The staff was very friendly. They answered every question we had and helped us with every issue. There is a terrace with a great view of all the Medina of Tanger. There is another one where you can enjoy the breakfast which was really good as well, with great variety of food. The bathroom's door was broken so it was impossible to heat it.

Nice place. Tangiers was very windy when we were there and the room at the top was very noisy with wind blowing. Fabulous view of kasbah from roof. Our room was huge and very comfortable (except for the wind noise!).

We only stayed at Dar Tanger Medina for 2 days, but we were lucky enough to meet Larbi, who helped us to make the most of our experience in Morocco. He recommended us things to do, and, believe me, if you are curious to explore and learn about the culture, then talk to him as he knows the town insideout. Highlight of the trip: he managed to arrange for us the entrance to a truly local Hammam bath at the very last minute!! Incredible experience! If you are looking for a place to stay to get the local vibes, this is the one!

When we arrived we were given a different room than booked and were told that the airconditioning had broken down three days earlier. There was no indication in the room that there had ever been any though. We were given an Electric fan as a replacement. Unfortunately we did pay for the bigger room we had originally booked and were offered no discount or anything else to make up for the situation. Also the bathroom was in a separate room that could only be accessed through the hallway, which made it more of a hassle to use. While the bathroom looked very nice when quickly viewed we soon discovered that some appliances were broken. It also had not been cleaned properly for a while. In that vein, we also discovered a previous visitor's deodorant on the floor in our room. Combined with the unclean bathroom this gave us some doubts about the state of our own room. Breakfast was abundant (bread, fruit and yoghurt) although a bit dry and stale. Unfortunately we had no time to discuss this with the manager, or we would have. The hotel staff was very friendly (aside from the dubious airconditioning situation) and spoke fluent English. They also accepted both euros and dirham which was nice.

Nice clean cosy place, decently climatized, with great views, charming terrace for breakfast and the best host in town, Larby, who will tell you the best kept secrets of the medina in Tanger.

This Dar was very nice. The service was great and Larbi, the owner was very helpful. He showed us where to go and was very accommodating. The location and view is great. The bathroom is not attached for some of the rooms.

Been to stay here a few times when caught here in the covid days nothing is to much trouble Mr Larbi s knowledge and experience of the area is unrivalled great little place in the medina go or yourselves i go back regularly

Great value for price. The dar is located in the heart of the medina, has a wonderful terrace with an amazing view. The rooms are clean, simple, comfortable and have AC. Breakfast is simple but good, with local products. But the best is the super kind service offered by the staff. Larbi in particular has been an amazing host, taking care of all my needs, helping me arranging visits, recommending good places to eat and shop at a great price. I traveled alone and appreciated his advice. Only con is the noise but it's part of the experience of staying in the medina. I'd definitely come back! Highly recommend

Wonderful and accommodating staff. We would definitely return for another stay. Breakfast was varied and very filling up on the covered terrace. Air conditioning worked well in both rooms my family stayed in.

We had a awesome time with the greatest staff imaginable. We have been there for only 3 days but fell like we are already part of a Moroccan family. The location is also great and overall we can say we were very pleased.

Off the bat, your expectations should be in line with the price. If you need to have a beautiful bathroom with a great shower and a bedroom with a comfortable bed and reliable internet, this is not the place. For me, this was the perfect stay. The location is perfect and the rooftop view is like no other. The breakfast, which they serve in a tented area just below the rooftop, is traditional Moroccan, as good as any that you would find in Tangier. This is where I would stay every time I am in Tangier. It is like a home, with staff that genuinely wants to get to know you and make your time special. On the last night, for example, the manager invited me to have dinner with him, which he made himself and was better than most I had in Tangier. I am a solo traveler and like to have my space, but this was memorable. The water pressure in the bathroom was weak and I had to go to one of the shared spaces to get a strong internet signal, but these ended up being very minor issues. I fully recommend this stay.

Overated. A nice photo does not justify abuse by the doorman who considers himself the owner of the place. The man charges what he wants to let you in. The entrance should be free, but the man set up his "business" due to the lack of authority

The view of the sea from the inside of the cave is magnificent although it's not as big as you might think before going there.it's free to go to the main Hercules cave for sightseeing, however there is another section before the the cave where you have to pay 5 dh per person if you want to enter that section which i personally don't feel like it's something special but it's worth going to if you go there anyway,it has 2 subterranean caves underneath with a souvenir shop at the bottom and a man with a monkey and a parrot in addition to some sculptures depicting Hercules.

You feel the sens of very old culture . A dollar to get in . Friendly staff especially with photographers. Nice breezy feeling inside . Take look at my photos you LL find that I had really great time shooting here . The sunset is perfect show from the head of Hercules. Coffee shop and food around the cave . Easy park . Make sure you enjoy your self .

For tourist but a great quick experience, 30 minutes, you can pay a local 2-3 Euro to tell you the details on a quick 10 minute walk through the cave. Excellent touristy trinkets at shops. Quick food drink available too.

60 DH entrance is a lot for what you get to see. Very different from what I expected, as it is one of the most famous sights in Tangier. It is not natural at all and very crowded. I was expecting a more natural place. We were visiting the beaches close by, but I would not recommend making a visit if you only come for the caves. It's not a must .

Good to be seen, but nothing special. The most interesting is the hole in the rocks which look to the ocean and has the form of Africa continent which is a interesting and strange phenomenon - that is beautiful. Otherwise - nothing - zero! Nobody speaks English, there is no tour guides who are getting inside with you to explain you about the place and the things inside - this is unacceptable for me. There is a ticket price for foreigners - 60MAD (6€), for locals is 10MAD (1€). I reached the place via Taxi 🚕 with the InDrive App, which needs only mobile number activation and the prices are really cheap - less than 1€ per kilometer. Do not expect good cars, they even don't use A/C, ask the driver to switch it ON always of the car has and always choose the option for calling a car with A/C (it's a little bit better...).

This is a must see in Tangier! Especially the spot where you can see the water from the cave, also views outside the cave are beautiful! It’s 60 dirham per person, and you can you park your car on the street!

It's a super cool and kind of deep cave with a good view to the ocean at the end. It's interesting how possible it is to have a whole and way in this hill. It's for free and nice to walk, even if you want to get closer to the ocean

Great place to see but no other activities there other than the caves. There are 2 caves that you need to pay to enter, 5MAD & 60MAD, we were there in a rainy period so maybe other vendors were closed. The view is great from the inside of the cave. It's a quick stop to see this place, spending about 30 minutes there will be enough unless you have something to eat from the local shop there.

This was a Check Box destination for me, it was a bit disappointing. We were in and out in 10 minutes, mostly trying different Camera settings on all our phones to see if we can get a decent picture.

Trip Advisor did warn that it wasn't worth paying the 60 MAD per person. If you're Moroccan it's only 10 MAD which would be worth it. Once inside it's crowded and not spectacular. Still, the location has nice views

Good place to visit. In morning time it is less crowded. Really it is a big cave surrounded by Atlantic Ocean. The view and the nearby beach is awesome.

Not a bad experience, but really not much to see besides the cave entrance facing the sea that's shaped like the continent of Africa. While it has a fun story of it being where Hercules slept before one of his trials, there's not much record or lore to support this and they don't do much to show more. It costs 60 MAD for foreigners and 10 MAD for Moroccan nationals, and they only accept cash. One can easily get here by taxi and then walk down (cost is around 150 MAD to get here from Tangier)

Hercules Caves in Morocco left much to be desired. While the natural formations were interesting, the overall experience was underwhelming. The ticket prices seemed disproportionately high for what was offered, especially for foreign visitors. Additionally, the organization of the tourist attraction was lacking, with little guidance or information provided. I wouldn't recommend making a special trip solely to visit Hercules Caves. There are plenty of other more rewarding attractions to explore in Morocco.

I must note that this review is just based on our limited experience. We did not get to see the part that exits out to the ocean. The top part with people playing music (not beautiful music like at our restaurant later but just banging on things) just felt like a big tourist trap and it was not like the rest of Tangier, which we loved! It just looked tacky and cheap. Wish we had gone to the sea portion of it! This was just with a quick daytime tour, so we really didn’t get much information on it but also we weren’t impressed. I wanted to get out of there, and I generally really like caves, so it was disappointing.

Busy but breathtakingly beautiful. I still have no idea about the history, as there was no information available therefor we will have to look it up in the historical books. Prices for Moroccans and non-Moroccans are not the same!

Such a great experience and our guide Nabil and Hicham were fantastic! We paid ahead and were able to avoid the line to go right in. Hicham took lots of pictures for us so we didn’t have to ask anyone else. The cave is based off of Hercules legend and the view of the Mediterranean Sea is gorgeous! Definitely a must see.

Beautiful cave, worth stopping at lots of picturesque views. Be wary of sloped floors and slippery footing. Great history, and lore.

It's nice to visit though a bit pricey for tourist 60 MAD, however I recommend that you visit the next cave it's really worth it. You will see a group of ppl performing ,singing above the water fall ..

Great place to visit and see the sunset. There's a cafe, a lighthouse, and plenty of viewpoints. It can get rather crowded around sunset, but there are plenty of taxis around the area to take one back to Tangier

Cape Spartel is the northwesternmost point of Africa, west of Tangier where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Mediterranean Sea. Very nice view!

Most northwestern point of Africa. Amazing place with incredible view. You can reach here from Tangiers through shared taxi (I paid 70 mad two way).

A beautiful viewpoint very close to Hercules caves. When in Tangier you can visit Hercules caves and then a 10-15 min taxi ride will take you to Cape Spartel. The entry to the view point is ticketed and you can climb up the lighthouse for a beautiful panoramic view of the ocean and the coastline. The gardens are beautiful and well maintained with lots of good photo opportunities. There are plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the beautiful views of Cape Spartel.

This place is a must visit. Have a bit of everything, hiking, climbing, sea and an ocean. Highly recommended

Spectacular and stunning sea and sunset view and best attractions in Tanger. Restaurant is very busy and food served cold. Toilets not clean and no electricity. We enjoyed the place a lot.

The building itself is maybe the main attraction of the museum but of course the nicely presented collection of objects from the last few millennia is also worth seeing. There's a pleasant garden behind the building, where a cafe operates when it's not Ramadan. The entrance fee of 30 dirhams includes entrance to the neighbouring Museum of Contemporary Art.

Very interesting museum. You can find art, history, geography, archeology. We like the most history of the Maroco and the jardine. Take your time and visit this beautiful museum.

Worth visiting! It's a maze of new experiences and discoveries, from the main exhibition, to the garden to the modern part. A must see in Tanger!

Quite a decent museum, much bigger than first appears. There's two parts, left and right. Easily takes 1-2hrs to get thru it all. The left side is ancient stuff, exotic mosaics and tiles. The right side is mostly art, paintings, movies, recent. Not as interesting. Admission is very cheap 20DRM pp. Nobody there, chilly December day, you got the place to yourself (with 4-5 security guards). Garden upstairs is underwhelming, should skip that. The crypt room with skeletons is more interesting. The ceilings are amazing, they have mirrors below to help you see them without neck strain.

Don't let the exterior fool you, this is the gem of Tangier. The little contemporary art museum has some beautiful paintings while the sultan's palace itself is large, architecturally gorgeous and full of significant historical artifacts from bronze age to the 19th century, all perfectly curated and displayed. The floor mosaic is fantastic. A must see museum at a very reasonable price for foreigners.

A very minimal museum with random displays and little information. It is also quite a maze with no proper directions or signs. None of the staff speak English. It is not accessible. We couldn't take our stroller so had to carry our daughter throughout. We also left our stroller at the entrance but we couldn't go back to the entrance to pick it up. We had to exit and walk on the street and go back to entrance. Quite confusing. The cafe was closed. On a positive note, it is clean and well maintained and the displays were done well.

Great museum to spend some time learning about this beautiful country.I was surprised by all of the at and artists that have flown from Morocco. They have some beautiful pieces from the 13th-16tg century. There's a nice old Roman mosaic on the floor of one of the many exhibition rooms. It is also connected to say museum. Both are very cool and worth a visit. Great way to learn something and escape the heat of the day!

Two part- museum : one area for contemporary paintings by Arab artists and another one highlighting Tangier's main historical periods! Loved both, especially the second part Very interesting and visually beautiful! Explanations are available in Arabic and in French (as well as Spanish in the historical museum). I don't recall seeing English... (?) Several clean toilets are available for visitors. It was not crowded and the staff was really helpful!

If you're interested in the history of American-Moroccan relations this museum is for you. The house is simply beautiful. You can read newspapers from the 40s, listen to old music and walk around all rooms. Nice Christmas decorations in December.

This is a gem of a museum. Documents the history, and houses memorabilia, from the early days of the Morocco USA relationship as well as during World War II The building housed the US diplomatic mission in Morocco. Deserve to visit this fascinating place !

"Welcome home" is what the guard at the door said to us as we entered. It's a special place. It is the only National Historic Landmark on foreign soil and had heard of it occasionally when I worked for the US National Park Service. The museum tells the story of the relationship between the US and Morocco since 1777, when the King specifically recognized the AMERICANS --not British colonists -- as trading partners. The museum is full of facimilie letters, diary entries, and art to tell that story. Small bookstore and clean facilities. The Paul Bowles wing is a must see for US Americans in Tangier. Make sure you add to the guest book when you are there, too.

It's really an interesting piece both historically and architecturally as the museum occupies two buildings connected via small bridge over the narrow street of medina they stand on opposite each other. One part is dedicated solely to the US legion and military mission/school, the other part contains more stuff focused on artists who spent at least part of their life in Tanger and reflected the town in their art (whatever form it had).

As an American this is a fascinating experience. Before visiting I was not aware that Morocco was the first country to recognize America in 1776. I highly recommend other Americans to visit. The World War II exhibit was especially fascinating.

Really beautiful interior style mixing Morocco local Arabic style and American vintage style!! colorful rooms and two comfortable small courtyard will give you good pictures, must visit it in tanger

Poorly exhibited at the start, hard to follow what was going on , or where to turn your head next within the house causing disjointed information and reading non linear history. 50 DH each from what we can remember. That being said after the initial bits of American history the house opened up into a lovely square where we were able to sit and admire the stacked terraced roofs , bountiful flower boxes and the blue blue sky of Tangier. We recommend coming for the not the exhibition. Towards the end , the Paul Bowles exhibit highlighted the influence he took from Tangier and the rest of Morocco , we’ll be downloading his Moroccan LP field recordings in due course… Bonus ambience if American tourists are there when you are.

This is a small treasure in Tanger, Morocco 🇲🇦. This was very informative and I know a lot of people didn't or don't know this small part of USA history. Beautiful place to visit.

Cozy space to check out. It's better to have some background about American history and famous Americans in Tangier before coming. Otherwise, you may not see the big picture and many elements of the puzzle: "Americans came in peace for a cultural bound not for an influencing oppression"

As a veteran I made a point to stop in for a visit while in Tangier. You should too. I never knew that Morocco was the first country to recognize the USA as county in 1778. Morocco has had a long friendship with the USA. There's a lot of pieces from history in here. You learn more about WWII in Africa. They have copies of old newspapers. Fun reading some of the old headlines. The building was a gift from the Sultan of Morocco to the USA. Its the oldest foreign office outside of the USA. Go check it out. It's worth s visit.

It's simply amazing. So many cool things to see and learn about Moroccan/American relations and history. I highly recommend it. Very cheap (20MAD for local) and close to other attractions such as the port and Dar el Baroud museum.

Nice public beach which we visited on sun y march day. There were couple of hundreds of localpeople and a guy allowing yo ride a camel which we used. He was open to negoziate the price. I can imagine the place is full during summer. There are lots of bars, discos and restaurants around which were closed.

In February 2024 The beach is very spacious but dirty, lots of broken glass, plastic bottles and trash in the sand. Maybe because low season they don’t clean it. The sand is golden, soft. The horse ride sellers pester you for rides multiple times despite saying no and allow the horses to defecate into the water, so not ideal to swim. If you can get past this, it’s nice place for solo travelers and large groups to enjoy a picnic and sunshine. Parallel to the beach is a strip of underground parking, cafes, restaurants and hotels with east access by foot.

Tangier Beach is an ideal getaway and a short walk from the old Medina.

Trash left everywhere on the beach is a negative to an otherwise beautiful beach. Moroccans should be more respectful of their natural resources. Excellent sand and clear water with small waves. Swimming is no problem if you can bear the cold water. Tangier: put out trash cans liberally and employ the unemployed to empty them regularly. Hire someone to pick up trash and put out signs to not dirty the beach and water.

In February 2023 we visited Tangier and whilst there we spent some time at Plage Municipale beach.  The beach was very spacious and clean (no litter).  The sand was golden, the sea was crystal clear and there were magnificent views.  It was fantastic to see children riding camels and horses.  This was a great location for children to fly kites, and to play football, or for families, couples, solo travelers and large groups to enjoy a picnic.   Parallel to the beach was a strip of shops, cafes, restaurants and hotels. At the beach it was possible to buy souvenirs, beach throws, bags, towels and sun glasses. Near to the beach was the port with a 'hop on, hop off' tourist bus, the marina, Kasbah Mosque, Muraille de Tanger (a free fort / museum) and a labyrinth of narrow streets with bazaars and restaurants surrounding the Continental Hotel.

Very clean and nice beach. There is no rubbish, dozens of employees are sweeping footpaths and empty bins every few minutes.

It is only 5 min walk from my hotel so I came down here at 7am the following morning I arrived Tangier. It was a nice beach in general, quiet, and clean (in the morning at least). The beach is for certain a tourist and local attraction as it is always crowded in the afternoon. Before it turns into a hustle and bustle spot attracting hundreds of tourist with horse back ride and camel back ride, I saw at least 2 grounds of people towing 2 separate long nets catching fish. Fish were small on average, and it looked like they had been doing these for years. There were many hawkers in the area and they sold things like bottle drink, snack, etc. For kids, how about a fully manual merry-go-round? I saw this the first time in my life so I took a video clip of it. By the way, I noticed there are a few staircases reaching the underground car park. Yet 2 of them were blocked so I wondered if the parking lot was still in operation. Overall, it's a vibrant beach and it's worth to take a look in the afternoon. It would be too quiet in the morning though, and the smells from the wastes of horses and camels could also be a turn off.

It’s a beach you know? You can get a camel ride or a horse ride. It’s probably a little cold to swim here any time of the year but that doesn’t mean it’s not pleasant to walk along it. It’s a pretty long beachfront. Relaxing, windy, salty air.

You will be approached to take the horse ride for some fee. Be prepared to be asked to pay more if they help you to take photo or take you for a longer ride.

Well… I had an interesting experience here. the museum was nice, but be wary of the people surrounding the building. We were talking with one of the guards at the museum about the history of the walls and Moroccan culture. An old man came into the museum entrance and started talking with us and with the guard. The museum guard told him we mostly spoke English, and then sent us with him. He essentially picked us up under the guise that he was giving directions to a cool spot. He showed us around the Kasbah, and gave us a bit of a tour. I don’t know how much was actually true. We ended up getting stopped by undercover police, who said they had arrested him the day before for giving false tours. He does not have the authorization to do so. I don’t think he’s dangerous, but just be wary of getting herded like that. I attached a photo, he let us take it of him while we were on the tour.

The exhibition was quite underwhelming, in my opinion. There aren’t many items on display and most of the texts are in French or Arabic. The staff speak these languages, but little to no English. When we paid at the entrance, they didn’t give us any tickets, but they asked for them later on. When we explained that we paid and we didn’t get any, the response was just an “aaah, OK…”. The architecture is indeed beautiful, but nothing you can’t see elsewhere. The garden isn’t that well maintained and it looks like the cafe has been closed for a long time.

Not amazing as such, but a thorough timeline of Tangier and the region in a beautiful building. For the price (20 dirham) I think it's totally worth it, there is also a Andalusian garden inside. One hour or so suffices!

It was a lovely afternoon visit to the church during its opening hours. The keeper asked for donations but it wasn’t a problem for me. The church and the cemetery were peaceful and quiet. I had a pleasant conversation with the guard and I appreciate his advice on staying in Tangier. Please show some respect and enjoy the hospitality.

St. Andrew's Church and its adjacent cemetery together have been a haven of worship, prayers, peace and tranquility in Tangier for over 100 years. This beautiful church is one of the few Christian houses of worship in Tangier, and it has a loyal following of expatriate residents among its congregation, along with tourists and visitors passing through the city on the Strait of Gibraltar. Inside the church's wall there are attractive gardens and a few benches. Among the tombstones in the church's cemetery are the graves of many former residents of Tangier, some of whom were my friends and acquaintances.

The guardian ask the donation for visit inside the Church, and minimum is 10 dh, and you must show the money for donation before the guardian allow to let you in inside. So I think this is not DONATION. Donation is the money depend on visitor willing to pay. Do not tell for the minimum. The guardian is rude and not friendly.

We enter the gardens and the welcoming was the RUDE guard Yassine, asking us many questions in a very intimidating way, when we asked him if we could enter the church he said it cost 20 dirhams per person, we decided to keep walking around the gardens and suddenly he decided us to kick us out saying that he didn’t like our attitude and that we were being rude because we didn’t want to pay the 20 dirhams. On the way out he started treating us, to the point that my partner thought about calling the police. So sad that a religious site like this is guarded by someone this rude and with such an attitude towards visitors.

Beautiful garden that offers an oasis of peace in an otherwise hectic area. Lovely church with rich history and unique design.

We were welcomed with open arms by a very personable man with whom we talked for at least 20 minutes. There was no entrance fee/ donation There was a service in progress and we were asked if we wanted to participate and could we otherwise wait if we wanted to view the church. The graveyard is a like a botanical garden full of flowers and beautiful trees. Well worth a visit

This place has no right to be called a church. The entrance isn't free, the guard is rude and even aggressive. As I didn't have any cash, I decided to go around the church and have a walk in the garden. But the guard kicked me out of the territory saying that the church is closed. It was 16:34. I had the right to be on the territory for another 26 minutes. So... never again.

The first you see, when you enter the gate is a beautiful cemetry-garden. The second you see is a church and an impudent local guy, who thinks he is a boss of this church and charges you 20 dihrams for entrance. An intriguing place, surrounded by a lovely cemetery. The attendant made us feel very welcome, and gave us many interesting historical details.

You do have to enter with a donation, but it’s a very nice place. The architecture reflects how different cultures and religion cross path, and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable.

Don't take any notice of detracting reviews. Caretaker was humorous and kind. Offered me a drink and talked for ages. Nice guy, very sharp and knowledgeable.. It's refreshing to have someone committed to his job. He takes it very seriously and passionately.

My day was marred by an unfortunate incident involving the guard, my friends and I, as we were unjustly denied entry for a visit. Arriving around 1:00 pm with eager anticipation to explore the architectural marvel, our enthusiasm was met with the discourteous and disrespectful demeanor of the guard at the entrance gate. He adamantly claimed the church was private, prohibiting visitors, asserting that as non-Christians, we were unwelcome. This encounter escalated with moral lectures and questioning of our faith. In an attempt to resolve the situation, we contacted the administrator, who, in a courteous response to my friend, confirmed that visits were indeed permitted. Returning to convey this information to the guard proved futile, as he adamantly insisted on being the sole decision-maker for the site. A subsequent call to the administrator resulted in a request to engage the guard in a conversation on speakerphone, which he vehemently avoided. Upon his return, he demanded a payment of 20dh per person for entry, a proposition we unequivocally rejected, opting to donate to the church rather than acquiesce to dishonest demands. Undeterred, we proceeded with a brief tour of the cemetery and garden, under the watchful eye of the persistent guard. The experience left us feeling deeply humiliated and nervously uncomfortable. To the administrators of this esteemed site, it is evident that the current guard is ill-suited to protect and preserve the legacy of this sacred and enchanting locale. I implore you to thoroughly reassess the situation and take corrective measures to restore the rightful reputation this church deserves.

The place is really nice and welcoming, the "guard" Yassine, was always ready to answer any question about the history of this church and Tangier in general and he never asked for any money in return. The service room is small but has a special flair and the garden is well maintained (by an elderly person). I will definitely visit the place again and spend more time in there. Just to avoid any misunderstanding, there is no official fee to get in and there will be no problem letting you in if you stay cool, put a smile on your face and talk nicely to the "guard". People in charge there want to avoid problems and they can't let everybody in, as they already have had some issues in the past. If you make an effort listening to Yassine, you will definitely learn a lot of interesting untold stories about some worldwide famous expats in Tangier.

This place does not respect any schedule. You might find it closed in opening hours. If you call the given number someone replies but does not seem to understand normal query like "how could I enter the church?", "is the church open?". He said "yes", it was opened (I assure you it was closed) and that he would have opened. While waiting, we call other times. We spoke in English, French and Arabic just to be sure he was totally able the understand. The guy continued to say "ok". So we waited outside the gate as he said "ok", to our question "shall we wait you here?". Reading other reviews, I believe succeeding in visiting this church is random and depends on the guardian mood. Surely there is nothing bad in being unorganised is such a way but since we are talking about a Church and not a public toilet or a market place, maybe who owns this holy building should be more respectful.

This is a very special church. The caretaker, Yassim, was extremely friendly and helpful, telling us all about the history of the church, designed specifically to be welcoming to all religions, and inviting us to walk around the peaceful and beautiful cemetery garden. He was also very willing to help us with directions to our next site. Highly recommend visiting!

My husband and I visited St. Andrew’s to get more information about Sunday services. The groundskeeper greeted us warmly and explained the history of the church. There is only one Sunday service now - an 11am - and they do ask for a small donation to enter the church, but this helps with the upkeep, especially when the congregation is small. St. Andrew’s is a gem in a bustling city! 100% recommend.

A tour to the city center is a must when you come to Tangier. It's a mixture of everything. Yes, it is a Muslim country, and yes it is in North Africa, yet it has lots of influence from Spain and France and you can feel it while you are there. My friend is from Spain and he said Spanish is widely spoken, although road signs are in Arabic and French only. Other than coffee shops and small hotels, you can find shops for local people like bakery, spices, condiments, etc. It is always filled with people, tourists and locals alike. Unlike other African cities where you are always reminded of pickpockets, I felt rather safe and comfortable walking around. In fact, I did not see any police or CCTV. I guess tourism is such a major GDP income to Tangier that their authority will do everything they can to maintain a low crime rate.

Good place to walk around and experience how local lives. There are a lot of shops that sells food, drinks, bags, shoes, souvenir etc. Colorful doors are great place for pictures too!

Historic place with beautiful surroundings. The fountain has been restored and the whole area has been painted, giving a mesmerising look especially during sunset time. Cinema Rif is located there and is still operating

No visit to Tanger is complete without coming here to the Grand Souk. Its like taking a step back in time, a time of fairy tales magic carpets & never-ending alleyways & markets. Buy everything & anything your heart desires. All your holiday souvenirs can be purchased here, but be prepared to haggle. It is truly a trip of a lifetime

Place du 9 Avril 1947, more popularly known as the Grand Socco, is a circular road and park with a large marble fountain in the center. It is one of the main public areas in Tangier which separates the old Medina from the newer areas in downtown Tangier, Morocco. The circular fountain was built about 15 years ago. Eventually it stopped working and was neglected for a few years, but thankfully, the fountain was repaired, cleaned of dirt and graffiti and the old water pipes were replaced. The newly-restored and cleaned marble fountain was turned on and began spouting water again in the first week of February 2020. The circular park-like area is surrounded by grassy areas with tall Marrakech palms that are not native to Tangier. There are also a dozen stone benches where you may sit and relax and watch the views and passersby. From here you can see a mosque, the entrance to Mendoubia Gardens and the large arch leading into the Medina, Rue de la Kasbah (Rue d'Italie), the old covered food market, the popular restored Cinema Rif, half a dozen cafes and simple outdoor restaurants, a pharmacy and other businesses on the perimeter. The Grand Socco once had huge very old trees similar to those in the Mendoubia Gardens until 1955, when there was a tragic passenger bus accident which killed and injured over 20 people. Unfortunately, the Tangier city authorities at that time ordered all these 300 year old trees cut down, since they believed that the trees themselves caused the accident and not the careless bus driver. An urgent public petition was circulated and signed by many concerned residents to try to stop the cutting down of these beautiful old trees. Sadly their effort proved useless, to the chagrin of many concerned residents interested in preserving Tangier and its historical areas. The current Grand Socco (Place du 9 Avril 1947), with its green lawns, flowers, tall palm trees and a dozen benches to sit on overlooking the central marble fountain, remains quite popular with residents and tourists.

Nice place to hang out. Culture immersion with food markets an the small streets of the medina. Moroccans are friendly people and you can communicate in French or Spanish. Of course Arabic is the main language.

A good part of the old city of Tanger. In the heart of old madena , very close to the fish market where you can buy your fish and see food then take it to a restaurant in front of the Socco to grill it and enjoy. Always ask how much it cost to grill it with other restaurant services. It should not be more than 70 DH. For 1 and 1/2 KL of grilling. In Morocco Always ask how much for any service.

Culturally interesting, a meeting square for the locals in old Tangier and the oldest cinema of Africa which is still functional. The markets, street vendors etc..life in another dimension Close to the Medina which is a real labyrinth to get lost.

Grand Socoo is the main busy place of tangier. It is surrounded by medina and a lot of restaurants. Amazing experience, highly recommend. Always street performances. Everything you need

A beautiful place. It's the entrance of Medina and the little markets around. About this spot: you can enjoy the time on the bench and just chill. Enjoy the break and look around. All the people are on their way to something and you can stop your tike a bit. The fountain is wonderful and get a special view during the day. Around the evening time you'll find people doing music around and it's full of families enjoying time together.

No tickets needed, no lines ever. Kind of touristy. Lively. Nice place to walk around. Very safe. (Keep your pockets empty). Recommend wearing a fanny pack or waist wallet.

There are trails for all levels of hikers, beginners, intermediate and advanced. Be sure to ask for assistance using your Google translate, it helps immensely to make sure the trail you choose isn't too challenging.

This place is a must see in Tangier. The views are amazing on a clear day. You can see Spain and ships crossing the water. There is a medium level hike to get out to the edge of the land to take pics but it's well worth it! There's a small restaurant near the parking area that serves bissara which is the most popular Tangier food. The restaurant was crowded but well worth it to try the tasty food they offer 😁

Good place for families. There's an old historical palace there with a lovely terrace looking at the Mediterranean sea and the forest. Entrance is 10dh for Moroccan adults and 70dh for foreign one. It's even cheaper for children. It's totally worth it. Walking in the forest however is free to the public.

A beautiful escape from city center right into the arms of nature ! Rmilat, where the forest overlooks the sea coast. It is very clean, well-organized and well-directed. It also contains an interesting museum inside. It is accessible by car, or by taxi from Ibiria station.

Such a lovely forest with a panoramic view on the beach. It’s better to go early in the morning to have a quieter walk with less people around, this also allows you to breathe a nice fresh air peacefully while hearing the sound of the moving trees and the birds singing. I would def recommend trying one of the swings there (they are hanged on the trees) it’s such a beautiful experience for a very cheap price.

Beautiful park with nice views on the sea. Smells good too. It has lots of benches to sit and bbq facilities. You can have coffee or tea along the road at the top. Reachable from Tanger by taxi.

A nice public Park with a great view. There is a beautiful home on the far side of the park that would have a spectacular view. The park is available to all and is one of the many places a tour will stop as you experience Tangier. There are small shops and restaurants in the area as well. There seems to be walking trails all over too.

A beautiful green place, very clean and very secure as well. Suitable for doing some jogging 🏃‍♂️ and perfect for some picnics with either family or just friends. One of the best places to relax in tangier. I recommend it.

English review: extremely crowded, even on a Monday. Unfortunately, it seems like a lot of people are unemployed in Morocco and sitting around in this dirty park. It's paralleled by a very chaotic street full of traffic; the absolute opposite of relaxing.

Beautiful sight over the open blue ocean, with a semi comfortable chairs, great to visit during empty times such as mid week mornings, not suitable for rainy days. One of the most beautiful sights in tangier hands down.

Near the end of his life, he dictated an account of his journeys, titled A Gift to Those Who Contemplate the Wonders of Cities and the Marvels of Travelling, but commonly known as The Rihla.

Tourists come hoping to see something interesting and they get disappointed. Is Ibn battouta remembered or forgotten here? The Tomb is closed now. It definitely needs more care and more highlights of the great adventures of this hardworking explorer. The access is difficult.

Simple tomb built near the top of the Kasbah. The tomb itself was locked, but local guide was nearby and opened it for us. The grave itself has a wooden box covered in a white cloth, over his grave. There is a small prayer room within the small room. It is well worth the trip for any traveller to visit, and pay respects to one of the worlds most famous travellers.

The Tomb is located in the Medina. Considering the Man is so revered his tomb is rather desolate. Visit to pay respects to the great scholar and explorer. There is a blind man that takes care of the place. Lots of times it may be closed. Knock the door as he may be asleep inside or have the friendly neighbors call him up. His number is written on the door. We waited for an hour. Considering his age, the structure of the medina and that he is blind. Its reasonable that he is delayed.

Such a great place; unfortunately, the tomb where closed at the time I went; however, we enjoyed working on Nebergohd, smiling, cooking and watching families going in and out of the old buildings and living their everyday life.

Nice beach but if there was more facilities like shops for swimming and a pave for stroller or wheelchair until the water would be better for seniors.

The beach is clean and beautiful vue, what's bother me is no close parking from the beach, no close entrance to the beach, you should go down a lot of stairs to get to the beach. Some people charge lot to rent umbrellas and relaxing chairs, pay attention not to get scammed.

This place was very nice and worth the visit. It is said that this is the place where Hercules separated the continents and that his profile is forever preserved in the depths of this cave. Other than that, not much to see/do here but it was nice to come and see it for ourselves.

Beautiful beach. Toilets and public showers are also available for free. Very clean and beach guards are also present for the safety of swimmers.

This was absolutely wonderful. I really enjoyed visiting this historical site. I personally am a great ancient monuments admirer so when I came to Tangier, I couldn’t miss the chance to visit these tombs that belonged to an ancient civilization. This place has been restored and looks nicer, from here you’ll be delighted with the astonishing views of the sea and Spain

Other than an easy viewpoint for pix of the sea and Spain...not much to see. Just a bunch of holes in the stone where bodies were, a long time ago, placed. Easy to find, not 30m off the street. Bring some lunch, snack, sit on the rock (on a nice day) and watch the sea, with the ghosts of dead ancestors.

It’s a great sport from where you can observe the city, and if you are lucky you can also see Spain very clear! On the other side, this is an historical landmark but it’s used as a garbage deposit. The tombstone were filled of water and plastic and people were just sitting next to them.

Great location to learn about the Roman necropolis but the best are the views of the beautiful ocean and of Spain if the day is clear. Many locals sit here to relax, read or people watch.
