Enoshima is a must visit if you are traveling anywhere close by in Japan! The views from the cliffs, the rocky beach, the buildings, plant life, and bustling streets create an unforgettable experience and a unique atmosphere. There are many delicious food options, street performers, events at different times of year, and the cave and observation areas are also fantastic to see.

Despite of the rainy weather, I still get the chance to visit this island. From the Enoshima Train station, you have to walk on the bridge connecting to the island. It was really nice thou. You can see different seafood restaurants, souvenir shops and snacks below. Then, you will see stairs going to the shrine and to the Sea Candle Observatory. You can have a guide or brochure to help you explore the whole island. I had so much fun.

I love this place. In the summer the beach is great and in the other seasons a walk around the island looking at the ocean with a view of Mt. Fuji is an amazing choice for a sunny day.

Enoshima Island is so cool! There are some escalators but to get to the caves you will have to climb stairs. By the caves there are rocks you can sit on and get an amazing view of Fuji.

Nice place for sightseeing. Reach Enoshima Island just nice to see sun set. Here you can see nice views of mountains and cave. You can also visit Enoshima Shrine. Nice adventure and good exercise where there are stairs to climb up and downs.

Amazing place with some great folklore. It's a little far from Tokyo city but taking a day trip here is worth it. It's not a big tourist destination but it can get quite busy at times. Beautiful old island with lots to see and enjoy.

Great experience and walk. I enjoyed the sea view from atop the island and trying tako senbei. I looked out for hovering hawks. The walking street lined with shops was cute too. I highly recommend using elevators if over 45yo. Be kind to your knees.

We arrived late afternoon at Enoshima . Took a long walk on the bridge towards the island. We were able to witness the sunset but a bit late to enjoy the whole place around the sea candle. But happy that the weather was nice - cool air. *Japan

Loved it! A must see island in Japan, only 2h from Tokyo city! You can get to Kamakura station, then you take the train to get Enoshima station. Walk down the bridge and you’ll be at the Island! You’ll see lots of temples, shops, restaurants.. and amazing sunset! PS. If you are lucky, this is a good spot to see Mount Fuji!

Enoshima is a place that took my breath away, beautiful place and surroundings. Everything about this island is just so cool and gorgeous. You can enjoy the hawks flying right above you I only went there for a day trip from tokyo! I will definitely return sooner or later. Make sure you bring your swimmers too, you can go for a dip on the beach Highly recommended!

New Years Day 2024 at Enoshima Island was not a bad trip on a holiday in the Shonan area. I expected it to be way more crowded, most restaurants and shops to be closed and for the parking lots to be completely full / inflated in price which none of that was the case. Highly recommended over going to Kamakura for New Years.

Amazing place, at first the tickets seemed expensive, but in the end it turned out to be cheap enough for such an experience. Many different locations, English inscriptions everywhere. The animals look healthy, which makes me happy. I saw the dolphin show and diver’s live show. There is a cafe with a beautiful view of the ocean.

There are so many tank with diverse marine life, including several kind of jelly fish, dolphins, turtle. They also have mini outdoor zoo that have one capybara. Dolphin 🐬 show are interesting and fun. Recommend for the aquarium lover, for me, it is bigger than the one in Osaka. I just bought the ticket at the counter with short waiting line, the reservation is not required. Ticket price for adult is 2500yen.

It was a wonderful experience. Especially in winter to stay indoors and have a good time with toddler. All the touch exhibits were not available due to corona. And there is a beautiful view of the sunset and beach.

This aquarium is near to Katase Higashihama beach and there are many food outlets too nearby. If you have the Enoshima-Kamakura Pass you with get ¥250 discount on the entry ticket. It approximately takes 1.5 hours to take a look around all aquatic animals. And they have a wide variety of it. It would be great to take kids with you!

The exhibition is informative and engaging, and I learned a lot about this beautiful and life-rich coastal area. The main tank is like a large screen showing the ocean floor, and the jellyfish room is well-designed with colorful light effects. It is also a planetarium with regular shows for visitors. The outdoor area is home to a lot of sea turtles, which is a rare sight in aquariums. Their resting area facing the stunning Sagami Bay is a relaxing and perfect spot for enjoying the picturesque view. Unfortunately the Dolphin show stadium was under maintenance during my visit. Overall, Enoshima Aquarium is a good local aquarium for tourists to learn more about the Sagami Bay and for families to enjoy their weekend.

One the coolest aquariums in Honshu. They have over 15 exhibits including an outdoor dolphin show. It cost ¥2,500 to enter for an adult. Make sure you check the times for the dolphin shows because the seats fill up quickly. Some of our favorite exhibits include the deep sea tank, the jellyfish hall, the Sagami bay tank and the sea turtle beach. I have been here two times and I highly recommend you visit this aquarium when in Enoshima.

One of the best aquariums with so much varieties of sea creatures while the entrance fees still reasonable. They have many jellyfish types and I didn’t saw anywhere else. The dolphins show is very good and changing regularly.

An absolutely adorable aquarium, the wave fed rock pool was a very interesting site to see, the big tank was breathtaking and the dolphin show was super cute. There were carp feeding areas where a big carp gives you kisses as they eat, chill capybara, basking sea turtles, seals, otters, penguins, various fishes, an astonishing amount of jellyfish and bull shark touching pools. The cafe was nice, there was plenty of souvenirs and an adorable photo op with the Enoshima Aquarium mascot you could take home. 10/10 would splash again.

Happy to have caught their hydrangea event, unfortunately the dolphin show seems to be suspended until 14 July 2023. Overall worth the ticket price.

I went to see the jellyfish and it was a lovely experience, the added turtles, exotic fish and capybara also added to the experience and I had a lovely time. Fully recommend checking it out.

Little bit smaller than expected, but they have wide variety collections that anyone will enjoy. Also the ticket better buy online because on the spot ticket line are quite long (on the weekend). You can check the timeline on their website so you won't miss the dolphin show.

Well worth a visit. Great aquarium with beautiful salt/fresh water fish and jelly fish. Missed out on the dolphins, due to visiting near closing time, but loved every moment nonetheless.

Make sure you cross the famous bridge and visit Enoshima Island and this Shrine. So much to see and do as you move through the maze and surrounding walkways. After you walk across just climb the set of stairs to the top. The streets on the path are filled with delicious food and shops to purchase treats along the way.

I went for 初日の出 (first sunrise). Got to the shrine at about 11:00pm, and I was fourth in line. It was very well organized, and it was a cold night after the shrine visit. But it was a beautiful sunrise.

Absolutely loved it. Went there during enoshima toro (江ノ島灯篭). The vibe, scenery, food, and all. Tako senbei (octopus pressed rice cracker) was very good. We went there at night so not many restaurants were open but still enjoyed strolling around the island.

Such a beautiful shrine, I am impressed with the beauty of Enoshima Island. Everything looks straight out of an anime. We enjoy the view since getting off the station, crossing the bridges to the island, and walking through the island. This small island has so many things to do. I came here with my fiancé, we had such a great time!

Amazing shrine with lots to see and you can get great views of Fuji from the top on a clear day, even without going up the sea candle. Theres a few places to eat, plenty of shops for souvenirs. Be prepared for lots of steps but its worth it!

This place was filled with people, but not so bad that we were able to find a place to sit down at the top of the lighthouse! Beautiful view of the area from the top. Grab a senbei before you go up the steps to the temple!

This whole place is an amazing experience, and you could easily spend a full day here without realising it. Street foods are plentiful (though often packed), make sure you're checking the map as you're moving around as you can get distracted by other attractions. Don't forget the bridge crossing to go into the caves, but be aware of the amount of stair climbing that you will do

This is a must see sunset spot. I visited in mid-March and it was freezing cold with strong winds, but the experience was worth it. I recommend getting the ticket down and taking the escalators up as they provided a temporary shelter from the winds. Don't worry, you'll still get to enjoy the shrine as you go up. Be aware, that you still need to take the stairs down the hill. The candle itself is surrounded by a beautiful garden with a small giftshop below, but the prices for the souvenirs are rather steep. In the tower, you can ride an elevator to the viewing deck and enjoy the sunset from there. If the skies are clear, you can enjoy great views of Mount Fuji. There are also info boards that tell you exactly what you're looking at.

Yes It’s a beautiful candle 🕯 in the middle of the sea to visit and to get the awesome view of Mt. Fuji san . It has a beautiful temple and various attractions such as Dragon bell 🔔 of love 💕. Lots of steps are there to climb and walk. Lift is also available to the Enoshima sea candle. Walkable distance from the Enoshima station 🚉

Beautiful place to remember the stunning sunset view. The Illumination Garden is amazing. The night view of the island is awesome from the top. The sunset terrace arrangement is too good. There are kids playing area too. Must visit place during the new year holiday season.

If you buy the set tickets of Odakyu you can enter for free! It's a bit of a hike to go to the entrance. The views from above is stunning. Althought it gets a bi windy, the view and the feeling was worth it! In the night there is an illumination.

Worth the price! We bought it together with the escalator and because of that, we managed to catch the sunrise with no obstructions! The view up there was perfect and not too crowded such that we didn’t manage to get photos of the sunset. Worth the travel from Tokyo!

A must visit if you’re in the Enoshima area. Plenty of restaurants and shops around there plus there is a great view of Fuji at the top. You can take an elevator up there and they also have some stairs. You can sit up there and relax for as long as you want. Depending on the season you can see different flowers around there and illumination. Great view both day and night.

Beautiful place to come for a walk. The Candle area is paid, but even if you do not go in there, the small peninsula offers a lot of charm and temple to hang around for half a day. The night view was beautiful, ideally to bring a date. Some nice eating spots as well . To come here, take the train from Shinjuku Station (Take Odakyu Line and at Fujisawa Station change to Enoden Line). There is a sento, public bath, called Enospa worth trying (gets cheaper after 17.00PM, bring your swimwear to wear inside or you can rent it).

I vaguely remembered that I have been to here twice in the past, yet John insisted only one time in the past. Nonetheless, I like Enoshima. In a good day, Mt. Fuji is at sight, good quality pictures can be taken. Going down to the cave is always a good challenge on your return route if boat cruise isn’t available for the day. John and I managed to climb up, catching breath furiously, giving my 68-year old age. Nice air breeze at observation deck up on the candle, I bet my dad would have enjoyed his nap, sadly he passed away more than 3 years by now. John didn’t like shirasu しらす, he had the most famous 丸焼きたこせんべい taco senbei instead. One more nice day out to remember, it is. Not sure if I would be back since the steep stairway from the cave to candle tower could be a good challenge.

Came here for sunset and the sunset view was lovely. It is very windy up here and can be chilly/cold. I would suggest dressing in a couple of layers and wearing a hat/beanie… but i also saw all the local girlies in miniskirts and thin sweaters so what do i know. During the day, the views are nice but not as impressive as sunset views. U need a ticket to go up. I believe the ticket is 500 yen, but if you have the kamakura pass or hakone-kamakura pass, you get 50 yen discount (lol). They do not advertise this so youre just supposed to “know this” somehow (even though the freepass website is cryptic with what attractions have discounts and how much they are). There is an elevator up so you dont have to walk up.

Excellent place to get great views by the Japanese coastline. Tickets cost about 500¥ ($3 USD) and allows you to gain access to 2 upper floors at the top of the tower. You are also able to see Mount Fuji out in the distance depending on the weather.

Paid the small price of admission for a ride to the top and the view. With a telephoto lens, I could actually see the Tokyo Skytree from the top. There are two (2) observation levels at the top, one enclosed and one open air. My visit was on a warm sunny day and the open observation deck was the place to be. All in all this was a worthwhile experience and recommended.

Beautiful tower with its lighting at night. You can see Enoshima Island from above, and views of Mount Fuji during the day. There are several store, food stalls, a playground and a large park. Worth a visit when in Enoshima.

The place is beautifully decorated with thousands of candles. Sea candle event is from 2023/10/14 to 2023/11/05. There will be huge queue to buy the tickets. There are two vending machines and one counter to buy tickets. Ticket cost ¥500 for adults and ¥250 for children. There are paid elevator to reach the top and we can opt to walk around 30mins too There is a souvenir shop, a restaurant and some food stalls on the top. The entry time is 17:00 to 20:00 with last entry at 19:30 for weekday For weekend the entry time is 17:00 to 21:00 and last entry at 20:30.

Went to this place with the hope for a glimpse of mount fuji, though it was bright & sunny, but was cloudy. Nevertheless, its a nice experience. Got to see the views from the top. Really beautiful. And super windy too! And if it's not too crowded, you'll get to sit and enjoy the view and breeze.

Really cool cave that was created from wave erosion on the backside of Enoshima Island. Lots of stone historical objects that are part of the cultural heritage of the Island. In the back of the cave there is a large dragon statue known as the "Heavenly Maiden" that has cool RBG lighting. It costs ¥500 for adults to enter and it's worth your time if you get the chance to visit.

An experience that is definitely worth trying! Explore the beautiful cave by candle light, they even provide LED candle lights for the kids. We were lucky because we came when the illuminations were on. Highly recommended.

It's a small cave but still worth to pay a visit. I enjoy the walkway with candles on the sides. There's a booth where you can rent a candle but i dont think it's needed. It's not really too dark inside. In the 2nd cave, you'll see a dragon with sound effects. I wasnt impressed by that but the folktale about it is cool so that can be interesting for some people. I advise you visit the cave and be the judge. But overall, it was okay.

This was an interesting find that I didn’t know about. It’s a really unique experience that I enjoyed. Some parts are dark so they let you borrow a light. Also be aware that some parts are low so you might have to squat down. There’s all sorts of artifacts to see inside so check it out if you’re in the area.

The island of Enoshima is amazing, words cannot describe enough this island. You should follow the map to visit everything. If you follow the path, you will get to the two caves. It is well reserved and if you read about the history, you will be amazed. On a clear day, you can see Mt. Fuji from the red bridge; I suggest watching the sunset from this point when the sun comes down on the other side, you will see Mt. Fuji.

An excellent spot for Enoshima visitors. The cave's interior is captivating and spacious, featuring two distinct zones. The entrance fee is worthwhile, and tourists with an Enoden pass or other tourist passes can enjoy a discounted fee.

Breathtaking place with terrific views no matter where you looked. Exploring the cave with a candle really gives a lot of immersion. Very unique experience even for Japan. Could do without the clapping dragon thing though. Felt a bit tacky.

Very fascinating experience, it makes planning a trip to Enoshima Island definitely recommended as it is the highlight of the island for sure. The cliffside infront of the cave alone is worth coming here. There are two caves, lined with history exhibitions, the mandatory shrines inside, one of which is a dragon that growls when you clap. In one cave you get a cute handheld lantern and in the other are beautiful lanterns. The path between the caves had a part with cute chimes.

Not the best sight seeing place but if you come to Enoshima already then it is still worth to go for an mini adventure with the candle they provided!

Warning to people with disability or bad backs, legs etc: the cave headspace does get rather low, meaning some bending over is needed to reach some of the interesting parts. Was a unique experience though with a section that is candle lit, so I say it’s is worth visiting if you can. On weekends you will have to queue for 10+min to enter.

We can reach the Terrace Mall from Fujisawa JR line. Its a big shopping mall, good for shopping and foods. It has major brands and other shops with offers. Done great shopping at this place

Terrace mall is one of my favorite malls in the area. Very nice, new and big with lots of parking. There's a everything you need including a large food court, a hip outdoor area, gaming center, 109 cinema and tons of clothing stores to choose from.

Very nice place to pass the time and enjoy the views. The tickets are 200 yen for the park and 500 yen for accessing the Enoshima candle. But you can buy a day pass for 1000 yen which will give you entry to this place as well as some other attractions like the cave. There are hawks in this area which may swoop on you if they see food in your hands. The views from the top of the candle are amazing. The same ticket can be used multiple times to enter the park. I came to know that the city of Fujisawa is twinned with cities like Windsor , Miami and Kunming here.

Cool area on enoshima island right near the sea needle. A nice little park with great views. During the winter they have the illuminations set up which are very cool too. Nice day trip spot to go check out. Parking available on the island for a small charge and this place is about a 20-30 minute walk from the parking on the island. Worth the trip and walk very cool area to go check out especially during winter with the illuminations.

A great place to visit and definitely one of multiple excellent sights to see on Enoshima Island. It’s pretty big with a couple of cafes and nice seating to relax and take in the views. The flowers are beautiful and there are many different types. I would recommend paying the ¥1000 fee to use the escalators and it will give you access to other venues so it pays for itself.

Breathtaking view of the illumination at night! I really recommend going during the sunset, that way you can see how the garden is during daytime with its pretty flowers, while also seeing all the illumination lights from 5:30PM. The garden ticket itself is only 200¥ and I think it’s better to buy the bundle ticket of the Enoshima Sea Candle and the garden together because it’s only 700¥. Enjoy the views at the top of the Enoshima Sea Candle just right before sunset, and head down to the garden at night when the illumination comes on. You will not regret it!

when you're heading to the 'shima'-part of enoshima, the small island, you will walk past the ticket gate of that very short but delightful boat cruise. FYI: if you decide to ride that boat then and there, it will take you to the caves, from where you have 2 options. (1) either take the boat back to where you started, or (2) walk up the steep stairs all the way to the mountain top. the cave side does not have the escalators! if you want to take the escalators up the mountain, do so first and then climb down the mountain towards the cave and take the boat back after that.

A great option if you are somewhat tired after a hike across the island. The ferry is fast to get back to the main land despite a queue. You get to see nice views of Enoshima on the ferry as well. Visited in May 2023.

I opted the route by taking the ferry over to cave and walk back along the path to the bridge. This requires climbing stairs up to the top since escar is not available from the back. it is only available from the front which i will advise to do that

It's nice and large park. There are swimming pool, playground, large forest, small pond, and biking road near the beach. Very suitable for children. It is not crowded either. Recommended 👏

Super big park with grass area, park area, a small amusement park rides area and the "Jumbo Pool." Lots of parking but many surfers use this parking, too, so it could get full early on especially during the weekends and holidays. Events with food trucks happening almost every weekend (more during the warmer seasons). Great to bring kids and/or just chill. Lots of vending machines for drinks and lots of decent public restrooms.

Awesome place to spend a day with kids. Bikes are free to ride within the course; there's a section for little kids too. The little pedal-coaster was ok, tiring for adults but the kids enjoyed it. Since it's a paid ride, at least have the attendants wipe the handles after each riders to make it safer from the pandemic...

One of the best park with toddler and young kids. It has large lawn field and passage to beach. It also has some attraction, such as rent-a-bike to practice ride on a bike only track inside the park. Good for hiking.

Excellent area for a sunset! We had an amazing view of the sun going down with Mount Fuji clearly visible. It was awesome sitting by the oceanside watching people fishing, taking pictures, and watching crabs dart between the rocks. The caves below were also really cool, naturally carved by the waves. Definitely worth a walk through!

The end of the Enoshima island trail and the absolute best part! It's recommended to catch the sunset or sunrise from this area. You can also take a boat from near Enoshima station to here for 400 yen per person, but I'd definitely give the walking trail a try. It's a mild hike that doesn't take much energy or time but the sights along the way are worth it.

Saw some fisherman fishing, also very aesthetic spot to take pictures and enjoy the sea breeze and waves crashing onto the shore.

Make sure you cross the famous bridge and visit Enoshima Island and this Shrine. So much to see and do as you move through the maze and surrounding walkways. After you walk across just climb the set of stairs to the top. The streets on the path are filled with delicious food and shops to purchase treats along the way.

I went for 初日の出 (first sunrise). Got to the shrine at about 11:00pm, and I was fourth in line. It was very well organized, and it was a cold night after the shrine visit. But it was a beautiful sunrise.

Absolutely loved it. Went there during enoshima toro (江ノ島灯篭). The vibe, scenery, food, and all. Tako senbei (octopus pressed rice cracker) was very good. We went there at night so not many restaurants were open but still enjoyed strolling around the island.

We enjoy the view since getting off the station, crossing the bridges to the island, and walking through the island. This small island has so many things to do. Amazing shrine with lots to see and you can get great views of Fuji from the top on a clear day, even without going up the sea candle. Theres a few places to eat, plenty of shops for souvenirs. Be prepared for lots of steps but its worth it!

This whole place is an amazing experience, and you could easily spend a full day here without realising it. Street foods are plentiful (though often packed), make sure you're checking the map as you're moving around as you can get distracted by other attractions. Don't forget the bridge crossing to go into the caves, but be aware of the amount of stair climbing that you will do

Absolutely beautiful Nichiren temple with a pagoda and a statue of the Buddha donated from India. Buddhist monk and order founder Nichiren was to be put to death by the Kamakura shogunate when lightning saved him, and one of his disciples later build a temple on the spot in 1337. They do a fantastic bamboo lantern lightup the first weekend of August with over 5000 bamboo lanterns. It is conveniently located next to the bus stop and only a short walk from the monorail and Enoden Station.

Flea market at Ryuko-ji is small but if you have time to explore you may stumble upon interesting find such as this wooden vase and lacquerware

The Lantern festival on 29th and 30th Oct with around 3000 bamboo lanterns It lit up all around the shrine... And very beautiful

A wonderful stretch of beach from Enoshima to Tsujido. You’ll see plenty of sunshine, sea and surfers. There are plenty of places to sit along the beach so that you can enjoy the Pacific Ocean any time of the year.

Lovely beach. Very very hot sand though, bring appropriate shoes. I'm an adult and the sand was almost unbearable to walk on for me! Gets better closer to the water obviously. No umbrellas so bring your own shade. In the parking deck there are bathrooms and a nice are to wash off at. Tons of good restaurants close also.

Large parking space in very crowded area. It is close to Enoshima aquarium as well as the Enoshima free coastal area and shops. The park is very expensive in holidays as it cost three thousand yen per one day which is very expensive comparing to other famous and crowded areas.

Incredible place to see Mt Fuji on a clear day. Especially during sunrise and sunset, it’s like a whole different world. Super accessible from Tokyo and a must visit if you can’t make it out to Mt Fuji.

Very nice long black sand beach with a lot of wind and waves for surfers and wind surfers. Nice to evade the city and easily accessible by train. The aquarium is a good activity and so is visiting Enoshima.

It is a fantastic place to plan a 1 day visit near tokyo, enoshima island & beach have a beautiful view. No water sports in Dec month, so pls check for that before planning your trip.

To those who going to the dragon love bell, unfortunately it is broken. I not sure what the causes of it.

This dragon love bell can be found only on uphill hitachi coastal garden. Everyone can wish along with their love ones on this wishing bell. I am amazed by the view of cochlea bushes that turn red in autumn. Not only for this kind , but a lot of seasonal flowers that bloom around this area that captivates both local and foreign tourists. Viewing wide variety of Cosmos flowers also can be spectacular during late summer and pre autumn. I wish to visit it again during spring to see what difference it will be to put on my photo souvenirs.. EXCITED!!

It was a beautiful setting in the forest, with wonderful views of the coastline. A lot of locks left by lovers, over the years. A nice little excursion after a great day so sightseeing on Enoshima Island.

Unique & sweet couples' activity on visit to Enoshima. Ring the bell together and make a wish. Preserve a lasting memory on a lock or on ema which you can later re-visit. The hike up can be crowded but is lined with fun shops, vendors/food, restaurants, and nature. At the top there is a great view the surrounding areas and Mt Fuji.

Nice place overlooking the ocean. There's a selfie stand to take video and pics of yourself in front of the bell with your camera. You can also walk around the area behind the bell. There are tables to sit at and enjoy nature.

It was wonderful! I saw cats and found a Stickbug. 10/10. Right in front of the trail that leads to the Love bell, there was a local woman selling cucumbers on a stick, I fell in love with her. Very much enjoyed!
