Very beautiful temple. Well maintained. Only 20/- for entry. You can buy offerings from outside stalls. Please carry lots of change as you need to put dakshina in all of them(you can skip that too). The tallest linga looks very beautiful. You will get tired clicking pictures. Very scenic. A great day outing with family and friends. Roads are good. Try to leave early as it gets very sunny as the day passes. Not many restaurants near the temple but you can find many in the NH75.Definitely recommend.

The place is good if you wish to go with family and friends. Male sure that you are following Google roads correctly since there is high chances of getting deviated. Once the line starts you will have to visit all small temples inside it. Entry fee is 20 rupees, so there is no issue with it. There are many places nearby so plan correctly so that you can cover many places.

The Shree Kotilingeshwara Temple is a truly captivating place of worship.
What makes it special are the countless meticulously arranged lingams that create a unique and serene atmosphere, perfect for introspection and devotion.

We went there on Diwali and that also on Monday there was a long queue before entering into the temple. But once we entered inside the temple, it was speechless. We enjoyed a lot there and I recommend you to visit this temple if you are planning for 1 Day trip from Bengaluru. You will love the Journey, it was damm good.

If you haven’t experienced something unique then you should visit this temple. Visited at 7:30 am in order to avoid rush and sunshine burning our foot. But once you get inside you will be completely amazed by this temple.
Rahul Rungta — Google review
Definitely a must visit even if you are not the religious type. Please carry a lot of loose cash preferably about 200 bucks in 10s, much needed. Better to leave shoes/chappals in car itself. Try to reach early, around 7-9 am best. It gets crowded after that.
Avin Richards — Google review
A very beautiful place to visit. Please note that it takes a minimum of 3-4 hours to completely see the huge temple. There are three main temples inside where you will find a queue. If the crowd is moderate then the waiting time in each temple queue is around 30min. Carry water with you as inside you may not get it.

During my recent visit to the breathtaking Kotilingeshwar Temple was a truly remarkable and spiritually enriching experience. The temple's architectural grandeur, the serene ambiance, and the devotion that permeated the air left an indelible impression on me. Whether you are a devout follower of Lord Shiva or simply seeking solace and tranquility, this temple is a must-visit destination that will undoubtedly touch your soul and leave you with a sense of divine connection.

1. Ensure to take a left turn while on Highway when coming from Bangalore. Then only you will find a clean & good road. Any right turn & you will face a uneven & poor road.
2. They will ask you to pay for several types of Pooja, so keep a change with you.
3. Entry fees of 20₹.
4. Parking is available nearby temple, so no need to worry.
5. Ensure to take umbrellas with you, incase it rains.

Good weekend gateway near Bangalore. Paid Parking is available. 20 rs entry fees to get inside the temple. Well maintained place.
But the place is too much commercialized. Priests won't allow you to do Puja or offerings without huge money. Every temple you go inside its all same. Dint like this sort of approach.
Apart from that it's all good here. You can take photos and spend some time.
Restrooms, small eateries, shops selling statues are there.
Prathama Mohanty — Google review
Amazing temple. With its world's largest shiv ling as also a grand collection of shiv lings gives this place an out of the world ambience. Gets crowded on a Sunday amd the wait time to enter could be 20 miniutes to half and hour. 20/- Rs. entry fee. One goes though a barriced walk to reach the end of the passage which makes you enter 3 small temples before you finally reach the maha shiv ling. On the Sunday we went, the route become very crowded and going through each temple becomes a bit suffocating. No option to avoid the temples unless you jump the barricades. But once you reach the maha shiv ling area, all the efforts feel rewarded.
Ketan Dhruv — Google review
The place is good. We need to buy a ticket before entering. Idols of God is very nice but they ask for money at various places inside the temple, this will not make it divine, it feels as business. Because of this we don't feel as a temple of peace.

Can you believe this temple has 90 lacs shivlings? Yes thats correct. Koti meas one crore and they are just 10 lacs away from it.
The place is so pure and pious that you will devotee yourself to the God. The temple is situated in Kolar and I would personally suggest that the best time to visit is early morning. Due to covid, less number of people visit the temple and you get enough time to meditate there.
The temple has one of the largest shivling in Asia ( please check uploaded pictures) along with Nandi🙏. The priests perform Avishek pooja on your behalf and that's one of the best experience you can have.
The entry fee is just Rs 20/- and you are allowed to bring cameras but taking pictures of the gods is not allowed. You can take pictures of the 90 lac shivlings though.

It's an ok place. Thousands of man-made Shiva Linga are placed in a small area with small temples around the Linga's. Note that this is not a religious place but a commercial tourist place - that's the feeling I got inside premise of the temple.

Nice temple near Kolar Gold field area. There are 90 lakhs shivlings are there. It also has 2nd Brahma temple here. Priest here first tell us about god inside temple and then give puja with your name and goutra. For entry, you have to pay ₹20/- per adult and car park is ₹50/-. Ample car park available there. Trust should provide clean toilet for devotees.

Har har Mahadev... This place is in KGF Dist and a short distance from Bangarpet. You need to buy tickets before entering this place which may be crowded on public holidays or weekends. Be mindful of shopkeepers who can ask you to keep the shoes there and buy prasadam.and make a visit to the temple. I would suggest keeping it in the shoe stand which will be a few minutes away from the main entrance. Here so many small idols are present where priests may be asked to pay money. I can't find it wrong..it's your call. Parking is paid (50rs for the car). Entry ticket 20rs. If you find this review helpful then give a 👍.

Just positive vibes. Park vehicle outside the main gate only. Worthy visit in Karnataka. Many monkeys are roaming inside temple premises, be careful. The temple is a cultural treasure for India 🇮🇳 home to mind blowing architecture and heritage that still stands the test of time. Despite the lack of responsible attention from the government the temple is in great shape and home to amazing aspects of Hindu heritage. It is a must visit experience and the intricacies of stone carvings can be mesmerising. If you plan a visit ensure to spend atleast 2-3 hours so that you can absorb the details. The place has ample parking and is family friendly. I have fond memories of visiting the place 10 years ago. Some of the places need immediate attention and renovation. If you visit, kindly keep the place clean and avoid littering the place.

Bhoganandeshwara Temple
Nandigrama, nestled at the foothills of Nandi on the outskirts of Bengaluru houses a majestic 9th-century temple dedicated to Lord Shiva called as the Boganandeshwara Devasthana. The sprawling complex boasts intricately carved pillared mantapas inviting visitors to immerse themselves in the grandeur of Dravidian architecture. This temple is a testament to the artistic finesse believed to be built during Rastrakuta dynasty rule. Among its treasures a serene stepwell known as Pushkarni/Kakyani offers a tranquil retreat, while a dedicated area for weddings adds a touch of privacy and sacredness to matrimonial celebrations. Exploring the temple grounds is akin to embarking on a journey through time, where each stone whispers tales of devotion and craftsmanship from centuries past.
Full day Itinerary from Bengaluru - Starting the day with a scenic drive to breathtaking Nandi Hills, visit Yoganandeshwara temple on the Hill top and Bhoganandeshwara temple at the foothills. Head to a nearby Vineyard and visit a flower orchard. Finally end your day with a delicious meal at a local restaurant from the surrounding area.
Other places to include in this visit can be Rangasthala temple, Muddenahalli (birth place of Sir.M. Vishweshvariah) museum, Isha - Sadhguru Sannidhi.
We had the pleasure of hosting a colleague from our office who was visiting from Germany. Her reaction to the heritage site was absolutely priceless – she was utterly captivated by its charm and thoroughly enjoyed every moment of her visit.

This is an ancient temple, very peaceful and calm. Main deity here is Shiva as Bhoga Nandeeshwara and Arunachaleshwara. Temple architecture and stone carvings throughout the temple are mesmerizing.
Place is nicely maintained and very hygienic. Lawn and little lake outside the temple is very beautiful. The Shiva statue near the lake is nice too. The temple is not crowded when I visited during the weekend and you can easily spend 1hr here. Must visit and you can plan this temple as well along with Aadiyogi.
Taking photos is not allowed inside the temple. Paid shoe stand is available. Plenty of parking available around the temple for both 2 & 4 wheelers.

Amazing place to visit. You can see three dynasties of architecture. There is so much to see, including signs of how it became a place to stay. It’s a good sized complex with more than one dancing area, although some of the floor stones had been removed from the older part. Do look up to see the frescoes dating from the 16th century, and don’t miss the 16th century parade cart outside, carved to look like the temple itself. This place is well worth a trip.

It is a very old temple and the structure is good. Must visit for temple architecture people interest. Very calm and no crowd at all. A very old peepal tree, also called Ficus religiosa in entrance. A big garden also if you want to spend some time with family and kids. Parking is not free so be careful. Park road side has a lot of empty land nearby if you want to save some money.
Happy journey.. keep reading and helping each other!!!
The Lepakshi Nandi temple features a striking granite sculpture of Nandi, the sacred bull of Lord Shiva. It's located two hours from Bangalore and is best visited during the day due to safety concerns at night. The road leading to the temple is well-maintained and free of potholes. Visitors can explore the open park-like setting beyond 6pm but should refrain from climbing on the statue.
Simply awesome...one of the largest monolithic , single stone Nandi in india....this is about 400m from the Lepakshi veerabhadra temple ...it supposedly looks straight at the 7 hooded serpent in the temple who guards the shiv ling...a must visit place just for the magnanimity of the architecture

This is a good place to visit, especially for those from Bangalore since it is hardly 2 hour journey (including traffic/rainy weather). Best way to plan is for a morning to afternoon visit and return before it gets dark. The route is not safe during nights especially when we want to drive a car at high speeds. The roads are well maintained though and we saw almost no potholes along the lepakshi road from the big arc. This bull statue is open beyond 6pm as it is an open place. It feels more like a park and many people were trying to climb it.

The temple is very beautiful. The temple is around 500 years old and is a pure ancient architectural beauty. The place is just 2 hours drive away from Bangalore. We can very well make a one day plan to this place and return by afternoon if we start by morning 8. There is a garuda statue at the entrance. But were not allowed nearby for reasons unknown even after paying them to see the place. The parking and restrooms are pricey. 10 Rs. Just to enter the toilet irrespective of what you do inside. There is enough parking space. Would have been better if the management improve the temple instead of being money minded.

It's one of the most important attractions in Lepakshi after the Lepakshi main temple.

The Lepakshi Nandi, a monolithic bull statue, stands as an iconic symbol of artistic finesse and cultural significance in India. Carved from a single granite rock, it resides in the town of Lepakshi in Andhra Pradesh. This massive sculpture measures about 4.5 meters in height and 8.23 meters in length, showcasing exceptional craftsmanship and detailing.
Believed to represent the vehicle (vahana) of Lord Shiva, the Nandi statue is adorned with intricate carvings, displaying various mythological motifs and ornate designs. Its posture exudes a sense of grandeur and devotion, capturing the essence of Hindu mythology.
Legend has it that the statue was constructed during the Vijayanagara Empire's reign in the 16th century. Apart from its religious significance, the Lepakshi Nandi serves as a testament to the architectural brilliance of that era.
Pilgrims, history enthusiasts, and art connoisseurs flock to witness this marvel, appreciating not just its size but also the cultural heritage it embodies. The Lepakshi Nandi remains a revered and awe-inspiring testament to India's rich artistic and religious legacy.

This is well worth a trip. The temple itself is beautiful and well cared for, but there are also plenty of souvenir stalls outside. Don’t miss the biggest Nandi (bull) on the way in and the new bird perched on the hilltop. The story behind the temple is fascinating and you can see the footprint left by the goddess - or made by something else… it is beautiful and you could happily spend a couple of hours in the area.

A nice place to start your early morning, ancient history of India to look at. Start early around 5 AM from Bangalore so that you can enjoy morning breeze. Inside temple premises shoes aren't allowed. You can keep it in car itself. Close to temple Nandi and theme park is there. It will be take around 2.5hrs to 3 hrs to see everything.

Majestic !!
One of the biggest nadi statute and this one is quite different one, as we can see face is slightly upwards due to a sense of Maga Shiva linga in front of it.
This is located right next to main road which is goes towards lepakshi town/village and around 300-400 away from the main temple.
Basic amenities are present inside premises like drinking water , restrooms and small green garden and amole seating benches.
People can sit here and enjoy viewing the statue after coming from temple and near by jatayu park.

At a distance of 500 m from Lepakshi Bus Stand and 500 m from Sri Veerabhadra Temple (Lepakshi Temple), Lepakshi Nandi (Bull) is one of the main attractions in Lepakshi and a well-known landmark for the tourism of Lepakshi. It was built during Vijayanagara period when the main Veerabhadra Temple was built.
The Lepakshi Nandi is made out of single granite. The monolithic Nandi sculpture is said to be the second largest monolithic structure in India after Gomateshwara in Shravanabelagola. It is 20 feet in height and 30 feet in length. The Nandi statue is decorated with a necklace, muvvalahara, a bell chain with small horns.
It is noticeable that the head of the bull is held aloft at a higher angle than usual. In addition, the expression of submission, which is typical of Nandi before Shiva, is not seen in the statue here.
This big granite bull is situated on the main road beside AP Tourism Haritha resort. It has been positioned such that it faces the 18 ft Nagalinga in Veerabhadra Temple Complex.

This old temple is inside a village and a divine representation of Indian culture, religious values and mythological history. A beautiful place to spend a couple of hrs. The stone carved structures and pillars are admirable. The only point of resentment is the paintings on ceilings are being worn out by time which should be preserved and restored. The govt should maintain the temple and cleanliness. It's not that we get to see such valuable pieces of our history often.

If one is travelling from Banglore towards Hydrabad after almost 100 kms towards Hydrabad, the signage takes one to this magnificent temple & Samadi Palace of SatSaiBaba Ji. After covering 45 kms of neatly mettled road one reaches SatSai District as it’s called. With multi floral natural decoration on both sides of the road it’s a very serene & peaceful temple Ashrama. For rupees 15 & rupees two one can have a full meal with tea. The temple has a huge number of volunteers to guide the new entrants. One can also book a stay within the temple premises. During noon the main shrine remains closed and only opens in afternoon. So one needs to plan accordingly. If one is later headed to Hydrabad there is an alternate shorter route via Anantpur.

Belum Caves, located on the Indian subcontinent, offers a remarkable experience with its vast underground cave system adorned with geological formations and artificial lighting. The site boasts the largest and longest cave system open to the public in India, featuring long passages, galleries and spacious caverns that occasionally contain fresh water. Visitors are advised to bring a torch or headlamp for better visibility as sticky mud may cause footwear loss. Additionally, one should carry water bottles due to stuffiness inside causing excessive sweating.
A very well maintained cave. It has sufficient lighting and oxygen inside and has directions that are clear so that one doesn't get lost inside the cave. Has ventilation ducts at few places to keep the air circulation at a good pace. The place is very neatly maintained and no plastic waste was found inside the cave. The formation of the rocks and everything looks so good and interesting if one is willing to explore and learn more about it. A good place to play scary house with your friends of course :) Important to take water bottles before going in as one would sweat a lot and feel thirsty in their journey. All in all a good place to visit to spend some quality time.

People who love adventures and rock formations, would certainly love to go to this place. Such a natural beauty. The cave is so deep, wide and long. It absolutely amazes you at every part with its deep trenches. There are places within the cave which are so narrow and the rocks are porous as the water keeps dripping through these rocks.
Please make sure to have nice footwear (sandals or gum boots) as you have grip and not hurt your feet. The whole tour would approx take 2 hours. You'll drain all your energy by the time you are back as the terrain is tough, long and, very suffocating. You end up profusely sweating. Carry some energy drinks and food to keep yourself hydrated and keep your energy levels high.
The sad part is about the maintenance by the governments. Though we have blowers and lights inside the cave, most of them are out of order and not functional which makes the journey tiring.

Underground caves miles and miles long !
Amazing shapes and structures formed naturally over thousands of years by erosion, deposition, transfer of minerals by water, etc.
A must-visit place for many reasons, but one is rarity.
To make the best of your visit, be sure to take a very powerful torch because your phone LEDs are insufficient to see the details.
And wear well fitting shoes, because slippers/sandals are very dangerous for the terrain.
Carefully note or photograph every junction you pass, most have no English signs, and you can't phone for help as there is insufficient signal underground.
Not an enjoyable or safe place for naughty children or aged people though.

We traveled to Belum caves on a Saturday afternoon. The place does get a lot of tourists as it was quite busy Saturday.
The ticket is priced at ₹70 adults and ₹50 kids. They were surprisingly only accepting cash payment which is quite inconvenient, they should start card payments/UPI.
The caves are well maintained, have good air ventilation, well placed signs to follow. I wish the AP government authorities would keep dustbins inside the caves as people do carry water bottles and tend to throw them randomly. Do carry water bottles if possible it can can get quite humid and sweaty inside.
Belum caves are 3229m long and are the second largest natural caves in Indian subcontinent. Definitely recommend visiting it.
Improvement-
* Even though it’s mentioned Staircase is damaged people were still climbing on it. Please do fix the staircase as it’s not safe.
*Washrooms are are in a pitiable state! Requesting the authorities to take action and upgrade the facilities.

Plus points : A magnificent creation of Nature worth visiting . The stalactites , stalagmites, courses and caverns were created over a period of millions of years , by an ancient flow of water through limestone and quartz . This is the second largest subterranean cave system in India .
Depth goes from 80ft to 120 ft . Air vents are provided at regular intervals . Photography is allowed .
Minus points : Being a Protected Monument under care of the State Government , more thought and sensitivity should have gone into its maintenance .
The garish colored lights are an eyesore marring the natural beauty of the rocks . The spiral stairway to get to the low point is shaky . Names of caves and Exit signs are painted directly on cave walls instead of on boards .
Fact file :
Entrance ticket : Rs70 per adult . Carpark :Rs20
Guides ( Telugu,Hindi,English) available .
Kids playground , basic toilets, a snack kiosk in premises .
Recommended : Carry water . As it gets very humid and sweaty inside, carry a hand towel too. Good walking shoes , to walk on uneven surfaces . Visit during cooler hours of the day and in dry , non-rainy season .
Reportedly, crowded on weekends .
Please do not break off stone bits to carry as souvenir . Please do not scribble/ scratch your initials on those ancient rocks . Please don’t litter . It was painful to see some tourists doing such things , during my visit.
Lets learn to respect shared heritages .

An amazing cave experience. Recommend every visitor traveling to city of Kurnool or Nandyal in State of Andhra Pradesh to take some time out and visit Belum Caves.
An advisory would be to carry Torch-light as there are zones which are very dim lit corners. A to Gaurav Buddhas statue adorns at entrance. The Caves are very well planned and our appreciation to the Team behind the concept and execution too.
The overall maintenance of Caves leaves a lot to be desired. A few zones had no AC and the places were hot and perspiring too. There were broken equipments like AC parts and broken light consoles that were lying in open and had not been moved out.

It was different experience to be in underground caves. Rock formations inside caves are really beautiful. Main drawback was feeling too much hot inside the caves due to more crowd. This temple was constructed by King Harihara Bukka Raya of the Sangama Dynasty of the Vijayanagara Empire in the 15th century.[citation needed] It was built according to Vaishnavaite traditions.
One story of the site's origin is as follows: The sage Agastya wanted to build a temple for Lord Venkateswara on this site. However, the statue that was made could not be installed as the toe nail of the idol got broken. The sage was upset over this and performed a penance for Shiva. When Shiva appeared, he said the place suits Shiva better as it resembles Kailash. Agastya then requested Shiva to give the devotees a Parvathi Goddess as Lord Uma Maheswara in a single stone, which Shiva obliged.
A second story is as follows: Chitteppa, a devotee of Shiva, was worshiping Shiva and Shiva appeared to him as a tiger. Chitteppa understood that it was Lord Shiva in tiger form, and shouted Neganti Shivanu ne kanti (meaning: I saw Shiva I saw), and danced with joy. There is a cave called Chitteppa nearby. Sri Yaganti Uma Maheswara Temple is one of the few temples patronized by one of the great dynasties of India. Every year Maha Shivaratri is celebrated and a large number of devotees from all over Andhra Pradesh visit. Shiva, Parvati and Nandi are the main deities in this temple. This temple is 14 km away from Banaganipalli in kurnool dt. The saint lord Veerabrahmendra swami stayed here for some time and wrote Kalagnanam

Amazing temple to be visited, most of the time it’s crowded. Shiva is the main deity at this temple, once you come out of the darshan you will witness a huge Nandi statue. Just adjacent to the temple you will see a hill connecting from the shiva temple to this step hill. Once you climb the steep hill you will see Venkateshwara swamy. It is believed that Lord Venkateshwara stepped his foot 🦶 first here, Kadapa was his second and third is Tirumala. So the Poojari said that what ever we wish to happen in your life you can pray here and once it’s fulfilled we have to perform Pooja to the deity. Must visit temple.

There are few temples in this area of lord Shiva and other deities. One temple is on the ground and others are inside the caves, as you have to climb few steps to reach. Inside the the Shiva temple it is very vibrant and alive as you would be feeling like seating there for sometime. There are several shops outside. The whole area is surrounded by the rocky hills and ruins.

As per Sri veera Bramham Gari kalagnanam, if Yaganti Nandi stand and move it will be sign of kaliyugam ending. For every 20 years the Nandi size will increase one inch which was Declared by Archeology Department of India. There are 2 famous pushkarinis in this Temple which was identified by Sri Aagastya mahamuni. There are 3 Famous caves named as Sri Venkateswara cave, Aagastya cave, and Belu caves. If you want to perform sparsha Darshanam to lord Uma maheswara u will take ticket cost of 75 rupees for each person. Entry ticket Rs. 10. If you want to visit this temple there are no direct bus facility. First you will reach Nandyal then you pick banagaipalle bus. And the speciality here is the growing Nandi (bull) which is predicted to come to life and it is believed among the locals that when the stone turns to life, the world will end. There's 11 Elephant's stables. All of them are interconnected with each other. There is entry fee of Rs.40 per Indian adult. Inside this complex there are plenty of historical monuments.
The whole building looks symmetric with respect to this central hall. The tower of the central hall resembles (though mostly destroyed) more like that of temples. However the five pairs of domes on either side are of Islamic in style. They are better preserved and of alternating patterns. Metal hooks (used to tie the elephants) on the inside roof can be seen. At the rear of each hall are small manhole type openings for the mahouts to enter the elephant compartments. It's one of the UNESCO World Heritage Site
A big Lawn Area to sit and relax, fresh air it was awesome experience.. Try to visit in the morning or evening.

The Elephant Stables are an architectural marvel that seamlessly blends functionality with aesthetic beauty. The eleven domed chambers, each intricately adorned with carvings and ornamentation, reflect the meticulous craftsmanship of the Vijayanagara artisans. The sheer scale of the structure is imposing, and it's impossible not to be impressed by the regal aura it exudes.
As you wander through the chambers, you can almost hear the echoes of history. These stables were once the royal quarters for the majestic elephants of the Vijayanagara kings. The play of sunlight on the weathered stone, the interplay of shadows within the domed chambers, and the juxtaposition of nature against the ancient architecture create a visual spectacle. It's a place where every angle tells a story.
Kudos to the authorities for the commendable preservation efforts. The site is well-maintained, and informative signboards provide historical context. The guided tours available are insightful, offering a deeper understanding of the significance of the Elephant Stables in the context of Vijayanagara history.
Despite being a popular tourist spot, the Elephant Stables exude a sense of tranquility. The vast open space around the structure allows visitors to explore at their own pace, appreciating the details of the carvings and absorbing the historical ambiance without feeling crowded.
Walking through the Elephant Stables felt like stepping into a time capsule. The architectural finesse, coupled with the historical context, provides a unique cultural insight into the lifestyle and grandeur of the Vijayanagara Empire.

One among the few least destroyed structures in Hampi, Elephant Stable is a major tourist attraction. This long building with a row of domed chambers was used to ‘park’ the royal elephants. There are 11 domed tall chambers; some of them are inter- connected. The center one is specially decorated and big. Probably the musicians and the associated band troupes had been using this during ceremonies involving elephant processions.

The home of Royal Elephants, the Elephant Stable is a conjunction of grand structures meant as a resting ground for elephants whose job was perhaps to protect the queens and her entourage from any kind of enemy attacks. There is a guard's quarters as well nearby which indicates the purpose and positioning. It is part of Zenana Enclosure. Beautiful monument and temple. Booking tickets online will save you money and time. Try to make it to the temple early in the morning especially during summer months, not a lot of shade and it gets very hot from noon till 5 pm. There is a 1 km walk from parking, or a shuttle. The shuttle is not sufficient for the crowd, so might end up waiting up to an hour depending on the crowd, one shuttle transports 9 people and they have 3 shuttles running. If you decide to walk, there’s no wait, but not a lot of shade on the path. Would recommend hiring a guide if you are interested in learning the stories carved on the walls and pillars.

Travel to these marvels and architectural masterpieces is the only way to enrich oneself with the vast knowledge and understand the history. Must visit place in Humpi.

The only word that comes to my mind after seeing this structure is Brilliance! What a beautiful piece of artwork- every inch of the masterpiece is so amazingly built that words are not enough to describe it. The setting is superb! The carvings on the pillars are fabulous. Hats of to the artisans who created such a beautiful temple!

Must visit place in Hampi
Ample parking space available
From the parking there is a long walk(around 750 meters) to the actual temple. Its worth the walk if you do not want to miss the old market place ruins and beautiful pond on the way. Battery operated vehicles are also available if there are kids and elders.(Rs 20 per head)There will be some queue , but it moves fast. Once you reach the actual temple a nominal fee of Rs 40 is charged per head.
It is worth taking a guide if you are really interested about the glorious history of the place. You find certified guides around the temple. They charge around 500rs to show the temple around. But knowing the history really adds value to our visit, which otherwise would end up just as a selfie destination.
Saraskanth T.K. — Google review
The majestic temple is an absolute man made marvel. Even in the scorching heat in peak summer, you would still end un enjoying visiting the place. The guides here charge a mere 300 INR but again their commitment to helping you understand the beautiful history of the place is average (value for money).
Ideally you should visit this place either early in the morning or late in the evening to beat the heart and do have a guide to tag along. Don’t walk to the temple, take a e-rickshaw and while returning you can walk if you want.
Chinmoy Mishra — Google review
One of the most popular place in Hampi. The stone chariot printed in the 50rs note is located here. If you are coming by own vehicle you can drive upto the parking and from there we get the buggy vehicle for the 1km distance to the temple or else can walk. If you are visiting Hampi by public transport then the best way to reach here is to walk from Hampi bazaar area which will be a distance of 2.5km. This walk through the beautiful historical remains of Hampi including Achyutaraaya temple & Kings balance is a great experience. The distance to here from Virupaksha temple by road is 8km and autos may charge 300-400rs. You will get autos nearby the parking area. Couldn't find any buses to here.
The place is very beautiful and well maintained. Ticket rate was 40rs and we can use the same ticket for other monuments in Hampi.

Hampi is a place which has a lot of monuments spread across an area of more than few square kilometres.
You will always find a board in all the monuments which states where you are along with a list of more than 60 places to see or visit.
Refer to the pics posted in this review and you can see a lot of the items.
You need to understand that touring hampi is not a days job. It will take 3 days to see all the spectacular sites. It hurts to see so much destruction done by humans in the past. Imagine these over 650 yrs old and still standing. The natural damage is way less than damages done by humans.
Every where you go there will be a cluster of things to see and you can see them one by one.
All maybe listed as different places in maps but you have to understand that they are different architectural marvels but located within the vicinity of a major grand structure.
It’s always good to explore self rather than blindly believing the reviews posted by amateur like us.
Visit HAMPI once in your lifetime for sure.

Very beautiful, soothing and peaceful temple

This is such a beautiful architecture . Big temple complex and the place has lot of history. They have 3 headed nandi which was destroyed so ASI has placed 3 different Nandi to denote 3 times Pooja of Lord Shiva. You can do darshan very easily and temple complex has a elephant which goes by the name Lakshmi. She will bless you once you give some offerings. The inverted shadow of the gopuram is beautiful.

Very good feeling to visit this temple in the morning, low crowd and great experience. Lots of monkeys though around and it’s good if you carry some bag if you want to feed banana to the elephant as monkeys won’t let you carry it till there. Place for shoes is properly placed and parking is well designed. Also note to buy the ticket at entrance if you want to go inside and near to the statues.

Hampi is a jewel of Karnataka, rich in history and serenity. The map of Hampi was designed by various rulers from the Vijayanagar empire. Almost every step leads to a temple, each with a unique architectural design, significance, and story to tell. Known to be a hippie’s paradise, Hampi’s only dry point is its climate.

What a surreal and do one experience visiting this iconic temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.
I visited Hampi for 2 nights during my recent solo motorcycle ride to Karnataka and this was one of the most unforgettable highlights of the ride.
I visited this temple very early morning at 6 am while it was still dark and the temple looked absolutely gorgeous shining and shimmering.
I had an absolutely fantastic Darshan of the Garbha Griha and was also fortunate to watch the Mandir Elephant going back to her shed.
I spent almost an hour inside the temple admiring the beautiful architecture of this temple.
Words aren't enough to describe my experience I had here but I still tried.
This just can't be missed.

This place is truly special. The serenity here is unmatched. Nearby, the Kadalekalu Ganesha temple is a mesmerizing sight. Its sheer size and grandeur leave you feeling awestruck.
During our visit, we went to Virupaksha near sunset, and the experience was magical. The place was bathed in golden light, creating a beautiful ambiance. Make sure not to miss Lakshmi, the elephant, inside the Virupaksha temple. She graciously accepts offerings and blesses you, adding a spiritual touch to your visit.
Be aware that you might encounter monkeys, and they can be quite playful, sometimes attempting to snatch your offerings.

Dedicated to Lord Shiva and his consort Pampadevi, this is the only temple here that is still used for worship. Parts of the temple pre-date the Vijayanagara empire. The temple, with its nine storied gopuram, towers above the other structures at Hampi. The ceiling of the Ranga Mantapa is beautifully painted with scenes from the epics and Puranas.
Sri Raghavendra Swami Vaari Matham is a sprawling temple complex situated along the riverside, dedicated to a Hindu saint. The temple boasts of magnificent stone carvings and hosts daily rituals. I visited the temple today 15.5.2022 with my sisters. Had a peaceful darshan though there was rush. We contributed to Annadanam. Finally we came to buy prasadam. Prasadam per pocket is Rs 25/-. I gave 50 and the lady sitting in the counter asked me rudely to get change or make way for others. We come from far of places to see Raghavendra God. But I was upset as she shouted at the top of her voice. Please post people who help and understand the devotees. My other experience in the temple was very good.

Has a large courtyard and a majestic walkway to the temple. The river flowing behind the temple adds to the beauty.
The museum next to the temple is very interesting. It gives you an insight into our religions well as the vast cosmic universe . The various Lords / God and Goddess explained. Children should be exposed to this. Found meaning in why we say a prayer prior to meal, how to, and like. The body as a whole and its system too explained from religion point of view.

The lake boasts of a waterfront park where visitors can enjoy boating and watch sunsets with family and kids. Additionally, it features Swami Vivekananda's statue situated in the middle of the lake.
At a distance of 6 km from Hubli Junction Railway Station, Unkal Lake is a stunning lake situated at the Unkal locality of Hubli. It is one of the must include places in Hubli Tour Packages.
Unkal Lake is a beautiful picnic spot and a major source of drinking water for the twin cities of Hubli & Dharwad. About 110 years old, the lake covers an area of nearly 200 acres. This site is renowned as the 'Karma Bhoomi' of Shri Siddappajja, who was born in 1859. He eloped from his home at the age of 14 to find a Guru and resided in Unkal Mailarlings Temple. Shri Siddappajja died in 1921 and since then a 'Jatre' is organized at this site.
This picturesque water body is surrounded by a lush garden that mesmerizes travelers coming here in search of peace and serenity. This is among the most popular places to visit in Hubli. Most people visit this lake during evening times as it offers an enchanting sunset view. Another attraction of this lake is the statue of Swami Vivekananda that has been placed in the middle of the lake. Great place for walkers and jogger’s . We could only make 1/4th round of the entire lake . According to the security of the lake the entire periphery of the lake is about 6.5 kms . The lake closes at 07:00 pm . If you are planning to cover the entire round then have ample time before you take the full circle.
The lake is just next to Hotel naveen . The pavement have been well laid . There are lights out along the track so that the move may be smooth . There is a sun set view point at the enterance at a heightened location . There is an eatery/restaurant at the entrance where you can grab snack before you set out for walking . Entrance fee is 10/- and parking fee is also 10/- . If you are in Hubballi and not sure where to go in the evening then this is a good place to explore .

I like to walk the talk here with friends and family. The environment of the lake is very conducive for deep introspection. Watching the sunrise or sunset gives me an exhilarating experience and makes me feel one with God and Nature. Of late you can see the water shimmering like silver if you go around 5:30 or 6:00 pm and makes the whole area look so calm and serene and beautiful. At the other end of the lake there is now a Buddha Park with a very beautiful calm and serene statue of Lord Buddha in sitting pose. At the entrance you will find the lake club, restaurant, lots of vendors selling eatables, and a big play zone for kids where you can enjoy with kids. Also, there are ducks in the lake which you can feed or go for a boat ride. There are plenty of things to do here. It has become an activity centre for people. All in all an enjoyable experience.

Beautiful and well maintained UNESCO world heritage site. Sprawling and curated lawns enhance and add to the beauty and grandeur of the site. Although Nagara style architecture captures one' s attention other temples in the complex are gems in their own realm. Wide pathways and alleyways along with proper description on pedestals of each of the temples in the complex add to interactive involvement. Ample security is provided so as to prevent damage to the pristine structures and artefacts. Well maintained toilets at the ticketing counter with running water and ample car parking space sure provides comfort. Tickets can be purchased at the counter or by scanning the QR code displayed there. The museum is not too far from the temple complex and is worth the visit.

A dream-come-true experience I can say. For the past 20 years I have been thinking of visiting this architectural marvel of India but for one reason or another I could not be able to make it. But better late than never. Once I got the chance i just gone there since I was so eagerly waiting for such moment. Some 21 kms from Badami, a small city in North Karnataka, and some 126 km from Hubli, Pattadakal is truly a legend in itself, and that's why I guess UNESCO has tagged it as World Heritage site. Going there is quite easy as there are buses plying from Badami to Pattadakal quite frequently, which takes an hour or less only. Bus will charge you 30 Rs from Badami to Pattadakal. There is a direct train from Bangalore to Badami takes some 12 hours. Entry fee to the site is INR 40 for Indians and INR 600 for foreigners. The fee for everything is clearly displayed at the ticket counter. Temple campus is very massive and the entire premises is well-maintained. The temples architecture is just amazing. Dedicated to different forms of Lord Shiva, all the temples are having Shivalinga installed inside the chamber. Beautifully carved-images on the pillars are really something that will hold your attention for long time. You need to spend time for long there to feel the magic. You will get immersed in the artistic marvel created 1000s of years ago by the great king Chol named Vikramaditya. For those who are creative writers or artists, it's really a great place to be. Don't read much but find opportunity to visit there. Summer is very harsh there so winter would be very ideal.

One of the best historic monuments dating back to the Chakulya era of the 6th century. Mostly very size sized stones used to setup the various small temples within the complex. Very intricate work and the shades of colors you see when sun light falls on the structure is a treat to the eyes.

Beautiful well kept monument site.
Entry fees applicable.
Takes an hour to see with a guide. Pooja is performed in Only one Shiva temple.
As it's an archeology site people are allowed to roam around wearing shoes.
Ample parking place.
Well maintained Washroom facility at site
Good local Food available around.

Marvelous place. Can easily spend a couple of hours. If you have time, then a guide would be good to get around and understand the subtle architectural elements.
There are different gopura styles in different temples. Ramayana, Mahabharata and various other splendid story carvings are found on the pillars and throughout the area. There is also Jain architecture here.
There is an entry fee to the temple complex. The place is maintained well and clean.
Plenty of parking space available. Good coconut water is available at the entrance!

The beauty is beyond description. I found it the most underrated place during my hampi visit . Well maintained and one will totally lost in its beauty. It's a compound of clusters of temples. Virupaksha temple and its nandi will take u to the ride of divinity . One must visit this place.

The place is very well maintained by ASI and very clean. There us a certain calmness when visiting the temples.
The crowd is not allowed sit on lawn by security but it will be very comforting to visitors.
The only thing that was very annoying that there students doing drawing all over place and they left very little access to places ignoring everyone. They should be allowed but there must be rules for them so that they allow general tourist to enjoy the place as well.

Beautiful place, very well maintained. The garden and inner area is very clean and pleasing to the eyes. The temples here belong to different eras and are more than 1500 years old. Virupaksha temple is the only active temple here.

One of the ancient historic site in Karnataka displaying the temple architecture built sometime during 8th century. The kings of those period and those sculptures deserve a special place in our history for leaving this behind for our generation to witness their work. It is our duty to preserve such historical monuments. No need to say that still there's lot to see around if you spend time enough to see.

There are buses from Badami to Pattadakal at 45mins to one hour interval. If you are planning to visit Aihole also by bus then please enquire the correct timing with locals as the frequency is very less.

Going to Belgaum is incomplete without visiting it's less travelled beautiful places and a place in our bucket lists was Gokak falls,
It is a 2.5 hour drive from belgavi city. Driving through the village roads and through lush green fields of rice and sugarcane was an very good rural experience,on reaching there we were happy to see the Falls from a hill,in the summer months the flow of water is less. One of the exciting thing about visiting the waterfall is not just seeing it but walking through the river by a walking cable Bridge,I can say the bridge is quite sturdy and strong. The bridge was closed and wasn't open because of pandemic BUT i hope the belgavi government opens the brige for visitors post pandemic. We managed to walk through the bridge later we went down the rocks to cross the cool streams of water and feel the scenic beauty of the fall.
It was one of a kind Experience after all!

Gokak Falls is 6 km away from Gokak town and gets its name from the Goki trees found in abundance in these areas. It resembles the Niagara Falls due to its features like the fall, shape etc. Here, River Ghataprabha takes a leap of 52 metres over the sand-stone cliff amidst a picturesque gorge of the rugged valley, making a beautiful sight. This place has the credit of generating electricity for the first time in the country in about 1887. A prime attraction of the Gokak Falls is the hanging 200-m-long bridge that lies 14 m above the bedrock. Tourists can also visit monuments on both sides of the rocky gorge which include temples of Goddess Durga, Lord Shanmukha and Lord Mahalingeshwara built in the traditional Chalukyan style of architecture.
Reasons to visit Gokak Falls:
Hanging Bridge: Built across the river, 200 meters long, gives an elevated view of the falls.
Lord Mahalingeshwara Temple, built-in Chalukya style architecture.
Kemple Park botanical gardens
Yogi Kolla hiking: A popular trekking destination 3 kms from the falls.
Mallaprabha Boating: Boating options in Markandeya river, 8 kms from the Falls
More temples: such as Yogikolla Mallikarjuna Temple, Kariyamma Temple, Laxmi Temple, Hanuman Temple n more.
Nearby: Godachinmalki waterfalls (13 kms from Gokak Falls) and Saundatti Yellamma (73 kms) are often visited along with the Falls.
How to reach Gokak Falls: The Falls is 622 kms from Bengaluru and 62 kms from Belagavi. Belagavi is the nearest airport and major railway station. Belagavi is well-connected by air, rail and road to rest of Karnataka. From Belagavi taxi can be hired to reach Gokak falls.
Stay: Gokak city, 6 kms away, has budget hotels. Belagavi city has more hotel options.

Gokak Waterfall, situated in the Indian state of Karnataka, is a breathtaking natural wonder that captivates visitors with its raw beauty and serene surroundings. This majestic waterfall is formed by the Ghataprabha River as it cascades down a rugged gorge, creating a mesmerizing spectacle that has earned it the nickname "Mini Niagara of India."
The Gokak Waterfall is an emblem of the unspoiled charm of nature. Its sheer drop of about 170 feet into the chasm below creates a thunderous roar that resonates through the lush greenery. During the monsoon season, when the river is in full flow, the waterfall is at its most impressive, with a colossal volume of water crashing down.
The surrounding landscape adds to the allure of Gokak Falls. The verdant hills and the dense forested areas create a serene atmosphere, making it a popular spot for nature enthusiasts and photographers. The viewing platform near the falls offers an excellent vantage point to witness this natural marvel up close.
Apart from its natural beauty, Gokak also holds historical significance. The town of Gokak itself is known for its textile industry and historical landmarks like the Gokak Mills. The old suspension bridge, known as the Gokak Bridge, adds a touch of nostalgia to the scenery.
Gokak Waterfall is not just a feast for the eyes but also a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. It's a place where one can connect with nature's grandeur and find solace in the soothing sound of rushing water. Whether you're a nature lover, an adventurer, or simply seeking a peaceful retreat, Gokak Waterfall is a must-visit destination that leaves a lasting impression on all who behold its splendor.

From belgaum 2 routes are there, via Hidkal and via Ankalgi. Go with Hidkal only if u want to visit Hidkal dam else go with Ankalgi route for better road condition and less distance.
Rare tip : Entry to the view point have temples and one old mill also. Apart from this just opposite side of this across the river there is another view point which is not that maintained but the view of the fall is great from there. Get locals help to reach there.

Sinhagad Fort is a historic fortress perched on a hilltop at 760 meters above sea level near Pune, India. It features a memorial for 17th-century emperors and a temple devoted to the goddess Kali. The fort is famous for its association with the Battle of Sinhagad in 1671 and attracts tourists as a popular weekend getaway and monsoon trekking destination.
Great place to visit. It is very much crowded so I recommend you should visit it as early as possible. I visited around 8 am and it was somewhat crowded, so will recommend you should also visit around or if possible..before 8 am. Also the place is very beautiful with some amazing scenes, great place to visit with family and friends, and even couples can have a great time and enjoy the adventure.

Surreal, very calming environment. We went in the morning and reached around 9 am. The surroundings were very good. We were amazed by the beauty of nature.
Due to clouds it was difficult to see some things. Also you have to be careful while walking as things are not clearly visible due to clouds.
Recommend to read history before visiting the fort, so you can feel the importance of the place when you are walking there.
I don't recommend visiting on Sunday because there will be huge traffic jams as most of the people park their vehicles on the road side. Even when we visited on Saturday, when we left around 2 in the afternoon we were stuck around 1 hr.
Another suggestion is you can trek route, I did not go that route, so not sure about the difficulty. Next time definitely I am definitely going to trek to Sinhagad Fort.

The most famous fort for its historic significance as well as the easy travel there in the city of Pune. It’s visited on the daily by a lot of people as a part of their exercise. Sadly the whole fort is now covered with vendors selling food and chips and what not. There is no management for litter here which is disappointing.
The climb is fairly easy but there is easy access till the top by cars or local drivers who take you there. You have to climb the stairs and walk a little to roam around after that.

The trip is one of the best for me..
Complete foggy surroundings with rains in between, Just make it perfect for trek....
I visited it on Monday...
Moderate public with good light.
Drive carefully through the ghat and walk carefully during the trek..
Take a snap of the map at the beginning for a better experience, though there are proper guiding hordings in the way....
Just make sure you leave the place early so that you reach down early before night.
Try to start trek as early as possible.
Food is available sufficiently. Parking is no issue.
Take some cash with you as sometimes the network doesn't work properly.

First trek in my life. I went with a group of 35-40 people so I had amazing company overall and a lot of experts to guide me because I was a complete noob. Such a serene experience going up, we were guided by a bunch of cute little puppies until the way to the top. I'd recommend a good pair of trekking shoes with good friction and support so that you won't slip there. Be careful while climbing because there were definitely some weak spots throughout. Good rural Maharashtrian breakfast up top, amazing experience overall.

Nice place to plan an adventure day.. Two options are available to reach the fort. First by trekking and second by the road. At the fort, you can do a lot of sightseeing. For foodies, great local options are available. The only concern points are.. If you visit by own 4 wheeler, you might be facing a parking problem on a crowded day. And the second is.. Housekeeping in the area can be improved. If you are planning a trip for the first time, better plan a whole day. Really you can spend a complete day over there and still you will feel there is so much to do.

1. Better not to go in summer. Always try to visit in monsoon. Carry water, wear hat and go in the early morning 🌄 if you are going in summer days.
2. You've bike and car parking at the top of the hill. Sometimes it's difficult to find the parking. Still you've lot to trek even though you're parking vehicle at the top of the hill as it's very large landscape.
3. You'll find food shops at the top of hills.
4. Paid washrooms 🚻 are available but it's very dirty. I think it's not being maintained properly.
5. You'll find temples, samadhi, nice scenery, good trail for trekking.
6. Ticket required at the entrance of singarh forest area.

On 26/01/2024, a lot of crowd showed up as is expected on a public holidays! The temple management was completely expecting the same, was prepared for everything. Yet the rush was too much to handle as it took more n more time to do proper felicitation. Lovely place! I would love to visit again someday. Hopefully on a weekday with less of a crowd.

I heard about this temple from some of my local friends, so I was curious about this temple.
On one of my weekend, on the way to ma na pa to swargate we saw a side road towards temple, so we decided to visit the temple, on the spot.
The temple is very nice. There are two temples one is Lord Ganesha, with another is of Lord Shiva, looks one of the oldest temple.
Both the temples are well maintained, but the complex from outside is not maintained. The river just beside the temple is very clean shops of modak are there.
And they provide free storage space for your luggage there and shoe storage space is also provided by the temple.
The area in front of the temple is on the main road so it is rarely crowded but always crowded on weekends.

Ranjangaon Ganpati is one among the Ashtavinayak, celebrating eight instances of legends related to Ganesha. This temple's Ganpati idol was inaugurated and donated by the "Khollam" family, a goldsmith family based in Ranjangaon. The temple was built between the 9th and 10th century. The main temple looks like it was built in the Peshwa period. Nagarkhana is situated above the entrance gate. The temple facing east has huge and beautiful entrance gate.
Madhavrao Peshwa made a room in the basement of the temple to keep the idol of lord Ganesh. Later on Sardar Kibe of Indore renovated it. The idol of these lord Ganesh is also named as 'Mahotkat', and it is said that the idol has 10 trunks and 20 hands.

One of the Ashtvinayak located near Pune, the premises is right on the highway and has 2 parking spaces. One on the left of entry and one after you go through the main gate.
The premises were under construction when I visited and I didn't like the crowd management queue system.
The way to go to the main temple was very confusing.
After you are done with the darshan, to pick your slippers, you have to go through the security part again and then come back extra.
There is a park in the premises which is nice for kids or families to sit and relax.
On the outskirts, you have a market to buy local stuff like vegetables, eatables etc.

One of the lord ganpati in the list of ashtavinayak temples. Maha means big. Many people visit daily. It's situated just near the Pune-Nagar highway so no extra travel is required to reach the temple. Huge parking area but it's paid. A huge entrance area and structure will be identified from the main road. One extra building is added just to manage the crowd. They allow us to skip lanes by paying Rs.100 per person, this is little convenient for rich people. Not a good posture in the temple all should be treated the same. Some of the stone structure and pictorial things made. But disappointed with the management when they are not allowing them to see them and see other things like the garden and entrance part of the main temple. The temple has a big history but manageable is not up to mark. Must visit place with your family members and friends. Avoid the weekend to avoid the rush.

The temple itself is super impressive, with lots of cool carvings and symbols on the walls. When you go inside, you feel really calm and peaceful, like Ganpati's watching over you.
People come to Mahaganapati Temple to pray to Lord Ganpati and ask for his blessings. It's a really important place for them, and you can feel the love and devotion in the air.

It is really a very beautiful place, in the rainy season it gets even more beautiful view. Everyone should go here once.
The view from the lions point is awesome. There is a camel ride available for kids.
During monsoon you just get to see and experience the clouds and you will not be able to see anything from top. Those views are good for winter season only. During some it's too hot to go there.
They charge 50 rs for 4Wheeler parking but the no maintenance... It becomes difficult to drive on uneven surface as many rocks are there.
Place remains too crowded during monsoon.
Both points are very close tiger point and lions point and you don't need to park your vehicle separately.

Entire lonavala you can see from this view.During ancient times , this was located forest and lot of tigers and lions used to come to this place, hence then lions point view.

In March, the place is not that green but it is still beautiful.
Lion point is almost 15KM from Lonavala.
If you go early on the morning, it will be less crowded.
You will find one of the best and amazing sunset views here. Worth visiting here.
The view of mountains from this point is really awesome. It has a huge parking area. It's a paid parking, but you can also find free parking spots but they are limited.
This place has guided metal structures near the cliff. You can enjoy the breeze and take amazing photos there.
Near the entrance to Lion's Point, there are often local vendors selling snacks, refreshments, and souvenirs. You can shops around to have some nice tea and coffee or Maggie. It is a must visit place to enjoy the view.

Great view + cool breezy environment. Sunsets are amazing here.
Watch out for the expensive food that is offered here (Maggi for 100 Rs).
Quick tip: check the food price before ordering

It's good to visit with family or friends a tip make sure you don't wear anything light as there's lots of wind gushing you may see paper plates flying and if your luck is bad it may have left over ketchup and your clothes could get dirty. Pleasant to go when there's slight rain showers you could have an amazing view to see with cool breeze and yes hot tea with dew drops falling over you.

Great to go with family and friends. Beware of Monkeys and Cows, they roam randomly and monkeys might be hectic. Try Corn Pakodas absolutely tasty but it is a little costly. Watch the mountains down and the lake on the left. Really Great Experience.

At a distance of 12 km from Lonavala Railway Station, Lion's Point is a vantage point located midway between Bhushi Dam and Aamby Valley in Lonavala. It is one of the popular viewpoints in Lonavala and also among the must include places.
The view from Lions Point is majestic and panoramic. One would see dozens of small waterfalls, lush green hills, and lakes around during monsoon season. The sunrise and sunset views from here are mesmerizing. The wind is extremely strong at this place and it was quite thrilling to see many adventurous people get close to the edge to get 'that' living-on-the-edge photograph. The drive to the point is also equally scenic

The view from the edge of the cliff was truly awe-inspiring, allowing me to appreciate the majestic beauty of the Western Ghats.
The spot is well-maintained, with paved pathways and safety rails to ensure a comfortable and secure visit. It’s advisable to wear comfortable shoes, as there are some steep inclines to navigate. There are also seating areas where visitors can relax and soak in the stunning vistas.
The best time to visit Lions Point is during sunrise or sunset when the sky transforms into a kaleidoscope of colors, creating a magical atmosphere. Watching the sun rise or set over the hills is a truly unforgettable experience that will leave you in awe of nature’s wonders.

I recently visited lions point and the experience was worth sharing. What made my visit to Lion's Point even more remarkable was the presence of curious monkeys. These playful creatures added an element of charm and liveliness to the experience. Observing them interact with each other and their surroundings was a delightful and heartwarming sight. Just a friendly reminder, though: while they can be entertaining, it's important to be respectful of their space and not feed them. Timing is everything at Lion's Point. Whether you're an early riser chasing the golden hues of sunrise or a twilight enthusiast savoring the warm embrace of sunset, this viewpoint caters to all. I was fortunate to witness the sun's gentle embrace as it bathed the landscape in a warm, ethereal glow, creating an ambiance that felt almost surreal.

We visited during the weekdays when there was less crowd. One of the vendors helped me to park my vehicle in front of his shop and asked me to get sited before I could order something which was pretty normal as I was aware of this. We ordered Corn Pakoda which was served hot with tomato sauce. We had pakoda while enjoying the sunset.

2. **Access:** To reach Lion's Point, visitors typically need to drive or take a taxi to a certain point and then trek for a short distance to reach the actual viewpoint. The trek is relatively easy, and the journey is part of the overall experience.
3. **Viewpoints:** Once at Lion's Point, visitors can enjoy expansive views of the surrounding valleys and hills, including the deep gorges and the picturesque landscapes of the Sahyadri mountain range.
4. **Photography:** The viewpoint is a favorite among photographers due to the stunning landscapes, especially during sunrise and sunset.

It's advisable to check local conditions and accessibility before planning a visit, especially during the monsoon when weather conditions can affect travel. Additionally, the viewpoint may have undergone changes or improvements after my last knowledge update in January 2022.

Karla Buddha Caves are a historical site in Lonavala, Maharashtra that is popular with tourists for its enriching Buddhist experience. The caves were home to a monastery and are of great importance to followers of Buddhism. They are also a great place for a picnic if you wish to spend a day exploring the culture of the ages gone by!
A historical monument that is worth a visit if you are in Lonavala area.
There are 2 ways to climb the steps to the caves.
The easy route (if travelling by car or bike) is to take the vehicle all the way to the parking spot and then climb the remaining 150 steps.
The hard route is to start from the bottom and climb all the 300 steps.
There are shops all the way and the steps are shaded so the climb can be done any time of the day.

Caves hold rich history. Ticket is very cheap. 25rs for Indians and foreigners it is 300rs. If carrying camera then it is 25rs. Statues are not that well maintained or cleaned or preserved. Better care can be taken after looking at the crowd that it attracts.

It’s situated on a hilltop and view is mesmerising. I went in rainy season hence you can see some small waterfalls. But i doubt in summer season you will be able to see these much. Try visiting in daytime as there is no source of light inside the cave. You will be able to click some good pictures. No advance ticket needed.

Caves are beautiful but you will be able to see very few parts of it as other areas are closed and visitors are not allowed to go there. Visit is chargeable, 25₹ per person.
Not recommended if you are traveling only to visit this place, better to cover with other nearby places.
Note- Don't drive the 4 wheeler on a hill as you may get stuck in traffic.
The best way is to park 4 wheelers below and walk to the caves.

The caves are a good visit. There are 2 parts to it. The first one is a large tall cave with a lot of pillars inside. The pillars have sculptures on top. There are a few inscriptions too. I did not visit the temple so cant comment on that. The second cave has one section you can visit. It has stairs which lead to a second level with multiple rooms with bed like sections carved out.
Parking is available in multiple lots along the road to the start of the steps. Parking is not supervised so you have to drive around a bit to find a spot nearer to the steps.
You have to climb the steps a bit to reach the caves. It’s a bit difficult if you have toddlers with you. There are a lot of shops offering refreshments along the way so you can take small breaks.

The Karla Caves are a truly remarkable historical and cultural destination that offer visitors an unforgettable experience. The intricate carvings made by Buddhists depict various events of their culture, including the depiction of idols from that era, which is truly breathtaking and gives a sense of ancient history. These caves, some of which are over 2200 years old, are also home to the temple of the goddess Ekvira, making them a sacred and historically significant destination. The trek to the caves starting from the ground is enjoyable and offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountains, but for those who prefer a more leisurely experience, car parking is available and cars can also drive up to the caves. Overall, the Karla Caves are a must-visit destination for history buffs, culture enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. The combination of history and natural beauty makes it a unique and special place.

Very beautiful place. Once a Buddhist monastery, situated atop a hill. Now more people visit it for a temple constructed recently. This Buddhist monastery was built by cutting the rock mountain. It has a meditation hall, rooms for monks, and a gathering spot. There was a small waterfall also, a natural source of water. The carvings are intricate and detailed.

One the ancient structure remained in Western ghats of India which displays Buddhist ideology and their love for architecture in caves.
This might be one of the scenic tourist attraction couple of decades ago. The climb by stairs was pleasant and easy affair.
There is a beautiful waterfall just before the caves. Gladly it's out of reach of people.
But it's now marred by shops set on both sides of stairs and their encroachment extending till middle of steps.
There is entrance fee for caves of Rs. 50 per person along with parking fee and entrance fee looted by villagers. As the case with all other historically important sites, this one also is poorly maintained.
No informative signages, no direction boards anywhere. Our fellow countrymen have successfully carried out their responsibility of dirtying the place with all kinds of litter.
Washrooms in parking are filthy and not usable.

Due to heavy rain upper parts of caves were closed when I visited. Can enjoy watching a beautiful waterfall on top in monsoon season. Temple on top so on the way there are tons of shops selling sweets and food. There are not many dustbins to collect plastic garbage. If there is any bin it's filled with rain water. Because of this all garbage is thrown around and it destroys natural beauty. Parking fee is collected. Lot of crowd in weekend , planned space for parking is not sufficient. Overall maintanance could be better for such revenue being generated here.

Karla Caves is a historic place, You can visit this place while on the way to Lonavala—a beautiful structure created by a group of ancient Buddhists. Refer uploaded image for a detailed history of this place. These caves were built by Buddhist monks and used for meditation and worship...
This place is open throughout the year during the day. You have to climb a lot of stone stairs, which takes around half an hour. On the way, you will find a lot of food, juice, and water stalls. This cave is divided into two parts, one is the main cave, which has a large hall with beautiful stone and pillar construction, and another is a place where monks stay…
One more thing is that the Aai Ekvira mandir is there, which is exactly beside the caves. Generally, a lot of crowds are there to visit this temple. One can visit this temple when coming for these caves….
@ Ticket - Entry ticket of 25Rs per person and for kids, it's free. Shoes are not allowed inside the main caves…
@ Parking – Paid parking is available at the bottom of the hill. 50Rs per car and for Byke, its free...
Overall, very good experience and a must-visit place … Aai Ekvire Temple and Caves both….

It was a pleasant experience and nicely managed space.
The staff at the pass counter was courteous and provided the required information.
The other staff for the physical rides were very nice and had patience.
We were the last to leave as our car got some issues, while it was way past 9pm (closing time) the security guards were sweet to let us sit in the lobby.
Rides were good and best part about the place was the horses and the dogs.
There were two major drawbacks....
1) All the dogs in the room type cages was bit upsetting. One would get excited so the other dogs too would get very excited.
I don't know why couldn't they just let the dogs have an open big space.
2) most rides were free but the best fun one's were chargeable. I mean the tickets are not cheap but then even the charges for the other rides are also costly.
Hence a 3 star.
Overall, I enjoyed with the group I went with, but didn't leave with the feeling that I should come back.

The trip was super amazing all the rides is worth trying, specially flying fox, and swoop swing, paint ball, ATV and Buggy rides all were good, small activities such as - Archery, rifle shooting, crossbow shooting, net cricket and many more.. what we didn't like was staff behaviour and attitude very out spoken and rude when you ask their name they will not share they say their name Marshall, we faced this twice once in cricket net the guy was rude and second was at ATV ride the guy was rude they are locals from near by village so they feel they are in huge numbers and do and say anything. Completely managed by these people only so customer service we rank zero.. park and rides 💯% must try.. overall giving 4 ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ because for staff behaviour and rudeness manner less people but for experience 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐..

Della adventure park is a TATA owned property.
This place is situated at 12km distance from lonavla. Easy to reach location through google map.
After visiting lonavla/khandala you can try this place. The ticket price is very high. Book before a day and you get 30% off. Special offer for womens, 50% off on sunday, book before 1 day.
There are two tickets.. Day pass & Jumbo pass.
If you want to enjoy every ride & full adventure then jumbo pass is for you. For others day pass.
With day pass you get 50 excitements. Many rides/activities are actually good like Archery, shooting, cricket, air hockey, snooker, ps4, boxing, bowling, horse riding, dog walk n many more.
This place provides food options which are very very costly. Single person food for Rs. 850. Samosa for 350. Water bottles for 110.
And you cannot bring outside food. Big turnoff.
On weekends you have to wait in que for all rides. Weekdays are better to visit.
All the rides/activitied are unlimited unless someone is not waiting..
Please bring your shoes as its required for many rides and they charge Rs.200 for it on rent. Only parking is free.
It takes whole day to complete all activities so plan accordingly.
Ots a good place to enjoy with friends and family.
There is a chalkboard on first right turn from entrance, dont forget to fill it.

I visited this adventure park with my office colleagues as one day team outing. We were taken the day pass which costs 1500 per person with 50 activities included in it.
There are more than 20 in door activities included in those 50 so it really disappointed us. Also on weekends the crowd is more and for every activity there is a long waiting queue so it really takes your patience away. As part of this day pass they should give the two or more paid activities so that it will benefit their publicity. In my opinion they have kept so many activities in a small area so the people sits more in the waiting queue.
The food rates are also high but the food quality is not very good with less varieties in one of the restaurant where we had the lunch. The infrastructure they have set up is very attractive. The small children wil love the place.
Overall I would rate the place as 3.8 out of 5 stars.

Note- wait time for all the activities takes from 5 min to 2 hours as mentioned on their invoice when you'll receive and about which you cannot do anything at all so I recommend to plan the day properly to do all the activities you need to do.
Also food and beverages are pricy and complementary water bottles are only given in the summer so don't keep any expectations of that in any other season.

Day pass rides were good. Nice place to hang out and spend quality time with family and friends.

The place is amazing and fun packed for adventure loving beginners. Everything was safe, well organised and properly managed as far I interacted with.
Do go to this place on Weekdays and not on weekends, as it will packed with lot of people and large queue on every ride. Also I would recommend going with 2000Rs ticket as that has enough rides one would need to enjoy the day and you won’t be able to cover everything in the same day. So think wisely :)

To have thrill and adventure this is recommended place. They have 50 plus activities including, zip line 10 seconds and 35 seconds, rope activities, in door video games, archery, gun shooting, pottery, carrom, chess, dart board, ATV/ mud bike, trampoline bungy jumping for kids, rocket shooting and bungy jumping of 850 m for adults, rappling, cow milking, pony ride, horse ride, electric bicycle, bicycle, dog ride, rope cycling, paint ball, etc etc
There are different categories of passes you can choose one depending on your choice of activities, but basic is day pass which cover many activities and over and above if you want to so some activity you can pay and do it.
Its fun for kids and adults as well.

Do Not Buy tickets or stay here during events, its a complete disaster, very mismanaged, wrong rooms allocation, no chaira to sit on a new year 4 hour event, the rooms have started stinking of STP gas and are very old now. New garden villas are just large spacious concretes with no bathtub or jacuzzi. Food is super expensive, they charged for juices during the new year event which costed almost 10k for couple.

Had a great experience at the della adventure park with Jumbo pass. But i strongly feel one can enjoy an adventure pass as well. It was less crowded and I could try all the thrills which I had planned . Would recommend people looking for a thrilling experience

According to the tale, Bhimashankar, the son of Kumbhakarana (Ravana's brother), sought vengeance against Lord Vishnu for defeating his father. To achieve his goal, he fervently prayed to Lord Brahma.
Charlotte Lake is a serene body of water situated in Matheran. This tranquil reservoir offers visitors the chance to explore wooded nature trails and enjoy picnic spots, as well as marvel at its small dam with beautiful waterfalls. Despite lacking proper restrooms for women, Charlotte Lake remains a peaceful place to visit, with crystal clear water and scenic views that are best enjoyed during monsoon and winter seasons.
Charlotte lake in Matheran looks stunning during monsoon. Enjoy being very close to nature and away from hustle bustle of the city. Carry raincoats must as you won't be able to hold umbrella due to speedy wind and your umbrella will get damaged.

Very Peaceful and Wonderful Place. The only negative fact is that it does not have proper restrooms for ladies. The restroom that are there have a poor structure and the other ones are locked.

Charlotte Lake is a known picnic spot and holds a top position in best Matheran places to visit. You can also enjoy bird watching here with your family and friends. It is a very peaceful and quiet place during the week but gets quite crowded on weekends like the rest of Matheran. It is a fairly easy walk of almost 2km from the market area.

Awesome place to spend the evening. Spending the evening is blissful. There is a lord Shiva temple and that is one of the best. The water, the greenery and sunset is out of the world. Must visit place. Returning back to market is a challenge as there are dust, horse and darkness.

Charlotte Lake is a beautiful lake in matheran. Water of Lake flows very slowly. Breeze creates ripples on water which is very soothing to eyes. On one side of the lake you can sit near the lake & dip your legs in the ice cold water of the lake. The lake is far from the market area so it takes 30 minutes to reach there. On the way to Charlotte lake, you will see a bungalow with a lot of black & white idols inside it & a lot of vintage looking furniture spread inside the compound of the bungalow.
Malshej Ghat, situated on the route from Kalyan to Ahmednagar, is a picturesque mountain pass in the Western Ghats that offers breathtaking views of nature and an abundance of bird species. The road is only two lanes wide throughout with one carriage way each side, but it has excellent conditions for most parts. It features clearly marked viewpoints with ample parking space where visitors can take pictures and enjoy refreshments like maggie, lemon sharbat or tea.
A nice place with beautiful green green panoramic views and waterfalls.. A 2-3 hours drive from Mumbai will take you to this place..
During monsoon time it will be a more beautiful for sure.. A perfect weekend destination if you like to explore the places.
Strongly recommends!!

It's one of the popular and worth the hype kind of one day monsoon gateaway near Mumbai.
Basically a ghat which has a series of waterfalls (small and big) enroute to Pune/Ahmednagar from Murbad/Kalyan.
You can park your vehicle aside on the road and enjoy the scenic picturesque beauty. Also there are multiple photography points to caputure the beautiful landscape of clouds covering the mountains in valley. There are multiple shops for Maggi and Tea/Coffee.
To stayover there are multiple resorts nearby and network over here can be an issue so please carry cash.
Best time to visit is during monsoon and one may start early in the morning to avoid crowd. It might be a dissappointment if it's sunny so better to check weather forecast before heading out to this place.

Please note this road is only 2 lanes through out, one carriage way each side.
Superb place. Amazing ghat road. No traffic like the Mumbai - Pune route. Travelled in Dec... this place would be heaven on earth in the rainy season. The roads have been great for most part.
There are 3 or 4 points where you can wait and take pictures. Clearly marked out, has some parking space and amazing views. You can get maggie / lemon sharbat / tea here. Before and after the ghat there are enough restaurants.

Anyone could fall in love with the amazing views of malshej ghat. Although to reach there it's quite difficult and risky specially in rainy season traveling by road gets more difficult. But with precautions and safety, the nature lovers can come and enjoy this beautiful views of mother nature in all angles. You get to see the roads to heaven which surrounds itself with a greenary of mountains, small waterfalls, rivers throughout the malshej. From tourism management we have photo points everywhere throughout malshej to click pictures and enjoy the best view from best points. also we can have a snacks at top hill point with varities of Maggie, bajji, chai etc.

Best ghat to visit in any time of year. But it's best when you visit in Mansoon season. A curvy roads and small tiny tunnel in ghat. A nature lover as well as riders both can enjoy the view as well as driving. This ghat connect kalyan to ahmednagar, pune, aurangabad.

Ghat is amazing and also preserved by government of Maharashtra.
Cops are available everywhere and everytime.
Although it's a good place for those who love mountains but also with traffic.
Weekends can be chaotic.

This is a must place to visit in monsoon possibly with your own vehicle. But make sure before visiting that the Ghat is not closed due to landslides. We have visited number of times, but again visited on 1st July-2023. The climate was pleasant, excitement starts the moment you cross Murbad. Taking halt on ghat at various places to enjoy waterfalls and getting wet in it is a common activity. Eating street foods like Bhajias, Maggi, Omelette, corn with tea adds feather to the cap. Final destination is MTDC resort point and having lunch etc at Flamingo Restaurant. We were walking in the clouds and visibility was nothing beyond 15/20 feet. If there are no clouds, you can see a reverse waterfall from here. Overall a experience not to be missed.
Precautions: Do not carry any alcoholic beverages, there is always a Police check and alcohol is not allowed. Be careful when you go under waterfalls and or enter springs as stones are slippery.

Must visit place for nature lovers. All Your fantasies of waterfalls will be met. There is no long Trek to waterfalls as some even drop literally on the road itself cleaning the vehicle for free. Sundays are really crowded. My advice is to avoid it. All kinds of waterfalls are present. There is even a reverse waterfall where due to heavy wind water never reaches the ground but is swept away by wind. Truly mesmerizing scene to watch if you have never seen one before. Some waterfalls have steel barbed wires stopping any stones from falling. My advice is to go to such waterfalls to get wet and enjoy the water. Parking is not an issue for both cars and bikes. A large number of restaurants are available. Roadside eateries selling tea, Maggie, corn and whatnot are plenty in number that too at a very reasonable price. You can't count the total number of waterfalls as there are really too many of them in all shapes and sizes. Kids , old and young everyone will enjoy.

Sai Baba’s early years are a mystery. Most accounts mention his birth as a Hindu Brahman and his subsequent adoption by a Sufi fakir, or mendicant. Later in life he claimed to have had a Hindu guru. Sai Baba arrived in Shirdi, in the western Indian state of Maharashtra, about 1858 and remained there until his death in 1918.
At first denounced by the villagers of Shirdi as a madman, by the turn of the century Sai Baba had a considerable following of Hindus and Muslims, attracted by his compelling teachings and his performance of apparent miracles, which often involved the granting of wishes and the healing of the sick. He wore a Muslim cap and for the better part of his life lived in an abandoned mosque in Shirdi, where he daily kept a fire burning, a practice reminiscent of some Sufi orders. Yet he named that mosque Dvarakamai, a decidedly Hindu name, and is said to have had substantial knowledge of the Puranas, the bhagvatgita, and various branches of Hindu thought. Sai Baba’s teachings often took the form of paradoxical parables and displayed both his disdain for the rigid formalism that Hinduism and Islam could fall prey to and his empathy for the poor and diseased.
Shirdi is a major pilgrimage site, and other spiritual figures like Upasani Baba and Meher baba credited the teachings of Sai Baba. In the late 20th and early 21st century Sathya Sai Baba claimed to be his incarnation.

Everything is fine here. Do not buy Prasad to Darshan Shirdi Temple. Nothing is allowed inside the Temple. It's a Scam of selling Prasad things at extremely highest price, minimum 500 times higher. Do Darshan come out and buy from roadside shops, if anything to buy.
Senior Citizens separate entry is available, but need to check timings. You can buy tickets for Darshan. Darshan can be done without tickets too.

Blessed by the grace of Sai Ram, we finally got the chance to visit Shirdi. Mobile phones are not allowed inside Shri Saibaba Darshan Queue complex. Mobile locker available at Rs 5 per mobile and free shoe, chappal stands available. Before heading to the mandir on the street, kindly navigate your way through the situation with a polite deflection from any unnecessary purchases. As I stood in line for Darshan, the sight of Sai Baba's idol filled me with a sense of peace and gratitude. The rhythmic chants during Aarti echoed through the sacred space, creating an atmosphere of devotion that enveloped the entire SaiNagar. The complex was so beautifully well maintained and clean. Very pleased to visit The Dixit Wada Museum. Baba’s robe, clothes, chappals, water pots, grinder and other artifacts are so well conserved. Thanks to Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust for their hardwork and commitment. Next to Samadhi mandir there is Gurusthan, sacred Neem tree, Ganesh mandir, Shani mandir, Shiva Lingam, Nanda deep, Baba’s followers samadhi inside the complex. Also visited Dakshin mukhi Hanuman Mandir, Dwarkamai, Dhuni, Shree Chavadi which are located nearby but outside the complex. Lastly explored nearby sansthan shops to buy Prasad. Purchased some gift items from nearby wholesale shops. At evening we visited the beautiful and picturesque “I Love Saibaba” garden. Om Sai Ram.

Had good dharshan for all the 3 days. We booked for Shej Aarti in advance. We were one of the early birds and waited in line among the first 30 devotees. When we reached the entrance they stopped us for 10 minutes. Once we were allowed inside we were surprised that the hall is jam packed with devotees. But we managed to get a good Dharshan. The guards are breaking the line on their whims. Because of that Late comers in the line are getting priority. Instead of FIFO it is LCFO. At least some senior persons in their hierarchy should supervise line control. Man proposes and God disposes🙏🙏🙏
