Brewery
The brewery is part of a wider complex of markets and cafes on the outer edge of Pambula. Beer on draught and available in cans. I had the Vienna Draught Lager, which was pretty good, with some slight caramel notes lying under the smooth, malty, lightly hopped body. The brewery itself is an interesting warren of nooks and crannies, and would be a great place to wile away a few lazy hours.

Have been here twice while visiting Pambula, recent visit in July 22. Enjoyed the tasting paddle while waiting on the wood fired pizza 🍕. There was a staff shortage so the pizza took longer than normal but were advised of this by the friendly staff who gave us free drinks while waiting. Was definitely worth the wait. Lovely food ,staff and atmosphere

This place used to be better! The service has dropped. The beer is good. The ginger beer is not good, lacking any real flavour. And $28 small pizzas with crusts that are too charred to eat. That's almost criminal on a Neapolitan pizza. Learn how to cook wood fired pizza please. Also some chilled water in a glass would be nice for the drivers who bring the drinkers.
My advice, get Aussie style pizza at Pizza Holics in Eden, grab takeawy beer from the BWS and sit down at the beach for the real experience. I know I'll be doing that next time.

What a great spot to taste some nice beers and enjoy some local oysters. Great friendly service and puppy friendly as well. We had a great time! Pizzas looked good as well ❤️

Great brewery just 5 ks out of merimbula, we went there on a Sunday and it was a gorgeous day sitting outside with live music, plenty of beverages on tap and also a tasting paddle, they did a wood fire pizza's and overall was a great day. The Ginger beer was a winner

Great brewery with a cool layout in a nice little precinct at Pambula. Knowledge and friendly staff. Pizza was ace, beers tasty, and got some takeaways including their Espresso Porter - what a drop 🤤🍺❗️

Friendly staff and decent beers.
The Vienna was really good but wasn't as keen on the hazy.
The setting is nice. Nice breeze where we sat. There's indoor and outdoor seating.
Easy to find and lots of parking.

Beer was great as normal but the pizzas have gone way down hill. The base was thick and dry and crusts were burnt. Tasted like frozen bases - not home made dough. First time we’ve left without finishing the pizzas and we all left our crusts. Not sure what’s happened with the food but for $28 a pizza the expectations were not met at all. Not just the base but the toppings were very poor for the price point. $26 for a Margherita pizza which literally has tomato sauce and cheese and three pieces of basil? Perhaps why there was only 2 other tables at lunch on a Saturday. As long time visitors we won’t be back for the food. Very disappointing.

What a find for a Sunday afternoon. The beers are top notch - we had the IPA, Hazy and IIPA - all fantastic beers. There was also some great live music.
Neil Otway — Google review
Disappointing visit here. Came from interstate for the weekend with friends so thought thought we’d try it out on Friday night. The big attraction was live music. The website made the place look fantastic, bookings essential it said ( with a fee of $10 a person if we wished to stay for music). The bar inside is done up nicely however outside very rough and ordinary and the tables were dirty. We rang the place that afternoon to see if we could get the mentioned limousine service. The girl on the phone was lovely and friendly however promised to call me back and let me know if it could be provided but never did. The wood fired pizza oven filled us with confidence however the pizzas were very disappointing. Staff were clearly a little stressed as they seemed to be short staffed resulting in long waits for drinks. The potential is there just not well executed. Got the feeling no one was actually in charge. Willing to give it another shot on a Sunday afternoon session as reviews indicate a better experience however we will eat before we come.

It was a very enjoyable dinner with the family.
Pizzas 🍕 were delicious 😋
My husband loved the oysters, a combination of natural and wakame.

Great little brewery with pretzels and pizza. The beers are very nice and it's a good idea to get the 10 sampler to taste most of whats on offer. The food was very good but could do with some more choices. Overall I really enjoyed my time there as.it has such a great atmosphere!!

We were lucky to be able to get in for a drink and snack as they were booked out on Boxing Day. The dark ale was good and we also enjoyed the ginger beer and cider. Great environment and staff who are doing their best during those busy days.

Look, I’ve been coming for a few years now and while I find it enjoyable, I do think it reflects the current state of food, drink and service that we accept in Australia, but it’s nothing better than average.
I think craft beers and breweries in Australia are world class. I’ve had 600 odd different beers all over the world in the last 40 years and places like Longstocking make very very good beers; not everything is great, but there’s always a few that have good flavours and styles, and worth coming back for. My favourites are the Irish Stout and Pale Ale.
Food on the other hand at Longstocking is incredibly over priced (22 bucks for garlic and Parmesan cheese over any pizza base is not worth it ever unless both are the best in the world ever!!!!!). But that’s Australia; we are ripped off big time. There’s lucky to be $10 of ingredients in a chess and garlic pizza. $26-28 for every other pizza? How the hell can you just that??
I’ve always found service at Longstocking to be hit or miss. I’ve never found it bad but sometimes it’s really busy and so they’re overworked, but then when it’s not busy it’s never bad but it’s just service. In Australia service is an inconvenience but in heaps of other countries it’s a career.
I would still. recommend Longstocking because it’s beers are good, and that’s very important!!!!!!!!!!

Genuinely disappointed.
Visited on a family trip to the area on a Friday night. Booked online for an indoor table. On arrival looked like a great spot for a feed. A good crowd, not packed but enough to suggest it was worth visiting. A nice little band was playing providing a great atmosphere.
We were shown to our table which was outside. Lucky the rain had just stopped.
Not the end of the world.
Walking through past the pizza oven was enough to get me exited. Smelled and looked fantastic. But then I spotted the pre made pizza bases. Warning flag number 1.
We ordered some of the local beers and find which were really good. Fantastic one might say. Bar staff were super friendly and knowledgeable too which was great.
I then ordered 2 1/2 dozen oysters and 3 pizzas. 1 doz kilpatrick, 1 doz gunpowder and 1/2 doz natural.
After 30 mins a waitress who looked disinterested in life placed down 2 plates of oysters which appeared to be mixed. No explanation, in fact not a word. Not even a simple “enjoy”.
We waited a few minutes for the kilpatrick to arrive to no avail.
Staff came out and took one of the plates away and said they would make kilpatrick out of them. Interesting….
To give credit where credit is due, the natural oysters were amazing. Plump, fresh and creamy. The gun powder were quite nice also.
10 mins later the kilpatrick came out which were delicious.
Then the pizzas arrived another 20 minutes later.
Margherita-ok.
Ham and salami -ok
Garlic prawn- nope. What appeared to be either tinned or frozen prawns, topped with piles of raw minced garlic.
For $28 per pizza would expect better. A lot better. At least a homemade base would have drastically increased enjoyment levels.
For a holiday town where there are so many options, I would try somewhere else.

Visited on a Thursday night for the trivia quiz with Destiny the quiz master. The pizza were yummy? The on-tap stout was nice and the staff and atmosphere were really good.
I'd recommend the quiz night for a fun night out

Lovely place to spend the afternoon. The outdoor area was really nice to sit in on the deck. Pizzas were pretty good. Base could be better, but the topping was lovely. Staff were all super lovely. Would like to see them know the beers a little better, being a brewery, however I note a few of the other reviews have mentioned them being short staffed, so they may have been new and just learning. All in all it was worth the visit!

Amazing pizzas washed down with the best local gin and beer. Great friendly staff in an amazing location. Could spend all day and night relaxing while the hours go bye. It was so good we kept coming back.
Cudos to Ben and the team. Very friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming.

Stopped in for some pizza and beers. Like everywhere locally, they are super busy. There were some staffing issues but the staff were up front about it and were super friendly despite it looking like they were having a crazy day. We had the Margherita pizza with prosciutto. Really good quality. Tried the cherry sour ale and the sapphire coast ale. Both delicious. I don’t mind waiting for good food and beer when the business is upfront about possible delays. Really customer focused team and you could tell the staff all worked well together to keep things flowing.
Merimbula Aquarium & Wharf Restaurant is a family-friendly spot with stunning ocean views, offering homestyle cakes, seafood, and choice wines. The restaurant provides a relaxed atmosphere for lunch, dinner, or simply enjoying coffee and cake while taking in the 180-degree ocean views of Merimbula Bay and breathtaking sunsets. Additionally, it features an aquarium to entertain kids. The venue is also popular for seaside weddings due to its spectacular location.
Enjoyed the aquarium. It was exquisite but had so much to watch. Fish feeding session with explanation was very educational. Fish and other sea creatures are well kept. Enjoyed the battered fish and chips with salads from the restaurant as the main course. Food was well prepared with reasonable price. Enjoyed the service with friendly staff and lived relaxing environment with amazing view to the sea.
Kay TAN — Google review
We payed $70 for this Aquarium. Extremely disappointed. It was very tired & run down. There was about 12 small tanks and a few fish. You could probably see the same amount at a pet store. One of the tanks was broken. To top it off they charged an extra 15% on public holidays. I don't know why as there is no staff down in the aquarium. It's also not pram or wheelchair friendly.
Grace Wardle — Google review
The servers rushed us through… to getting our orders to clearing our tables! We barely sat down and he wanted drink orders, and clearing our plates while some of us are still eating.
The scones were decent, but the lady server used her bare hands to pick up 2 scones that’s not covered, and popped them in the microwave. No food safety at all.
The Gin cured salmon was lacking a little flavour, just pure saltiness. The bacon scrambled on toast were good.
Pricing was not too expensive. View was beautiful

This aquarium and restaurant sits at the best location with nice water view. The food was delicious and presented really well! We also visited the small aquarium underneath the restaurant, it’s got 26 tanks in total and all come in different sizes. There were some very interesting fish and the guy who was cleaning the tank was so passionate about fish, he came and told us a lot about the different kind of fish in the aquarium. It was a really pleasant experience!
Angela Wong — Google review
We had a better time at this aquarium than we did at sea life in Melbourne. We were the only ones there so had our own tour. Alan and Will were super knowledgeable, friendly and great at making sure the kids were able to see everything. It was also great getting to see all the fish be fed. It was definitely well worth our money. We didn’t get to eat at the restaurant but coffee was good too.
Kailah Smith — Google review
Great location, excellent service and fantastic food on offer. I’ve been to the aquarium wharf restaurant a number of times and it has always been a great experience.
The aquarium itself is well worth seeing. A fantastic display of local and tropical species. Well sized and appointed tanks with a wide variety of specimens.

Firstly, apologies for the long rant but this one made one heck of a bad impression.
Besides the great views there were really no other positives about Aquarium. Upon arrival we waited at least 5min before anyone acknowledged our arrival. Eventually one of the waiters who had rushed past a few times noticed we had not been seated yet asked if we’re were being looked after and said he would be back in a minute to help. Shortly after the manager came and said that she would be back to seat us in a minute as well. In the meantime a large group came in behind us and the manager returned, walked straight past and took them to their table. While doing so the waiter then returned and when we mentioned the manager said she would seat us he appeared as if he wanted to help but looked worried to step on her toes and said it best we wait.
Eventually we were seated and two girls were alternately waiting our table. One was friendly & helpful and the other seemed untrained and didn’t really know what to do.
The first course came out and was ok at best. Mine was 2 prawns with a bit of sauce and my partners zucchini flowers were quite heavy on the batter.
The mains however were terrible. They had clearly been left under the heat lamps for way too long. On my dish the snapper was over cooked and the scampi was halved. On the half originally on top the meat had shrivelled so badly that it had gone hard and was inedible. This had obviously been swapped around and placed facedown just prior to serving so it was not obvious until I was halfway through the dish. My partner had ordered a medium rare fillet steak that was served just short of well done and was clearly cut by someone inexperienced.
After the first two courses we decided not to roll the dice with dessert and opted to get something in town instead.
At $140 for some of the worst meals we have ever had and a bottle of water this will be our first and last visit.
In summary, the restaurant seemed to be a rudderless ship as there were many young inexperienced staff and the manager was to busy looking after tables to actually guide the team.
Aquarium would be a nice place to sit and enjoy a drink or two but I strongly advise to eat elsewhere.

Amazing experience. I visited the Aquarium today and it was incredible. I was lucky enough to be the only visitor at the time and had two of their amazing staff show me around and tell me all about the animals, even the funny stories that only the workers would know. They are a catch a release aquarium with plenty to see. The animals and enclosures are very well kept and the fish feeding is a must. Can't wait to visit again.

What a gr8 place to meet up for a coffee or some lunch. Gr8 atmosphere and friendly staff. Highly recommended having a look at the Aquarium, especially at feeding time.

After visiting the aquarium, we decided to stay for lunch. We had a lovely table on the balcony, watching people fishing and we spotted dolphins swimming by - amazing view!
The staff were great and our drink order and entrees arrived quickly (beautiful oysters and garlic bread). Our mains came out a little too close to the entrees however they seafood linguine was beautiful. The seafood was fresh and tasty (not rubbery) and I ate all the seafood before I even touched the pasta as it was so good.
I'd definitely eat here as a first preference if we ever visit Merimbula again.

We found this beautiful restaurant by chance and had the most magical night imaginable. We had just recently gotten engaged and mentioned this in conversation and were congratulated and celebrated by all of the beautiful staff. They were beyond accomodating- including for our furry family member. We had the most amazing night celebrating our engagement watching the sunset and could not recommend the delicious food, the beautiful restaurant and aquarium and the absolutely incredible staff more. We felt like we’d wandered into a family. Highly highly recommend!

We stopped for coffee and cake which were both delicious. Restaurant is lovely with great views looking over the water and staff were efficient and friendly.
At $25 per adult and $17 per child be advised that the Aquarium is small, dated, signage needs replacing and very overpriced, $10 would be sufficient.
Peta Schiller — Google review
Beautiful restaurant with great views of the ocean and the wharf. We ordered the sea food platter for two and it was delicious! We went with a group of 7 and all of us, including the kids were impressed with the mains and desserts.
Highly recommend the butterscotch Panna cotta for dessert.
Our group was sat by the big glass windows and we were close enough to see a group of dolphins swim past… it was amazing.

This establishment is located on a stunning beachside with unobstructed views of the coastline.
The dining experience was delightful; the food was highly enjoyable, and the staff provided excellent service. The manager's personal touch, greeting us at the end of our meal, added to the charm of our visit.
The high-quality cuisine and beautifully presented dishes made this experience truly special.
To cap off our meal, we explored the small but impressive aquarium located beneath the restaurant, which offered a surprising variety of marine life.
The combination of the restaurant and aquarium made for a lovely and recommendable treat.

Nature sanctuary with a relaxed, hippie atmosphere showcasing native Australian animals.
Not very crowded. Kangaroos and emus were lovely - we really enjoyed hand feeding them!! Dingoes were also cute!! The lady at the reception was very nice and so friendly!

Whilst it's an amazing opportunity to see wildlife in one place. 120 for 2 adults 2 kids. Train ride and feed was included in price. The price was pretty steep for not seeing many animals, the dingos pens were unkempt, no idea if they had dingos let alone any other animals. The bats were shivering couldn't see if there was a warm hide hole. We did have a mascot bird that followed us back. Whilst we payed a motsa and hardly saw anything we did enjoy it and the people are quite nice. The bloke that was doing the feeds was really nice and helpful. I'm glad I got to see it but not impressed by the price. Photos below are the animals we saw.

A worthy local business - as well as being a centre for re-homing animals and a place to volunteer. We, as a family of 4 decided to head on in whilst staying in Merimbula on holiday. At the time we had a 12 month old and a nine year old, and both of them had great fun exploring and getting to interact with some of the animals. On our visit it was just our family walking around which we loved. You can feed and pat kangaroos, emus, ducks and geese... Enough to keep young ones (perhaps aged 10 and under) occupied for a good hour or two, maybe even longer. With that said, we found BBQ facilities within the sanctuary but did not enquire, as well as a few outdoor games like ring-toss and giant checkers to stay occupied. Not all enclosures feature animals every day of the year, you need to factor in maintenance, sick animals and other reasons so hence some enclosures are empty. There quite a few birds, some that talk, some that will land on you and some that may bite so beware either way. There's a small gift shop and cafe, however the cafe wasn't open on our visit - no trouble to us. It seemed small to us at first but you realise it's a bit bigger than you think once you start wandering around. This is definately not a "Taronga Zoo", it's a smaller scale animal sanctuary that will give you, and or, the kids something to do for a little while. On our visit, we were able to chat with a gentleman about the dingoes that he had recently donated to the sanctuary - lovely guy and very informative, so you never know what you might get. Overall, our family had a nice time. Wheelchair and pram friendly to a degree. Due to the natural environment there's quite a few bumps and rocks etc. to navigate but it can be done. We came, we saw, we enjoyed.

Really enjoyed our time there, you can see they really care about the animals they have their and the highlights for us was the Echidna's, Koala's and of course Chuffy was absolutely gorgeous, the way she wanted pats and company.
Highly recommend a visit here if in the area.

This is a must visit place for animal lovers travelling down the south coast! 🥰 The staff were so friendly and they're doing such wonderful work with their lovable residents. All the animals have their stories outside their enclosures, which were so lovely to read! Particular shout out to the kind keeper, who despite being very busy, introduced us to a very special little Melly! You made our day, thank you!! 🥰❤

Really lovely sanctuary where you can interact with the well known animals if the area. They have some talkative birds too. The cafe food was simple and delicious and the staff lovely. The sanctuary supports animals that cannot be rehabilitated so great to know our visit supported a critically needed cause.

Amazing staff! It has a baby change room and disabled room. Bring an all-terrain pram or wheelchair though as there are lots of bumps and hills. 2 disabled parking spaces. A variety of animal encounters as well- snakes, dingos, emus, kookaburra, koala, echidna, and more. I won't forget about Max the Laughing Cockatoo and Chuffy the Chough anytime soon. The geese were also funny (very interested in the pram wheels).
Family attraction with theme-park rides, go-karts, a tube slide, tree-climbing & a souvenir shop.
A must visit place, If you are staying in Merimbula. Can easily spend close to 6-7 hrs with kids. A compact theme park with unlimited access to rides.
Lakshminarayanan Venougobalan — Google review
Fairly small amusement park, good for kids and adults. Quite pricey and everyone needs a ticket to enter the park and the tree climbing is extra. Queue lengths were quite long for a number of the rides.
Paul Reichl — Google review
Complete Rip off and way too expensive for what it is. Only one adult was going on the rides with our 6 year old but we still had to pay full price ($59) for another adult to sit and watch the whole time. Can understand they are a business but perhaps there can be a “spectators” fee to those not going on any of the rides. Most rides weren’t open which we weren’t made aware of at the time of entering. Could only go on three of the attractions. The staff told us that they rotate through the attractions hence why most were closed, again this should be made aware to guests as some don’t plan on spending a whole day there.

Great place. Had a fantastic time.
My five year old loved it.
Only ride he couldn't do was the roller coaster. Was an inch too short.
We spent all day there.
Staff where friendly. Drink, food and ice cream available.
Heaps of tables around to put your stuff on.
Large grassed areas.

Kids and adults alike had a great day. The Grand Prix and tobaggan ride were probs the favourite. The wind was too cold to really appreciate the water slides.
All the staff were friendly and informative regarding the rules etc for the rides.
There were 2 slightly negatives, the cafe was a little light on for variety for lunch options, the burger was luke warm as were the chips and nuggets. The coffee and service was great though.
The other was a safety issue on the jumping castle entry/exit, more than one child either slipped over, or stumbled on the tarp. The "edge" is quite steep and possibly by moving the black mat would help alleviate some of the issue.

Went to Magic Mountain on Australia Day 2022. Such a great place for kids and adults alike. Will definitely be coming back. Great little park packed with enough rides for little ones, big kids and big kids at heart. Plenty of shade. Not too far to walk. Friendly staff, clean amenities. So happy to finally come and check the place out. Would definitely recommend 👌
Ailsa Martin — Google review
We visited in mid winter so the water slides were not operating and the rope course was unavailable due to maintenance. However we still had a great time and the toboggan run and roller coaster were the favourites. The park will probably appeal more to the younger children as the rides are a bit tame for teenagers. The basic food options were pretty pricey but normal for a theme park. Worth a visit if you are in the area.
Peter Blake — Google review
If you have kids and want a fun day out, then this is a good place to go. Just be aware that it will cost around $50 per adult to enter and kids around $30. There is an over 60's entrance fee around $30 which helps grand parents reduce the cost of their visit. The good news is all the rides are free once in the park. There are lots of rides, but be prepared to queue for the popular ones. There is a small take away area where you can buy something to eat, but it is expensive so consider taking a picnic basket instead. Staff were friendly and the facilities were clean. We visited the park outside the Victorian school holidays so it was not over crowded. We had a very pleasant day there.

Very fun. Lines were very long though but for some attractions it was worth the wait. Every time I have come here though the roller coaster has been out of service.

Had a fairly fun day, the entrance fee and food on-site is quite expensive. If you plan on going on the waterslides make sure you have spare clothes because most rides won't let you on when you are wet. Over all it was quite fun. And the staff were all lovely

Delicious cheese and coffee, nice historic place.
I came early on a holiday weekend and after 30 minutes the place was full of people.
I went to the top level to read and see how this company was first established and the tools that were used and how they were developed. I liked it.
Then I tried a plate of mixed cheese which I highly recommend it ( the heritage premium cheese was amazing!).
The coffee and ice cream were very good. I would suggest trying the fudge but keep in mind it is very sweety.
Loved this place.

Normally an interesting place to stop at and have a look as well as trying out some cheese which is available to purchase, having stopped in a couple of tiimes on the way through over the years. Was going to stop on the way through in January but to find on a sign saying temporary closed. Hopefully next time I might be lucky.

We had a wonderful stop over. Their cakes were freshly baked and delicious - not too sweet for our palates. Their coffee is one of the best we had around Bega Valley Shire. We were impressed! We really did enjoy our food and coffee while sitting outside looking into their vast green scenery. The only reason we gave them a 4 stars rating is, the cheese factory tour still isn’t running. However, entry to their little museum upstairs is free. The gift shop upstairs is a must to browse for gift ideas. They have a variety of unique items and colourful puns which will surely will make you smile and giggle. We definitely recommend this place 10/10 for a quick stop over, a bite and to unwind.

It is a good stop point wherever you go. It is not a massive museum or well organised display centre. So do not set your expectations high as it is a free entry.
Just one disappointment was that the selection of products sold at the cafe wasn't much different from any supermarket and they aren't any cheaper. One of the cheeses I really liked but not sold in any supermarket was Heritage Vintage Reserve Cheddar. I would definitely visit this Heritage centre to buy this cheese.
Hewitt Kwon — Google review
We were able to have a small taste of different cheeses. We enjoyed the serve of scones with jam and cream. I was pleased to see the painted cow that I remembered from a holiday there years ago. It was clean and comfortable.
Raelene O'Flaherty — Google review
Not as great for the family as you might hope:
- The cheese tasting is exactly what you would find in the local supermarket including super slices of all things. I guess I expected something more gourmet, however this is the exact full range that Bega makes.
- You aren't able to view the factory or any sort of cheese making at all. So it's practical educational value is limited. There's even a sign that says "No factory tours"
- Upstairs is the heritage component which is a collection of antique memorabilia relating to farming and cheese making which is not interactive or presented in a very interesting way. In fact it says do not touch.
- The one interactive exhibit, a cow that presumably moos or something when a button was pressed was broken
- The toilets are decent and had change tables
- The food was fairly good. My order was mixed up and after checking on it they did rectify.
- The coffee was mediocre

Finally ticked this one off my list. Called in today and loved it. If you like Bega cheese, you'll love seeing and reading the history behind its early days.
Staff are lovely and there's a great gift shop upstairs. Make sure to check it out.

Excellent history regarding the milk and cheese industry. Fantastic gift shop upstairs. Ground level is the information centre with lots of brochures. The Cafe offers a variety if foods, served quickly, along with cheese tasting. The quiche with salad was delicious. The Egg and bacon roll, double bacon, double egg, amazing. Spent almost 2 hours. Free entry to museum.

The Bega Cheese Factory in New South Wales stands as a remarkable testament to Australian history and culinary heritage. Spanning an impressive 124 years, this iconic establishment not only showcases the time-honored tradition of cheese-making but also invites visitors into a journey through Australia's rich dairy industry. Its longevity and sustained quality make it a must-visit destination for both cheese aficionados and history enthusiasts alike.

I love cheese from Bega, so tasty 😋, my first taste from Bega is the milk 🥛 that comes to Canberra in the 1960s, at school.
My family is going there when we are in Bega, the Bega Cheese 🧀 Heritage Centre. This is not the first time we were there before ten years ago.
The Bega Cheese Factory 🏭 is over 124 years old.
We come before closing hours, so we get some gifts 🎁 cheeses 🧀.
They have amazing cakes and cupcakes 🧁, coffee ☕️ 😋 or tea 🍵 😋, with 🧀 cheese snacks and cold drinks. 🥶
Come and see 👀 the gifts 🎁 that are so amazing 👏, for you, family's and friends.
Upstairs, there is a museum, a history of Bega Cheese Heritage Centre, and Bega.
The Bega name is derived from the local Aboriginal word meaning "big campaign ground." Another claim is that the word "bika " in local Aboriginal language, one of the Yuin language meaning "beautiful. "
The first European to come near was George Bass (30 January 1771-5 February 1803 last seen before living the Port Jackson, age 32),in December 1797 as part of his broader explanation 😳 of the Australian coast 😳.
William Tarlinton was the first European arriving on foot and exploring this area in 1829.
He returned in the early 1830s and settled there and started a cattle farm.
Around the same time, the Imlay brothers came, who also began farming their names, has been preserved in the form of Mount Imlay National Park.
The town of Bega itself was laid out and gazetted in December 1851. The region received a further boost 😳 in the late 1870s when gold was discovered in the Bermagui area 😀.
In 1882, the Municipality of Bega was created. Before the 20th century, come the Bega Dairy Cooperative Limited was set up in 1899.

Great quick stop with nice museum, awesome oldfashioned milk shakes (choc.malt!), limited cheese tasting and sales. Not for bargains perhaps, but definitely for cheese lovers. Toilet facilities, parkland adjoining too and ample parking.
Oceanfront park providing beaches & scenic vistas, plus hiking, camping, fishing & birdwatching.
Awesome national park. Saw dozens of whales breaching the water, swamp wallaby, the endangered hooded plovers, kangaroos, an echidna, a seal surfing the waves, sea eagles and all in one day!
Magical place.
Giulia — Google review
Nice place, your average beachside national park, includes a lot of accomodation nearby.
Short drive from Bega. Definitely recommend SUV or 4WD. Very short walk from the parking. Beautiful place to spend a day with family. Ample parking place, public toilets, sitting area, and BBq hot plates.
As the place is of great cultural significance, the Aboriginal owners request no to swim in the falls. "As per sign posted"
Omair Jadoon — Google review
A great way to take advantage of the natural splendour of Biamanga National Park is by stopping at Biamanga Cultural area during your road trip.
You'll find a convenient boardwalk – perfect for walking with children – that leads to a scenic lookout where you can see water cascading through a dramatic gorge and granite boulder field. This is part of the legacy of an ancient shield volcano in the area, and the story of its Aboriginal heritage is conveyed through interpretive signs and an information shelter here.
Don't forget your camera – the forest setting is beautiful, with eastern water dragons sunning themselves on rocks and chefs cap correa bursting with lemon and green colours. Birdwatching is superb as well – with azure kingfishers and blue wrens frequenting the area, it’s almost as though they're putting on a show for visitors.
After your stroll, unpack a lunch at one of the picnic tables or fire up the free gas barbecues for a relaxing afternoon with family and friends beneath the eucalypts. This is a great picnic spot, shady and serene, surrounded by the calming sounds of the rushing creek.
The Aboriginal custodians request that visitors, through respect, do not swim in the Mumbulla Falls area - a site that is sacred to the Yuin People.

Easy to get to. We walked around (didn't swim as asked by the local aborigines) and had a good look.very pretty area.

A short walk to a beautiful gorge and waterhole on the south coast, with Aboriginal significance. Due to changed road access, it is quite a long drive on unsealed roads to get here, but worth the drive for a very beautiful and well sign-posted waterhole and falls. Picnic and BBQ facilities available.
Note - there is signage that states the local Yuin people request people don't swim here. On our visit this was largely ignored, with many people in the water and jumping off the rocks.

Our family had an absolute blast at this site and we visited it three times during our week-long holiday. Easy to navigate, spectacular views and terrific amenities. We saw all sorts of sea life, enjoyed watching the seals play along the rocky coast and were inspired to go and purchase some snorkels to get into the spirit of the location. There’s a lot of stairs and the water could get particularly cold but that didn’t hinder our enjoyment too much. We spent a few hours here each visit and can’t wait to go back soon.
Gregg Savage — Google review
Nice drive. Good shower and toilet facilities. Very clean. However, the water is quite stagnant, so there's plenty of plants growing on the rocky floors of the pool. You may spot seals in the nearby rocks. No beach to swim.
Skandakumar Kumarasingam — Google review
There is a car park at the top of the cliff along with toilets and changing area. It is not suitable for caravans or large buses which should be parked at the top of the hill near the road. Then lots of stairs with good handrails take you to the bottom of the cliff. You need to be steady on your feet as the area is natural rock and uneven. There are stairs and a handrail to get in and out of the pool. It’s shallow at one end and about 9’ deep at the other end. Some people had goggles on and were able to view fish swimming in the pool. The water was sparkling clean and clear while I was there. Water temp was about 20° so not warm but comfortable. Don’t miss it if your in the area and enjoy swimming.
Geri Haydon — Google review
Wonderful place, stop by if you can! I recommend coming here during low tide because the water ist just a bit less cold. (Winter)
Johann Kreßin — Google review
Worth a visit and a swim if you’re in town. Also lots of seals to see 🦭
Note: It was safe to swim when I was there, but some sets came in over the rocks, so worth being aware 🌊
Jacinta — Google review
It's a beaut little spot. Parking and toilets at the top of the hill. Short walk down the steps to the pool. A popular place and when I visited and it wasn't particularly hot! Some seats to sit on but I suspect when it's hot these would be fiercely contended for as there are not many. The bottom of the pool is rocky so that might be a problem for some. There is a smaller pool for kids. You should go just for a look!
Bryan McGlade — Google review
Awesome place, especially at sunset! We loved it !! We didn't swim because it was winter but it seems the perfect place to enjoy a hot day. With an "artificial" pool and the other more connected to the sea. We could also see numerous seals swimming in the area !!!
Anita Bocchetto — Google review
I didn't go in the pool itself, so I'm just giving an opinion on the place: the car park is tiny, get ready to walk uphill. The stairs to go to the pool are even and have 2 rails to hold on to.
Toilet and shower at the car park, benches and tables at the car park and near the pool.
The place is full of cement, which takes a lot away from the idea of a "natural" rock pool. The shallow pool is very slippery.
Luckily, on the day we went, we saw seals and dolphins. It made our day.
In the big pool and in the rocks, you can see fish and sea life.

Wonderful experience, it's a must try. It's an amazing rock pool, on the edge of the cliff next to Ocean. The experience of the pool next to an ocean was really good. I have never been to a place like this before, so i was extremely happy. Once you reach the parking, there are stairs to go down to the pool. The pool is pretty big, and the depth is quite good. There are so many small crabs, snails, and mussels nearby of the pool rocks. There's a nice washroom 🚻 facility available with a shower hose.
Praloyjit Das — Google review

Beautiful place, nice rock pools.
This was our second visit and wanted swimming in the rock pool but it was freezing 🥶.
We watched a group of seals swimming on the right side view from the hill.
It was a very lucky day that we watched more than 10 different groups of whales.
Amazing place.

A must-go destination when visiting the Far South Coast! There’s plenty of parking (more in the grass before the main carpark, so parking is not something to stress about). There are showers and bathrooms there as well. I suggest coming to this place early as it does get quite busy and there aren’t many places to sit.
Nicky T — Google review
Beautiful spot. The water was far too cold. Will have to come back in summer. Saw seal and whales there too
Verena Van Bonn — Google review
To go swimming here it’s free. Lots of steps to walk down to get to the pool. There is a toddler pool with concrete floor next to rock pool. Can touch the ground in most places in the pool. Just have to be careful not to cut feet when climbing on the edge to look over wall to see ocean. Can snorkel in pool and see little fish. Has seats to put towels on or just sit and watch. Sometimes you can see seals on the rocks in a distance.
I would highly recommend you go for a swim.

Spectacular Camel Rock is an ancient rock formation, comprised of folded 470 million year old turbidite beds that were created by underwater avalanches 450 million years ago.
Take the 1.5 kilometre walking track at the back of the viewing platform to Murunna Point, with elevated lookouts and panoramic ocean views.
Murunna Point is a significant Aboriginal place, with views to Gulaga (Mt Dromedary) and Wallaga Lake as it opens to the sea.
Camel Rock Surf Beach is well known for its great surfing, swimming, snorkelling, rock pools to explore and fishing. The beach is patrolled during the summer months and is well sheltered if there is a north easterly wind.
Parking is available at Camel Rock Beach car park, found along the unmarked road off Wallaga Lake Rd.

Yet another beautiful area of the southern coastline of NSW. The Camel is not very obvious to me but that’s coz my imagination isn’t great. I was told that it’s definitely a camel with a short neck. It doesn’t matter if it is because the place is worth visiting. The water was a little cold so I didn’t see too many people in the water but I’m guessing during summer this place is packed. It’s unpolluted and the sand is lovely. I really hope people can treasure places like this and not throw garbage and disrupt the sea life and wildlife. A beautiful place to visit
Pretty place. Second visit. Nice old buildings. Beautiful countryside and mountain scenery. Great little stores to browse. Tearooms, bakery, gifts, clothes, cheese, lollies, icecream, B & B,etc. Parking at each end of town. Playground in the middle near the hall for kids.

The island across from Narooma is small and does have limited accommodation upon it. We visited as part of a tour but did not utilise the accommodation. The volunteer guide - "Debbie" was very informative and helpful and helped us around the island. Birds galore nesting upon the island were extremely noisy and made it hard to hear each other at times. In saying that it was lovely to see such an ecological system in play. Great history involved in the island. Glad to have visited.

Definitely looks like Australia, except Tasmania is missing. When we visited there were quite a few others too, which made for some good photos. Sometimes it's nice to capture random people in your photos to make them interesting. The rock wall is good for a walk along too. We saw seals for the first time too sunning themselves on the rocks. They are so cute. On the other side of Australia Rock is a peaceful lagoon which looked great for a calm swim. All in all, a great place to visit.

This is an amazing free place to take your family. The walk down is well maintained with incredible views of the bays. Australia Rock is kind of a gimmick and is difficult to get to but that’s OK. The highlights really are the seals. They’re tremendously adorable and you can basically sit for as long as you like and watch them bathe, sun bake and swim. It’s a rocky pier to walk along but the rock formations and views are well worth it. We went there on a somewhat sunny day so not sure what it’s like when the weather is average. Definitely check it out.

One of Australia's natural icons.
If you want to take pictures with as few people as possible, then between 8:30am to 10:00am. For the sunrise pictures, have to likely come 30 minutes to 1 hour before sunrise to get the prime spot.

Australia Rock offers a truly breathtaking view that encapsulates the natural beauty of the Sapphire Coast. Perched majestically by the sea, this rock formation presents a stunning vista that leaves visitors in awe. The waves crashing against its rugged edges and the expanse of the ocean stretching beyond create a scene of unparalleled beauty. 100% recommend these guys 😊

What an incredible, friendly and one-of-a-kind atmosphere the guys at Skydive Oz create! We felt instantly welcomed and really looked after by our tandem jumpers Gibbo, Ritchie and the rest of the crew. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these guys if you're thinking of coming for a jump!

Absolutely Fantastic.
Completed my AFF at Skydive Oz and was extremely impressed with the whole thing. From the booking process and pre course material right up to the fun jumps included with the package, all were amazing.
Great facilities, excellent instruction, awesome staff...could not fault the place. If you're considering doing any form of skydiving, here is the place.
Thanks so much, see you again soon!

I am terrified of heights so this tandem dive was a gift aimed at ‘helping’ me overcome that fear. It was obvious to all that I was extremely nervous and scared, but the team did a fantastic job in ensuring I had all the information I needed to make me feel safe and comfortable. Hats off and thank you to Will for making this a much better than expected experience. The views were amazing and I’m glad I went through with it!

I've done my AFF course here, and it was the best decision ever. Amazing team and location. Very high quality drop zone: safety first, great gear, promises are clean, orderly, and comfy.
Thank you to the amazing instructors I personally had the privilege to learn from: Richie, Marley, Henry, Bindi, Jules, Gibbo - you're all rock stars.
I'm definitely coming back ❤

The crew here are some of Australia’s most experienced and talented people in the game…. but unless you know them well or ask the right questions, you may not realise it!
The quality of their humble instructors’ one on one post jump video assisted debrief sessions is second to none.
Whilst your parachuting experiences above this stunning coastal landscape are breathtaking, equally memorable are the crew on and off the ground that warmly invite you into their wider family. Smiles all around before during and after the skydiving and training experiences.
Thanks for your hospitality team!

Amazing experience! Everyone was so welcoming and happy, everything felt safe and comfortable. This was the first time that my girlfriend and I skydived, and we absolutely can’t wait to come back here, thanks for such a great time :)

My son did a tandem skydive for his 16th Birthday and loved every second of it. The team was friendly and very professional, I highly recommend this activity as a present for the young thrill seeker.

I completed my AFF here after reading reviews online that said it was the safest and most beautiful drop zone in Australia. 100% lived up to that expectation and as a result after completing my course I am still travelling 4 hours a trip just to jump at this amazing drop zone.
Amazing staff, instructors and skydiving community! If you are looking for a place to start skydiving or want to progress or have a laugh with your mates, this is the spot!
Thank you Skydive OZ!!

This is my second jump and these guys are pros! From hanging out in the hanger to suiting me up and taking me through some instructions; these guys made me feel relaxed but pumped. My tandem buddy Richie was awesome (even making the awesome suggestion of getting the pilot to tip us out of the plane on our exit)… what an awesome feeling! Quick turn around with my video and pictures to capture every facial that tells the story. I’ll see you guys for a night dive soon (hopefully)!

First jump yesterday with my old man. Super impressed with all aspects of the process. Skydive OZ Moruya is a first class operation. Could not fault anything. Gibbo you are a legend!

What an amazing tandem experience.
The gentle ascending flight encapsulates the spectacular scenery, looking down from above it was mesmerising.
Preparing to launch as I roll into the void, like I am floating above a big fan. The sensation provokes much animation from within, this crazy man is on fire, in a good way.lol
Then the lift from the ejecting parachute feels like it is taking me back up, until I adjust and am floating slowly back to earth. A few guided hand controls which freaks me out a little and then a smooth landing.
All thanks to my man on the day, Heath. I felt totally safe to experience the wonder
Excellent facility and great atmosphere

Our three teenagers did their jump as a Christmas present this year and absolutely loved it. The instructors were really friendly and confident and made the kids feel really comfortable. Thoroughly recommend it has a very very cool family memory maker!
Numerous species of exotic & endangered animals can be encountered (some fed) at this expansive zoo.
I love this little zoo! The animals all look nice and healthy and the feeding is so affordable. For only $3 you can get a bag/cone of feed that you can give to the deer, camels, zebra (though they didn’t come over) and/or ostriches! For an extra $20 you can feed the giraffe some wattle leaves which was really fun. Included in the entry price was a little map/passport for each of the kids where they could collect stamps as we found each enclosure. 10/10 would recommend.

Absolutely loved this and couldn't recommend more! Such a great variety of animals and every one we visited was out and visible, including the lions and lion cub! You can feed a lot of different animals too and it was only $20 to feed the giraffe which is a must do! Plenty of space and not too busy, we even went on a Saturday too. Staff were really friendly and knowledgeable, it's pram and wheelchair friendly too mostly. I can't recommend this place enough! One of the best wildlife parks I've been to.

Exceptionally good. Well priced! Well-layed-out. This zoo is brilliant. A really interesting variety of animals. Probably less on the Aussie animal side but that's fine, all the monkeys make up for it.
This is a great day for the family and the town of Mogo is excellent too so you can have a nice brunch before or afterwards. Highly recommended.
Chris Sharkey — Google review
Fascinating zoo, with a great range of interesting, photogenic and captivating animals. Small enough that it only takes about 2.5 - 3.0 hours to see everything, but large enough to have a satisfying range of exhibits. We particularly loved the meerkats and the marmosets.
Roger Stonehouse — Google review
We liked it here. It’s an orderly, well kept and interesting small zoo. The animals are well displayed. They all look very healthy. We enjoyed a good hour and a half wandering around here. A special plug too for the landscaping and gardening. Some of it is lovely. Our only criticism would be of the cafe - there are no healthy food options and it’s all cakes, chips, pies, white bread and lollies. But, the wildlife park itself is wonderful, so just bring your own healthy food if that’s your thing.

Had an amazing time visiting. We did go on a slightly rainy day, but what that meant was we were able to get up close for the keeper talks. We were lucky enough to see the lion talk and gorilla talk, and the knowledge, passion, and love the keepers have for the animals is unmistakable. They were so happy to answer questions and talk about the conservation programs the zoo is part of.
The animals at Mogo Wildlife Park look well looked after and relaxed.
Another highlight for adults and kids alike is being able to feed the deer, kangaroo and camels.

Loved it was shocked, very well laid out easy walking paths and loaded with amazing animals. The kids get a passport
To stamp which adds to the fun. Lions , red pandas , deer , camels, giraffes 🦒 just so much to see. Ample seating areas and gift shop to support the zoo.

Really great, but pick your time off day wisely depending on what U want to see. Many animals just sleep at the back when it's hot, and it's good if you can see a feeding. If you have NRMA buy through them for a discount and free vouchers.

We attended the community day, to celebrate reopening after the 2020 bushfires- a yearly event. Despite the soaking wet weather, we had a wonderful time. The animals are so well loved and cared for, the grounds are immaculate (some paths were very soggy due to the rain and gumboots were the fashion of the day lol, the food in the cafe was lovely and we couldn't fault a thing. The staff were friendly and answered any questions about the animals, the facilities were clean and accessible. We are grateful for the community day and will return when we have friends visit - it's well worth showing it off! Thanks Chad and all the team!

A nice little zoo which has a variety of animals to view or for a bit extra you can feed them. Easy to walk around and a full gift shop.

A truly excellent zoo! Coming from Sydney where Taronga is considered one of the best in the world, Mogo is a truly wonderful experience! It's super easy to navigate, especially with smaller children and prams, with very few inclines and hills, the exhibits are plentiful, there are great interactive segments and the animals are all fascinating!
Simon Torok — Google review
Fantastic relaxing, beautiful zoo to wander around. Up close and personal with the animals and well-informed staff explaining everything you need to know about the animals. The best time to go is the starting time of feeding in the morning. There are plenty of resting areas to enjoy the beauty of these animals.

An incredible experience for the whole family.
It was perfect for our 2 and 4 year old. Not small, but not too big. Yet, some incredible animals.
Staff were fantastic and accommodating. We would come back in a second.
Brad Rathbone — Google review
Not a huge zoo fan goer but told it is it a good place to visit and yep it was. In a perfect world if anything is held in captivity such as animals they need room and the freedom to move and roam without restriction, Hence I felt a bit sad for the tigers and other big cats in their enclosures. My first time seeing a gorilla up close, very impressive might I add but also wished they had more open space.. Overall it was a pleasant experience my family enjoyed Mogo we could see the animals are all very well loved and cared for by the staff at Mogo and positively sure everyone doing their utmost to make it the best environment possible for them all.

This park clearly cares about enriching animals daily lives and playing a part in conserving endangered species. Saw lots of healthy enrichment, enclosures are nicely designed, the keepers are experienced, the animals look happy and active. Highly recommend! Pro tip: careful when feeding the ostrich, it’s scary 🤣

Previous experience was better...Zoo looks little bit neglected... make a picture in sunny day, through the glass...not easy( gorilla), could I suggest make some little roof ?
Price in Cafe pretty overpriced..
But Zookeepers as usual brilliant and kind hearts.
Recommended for visiting, at least ones for everyone!
Kids friendly.
A wonderfully rustic and authentic experience. Not too commerical, exceptional staff who bring the place to life and plenty to see and do. We spent hours here looking at all the exhibits, paning for gold and just getting lost in time. This is perfect for a family outing and for children of all ages. Entry costs $25 for adults and $15 for children. Kids under 5 are free. On sight camping and cabins are available if you want to stay the night and enjoy all the nearby town of Mogo has to offer. A highly recommended experience into Australia's gold mining past.
Adam D — Google review
Very friendly and helpful lady at the shop. Entry is $65 for family but it is worth it. This fee includes a tour and a lesson on how to use the pan to find gold. My whole family enjoyed the day. We found some gold to cheers us up but not enough to get rich. No restaurants on site. However just a couple of 100 metres on the main road there are some nice restaurants.

Amazing. Must go place if u visit Batemans Bay. Free tour and panning lessons with entrance fee. Tour is very interesting and informative. Brought us back to the gold rush days. Lots of small pieces of gold if u r patient and listen carefully.

We enjoyed it here. It’s still recovering from major bushfires in 2019 but it’s still well worth a visit, especially to get your daily steps up on the well marked paths. There are some nice trees, shrubs and other plants and some lovely wetlands. Altogether it’s a very peaceful spot. The cafe here - Mossy on Gardens - is wonderful in its own right - the coffee and food are excellent - and the gift shop is terrific too.

Rebuilt after the fires with some examples of the heat effects and devastation on display in the visitor centre and in the gardens. Great to see the forest recover. Good coffee in the cafe, variety of good stuff in the gift shop and a kangaroo or two on the lawn if you are lucky. No entry fee is a surprise so a donation is in order. Tap to donate would be good.

I was a bit surprised to find such a great place outside of Australia's metropolitan areas! It's not like your typical Melbourne/Sydney Botanical Garden with lots of well maintained flowers and British Lawn as it has more "wild" nature including bush walks, Wallabies, Grey Kangaroos and - of course - lots of birds. The cafe offers breakfast and lunch options, reasonable priced with Indoor and (covered) outdoor seating. They also offer a BBQ area to bring / prep your own food next to the huge playground. Lots of parking space (including buses/campers/trailor); FYI: there is a second parking lot behind the first one if that is crowded! Highly recommend!
Please leave a like if this review was of any help!

These gorgeous gardens get better every time! Staff have worked so hard on bringing the gardens back to their former glory, before the devastating bushfires, and their hard work is paying off. Each time there are new sections to explore. The cafe is also wonderful, I encourage trying the scones with jam and cream! Will definitely be back 😊

Perfect setting for a picnic day with the little ones and well maintained gardens with a great auxillary shop and cafe. The gardens still could do with replacement signs for plants but it's understandable after the terrible fires that ran through. Still a lovely place to visit with a lot of native species to enjoy.

Entrance is free so a must visit if you are in the area. Experience a forest walk through 2 bridges that run over part of the park. Lovely bushland type 'Botanic Gardens'. Had a long walk around here and saw lots of wildlife, eg. Kangaroo's, various Lizards and even a big goanna!
At the café, as we had our yummy meal, we watched a Red-Bellied Black Snake hunting, catching and then eating a hapless frog. 🐸 🐍

What a superb morning we spent walking around this free!! to visit place. The gardens and forest are extremely well laid out, with short walks that you can join together and explore various areas. Some superb vegetation and plant life with various ponds positioned around to attract bird life.
Then, to add to your day a lovely cafe that served almost everything you need from a good cup of tea (very important to most of us from the UK) to hot meals. The staff were attentive and kept the place very clean & tidy.

Bird & wildlife park in 8 acres of native bush with a train, playground & picnic area.
Family had a great time here & were surprised with how big the park is. Staff were lovely, the wombat/snake show is good. There's a park, toilet facilities etc so if you bring some lunch you can take some time & really enjoy the park. The roaming wildlife was fun & the gardens themselves are beautiful. Don't expect a zoo it's much a smaller, close knit type feel which is lovely.

Staff were welcoming and friendly but the place is quite run down. Sometimes less is more and needs some maintenance. Got to hold a baby wombat which was our highlight of our 40min visit. Pretty small place so perfect for families with small kids.

Had such a great time here! Went for a weekend trip to Bateman's Bay. Tossing up between this place and Mogo Zoo. Ended up going here due to all the Australian natives. I'm really glad I did.
There were only 2 other groups when I went (mid March) so I was able to avoid other people entirely.
Sitting on the ground and hand feeding the wallabies, surrounded by beautiful nature and a variety of different birdsong, was just fantastic and made me really happy.
I'd go here again in a heartbeat!

What an amazing bird park!! We had a great morning walking around the 8 acres with loads of animals, from birds, kangaroos, emus, ostriches, peacocks, wombats, wallabies, turtles and loads of reptiles. The staff were amazing with loads of information on the animals and their back stories. If you ever get a chance you should definitely check this park out.

Lovely place. It is run down since the last time I’ve been here. Not many birds left sadly but the remaining ones are very friendly and chatty. Some wombats, minimal reptiles, deer, wallaby’s… You can still collect peacock feathers throughout then park but be warned that any with the ‘eyes’ you need to pay for (which wasn’t like this a while back).

I went during the weekend , nice and quiet seemed a little short of animals , but what I saw was good and also enjoyed the walks.

The park is much larger than it first appears and gives the sense of wandering through a botanical garden. The flora is just as enjoyable as the fauna - one of the highlights is the Illawarra Flame Trees near the entrance. The staff are very friendly and knowledgable, and it is evident that the animals are well cared for. I was pretty surprised by the negative reviews as they didn't reflect my experience at all. The only things in the park that appeared run down were the seating at the front and the bbq / picnic area. The animal enclosures and water features were all well maintained (and the toilet block was pristine). I suspect that the park just had to prioritise limited resources during & post covid, which is pretty reasonable. Absolutely worth a visit.
Lauren Johnson — Google review
Not really sure where to start. We visited during school holidays. My husband and I brought our 2 kids, after seeing on the website they did train rides, as our youngest is obsessed with trains. There is a sign out front advertising the rides. It’s also on their website. But when we got there, AFTER we paid, the lady told us the train doesn’t work, but we could sit on it. PLEASE STOP ADVERTISING THAT YOU DO TRAIN RIDES. It’s a major attraction for families, and it’s a rip off when you take their money then tell them it’s not operational.Apparently it’s been out of action for years. So, if you can read and reply to reveiws, you can update that info on your website so you’re not misinforming people.
The first thing you notice is the park looks very run down and neglected. The sitting/bbq area has a filthy bbq, cracked plastic chairs, and not clean at all. It looks like the maintenance person has just given up. There’s a lot of enclosures with nothing but garden waste in them. There’s wooden slat little bridges that are broken to the point of safety hazard. It’s just sad. The place has so much potential. And considering the amount they charge, it’s very over priced and underwhelming. The ostrich’s were cool, and the kangaroo’s. And there’s a play area for the kids. But that’s about all that’s positive. No staff around the grounds either. After seeing them blame the state of the grounds on “strong winds” in previous negative reviews,it’s just clear they’re making excuses and just can’t be bothered with the upkeep. Won’t be recommending it to anyone. Really disappointed.

Great little animal park. Great variety of Australian mammals and marsupials and birds plus other animals. Prices are pretty reasonable and you are also able to feed a majority of the animals for a small additional cost. Pretty quiet during the week so probably the best time to go. Also has a small gift shop.

Happy to have gone. Amazing to see all the beautiful Peacocks running around and fluffing their butts and spanning those gorgeous feathers. So many different species, I actually liked the fact that it was rainforesty like walking through the trails. We spent 2 hours there and enjoyed it immensely. Very surprised at how big it was, you would not know from the road. Pricey but worth it to keep the family and the animals thriving and surviving considering all that has been thrown at them the past couple of years. Friendly and walked away feeling good.
MELANIE SATTLER — Google review
Beautiful range of pheasants and parrots and lots of peacocks and guineafowls wandering around freely. The staff and friendly and helpful. The grounds are very green and lush. You can buy a feed bag and feed the grey kangaroos, the fallow deer, the llamas and many of the parrots and ostrich will also beg for some morsels from your feed bag. Spent two hours there and enjoyed taking selfies with socrates the carpet python and giving Dolly the wombat lots of butt scratches. Fun for couples, families, and kids of all ages.
Admission by donation. This place was frozen in time. The two storey building displays artifact of the town. Don't miss the second floor.

Like most Museums full of interesting displays that have made an actual physical improvement to Australia rather than ," feel good" ostentatious sops. People running it are short on help I suspect. Lots of work that could be done.

There was lots of things to see. Lots of places where you found yourself exploring and thinking of the past and others would just pass through. Then you found them them pondering over something that interested them. I found the reconstructed jail interesting. I wondered how many people had been squashed in there. Probably built with no nails... Pub next door for a meal and drink.

The Museum, an old hotel, is being renovated but has no central heating yet. It is open Fridays to Sundays incl. from eleven to three. Free, but donations welcome. Visitors often are researching family history, and always find something . The machine shed is a treasure, as are the old kitchen and dairy shed. There is also a police lock up. Pretty garden.

Cupitt's Estate, located outside Ulladulla, is a family-operated boutique winery offering a range of experiences. The estate features a vineyard where minimal-intervention winemaking techniques are employed to craft wines from estate-grown grapes as well as sourced ones. Additionally, the property houses a popular restaurant with scenic views over the vines and an on-site fromagerie where artisanal cheeses are made.
My partner and I stayed here for a surprise engagement weekend and it was perfect. The detail in the rooms was fabulous. The breakfast hamper was wonderful with delicious local produce and the fridge was so very well stocked. The pod was beautifully furnished and it was set in the perfect environment, on the winery grounds but still with a secluded and quiet feel. It was extremely convenient staying right where we had dinner and a very short drive from town and the water. The food and beverages at Cupitts were also fantastic, which is why I always stop by when I am in the area. I love the wine, stopping in for a quick lunch, or indulging in a delicious three course dinner. Highly recommended!

My husband and I went to Cupitt's Estate last night for my birthday, and it was the most wonderful experience! From the beautiful setting, to the relaxed atmosphere, to the stunning scenery. The staff were extremely warm and welcoming, explaining the menu and drinks and making sure we were happy. The food was exceptional and beautifully presented, thanks to their talented chef, and we definitely recommend the paired wines with the food! The star of the evening was the bartender, Mitchell, who mixed us superb cocktails for the occasion and was extremely knowledgeable on the wines and beers made at Cupitt's, telling us how they were crafted, what foods they suited and everything else in between! His enthusiasm and personality and obvious pride in his craft definitely added to a flawless evening. Cupitt's is certainly one of THE BEST restaurants to visit on the South Coast!

We absolutely loved our stay at Cupitt's Estate. The Cellar Door experience was a highlight, Amanda was super knowledgeable about the wines we tasted and her passion absolutely shone through! The room was so cozy and homely, plus the Luxury Escapes inclusion of the breakfast hamper and free coffee was a lovely accompaniment to the beautiful morning view of the fields. One of the best escapes we've been on, we will definitely be staying again!

Highly recommend a visit to the restaurant here and the other options looked quite nice also. While being new years day they had a set menu, the set menu had more options than any other set menu I have previously experienced. Glad I went with the option of the wine pairings as they had chosen wines that had complimented the dishes quite well. The food itself was perfect and nobody in our party was disappointed at all. Can't wait to go back and try the standard menu.!

We just had a fantastic weekend at Cupitt's Estate. I can't recommend it highly enough, everything was fantastic. We stayed in the new accommodation pods which are beautifully designed and so well thought out. Everything you could need is available. Best stocked mini bar ever. Yummy simple breakfast. Super comfortable bed and gorgeous skincare products. Our stay included a wine tasting and we also ate at Cupitt's both nights. Friday was the relaxed bar menu with live music and Saturday night we enjoyed a fabulous dinner in the restaurant. We will be back! Would be an amazing spot to come with a group of friends. Also super close to beautiful beaches.

Great food, great views, great service. We went on a cold rainy day and got a seat near the bar and a heater, had a tasting flight of the beer (brewed on-site and all great) and the wings, chips and mushroom pizza. Everything was fresh and flavoursome and the staff was lovely. Perfect spot to spend an afternoon!

We came here on the weekend with family while away on holidays. Had a lovely time there. Location is absolutely gorgeous and thankfully the weather was perfect so eating outside was wonderful. Food was amazing. Definitely on the expensive side but understanding an estate like this will have high running costs. Was not disappointed with the food. New and exciting flavours I hadn't tried before and all produce was fresh and well worth the money. The oysters were so fresh I couldn't believe how good they were. I enjoyed both of my cocktails that I ordered and we had no complaints from the kids. Meals came out really quick. We were expecting another 10-15min wait which we don't mind because it was lovely sitting around soaking in all the views.
Lovely, friendly, helpful staff. I left a personal item behind and they kept it for me until I returned the next day to pick up which I was so thankful for. Will definitely be back again and again when we are holidaying in the area.

We enjoyed our two night stay in the cabins and our two meals out here. We did feel the price paid for the accommodation was a little higher than what was delivered, but we still had a lovely stay and enjoyed the little touches like the brekkie hamper. We would have really liked it if the accommodation team had been a bit more responsive with picking up the phone, as we did have some issues with our restaurant bookings not having been made correctly and were unable to reach the team during their open hours. This would have removed some inconvenience for us.

This review is in regard to the tasting tour only. A group of 10 friends visited Cupitt’s Estate over a long weekend spending $60ea for a wine tasting and ‘tour’ that lasted all of 10 minutes sampling 4 wines in the underground cellar, a missed opportunity to encompass the breathtaking surroundings of the estate on a cloudless day of sunshine, the ‘tour’ component consisted of a walk around the back of the building to the shed where everything is processed for an additional few minutes before concluding. The tour represent awful value for money and $10-15ea would be more reasonable.
Otherwise the staff were great, friendly and very hospitable. The venue and location looked like a great place to visit and we would recommend to all if in the area. But skip the tasting, your collective $600 as a group of ten will be much better spent over the bar or restaurant, or likely both at that price tag.

What an amazing experience! We had a 3 course meal with matched wines which was absolutely superb. The service and attention was second to none.
We then stayed in one of the pods, which again was magic! The fitout and attention to detail.. and the fridge stocked with all the right things.
Our only regret was that it was only one night. I guess we need to come back soon and do it all over again.

We had a terrific experience. Highly recommend having a wine tasting then lunch and then staying overnight in one of the pods. A relaxing way to while away an afternoon and evening without kids. The wine tasting that was included with the accommodation was a highlight and we would like to thank Amanda for the stories and conversation as well as the wine. Being seated on the deck and watching the weather roll in while eating and drinking away the afternoon was only topped by the amount of water that suddenly fell from the sky. The team in the restaurant and the accommodation staff were friendly and went that extra step to create a memorable weekend. There was even a little breakfast hamper for the morning. Thank you all.

We had lunch in the restaurant. The food was amazing, especially the pasta with prawns entree. The flavour! Service was excellent. Wine fabulous. The venue is superb, including the cellar door and gourmet shop. It would have been perfect if the cheese for desert came in a slightly larger piece, or included two different cheeses - loads of crackers but little cheese. But overall an amazing lunch and we'll definitely be back!

Cupitt’s provided a wonderful escape. The accommodation pods are perfectly designed and fitted out with attention to detail and everything needed to relax in comfort. The restaurant offers lovely views across the vineyard within a stunning rural setting. Staff were very attentive and each of our three courses were beautifully presented and delicious. Lovely wines and pairing options. Great coffee as well.
Overall Cupitt’s offered everything from pre-arrival communication to leaving via the cellar door. Definitely a 5star experience.

Probably the most beautiful accomodation we have stayed in. All the little things and attention to detail made it perfect. We loved the bath, and the breakfast hamper. The value for money is great! A wonderful place to celebrate my partners birthday. We enjoyed a three course meal at the restaurant, as well as a wine tasting upon arrival.

We went to Cupitt’s Estate for my husband’s birthday and it was a memorable experience. The accommodation pod we stayed in was absolutely beautiful! We had a warm greeting of a personalized handwritten note, fresh bread and delicious snacks awaiting our arrival. The pod was impeccably clean with beautiful decorations and artwork, and an extremely comfortable bed with big clean pillows in the bedroom. The views over the farmland were stunning. The restaurant offers lovely views across the vineyard and our 3-course dinner in the restaurant was delicious coupled with friendly attentive service.
Overall, the food, wine and accommodation at the winery were all exceptional. I would definitely recommend it to anyone expecting a special experience.

Visited the estate with a group of ten for a hen’s weekend activity and had a lovely time from start to finish. The staff were attentive and service was impeccable, the estate itself is stunning. We enjoyed hearing about the history of the winemakers and the estate during our wine tasting and the banquet lunch had generous portions of delicious food. There was no issue catering to one person in the group having dietary needs which was much appreciated. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

We made the most of the incredible value of the Cupitt's Stay & Celebrate package to duck away for 1 night for our oft-neglected wedding anniversary this week and couldn't have had a more luxurious and perfectly rejuvenating romantic break.
The accommodation suites are just glorious- the original artworks, the enormous 2 person bath on the deck, the super comfy bed, the delicious house made sourdough, the sparkling wine on ice on arrival and the beautiful landscaped gardens and sunny outlook from our private deck was just what was needed.
Lunch the next day was all part of the package and we made the most of the paired wines, local seasonal produce, beautiful oysters and great views.
We have had so many special long lunches, friends weddings and visits to sample the house made beers, wines and cheeses over the years- but this was my favourite trip yet- and such great value.
Thanks Team Cupitts for bringing such an incredible offering to the South Coast. The whole thing is just so well executed- the details really matter and make the whole thing just so enjoyable.
1 night get-aways for this price- why the hell don't we do this more often?! Will be back- just loved the whole thing.

Not sure how there are over 1000 good reviews on this place.
Service was really friendly but they served one entree the wrong dish and forgot a salad we ordered.
Oysters not cold enough
Octopus entree sauce good flavour, octopus itself too tough
Kingfish entree basically flavourless
Steak main, tasty cut but overcooked and served with random undressed greens
Main eggplant pasta was probably the best although quite sweet and under salted.
Desert was fantastic and papered over the cracks

Exceptional in every sense.
The accommodation is tasteful, classy and incredibly practical, everything you could want has been thought of from the major to minor details.
The service was awesome and friendly both when checking in and dining at the restaurant or drinking on the lawn.
We will be back - regularly!

Dined in the restaurant on the three course autumn special, that was reasonably priced. The mussel/clam/leak dish was the standout, other items ordered (crab pasta, steak, duck) were good but not exceptional. Service was very prompt and friendly. To top it off the the views were peaceful.

We recently celebrated our 28th Anniversary by having dinner at Cupitt's Estate restaurant.
From the time we arrived we were greeted by friendly staff and made to feel welcome and the views are just stunning.
Our waiter on the night was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble and we had our meals served at just the right spacing.
Food was 5 star, full of flavour and well presented.
Thankyou again for making our special night even more special.

My husband and our dog had a lovely lunch in the Garden. We enjoyed our selections of food and enjoyed the wine tasting. The wine tasting was by a paddle with a QR code to read the notes of each wine. We really enjoyed it. Having the tasting notes while eating our meal.

I've reviewed a few times. As an Asia Pacific position, I've eaten in thousands of restaurants over a few decades.
The food is superb, service professional and personable. Jasmin was a great serving person for us. She was top notch professional and extremely personable. She made it so much more pleasurable for my wife and I.
The food, as always was fantastic. With the best restaurants I've sampled around the world.
All the wines are gold standard and I recommend you order the recommended wines with each of the great courses,
Book a meal here - You won't be disappointed.

This was the perfect mini-break. The room (pod) was just lovely with outstanding views of the valley and the moving tapestry of cows and calves. The bath with bubbles was a delight. Dinner was perfect ... and the breakfast hamper quite fine. Particularly appreciated the single use drip coffee bags. Our wine tasting was informative and delightful - really enjoyed the conversation too. So all in all - five stars.

Fantastic service from the moment of booking until check out including the afternoon spent in the sun at the restaurant enjoying drinks and food. The view from the balcony whilst enjoying a huge double bath was exceptional and everything about the stay was first class - would highly recommend treating yourself to an afternoon and night at Cupitts! Very impressed with every aspect.

Had lunch on New Year’s Eve here at Dusty's Garden Bar. The location is beautiful overlooking the vineyard, live music and the staff we all prompt and friendly. We ordered two cocktails - both of which were overly sweet, so then followed with beers, which they had a nice selection of. The food was delicious and service was prompt. When we finished we tasted their brut in the tasting room and it was absolutely delicious. It was a lovely way the end the year

Cupitt’s Estate definitely exceeded our expectations, not that we thought it was going to be bad at all. From Dusty Gardens with great live music to our impeccable suite with the outdoor bathtub, we loved everything. The service and food was exceptional. It was the perfect place to celebrate my one year anniversary. The attention to detail of the whole area was fantastic and I would highly recommend for couples looking for a weekend getaway. I would definitely love to come back in the future.
Warden Head Lighthouse, located in Ulladulla, offers breathtaking panoramic views of the ocean from Jervis Bay to Bawley Point. It is a popular spot for whale watching during migration season and provides ample opportunities for stunning photography. This Victorian-inspired lighthouse, built in 1873 and standing at twelve meters tall, is one of only two remaining iron wrought lighthouses in New South Wales.
I was Pleasantly surprised to visit this beautiful location, where you can see the whole wide Pacific ocean ahead and if you are lucky some penguins (which I saw) and may be an astray whale. Beautiful location and quite photogenic. I had one concern that place was lonely and there was no security cameras on the head or on the road where there was no people movement. I remained scared all the time because of a person in a strange outfit.

Nice views overlooking the ocean. In the right there's also a small walk down to a another lookout. Has some picknick places and a small carpark

Built of iron wrought plates with a Victorian inspired design, the Warden Head light house stood twelve metres tall and is actually 1 of only 2 currently existing iron wrought lighthouses in NSW.
If you're interested the other is the Wollongong Breakwater Lighthouse.
A bit of history, the lighthouse first erected in 1873 but was first situated at Ulladulla Breakwater to guard the entrance of the Port before it was later moved to its current location in 1879 due to increased ships getting lost.
For those looking for a bit of adventure, you can park your car at BUMMIE BAY (excellent surfing location) and take a short walk through the Coome Nujunga aboriginal inspired walking trail.
Along the way there are plenty of plants, insects and bird life to see. Once you reach the lighthouse, there are a few maze like small tracks to take which will take you to the look outs and if you were as lucky as I was, you might see wales and dolphins swimming about.
We also saw a dead baby snake (picture below) on the road so be very careful. On a side note, there's a nice brick wall near THE Boomie Bay car park entrance perfect for selfie lovers - Apollo my dog loved it. Hehe..
Both locations are both human and dog friendly! Yay! Theres a foot ball field with public toilets about 10mins walk to Boomie Bay which is an additional 15mins walk to the lighthouse!
Anyone fit at heart: Park at Brodie Park Geological Time Walk. 103 North St, Ulladulla NSW 2539 and walk/run up to the lighthouse but stay hydrated. Was a good 45-60mins walk with 2 small tiny pomeranians. Was worth the adventure! 🐕😁🐕🥳

You can drive right up to the light house and viewing platform so no excuses for not doing a drive by. From all the information boards I guess this is a Good place for whale watching, but wrong time of year now. They could have added some info on the light house itself. Missed opportunity. This is a good place to park and go for a walk in the reserve.

Beautiful views, road was closed due to lighthouse under repair so a 500 mt walk. Well worth the look. Cars only in nearby park area.
