Beautifully landscaped man-made lake with swans that live there year-round along with ducks and you can feed them as well. We visited on Mountain day it was not very busy and we got lucky because the Lotus blossoms were in bloom. Nice and quiet peaceful place to walk and observe Nature's Beauty. Also dog friendly just mind your manners.

Lovely little lake where plenty of water birds come to visit, including swans. You can feed the birds for 100¥ too. It is quiet, peaceful and very relaxing as well.

There are lots of ducks here. You will also see swans. They are welcome you to have pictures together. They come together in one direction especially when it is feeding time. You can hear their talking and singing which is depend on your mood. You may see some flying in the sky. The place has plenty of parking spaces, and it is free for entry.

A nice experience to see so many swans. Have to come around end of the year or beginning of the year, so that you enable to see the swans here. You also can buy swan’s food at the counter which cost 100yen per packet.

Good place to visit when temperatures are cooler. Although in summer, the lake is filled with lotus plants and is beautiful, but there's probably not enough shade for large groups of people.
Manosi Chatterjee — Google review
Spacious lake with quite a few ducks and some swans. Picturesque Sakura blossoms in the spring, as well.

Lake Hyōko

Lake Hyōko is a serene body of water spanning 20 acres, serving as a protected bird sanctuary for a large population of swans and ducks. Annually, the birds migrate northwards around mid-March and return in October. The sanctuary boasts an impressive 6000 birds at times, along with cherry blossoms blooming brightly in mid-April. Additionally, visitors can look forward to direct sales outlets selling local produce and feeding opportunities at around 9am and 3pm.
Definitely a must- go experience if you are visiting Niigata, it is only 30mins by car from Niigata town center. If you want to see the swans flying off, go just before sunrise. In my case, sunrise was 6:55am, I arrived at 6:45am, some of them woke up and some still sleeping, very noisy indeed! Then groups of swans started to fly off to the rice fields at 7am, one after another for about 2 hours, then may be only 20% were still at the lake by 9am. If you want to see them flying back, the lady who works at the lakeside cafe told me the swans started to fly back from 330pm to 530pm. Feeding times by the park ranger are at 9am, 11am and 3pm everyday but it is mainly to see flocks of ducks fighting rather than the swans.

so many swans & ducks. Just sit & relax here. Feels good. Peaceful & fresh air. Small play ground for kids in the back. Also, there are some peacock as well. Vehicle parking & entry is free.

(Translated by Google) It seems to fly from the end of October every year and fly north around the middle of March of the following year. When there are many, it is amazing that there are about 6000 birds. When I went there, the cherry blossoms were in full bloom in mid-April and it was very beautiful. There were more than a dozen swans that couldn't fly north due to circumstances, and the ducks were swimming gracefully. There is also a parking lot, and there is a direct sales office for local vegetables in front of you. It seems that feeding can be seen around 9 and 15 o'clock.

(Translated by Google) I bought waterfowl food and was feeding it. I was surprised to see the swans attacking the ducks to monopolize the food. It was shocking that such a beautiful swan could be mean to a small duck... I witnessed the harshness of the wild. lol (Original)

(Translated by Google) I visited you around 3pm. I searched for Hyoko and ended up at the park's parking lot because I couldn't find the entrance, but it might be smoother if it was Shiratori Kaikan. It seemed like it was just the time for rice, and it was amazing to see so many ducks gathered. Unfortunately there were not many swans. I tried buying some food for sale at a building near the lake, but I couldn't feed it well due to the headwind.

Was closed when we visited. But still well worth the short trip out of our way. It's secluded at the end of a small road, near farms. Mush or the area has been overgrown with moss, but that adds to the beauty and wonder of the area. Not many tourists seem to visit. If you're in the area I would recommend stopping by, even just to have a look around the grounds.

Beautiful temple in a secluded, wonderful and very mysterious environment. Unfortunately it was closed due to coronavirus.

(Translated by Google) The oldest of the six statues in the Shonai region, the Honmei Kaijin is enshrined here, and is said to have the benefit of curing eye diseases. Reservations required (April-December 9:00-16:00), admission fee ¥500. I was able to hear directly from the very kind chief priest, Sama, who gave me a tour. The place where it was built is known...so a stone monument has been erected at the end of a nice moss path. You can also get two types of goshuin. Parking is available in front of the stone steps (information signboard). (Translated by Google) It is a wonderful temple that has not become a tourist destination. It feels like Mt. Koya in Yamagata. He is a priest who is protected by the efforts and kindness of the people at the temple. I feel that the decision to open it to the public was made due to the historical background. Since it is managed by a limited number of people, it is natural that we cannot respond to sudden visits. I felt it was important to confirm by phone before visiting. It is truly a temple that is the way it should be, and there are very few of them now. It is a sacred place that I don't want people who are rude enough to take pictures of the Shonin statue even though it is forbidden to take pictures. There are no rules that are acceptable just because you're a foreigner or don't know anything. I don't want him to behave in the same way that the Shonin who became a Sokushinbutsu is sad. It's a wonderful old temple. Suntopia World is an amusement park that offers classic attractions such as a Ferris wheel and roller coaster, accompanied by gardens and dining options. It is suitable for any group size or age range, offering enjoyable activities for everyone. The rides are exciting and the queues are typically short even on weekends. Opting to purchase a one-day pass proves to be more cost-effective than other available options, with ample free parking space provided.
It is a very very old park but the rides still work. If you dont mind a little creaking then you will be fine.

No matter who or how many people are in the group it’s a perfect trip. Nice people and fun activities for you everyone. The rides are a lot of fun. The lines aren’t long in the weekend too. Buying a one day pass is better. Parking is spacious & free.

Fairly pricey and needs lots of love and paint!! Lots of maintenance needs to be done to update the place and the rides although safe (I think) are quite dated. Lots of potential and worth a visit if you have kids under 10. Worth getting the all you can ride pass if you want to ride most things especially the bigger rides more than once.
