Ocean World Adventure Park, Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic.
Ocean World Adventure Park is a water park located in the city of Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. The park features multiple animal encounters, like swimming with sharks & dolphins. Other attractions include water slides, making it one of the best places to visit with kids in Puerto Plata.
Been to this place twice and enjoyed my time there just as much the second time as the first. The animals seemed to be enjoying themselves too. So all us animal lovers can rest at night knowing that visiting this place doesn't bring any negative treatment. The handlers really care for their animals. Go and enjoy, have fun, and make wonderful memories.

Very nice place that is well kept up. The staff is there for you. The animals here seem to be well treated. It a full family fun day. Bring a bathing suit even if you are not swimming with the dolphins. Lots to do and see. Don't forget to visit the love bird cage. Pools and water slides for all ages.

What an incredible experience, and we have been to Discovery Cove in Orlando.. but this was a more intimate interaction with the dolphin, and the staff was very friendly and made everyone feel comfortable in the interaction. Bonus, my granddaughter who's 2, was able to be with us this time. The snorkel part is small and limited but worth it. We got to interact with the sea lion, which was so much fun. The beach area is awesome, and so was feeding the birds. The best part was that it wasn't crowded and food, drink selections were plenty.

Visited Ocean World while on a cruise excursion. To be honest the main reason we visited was for the Dolphin Encounter. This was an amazing experience and we were extremely happy we did this. The rest of the park is very nice, clean (including restrooms) and offers several shows and animal exhibits.

We came with an excursion group from the Carnival Cruise line. Carlos was our tour guide, and let me tell you that we struck the jackpot with him. We needed assistance for one of our friends, and he took it on with a smile on his face and a skip in his step.
This was no easy feat considering the terrain of the park.
The comradery that the staff had with each other made the visit even more enjoyable.
We did the dolphin, shark, and sea lion encounter, and I loved every bit of it. The day went by so fast. I would have loved to have done more. The park is just the right size to explore with a family that has small children.
If you forget anything, their shops are well stocked with all the essentials and prices that are fairly priced for a last-minute buy.
You can not take pictures during the encounters, but the picture package is really well priced, and it's nicer to have a professional taking them so you can just enjoy what you're doing. We got the package that had all of the pictures and a video. It was around $100, and there were 3 of us who were able to share the cost.
We really had a spectacular day, and we're able to help a friend check something off her bucket list.
Tracy D — Google review
Had a really fun time. Sea lion show was the best. Cute little man made beach inside and my kids liked the water slides, which I heard you have to pay for but we did not have to pay. Maybe because it wasn't crowded. Did not care for the lunch though.

This place was awesome. The best part from our trip. I can’t wait to come back April 2023. Very clean, animals taken care of, staff there for you and are very knowledgeable. We had an awesome tour guide. Love him to pieces. Ariel Polanco very kind person and very knowledgeable of his island and ocean world. We are back home in South Carolina and missing amber cove like crazy.

A different and wonderful adventure for all family members. You are going to want the "near and touch with Dolphins" package, it is not cheap, but worth the money, with this you even are going to give food (small fish alive) to dolphin 🐬
For Dominicans the entrance cost about $40 USD for adults and about $30 USD for kids below 12 years old. The package "close encounter with dolphins" (the most probably is that you are going to want to buy this optional package) have an extra price of about $60 USD for adults and $40 USD for kids and this is the most incredible experience at all in this place.
The cost of the entrance includes one lunch, from 12:30 p.m to about 2 or 2:30 pm, but WARNING! they DON'T give you any water or drink for free, YOU HAVE TO BUY ANY DRINK OR WATER for an extra price inside. They have about 3 stations for drinks inside, they also have alcoholic drinks, beers, cocktail 🍹 and soda 🥤. The prices for those drinks are average, about $2 USD for a bottle of water 💦 of 12 oz and about $8 USD for a cocktail 🍸 like "piña 🍍 colada" or about $$6 USD for a beer 🍺.
They also have inside an artificial beach ⛱️ (small, more friendly for kids) hamacas, seats for beach 🏖️ with umbrella 🏖️, Aquarium ♒ , seat Lion shows, swim with sharks (extra cost) and pools.
The best time to arrive is 11 am and they close about 6 pm. It is recommended going in weeks days because is less crowded.
Note: The Dolphin 🐬 water is salty and in the close encounter with Dolphins package you are going to be inside this water (not your head, only your body until chest) and this water look a bit dirty and smell a little bad.
Finally, says that all the staff are so nice 🙂

I had an amazing time here at Ocean World . There was something for everyone to enjoy. The marine life and shows were cool. I especially like hanging out on the beach on both the water floats and then chilling out in a hammock with an island drink. Lunch served was delicious. True island spices. And of course, their souvenir shop was wonderful with a large array of gifts and specialties.

I loved every minute of this place when I was in vacation. There is something for everybody to do and a huge variety of shows, immersion experiences and other activities to do. They have a water park with slides, inflatable climbing things, a scuba diving tank that is free to do!!! best experience I have ever had and my dream of swimming with the dolphins came true! I would 10000% go back again if I could.

Fun interactive park, you are able to enjoy the animal in their environment. Each show occurs every 15-30 minutes . You pay your entrance fee but you are able to book individual time to encounter the animal . Recommend for all age group

I signed up to visit Ocean World last minute through Norwegian Cruises and regret nothing. Our guide Alex couldn't have been any better. Kind, relatable, and really patient. Ocean world has a different vibe than other aquatic venues. You can really tell the staff loves the creatures they care for and really care about the experience the customers have. I didn't participate in any experiences other than feeding the love birds and watching some of the shows. The love birds were cute and the shows were all amazing.
BEAUTIFUL location. I could stand there and stare out into the ocean for hours. And the beach area was perfect for spending time relaxing. Could not have had a better time with a last minute decision ever!

Ocean World Adventure Park in Dominican Republic.
A must see if you have kids.
The good:
- Seal, dolphin, shark and bird shows through out the day.
- A giant swim tank where you are allowed to swim with the fishes and coral. (pictured)
- A live interactive aviary with hundreds of birds you can feed and take photos with
- Pools and man made beaches for relaxing, although, we didn't use that at all.
- a 3 story water slide.
- very friendly staff.
The not so good:
- Food was very sub-par; but this is a water park with marine wildlife, not a restaurant.

This was one of the most affordable excursions offered on our Carnival Cruise to this port. I wasn't sure what to expect, but we absolutely loved it. It is very clean, offers clean restrooms, and my tween daughter and I loved the snorkeling and the dolphin show. My teen daughter really enjoyed the innertubes on the beach and I loved that the umbrella and chairs were included in the cost. The beach area is nice, and the bus drive was air conditioned and only about 10 minutes from the ship. We did not do any of the extra activities they offer for an additional fee, but we had a wonderful few hours here and had zero complaints. Highly recommend!! We ate before we went but they do offer a meal for $18.

I absolutely love this place! Family with kids recommended! Also, family without kids will love this place. There is so much to see and experience. Great shows with dolphins. My kids love shows with sea lions. Sharks show was great experience too. Swimming with dolphins is the best memory! Snorkeling and see a lot of different fish. There is so much more to see and enjoy!
Alexander Shyshla — Google review
One was very friendly. Love the dance when we was entering. I enjoy the sea lion, the dolphins and the sharks. The trainers was very awesome. The only thing I did not like is I could not get my pictures. I've been trying to email someone to get my pictures and haven't received any answer yet. Back from anyone. I read the rules and it said I only had 20 days to receive my pictures. Will love to get them really. Enjoy myself
Melissa Applewhite — Google review
We paid to do the dolphin encounter. It was great! The trainer really allowed us to get up and personally pet, hug and kiss the dolphin. Either do thus or the dolphin experience, here you swim with them.
Gift shop was lacking. 🤔 There are great things for kids to do, water slides, slides lagoon, trampoline and other fun activities too plus great beach around lagoon. 😀
The buffet that is offered is a real let down! Plenty to do to enjoy for the whole day.
David Presher — Google review
I almost had the place for my own but it was a Monday so maybe. Nice park with shows every half hour, shark, Se lions, and dolphin's the best show by far the dolphins. Big park good for kids there is also this man made beach with Waterpark and food buffet included nice pool for the kids and young adults. You we'd to be in some good shape to do all the steps and bends Don think it suited old people. overall good experience

Best experience of our entire cruise. Did the doplin swim and let me tell you it did not disappoint! We got into the tank with the doplins and had them swim by us so we could rub their bellies and backs. We then got to "dance" with them, hug them and they gave us all kisses. The trainers also had the dolphins sing happy Birthday to my son which was awesome.

Truly a life long experience... Wonderfully kind staff. Paula was truly amazing.. kind friendly and a gem. Def a experience we won't forget. The exhibits and the shows the snorkeling and so on was a memory my wife and I will forever cherish. I would so love to be back some day

Wonderful experience at a stunning location. We had time there on a cruise and had the shark experience booked. It was amazing, definitely a bucket list type thing. We also saw the dolphin show, enjoyed the included lunch, and chilled on the beach. All facilities were clean and tidy and the staff were excellent!

My family and I had a great time at Ocean World. We swam with the dolphins, snorkled, spent time at the beach and it was a great time. The trainers were very informative and helpful. Overall, the facilities were very clean. The buffet wasn't all that great but food was edible.
We purchased an excursion here through Carnival Cruise Line. 10/10 would definitely recommend Ocean World to anyone. My kids age 10 & 12 loved it!
Derek Thomas — Google review
Went here on an excursion from RCCL. The place was great. Lots to see and do for all ages. Nice shops. Ac and shade available in case you get too hot. The beach was crowded, but not full. The place seemed clean and the animals looked in great shape

Beautiful beaches and activities at Ocean World. Food is a bit average so don't expect a whole lot of options there. Dolphin encounter was awesome!
PGA Golfnut — Google review
From the shuttle from our resort to the location itself, we had a great time. The dolphins, sea lions, sharks, macaws, etc. Everything was incredible. The kids giggled the day away. We had an amazing time and highly recommended it. The water slides were down for maintenance but that did not deter the amount of fun we had.
Chrissy Fried — Google review
We had so much fun at Ocean World! We did the sea lion encounter and it was very cool! There are a few different encounters to choose from and different scheduled shows you can watch. We also loved feeding the Love Birds and seeing the macaws and toucans! Our guide was fantastic; he was funny, enthusiastic, and very friendly.

Today I went to My Dream beauty salon for a haircut. Rosie did a great job! It’s the first time in almost 30 years that someone other than my hair dresser in Canada cut my hair. I’m visiting Cabarete for several weeks and I could not get a haircut before I left because all non essential services are closed in my province of Quebec. I definitely recommend this salon. Rosie was professional, very courteous and the salon was very clean.

I will highly recommend this salon in Caberete. Rosie thank you for looking after my damage blonde hair - she new exactly what my hair needed. A healthy color, a good cut (to get rid of the very damaged ends) and must needed blow dry. I will see you in a few weeks again when we come back to Cabarete 😁👌

I’ve been visiting this salon for 12 years. Manicures, haircuts, waxing. Always a good experience and the pricing is right. English and of course Spanish is spoken so never a misunderstanding about anything. Coffee is offered to anyone that may want it. It’s the only salon I use.

Welcoming, relaxed, beautiful, interesting, low light emission: excellent celestial viewing, great prices, decent food, community feel, animal and kid-family friendly. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because there’s currently only one place you can use credit card and the ATM is quite far and has low limits on what you can withdrawal. Also, like most beaches in the world, it could be clean. The kiting always entertains and the wind keeps you cool.
Alexandra Macare — Google review
A strong ocean wind harnessed by the adrenaline junkies of all races, creeds and colours. A bohemian gypsy cornucopia of colour, attitude and warmth. This is not a sport as much as it is a lifestyle statement.
Beautiful kites and beautiful people. Just show up and you will see.
Walk the beach either way and you are sure to find a newbie a wanna be, a gonna be and the Guru Be... Step into it, you won't regret it.

It's a beautiful beach and the myriad of colors from the kites makes the experience even more pleasant. The kites are really a sight to behold! However, I find that the waves 🌊 are too strong for non-surfers to enjoy, keep that in mind when planning to visit especially if one has small kids.

Super cool, you get to jump in 2 natural pools inside of caves. You learn a lot as well. It is actually better to go if it’s a little rainy because there are no mosquitoes. So it’s perfect, when it’s too rainy to enjoy the beautiful beach come do this.

This is a must see in Cabarete! We loved it! 1.5 hours and about 20$ US. Our guides were the best!!! Very friendly and helpful. Thank you so much- we cannot wait to return with more friends. :) Muchas Gracias

We were in 3 caves. The first one was for swimming, the second one just for taking pictures and the third one for jumping and swimming. You need sturdy shoes. The caves were nice but overpriced for us. They wanted 1000 pesos per person.
Lukáš Doubrava — Google review
We enjoyed our personal tour through this protected area. Our tour guide spoke excellent English and appreciated sharing about the caves and the plant life around plus about the local community. His 'assistant' Leo was the grandchild of the head of the guiding association and over the course of the tour he warmed up a bit and showed off his jumping skills in the last cave.
We had great fun swimming in two of the caves- water was clear and the entire area was free of rubbish which was refreshing. Upon exit we noticed that there is an effort for continuing to reforest as there were several saplings to plant.
The reason for the 4 instead of the 5 star is there is something not fully clear about the system. When you drive up you are greeted a person who directs you where to park. Next you are shown to check in at the guide hut. There they explain the tour and what to expect and will provide you the equipment. They also take your money which is about $20/person if you are a foreigner. Locals I believe pay $5. Then they walk you over the to national park office where they give you the wrist band and a receipt which shows a much smaller amount than what you paid. It is here where there is a lack of consistency and leaves you wondering where is the money going. There seemed to be many people working there and the place was clean and being looked after but without having postings of pricing and the two different offices it leaves a bit of wonderment.
The tour itself was good and informative and worth the money and time.
Mara Simmons — Google review
Great experience for those into natural wonders and light adventures. Lots of steep stairs I and out of the caves.
Marina Dewees — Google review
The caves are not so big but it's easy to get down to them! You need a guide! The service is excellent and professional! They are at the end of "Callejon de la Loma", so you can see how the Dominicans live!
Manfred Zeitler — Google review
Great place for an adventure, swim and being around the nature.
Rosalba Walker — Google review
Be careful - tourist trap. They charge 20USD per person and tell you that the trip takes 1.5h, while it could be easily covered within 20 minutes. It's just mainly about swimming in two caves. To me it was not worth it

C\Principal Callejón de la Loma, Cabarete 57000, Dominican Republic
The Monument to the Heroes of the Restoration is a notable landmark situated on an elevated position in downtown. Its eight-story tall structure, originally built to commemorate Rafael Trujillo, was later rededicated to honor Dominican soldiers who fought for independence against Haiti. The stairs leading up to the monument are lined with large bronze statues of generals while its sixth floor museum showcases the fascinating history of Dominican Republic. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of Santiago from this hilltop monument, attracting many tourists and students alike.
DR had a very turbulent history - it was switched between the Spanish and Haitian rule, and had to fight for its independence several times.
This imposing monument stands proudly in the second biggest DR city.
It is dedicated to victims of the Restauration war against Spain which was fought 1863-65 after Spain regained DR shortly after its first independence from Haiti.
Entering the ground floor is free, while there's a couple of dollars fee to climb up. The elevator did not work, but it is a very mild climb via spiral staircase through several levels and on each is a museum, diorama and some info on that war.
Once on top there're great views of entire city.
Dejan Braki — Google review
Such a beautiful place, with amazing views, showing the heritage and history of Dominican Republic... But the place also has garbage all around in the top of the monument stairs and littered garbage all around. Some of the statues name plates are damaged and the large stone letters are destroyed. So disappointing that it's not taken cared off properly and its such a beautiful place.
Justo Bello (Hitokirivon) — Google review
Was closed to get inside. Nice windy fresh up there.
To bad people buy drinks and leave the bottles and trash all over the place.

Jose Lantigua (Jochy) — Google review
The most popular tourist attraction in Santiago. It’s wonderful to see in the daytime but at night it’s just as beautiful as it is lit up with the colors of the Dominican flag. The views from the top are fabulous. I can imagine what it’s like when the museum is open and you can climb up the monument.

All around awesome. A must see, can't miss, historical, architectural marvel in the heart of the City of Heart. Amazing food, drink and entertainment spots in the streets around the base of the monument. Want to see breathtaking views of the city of Santiago, enjoy some frosty cold beverages and fantastic food? Go to the Monumento!

Very nice museum inside and detailed explanations of the different battles the country fought to gain its independence. Excellent view on the 5th floor or the whole city. The tickets were $100 pesos ($2 USD) per adults and $20 pesos for kids.

The self-guided tour up the tower is nice, but even if you don't make it up there, just being on the grounds, around the Monument, is a cool experience! Go at dusk and watch the sunset. That's my recommendation.
Victor Rothaar — Google review
Nice monument with views to the entire city of Santiago. For a small fee you get to go to the top floor. On the other floors there are small history exhibits.
Best way to do it is to take the elevator to the top floor to see the city view and on the way back take the stairs, and check out each floor one by one.
Jungletraveler00 12 — Google review

The Centro Cultural Eduardo León Jimenes is a modern museum located east of downtown, funded by the tobacco wealth of the Jimenez family. It boasts an impressive collection of paintings that trace the evolution of Dominican art in the 20th century. Divided into three sections, the museum features exhibits on local ecology, cultural heritage and Taino history, as well as permanent and temporary collections of Dominican art.
It is nice place to learn about Dominican history. From the time the Spanish conquered the island until a recen time of modernity. Also has an art gallery a gift shop and a coffee shop plus a mini library. Staff were nice and everything was spotless. The entrance fee as today is 150 pesos per person.

Really nice. The private collection is quite extensive, with a big range of art pieces (no pictures can be taken in that room tho). Otherwise, the other section was quite informative with a lot of history and art as well. Note: the second floor was closed due to a new exhibit in the works. Highly recommend a few hours to stop by and see amazing local art, alongside learning about local history and culture.

Mixed feelings. As other reviews mention, 99% is in Spanish, security employees follow you looking and acting awkward. The exhibits are good, especially the art. The biggest let down is the cafeteria. A complete unorganized mess on a Sunday afternoon visit. Super incompetent cashier working on a complex register system. Waited 40 minutes for a ham and cheese sandwich, and that’s after waiting 15 minutes to place an order.

When in Santiago, a must-visit is the La Aurora Cigar Factory, one of the oldest and largest cigar factories in the Dominican Republic. It offers an informative and free tour twice daily, where visitors can witness the process of turning tobacco leaves into cigars guided by knowledgeable staff. The factory workers craft various types of cigars, and at the end of the tour, guests are gifted with some to enjoy.
Outstanding experience! I would do the tour again and I will when and if I am back in the DR. This tour explains everything that goes into a good quality cigar. They start with the seed, the various leaves of the plant, growing conditions, aging, blending and many other steps that go into hand rolling some of the best cigars made. Best tour ever!

Had a great time at La Aurora! Eugene was amazing and very knowledgeable. Learned how to properly smoke a cigar and most of all enjoy it. Its a free tour, just call their office and set it up. Everyone greeted us professionally and with a warm smile.

Eugene was an amazing guide. He is extremely knowledgeable about every aspect of cigar making. Definitely a must visit even if you are a novice like myself. They also have a nice store to purchase all different types of cigars.

We had the most amazing time with Ute and her team! From the beginning, they make sure you are comfortable and it's clear that they care for their horse and keep them healthy and in great working condition (they spend most of their time in large open pasture!) We had three children with us (10, 7, 4) and they had horses with the appropriate age, size, and temperament for all of us. The tour started through a local village where Ute pointed out local plants, schools, etc and we made our way into the mountains. After stopping for a soft drink in a local Dominican house we continued to the river where we spent the rest of the ride along and in the river. This was our favorite part! It was so serene and beautiful and the water felt good on a hot day. We even got a chance to stop and take a dip. One of the best parts is that they can tailor the ride to your riding preference. My older son wanted to ride a bit faster and they gave us several opportunities to let the horses run while my younger daughters stayed with one of the other guides and continued at a slower pace. Everything was perfect! I cant recommend them enough!

Amazing experience! Everything was very well organized: transfer from hotel, mountain/river route, a break with refreshments, wonderful nature sightseeing spots, river and of course well cared horses! Even our kids 9 and 11 y.o. enjoyed this excursion so much
Thanks Ute!
Some day we will definently return for a half day route🙂
Anna Oliinyk — Google review
We did a full day river tour, and I would advice everyone to do so. You will be stunned by the nature you see during the day. The tour is well organised, including lunch and a tour guide with knowledge. Ute takes great care of the horses, who are all rescued. They are well fed, they never walk two days in a row, and by asking your weight, height and experience, Ute matches you with the right horse. It was an absolute blast to have experienced this, best day of our trip to Dominican :)

Such an amazing excursion 3 hour ride through mountain and a river. Learned so much about Dominican too
Horses are well kept and free range in pasture until they are used.

Had an amazing tour! I don't have much experience with horseback riding, but Ute gave me the right horse. I would love to have had more time to do all the tours. Ute showed all the animals she has, and explained a lot about her work. Thanks for the great time!

The whole tour was informative, educational. and above all safe. You can't go wrong the best experience on the north coast , but my best tour was by far the mountain river tour cant tell you how many times we crossed the river mostly through a river gorge steep lush hillside on both side and no "Mosquitos " perfect experience you can't go wrong on this tour

After making a tour in February 23rd, we highly recommend horse riding with Rancho El Contento. The breathtaking scenery and the well-being of the horses make it an exceptional experience. Ute, the owner, has a vast ranch where the horses live freely. It's evident that the ranch genuinely cares for the animals, and the tours are aimed at sustaining the ranch rather than maximizing profits. It's truly amazing to see such dedication and care. Don't miss out on this remarkable opportunity! - Alexandra & Nico
Alex T. — Google review
We visited Ute and her horses in April 2023 and had a great time. I strongly recommend doing a tour with her instead of doing any of the other horse riding tours in the area, as Ute's horses are treated ethically and allowed to live a good life with her on the ranch. She treats them kindly and does not overwork them.
We did a three hour (approximately) ride. We were all beginners, including two kids, and everything went fine, as Ute picks the appropriate horse for each rider. We saw beautiful countryside and developed comfort and basic horsemanship skills. 10/10! If I am in the area again, I will be sure to visit for another tour and to support this great organization.

Getting the chance to ride with Ute at Rancho el Contento was such an amazing experience. Every trip to the Dominican, we try and make time to get to go hangout and ride here. The work she does with taking care of these horses is amazing and the ride is a once in a lifetime experience.
Vibrant park known for its kid-friendly water slides, pools & playground, plus grab-&-go eats.
It's already been 2 times that we go and we will continue to return to the aquatic world, recommended to go with the whole family..
Alfonso Abalos — Google review
The place looks much nicer online than it actually is, 10 years ago I’m sure it was beautiful but they have not made any repairs and is not well kept. Paint is chipping everywhere. Pool was not clean, lots of debris, and workers just sitting around. They did not turn on any water slides until 2pm. Only one small section worked. But you still pay the price for the whole park. I wouldn’t go back, but the kids had fun anyway on the 2 slides that were open.
Johanna Croteau — Google review
Good place to have around, but should be kept a bit cleaner. Park needs lots of maintenance and some investment. The food is horrible. Bathroom are poorly cleaned.
Cris_DR809 — Google review
I really enjoy this facility. It mostly utilized by the locals. It's cheap but unfortunately they do a poor job with keeping the pool clean and facility needs a fresh coat of paint just about everywhere.
Carlos Taylor — Google review
This place is a total dump! The water was so nasty and cloudy. Life guards were not paying attention to children’s safety at all. It’s run down and super old mayor repairs are needed!!! Hygiene wise I am speechless. 🤢🤢🤢. I would not come back here even for free.
The environment in my opinion is not appropriate for children. All you see is adults getting super wasted with several of bottles of liquor at the tables while children are not attended. In addition music was so noisy.
Horrible environment don’t even bother.
Arrecis — Google review
I arrived very late they were about to close. People are very friendly. But i think this place has a great potential but i have a feelings that it is not well maintained. The structure, the railings are rusted. The store is closed and not many choices in term of food. It can be improved.
Rolf Louis — Google review
My family and I visited this facility while we were in DR recently. The water is very nasty. It’s always dirty and has dead bugs in it all the time. They need to do a better job cleaning the pools. The whole park needs to be repaired and painted which will help make it look better. It’s rusty and dusty. The workers are nice and try their best to do their jobs. The food was not good either. We ordered a pizza and had to send it back. It was just bread with tomato sauce. The place has potential because kids do enjoy it. It just needs better maintenance.
karina acosta — Google review
Good place to cool down from the heat. They have lots of water slides, and a big kids (family) pool.
Jose Acevedo — Google review
Its okay. I took my family on a Saturday in December. The water features were turned off most of the visit, but they did turn the water features on for one hour from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM that day which made the experience slightly better than a regular swimming pool. We were one of only two families there that whole day, so probably they needed to do some cost saving. Otherwise, it is just a pool and a mediocre kid area. Might be worth a visit if you know not to expect too much :)

If you’re anywhere near this place or looking for an excuse to explore the region, Spirit Mountain is a must do. Just follow Google Maps navigation and check in with Rosa at the house with the picnic tables. We took a great walking tour with Julio and learned about the different varieties of coffee being grown, and the stages of processing etc. We then drove up to just before the Camp area and parked and hiked to the waterfall. We did the hike in about an hour and a half in, and an hour or so out with our 2 and 9 year olds. It’s fairly steep in certain sections. Make sure you bring plenty of water and some snacks if you plan on staying at the falls for a bit. It’s absolutely worth the hike. I won’t spoil the falls with a picture but I promise, it’s impressive. We were invited to try some coffee on the way out but our little one had already fallen asleep so we skipped it this time! We will def come back again.

You will have one of the best experience of your life in Rancho Jarabacoa. The Canyoning (using the techniques of Rappelling) is their most extreme mountain adventure, and one of the most exciting sports in the country. You'll hike the mountain and have direct contact with the nature, then jump 2 waterfalls. After that, with the help of ropes and harness, you'll descend canyons, and enjoy the rush of this experience. The staff is very professional and highly trained, they care a lot about your safety and the conservation of the environment. Totally recommended.
Baiguate Waterfall is a stunning natural wonder located in Jarabacoa, offering a breathtaking sight as it cascades down 82 feet into an emerald-green pool. The journey to the waterfall is just as impressive, with scenic views along the way. Visitors can opt for a guided horseback or motorbike ride to reach the waterfall and take a refreshing swim in its cool waters. Despite the heavy water flow from recent rainfall, the crystal-clear nature of the falls remains intact.
Don't leave Jarabacoa without visiting Baiguate waterfall, seriously. Super easy to get to, super chill walk to the fall once you arrive, amazing site when you finally get there. Absolutely breathtaking.
Roberto De Los Santos — Google review
This place it's cool, and the water it's really refreshing. Don't get a bad impression of the water because it looks like it's full of mud or dirty, it really looks like that because the sand is yellow, but the water that drops from the waterfall is crystal clear, this is a must go place in Jarabacoa.
Leonardo Santana — Google review
Although it is a short walk it gives you the feeling of hiking in the forest and the waterfall is very pretty.

Beautiful waterfall. It is a 1km walk down a mountain path with about 5 stories of stairs down to the waterfall. This is the first and only place I've visited that doesn't have trash everywhere. Thank you to the keepers of this beautiful place.

Paid 100 pesos for parking no entrance fee.🙏🏿 The park seems to be well kept. Although there being a lot of garbage bags up in your face in clear site, it is too bad some people still manage to leave there plastic waste behind. 🤦🏾♀️ Saw a green snake 🐍 on my walk back from the waterfall. The fossit in the bathroom did not work and i needed to be creative when flushing. Always be prepared when it comes to your hygiene. ☺️
Sergine Boyer — Google review
It’s rained a lot, so the water is very heavy. The river was high and get out to take a picture of the falls. The sun at 10 am is directly over the falls and makes it hard to see from the front, especially with the mist in the air. There is a second Path that goes up on top over the falls, but there is no railing on the stairs, so you need to be careful.

Salto Jimenoa Two is a stunning waterfall located in the picturesque region of Jarabacoa. The hike to reach the waterfall can be challenging, but the sight of the cascading waters makes it all worthwhile. Visitors can enjoy a leisurely walk on suspension bridges and marvel at the natural beauty surrounding them. Although access to Salto Jimenoa Two may be limited at times, its grandeur and tranquility make it a must-see destination for nature enthusiasts.
Very nice waterfall. Requires some fitness and hiking skills to get there and especially to come back.

Nice big waterfall.
Like 15 min walk on some bridges with plants and the lake on the side/under.
You wont get wet dont worry, and the road is built well.
Thing is, you’re like 100 meters away from it and cant get in the water - but might be worth the small walk.
For Americans, 100 meters is like a football field.
After you exit the waterfall there is a nice walk in the woods you can take and sit on the river and even go in if you like - its cold!

The hike to get there is incredibly difficult and coming back, but when you get to the waterfall, the beauty of that fall will make you forget the struggle you went through to get there. The day I went was rainy, so the waterfall was all by myself and full of water. I saw the waterfall at its full potential. I want to cry. How beautiful is that waterfall? By the way, there are two Salto Jimenoa numbers 1 and 2. Salto number 2 is easier to access, but it was closed when I was in Jarabacoa. The Salto I went was numbered 1.
Esthefany Vidal — Google review
An awesome hike to Salta Jimenoa 1 waterfall. The trail leads to the beach of the falls where you will find a small Sandy Beach. The water is clean and clear. A little cool since it is coming from a deep mountain spring. The trail is somewhat steep and a little slippery. There are benches placed strategically at intervals to allow for a rest, particularly on the way up. It takes about half an hour to descend and a little more to come back up. There is not too much traffic and it's a good shot for a picnic. While there you can check with Tony and do some paragliding. 😀

I'll never travel to Santo Domingo without this trip planner again
Valle Nuevo National Park, situated in the heart of the Dominican Republic, is a stunning destination with diverse natural attractions. The park's high-altitude plateau offers cool temperatures and a rich variety of flora and fauna, including cloud forests, alpine grasslands, and rocky mountains. It's an ideal spot for activities like trekking and birdwatching. Visitors can immerse themselves in the beauty of pine trees and fresh air while exploring the area.
Probably one of the most beautiful places in the entire country. And given the fact that this is the Caribbean, it's even that much more special. Beautiful mountains, pine trees and fresh air. Hard to beleive that you are really in the middle of the Caribbean. You can spend days up there exploring everything. It's even one of the only spots in the country where camping is not only permitted, but encouraged.

It's a beautiful beautiful place, I can say it'smarvelous, one of the two path is okay, and safe, but the second one that takes you to the top of the waterfall is dangerous, you have to be careful, and if you are not in shape of exercise you can get tired, cause is a walking up and up. If you are going there, take a coat with you, I also used gloves cause my fingers got really cold and also You can use it to hold on while you go up and down and take appropriate shoes because you can slide.

Hidden little gem! Not far from the main road at all. Our guide, Nadia, was considerate and knowledgeable, and very patient with our awful Spanish. She showed us a porous rock that, when wet, can be put on your face like a mud facial! The falls and surrounding jungle were beautiful. The trail isn't smooth, with little rocks everywhere but if you watch where you're going you'll be fine. Loved seeing the cacao pods in the trees and hearing how they are harvested and turned into cocoa and coffee. Highly recommend this place.

The Hispanola island is rich of beautiful landscape with rual rivers and waterfalls. The Jima is one of these rivers, which is coming from the mountains of the central cordilleras of the main island. The northern part is situated with the regular landscape full of agriculture for tropical fruits. The hills and mountains are still empty and wild, but the locals find the beautiful places, like this waterfall. The access from the central autopista is with an about 5min ride into the mountains on a road with good conditions. To find the right access is a little bit complicate, you need follow your gps-map very carefully. The landscape park with the waterfall has an entry fee of approx. 100 pesos per person plus the guide. The walkway is not so easy but during normal days it's like a walk in the botanical garden. After 30 min walking you get the spectacular view of the waterfall. Yes, you can have a fresh bath inside the natural pool. Also one thing all the locals love too much! Enjoy it!

The bridge is currently closed so there is no access to the falls. Went down an alternate trail along the river which was still nice. The water is very clean, however there is trash thrown all over the place and I witnessed someone just dropping a juice bottle on the ground. Sad that people have to throw their trash on the ground when both garbage and recycle bins are available at the beginning of the trail. The nice guy who watches the parking lot told me it would be about two weeks before the bridge is open again. Anyone want to volunteer a day with me to pick up all the trash? I will provide the bags and remove them to a proper dumpster.

One of the best and most exciting experiences I ever had in my life!
These sacred caves were used by the Native people of the Caribbean, the Taino and the Igneri, for thousands of years, and contain hundreds of petroglyphs which are so great to observe.
The guides are very informative, kind and helpful, and do a great job in taking visitors and tourists to different caves, with detailed explanations.
The area is suitable for families and children, with wide open spaces, meadows and woods. A place to relax also.
So bad to see the limestone caves endangering the caves just out of the Anthropological Park! I do hope the government will protect the caves!
Definitely a place I recommend to all, Dominicans and tourists alike!

Been to Dominican Republic 4 Times and this by far and away the best thing I’ve done these caves are stunning in their size and history. The Taino pictographs are amazing to look at how is this not a world unesco heritage site? I fear for this treasure with mining site that you have to drive through to get to it. In any other place in the world would be a highly visited and protected location. The guide was amazing and very knowledgeable but only spoke Spanish but the sights were beyond words. This is an Indiano Jones adventure. Please visit and look after your guides!

Guide was so knowledgeable, worked there for over 20 years, told us a lot of stories and Taínos information. Very nicely maintained area, sculptures of Taino, gift shop, parking, security...all good.
Bat’s cave is just amazingly cool.
We have time just for 2 caves so we’ll be back few more times to continue our experience.
Also: don’t forget to stop and buy Banilejos mango 🥭 on your way back. Your trip wouldn’t be the same 😂

Great place, although it can use some improvements. Very educational, entertaining. The use of a guide is mandatory because it is a large area with many caves and nooks. Could easily get lost or injured.
David Contreras-Saez — Google review
Underrated, have been there twice now. Lots of great Taino pictograms, our first guide was really knowledgeable and both times we were the only people there. First time it was my wife and I and we explored the caves. The second time we took my in-laws, my father had recently had knee surgery but was still able to see a lot as much of the main cave is paved and accessible.

We attended Expo Mango 2023 at the Centro Cultural Perelló in Baní yesterday. Baní is very fortunate to have such a beautiful event center. The exterior and interior areas are beautifully landscaped. Indoors there are areas devoted to artwork, meeting rooms and a large and comfortable amphitheater where we listened to many speakers at the Jornada Técnica de Mangos dedicated this year to ex-President Hipolito Mejia, Promoter de la Fruticultura Dominicana. The facility was in excellent condition, clean and well-managed.

Light-filled shopping center with chain retailers & indie boutiques, plus a cineplex & supermarket.
This is a big bubbly mall. The food court was packed. It seemed like the best place to meet friends and hangout. There's also a movie theater inside. I had an empeñada from a food place near the escalator. I forgot the name of it, but it was really good. It was baked perfectly, not fried like others. I was too hungry to take a pick...I was also surprised to see a Korean store in the mall selling everything Korean. Food, drinks, candy, etc.

Undoubtedly, the Mall is one of the most impressive malls in Santo Domingo, with 5 levels of fine shopping centers in the center of the city. Its prices are somewhat elevated, but it is worth a visit.

Good shopping experience…clean restrooms, variety of internationally recognized stores, variety of dining options including healthy options, clean well maintained restrooms. My only challenge was the lack of free publicly accessible wifi. To access the directory you have to scan a QR code but without wifi you are left out in the cold. That was the only drawback.

very professional run mall with a vast variety of goods and services. extremely clean and secure. Parking area is run smoothly considering the traffic in Santo Domingo. Guards are extremely attentive to customer safety. People are friendly and kind. Atmosphere is least hectic week days and Thursday nights . Weekends every one is there, Despite being busy at the weekend you can always find a quiet corner for coffee or organic juices.

The best mall in DR.
On the higher end of the pricing spectrum. Not the most expensive nor the cheapest.
Lots of great shops and restaurants.
Most of the time very good entertainment. This time there were two young girls playing classical and modern music with two violins.
If you want to shop while in Santo Domingo, got to stop at Agora Mall.

The staff is very friendly in the mall and the atmosphere is great. I love the architecture and the amount of stores they provide in this mall for browsing and for temptation. The food stalls all the way to the top floor which has an amazing view interior and exterior; mostly interior since exterior is just the city. But overall it is worth the visit for any unplanned events. Credit card acceptable.

It is a very nice mall with all the amenities you can expect from a mall. If you are from the USA, you are likely to find all US products but at higher prices. The good part is that it is a one-stop shop for everything. I do recommend the Italian restaurant on the 4th floor.

The Malecon Centre was a bold concept, hotel, shopping mall, offices, apartments and a hotel. Although it remains impressive, unfortunately it never really enjoyed real commercial success, many apartments remain on the market, the hotel has been eclipsed by others and many of the commercial properties are vacant, whilst the whole project has a distinctly run down feel.

Residencial 8M, Av. Independencia 608, Santo Domingo 10104, Dominican Republic
Ciudad Colonial is the ancient heart of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic's capital, and is recognized as the oldest continuously inhabited European-established settlement in America. It has received UNESCO's World Heritage Site status due to its rich history and cultural significance. The area is also considered to be the safest in Santo Domingo, with most tourist attractions within walking distance.
The Alcázar de Colón is a historic palace in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic that was once the home of Diego Colon, son of Christopher Columbus. Built by him and featuring period furniture and art, this museum offers visitors a glimpse into colonial life in the Americas. For a small fee of only $2, tourists can take an audio tour that provides valuable insight into the history of the palace.
This is well worth visiting. The audio guide is quite brief but gives useful information. It’s provides a good insight into how grand and commanding this building was when constructed. Good views over the river and fortifications. Don’t miss spotting the building that used to be the stables in the plaza. It is also a cool shelter from the heat of the day.
Timothy Howes — Google review
My bad luck, past 3 trips, I have encountered something like this every trip. Chicago- bean was under construction. Acadia, can’t see the sunset due to fog, and now this. The place was closed for renovation.
Overlooking the Plaza de España and the Ozama River, the Alcázar de Colón (Columbus Palace) was built in the early 1500s as the governor’s residence. Once the home of Diego Colón, Christopher Columbus' son, this 16th-century viceregal palace (or residence of the governor/viceroy) was the nucleus of the Spanish court for more than 60 years.
Explore 22 rooms over two stories inside the restored palace and museum, and see a collection of furniture, household items, artworks, tapestries, musical instruments, and weaponry, which offer a glimpse of life in Colonial Santo Domingo.
A tour of the Alcázar de Colón is a must for anyone who wants to learn more about the city's rich history. And be sure to pick up some headphones to take advantage of the museum's self-guided audio tours
Today, it’s one of the Colonial Zone’s most popular museums, and houses period furniture, artworks, and artifacts from the 16th century.
Sanjay Gupta — Google review
Beautiful Old historical residential museum in the heart of Zona Colonial which was built by Diego Columbus. The ticket to enter was about $2/person. It comes with an audio device where you can learn about the history of the museum and each room. On the second floor, you can see a beautiful view of the river and the Colonial area. We spent about 30-45 minutes here and it's definitely worth visiting if you are in the colonial area. It was not crowded and the staffs were pleasant.
Ashok Kadariya — Google review
Alcazar de Colon is the oldest royal residential edifice in all Americas.
It was built under the Diego Columbus (Christofer's son) orders as his residence he shared with his wife Maria de Toledo in the early 16 c.
It's a two-story bldg - one side oriented at Ozama river with great views of the river and Columbus lighthouse and the other side towards the big Plaza de Espana sq.
Entry fee is cheap - few bucks, and you need less than an hour for a visit.
Imo, the authenticity of the furniture is questionable, as the palace was looted many times, heavily by pirate Drake, but it is still a great place to visit in Zona Colonial.

The Italian Renaissance inspired Alcazar de Colón [Castle of Columbus] is also called Palacio Virreinal de Diego Colón [Viceroy Palace of James Columbus]. This building was the first viceroy palace in the Americas, along with the home of Colón y Toledo. According to the sign on the outside of the palace, the family built the house by 1511 and lived in the house until 1577. Last restored in 1955, the building is now a historical museum with sporadic opening times. The museum was closed for maintenance during my visit.
Abigail Epplett — Google review
Did not unfortunately see the new restoration this trip around but it looks like it's coming out great! The plaza and zone was packed with people and tourists. It seems to be all coming along quickly. They are restoring most historical building around as well. The areas to eat have expanded a lot as well. So many options to choose from.

Valu Quest (Valuquest) — Google review
Museum is reasonably interesting but quite small with little description on the artifacts. Audioguides are given out at the entrance however I had a tour goide and don't believe I got as much out of it as I might have, since explanation was about little other than it being Christopher Columbus' house which was destroyed by Frances Drake. It's unfortunate the remainder of the building to give a truer idea of how the place functioned.
Agberolistic — Google review
We had a guided tour. It was facinating to learn about the history of these Spanish upper.class that came to live in Santo Domingo. Much of the furniture and decorations are original, even if the actual structure is not. Most notable was that Christopher Columbus son and his wife were the ones to occupy the palace. Really, quite exceptional to see

Originally built as a church in the 18th Century, now it's the Pantheon for the heroes of the DR. It was here that I learned this fun fact: The flag of the DR is only national flag on Earth that includes an image of the Holy Bible.
Beautiful building; easy stop; allow a half hour or so.

What a beautiful place. Mesmerizing architecture and most importantly full of history. Salome Ureña and her husband, pedro Santana, and many other important figures of the Dominican Republic history rest in this museum. The flame is eternally on and it uses coconut oil. The architecture incorporates french, Arabic, Spanish and local touches. The ceiling painting is beautiful with the day of the judgement on the right side and eternal life on the left side. Flags of the armed forces are also displayed including Dominican Army, DR Navy, national police, and other institutions of order.
There still some available spaces for tge future heroes of Dominican Republic
The entrance is free of cost. There are some local guides who can provide detailed information about museum and visitors can provide a tip of 5 dollars or less if the prefer. I recommend this place.

Stunning building, looks like an ancient church turned into national monument, not very easy to interpret if you're not Dominican, needs a bit more effort to make it more tourist friendly, maybe with interactive QR codes here and there so it can be easier to navigate, though the feeling of national shrine is there, very solemn space.

Columbus Park (Parque Colón) is the main square of the Ciudad Colonial historic district (Zona Colonial) in Santo Domingo. The central square is notable for its historic monuments and buildings, particularly the statue of Christopher Columbus at its heart.
The square is at the start of Calle del Conde, the city’s most notable street, and is a great starting point for exploring Zona Colonial and its historic buildings. It is one of the most popular squares in Santo Domingo. One of the plaza’s main draws is its wide-open view, with the Alcázar de Colón palace as a backdrop.
All around are cafés and bistros with outdoor seating offering an uninterrupted view of the square. The square lies at the end of Calle Las Damas, the New World's oldest paved street.
Surrounded by historic buildings, restaurants, and cafés, with a large statue of Christopher Columbus in the center, the paved open square of Columbus Park is a popular gathering spot for locals and tourists.
Large shady trees with benches underneath offer a place to sit, relax, and people-watch. Visit the park as part of a sightseeing tour of Colonial Zone highlights.

Beautiful church without a doubt a must see!
However:
When buying tickets if you do so with dollars be very careful with the change as they will give the worst value for your dollars, it is to my surprise that the practices at this church related to money are as such, in no other place in Dominican Republic I felt that people were trying to take advantage of tourists, it is a shame on the workers or management of this place to steal money from tourist.

Nice place but the waves are a little strong and I didn't like the black sand gets you really dirty, but the overall experience is nice , the food and the music ,plus it's not an overcrowded beach

Beautiful beach! Fish for sale from local fishermen is fresh and cheap!
The 3 Eyes National Park is a serene public park that features a set of caverns housing picturesque underground lagoons. The park offers a unique natural experience, with beautiful trees and birds adding to the refreshing atmosphere. Visitors have the option of hiring guides at an additional cost, but it's not necessary to explore the park independently. The entrance fee is reasonably priced at around $10, making it accessible for all visitors.
Lumps in the middle of the town, so fresh and incredible to see this open heart with clear water, beautiful trees and birds. A real good escape in Santo Domingo

Traveling often can often leave you less impressed but this park was definitely something different than what we have seen. It’s definitely original and very well kept. The cave was very hot so that was a bit disappointing that we were dripping wet when we got out of there. But we definitely enjoyed this beautiful experience of nature. If you’re in SD I would recommend you check it out.

Beautiful nature in the middle of the city! The caves, water and nature is beautiful! Highly recommend people going here. Be sure to purchase tickets before you go, so you can have the QR code ready for them to print out or else you end up spending forever trying to load the website and forever to pay, especially if you are tourists. Other than the check in, the place itself has a great view and is self guided, but they do have a tour guide if you need it.

Wow! Beautiful national park! The caves are fun to explore and the price is not bad at all. It's about 200 pesos per person. I recommend you visit this park if you are in Santo Domingo.

It was a great site to visit in the city. We paid a guide, while took alot of photos of us. Definitely take the boat to the other lake. Buying the tickets was awkward they had you scan a QR code, register and pay. It would have been much easier to just hand them a credit card.

This is a beautiful place!!!!
There is one of the lakes you need to cross in a boat , in very dark cave and they looks like paradise.
We went with some friends and we enjoyed a lot this place.

A magnificent place to see a natural cave with transparent water inside. There are a lot of stairs, so be ready to walk on large stairs. You can bring your kids above 5 (recommended) if they like this kind of adventure.
In the deep of the cave, there is a "boat" that transfers you to the other side of the cave where you can see a magnific lake outside of the cave, so bring your cam to take amazing pics.
This place is very hot and humid in summer, so bring relaxed clothes. The place is very secure and crowded, especially with tourists, so relax and enjoy the view.

It was a fun experience. The tour guide told us the history of the cave along with information regarding the flora and fauna that thrive there. We learned about the benefits of the water etc.
The park had clean public restrooms and the entry cost was reasonable. They also had craft vendors selling souvenir items . On the lawns were native artwork and native trees.

The caves here would definitely be worth a 5 star reputation but the people selling the tickets just spoil this.
I'm going to explain what I mean:
It's a beautiful national park with these amazing 4 lakes to explore from the top and from above. It's clean and safe and a nice change to city life. You'll get down quite a few steps to look at the lakes, take pictures. It's a bit slippery and humid in there. If you want you'll pay extra to get on a little boat to take u to the last cave- that's definitely worth it. And it's just 50pesos. Entrance fee for the national park is 200pesos, so not too expensive.
But there's lots of people who turn around at the entrance and don't get to see the beauty. Why? Well there's heaps of tour guides working with the ticket people. So they would just pretend and tell u you're not allowed to pay cash even though the guides pay cash. Then they would tell you, you can't get a ticket unless you book a guided tour. Or that you're just allowed a certain amount of tickets and you'll end up with more tickets when you need. All of this in Spanish and always pointing at a QR code to pay online. As we had no mobile data we didn't try this and went through the hassle of arguing with them for a while...

Very beautiful! A different nature. There are guides at the door for extra charges, but you don’t need a tour guide to visit the park. We did it by ourselves. It costs about $10.

Beautiful natural water holes in the city area. Although you cannot swim they are beautifully preserved and maintained in the natural state. Place is clean and good for families and tourists alike. It was about a 45 min visit and enough to see all major water exhibits.

Nice park to explore near the city. Gives you a cave experience with plenty of daylight and the waters in the ponds are beautiful and abundant with wildlife. Turtles, birds multiple types of butterflies .
It's just a beautiful place to spend a couple hours if you can afford the time

Interesting and amazing underground grutes (caves), the underground river has formed the inner lakes (also called cenotes). Really impressive place. Pretty humid and there are many steps to go in and come out. Get ready and bring comfortable shoes and clothes.

It's a quick thing to do while I'm Santo Domingo. Great Photo ops and it doesn't take long to go to all three as well as the 4th one. You have to take a small raft boat across to the other side for 50 pesos. It's very worth going to the other side to see the last lagoon.
The entrance fee to the whole park is $200 pesos per tourist or $100 pesos for Dominican residents

It's a beautiful sight to see underground. There are a lot of stairs, so be prepared. It is humid and hot, and it is best to bring a bottle of water. You will also need to pay a dollar to a man operating the boat to take you to the other side if you choose to go.

Beautiful, extremely humid, I Would suggest making sure that you're in pretty good shape to do this adventure it is a lot of work going up and down all those stairs. We paid $13 each person for the tour.

We had a guided tour of 3 of the 4 springs in the cave. The park, cave, and springs were beautiful, but our guide did rush us through. My husband and I enjoy the beautiful sites and history/educational tour of the cave.
There are people at the end that walk through who are trying to sell you items. So be ready for that as well.

Absolutely worth a trip. You do not necessarily need a guide. We went there by Uber and walked around on our own. Beautiful spots with colorful water, great to take pictures. We enjoyed it very much. Highly recommending a trip.

This was a place I found reading some one else's review of the area. Having visited many caverns all around the US this was a very special place to find. There are a lot of steps but it's well worth it. I had hiking sandles but I saw others in flip flops manage with no trouble. We booked a tour but I didn't realize it was for the wrong day but we already drove there so decided to take the walk without the tour. It would have been nice to hear some of the history of the cavern but it was easy enough to follow the paths to all 4 of the rivers. I was amazing to see the water in the light as all of the caverns I visited are not open air.

The Three Eyes National Park (Parque Nacional Los Tres Ojos) is a tranquil nature park that features a unique series of limestone caverns and subterranean lagoons. it is an open-air limestone cave that’s home to three beautiful lakes (hence the name “The Three Eyes”). The crystal-clear and somewhat turquoise lagoons of this open-air, otherworldly limestone cave system do resemble bright “eyes”.
A nearby underground river feeds water to the brilliantly colored ponds known as Los Tres Ojos, which are accessible on foot or by boat.
Just a 10-minute drive across the Ozama River from the Dominican capital, it’s a refreshing break for when you’ve had enough of the landmarks and sightseeing in the historic center of Zona Colonial.
Wear sturdy shoes with good tread; some areas of the cave can get slippery when wet. Temperatures inside the caves tend to be hot and humid so dress in light, loose-fitting clothes. Bring some insect repellant as mosquitos can be a problem.
Although the caverns are quite spacious upon arrival, the deeper you venture into the caves, the more compact they become. Additionally, if you have mobility issues, traversing the entrance's long staircase may be troublesome.
For those looking to take a break from the city's rich history, this is a good option.

The way they are set up to charge for entrance is a bit of a hassle but the attraction was absolutely amazing. Be prepared to climb stairs.

Signage on the history of the cave, as well as wayfinding, are provided in English in Spanish. The stairs of the cave are steep and occasionally slippery, so even highly mobile visitors must take care. No ramps or alternative routes are available for those who cannot navigate the 346 stairs.
Entry is RD$100 (US$0.45) per person with discounts for citizens and residents, and the ferry costs a few pesos more. Parking is free, and the parking lot is large. Whether driving yourself or taking a rideshare service, be sure that the GPS coordinates are for Paqueo Parque Los Tres Ojos, the parking lot, as putting in the name of the park will instead loop you around the park.
As for amenities, the on-site bathrooms were recently renovated and were the cleanest among all the Dominican tourist spots that I visited. Swimming in the lakes is prohibited.
If you love exploring the outdoors in a safe, regulated environment that still takes a moderate amount of athletic ability to navigate, this is a great stop.
