.
What an amazing way for Billy and Ruth Graham to reach people after their earthly life! A must go when in Charlotte.

Offers a self tour of the home of Billy Graham. The home and library have plenty of memorabilia from Mr & Mrs Graham’s life and ministry. Plenty of friendly staff throughout to help and answer any questions. Large bookstore and a place to eat inside. Walking trails with benches and the final resting place of the Grahams on site. Very nice place to visit.

Weeknight visit in Dec. Had prebooked tickets (general admission/parking free).
Beautiful place that is well-maintained and well-staffed with volunteers and paid help. Shuttles came quickly as it was not busy. Live nativity with bonus kangaroo. Waking paths were well-lit. Workers said there were carolers on-site for 30 minutes but we never saw them or heard ANY music on the grounds throughout our trip (outside of the Journey of Faith tour which showcased Billy Graham's life of evangelism). This tour was free and lasted about 90 min. They have kids' activity sheets to keep them engaged in the tour (two versions: younger and older). 8 year old did the pictire-based scavenger-hunt one and 12 year old did the older version which held their attention and resulted in a small gift for each of them in the gift shop.
Carriage rides were additional, $12 adult/$6 child. We didn't participate in the sit-down dinner as it was sold out when I booked tickets at Thanksgiving time. (If you're on the mailing list list, they send an email when the dinner bookings start in early Nov.)
The Bank of America Stadium is a football stadium located in uptown Charlotte, North Carolina and home to the NFL's Carolina Panthers. The 75,523-seat stadium has been designed specifically for NFL football and features luxurious boxes and an open-air grass field. The stadium also has a large tailgating area which makes it popular with fans of all teams.
Overall my experience was good. I am Atlanta fan and came to the opening game where Charlotte FC played LA Galaxy. Good atmosphere. Looking forward to more games here.
The only negative: need better security at the gates when coming in and fixing the lines. I think this will come in time as they handle big games.

As far as NFL stadiums go, I would put BOA in the middle of the pack as far as how nice it is. We have been here for a few events the last couple of years and always have a good time. There are lots of food options in the concourse to choose from as well as plenty of drink options. Our last visit we were up in the suite section, which is really nice. Everything up there is air conditioned and we had everything catered for food and drinks, which made everything pretty easy and quick. I would always recommend getting a Bojangles box, it is worth the money more than anything in the stadium.

A clean and stunning stadium in downtown Charlotte. The city skyline made for a beautiful backdrop; especially when all the lights started coming on. The staff were friendly and helpful. There were a few unruly fans in our section and security did a great job diffusing the situation and kept everyone around from being interrupted from watching the game. The food selection was beyond amazing. The souvenir cup for free refills is definitely worth it. A great stadium to enjoy a game!

I came here for the Panthers Bucs Game. It was with some family friends and it was my first ever NFL game. The atmosphere here is amazing and they have a really nice stadium and everything. They lost 10-3 but it was alright. I was in one of the sections near the scoreboard but still they were great seats and saw a lot. Wasn’t terrible coming in or leaving and it was a fun game and fun experience. I’m a NY Giants fan but I’d certainly go to another panthers game knowing I’m from Durham and it’s not terribly far

Home of the roaring Panthers and the cheers of their loyal fans 🏈🐾 Welcome to Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina! 🌟 #PantherNation #CharlotteNC #FootballSeason
This stadium is located in the heart of uptown Charlotte. The seating is comfortable and offers great sightlines of the field. They offered a variety of food and beverage options, from classic stadium fare like hot dogs and nachos to more upscale options like BBQ and craft beer. Lines can get long, especially during peak game times, so it is advisable to arrive early or plan accordingly.
The stadium also offers a variety of amenities, including a team store, a Panthers Hall of Honor, and a kid’s zone. The team store offers a wide selection of merchandise, from jerseys and hats to unique souvenirs. The Hall of Honor is a great way to learn about the history of the Carolina Panthers and the NFL. The kid’s zone offers a variety of fun activities for children, including inflatable games and a climbing wall.
One of the unique features of Bank of America Stadium is the ability to take a tour of the stadium. Tour guides take visitors through the stadium, including the locker rooms, press box, and field. The tours are informative and provide a behind-the-scenes look at the stadium.

My son and I were in attendance for the Charlotte FC inaugural home match. The stadium is a very nice venue, especially considering it's age. Entry into the stadium was extremely quick. It was my first NFL game and my 58th birthday!! Except for the loss and the cost of some items, I was very happy with my experience. Tickets were cheap because it was a preseason game. Parking cost near the stadium was astronomical, so I opted for free parking and the low-cost LYNX rail ride into downtown Charlotte. It was easy, safe, and convenient. Stadium concessions were very pricey, but I was impressed with the fact they offered alcoholic drinks other than just beer: You could get cocktails, wine, and hard seltzer too!

First time attending a game here and the experience was very good. My daughter and I came to town to watch our Dallas Cowboys play the Panthers and I gotta hand it to the Panthers organization, this was a very smooth and well organized event. I would recommend arriving when the gates open and just walk around and familiarise yourself with where things are located (it’s really pretty self explanatory and well marked). The staff members are very helpful and friendly. Plenty of security. It really was a very enjoyable experience especially since the Cowboys won

We had an excellent first time experience here at the Bank of America stadium in Charlotte. We sat in the silver club seats (section 313), which gives you access to a comfy indoor area with nice restrooms and plenty of bar & food options. The seats were comfortable folded-chair-back seats. There are two large score board screens at each end zone, and the game info (down, yards, play clock, etc) can also be seen directly across the field on a smaller screen. The staff was very prepared and made sure things went very smoothly, such as security check and scanning your phones for tickets. If you want to be sheltered from weather and sun, choose the higher rows in this section (19-21).

Back of America Stadium is a great place to watch football! This stadium gets a bad rap as talks of a new stadium are continually being mentioned. Let's be honest, BofA has some old bones. Some of the railings are bent. There are parts that are rusted. Some of the chairs are squeaky. It has character for its age. The best thing about BofA stadium is that there isn't a bad view in the stadium. You may be winded going up those flights of stairs, but you can still see everything just fine. A bonus is if you sit on the 550s side, you'll get a great view of the skyline. The concessions are solid. Bojangles, Krispy Kreme, & Domino's are our usual choices. The beer prices are as expected ($11-12 each). Whatever may happen to this stadium, I don't know, but for now, I'll continue to enjoy football games here & I hope to someday catch a concert here as well.
The NASCAR Hall of Fame Museum in Charlotte, North Carolina is dedicated to the sport of stock car racing and features interactive exhibits and a theater. The museum has grown from dirt tracks to super-speedways over the years and features memorabilia from famous NASCAR drivers. Race fans can visit the museum even if there is no race meeting going on.
My boyfriend and I came here for a day date, there was no line or anything- we like to do things that are fun and interactive. This was my first time at the hall of fame and there was more to do than I expected. The tickets are pricey but It would be a great place to bring kids if I had any. But it’s great for just adults too! I definitely recommend doing the racing simulation if you go, they were closing soon and let us do it for free and it was super fun, but typically you have to pay extra for it. We live uptown so we didn’t have to pay for parking but I suggest finding street parking and walking a little bit as opposed to a parking deck.

If you are in Charlotte, it is a fun place to visit and good for all age groups. You can buy tickets at the booth or book online, either you it works. Consider family membership option if you are family of two and have 2-3 kids, as the family membership provides more value for money and you get two buddy passes which you can use immediately during the visit if you have more than two adults in your group. Simulation drive is included with the family membership, so value instead of combo tickets. It is a long line sometimes and probably most times to get into simulation. You can easily spend 3-4 hours at the museum, rest rooms are clean and very accessible.

Its interesting and they have guided tours as well as a pit crew test where you can compete against other people. Not very expensive and they have a military discount, but not first responder for entrance tickets. It's interesting and neat to see the cars. But for 34 dollars and 12 dollars for parking. Unless your a really big fan of racing save yourself some money and skip this. There's a 12 minute movie that was interesting. But the best thing that is offered is the simulation it will have a long wait unless your going to stay all day plan on going on it once. Nascar is a billion dollar sport and this was the best they could do for its hall of fame, sorry but it's a big disappointment.

We had an absolutely amazing time here. About $ 80+ for 3 people with 2 of our tickets being discounted military. There are packages you can purchase to include a simulator ride. Very interactive. You get a card to scan at the stations for more information or to activate the kiosks. You can take a picture and get your face and name on the large jumbo screen with your favorite drivers you select underneath your picture welcoming you. There was a simulator qualifier, the real thing and a timed pit crew simulator. Super cool museum to view the history of NASCAR, owner and driver history. Amazing time for all.

Best part was the staff, they were all very happy to help, explain and keep you engaged. Definitely recommend the simulator combo. Didn't eat there but food smelled and looked delicious.

We got to go after hours with our convention, so it was pretty packed, and im not sure how that compares to a normal experience. If you're interested in Nascar, you'll love this place! There is lots of information for the history buffs, and lots to see! There was even interactive displays and "games."

Pretty cool for a half day activity and have fun games and activities for the kids. Wish there was more representation of diversity and some bumper cart action to tie it all together. A bit underwhelming for how big the building is.

Great for kids, honestly it was much more interactive than I thought it would be. They have an individual card for you to use and scan throughout the tour to customize your experience, lots of models of the engineering and building of the cars too. They went all out on decoration and props, the place is extremely clean and well kept. 4 stories, but with elevators and ramps leading all the way up it's not a difficult jot though they said it takes about 3 hours to complete we were done in about 2. If you pay the extra for the driving simulator, there will be a bit of a wait and we didn't have that kind of time. All in all, great value and a good memory

I’m not a NASCAR fan but the hall of fame is definitely worth visiting if you are in town and have time. We visited on a Monday right when it opened and it was empty. We did the racing simulator multiple times as well as the pit crew station; both were fun. There are a lot of exhibits for those that are fans. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and clearly loved working there.

Great place to visit if you're a Nascar fan of any kind that said, overall great place to visit. Even if you are just a car fan, it's well laid out and very interesting.
Extremely clean, if you care to eat there the cafeteria is not overpriced and is much faster than trying to eat in Buffalo wild wings which is attached. You can wait there till you're gray-haired and probably never get a table.
Parking is just around the corner from the front door and easily accessible to the Hall of Fame

What a fantastic experience. One of the friendliest environments I have ever been in. From the front desk to the workers on the floor it’s like they were all trained at Chick fil a. Super high level of customer service at the hall of fame. The exhibits were beautiful and the car simulators were awesome. But the most fun had to be the pit lane simulator where you physically have to do a pit stop on a car. Such a great place to visit I highly recommend it to anyone and everyone

We visited early afternoon on a weekday, no waiting to get in and I recommend you pick a ticket package that best suit your needs. You may not want to take part in all the Halls attractions. We did the simulator and photo with lunch credit package. You also get a $10 speed (gift) shop voucher included. The displaces are beautifully displaced with detailed narration. We enjoyed ourselves.

Looking back at old pictures then realized I need to tell you to go! I went August 2022. I did not know exactly what to expect, but it exceeded any expectations. It was large, clean, informative, interactive and interesting. Its very well made. A must see in Charlotte.

I'll admit, I'm not a die-hard NASCAR fan, but my visit to the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte was surprisingly enjoyable! From the moment I walked in, I could appreciate the rich history and the excitement that surrounds NASCAR.
The exhibits were thoughtfully put together with interactive displays and engaging videos, making it easy for someone like me to learn and get into it. I was especially impressed by the Hall of Honor, which introduced me to the legends of the sport and their incredible stories.
Even though I'm not a racing enthusiast, I had a blast with the simulator experiences. It was a unique chance to feel what it's like to be on a NASCAR track, and I found it really fun.
The staff members were friendly and happy to share their knowledge, which helped me understand more about the sport. And the gift shop had some cool NASCAR merchandise that even a casual fan like me couldn't resist.
So, even if you're not a NASCAR fanatic, the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte can still be a fun and educational experience. It certainly was for me!
Jacob Edmisten — Google review
I had a great time exploring the history and memorabilia of the Nascar Hall of Fame. Seeing the cars up close and on the banked track of the rotunda, you really get a feel for what it's like being a driver. Upon entry, every ticket holder receives a plastic, credit card sized card that helps you interact with the displays and make it a more personal experience. With the race simulator (for an additional charge) and the pit crew challenge (included in general admission), you get to experience what it's like to sit in the driver seat and be a pit crew member.
There are also tons of artifacts on display with a brief story behind the person that wore, drove, owned, or turned a wrench on. With so much to see and learn about, you really need multiple days to explore, but it's also makes a good day trip. Whether you are a Nascar fan or not, it's worth seeing at least once.

We were in town for a conference and I decided to take my little one to check out the cool cars! Let me just say he loved it! He is a big fan of lightning McQueen, so that was a lovely surprise for him!
I purchased the number three combo pack and it was definitely worth it! The barbeque beef sandwich was great! You also get a $10 credit for the gift shop which is pretty cool and a free photo! There is the option to buy a second photo for $15.
The employees were friendly and it was fun exploring the museum!

I don’t know what kid or adult wouldn’t like this place!! Definitely going back! Well worth the money. I bought tickets online, but there still would have been no wait! Very organized and structured. Bought a package that comes with the simulator, lunch, a certificate to the gift shop and other goodies! Very interactive and educational museum! There’s like 3 or 4 levels to the museum so wear your walking shoes. A theater with a 20 minute show is included you can watch at your leisure.

Beautiful facility with kind and welcoming staff. The facility is setup so nicely! You will see and learn all aspects of NASCAR including detailed history. Don't skip the simulator and pit crew challenge. Well worth the price of admission. There is limited street parking but there is an attached parking garage. We went on a weekday (Thursday) and it wasn't busy.

A truly amazing experience. The architecture of the venue alone is a marvel. The cars, suits, helmets, trophies and other exhibits are wonderfully arranged. Do not miss trying the race simulation in a model car and the pit stop challenge. Something not to miss by any means when in Charlotte

Huge place. So much to see and do. So reasonably priced for all you get. Simulators, pit stop challenge and so many more interactive exhibits. We stayed 3 hours but, could have stayed 5. We loved it.

If you're a die hard NASCAR fan who appreciates the history, you'll likely really enjoy a visit to the hall of fame. For me as a casual fan at best, I had a very underwhelming experience. Also, I wouldn't bring kids here, they'll be very bored. The best thing was that all of the workers I encountered were nice and helpful. Everything else I found to be very boring and quite overpriced. The driving simulation was kind of cool, but was quite far from a realistic experience overall.
If the cost of admission was half of what they charge, I'd feel a bit more like I got my money's worth. Otherwise, it's just boring and overpriced. Plus you have to pay for parking too.

This place is fun for all! Knowledgeable about the sport and even had live simulators to enjoy from racing to pit stop challenges. Recommend getting the package to eat and enjoy free memorabilia and photos with crew or family

Pretty cool experience. I was able to go through a company party so everything was available for use. The driving simulation was really cool. You first qualify on a machine with a steering wheel and then you get in an actual life size Nascar and race with a screen in front of you. 16 people were able to race each other at once. They also had a tire changing challenge. The whole walkway up goes through all the degrees of the tracks. It was pretty cool. It also had a ton of memorabilia for Nascar fans.

Fantastic museum completely different than I was expecting.
The cars are very well arranged, clean, all details and information about them with pictures and displays.
Information about the roads where they race, angle of the road in all angles. Their car simulator is a must to do for if you want to have the feeling of drive those cars at high speed.
They have a theater room to show movies of cars competition.
Better yet, they have discounts for seniors.
I recommend this place to all ages and gender.
Lake Norman is the largest man-made lake in the state, boasting an array of fish species that make it a popular attraction for families. The area offers plenty of recreational activities such as kayaking, biking, hiking, and swimming, making it an ideal destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Visitors can also take advantage of the educational center to learn about the lake's history and its reach throughout North Carolina.
Awesome lake over 52 mi.² and 515 linear miles of shoreline. Clear water, sandy beach, islands, lovely scenery and beautiful houses.

For us this was an exploratory visit.
From Charlotte (south of the lake), Google brought us to the northern most point, where the visitors' center is located.
I expect there are other points on the lake that would be more convenient to Charlotte but going to the visitor center explained the park's main feature is the bike trails (Hiking too, I guess).
Visitor center: gift shop & public restrooms.
No entry fee.
No parking fee.
Picnic areas, some with BBQ pits, for family sized group. Larger areas for organized events also available (reservations may be required).
Canoe & paddle board rentals.
Nearby boat ramp available.

Place is absolutely beautiful. Great place to hang out. Been here a lot, so it’s definitely worth it. Other than the water getting dirty at times, it’s a great destination to hang out. Weather sometimes gets on your nerves, but that with everything that goes on. Definitely coming back here for my next visit.

It truly is our own Inland Sea. Grew up on the shores of LKN and now spend just about every weekend March through September on the lake. Absolutely the best sunsets around.

Wow! This lake is a perfect slice of paradise smack dab in the middle of North Carolina. Great for boaters, swimmers, or just chilling on a quiet dock somewhere. The water is murky green and you can’t really see to the bottom, and there are small leeches in the clay that’ll attach to your feet and legs, so there’s all that. The Duke Nukem power plant pulls water from Lake Norman to cool off the reactor, which I’ve heard heats the water a bit in the South end. Pretty sure it’s not radioactive but I didn’t bring my Geiger counter. If this place ever goes Three Mile Island, those million dollar homes will be worthless, so rent, and enjoy the lake while you can. Watch out for Normie the Lake Monster. Reports say you’ll see him if you have too many beers.
Chuck Fresh — Google review
Great family place. Kayaking, biking, hiking, or swimming, or camping you name it. You can do it all at Lake Norman.
You can visit the educational center to learn all about the Lake and how far it extends throughout the state.
Walk through the trails, and dip your feet in the water.

Beautiful hike! My husband and I took the Lake Shore Trail to the 2.5 mile point and then cut to the short trail (it was hot and we didn't have enough water)
The trail is natural and in a few spots not really well marked. Roots and rocks make it important to watch your step.
We saw lots of spiders, a black snake and squirrels, but its the trees that really make it! The canopy gets really thick and the path shaded.
We can't wait to go back!

The Children's Museum Discovery Place Kids-Huntersville is an interactive museum for kids that features exhibits in various themed areas and live shows. The center is at the forefront of STEM education in North Carolina, with little activities to keep children busy while they explore the museum.
Went here with my sister and her kids. We had a great time here and I loved watching the kids enjoy themselves. There is so much to do and it's all so educational. I loved the little Cafe area. The rock wall was also a favorite. The underwater room was super cool. The upstairs portion has things they can build and race. I loved experiencing the smaller scale Discovery Place that was truly geared towards educational fun! I would definitely recommend going here and taking your children. You'll enjoy it just as much as them. They also have a program where if you get food stamps you can get in for less than $5 a person! It's something different than the park you always go to and like I said...educational. The kids loved the water area as well. Perfect for a cheap fun rainy day activity!!

Good place to take the kids for fun. A little pricey for what they offer especially that that many exhibits/experiences are defect/not functioning. The sound at the show (dental show - book reading) was too loud and not clear. Not very clean and not well maintained. Pretty hot inside.

My kids loved this place and didn’t want to leave! Great variety of activities to spark their imaginations and build their thinking skills while playing. Came here on a Saturday after hours for a kids' birthday party. I have never been and didn't really know what to expect. It's basically like a bigger version of a park for kids. They have a big play area, but the stations are more tailored to everyday things. For example, they have a grocery store, a post office, a doctors office, etc...where kids can just play and pretend to be a doctor, a cashier, firemen, etc. They have a water station, which I believe is for sensory play and a state where they do presentations and experiments. Overall, this is a great place for kids 8 and under.

Seriously the coolest place!!! My kids could've spent all day here!! My almost 2 year old and 5 year old had so much fun!! Lots of stuff to do for both ages. It's definitely pricey (almost $50 for 3 of us). Parking is easy in the parking deck next door. I bought our tickets online. Ok, so kids love this place. It's a great way to spend an hour or so, especially if weather is bad. My childrens favorite is the grocery store and restaurant that's well put together and well done. A couple caveats: we got there right when it opened and they are cleaning the exhibits. They close them down whilst cleaning. I'm all about germs not being everywhere but just getting in the place and not being able to visit a spot is frustrating for the amount you pay for this place. Perhaps consider cleaning Before opening? 🤔 Also you're not supposed to sit on the cow, lol. Everyone who passes hoists their child up there to sit. A sign may deter this behavior but I guess its just part of our nature to want to sit upon a fake cow. 😅

We had a lot of fun but there was a lot of mess. Parents not teaching kids to follow the rules ruining the fun for others.

Definitely a great place to bring the kids. It's big enough to let a couple hours go by and while they play. It's modular in the fact that every few steps has something new to engage in, whether it's arts and crafts, an aquatic themed room, a fire truck, and a variety of other things. You as the parent might even have fun with a thing or two there.
SEA LIFE Charlotte-Concord Aquarium, situated in the Concord Mills Mall, offers a diverse range of family-friendly exhibits featuring an array of sea creatures. These exhibits provide play areas and group packages for added convenience. With over 5,000 underwater creatures including jellyfish, clown fish, green moray eels, octopus, triggerfish, and various sharks, visitors can explore more than 20 themed showcases that mirror North Carolina's natural surroundings.
I had a great time! Reasonable price for 6 hours of aquarium time! Walk-through took about 45 minutes at a slow-casual pace. Beautifully themed displays, fish, jellies, and turtles live in close up exhibits. A touch pool lets you touch urchins and sea stars. Gift shop at the end had a lot of varied choices for souvenirs.

We went here while we were on vacation. Very busy place. It was just us two adults with no kids. We really enjoyed it, it was smaller than most aquariums we have been to, but the price was good and we did enjoy it. They did have several different species they are trying to save. Very informative if you read the information provided. The staff were friendly and actually seemed to like their jobs.

Wonderful little aquarium. Very nicely done. Neat tunnel and varying views of large tanks. You could buzz thru quickly, but we spent a couple hours really watching everything. They do have an intractive touch tank as well. We were surprised it was located at a mall, but that made it very convenient.

MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE!!!!
Please do not judge this place by what you see from the outside. Not that the outside is in bad shape or anything, but you would think that there's not a lot to see............you would be wrong!!
This is a very informative, colorful, and clean aquarium. You can tell that the sea life is well cared for and that the habitat encourages growth and comfort.
I actually came for Beasley but found so much more. I definitely recommend for children, family and friends, and even an evening date. I can't imagine this place will disappoint. ESPECIALLY THE TUNNEL!!!
I hope you enjoy the pictures and videos. This place is as cool as it looks.
PS - If you time your visit right, you can watch them feed throughout the aquarium.

Great experience but the cost should be much lower for the size. We paid more here to visit that many other aquariums that were double and triple the size. Had a great time. It took about an hour to walk through everything, but you could return at any point during the day. We also did the behind the scenes tour and the host, Matt, was great. He also interacted with the adults and kids in the group. Amanda was amazing at answering questions. We bought the VIP picture pass and it was definitely worth it.
Hades Daughter — Google review
Little pricey for as small as it is. I was not expecting it to be in a mall. Can get crowded in a heartbeat with little wiggle room to see anything or to get away. They do let you go through as many times as you want, so that helps, some. They have a tunnel which is cool but the lighting isn't set up well, so it's not easy to tell what you are looking at sometimes.
I did NOT realize this was geared directly at kids. My bad for not doing more research but it's super kid friendly, which means it's not adult friendly in terms of viewing or moving around. Also, by kid friendly, I mean exhausted parents that don't give AF what their kids are doing, which is screaming, yelling, tapping glass, shoving each other, crying and running.
So yeah, I just wanted out of our Airbnb on a rainy day and thought a visit to an aquarium would be cool. It wasn't as awesome as I hoped. But hey, floaty-butt turtles always make any day better.

We visited while we were in town for the holiday weekend. SeaLife was fantastic and they had a lot of aquatic life. We loved our time there. My husband and I are both in our 20’s without kids and we were pleasantly surprised by this aquarium! They had a good amount of different animals including stingrays, sharks, fish, turtles, and many more. We were able to touch starfish and sea urchins. I enjoyed the turtle rehab section where we could see a turtle who was rescued from the ocean because he was stranded and injured. They had a cool tunnel you could walk through to see the animals as well. This was a great experience for the price!

Sea Life was nice. We were hoping it was a longer undersea stroll but the location is probably the reason. All the exhibits were breath taking.
I'm not sure but I was trying to add a video. I was trying to show an exhibit where it looked like skinny snakes poking out of sand trying to get the small fish. It was so amazing to watch. I can't seem to show.

Went there with a group of people, and it was a blast. I loved the little shipwreck they had and we loved doing the stamps. Even though it was a great experience overall, it was kind of short. But yet again not surprising since it's in a mall. It's a great place to go to with kids or to go to on a day out.

How delightful to have an aquarium within the Concord Mills mall! We're not from the area and I love aquariums so this was a pleasant surprise. I was really impressed with the size of the aquarium itself and everything it has to offer. They have a touch pool which is fun for kids and adults alike. They have an underwater tunnel which is exciting. I think the porcupine fish might've been my favorite. He was huge! Highly recommend and will visit again.

For being a small aquarium in a mall, they have several fish and even a cute rehabilitation tank that currently is hosting Beasley. It was really cute and had a lot of exhibits in it, surprisingly, including an interactive touch pool. My nephews enjoyed it, smallest barely wanted to leave. I would definitely recommend it for younger kids or people who love sea life in general.

It is bigger than I expected it and they’ve done a great job with this aquarium. Organize, clean, different fishes. Easy to navigate. Pretty good size, not too big or too small. The staff were polite.
I went Friday at 12pm and there were only two more families at the time so it was a great experience.
Once you buy tickets you can leave and get back inside as many times as you want. At least that’s what they told us on this date.

When I saw this aquarium was located in a mall I had low expectations. I could not have been more incorrect. Not only was this location large enough to entertain adults for an hour, but they have an ocean tunnel, in a mall! The facility was well kept, the tanks were all large and not overcrowded, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Plus it was affordable. 10/10 would recommend checking it out while you're in the area. Then you can go shopping in the mall, knowing you're in the same building with fun things like sharks, eels, and jellyfish 💛

Sea Life Charlotte-Concord is an incredible little place. I worked with several staff members (Kaitlin, Jasmine, and Erin) who treated me like royalty to make for a very VERY special night.
I was able to set up a beautiful proposal and evening and they helped at every step. They set up special lights and stayed open a little late to help make this magical moment happen.
The aquarium itself is very nice. The decorations are perfect (lots of pirate decor) and the flow from room to room makes the aquarium feel five times bigger than it actually is.
I am forever grateful to the lovely people that helped me propose to my wonderful partner. And I will be back many times to enjoy both the aquarium and the memories made that evening.

An aquarium that's:
1. In the mall
2. Has a touch tank
3. Has a scavenger hunt and other kid activities
4. Has an awesome gift shop
5. Excellent staff
Yep... Take my money!

The Pit Indoor Kart Racing is an entertainment hub that offers a variety of activities including go-kart racing, laser tag, mini golf, a climbing wall, arcade games and billiards. It provides an ideal venue for families to have fun and spend quality time together. The go-kart track is particularly popular among children who love the thrill of competing with each other. The facility also hosts birthday parties which are well managed by attentive party hosts.
First off, don't expect to spend just a few minutes here, plan on more than a few hours! Kids carts are FAST, and if you're 58" or taller you can ride the adult ones that are faster! With laser tag, arcade, escape rooms, axe throwing, and blacklight mini golf all indoors, this is an awesome place for an incredibly fun time! Music is great and staff is impeccable. Always on point, helpful and funny. 10 out of 10!

I had an AMAZING time here!!! HIGHLY recommend. I went for my brother’s birthday party and afterwards decided I will DEFINITELY be hosting my birthday party here as well. We are both teenagers. We went go-karting, did an escape room, laser tag, had pizza, and played some of the arcade games. Special thanks to Ace for helping us at laser tag, Aiden in the escape room, and Josh at the arcade!

Can get very busy but we always have a great time. Sometimes you may wait to check in but considering how many activity options/fun stuff they offer it is 100% worth a little line. Kids/teens always have a blast. The escape rooms are great.

Had a fantastic time right out of the ball park. We had fantastic staff, one girl with purple hair who made the kids feel extra special as well as the overall hustle of downstairs employees. The karts were super fast and my kids loved them! Long wait but we were notified at the registration about wait times and we chose to stick around and do our other activities in between like our lazertag, mini golf, spin zone and arcade… which you would think would’ve broken my wallets back and my own, but was extremely surprised at my total at the end. Best bang for my buck! Will be back.

This place sounds amazing online. But in real life, it's not so nice. It could be. It just needs a little TLC. All of the pool tables were out of order. Both of the air hockey machines were out of order. Most of the arcade games we played had something wrong with them. The go carts looked fun. We never found the batting cages. Definitely a disappointment. We should have gone to Frankie's. It more expensive, but worth it.

Good place for fun for the kids but lines can be long even though you can sign waiver online ! A lot of activities to do ! My little girls are 8 and were scared at first when you walk in and see the older kids go karts speedind around track ! Scared them not wanting to go in but after we went upstairs to other activities they wanted to stay !
A lot of steps to go up and down !

This place is great they have so much to do go-karts adult/young kids and younger kids go-karts for less experienced kids. Rockwall for climbing, arcade, laser tag, axe throwing, escape rooms, mini golf and bumper cars. Great place to spend quality time with the family. Mini golf is blacklight so the kids love it. The escape rooms are great lots of different themes and hour and half hour. The go-karts were faster than I expected it was cool.

SO much fun and SO much to do! Go karts for kids and adults, laser tag, axe throwing, mini golf, arcade, party rooms, concessions, bumper cars, escape rooms etc. We've had many birthday parties here and have gone many times in-between just as a family. There's things for both kids and adults which makes for hours of fun! Highly recommend!

Great place for a birthday celebration or just to have some fun. We took our 13 year old son and his friends there for his birthday. The indoor track is quite big and wide enough for the to really side by side race on. There are at least 2 different types of carts there, one for younger kids that go up to 35mph, which is what they rode on, and one for older teens and adults that go up to 45mph. They got to race for about 7-8 laps, and had a total blast! The talked about the race the whole way home. The birthday package also included a round of laser tag and 25 arcade tokens. The laser tag was a big hit as well. The laser tag arena was big and had a lot of great ambush spots. The arcade had a good variety of video games as well as ticket award games (skeeball, etc) to exchange for prizes. All of the facilities were very clean, well maintained, in very good operating condition, and very presentable. All of the staff we encountered were friendly, helpful, and knew what they needed to do. Kudos to the team there for all that. The kids had a great time and we as parents felt that we definitely got what we paid for. Overall it was a great experience for everyone. Highly recommended.

The Charlotte Motor Speedway is a highly-rated, 138,000 seat stadium which hosts NASCAR races as well as other events. It's also home to a drag racing track and other attractions.
We did the drive through fan experience and it was way better than you would imagine from their website description. The history of the track was great and we got to drive and walk on the track and stop in the winners circle as well as the start/ finish line. It was pretty awesome!

Very nice and updated track, huge! Seating is bench seating with looonnggg benches, so if you are seated in the middle grab your food and go potty before sitting down, it is nearly impossible to slid back out. Be prepared for the children, this track offers $10 child tickets, so if you are not kid friendly, you may want to skip this one. Otherwise, great food & bars on site, plenty of bathrooms, and handicapped accessibility. Overall a great track!

We went here with a group from our neighborhood for lunch and a tour. Lunch was wonderful, but the tour was awesome! We were driven on the track and took a fast and furious drive around the turns!
So much fun! If you ever have the chance to do this tour, do it!

Christmas lights at the speedway were wonderful. Although the wait was nearly 4 hours, once we made it to the lights it was like we never even waited. Such a magical experience with lots of effort put into setting up the lights, the music, everything. Great way to celebrate Christmas imo

I absolutely LOVED this track. It was my first experience with a Nascar event and I enjoyed every moment! It was a bit confusing getting to my seat but the staff was very helpful.
Parking was complicated. The people directing traffic sent us to an RV park and we drove in circles for 20 minutes trying to get out. It was 20$ once we found a place to park.
As always, I want more vegan options but the atmosphere was decent and the patrons were diverse and kind.

Visited the Speedway for the Xtreme Xperience and all I can say is wow! There was also a similar NASCAR drive event happening there at the same time so it was great to hear the real sounds associated with stock car racing while simultaneously experiencing the high speed / exotic cars we were there to drive! Ventured to the restrooms while there and was pleasantly surprised how clean they were.

Went to the Arca and truck race.. both were awesome and good seats. Food is way overpriced and even water. Some places were selling water for $5-$10 outrageous. So bring your own and pick up food before, and they did not accept cash for anythingthing in the gates, so it was card only

The speedway is spectacular and to talk about The Bank of America ROVAL 400. It is an unforgettable experience filled with energy and adrenaline. The race lasts just over 3 hours with 109 laps, each featuring 17 thrilling turns. Watching the cars zoom by is exhilarating, and the engine sounds are unique. Don't miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity; it's perfect for family outings, hanging out with friends, or even a memorable first date. It's an experience that will stay with you forever.

We went to see Christmas decorations. The entrants cost is 45 $ per car. And its a bit much for the light show that we saw. There are some nice lights decorations and there're very simple one. They have a village Christmas lights in the middle where you can walk, grilled smorth on fire. And there's a shop you can buy different things. Also you can buy snacks.
There's a screen you can watch a movie seating in a car.

The whole facility around CMS is top tier. I love this track especially for the Coke 600 on Labor Day Weekend. It’s one of NASCAR’s most iconic tracks and I always enjoy spending a weekend here. The whole track area is laid out very nicely and we even found a great area for parking! The fan zone and fan experience is amazing as well. Overall Charlotte is one of the best NASCAR Tracks to visit for a race weekend.
The Lazy 5 Ranch, situated in Mooresville, NC on Highway 150, is a fascinating zoo featuring both domestic and exotic animals from six continents. The admission fee is reasonable and includes wagon rides and petting areas. Visitors can also purchase feed buckets for each person in the vehicle to interact with the animals up close. It's an exciting destination point for locals or out-of-towners seeking a fun-filled adventure with family or friends.
Absolutely one of the greatest ways to spend a day! Well worth the $15. The land in itself is gorgeous, but the animal experience is one of a kind. The animals are people friendly & eager to eat! They have delicious treats too...funnel cakes, fried PB & J, ice cream, etc. It is evident the animals are well loved & taken care of. I highly recommend for kids, but it is definitely a great place for a fun date. I will be returning.

Absolutely amazing! I have been on multiple African safaris and this is better. The sheer number of animals, their size and personality is incredible (and hilarious). Getting to interact with the animals is an incredible experience. Highly recommend this as a Charlotte-area day trip! Make sure to leave time for a car wash on the way home though, the animal drool is real 😂

Thoroughly enjoyed seeing and Interacting with the different kids of animals. My favorites were all of them!
My only concern was that the Giraffes need a bigger place to run,Instead of the corral they're in.
I will be going back again .
The animals look well fed and 😊 happy. My grandson who's 2, fell in love with the lamas.
I really hope the next time we go there in August, the Giraffes have bigger place to roam and run around in
Blessings to the Owners

We love coming here. We come every year, at least once, and see what’s new. I love the changes that have taken place over the years and how it has grown. I’m not crazy about the emu, but that’s just my personal phobia. I did get a perfectly timed photo as my boyfriend fed one though! We have never gone through on the wagons as we like to just take our time and roll along. This is always a wonderful time with family and we make great memories each time we go.
They also have a large covered area that I rent out in advance for birthday parties and such. It has multiple long picnic tables under it so can handle a decent sized get together.
Word to the wise…. buy more than one feed bucket and don’t put it all out at once. The animals will grab it and it’s gone. The newbies always make that mistake and you see feed buckets all along the road.

Loved Lazy 5 Ranch is Mooresville NC. My friend was in town so thought it would be fun and it was. Each ticket was $15 and $3 for a bucket of food to feed the animals. Cash only. You can drive on your own or go in a wagon. We opted to drive. The drive took about 50 minutes and we saw zebra, giraffe, emu, goats, pigs and lots of other stuff. A magazine came with our tickets so it explained all the wildlife there. After we walked around a bit and saw some other birds and kangaroos! This is really a great place for all ages. Had a blast! Will definitely go back.

The ranch seemed very taken care of,
Nice and clean.
Staff was nice as well.
Absolutely loved this whole experience.

They only do cash!
And I recommend 4 buckets and hold them tight!

I've visited Lazy 5 Ranch around 5 or 6 times. It's a lovely spot for spending time with kids, boasting a decent array of animals and birds. Feeding the animals during the drive-through is particularly enjoyable. While the wagon ride is good, most of the animals are seen along the car drive lanes. During our last visit, we attended the Easter Egg Hunt, which was impressively organized and thoroughly enjoyable. The egg drop from the helicopter was a fantastic experience, greatly appreciated by the children.

We had SO. Much. Fun. at the Lazy 5! The animals are so adorable & mostly polite about the sharing off food...took us about an hour to drive through. Definitely need 3 or four buckets of feed to enjoy passing out goodies to all the cuties! We highly recommend a visit & we'll be back!

Bring cash! Bring cash! Bring cash!! Now that I got that out of the way as it should be posted on the main page!! We were from out of town and looking for unique things to do. Drove over an hour to find out they only accept cash and no ATM on site!! Then they send you 5 miles up to a gas station with a broken ATM. Luckily can get up to $40 cash at the Dollar General but with a purchase.
This inconvenience brought the park to 4 stars instead of 5!!
Once we got back and paid, it’s per person not per car so also be sure you understand that when you go. You also have to pay separately for buckets of feed so count that as well.
The park itself is beautiful and one of the largest I have been to of its kind. It was a lot of fun. You have to be patient. Don’t expect to speed through as a lot depends on the animals and the people driving in front of you. So if you are rushed, might not be the best place to visit. It took us a little over an hour (about 65 minutes) to go through the 3 miles (Friday afternoon) so I imagine on a weekend it could be busier.
If ever in the area would definitely visit again and take advantage of the things you can do out of the car!

Was 1 hour and 15 minute drive to get here and worth it. Had a blast driving through with my kids today. Was busy but that did not affect our time at all. Cars moved through at a great pace. Took us about an hour or more to drive through. My kids did not seem super impressed by the walk through part but had an amazing time driving through and thought it was worth the drive.

So.... I have lived in Charlotte, NC for some time now. I have kept myself, my wife and girls from one of the most fun and enjoyable place that We have experienced in some time. We spent the afternoon at Lazy 5 Ranch. Located in Mooresville, NC on 150.
The price of drive through admission was very reasonable and you must by a bucket of feed for each person in the vehicle. The fun, laughter and excitement of the animals coming right up to your vehicle is amazing and exciting.
Make it a destination point if your local or coming from out of town.

It was a fun experience. But I would warn to hang the bucket tightly outside of your car. Some animals are messier eaters than others. It's a beautiful ranch. I would love to go back. Hopefully my son won't be scared of the animals.

We took my 9 grandchildren for a visit to the Lazy 5 Ranch on a hot Friday. Admission is charged per person, not per vehicle, as you arrive at the ranch. There are discounts for young children and seniors. They also sell buckets of animal feed at the entrance. The drive-thru safari winds around for a couple miles, and many varieties of animals that won't bite fingers will come up to the cars for food. Some, like deer and goats, will eat out of your hand. Buffalo stick their tongues way out, inviting you to pour feed on for them to swallow. When my daughter held out the bucket for a large gazelle to eat some, the gazelle grabbed the side of the bucket and jerked the whole thing out of her hand. We got a good laugh from that. The oldest grandchild, who is 13 and unimpressed with the world, got very excited about being able to pet the elk from the car windows. There were also pigs and emus, llamas and various breeds of cattle. There were zebras, but there were multiple warnings that we should not feed them - they bite. After the safari, we let the children out to play on the playground and walk through the small zoo of birds and other animals. Clean restrooms are available. I don't recall seeing any concessions for human food, but you can bring your own food to eat at picnic tables around the playground.

This is our second time coming back & the experience is always different…in a good way!! Even with a lot of traffic there is plenty of space and different things to do but not too much that it’ll give off a carnival feel. I definitely recommend getting at least 1 or 2 buckets pp to have enough for all of the animals and dressing comfortable!! 5+ stars ⭐️

Great Experience!! Super fun for kids of all ages. We drove through the ranch and it took us around 45 minutes. We got three buckets of food and it was enough for four adults and one child! Great experience at Lazy 5 Ranch! Reserved a time slot a day ahead for the wagon ride with the family. It was a really great time and our tour guide, Albert, was awesome. It was very fun feeding the animals, and just fascinating to see so many species in one place. The animals are treated very well and roam free on the property. Kids love it! Pack a lunch and make it a family day! There's a playground, an ice cream shop, and gift shop on the property. Highly recommend this place!

I recommend driving an suv. I drove a sedan and felt like it was too small. The path is dirt so it has some dips in places.
The animals were bigger than I thought too.
I'd get an extra bucket of feed. The giraffes won't give you any time if you don't have food. The Buffalo were surprisingly calm.
Most of the animals are loose and surrounding your vehicle. Some of them block you on the path to ensure they get pellets. Some of the animals push others out of the way to get food. It's an interesting experience.
I also saw deer in with the park animals getting feed. That was a nice addition.
The park warns not to leave your vehicle or pet the animals. They are wild and unpredictable. It's a good experience.
Some of the animals I would have never seen otherwise. I would go back.
They also have a playground for small children.
Some of the other amenities were not open when I visited. I can't comment on them.

I recently visited a ranch that offers immersive experiences feeding animals and a drive-through with animals, and it was truly a memorable experience. The staff was knowledgeable and passionate about caring for the animals, and they provided us with the opportunity to get up close and personal with a variety of species. The drive-through allowed us to see the animals in their natural habitat, adding to the authenticity of the experience
Take note of this:
There’s a huge likelihood that your car will have scratches, debts and in our case broken tail lights, when doing the “drive through”. It’s a good experience with kids but also be prepared of the possible risks

Great place to take the kids. Up front, in your face, interaction with animals. I highly recommend the carriage ride versus taking your own car. It's totally worth it! 19th-century mine with a visitor center, panning for gold & tours through restored tunnels.
We loved it here. Fun, educational, beautiful and easy short trails. (Note, there are steps.) My littles (6 & 4.5) we’re a little nervy/scared to enter the mine but they did and they really liked it. We went in the off season. We’d love to come back when the panning is open so we can do that too.

It was a unique experience and was able to learn a lot. You are able to do most things around here for free. The only thing that costs is the gold panning and its only $3. We did it for each kid and one pan had a little fleck of gold and the other had nothing.
Kind of surprised they didn't have more in the gift shop or a way to donate to the place.
A ton of walking paths and tables for a picnic. Recommend going and bring the kids!

Great place to spend a few hours. The only charge is for the optional gold panning. The visitor center offers a 10 minute video about the site and the discovery of gold in North Carolina. The exhibits are extensive and educational. The underground tour is an easy level walk though it ends with stairs. The stairs lead up to additional points of interest on the grounds. There are also some trails on the extensive grounds. On the downside the entrance road is in bad condition.

Visited over Father's Day for the 2nd time (with 3 generations - age 6 to 74). I've done the self-guided tour before but did the guided tour this time. I enjoy both. My 6-year-old REALLY loved the panning for gold and was the only one to find a fleck. She is proudly displaying her vial on a shelf in her bedroom. It's a fun way to spend a few hours with family.
Quick advice, check for ticks when you leave. We found a few after walking around after the mine tour. (That wouldn't stop us from going back.)

Staff was very friendly and helpful especially the gentlemen helping at the panning station. Exhibits were very well done and informational. Walking through the old Mine was so cool. Literally as the temp was much lower than the outside Temps so it was quite a relief from the heat. Looking forward to taking my family of 6 back again. It was able to keep everyone interested from our oldest (11 yo) to our youngest (2 yo). Free to tour, $3 per person to pan for gold.

Enjoyed this a lot. Most of the museum is free. You have to pay for gold panning. The employee who taught us how to pan was very nice as was the front desk staff. There are a lot of picnic tables. The trails are nice and well maintained as is the mine and museum. The only thing that could be improved is that the bathrooms could use some maintenance/cleaning.

Interesting experience! Very affordable and lots of historical information provided!! You get a self-guide pamphlet to go explore underground in pleasantly cool tunnels (it's summertime!) Panning was also educational for children, haven't found anything though. Be careful: Roads leading up to the mine are in need of patching and there are lots of stairs in the mine. Good thing there are benches everywhere in the woods trail area and a nice gift shop to explore. BTW you pay only for Panning.

We had a blast! The trails are beautiful. The staff are so friendly! 10⭐️ to the staff!
Management should encourage tipping!! Shame on you management!! The tour guide and the guys at the panning station didn’t get any tips. I gave the guy at the panning station a tip and he didn’t know what to do with himself!
He said, “what’s this? You can pay inside.” He told me they had never been tipped. WHAT?! Every tour guide gets tipped!
They set us up for mining, gave instructions, checked on everyone, helped so many people, then cleaned up after everyone. Admission is free, but the tour and mining cost. The museum is also free. The mining was $3 and worth it. So fun!

A fun trail you can walk and a mine you can walk through for a self guided tour. The gift shop is not super impressive. There is no earring or gold jewelry type item. I liked that they had shirts. I think the gift shop could do better. I really enjoyed the entire experience. It was great to do on a rainy day. Loved it.
Nonprofit preserve for tigers & other endangered animals, with tours on weekdays except Wednesday.
Tiger World provides a great half day trip for the Charlotte area. It is not a traditional "zoo" but rather a rescue environment focusing primarily on big cats. They do have other animals, including bears, primates, birds and reptiles. Many of the tigers and lions will "interact" with visitors by making vocalizations, especially when you talk to them. Early in the morning and late in the evening the lions and tigers often begin roaring and it is really cool to be so close to these magnificent animals as they are making their presence know.
The park is about 30-40 minutes north of Charlotte. While it is smaller and not as fancy as a traditional zoo, it allows you to get closer to the animals than a traditional zoo and the animals are much more attentive to visitors than at a traditional zoo. They are more active before lunch time and feedings for most happen around noon. The park staff are very personal and eager to answer questions. Plan at least an hour to make your way around the park, but 2 would be better. Admission is relatively inexpensive and proceeds help the park continue to provide a safe environment and care for its inhabitants.

We've now been here a couple of times and my boys have enjoyed it! They love seeing the animals and the playground. This place has great staff and you can tell they care a lot about what they do. On our tour the lady had a lot of information on each animal and how they came to the park. Most are rescued from bad situations and are now well cared for.

Had a blast! The park is very clean and all of the animals look very healthy. We got to hear the lions roaring at each other! So cool! The kids enjoyed it as well. We will definitely go back!

WOW! I truly enjoyed Tiger World. I have a few tips for you so your trip is enjoyable, Go early in the morning when the animals are active, wear a hat and purchase the $5 feeding cup. The cost is $15 for adults and $12 for kids. Plenty of exotic animals from Lions, Tigers, Monkeys, Cranes, Lions, Panthers wolves, Bobcats, Kangaroos, and much more! Plenty of fun for kids from Mini Golf, feeding the peacocks and ducks, and the playground inside!

Love this place. Awesome for family fun. There are plenty of cheap vending machines for water if you need anything .the gift shop is also so cute and has plenty of goodies. You also get to feed some of the animals!
All the animals are well kept and taken care of. It's so amazing to see tigers and lions up close. When it's hot outside though, they hide in the shAde. A bit harder to find them. There is plenty of trees for shade in case you get too hot.

It's great! You get to see lions, tigers monkeys, and other animals a lot closer than at the asheboro zoo. My kids really enjoyed it. Would definitely go again! It Is wheel chair accessible and they have wheel chairs that you could rent as well. (I'm guessing that you can rent one, you might have to call ahead to verify).

We really enjoyed this place. The lady in the front desk was very friendly and answered all our questions. The prices to enter were very fair, could be even very cheap. Specially that we went for the valentine special were couples can enter for the price of one ticket. We also donated $10 to feed Xavier, one of the cats and it was a cool experience. Plenty of cats were there, lions, tigers, panthers, among others. And also there were other endangered animals like birds, bears, kangaroos and monkeys. Overall it was great and we will be part of the donation program and sponsor an animal, places like this deserve to have more support.

My family has gone here a few times now and took me while I was in the area visiting recently. We went during the week and got straight in without a waiting line. We also purchased the feed cups so we were able to feed a few of the animals throughout the park, which I definitely recommend! The park was full of big cats including ligers, cubs, monkeys, wolves, kangaroos, peacocks and more! My highlight of the park was getting to feed the peacocks up close as they walk around the park freely, so definitely get the feed cup alone for this! We also got there during a feeding time for the big cats and they definitely livened-up during this time with their roars and was interesting to see up-close. We were all adults that went and had a great time but I would recommend this for the whole family for a day out. The cause this park supports as well as being a rescue and sanctuary for these big cats is already enough of a great cause to support the park and these species!

I was speechless. Amazing place. Very friendly employees. Must go. Peacock just roam near you not in cage. Amazing place. Worth for paying $15 per adult. After seeing lion and tiger you will feel amazed. I spent 2 hours.

The sloth experience was wonderful! Nacho didn't disappoint and the guides were helpful and kind. It would be nice to see larger enclosures for some of the animals and partnered with their own kind, especially the wolf, but I understand these are rescues so it probably depends on what they get and the funding they get. It was very cool to have the peacocks just walking around in the open. We were even greeted by a couple of them in the parking lot! Overall, it was a good experience. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and the animals seemed well cared for.

I was very pleasantly surprised by Tiger World. It is clean and in good repair, and employees are friendly and knowledgeable about all the animals.
I was happy with how interactive the animals are with the keepers, and how much obvious affection they show. The animals are trained to allow veterinary care without sedation or restraints, using positive reinforcement. They appear very healthy and well-fed but not obese, and they are in enclosures with a lot of room, climbing areas, and other toys & play items.
The keepers do respect the animals who do not want to interact as much or as closely, and they have a lot of hidey-holes where they can sleep and get away from noise and attention.
My Mom & I had a great time, and we will definitely be back!!

My kids and I loved our visit here! Reasonably-priced admissions with affordable add-ons ( we paid $20- for 4 pieces of meat to feed to the Leapord ). I've never been so close to these amazing animals, it gave us a new appreciation for their beauty. Definitely felt they could have more space and better upkeep in their habits, but I feel w/out unlimited funding they do their best for the animals. We went around 1pm and pretty much all the animals where awake and quite active. We will definitely go back in the future! I highly recommend a trip to see these amazing creatures up close, you won't be disappointed.

We had a lot of fun. We saw tiger, monkeys, lions, and much more. Allow about 2 hrs. Now they did NOT tell us up front about the fee for paying with a card. You should have it posted or be fourthwright about it.

Great mini zoo for kids of all ages, even the senior citizens! 🤗 Has a nice playground and seat in picnic area. Staff was supper friendly and helpful. We went while the bears were in hibernation, so hopefully, we'll see them in the spring when they wake up. The lions and tigers were so beautiful and huge! My 2y.o loves every moment of this experience, especially feeding the peacocks 🦚 and ducks that walked the grounds

Was a nice place. not huge, you can get through it in about 2hr. i only give it 4 stars because it does make you sad because most of the animals are just pacing back and forth. we went for the Halloween day and didn't see any keepers actually interacting as some of the other posts. not over priced either we had a good time. need maybe a second bathroom. only 1 with 2 stalls.

I love taking my grandchildren here for "Boo at the Zoo". They love seeing all the animals and the employees dressed up for Halloween. The apple cider and hot chocolate in the Fall hit the spot every time. The zoo is just the right size for smaller children who don't have the interest in an all day affair but large enough that adults enjoy it and feel they got their money's worth ($15). My son got the firefighter discount so it was less for him. Last year, there were employees at every spot to pass out candy. This year, they were few and far in between when we went. Hopefully next year, it'll be well staffed again. BTW, my granddaughter won best baby costume. She was Little Red Ridinghood.
Engines, antique autos, a roundhouse & other displays at a 57-acre site with seasonal train rides.
We went on the Polar Express ride!!! SO MUCH FUN, and very nostalgic for some! I think the adults enjoyed it just as much if not more than the kids. Very well done.
The decorations, chef dancing through the aisle serving hot cocoa, the ticket stamper, the kid actors playing the characters from the story, and the visit to the North Pole were all great. Santa even came onboard to hand out sleigh bells!
Tickets sell out quickly so if you want options, buy as soon as they go on sale. We purchased a table for four in the "Parlor" which I believe was the most expensive at close to $400 total. Kind of expensive for a family outing but we thought it was worth it.
I'm not sure we'd do this one every year, but probably alternate with something else in between years. It wouldn't feel as special to do every year, but we loved this whole experience!

The most friendliest, entertaining, diverse, fun museum I’ve ever been to. There truly is something for everyone here. Beautiful locomotives and railcars from all over the country (and world) with an amazing truck/car/plane section as well. There is so much history to be found at the museum and if you’re lucky, you’ll even see the friendly museum cat who will plop on her back and ask for belly rubs. The staff was extremely polite and friendly and made the experience even more enjoyable, and the $6 train ride was well worth it! If i could, I’d go back tomorrow.

The North Carolina Transportation Museum is a must if you love history. This place is surprisingly huge, and they have a massive number of all types of vehicles. We took our 3 year old nephew, and it was a blast watching his face light up over all the different trains. If you've never visited this place, you should definitely add it to your list. Also, You should also purchase the train ride tickets. It's about a 25-30 ride and it was extremely fun.

This place is an absolute must for anyone that loves trains. They also have antique cars and antique pickup trucks, along with some antique 18-wheelers (they really don't have 18 wheels, but that was the thing back in the day).
The diesel shop is amazing at over 600 ft long and then the roundhouse is just absolutely huge. The turntable is so cool to watch when it turns. You can ride on it for $1.
There are speeders to ride on as well as two different trains, IIRC.

An incredible place to bring the family! Plenty of things to see and do including train rides. Multiple clean bathrooms located around the campus as well as 3 covered picnic shelters. I came specifically for a model train show they were hosting. Definitely coming back with my Grandson to tour the grounds and buildings. The volunteers and staff are so helpful and friendly.

My family and I really enjoyed our day here. There was lots to see, and the history was very interesting. There were some hands-on things for the kids, but they could really use more. And the things that are hands-on weren't always clearly marked, so it was a little frustrating for my 5 year old who wanted to touch every car. 😆 He really enjoyed being able to climb up in the cab of a big truck, and explore some of the train cars. The rest of us enjoyed all there was to see and take in. The train ride wasn't very exciting, but it was really nice. We bought a membership, so the turntable ride was included. I would have been disappointed if I'd paid for the turntable ride. It was interesting, but the operator was kind of unpleasant towards some of us, and simply ignored others. He was very friendly to my husband though. All in all, for the price and the close proximity to home, this was a win for my family and we hope to return soon!

Nice train ride, great experience. The inside had lots of neat vehicles. The car show was going on when we got there. Only downside is the winner didn't deserve it, but that was only due to voters.

Neat little place that is rich in history. It was amazing to learn about how strong this small town was during the Great Depression, thanks to the 3000+ jobs it provided to those in the railroad Steam locomotive industry. The exhibits gave a glimpse into the hard work of the workmen that made this country an industrial success.
Be sure to check out the special events and train rides that happen throughout the year!

Truly expansive museum at the former Southern RR maintenance shops. There is a tremendous amount of history at this location, added to that is the many automobile & air plane exhibits, as well as a few maritime exhibits. There is also a 25 minute train ride around the museum grounds ($6/person).

Had so much fun!!!! I highly recommend for anyone even remotely interested in trains/cars/planes. There were so many stories to read about and you can ride a turntable!! I think it's so cool that this town was such a crossroads due to being 150 miles from other big train hubs and trains needed maintenance/checks every 150 miles. I really liked all the trains and learning about how they were serviced there. I think it's so cool the town can preserve it's history like that. Highly recommend for engineers as well, as I always liked looking into how machines work and this really hits that itch. Ticket was $6 for me, an adult on a weekday. At the gift shop, the can of Cheerwine was only $1 and two postcards 50 cents each.

Fun for kids and adults of all ages. We went today (9/23/22) for the Thomas and friends day. The museum is very accessible, not far off of 85. There is ample parking (note for the further away parking lot there is a shuttle, not sure if thisbis for special events only). Roughly a dozen or so vendors selling food and drinks. The museum itself is massive with lots of space to walk around with interactive stops for children.

Took our 4 year old son here and he had an absolute blast! So much to do & see, even a sandpit for the kiddos surrounded by very comfortable rocking chairs for mom & dad to enjoy! The train ride was short but very informative describing the history of the railway and then there were a few train cars you could get on and check out, which was really cool!
Definitely recommend!

I really had a great time roaming around here! I kinda wish I had taken more pictures. I like automotive and train history, engineering in general, and being able to see everything here was a great experience. The round house, trains in various stages of restoration, the repair shop, the buildings, and the history captured in this one place make it uniquely special. I came on a Saturday, they were only open 9 to 2, I got here around 10, left at 2, and could have easily spent another 2-3 hours reading everything, and looking around - I rushed through several buildings in the last 1/2 hour so that I could just see it all.

Very friendly staff/volunteers. Great price. We spent most of our time in the train exhibits and there are many. No steam engines in operation but the train cars and engines are about 100 years old and in great shape. The turnstile is also 100 years old and for just $1 you can get a ride on the turnstile. Model train exhibits was great too!

This is a huge museum spread over a number of acres and complete with running tracks.
We visited NC from UK and we planned to visit this museum before we travelled as I am a train enthusiast.
Boy were we surprised! Set in an old engineering facility this museum is not just trains, there's a huge collection of cars, trucks and other road transport. Some of these are set in carefully thought out exhibits, but they have so many that most of the vehicles are lined up in an absolutely huge loco engineering shed.
The trains were fantastic, diesel locos, steam locos, cabooses, freight wagons, coaches and even a 250T steam crane.
We visited on a non-running day and the museum was very quiet. We were able to wander as we pleased taking as long as we liked. No pressure.
As I have mentioned they have this huge repair facility which is packed with static exhibits, including a 1950's airliner being restored.
We spent about 3 hours here just wandering, looking, learning. if it had been a running day we would have spent maybe 5 hours.
Very pleased to have included this in our 5 day trip around NC.

COOL place to visit!!!!! And its cheap too! $6 admission for a huge and great museum is crazy to me!
There was so much to look at and do. We did not do the train ride, but it was so cool to go through all the buildings. They had turntable rides for $1 too!!!
The first main building was under construction, but despite that it was so cool. The other buildings had more details and signs describing things.
They even had a building for kids area!! It was sad though because there was a model train layout inside but it was closed off.
GREAT place to stop.

Our church group visited last Saturday. It was a relaxing experience. The weather was great. I experienced one disappointing experience. The guy that gave the introduction before we boarded the Polar Express train ride asked for three volunteers (children) to come up and give their best version of "Ho, Ho, Ho." Our church group had approximately 20+ young children, some standing down by the stage right below him, hands raised, jumping up and down to be selected. How DISAPPOINTING that the gentleman looked to the left and right passed our group of African American children to select three Caucasian children.
Ironically, as we were leaving out the gate after our train ride, we saw the same thing. WHAT'S up with that!!!!!
One guy changed my review from a 5 🌟 to a 3 🌟. This was very noticeable. Do better!!!

A Serendipitous Journey Through Time: A Review of the North Carolina Transportation Museum
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Venturing into the North Carolina Transportation Museum in Spencer, NC, is akin to embarking on a serendipitous journey through time. Nestled amidst the rolling hills of North Carolina, this museum is not just a collection of artifacts but a doorway to the past, where connections old and new converge in unexpected ways.
From the moment you step foot on the grounds, you're greeted by the echoes of history, whispering tales of bygone eras and distant lands. The exhibits, meticulously curated, invite visitors to delve into the rich tapestry of transportation history, from vintage locomotives to classic automobiles.
But what truly sets this museum apart is the way it weaves together personal narratives with the broader scope of history. As I wandered through the halls, I found myself drawn not just to the artifacts themselves but to the stories they held within. Each display seemed to hold a hidden connection, a thread linking me to places and people I never expected to encounter.
One such moment of revelation came as I stood before a WWII military truck, its weathered exterior a testament to the trials of war. Next to it, a photograph captured a scene from a small town in Okinawa, Japan—a town strangely familiar, for it was where I and a dear friend had both married our wives many years ago. The sense of serendipity was palpable, reminding me of the profound connections that lie just beneath the surface of our lives.
But the surprises didn't end there. As I explored further, I stumbled upon a Nash automobile proudly proclaiming its origins in my hometown of Kenosha, Wisconsin. It was a moment of sheer delight, realizing that even in this distant corner of North Carolina, the echoes of home were never far away.
In the end, my visit to the North Carolina Transportation Museum was more than just a journey through history; it was a testament to the power of connection and the beauty of serendipity. Whether you're a history enthusiast, a transportation buff, or simply someone in search of a unique and meaningful experience, this museum offers something truly special.
So if you find yourself in Spencer, NC, don't hesitate to pay a visit to the North Carolina Transportation Museum. You never know what hidden treasures—or unexpected connections—you might uncover along the way.

What can say the best value for money day out with children, so much to see and do. From a real train ride, a working turntable, super museum of old cars, trucks and planes. Super clean toilets a lovely shop, try not to buy a little toy for the children. Plenty of picnic areas. Be prepared for lots of walking. Only down side no drinks, coffee or soft drinks. Remember to get to train station on time. A big thank you to all the staff.

We visited for the first time recently. The weather was so hot, so our visit wasn’t as long as it could have been. There are so many attractions that a family could easily spend the entire day here. My children loved the carousel and the wildlife adventure. They would have liked the train more without the tunnels because it was so hot inside of them, but they still enjoyed it.
There were many people there the day that we went, including several church groups, and the park didn’t feel crowded.
Most attractions range from $.50-$2 per person. They do accept credit cards in the building attached to the train attraction. You can purchase all of your attraction tickets there. I noticed that the ticket booth at the wildlife attraction had a sign that said cash only, but we used a card to buy ours in the other building.
I recommend packing a lunch and bringing plenty of water. They host a fall festival that sounds like a lot of fun. We plan to come back for it.

Camped here for the first time this weekend. The campground is heavily wooded giving a private feel despite a fully booked weekend. Each site is electric and water only so be prepared with an external tank if staying longer than a couple days. I have ATT and had great cell coverage and was able to use my phone as a hotspot.
The park itself was great for my three year old. She loved riding the train, see the animals, and playing on the playground. The splash pad was a good spot to cool down with plenty of seating for parents. The concession stand was well staffed and plenty of treats for the hot summer day. Restrooms were clean.

My wife and I got married here in October. I cannot express just how happy we were with the outcome. We booked over a year before our wedding date, and although there were some staff changes during that time (completely understandable), we were always taken care of and had our questions answered. Everyone at the vineyard was so helpful- from the ones that helped us do our wine tasting, to the bartenders at the event itself….and ESPECIALLY SAVANNAH. I was so worried going into my big day that things would fall apart, but Savannah was absolutely incredible. She was so communicative with our wedding planner both before and on our wedding day, and she even helped me get red wine out of my dress during the reception. I cannot thank the staff at RayLen more for making the whole process easy and memorable. I 100% recommend booking your wedding here or even just stopping by for a glass of wine. Beautiful views, great staff, and a wonderful selection of wine!!!!

Wide selection of white and red wines, and wine slushies! You can do basic tastings (red and white tastings for $8) or extended tastings (red + wine for $15). Tastings are only offered indoors. We opted to buy a bottle of wine and sit outside to enjoy it. RayLen has so much wonderful outside space and great vineyards to explore, that it made for a lovely afternoon. Would be great to see staff following CDC recommendations and wearing face masks inside.

This an Awesome 110 acres vineyard. Beautiful views, friendly staff, Good Wine and Delicious Slushies. If you haven't been I would highly recommend you going. You won't be disappointed!!
Mountain park with a lake & river offering fishing, canoeing, hiking, horseback riding & camping.
As a British man, we hardly have trails like this in England! And wow what a beautiful hiking trail to experience! Definitely recommend walking up the mountain for the experience rather than just driving up for the view. It's worth the walk! Seeing all the beauty that covers the mountain, the streams, different trees and the wildlife! Luckily the trees provide plenty of shade so you've not got to worry about sunburn

This is a lovely day trip to make if you’re anywhere within a couple hours away. The fall of course is one of the best times to visit, but we’ve been all seasons and it’s still beautiful. There’s a look out area and several trails. Some shorter trails and others that are longer. There are a few tables and a covered sheltered seating area. There are public restrooms and dogs are allowed.

This is my first time here and is a good place to enjoy nature. It has hiking trails, camping, fishing, little museum about its rich history. I would definitely recommend anyone who wants to get away for the weekend.

Loved it. According to the visitor guide, there are 50 miles long of trails within the system. I'd assume most people would enjoy hiking the main 6 miles round trail (from the park office to the scenic vista or vice versa). It becomes quite strenuous when you reach 3/4 to the top.

This park has a lot to offer and should be a destination for visitors from not only the whole state, but even neighboring states. There are plenty of beautiful things to see and many options for recreation. There are even nice cabins to rent, in addition to the camping opportunities. Whether you're just passing through or you have time to make a whole weekend excursion, this park can handle it all. I look forward to returning soon.

Park is huge and there's a big river where people can swim or they can do other water activities. There are special places where you can grill with your family. Nature is wonderful, you can just enjoy the view. I believe especially when it's autumn. I visited this place at the end of May. It was hot, but still worth to visit.

Great place to hike! If you aren't a hiker, head up the side road to the scenic overlook.

Clean and lovely lake-front park with a swimming pool, camping, kayak rentals, boat ramp, walking trails, bridal trails, small museum, and a great view from the top of a small mountain. It's dog-friendly, there are plenty of picnic tables, the restrooms are clean, and all the facilities that I saw were even handicap-accessible.

It was my first time here with my family. I love this park. We completed 4.2 miles hiking loop and it was amazing. The boat rental was closed for the season but the beautiful river and mountains are breathtaking.

I found this hike on the way to a Hornets game in Charlotte. It was a nice way to take a break during the drive and decompress. I wish I would've allowed myself more time but enjoyed the one hour hike I took.
There is some road construction going on near the park so I ended up having to make my way to a different entrance than the one Google Maps took me to. Once I was on the park road it was easy to get to the trail heads.
I took a mix of the Morrow Mountain and Backpack Trails. Their entrances were near the museum and office parking lot. They were easy going and there was some snow on the ground still so there were some beautiful views. Not too many hills. If I would have had more time I would have found the trail to the summit and took it for the big views but was running out of daylight. The park closes at 7 so I wanted to make sure I made it out in time.
It was fun hiking if you ever get close and I'll try to get back some day and give myself more time.

Loving visiting this state park!
My favorite thing here is to go kayaking and exploring the lake and it’s secrets!
Kayaking is $10 an hour and comes with an orientation and you can buy water from the boathouse for the trip. I highly advise bringing some sunscreen because the lake is going to scorch you even if it’s windy.
There are some secret spots you can explore and inlets/ rivers too. There are these hidden lakes that are pretty, you can always get closer to the dam and you can go down river to see the rest of the lake. There is a lot of lake to check out.
The hiking trails they have are pretty great too and you can find them in different difficulty levels and ones that take a short time or a long time.
There is also group camping, tent camping, primitive camping and RV camping so there are a lot of great things to do here.

Mount Morrow State Park
Located in Albemarle, NC in the Uwharrie Forest.
A little history--
-600 million years ago, this mountain was part of a collection of volcanic islands.
-10k+ years ago, the mountains were inhabited by Sapona, Saura, & Catawba indians who used the nearby Yadkin and Pee Dee Rivers to transport the tools they made from the Rhyolite stone.
-Europeans colonized the area in the 1700s and the park opened in 1939. It is named for James McKnight Morrow who donated 1000+ acres.
This park offers 14 different trails of varying intensities with most being considered easy or moderate.
There is one strenuous trail--the Sugarloaf Mountain Trail-- that you will definitely "feel" on the ascent with some parts of the trail seeming to be almost vertical, but you are able to catch some decent views near the top.
Don't forget to save a reserve of energy though, because the hike back up Morrow Mountain Trail is another doozie, even though this trail is marked moderate. My suggestion is to keep your head down focused on your steps and don't pay attention to how much you have left to climb.Your calves and glutes are going to remind you of it anyways.😉
You can also just drive up to the top to see some lovely panoramic views and perhaps enjoy a picnic or catch a sunrise in the winter months.

Plus, I was thankful there was a clean restroom!

Awesome place for anyone. Great access for all abilities and beautiful views all around the summit. Great bathroom facilities and awesome picnic options and even charcoal grills all over. Hiking trails are great as well. Definitely worth stopping by and checking out especially in the fall.

The rds in were well maintained, and what I could see of the trails they were well groomed with a crushed stone. The bridal trails were plenty, and there were several horse trailers that come in, so I am assuming they were good. The view was spectacular. At this time of the year, you can see for miles, and it was lovely to see the river and the houses along the river.

Another place to scratch off my places to see in the Carolinas bucket list before we move! There is soooooo much history I didn't know about on this mountain and I've lived in NC my whole life and its only an hour away from Charlotte. The park is HUGE! I went with my five year old so I didn't get to see as much of the park as I wanted because anyone with kids know you don't want to be stuck on a trail far away from the car with a tired child so we just explored a small part of this beautiful mountain. I definitely want to go back and see more of it!
Please excuse the pictures with emojis, as my son is underage I prefer to not post pictures of him publicly. There were a few old trees that have fallen over that my son was obsessed with. I didn't take many pictures because we really didn't stay long. I definitely recommend checking this place out!

Kudos to Park Ranger badge 238 (sorry I did not get your name!) He saw me walking along the road, not a trail, stopped by, made sure I was alright, offered water, and asked if there was anything wrong on the trail. I highly appreciate his professionalism and care for park patrons and the park alike.

Childress Vineyards, owned by former NASCAR driver Richard Childress, offers a delightful vineyard experience with tours, tastings, and a bistro. Visitors can enjoy the impressive grounds and labeled vineyards while savoring delicious food and specialty drinks at the bistro. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable in helping guests select wines they would enjoy. Additionally, the vineyard offers a variety of wine slushie flavors and truffle options for visitors to indulge in.
Had an amazing experience today! My wife and I drove 2 1/2 hours to visit Childress for the 1st time. Spectacular views from the second we turned into the vineyard. Upon reaching the foyer, we were immediately greeted by a very ecstatic warm employee(I did not catch her name). She welcomed us, Thanked us for visiting, guided us to everywhere we needed to visit, answered all of our questions without hesitation and showed her appreciation for us joining them! Once we entered the building, we were greeted several times by different employees! Not once did we speak to someone that did not want to be here! GREAT Atmosphere!!! Mrs Jerri in the store was awesome! She welcomed any questions and explained how the tastings worked as they had several different selections of tastings. She was Amazing! Couldn't ask for a better hostess! We had a reservation @3PM. Arrived around 12 just to check out the vineyard and enjoy ourselves. Arrived at the bistro a few minutes before our scheduled time and was seated immediately as they were prepared for us, the way it should be! Madison was our Hostess/server and once again, superb! Nothing short of her being amazing! She didn't rush us, answered our questions without hesitation and even gave us her recommendations once we asked for them! Spot on! Had a great day! Great experience! The entrees were perfect and so delicious! Just want to say.....Great job to all of you!!! You guys are why this exists! Be proud Mr. Childress!!!!! Will definitely be back!

The grounds and buildings are impressive! From the moment you drive up through the labeled vineyards to the time you leave you enjoy beautiful vistas! This vineyard bistro was wonderful. The staff helpful and knowledgeable in selections. The food was prepared to liking and there were many drink selections to choose from including virgin mimosas. We enjoyed our lunch, strolling through the shop and testing some lovely wine and chocolate! 🍷🍫 🍴

This was my first time coming and it will not be my last. I had s wonderful time with my family today. I do wish we were told about the wine tasting sooner and the time it ended. The person working that station did not seem very friendly when we asked about it. But we are planning another family event in the very near future and will make time for the tasting and Brunch!! Truly a very good time with food, family and wine!

Today, I had the pleasure of meeting up with a dear friend, and together, we decided to visit the Children's Vineyards for a delightful brunch and a fun girls' day out. We savored the trifecta brunch alongside diverse wine tastings. Later, we basked in the ambiance of live music on the terrace while indulging in more wine tastings. With great conversations, lovely music, and perfect weather, our day couldn't have been any better. The vineyards provided an unforgettable experience, and I'm already looking forward to returning for more enjoyment.

This place is gorgeous!! We did two wine tastings (white and sweet) and had a few of their truffles (tiramisu and cookie). For nearly 8 full glasses of wine, two truffles it was $61 (so very fairly priced). During checkout they told us keep the glasses, which is speaking my husband's love language 🤣Even in winter the grounds are beautiful, we're going to come back in the spring when they start doing live music again. Highly recommend!

Came here last Friday for the first time after having driven past for years. Didn’t know what to expect, so I set the bar low. I was really impressed. The variety of selection was great, and the quality of the wine was actually quite good. I’m a novice when it comes to wine tasting, but I enjoyed the wines I tasted. The tasting which was $25 was more expensive than some other places but I felt that it was worth it. The lady doing our tasting was both knowledgeable and personable, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Loved the fact that I got to keep the glass. After the tasting we shared a wine slushee flight, and it was actually quite tasty, and I’m not one to normally drink sweet wines. The grounds were beautiful and there were plenty of areas to sit and enjoy your wine and surroundings. Cannot comment on the bistro but I would like to try it. I will definitely be coming back. Just a quick drive from the Charlotte Metro.

This was such a beautiful venue! I came on a spontaneous solo date and was able to book a tour for $25 that came with two complimentary pours with my amazing tour guides Gabby & Michael. The tour was very informative, they showed me everything from the grape vines to how the grapes are pressed, the barrels the wine is stored in, the ferment tanks, and how it is bottled and packaged. They were so nice and answered all of my questions with ease. They even offered to take this beautiful picture of me. ASK FOR GABBY for your tour she was the sweetest! After the tour, I did the Champion Tasting for $35 which came with a complimentary wine glass and 5 different tastings with Gale who was very nice and helpful! I left happy and tipsy, it was such a great time. I would definitely recommend this place!!! I will be back soon :)

We just went to do our wine tasting, which was amazing! Everyone in the wine area was extremely helpful and friendly. It’s really disappointing because we were excited to have lunch at the Bistro. I guess we’ll never know due to the lack of care and culture of hospitality that we experienced by the staff at the Bistro. The Bistro unfortunately gets an F in our book.😕

Amazing vineyard experience! Our women's book club decided to meet here for a meeting. We had lunch at their bistro and the food and specialty drinks were amazing! Make sure to ask for Cristine as a waitress. She was attentive and patient being that we had a party of 7 women with plenty of wine to drink. They have a variety of wine slushie flavors and truffle flavors. It was so hard to choose. The staff in the tasting room were so helpful with helping you decide on a wine you would actually like! Attended Christmas with the Reynolds family at 7:30pm. Docent and all the dressed up characters from the time were excellent. Enjoyed the organ Christmas music too. The treats at the end were a joke (apple cider and pocky chocolate covered sticks) as the staff were cleaning them up while we were there which I found rude. Why not make it a traditional treat served during this time or at least a holiday one?
The home is lovely and the history interesting so I do recommend a trip!

The museum is worth a visit if you're in the area. You can spend a good deal of time here, especially walking around the garden and grounds. The museum itself is fairly priced for what it provides and it's worth asking about discounts since they offer several for admission. The Old Salem Museums & Gardens Administrative Offices are situated in a restored 18th-century town that has been beautifully preserved. The core of the Moravian settlement of Salem comprises several blocks south of downtown, featuring gardens, museums, and shops with costumed staff and hands-on activities. If you're interested in Moravian traditions such as gardening, doctoring, and gunsmithing, you can pay for access to on-site museums and houses where guides explain and demonstrate these practices.
A must see for anyone living in or visiting North Carolina!! Tons of wonderful artifacts from the original settlement as well as gorgeous reproductions from today.
Although not fully open, my family struggled to see everything available because there was so much to see, do, & experience.
My family is definitely planning to return soon!!

We really enjoyed our morning walk around old Salem and found our way into one of the buildings where the attendant explained to us that only 3 of the buildings were free to go into. She took out a map and explained how it all works. It was our first time and we weren't interested in paying to see stuff, so that was helpful to know. She also told us about the old cigarette vending machine they had, now stocked with artwork the size of cigarette packs that you can buy. Each tab you pull has a different type of art by different artists and she explained what you get with each one. I bought 2 to give to my niece and nephew and can't wait to see what they get. Anyway, we wandered around old Salem and stopped at the bakery (nice gift shop and you can buy some Moravian baked goods - the ginger snaps were delicious and I wish I'd bought more). The single sisters home was not open and we didn't go into the church. There appeared to be something going on and a small band was playing in the park across from the church. The fall leaves were beautiful. A great introduction to old Salem.

This is a beautifully restored 18th century American history village that documents the contributions of Moravian culture in N.C. It was like visiting Williamsburg VA. without the long ride. So if you have a day or even a weekend, see this cultural making of simpler times. I found in their gift store a repurposed book creatively sculpted from the pages of the past "LOVE"! Your kids will love their Moravian skinny Cookies...so don't miss a stop at the town bakery Also their Village tavern for lunch is a home grown farmer's delight ... not sure if they take reservations as things change day by day. Check the times and dates because they are not always open. If the weather is good, do the free covered bridge, village, college, and the stone tablet cemetary first and make reservations for lunch. It took us a day. Explore the more detailed and diverse history of the village by planning an indoor tour of the many museums on a rainy day or hot afternoon.

Old Salen Museum is such a beautiful small village surrounded by a lot of vegetation and nature that will define toy make your day. You can just park in the middle of it and walk around and trough all these amazing (perfectly preserved) buildings. There are a couple of options for eating and taste some of their bakery and desserts specials and you have to take the time to visit the Salem College too which is also so cozy and beautiful. Look at the pictures to have a better idea of the place ;0)

Very interesting place. We bought the all encompassing tickets to view everything we could. We'll worth it, the docents and staff were very friendly and knowledgeable.

Cute place, parking is available. Shares the history of Old Salem. You can buy tickets. You can also buy their bread and they have a safe that opened recently.
I really only go here for Pokemon Go. Good for Comm Day but it is outside.
I really wish WS had an indoor area with stops and somewhere else with many stops because I heard that the lady there doesn't like us "pogo players" walking around
A beautiful cemetery 🪦 directly in between Old Salem and downtown Winston Salem. The headstones are equally placed and flat to highlight equality under God. This is a peaceful place to reflect on history and the lives who helped build this city. The cemetery has ♿ handicap accessible parking nearby but the paths do lack some accessibility.

Such a beautifully kept cemetery full of history and still so unique as they still have separate sections for the men, women and children.

Peaceful area. All the headstones, nearly flat, represent equality in death from Gods point of view. Hopefully they were all equal under Gods eyes during their lives as well.

This is an interesting graveyard. It’s very pretty and right by all the cool old historical buildings in Old Salem. There is some information posted about the graveyard - the main thing being the explanation for all the headstones looking exactly the same. This is to represent that the dead are all equal. I feel like the Moravians must also have felt that all are equal while alive. I wish our modern society could incorporate more of that way of thinking.

We spent a little time here reading some of the names and dates on the tombstones.. it seems very peaceful there for being a graveyard.. we took a few pictures and I have shared a couple . Please look closely at one if the trees in the rooted area.. now I'm not trying to be spooky but I easliy picked up faces after I went back home and reviewed the photos.... I have included a closer up of the roots as well.. if you're in the area you should visit this place.. enjoy!!

We had an absolutely amazing time. We did the full Zipline course. One of us ended up needing to stop and they were extremely understanding and helpful. They also did a good job managing the kids.

Great day with friends. You will have a blast no matter your ago. Tour guide makes you feel comfortable and gives full detail of the next platform coming up as you go through the zip lines .

We did the first class package for the ziplines and had an absolute blast!! Our guides David and Matt were the best! Super nice guys, really funny and entertaining, and were so accommodating to the health issues a few of us had. We booked this adventure because my father has cancer and this is something he has always wanted to do. He was having a bit of a tough time with the stairs/heat and when I quietly mentioned it they were very subtle about slowing down for him and giving him a break before hitting any stairs. (Their kindness and compassion was so appreciated!) I live in Kannapolis but my dad traveled up from Louisiana and my sister came up from Texas and we all said it was totally worth the trip for them! They made sure we enjoyed every single trip down the line and made the experience perfect. Our pictures and videos are so good too and have been fun showing them off. Matt was even kind enough to recommend a really good BBQ joint when we were leaving. We will be back for sure and will be requesting them for any future zipline tours!

We had a fantastic time! This was our very first time ever Zip Lining and it was so much fun. Matt and Zach were a blast and made us feel safe and comfortable the whole time. We will definitely be going again!

It was great to see the lights and walk through, but you have to buy the train tickets, and picture packages to make it worthwhile. As an adult it was good, would be better for a kid adventure than adult only. Otherwise, the guys at Kersey Valley never disappoint.

Took my daughter and some friends (between the ages of 12 and 35)for her 18th Birthday. It was amazing. Our flight captain's Justin and Billy were great. When we go back, we will be requesting them! If you want something fun for the whole family this is the place to go!!!

Such a great experience!!! We did the first class zip lining with Andrea and Kenny. They were both wonderful. My 10 year old was pretty scared and they were so great talking him through things. I was nervous he would back out but he did every single one and by the end was practically running off the platforms!
I was very impressed with all of their safety protocols. I felt very confident we were in great hands. Highly recommend. Worth the drive from Raleigh!!
They offer so much else too! Can't wait to check out their other attractions!

This was our first time and it was awesome. We did the first class flight and Savannah and Zack were our Captains and they did an amazing job. I was nervous but they made me feel so comfortable by the 3rd line I was fine and ready for more. We will be back and bring the family. They have so much more to do here other than zip lining but you must try it you won't regret it. Thank you so much Savannah and Zack for making this such a great experience. You guys ROCK!!!!

Our flight captains were Chad and Jadakus and they made this first experience a great one for me and my husband. We will definitely be going again and bringing our children with us. **Chad is hilarious and will keep you laughing the whole time**
Amazing experience ! Staff very friendly n helpful and overall it was fun and interesting the different areas you walk through . I wouldn’t say it’s crazy scary but you will get a scare . My opinion the bigger the group your in the more you see things coming , that’s why I dint get scared much . But the way everything is setup I’ll give them a thumbs up . We literally go every year . Definitely recommend to go .

We had a great time! We went as a large group! The atmosphere was fun and exciting while we waited. They played music and the DJ kept us entertained during our wait. We loved taking pictures with the characters that visited us in line! The spooky woods/house was scary but we made it through! This may not be the best for little ones! The props and costumes were scary and gruesome! We had a great time but bring your patience as there is a long wait before you enter and a long wait to park! Don’t expect to get in at the exact time you reserved! Also, the staff and police on duty were kind and helpful. My daughter was scared and we were able to get her out of the woods with the help of an employee. I’d like to go back again next year!

Honestly an amazing experience. I don’t scare easily at all since I grew up watching jump-scare movies since I was 7, and the Spooky Woods have definitely made me jump quite a a few times. The entire event takes roughly an hour and a half to complete and it involves multiple houses along with a cornfield full of fog.
The actors/actresses were all amazing and the decorations were on another level!
I highly recommend this spot!

Spookywoods was amazing. I came from Maryland to visit my daughter, we decided to go with one of her friends. Arrived at Kersey and the parking line was long. We finally arrived at the entrance when I realized I didn't have cash to pay for parking, the officers were very nice and allowed us to park. I paid general admission and the line was long but the music and DJ made the wait manageable. The actors were great and the trail was long which adds up a great time. Well worth it.

One of the best we have been to! Walking through the corn field and seeing the haunted house through the lights and fog was an awesome experience, really felt like you were in the movies… and that werewolf was insane! Buy the VIP! Saves so much time! The back entrance is better than parking in the front, you get to ride on a tractor pulling a trailer which adds to it!
King Aelf — Google review
The props, stores, atmosphere, actors customs and makeup were all top notch; however, the scare factor just was not there, especially for the first half. The ICONS trail was too heavily graveled, making it difficult to walk in. Most of the actors didn’t engage as much as most haunts do (i.e., no chasing you with a chainsaw kinda thino). You go through an entire corn maze with NOTHING in it - what a waste of a great corn maze! With all the great buildings and props, it has excellent potential, but it’s not there yet. We drove 3 hours for it and were a little disappointed, as there are better haunts at home.
We did buy VIP tickets, so at least the wait was minimal.
Becky Reed — Google review
It was a solid time. Nothing too crazy or elaborate, and certainly not scary. Perhaps the venue was hurt by the staffing shortage, as I felt that the amount of actors inside the venue was lacking and attributed to not being scared much. The sets were well done however though and designed with attention to detail. Would recommend for a solid night out if expectations aren’t too high.

Excellent place! Actors who walk through lines are lots of fun and kind. Willing to take pictures and have fun. DJ does great time to keep crowd entertained. The best Halloween place we've been to.

We had a great time in the spooky woods! We drove down from Ft. Bragg and the drive was worth it!! The in character employees stayed in character and made sure fun was had by all. The hype man in the line que was great, his energy was contagious. The corn maze, buildings and characters all left you wondering what was next. The staff and police officers in supporting roles were all kind, helpful and inviting. Thank you again!

Took my husband, daughters, and a friend to Spookywoods this year. Had a little bit of a wait but not bad. We got there early and went on a Thursday! We also got VIP tickets which bypasses some of the time waiting in the line. They have a DJ and actors in the lines which make the waiting process a lot easier. I LOVE all the new sections this year. The ICONS section was my favorite. There is so much to see and do in this haunt. You really get your moneys worth. Plan on being there for a few hours. Lots of jump scares and some creepy sets. They really invest time and money into this sets. I have been coming here for years and every year I think they can’t possibly outdo the year before but they always do. FAN FOR LIFE!!!!

Really enjoyed the theming and the length of the attraction! Some of the scare actors were really on point and added a good jump scare. Though some of the actors needed some type of light effects to emphasize their faces and scare.
Over all I really recommend this attraction! Can’t wait to come back next year.

We decided this year to take our eleven year old for the first time. In the beginning we honestly didnt think she would make it through til the end. However the actors throughout the attraction really helped her. They would fist bump or high five all while staying in character. The overall experience was out of this world. I have been coming here for over 20 years. Sharing this experience with my kids is perfect. Another year in the books :)

We love Halloween Horror Nights but this Spookywoods is Amazing hands down the best I would recommend anyone to come out to this farm. They do an amazing job from the theming to the sets ups that they have and all the scare actors do a great job they play their characters to a t! The midway is great from a variety of food and let me tell you the apple cider donuts and slushy sooo delicious. I happened to meet the owners and the creators that put their heart and soul into this attraction and how many years it has been around and to see what it has evolved into is just amazing. I HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND this Spooky Attraction. Will def be coming back from Florida for their future events. I can't wait to see what is to come next.

This was a really cool haunt, very long, costumes and makeup were really good. But one of the houses was way too dark to see what was going on and I walked face first into a wall :( I would advise anyone going to wear good sturdy shoes, a lot of the walkways are pretty uneven. I’ll definitely be back next year, the value for price is significantly better than Scarowinds.

We had a great time visiting! Cast members were super fun and enjoyable to watch and interact with! Was with co-workers who had never been to a haunt so it was a lot of fun to watch them jump and scream with every little turn. Our favorite parts were the Corn Field, Icons and the giant mansion-catacombs section! Weeknight lines weren’t long at all! Prices for food/drinks weren’t as bad as we had expected either

Absolutely the best haunt I've been too! We had a blast and had some genuine scares. Even the line was fun to wait in. The scare actors go above and beyond expectations, and the witch dancing is the icing on the cake.
We met Brandon at the end of the haunt and had a wonderful talk with him about the haunt. He has absolutely out done himself and i look forward to coming back next year!
I love kersey valley escape rooms my family and myself have completed all but their newest one. It's a great time and if you get the right game master it's even better. We went with a group of 9 for our daughter’s 15th birthday, we enjoyed our trip here!
the sanitarium was the escape we choose… our guide Chris was very kind and communicative!
There were a lot of puzzles that were different and creative. I expected more live actors or a jump scare or somthing…That’s how it seemed to be conveyed that there were other people inside to scare your or to put you in the theme like dressed up, but it was just one person one time from a hole… and everything was just props or noise to scare you. We went during the day… I would suggest going in the later evening because you can see in the house too much…which makes it less spooky.
Erica Burtoff/Kurtz — Google review
My friends and I did sanitarium with high hopes. We were driving through on I-40 towards the mountains, and went out of our way to check out this escape room. We’ve done over 30 rooms, and hearing that is was an entire house got us very excited. The puzzles were well done and fun. The rooms had good flow. We liked all the different spaces to move through. And you could tell a lot of time and money went into building it. However, we all agreed it was underwhelming and did not meet our expectations. And here’s why…without giving anything away: There are five rooms, which means you have an average of 12min to get through each room and escape within 60min. It IS possible… if they changed a few simple things.
Unlimited clues are great, and help nudge you in the right direction when you are struggling. However, the clues would move faster if the game master was paying attention. We kept joking he was watching Netflix because he kept asking us what we’ve already done to figure out what we need to do next. That wasted time.
It was VERY dark in the rooms and they only give you one black light flashlight for a group of people. Luckily, we only had four people. I couldn’t imagine having more than that and no light. Thankfully no strangers signed up, because not allowing private parties unless you pay for 10 people was a turnoff. But only having one light automatically sets you up for failure by not allowing anyone else to see, while tripping over “dead bodies”. You can’t solve the puzzles without seeing! And they won’t let you use your phones. Later the game master said that people keep breaking the black lights, but they can buy a supply of cheap flashlights at the dollar store or on Amazon so players can see what they are doing.
Also, there is no board to write on. There’s a ton of numbers to remember on the fly, and we constantly had to run back and forth because we forgot the numbers. That wasted a ton of time. And again, you can’t use your phone.
Finally, we made it to the last puzzle which takes a significant amount of time to solve (but would take much less if we could write down our findings), and there is no clock to show us how much time we have. So the music speeds up, and then they say it’s over and the game master walks in. They should have given us a couple more minutes which is all we needed.
Therefore in conclusion, it was fun. But by changing a few things, it could be so much better and a memorable experience as opposed to blah and not worth the money.
1) give players a white board & markers
2) give each player a cheap flashlight or hide them around so we can each have one
3) make all your rooms private with a minimum of three or four
4) put a clock in the last room if not every room
5) make sure the game master pays attention
Do all that, and it’s a strong five star experience!

Great place for kids. I highly recommend getting there early otherwise the line in is incredibly long. Parking is $10 per car. There is plenty to do here and our kids loved it. There are many activities that are included with the corn maze ticket such as rock climbing, kiddie zip line, bounce pillow, and train ride etc. The ropes course, laser tag, and ziplines are additional costs and requires reservations in advance. There are bathrooms and concessions onsite. Food and drinks are a bit pricey for what it is imo but kids liked everything. Fyi I don't believe have to pay unless you want to do the corn maze and the rides of course. I believe you could just take your kids pay for their wrist bands but call to clarify. They don't offer military discounts either.

500-acre zoo with 1,700+ animals from Africa & North America in replicas of their natural habitats.
Visited for our anniversary weekend. We enjoyed ourselves, but we were super exhausted by the end of the day. You spend most of the time walking uphill, but there are plenty of stops along the way to rest. Bring comfortable shoes!
There are places to eat once in the zoo. Don't know how affordable the prices are, since we ate prior to entry.
Plenty of charging stations for electric vehicles. We were in the zoo the entire afternoon so it was nice to be able to come back to a charged car.
Overall, we enjoyed our experience and look forward to coming back.

I love this place...beautiful and inspiring. I love that since I was a child they've been the largest habitat zoo. I went back recently with my kids...and it meant so much for them to appreciate all the wonderful creatures in a way that teaches preservation and conservation. The grounds are a welcome retreat into nature. Also, they have a great website that regularly posts updates and helps you plan your trip, a must-see before you plan your trip. Highly recommend it! I love the NC Zoo!!

I thought the zoo from my hometown was really nice until I visited this zoo! The two people membership for all year was a fantastic price at about $79 and includes discounts and free visits to numerous other places. All of the exhibits were really clean and the grounds were also gorgeous and well laid out. The zoo is huge so plan to spend all day or two separate trips to really walk around and enjoy everything!

This is a beautiful place! My only issue was the yellow jacket infestation! The facilities are clean. This is a huge place with a lot of hills to push through, so if you struggle with mobility, rent some type of transportation. We didn't get any food, but we did grab a frozen strawberry lemonade that was delicious and cost a little over $6.00. The bathrooms were surprisingly clean. The staff were helpful. Overall good trip.

This is a fantastic wildlife park, the animal environment enclosures were HUGE! I would love to be an animal in this park, the park has two sides, the North American park and the African park, both parks were truly amazing, they were under construction for a new addition due to open in 2026, this addition will be wildlife from the Asian region, we will definitely make our way back when it opens.
P.S where comfortable shoes, the park is huge, they have a tram service but we decided to walk the whole park and then back, we did about 7 miles.

I went during presidents day weekend and the park closes at 4:00 but the last tram stops at 3:30. so myself and the rest of the guest had to wait about 40 plus minutes for a 17 passenger bus to come back and forth to take people from the Africa side to the North America side just to leave the zoo. overall I had fun, there were not too many animals were out because it's winter still but it was a pretty good visit

The Zoo is nestled on 2,600 wooded acres. It is the world's largest natural habitat zoo, so definitely wear your comfortable walking shoes. We walked 5 miles while strolling through.
It is really nice that the zoo comprises several areas representing different regions of the world.
It's exciting that they are bringing Asia to the zoo! It's currently under construction, and I can't wait for it to be completed.
Well worth the $15.00

Clean& fun. Well guided trails and trams to travel on. Good food is available at multiple spots in the zoo. Bathrooms are set throughout the whole zoo. And in great spots. The animals and environments are well cared for, and so magical to see. Strollers and handicap electric scooters available to rent. It really is worth the trip. And cheap tickets for such a large zoo. Recommended 100% for any age.
Also, the paths are all shaded by trees so it's not miserable to walk in the blaring sun.

Had a pleasant experience. Made sure to go on a day before it was too hot even though a good portion of the walk through the park is under well placed shade trees. I was able to walk the entirety of the zoo without trouble. Not all of the animals were able to be viewed who were either sleeping out of view or not there at all. Probably best to arrive at feeding time for best viewing opportunities. Staff all seemed friendly and helpful. Park is clean and well maintained. All in all a good day and worth the 90 mile drive.👍

The zoo was nice but the layout was strange and way too long between each exhibit. The food was way overpriced and the app to order ahead wouldn't work. The exhibits themselves were well done and most had good points where you could see the animals. We could see that a lot of construction was underway so may be in a little bit it will improve.

My wife and I went to the North Carolina Zoo. We didn't see some of the animals, probably out to lunch lol. Plan on doing a lot of walking in the woods up and down the paths. Bring plenty of water to drink and good walking shoes. It does get crowded but the people are friendly and polite. Admission for adults is $15. Cheaper for children and seniors.

Very well managed. The staff are very friendly and seem to enjoy their jobs and are very polite and respectful in their interaction with the visitors. Being a public holiday for most schools, it was definitely crowded but the trams were plentiful and frequent enough that we didn’t have to wait overly long in line.
The animals all seem healthy and well looked after. We were able to enjoy some of the animals up close via the zoofari and I definitely recommend reaching early to snag the limited tickets. Our guide Nancy was very informative and patient. Kudos to her!
We are eagerly awaiting the opening of the new Asia section and then the Australia one!
Also recommend taking out a membership because you will definitely want to visit multiple times!

This zoo is exceptionally clean and well-maintained. The staff is friendly. Zoo is so big, be prepared for extensive walking. They provide convenient amenities throughout, including water filling stations, restrooms, resting benches, and lemonade stalls. You'll find gift shops and food courts at key junctions.
Please note that certain attractions come with additional charges: Butterfly Gardens ($3), Carousel ($3), Treehouse Trekker ($3), and Giraffe Feeding ($5). Strollers are available for rent for kids.
During our visit, we noticed that some animals, like the lion and polar bear, were missing, possibly due to the hot weather.
There's a kids' playground and kids Zone in the North America section.
The zoo offers a tram service inside, running every 30 minutes to various junctions, and complimentary shuttle service to the parking lot. Parking is ample. Overall, it was a great experience!

It was Easter weekend and there ended up being a good crowd of people. I needed access to a motorized scooter because I wasn't able to walk and fortunately, I got the last one. I found this surprising, because it was only a few minutes after opening. And once they are gone, there are only regular wheelchairs. The animal were wonderful, though they didn't seem very active. It's a zoo..I'm really not a huge fan to begin with because I feel bad for the animals being confined, but what are you gonna do? It is what it is. Plenty of beautiful scenery and the staff was friendly and helpful.

One of the Top Ten Zoos in the country FOR SURE! I enjoy walking around and seeing and photographing the plant-life and floral-life equally as much as I do the animals! This is an absolutely beautiful zoo! Well cared for and landscaped. We love bringing our little boy here and he has always enjoyed himself here too! He loves the outdoor playground areas they have here for kids! FYI - If you buy the yearly family pass here at the zoo, it is also good to get you into the Sylvan Heights Bird Park, which is equally as AWESOME!!! Best bird aviary I have ever been to! Amazing! It is in the exact opposite direction from Raleigh though, but WELL WORTH the visit!!!

This is one of my favorite zoos. I generally have a love/hate relationship with zoos because I feel that many animals don’t have enough space in them. For the most part, other than a few of the large cats exhibits, I do not feel that way here. I’m impressed by how large the exhibits are. That does mean that there is a lot of walking and you may not see some animals. I think it’s a good trade off. Prices are cheap. The team is wonderful for when you’re exhausted and need a lift back to the front entrance. They have several education programs and are very involved in rehabilitation programming as well. 10/10 would recommend. I should also add that I’ve been several times and am a zoo member so I’ll definitely be back!

Great variety of animals to see! I was glad that the animals weren’t in sad cages. Their enclosures definitely mimicked the wild. Just a warning, there is a lot of walking! But
they do have a ton of trees throughout the zoo, so we were able to walk in the shade most of the time (on a day that was 90 degrees!).

There is trams to help you get to certain areas of the zoo faster, but there will still be a lot of walking. Plenty of bathrooms and places to get food or drinks through out the park. We can't wait to go back again soon to see all our favorite animals!

One of the best Zoos I have ever been to. The sheer size and number of exhibits is always so inspiring. Other than the polar bear not being out and about during our visit, every other enclosure had the animals front and center. Even with the construction on the new Asia region, there were no issues with the tram running frequently. We make an appointment to come at least twice a year.

We recently became Members which is well worth the price. Parking is always a concern but surprisingly we found a spot close to the entrance. Our 2 year old enjoyed herself and enjoyed the many activities for kids. We will definitely return to take our time.

We took a day off and stayed at a nearby hotel to visit the NC Zoo. Something unique about this zoo is that it is funded by the state of North Carolina, one of two zoos in the United States to have that! I believe that this contributes to the low price of the tickets, as well. The tickets were $15 for admission, which is a very low price to pay for a large zoo. It is also a huge zoo- the biggest natural habitat zoo in the world! We did a lot of walking on this day, and it was great exercise. We went through the zoo in a few hours. They have food and souvenirs, as most zoos do. The souvenirs are priced reasonably, and the food is a little bit expensive. We did not end up buying food here. Overall, we had a really nice time at the zoo. There is a good flow to the zoo's route. We came on a cloudy, chilly day, so we missed some of the animals such as the black bear, the white fox, and other cool animals. That's okay, though! I plan on coming back. They are currently building a new exhibit area, which I am excited for. We ended up at the "end" of the zoo, in the Africa area, and were too tired to walk all the way back to the front of the zoo. Luckily, they have a Tram that runs through the zoo, so we were able to go back and hitch a ride. All of the people that were working and/or volunteering were very friendly. Our favorite animals were the sand cats and the polar bear! It’s pretty clear that these animals are well-taken care of. They also have a series called “Secrets of the Zoo” that goes over some of the day-to-day operations and behind-the-scenes things. Super cool! I always appreciate and support AZA-accredited institutions, and this is one of them!

The NC Zoo in Asheboro is awesome for anyone who loves animals and nature. It's huge, covering 2,600 acres, and they've done a great job creating natural habitats for the animals.
The best part is seeing the animals in these habitats—it feels like you're right there with them in the wild. They've got all sorts of animals, from elephants and gorillas to polar bears and red pandas. It's a real mix, so there's something cool to see for everyone.
They've got fun stuff for learning too, like guided tours, animal encounters, and workshops about conservation. And the whole place is well-kept, with friendly staff and good food options.
If you're into nature and animals, the NC Zoo is definitely worth checking out. It's a fun and educational day out!

This zoo is absolutely incredible! They have lions, tigers, bears, elephants, giraffes, ostrich, zebras, bison, polar bears, otters, alligators, gorillas, chimps, and more! They have a really beautiful greenhouse-style desert ecosystem that has an abundance of desert plants, birds, and reptiles native to the desert, which is particularly cool. The zoo is huge--we walked over 5 miles from the North America entrance to Africa and back to our car--so I highly recommend wearing good walking shoes. They do have a free zoo bus that will take you between the different entrances and they run every 15-20 minutes. They also seem to do a good job with having ramps and labeling where the accessible ramps are for entering exhibits. We went on a weekday, which I highly recommend if you have the option, since there were fewer people with no lines to get in and see the animals. The zoo is incredible regardless of time of year--even in early February, there was a ton to see and we had a great time. I consider the zoo a must-see in North Carolina!
