Visited Kobe in September for my birthday and made sure to walk as much as possible, fuelled by delicious food with friends and visiting convenience stores when I was solo. The shopping mall was huge and a massive array of eateries, clothing stores and more. Very clean and tidy, staff were very kind and d helpful, every morning I was greeted with a smile and an hello ☺️ I only wish I could have stayed longer. Kobe has a lot to offer , both day and night

It's a cool looking shopping mall, but just that. If you want a generic mall full of packed shops, then this is the place! Anything you could need clothes wise, but not many food options and a little boring if not shopping.

The Kobe Harbourland area is best enjoyed at night when its absolutely gorgeous. You might as well sit here all by yourself and still not get bored. It's one of the must-do things on your list if you are sightseeing in the Kobe area. Without a trip here in the night a visit to Kobe is incomplete. The Concerto boat moored at the Kobe Harbourland area is a floating restaurant. It takes off for a cruise around the Kobe hat our area once everyone's on board. Most likely must reserve in advance and must be expensive without a doubt. Breathtaking views best enjoyed in the company of friends and family.

This China town is definitely not as large or impressive visually as some of the others I’ve seen in Yokohama, Nagasaki, or Washington DC, but it is still a nice visual contrast with the rest of the city. Nice variety of restaurants, Chinese grocers, souvenir shops, and everything else you’d expect from this kind of area. Also keep a look out for the Spiderman statues on a few of the restaurants.

This small square in the middle of Chinatown looks pretty nice in the evening with the colorful lights. The statues around the square depict the Chinese signs. There are benches to sit and take a break from walking through Chinatown.

Beautiful place to visit if you are in JAPAN KOBE 🇯🇵. I feel like I am in CHINA 🇨🇳. All the shopkeepers are Chinese 🇨🇳. They will literally force you to come and eat to their restaurants so be careful 😅. But street food 🍱 is yum 🤤 🍲. This is a kind of photogenic spot. Toilet is not available only available inside the restaurants . Better carry lots of cash 💰 because you gonna buy lots of stuff and eat as well . Parking 🚗 is not available and not free if you park it can goes around ¥2400 per day . Wheelchair ♿️ ok 👌. If you want to visit China 🇨🇳 in japan 🇯🇵 so must go place 😇.

Nice area to walk around with lots of stalls to buy dumplings or buns to eat. Very busy area that had restaurants and snack options every every couple of meters!

Everything you can expect from a Chinatown, lots of food options, all shops are sailing pretty much the same at different price so before buying from the first shop on the street I recommend to check every shop and find the cheapest (quality is same everywhere). Great vibes around, was good to have some proper chinese food in Japan!

If you want to try the Chinese food in Japan , you have to come here. This Chinatown is smaller than Yokohama Chinatown. There are many restaurants but foods are similar for example fried noodles, panda bun, dim-sum, pecking duck.

This is an area near Motomachi JR and Hanshin station. This is mainly an alley with many sellers selling their special Chinese delicacies. Not only that, at the center of this area, you can find a small Chinese building surrounded by several animal ornaments, may be figuring the 12 shios from the Chinese mythology. This is a perfect place for a Chinese craving food person, or you can just simply enjoy the beauty of the Chinese style with red lanterns.

Small but nice ambiance chinatown in Kobe. The food I think all same, pork bun, peking duck, etc. From here you can explore Kobe Motomachi and Ikuta Jinja within walking distance

I love the atmosphere here. I love trying different items. One thing that's annoying is that there's no public trash can. I ended up carrying all the trash with me. Kobe beef croquette was fresh. I wish there were more places to sit, too.

Lots of yummy food to try here. Especially butamen/steamed pork bun from Roushoki. It was so good , glad we queued for it.

The place is basically offering chinese food . Most of the stores sell similar stuff . The area is also not huge . However there is a shopping street just next to this place

Cool Chinatown with lots of different shops. Not too long, easy to see everything. Was a nice plaza area with a place to rest and listen to Chinese music. Lots of the shop keepers speaking Chinese rather than Japanese and some decent Chinese food markets as well where you can get spices pretty cheap. Wasn't too crowded in the morning, got a bit busy around lunch time. Great experience.

A fun, bustling Chinatown with lots of yummy snacks on offer. It's quite crowded but you can easily and quickly get food, just be aware that lots of the stalls sell the same food for different prices, so it's worth having a look and seeing where the best deal is.

Great gardens with amazing views over Kobe. This is one of the largest gardens - Nunobiki gardens in Japan. All around Japan, I've been to gardens, but none have ever left me feeling as inspired as Nunobiki. In addition to its 12 expansive gardens, visitors may tour the scent and spice museums, take in the creative displays in the herbal home, unwind in the herbal foot bath, make a pilgrimage to the lover's bell, and chow down on a lunch in a plaza that is modelled after a German castle. A romantic day in Kobe has never been more idyllic.The gardens are in full bloom all year round, which is even better. The season's features are listed on their website.

One of the highlights of our trip to Kobe was this Garden! Follow the signs in the Shin Kobe station. Up some stairs to the elevator queue and then inside is another queue for the ticketing office. The line moved fast and we bought the round trip option. The view up and down the cable cars had breathtaking views of the Kobe city skylines! At the top, lovely views as well. There's some cafes and resting spots to enjoy lunch or snacks. There's plenty of restrooms on the way down. Signs posted (some English as well) to describe the exhibits. The flowers were gorgeous! I enjoyed the selfie stands provided for photo ops. The snacks and coffee at the greenhouse are cheaper outside than the fancy inside cafes! I saw that other patrons were enjoying their packed lunches and snacks inside the park. it was a beautiful way to spend the day!

This is a fantastic day trip from Osaka. Allow the full day to ride the cable up to a magical garden paradise lovingly cared for by expert gardeners. Food options are varied and will cater for many tastes. Be sure to have coffee and sweets in the giant greenhouse restaurant. We visited in Summer and saw plenty of flowers in full bloom. This really is a great day out and should be experienced at least once in a lifetime.

A very aesthetic and relaxing place to visit especially on a date. I recommend going at night to see the illuminated city at top of the garden. The food was great but expect long waiting times because of how crowded it always is. Most of the food stalls also only accept cash so keep that in mind before going here. Also prepare to walk quite a bit if you go to this place.

The important part about going is checking the blooming info, we went in the end of March and most things are still dead. There are workshops that used to be fun before, for example, make your own nail oil bottle or make soap. They became almost twice more expensive in comparison with last year. Also last year you could choose the type of base oil and any aroma oil but now there is only one base oil and aroma oil choice is limited to 6 instead of 25-30 before. The explanation for the workshop is also very shallow, they give you a base oil but don’t explain what kind of oil is unless you ask. To save on aroma oil they ask you to write down the amount of drops you are going to use. I know shrinkation is going hard now but come on, making workshop much more expensive and counting drops next to you is above greedy. Despite the workshops getting not fun anymore, the place is beautiful and has a nice view so I will be coming back in a warmer season

It was a little difficult to find but getting to the top was magnificent. View of Kobe and the ropeway was also fun to do. Although we went there off season, you could tell this place is spectacular in spring/summer

Excellent value. ¥1800 at the time of this posting grants you a round-trip cable car ride and admission. It's a little hard to find it on Google maps, but it's right next to the JR rail station, no need to do any hiking. Cable car gives you amazing views of Kobe and the ocean. How you aren't afraid is heights! The gift shop here smells AMAZING. The lavender soft serve smelled very floral, but otherwise tasted standard. There's an essential oil room that has dozens of scents jars you can smell to discover something you like. The botanical garden is nice, I've seen better. In this place's defense it was winter when I went. I'm sure it looks spectacular in the spring. There's a "free" herbal foot bath that you can buy a towel for ¥100. Great after a long walk. There's a nice place to chill with hammocks near the bottom, would be a nice place to have a picnic when the weather is warmer.

I had a wonderful experience visiting Kobe Nunobiki Herb Garden, located in Kobe. Taking the cable car to reach the garden added to the adventure. The garden is a refreshing oasis, and the panoramic view of Kobe city from here is truly breathtaking. It's a must-visit destination for families looking to unwind and relax.

One of the best place to spend your day trip to Kobe. Requires an entrance fee if you're using the ropeway and it's the recommended way to go up as you can see the seaview and city view from above. Hiking takes more than one and a half hour from floor. There are two stops , one in the middle the other one from top. Both are walkable and within walking distances. Umbrellas are free to use when you had reached the mid of top platform. Plenty of gardens to look around as you expose yourself to the nature. Glass room available too which houses the flora from the tropical forest in the south eastern china seas countries. Recommended place for couples and families with child.

There is a Ropeway near the base of the Kobe train station that goes up to the Herb garden. At the top are places to eat and a few shops. The herb garden starts at the top of the Ropeway and goes down to the middle Ropeway station. It is a somewhat steep walk but very manageable. The gardens are more along the lines of a European garden and are not Japanese. If you decide to e walk down past the middle station you run into a nice waterfall. This would be a great several hour afternoon trip for a nice sunny day.

The gardens were closed. It was a bit difficult to find. Upon exiting the train station, I went to the "Koto no Hako Kobe" building and went down to the first floor, where I then followed the Ropeway and Herb Garden sign. The sunset view was barely seen. Sunset is facing the other side. Nice view of the city otherwise.

This is a fantastic place! Start by taking a cable car up to the top (2nd stop) where they have: a shop, indoor & outdoor restaurants, rose garden, etc. From the top it is a nice walk down to an intermittent cable stop (for a ride down to the base). Besides a large selection of flowers and trees there are: a herb section, vegetable section, green house, a place to soak you feet, to small (snack style) restaurants, toilets along the way, places to rest, another rose garden, etc.! A lot of flowers and plants are seasonal and replaced regularly. For example, tulips in spring & lavender is summer, etc. There are also places (benches) to rest, hammocks, picnic tables, etc. It is very easy to spend 1-2 hours walking about. On weekends (specially during the summer) the upper are is open very late for night views of Kobe.

Big beautiful botanical garden with herbs theme. For 1800 yen, tickets already covered cable car ride and park fares. City scenery can be enjoyed from many placed chair and hammock in the park. Many photo spots can be founded alongside the route, just make sure to wear comfortable shoes because the slope might be quite steep.

Lovely garden to explore. The cable car was very efficient and fun to ride! Hardly any queues too. It’s great to take it all the way up to the top then walk down to explore the garden! There’s also a veranda cafe where we enjoyed some lovely drinks. Great experience and beautiful flowers!

Absolutely one of the best spots to visit in Kobe. Beautiful views, flowers and plants. The cable car ride is great too. We were there for a few hours and had lunch at the restaurant located inside of a greenhouse where we had Kobe beef and delicious herb tea. There’s also a spot with lavender ice cream that was excellent.

Fun ride up and is peaceful - make sure to carve out about 3 hours to spend eating going down and enjoying the walk down. We took only the ride up and not the partial ride down and caught the beautiful waterfalls up close. I highly recommend taking the extra time seeing these sights as well.

Very wheelchair accessible, fun for kids, there’s a park with toys the kids could play with, there’s also a hammock for folks to rest. Great place to view flowers & autumn leaves. Can bring your own snacks or drinks if you don’t plan on spending too much on food sold there. Wonderful place to hike & plenty of areas for rest. Try the lavender ice cream, the kids loved it. Will definitely visit with older family & younger kids again. Suggest going there after lunch in the weekend so not too crowded, by 4pm, the queue for the railway tickets was already quite long

The Kobe herb gardens were surprisingly a very enjoyable and interesting experience. Be sure to be early as the queue can get incredibly long around lunch time. There is lots to see, smell and taste, making it a must see for any trip to Kobe. We were there at Christmas time when they had a German inspired Christmas market with lots of traditional German food and trinkets. It is reachable by a lift, which is a great attraction itself. I would recommend taking the lift all the way up, then walk to the middle station and go back to the city. The hammocks and the variety of things to smell were my personal highlights.

Nice little herb garden with a few cafes and a souvenir shop at the top. Round trip tickets are available but I recommend getting a one way ticket and walking down the mountain if time permits. Definitely a must-do if you're in Kobe.

The Herb gardens are a sprawling complex located in the hills above Kobe, accessed by a ropeway (or for the thrifty, by a hike). There are a number of gardens ranging from vegetables to exotics. Maps and signage are available in both Japanese and English and most staff seem to speak English as well making it highly accessible to those who don't know Japanese.

It is a very peaceful place with good views and nice flower gardens. I went there on Sunday morning and it was very busy at the ticket gate. Inside the garden, it was not so crowded, maybe because the size of the garden is quite big. There is lighting at night so maybe it looks more beautiful in the afternoon (I had other plans so didn't stay there all day)...

Nice covered shopping arcade spanning a long stretch within a straight street. You get a mixture of both local and international brands to fulfil your shopping needs, covering from retail fashion to shoes to even watches. Place is well laid out, with a wide walkway to give you ample space to browse even if there is a crowd.

(Trip was made back then on 7 Dec 2019, 2 years before the Covid-19 Pandemic hit) I remember our visit 2 years ago to Sannomiya and Motomachi Shopping Street. Even though it’s similar to many other shopping streets, I somehow like the vibe it gives out and find it very interesting. May it’s because it has an interesting array of shops, or that it has tonnes of patisseries, or it could just be the overall atmosphere. Whatever it was, it sure wasn’t boring. Both are located next to each other and only separated by a street. It’s a long stretch if you cover both together and it could take you the whole day exploring the interesting shops, some of which are off the main path along the side alleys. It’s a pity we only had 1 day to spend there, cause there’re still tonnes of places that I wanted but didn’t have a chance to try. Already miss Kobe and would definitely visit when Japan reopens again for travel.

Standing at approximately 108m, the red Kobe Tower stands tall amongs the vast blue sea and the surrounding white buildings - giving the landscape a nice kaleidoscope of colours. We didn't manage to go in as were short of time, but just being here is enough to feel Kobe's vibe.

The Port Tower was closed for renovation so check before you go there (October 2023). The port area is really beautiful. Especially in the night time.

Here is a nice spot to sight the view of Kobe city near the sea shore. The tower will be closed soon for big renovation and it is expected to be finished 2 years after. I went here yesterday but it was so crowded since today is the last operation day. The last time I was here I don't know when.

The most gorgeous views I ever seen from the towers. The front view is a port of Kobe with the ocean, boats and islands. Back view is mountains full of greens and houses, and all together have perfect view down the Kobe city buildings. Believe me Kobe is beautiful than Osaka view. Also in the last floor you'll buy suveniers and surprise balls. This is must visit place in Kobe

Awesome View! Kobe port tower gives an breathtaking view of Kobe city and the surrounding mountains it's good to be there just before dusk as you can see the day time view and also the night view as it gradually gets dark outside. Even the adjacent marine museum is a place worth visiting.

Need to buy tickets on ground floor. Then to go first floor to take elevator. The guide in the elevator would describe the tower to you. Awesome scene, last year we enjoyed the "rotation cafe" in the middle of the tower. It was round moving 360° for 15 to 20 min one cycle around. However, this cafe is closed... Not sure it re-opened or not now. There is penny coin machine, remember to bring some coins to go there or to use their coins exchange machine. Remember to make your own memorial coin. Telescope & gift stall there. Enjoy.

It is a very nice temple complex, certainly worth visiting. There is an excellent small forest garden behind the temple with some very old trees. A great place to sit and relax with a lot of fresh air. Very quiet. There is also a small lake with a fountain in the north west corner.

It was good. Very peaceful and relaxing. We did the Chigaya Ring Passing- through the Chinowa Kuguri which is a ritualistic movement one does before going into the shrine.

Located at the end of Iyata Road in the middle of Kobe city, this shrine encompasses all things peaceful and serene. Beautiful courtyard housing the main shrine as well as a lotus pond and a tree garden. Very blissful to just stroll along the compounds and take in all the beauty this shrine has to offer.

Easily the most beautiful shrine in Kobe, and fortunately, also one of the most easily accessed. Just a quick walk from Sanomiya station, meaning this is also an easy trip from Osaka or Kyoto as well. The shrine is large, with a small grove inside that creates a nice change of pace from the chaotic city outside, and offers a wide selection of goshuin stamps and omamori charms as well.

Shrine that focuses on love and relationship. Great area to walk around and make some prayers and donations. A good place to visit in Kobe as it’s pretty close to a subway station.

Nice shrine for a walkabout. It's a small space but plenty of tourists and locals alike. Souvenirs for sale too, if you like. There are a few entrances too and no charges so good for a free day trip.

Beautiful shrine in the middle of Kobe. It is a wonderful place to get out of the busy city and have a moment of rest, listen to the birds and walk through its small park behind the main shrine. When I went there on a weekday, it was very quiet, but it’s possible that it will be much busier in the weekends. There are several smaller shrines dedicated to inari, matsuo, Ebisu, among others.

This is a pretty beautiful temple located on IKUTA ROAD. Behind is a lotus pond. There are many restaurants above. and I went to one of the restaurants in this street. A pretty good entertainment and dining area during the holidays

Love this place. Such a beautiful shrine. The intricate detailing of the gold on the red coloured wood, and the roofs are stacked in a way where it is earthquake resistance, so why aren’t houses built with that tessellated patterning. It’s crazy how beautiful this place is to walk around.

We arrived on a weekday late morning and were lucky to witness a prayer ceremony in process, how a visitor dipped the flowery paper in a pond known as 结缘泉水. There is English display information boards for tourists.

Quiet day to view with beautiful Sakura Trees everywhere. Went on a Monday morning, most animals were napping at that time. Found out Tan tan (panda) passed away from heart disease March 31st 2024. Lots of empty stalls. Lots of memorial plaques commemorating animals that passed away. Most cats are not on display due to potential Covid exposure. No Gorillas or otters for multiple reasons. The facility was very clean and had plenty of bathrooms, seating areas, and vending machines.

Visited this place on our Kobe visit. The zoo allows children to enter for free and adults pay 600¥. Parking is 400¥. Overall, the zoo was nice. It was quiet, and it had a large range of animals to see. We came here on a Tuesday, and there were barely any people there at 12pm. The red panda and koalas were very adorable and it was funny to sit down and watch them walk on branches and do other things. A downside is that most of the major attractions like sea lions and polar bears had been closed, this isn't the park's fault (an animal probably passed away or got sick) but however the elephant's enclosure felt cramped, dark, and depressing so we felt a little bad for the elephant.

Kobe Oji Zoo. really enjoyed my day in the morning. Wanted to see the tan tan the panda but she not in due to diagnosed with heart disease. I wish her get well soon ❤️ 💜 ❤️ 🎍 There is a amusement park to enjoy but I didn't go. Looks very fun especially for childrens. Their is a shop and cafes down the road.

This is a local zoo which seems pretty old. Tickets are cheap and the target market seems like a family with kids. Regardless, this is a pretty cute place for a date. Many area which supposedly filled with animals are empty, not sure why. There are a lot of sakura trees. I believe it will be magical if we visit during sakura blooming. Unfortunately i went there when the sakura is not yet blooming at all.

Perfect experience!!! Little animals are out instead of in the cage. You can literally see them very close and feel the Mother Nature. They have many super cute but rare animals. I love they put cute rat and cougar at the same place. Japanese Ironic and cute!

Zoo and amusement park in one place. Coming here in weekend afternoon and had to wait in queue for the entrance ticket. The wait is quick and staffs are friendly. In the amusement park, several mountings are counted by another tickets, cost 1000 yen for 10 tickets. Unfortunately some of the exotic animals are unavailable due to age, renovation, or already passed away.

We had wonderful days time at zoo, my daughter who is 2 years old enjoyed very much. Been here 3 times and still need more days to explore. It’s so big, clean and well organized. Waiting line was quite long in front of the panda’s gate, might take your time. The last time we came here we couldn’t see the panda because of panda’s not good condition. My baby was little bit disappointed about it. I wish I checked it carefully on web before visiting, no wonder why the zoo was not so crowded as usual. The playground is interesting too. Don’t forget to visit the souvenir shop before you left, you might find something cute there ;)

Visited this place today. It was overall a good experience. So many animals to see. Just didn't get the chance to see my personal favorite animal "PANDA" as it was sick🥹. I hope he recovers from his sickness very soon! It's fun to spend time here with friends, family or your beloved one. For adults it will cost 600¥ per person. It's best to go early after 9a.m. as it closes soon around 5p.m.

Half of the animals were not there, but no information was said on the website. I do love elephants, so gained a star for them. I saw a monkey in a small cage in the sun.... looks like he was just left there and he looked very unhappy. A small cage in an enclosure? Direct sunlight too? Seems cruel to me. I did like the bear though. Just seems weird to advertise a panda but not have a panda...

We only went to rokko sanjo station and stopped at the tenren observatory. It was a chilly day and very windy so we decided not to keep going. You have to pay a few transfers to get up to the first observation point. We took a bus to rokkomichi, and then paid for the cable car. If u wanted to keep going, u would have to pay for another cable car or bus. The cost adds up. While the view was nice (and likely nicer at night or sunset), there was nothing immediately to do outside of rokko sanjo. The one cafe was closed that day… there were no touristy shops or trinket shops or eateries nearby (might be a good thing depending on who you talk to)… and i found interesting that the area around the observatory was unkempt - weeds and dead leaves growing. I just find that unusual given that other touristy spots are very well maintained and greenery is always consistently manicured. We went on a weekday and perhaps it is busier and livelier on weekends. Admittedly we did not venture further up where there seems to be more touristy things (a tourist info center, a garden, possibly hiking opps), but we werent sure whether it would be worth paying more to risk things being closed since we were there mid afternoon and the weather was not super permitting.

Hike all the way from Ashiya station to the peak, came in the wrong time (?) can't see anything and the teahouse is closed, luckily got some vending machine there to buy some hot drink to warm up. Going back through the same way, overall a pleasant hike.

Starting from one side of the mountain and hiking towards Arima Onsen is you best bet. Try not to do it the opposite and follow through with the hike to a train station. Don't use a bus, they are a pain in the nuts to ride lol. Buses are expensive and you can get motion sickness from them turning left and right every minute. Kids were barfing in bags on the way back. lol! I recommend hiking in the fall, the foliage is beautiful and you might run into a boar or two, plus the insects aren't so bad.

Good place to have a great view of city. Also it’s fun to ride a cable car. We didn’t spend that much time here but it would be too bad to miss this nice view from the top of the mountain.

It is a medium-large side outlet with many big names here. You can also find a large foodcourt and other facilities that make you feel comfortable here. The one disadvantage is that the parking lot is 10 minutes walking distance away.

Best outlet to go compared to the one in kyoto n osaka. Lots of shop n brands. Most importantly only here have big brands and the shop is also big and stocked with many varieties to choose. Gd price with lots of discount

Many stores and a lot of parking space. However, the road just before the outlet after get off the expressway seems a bit danger (narrow road). Also, the food court seems a little bit too crowed and too small. Anyway, we love the theme of the shops here, and will come back some time when our pocket has more money :))

This is best place to shop ... way much cheaper than the store rate . Weekend may be very busy and many people. It’s 10:00 am to 8 pm. And they have food court also and many many brands like Gucci , balenciaga , givenchy , jimmy choo, Prada, adidas , Nike , dsquare2, diesel , rope and many many more brands . Must visit place . Very clean and free parking .

A decent outlet with various famous brands located inside. A relaxing area for shopping and some of the shop does provide good discount.

Not as crowded as I expected, probably as tourists have not returned in number. Taking inspiration from Los Angeles’s Pasadena outlet mall, there are about 200 shops. Discounts are good (70% off) in some shops, but most are regular price items or with small discount. Managed to snag good discounts from Champion shop with 70% discount. There is a food court at the northern part of the malls. Popular dishes including ramen are available.

Good place to shop for all your favorite brands. Good deals and tax free available for tourist. Place is clean and love the fact it's not too big so it's easy to find the stuff you want

This outlet had a great collection of shops - ranging from clothing to daily utilities. The area was quite large though - it took quite some time from one side to another side. The parking lots were also just next to the outlet - just these were not covered, which means it could be quite inconvenient if it rains.

Premium outlet in Kobe around 1.5-2hr commute from Osaka. Couple of transfers needed if coming from Namba area so not as straightforward to reach. Not the biggest outlet mall but lots of good deals from luxury brands like Prada, Gucci, Loewe, Celine and Saint Laurent. Nice selection for various sporting apparel names as well. Food court is nice and walkways are mostly covered.

Great outlet in Sanda, Kobe. Very convenient to reach here by taking express bus from Herbis Osaka Bus Terminal. Mind your wallet/purse as you may spent a lot here for famous brands.

A charming zoo that offers a great experience for children and adult animal-lovers alike. It is right by the train station, so accessibility is good It is very clean and well maintained, and it doesn't have strong smells that is often noticeable at other zoos. The animals here appear to be healthy and well taken care of, and some of them have the option of being pet and fed by the visitors. Lastly, the udon shop here was surprisingly quite decent. Definitely would recommend.

I had such a great day at Animal Kingdom in Kobe! This all-weather park is based on the concept of contact with animals and flowers. There are many different exotic species living in large open spaces. Here animals can freely roam and you can walk among them! It's an amazing experience!🤍 The exhibition area reproduces the habitat of the animals, and you can see the lively appearance of the animals up close. The outside park is an open pasture, with animals like sheep, camel, alpaca, kangaroos etc… In the inside park there is a domestic section called “Contact Animals” with dogs, cats, rabbits that you can pet as much as they like. There are many other animals and you can also feed some of them! The cutest animals for me were the red panda, the Prairie Dog and the Ringed Teal Duck😭😍 I would love to come back soon!🥰

A looooooot of animals for you to see and even play with! I have visited quite a number of zoos in different countries and this one is the best one in my opinion. You can tell that they treat everything very serious - look at the cleanliness of the glass. Most animals don’t smell which is a mission impossible but they did it. It was my second visit and I can see that they are making constant improvement. We visited this zoo during weekday so there’s no queue and you don’t need to purchase a ticket in advance. Even though it’s a bit far away from the city and the ticket is a bit pricey, it’s still worthy to pay a visit!

Great place to see various animals! The place has nice interior design. There are 7 areas I think and each area provides different experience. Personally I like the tropical forest area since you can feed and touch capybara!!!!! If you want to have a full experience, you want to get there early as some animal touching experience requires line up. Also feeding animals may be stopped after the first round of feeding. ——————- If you are travelling from Namba or Udema try to get the package ticket from the Hansin station. It saves a lot of money!

We came here before noon and it wasn't that crowded yet so we got to see a lot without much fuss. Though after noon is quite busy with school kids. There's plenty to see here and will keep you occupied for a few hours.

I went to Kobe not because of the famous beef but this animal kingdom. The capybaras are all super cute and adorable. They are not afraid of human at all. So chill. Had such a great time there. And you can pet some of the animals. If you like nature and animals. This is the place you must visit.

This place is adorable. We loved feeding kangaroos, llamas, camels, bunnies, and fish. It was such a cool experience and the interaction at the zoo truly can’t be beat! From monkeys swinging above us to watching the soaring bird show, this zoo is a real gem.

Really one of the best zoos in Japan. The landscaping blends well with the animals and the experience is truly magical. Highly recommended for all and not just kids. Many animals are rarely seen elsewhere. Get your discounted train and entrance combined ticket at the Okayama portliner ticket service centre for a free round trip ticket (1800 yen in total per person).

The animals are so crazy crazy close! The park is beautifully arranged with a myriad of plants. Be careful not to miss even smalle beautiful l fish! Definitely one of the most fun zoos in Japan! Staffs are incredibly friendly! Highly recommended! Too bad we can only give five stars, six might not even be enough.

If you want to feed the animals you need to buy the food (around 100 yen), but everything else we did was included! The park was very nice. My partner and I were impressed with the enclosures. Definitely go here if you love animals!

It is not a outdoor park that you can ride on a cage truck and feed tiger kind of things. The animals are smaller but we can interact with them very close. There are outdoor that you can feed camel , sheep, kangaroo. Super big tortoise. It is a good experience and you need about 3-4 hours. We arrive at 1pm and leave at 5 something. It is good

Wow, Kobe Animal Kingdom left me with mixed impressions. There are areas where small monkeys and birds roam free. Some areas for certain animals are pretty spacious as well. The squirrel cage, for example. But then there are animals stuck in very small containers. Animals that would naturally move around a lot Wild pigs, pumas, smaller wild cats, ... in lots of these cages, the animals can't even see the sky. The sheep in the outside area live on a dirt plane with no grass, even though these animals usually graze in fields. The sea lions only have shallow water with no place to swim... Honestly, this park would be great with a couple of free roaming small animals and areas where social creatures have enough space. I saw plenty of kids quickly passing by the inactive and frankly, sad looking tiger, bear and wolves while spending much more time in the petting area, feeding birds and playing with the house cats and dogs. Also, the area with nocturnal animals is a sad sight to behold as well. The owls have no space to fly, the animals live behind glass in rooms with naked walls. At the exit, there is an owl tied to a stick so it can't fly alway. In the pictures you can see a nocturnal cage, the shallow water of the sea lions, the grass less area of the sheep, the small cage of the wild pigs and the view from the puma cage :(

Great for english speakers! Really cool animal park where you get to walk amongst the animals. Make sure you buy tickets online and look at the schedule to see what animal feedings are when. Easy to get to by rail, tickets are a bit overpriced but the experience is great. Good for families, kids and travelers wanting to see some different animals

Not a bad Zoo by Japanese standards (Ueno zoo was terrible), but still not great. Many of the animals had enclosures that were extremely small and lacked enrichment. Some of those animals off the top of my head were: - Serval (see pictures) - Sand cat - Tapir - Cougar - Wild pig - Raccoon (yes, a trash panda) Those animals looked very sad and stressed, or were just pacing their small space back and forth. I did like how the zoo had lots of vegetation in many of the areas, and many animals did have more suitable living environments (birds had much more freedom and space, as did the red pandas, see pictures).

ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE! We visited 3 different zoos during our Japan trip but this is our favourite!! You can get really up & close to the animals sometimes as you walk around the different habitats & there were plenty to see. Many interactive elements such as the rabbit petting & dog+cat petting (this one is really popular so if you're close to the timeslot, do queue as they only let 20 pax in at each time for approx 10mins). You get to feed the animals during feeding time and prices were reasonable. We really enjoyed ourselves here! Ps do claim your stamp at the main entrance counter if you're collecting those!

We came from Osaka for a fun afternoon in Kobe and we're thrilled to have come upon this amazing zoo. Having been to many zoos outside of Japan, this was a completely different experience seeing the animals up close and getting to feed the kangaroos, capybaras and deer. The facility was clean and the landscaping was really well done. The staff are also very kind and enthusiastic. I highly recommend coming here for a unique experience as it's a fun activity for all ages!

Very cool and open design for a zoo. Many animals roam the same walking spaces as visitors, so you get very close interactions with the creatures.

This place hidden in a Kobe industrial district had much more to see then we expected. The animal closures were very nicely laid out and lots of stuff on hand to make sure things went smoothly. Also the variety of animals and the sheer amount of them was also a surprise.

There is a free observation deck on the 24th floor of the building. Scenery seen from observatory was good. There is a cafeteria and observation deck where you can relax.

The Kobe City Hall Observation Lobby is free and opens until 10 p.m. Low crowd level and has washrooms. About a 15-min walk from the JR Sannomiya Station. You can catch both the ocean view and the mountain view from here. Also offers free Wi-Fi too. They also have a couple of restaurants / cafés on the same floor.

An amazing free observation deck to get some great shots of the city. Sure you could play for the view either from the ropeway or the port tower but if you want a free option that is close to a train station the view from here can't be beat.

For a free observation deck, it was nice. There's a cafe, a restaurant, and restrooms on the same floor. You can look towards the sea and the mountains. Kobe is pretty at night and you can see some light ups on the mountains from here. It was dark and cloudy, so they looked like they were floating in the sky, which was cool. Other than that, there was not much else there. The staff seemed friendly though.

There's a free observation deck on the 24th floor. When you enter through the entrance in flower road, there's an elevator with a red sign that can take you directly to the 24th floor. The view is amazing any time of the day. It's a great spot for taking photos of the city. There's a platform just in front of the windows so mounting your camera on a small tripod is possible. It's one of my favorite spots in Kobe.

Has a free observation deck on the top floor. You can see all around Kobe from there. Mountains on one side and the harbour on the other. Good place to see the Lumiere festival and it's crowds.

It's a large scenic spot with a very comfortable environment. You can take a walk while enjoying the sea breeze. There is also a Starbucks nearby. You can have a hot cup of coffee there.

Has the Be Kobe sign. Often there are night time fireworks 💥. Starbucks ☕️ is there. Some historic structures. The area is worth a visit. The are no decent restaurants there. Need to head to Umie for food.🥘

One of nicest place to visit with your partner. Nice view and nice location to spend an hour. Recommend time at 17~20 for best eve view.

This was such a nice relaxing place to walk in the early morning and get some fresh air. The weather was perfect with just the right amount of wind. Enjoyed drinking a Starbucks and then walking around some more on such a nice morning.

The scenery is beautiful at sunset, there is a Starbucks Cafe if you search for rest place. Around here there is Maritime museum. In this museum not only shows about ships but also train, diorama, and simulation.

Pretty chill place, nice view and there are vending machines around the vicinity. The monument was educational and informative. I was kinda annoyed because there are some people sitting by the BE KOBE sign and ruining people's chance for a good photo. Still, a great place to visit!

Visit the park in the evening. The lights and etc makes it really romantic. Take sope pictures of the museum and the BE KOBE statue. There are also other things to bisit nearby. The park, the boats, fountain, ...

Beatiful park. Spacious enough to play kite. Restrooms available. Many kid playground. Nice to see the harbor and the ferry wheels. Not far from china town.

It was a less busy calm evening and even if there are few people around, you can walk peacefully because the area is huge. And you can take a cruiser ride in the harbor land for like 1500 ¥. The experience is worth it. There are different cruises and the price list and the schedule is available to check.

Semi difficult climb. A round trip cable car ride half way up the mountain is 750 yen. Check the weather beforehand. The misty atmosphere was cool but we couldn’t see anything from the top.

I was finally made it up to the end of the ropeway after getting transferred from the cable car halfway around 5:00pm. Like everyone else, all tried to get a glimpse of night fall as it is one of the best three night views in Japan. After the night fall and the city down below got fully illuminated, many people then queued up at the rope way station trying to leave amid of bitterly cold. The queue was so long outside of the station and the waiting time was nearly one hour in a freezing cold night in Mid November. So, be sure to get some warm clothing with you since the temperature up on the hill is quite different from the ground.

The sight alone was worth the effort and made the entire climb worthwhile. Speaking of the climb, it certainly presented its fair share of challenges. The trail was quite difficult, demanding a certain level of physical fitness and endurance. However, the arduous trek was undeniably rewarding. The sense of accomplishment that accompanied each step was unparalleled, leaving me with a profound feeling of satisfaction. During the ascent, I also encountered the splendid waterfall known as “布引.” Its cascading waters added an extra touch of tranquility to the already picturesque surroundings. Pausing to appreciate the beauty of this natural wonder was a delightful respite amidst the physical exertion. However, it is important to note that the trail, while equipped with guides, can be a bit confusing for non-locals. The directions provided may not be entirely straightforward, leading to the possibility of taking the wrong course. It is advisable to exercise caution and stay attentive to avoid getting lost along the way. Lastly, it is worth mentioning that I came across a snake during my hike. While this is not uncommon in nature, it serves as a reminder to remain cautious and mindful of the surroundings. By being alert and taking necessary precautions, you can ensure a safe and enjoyable journey. In conclusion, my Maya Mountain climbing experience in Hyogo was a remarkable adventure that I would highly recommend. From the stunning summit view to the challenging yet rewarding ascent, the journey offers a mix of natural beauty and personal accomplishment. Just remember to stay attentive to the trail markers and be cautious of wildlife encounters. Very romantic and easy to get to. The scenery is amazing

Very nice scenery. Can see Kobe and Osaka night scenes there. Need to take bus no 2 or no 18, then get on a tram to get to the mount top. A bit of a trouble but the view there certainly worth it. There is almost nothing but a cafe there. The indoor window seats of the cafe would be very helpful in a cold night.

If you want to enjoy mountain view and fresh air recommend to visit.
