The Castle of Cullera is a restored hilltop castle dating back to the 10th century, offering scenic water views and housing a museum. Situated in the coastal town of Cullera, in Valencia, Spain, it provides panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The castle has historical significance as it was involved in battles and reconstructions over the centuries.
Despite the Castle of Cullera being closed, the view from the hill was absolutely stunning, offering a panoramic perspective of Cullera and the Mediterranean Sea. The castle's exterior hints at a rich history, leaving me eager to return and explore its historical charm in the future.

This place is magical! This is our second time here this spring and it never disappoints. I would recommend to anyone looking for a beautiful getaway for an afternoon. There is a small cafe at the top of the castle outside the church but it did not look big. It looked like a nice place to have a cafe but we like to go eat at one of the many restaurants on the beach below.
Shane Roberson — Google review
The castle itself is worth visiting, the view is amazing. However the gift shop is poor unless you want to buy devotional articles. Cafe is not welcoming, the smell of old oil put us off and we didn't try any of their delicacies.

Fantastic views from all around the castle. Well worth the €3 charge. Definitely recommend.

It was a very nice experience and we took beautiful photos. The walk us wasn’t too long only like 30 minutes but it was really great.

You have some very cool views from up there. People with reduced mobility can access the Museum by elevator and to a first floor with a platform, from there there is no further accessibility further up. Very friendly staff. The cost of entry to the Castle is €3 and if you have a disability it is €1. You can go up by car, there is parking, if you have reduced mobility you have an elevator that takes you to the entrance of the Castle at no cost for those with reduced mobility, otherwise it costs €1 to go up and another to go down. You can also take the stairs for those who can walk.

Parking (limited when busy) at the base (use toilets there!) if you can weave your way through Cullera to the access road. Funicular available from parking to the castle/cafe entrance.
Views spectacular!
Staff totally amiable and helpful.
Approach on foot is quite steep and long.
Interior not really suited to those with mobility problems.

Spectacular place, to make a hiking route and beautiful views. You can see the whole city from the top of the castle.

This castle overlooking Cullera is very visitor oriented.
Lots of active media panels which explain the history of the site and the town.
Easy walking around the castle with plenty of viewing areas and opportunities to take in the vista.
Some parking available.
Well worth a visit.

Muy buenas vistas de todo cullera, muy recomendable subir a echar un vistazo en un día despejado.
También se pueden por detrás todos los campos de arrozales que es una extensión inmensa, además de los pueblos cercanos a Cullera.

You can also see behind all the rice fields, which is an immense area, in addition to the towns near Cullera.

Lovely castle and walk up to it. Beautiful panoramic views over Cullera

NOT It is advisable to go up from the Del Mar side because it is a boring road for cars. Better on the other side - it's a special walking route.
There is also a €1 lift for people who don't want to walk up.
At the height of the castle there is a simple cafe.

It's okay, not much to go around. We went 10:00 here. If you are thinking to buy ticket in advance I advice you not because the woman in the entrance is not there always, and you can have the same view without entering. Better also to pack your own food (I pack tuna sandwich, try it lol) and water to save (8 Euro if u ask for taxi just going there , 3 euros for entrance, 2 euros for souvenir coin)

Amazing place if you like history, cheap entry also. The view you have over Cullera from the mountaintop is breathtaking, for 1 euro coins you can use the mounted binoculars. Sadly theres no way to change 2 euro coins into 1 euro coins so come prepared. Also the only free watersource up there tastes like bleach, so bring your own drinks

Very simple but I was not able to visit the castle or the interior of the church but I will return to see it and see if I change my opinion. This time it was enjoying the views from the viewpoint and having a drink at the small bar there. What I found quite deficient was that the bar does not have services and those in the place were closed and it was a problem since such a remote and touristy place should be open all the time and the bar should have them too. With access to hiking routes. It's a shame that the weather won't be good as it was cloudy but with good weather I think the views should be much better. At night it can be a romantic place to take your partner to spend a nice moment looking at the horizon or for a sunrise or sunset. The elevator was not working either and the only thing that worked were the machines to withdraw coins from that place, there being two of different currencies, I recommend the one at the top, not the one with the brass coins.
A place that could be much better organized without a doubt.
Aquatic park with outdoor pools, tunnel slides & obstacle courses, plus burgers & ice cream.
Great place but be aware of the queues. I say circa 10 school buses were parked outside on the day we were in. We only managed to get through some slides after 3pm when school kids have gradually started to depart. 1.5-2h wait for a slide before that made no sense.
Evgen L — Google review
Huge queue to get in the park at 12pm. Instead of making time slots they are making people to queue at the hottest time of the day, pandemic still there by the way. People are running in like mad to grab a table under the tent and leave there their belongings for the rest of the day. There are some semi private booths next to the main pool which you have to pay for separately.
Then another big queue to get the locker. And as a logical conclusion to all of the above, a queue for every water slide you want to go on - expect to wait 20-30 minutes for each amusement.
The only café located in the park operates only from 1 to 4pm (as if the rest of the day people don't need to eat or drink, or the park itself doesn't need extra money) and guess what? - yes, there is a queue!
Definitely not worth it's price of 26€ if you're buying ticket online and 29€ if you need to get one on the door where you have to... queue!
Apparently some of the amusements in August 2021 were closed which didn't stop the park management to let in as many people as possible.
Overall experience is below the expectations. Poor infrastructure and the lack of management.
Not recommended.
Andrej Cholodov — Google review
Despite many bad reviews we went there, and didn't regret it for a minute.
It's a small aqua park, with many life guards and kind staff.
The longest waiting time was about 40 minutes for the "black hole" but it was worth it, so much fun. Waiting places shaded. Clean toilets. For lunch we had pizzas and they were freshly baked not frozen ones, reasonable price.
Price for 2 lounges and an umbrella 8 euro, car park €5
It is nice place to go with smaller kids, but there is enough water for everyone and a few places smaller kids can't go😁
Daiga Krivenoka — Google review
Great fun! I would strongly recommend buying the speedy passes to skip the queues. You can purchase them from the locker room attendant once in the park. Get a locker for your prized possessions and the rest will be quite safe in a bag tucked away on site. Make sure you sit up when you do the speedy race ride!
Chris Holt — Google review
Don’t go here if you don’t want to waste money. You pay extra (10€/each) for lockers, chairs and umbrellas and parking apart from the ticket.
Guards don’t let you do anything apart from walking in the water, also unreasonable weight limits on the slides. Nobody speaks english.
Dari Guerguieva — Google review
Great place to spend the day with the kids! Mine absolutely love it even if they have to queue for sometime. We took the seasonal pass which costs 300€ for a family of four, I think it’s cheaper to do so. It gives you 4 parking tickets per pass and you can bring food and coolers which is not allowed in other water parks(the food is horrible there so better bring yours). You need to pay for the loungers but picnic tables are free so people squatt those 🤭
Lovely smiling staff 😊

We spent a very good weekend here. Keep your tickets, and will have more discount when you come back next time with old tickets.

Huge queue to get in the parking space and it is charge 5€. You have to wait anothe rqueue to entry it suppose to open only at 11:30pm it ia bit late for a summer period. All cleaned and staffs are bit angry when you need to speak with them. Th semi private booths next to the main pool which you have to pay for separately.
Then another big queue for every water slide you want to go on - expect to wait 20-30 minutes for each amusement. If you want it faster you need to pay extra 20€ each.
They have a restaurant buy you are allowed to bring your food and drinks.
Definitely not worth it's price of 26€ but the promotion 2x1 was far.
There is not high level water places option to make super adventure for adults, it seems more for children.
Big pool in the middle of the park was hot water.
Vivian Vicentini — Google review
There are a lot of opportunities for a family to have fun. There are a dozen of different slides, with or without water rings. Also, restaurants are ok with prices of about 3€ for ice cream or drinks. Area for small children in excellent.
Area for improvement is waiting time for slides and rings. Plan to spend at least 30min waiting for a ring, for slides with rings, or 30min for slides not requiring rings. Simply, the concept forces you to buy a Speed pass in order to have some fun on slides, but this increases the price significantly.
Milos Trikic — Google review
Fun day out, but way too busy in August. We queued for at least an hour on each slide. Food was decent if you’re buying lunch in there and prices are as expected for a water park. Take flip flops or sliders as the floor gets very hot and you will be standing on it for ages in queues. Buy your tickets in advance!
Emma Chau — Google review
The place is okay something to remark. First 5 euros to pay for the parking space after spending 27 for the entrance ticket is not fair. Also the place open at 11.30 and close at 19 during the summer sounds strange other places open early and close late. You need to have a lot of paciente and do at least 30 min of waiting for each slide with a short time available you need to rush to do all of them. The first arrive the first get the VIP zone you cannot reserve it online.
Alberto Gullo — Google review
The park is so so, I mean, the staff is awesome, very helpful and friendly, however, we had to wait for 1 hour and 20 minutes to ride the Calypso attraction... This lead us to, obviously, not doing the queue again for Black Hole and Amazon River as the wait was nearly the same. So we missed those two.
It was a good experience but unfortunately for me it's the last time.
Sorry, but I don't pay for tickets to waste time...
Al Martín (Bricksvlc) — Google review
We went to this park to slide from all the waterslides! Only 5 to slide from in this park so that was a bit disappointing. Long waiting times, and not very spectacular to say the least. Very expensive both entrance and snacks. Plusses are; enough shadow for everyone and enough tables and seats. Not allowed to bring your own. Also available VIP boxes, but only if you bring even more money.
Jeroen Appers — Google review
Pleasant aquapark for a family day out, but with a few disappointments.
We visited the aquapark on the first day of September, and it was a perfect day for it. The weather was sunny and warm, and there wasn't too much of a crowd.
The aquapark has a few variety of rides and attractions, a wave pool, and a few water slides. However, the wave pool was a bit disappointing. The waves were very small, and they didn't really feel like waves at all.
There are only a few rides that are suitable for children under 120 cm. There is a small splash pad for toddlers, but it's not very big.
Overall, we had a pleasant day at the aquapark. It was a good place to cool off and have some fun in the sun. However, if you're looking for a water park with a lot of thrill rides, this might not be the place for you.

Sagunto Castle, located about 25 kilometers north of Valencia, is a historic site with origins dating back to the Iberian period. The castle offers sprawling remains and partly-restored structures such as the Roman theatre, Gothic architecture, and the old Jewish quarter. The ancient fortification's walls stretch for about a kilometer and provide stunning views over the town and sea.

Free to enter and walk around, but probably not worth the trip out from Valencia for. There are information points across the town but these disappear once inside the castle grounds itself, so you’re left with an odd mixture of Roman ruins, apparently medieval gates, and then recently renovated concrete additions. Hard to tell what you were looking at.
Tom Beck — Google review
We were there on a Monday when it was closed. Still climbed the hill to see the castle, the views were amazing. You can completely walk around the castle and there are information boards. When we reached the other side we thought we could as well go around completely, but at some point there were no clear paths and sometimes we had to climb down from rocks. The views are also not that great from there so it’s better to just turn around when you reach the first half. Also make sure to wear good shoes.

Very interesting old fortress. Beautiful views. A bit strenuous up parts of the hill. The theatre is another amazing place to go to see.

Amazing history. Great walk around. People complained that it's in ruins, but I thought there was still plenty to see. There is virtually no parking. Bathrooms were broken when we were there. Google maps did not give the correct directions to get there. We did eventually find it on our own. If you go to the old city center you will be able to find your way and people to help with directions from there. This is across the bridge from when we entered town then back over on another bridge just on the other side.
Emily Luscombe — Google review
We parked in the town and walked up to the castle. It was free, and not a long walk so I can recommend it to virtually anyone. Mind you, I probably wouldn't visit during the height of summer of around the middle of a hot day.
Great views and, in my opinion, worth a visit.

So glad we visited. Nearly didn’t after being put off by YouTube videos!!!
It’s a unique setting and worth the trip. A beautiful 20 degrees and a cool spring breeze. Fantastic views. Blissful.
The Roman theatre has been lambasted for its renovation. I was prepared for disappointment but I really loved the space.

At the top of the hill of Sagunto lays the ruins of this roman castle. Unfortunately there's no information to follow up during your visit. The views to the Mediterranean are really beautiful but the lack of information regarding the complex let me feeling empty of knowledge.
Carla Redondo — Google review
A nice, big castle with remnants from different periods. If you just know what and where to look for, this place is like a journal spanning millenia.
Pieces from Roman rule, Arabs, French and what not!!
- The hike from Sagunto train station isn't difficult, I'd say 3/10 on difficulty scale
- Entry is free
- There are not many signages, jus go there for exploration
- Phenomenal 360 degree views
- The visitor centre houses some historic artefacts
- There is also a small museum inside the castle, with mostly Roman era inscriptions
Now, some of the restoration is done with modern methods and if you are hardcore history buff, you'd be disappointed.
Nevertheless, worth visiting once.

Segunto Castle offers a captivating experience, and I'm thrilled to share my positive impressions. Firstly, the fact that it's a free site to visit makes it accessible and budget-friendly. The ease of reaching the area by train from Valencia adds to its convenience.
The sheer size of the site is impressive, providing a rich and immersive experience. Navigating through the castle is a delight, with the free audio guide enhancing the visit. I recommend bringing earbuds to fully appreciate the detailed commentary as you explore the site.
The historical significance of Segunto Castle adds a fascinating layer to the visit, and the breathtaking views from various vantage points are truly memorable. The inclusion of hiking trails around the site makes it an ideal destination for both hikers and dog enthusiasts, adding versatility to the overall experience.

Unbelievable castle with Roman forum. Absolutely no entrance fee and an easy train journey from Valencia.
Jennie Walker — Google review
Beautiful ruins, more a citadel than a castle. Quite big, needs time to explore all parts, very nice view all around. Uphill path to walk to entrance, challenging for weak knees. Small museum building (bathrooms available but out of order when we visited).
M S (MTV) — Google review
The views from the castle are truly spectacular. The museum, while very interesting, doesn't provide much information.
This place is not for you if you aren't in shape. There is a LOT of climbing involved to reach the entrance, and more climbing, and scrambling over rocks, once you're inside.
That said, if you're fit it's definitely worth seeing and taking the time to look around.
If you don't want to climb all the way to the top, there is a small, Roman amphitheater that has been restored and is easily reachable and worth seeing.

Beautiful place, one of the most impressive I saw.
It is incredible that it is there, and to think what it was like in its heyday, the entire site it covered, and how old it is.
Whenever I can I stop by again and discover that I like it a little more.
Although it lacks a little maintenance, it is a great place to go for a walk, to sit and rest, to hang out.
And from where you see it, it looks beautiful, but I think one of the best (distant) postcards you can have is from the road bridge at the Renfe station (Sagunto), it is spectacular as you see it.

The Oceanographic aquarium in Valencia is the largest of its kind in Europe and contains nearly 500 different species of marine life. The building owes its impressive concrete roofing to the architect Felix Candela, who designed it as a magical space of water and wildlife. Visitors are able to explore different sections of the aquarium over the course of four hours, and it is definitely worth reserving time in your itinerary in Valencia to visit!
This is one of the best attractions in Valencia. Some people in their reviews say you will be done in an hour and a half but we spend over 2 hours and we enjoyed every minute. We spend so much time watching each of the animals, they were all so amazing to see. The dolphin show is around 10 am or 11 so get there early as the seats fill up fast. Some of the best parts were the sea lions, the flamingos, and the most unique part was the tunnel where you walk underneath stingrays, manta rays, sharks, jellyfish. You can see their features up close it's amazing.

Amazing. A must see even if you don't have children. We had an absolute ball here. The day was a long one so be prepared to eat on site to make sure you get to see every attraction. Very worth the price and long day. The children and the grandparents loved it.

We have purchased tickets in advance, but can be purchased at spot. Plenty of parking, daily rate was 7 euro, with additional ticket taken in shops. A lot of connecting buildings, map can be taken at info point. Kids loved it, plenty to see and experience. We stayed about 6 hours and were able to see everything (about 8k steps :))

I visited L'Oceanogràfic on a rainy day in Valencia, and it turned out to be the perfect indoor activity. The aquarium is massive and incredibly well-maintained. The sea life creatures appear happy and healthy, making it a truly enjoyable experience. It was a fantastic decision for a rainy day outing.
The location is awesome, the parking is quite convenient.
I’d recommend to book the tickets in advance. This place can get quite busy on weekends and holidays.

I think it is a bit expensive for what you can see in the aquarium. Some animals, like the penguins were kept in a very small space and the dolphin show was a bit uncomfortable to watch, there are like 18 of them in a pool that is not big enough for them to swim and more so being so many of them being kept there...
I liked the layout, that you can be outside from one part of the Aquarium to another, but for that money I was expecting the animals to be in bigger and better places, sort of like the aquarium in Lisbon.
Also most of the vending machines were broken and it was very difficult to get a drink.
But overall it was good, especially the tunnel where you could enjoy seeing a great variety of sea life swimming around!
Memi GM — Google review
So much more than an aquarium. We spent hours there and didn't get to see it all. The kids had a great time hoping from one creature exhibit to the next. The animals all seem to be top priority and well cared for. So many different animals to see and very up close.
Tye dolphin show was a clear favourite. Lots of fun and amazing tricks. Make sure you arrive early because there is limited seating.

The place in total was really cool, and we had great experiences there. They had everything from tropical fish, to birds to penguins! They also had a dolphin show, which happens every few hours, and that was white cool also, and they also translated everything. Which was good. It does take a long time to visit everything, and I would say you need at least 5 hours to visit everything. The tickets were quite expensive, as for everything, we ended up paying 170€ for 4 adults and 1 child. The food there was also very good, however it was slightly expensive too. Overall, the place was really cool, and I would recommend. But beware, we went here even when it wasn't the crowded season, and it was still pretty full, so you might want to buy tickets earlier, depending on what time of year you want to go.

A magnificent aquarium. You can spend almost a full day in it. An aquarium that hosts animals that you may not see in your life. It is very pleasant to walk in. Every detail is very well thought out. You can also coincide with events inside. There was an event with dolphins. Although I was against the use of animals in these events for commercial reasons, it was a good event. I felt sorry for the small area reserved for penguins. I am saddened by the confinement of living things that were brought from their natural habitats to small spaces.

Boss day out. Kids love it here. Lots to do and seem food is good but expensive. Toilets everywhere which is always a plus with 4 little kids. Not like your usual aquarium can spend a good part of the day here and not go bored. Dolphin show is good. So are the shark area. Lots of good stuff and good staff. 4D show is also good abs with the extra for the shark one.
William Burnett — Google review
Huge place that will require several hours for the best visit. Make sure to keep your kids well fed and happy to ensure that everyone will have a good time in yours and the others' groups.
The exhibition will be crowded at times so have patience.
The dolphin show is a must see. I watched it twice because, to be honest, it was a bit hard to follow. Young children around me thought the dolphin show was too much talk and too little action. When something cool actually happened they missed it because they didn't know where to look.I also weren't prepared when and where they would perform a trick.
Penguins would have been so fun to see but the window on that exhibition was a bit dirty and had water droplets all over it making it a bit hard to see clearly. This diminished the possibilities of an amazing, once in a lifetime, experience.
All in all, at first I thought it felt expensive but was actually very good value for money. If you visit Valencia and have the time and the money, go there.

Had a very nice experience with my family here. It was the main thing we enjoyed in Valencia. For anyone that is a lover of animals and oceanic life than I would recommend spending a couple hours here. We also got to witness the dolphin show where they taught us about the latest technology used in research and I found that really interesting.
NOTE: We bought our tickets at the front office like a lot of other people. Definitely don’t need to book in advance unless you want to skip the line.

Amazing place. A must if you can - especially good for children. Sooo much to see. Be prepared for lots of walking both inside and out - place is enormous but very well designed and organised. Huge selection of rays and sharks. Beluga whales were the highlight for us and we feel privileged to have seen them.
Highly recommended buying tickets online beforehand

Recommending buying tickets in advance so you can skip the line. Need to know exact day and time of the visit to do so. There are some discounts if you buy combo tickets with other landmarks in the city. You can google it to see which ones. Also you need at least 4 hours to see all parts of the place, its really big. Dolphins show is worth it.

Such a great aquarium. I’ve visited many aquariums and this one is definitely top 5. So many different animals to see. I liked how they separated most of them by locations (where they would be found in the wild). They had very informative signs. Even though there were a lot of people, it didn’t feel overly crowded. We had a great time.

Amazing marine life centre, a must see. Amazing design and layout and plenty to see. Informative and instructional for adults and children. Good restaurant with table service and a reasonably priced food selection of food from the menu. The portions were very large as well. Highly recommended.

I did not know what to expect, but this place is really special. The buildings and facilities are amazing. You really need to 3 to 4 hours to see all well. The Delphine show is good (included as part of ticket price), but not super amazing, however it’s great for kids to learn. The shark tunnel is fantastic!
Roberto Carton — Google review
A diverse range of aquatic life on exhibit. Displays with an environmental theme are located throughout and feature powerful statements about pollution & plastics. Food services were not plentiful on site, but there are many nearby. Entrance price was a bit steep, but comparable to similar attractions in major cities.

This is definitely 100 times better than bioparc. It's got a huge space almost like the Disneyland of aquariums. It's easy to spend 4-6 hours here except the food options are terrible here so some people suggested bringing your own food. The dolphin show also is very boring, maybe it's very humane and kind to the dolphins but there was 70 percent lecture on saving the dolphins and 30 percent show. Kids couldn't even sit through it, the Spanish audience were the best though, they were singing and dancing thru the music which was much more interesting than the disorganized dolphins. To compare, even a tiny aquarium in Hokkaido Japan had a better dolphin show. However they do have some really cool tanks. I
There was one underwater tunnel they had Atlantic fish which was not so pretty bit there was another tunnel with sharks and tortoises. It's very cool. The bird case was a cool structure but looks better from the outside than from the inside. The octopus is totally cool to look at. The whole area is pretty big but it's not too hard to walk it all. Not really sure I saw it all but the kids were too tired to keep going after 5 hours. Highly recommend the sharks, penguins, belugas, flamingos and the octopus. Very very fun place. Worth the entrance.

This place is a true gem, and here's why:
The Oceanographic is incredibly well-maintained, showcasing an impeccable level of care for both the marine life and the visitors. The size of the facility is impressive, offering a vast and diverse array of exhibits to explore. It's like stepping into a world of aquatic diversity and beauty.
One of the standout features of the Oceanographic is its cleanliness. Everywhere I looked, the facility gleamed with cleanliness, making the visit all the more enjoyable. It's evident that the staff takes great pride in maintaining a pristine environment for both the animals and guests.
The exhibit layout is both extensive and well-organized, with various buildings dedicated to different marine themes. Whether you're fascinated by sharks, mesmerized by dolphins, or curious about penguins, there's something here for everyone. The diverse range of exhibits ensures that you'll never run out of new and exciting things to see.
The quality of the exhibits and the welfare of the marine life were top-notch. It's clear that the Oceanographic is dedicated to providing a safe and comfortable environment for the animals. From playful dolphins to majestic jellyfish, the experience is nothing short of magical.

Hands down the best aquarium I have ever been too - A great variety of spaces and stunning marine life, all in pristine facilities. We went there thinking it would be a couple of hours, but easily spent 4 - 5 enjoyable hours. Dolphins were definitely a highlight 🐬
Would certainly recommend going if you get the chance. Plenty of choices for food if you get hungry too - Great place for a family trip out

Fantastic place! We spent over 7 hours here, strolling around the outdoor exhibits, watching the dolphin show, and going through the many underground exhibits showcasing a wide variety of fish including sharks, rays and eels, as well as turtles, seals, beluga whales, and penguins. And so many birds - flamingos, ducks, ibis, swans, and spoonbills. Take your time! It's well worth the price of admission.
This aquarium is well maintained and clean. Animals appear well taken care of. Staff are very friendly and most speak English.
We went in January, with no lineups, but still recommend buying tickets online ahead of time. Got to go straight in! Be aware you can bring in water bottles to drink, but no food allowed. This is to make sure you don't feed the animals. Reasonable request considering the circumstances!
This was definitely a highlight of our stay in Valencia. Highly recommend going for the day!

There are a lot to see : beluga, turtles, pingouins, birds, crocodiles and more.
You can easily spend half a day there and there are some restaurants/fast foods to treat yourself.
I visited Oceanographic as an adult but I was as excited as a child. Would 100% recommend it, especially if you have kids.

Awesome. We loved it. The spaces are out of this world. I love how it puts a lot of focus on the environment. We booked the backstage tour that takes you inside and explain how the water filtration works. Our guide Nuria was very knowledgeable and replied all our questions.
Also in case anyone needs it there are lockers, the size might fit a very small carry on, but otherwise I wouldn't take any luggage with you here.
We also tried the 4D movie theater, it was very good. An amazing experience, I believe it was only 3 euros. It's a must see in Valencia.

Wow what a big and beautiful aquarium.
I’ve visited some aquariums and I’ve never been to one where they pay so much attention to the animals and how big their living environments are.
This is how we’ve ended up spending almost 4,5 hours here, something we couldn’t imagine beforehand. There are a lot different animals to see. Very good of the park to separate most of them by locations (where they would be found in the wild). Must say that the signage in English is very good and placed at every item.

The Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias is an extremely impressive state-of-the-art science complex set within a landscaped park with a huge aquarium & IMAX screen. The architect Santiago Calatrava is largely responsible for the stunning architecture, which has been met with mixed reactions from Valencians. It's well worth visiting for the beauty and scale of the buildings, as well as the variety of exhibits on offer.
Amazing place. One of my favorite spots and definitely a must visit if you are in Valencia. The complex was designed by Santiago Calatrava and the architecture is just amazing. It includes different buildings, each one really beautiful and overall is a great place for pictures and for taking a walk.
I bought a ticket that included visits to the science museum, a movie and the aquarium. I do not think the entrance to all of these it's worth it, but you can try, specially if you come with children.

I provide the review for the complex only.. as we did not have time to go inside the premises.
To be honest, the architectural designs are extremely amazing. I cannot describe how it really impressed me. You can see from the pictures and video. The best is to experience the complex in the afternoon and enjoying the sunset to take pictures.
We love the water entertainment too.
Definitely in love with this place in addition to the paellas 🥳

Special place, different and a must visit if you are in Valencia. Well served by means of transport and 10 minutes from the center. Futuristic structure, you can visit the botanical garden. the science museum, the innovation pavilion and what is on offer in the period you are in. Unfortunately, we came across a short period of exhibition and we still appreciated the architecture, the beautiful swimming pool with the equipment that you can rent. A moment of relaxation. You can also rent bicycles to go to the park next door or visit the exhibition space which is very large.

Amazing place. Even if you don't visit any of the buildings there, its still a great place to just take a walk and enjoy the amazing architecture. You can take a boat ride, grab a quick drink or sandwich at the small food stand. There is a small park there where you can sit on the grass and admire the view.
I visited l'oceanográfico, it was nice. The kids would enjoy it the most, I think. It takes about 2-3 hours to fully enjoy it, and taking your time at each room.

If you like Architecture, photography, and wandering around in warm weather then this is probably the place for you. The architecture is amazing and provides countless photo opportunities. The only downside was that when I visited (mid June 2023) there was a stage built by the science building that obscured many views and I understood it was there all summer as they had a number of concerts planned in the space. Also, at night it appeared that a lot of the lights went off at 10pm, and only the opera building seemed to leave the lights on later.
Michael Sutherland — Google review
The architecture is incredible. Each of the structures has distinctive features but maintains the space age style of the site.
You can buy a range of entrance tickets depending on which attractions you wish to visit, the oceanographic being the most expensive.
Also, it's only possible to enter the Opera House as part of a guided tour at set times.
If you feel adventurous, you can hire a board or boat and shoot around the lake for a while.
Each place is fascinating and worth a visit. You can also go in and out of the Science Museum as many times as you please during the day.

Absolutely loved this place as the glass and skeleton like architecture goes so well with the water surrounding the buildings. The buildings and gardens are maintained well and they are very clean. These amazing futuristic buildings in Valencia are a must see. We visited on a cruise and the shuttle bus dropped up in the town centre where there are plenty of historic buildings to view. The low rating is specifically for the science museum. I paid €9 and it was a total waste of money. The building itself is incredible, but you can see it for free from the outside. The exhibits inside are 90% Spanish with no translations. Everything felt disorganized which was a shame given how much space they had to work with. This could’ve been an amazing place to visit, but save your money and just walk through the lobby and visit the outside areas.

Families can hire family trikes to explore this vibrant area which also features Gulliver Park with its giant slides.

What an amazing park this is. A haven of peace and tranquility away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Perfect for a quiet stroll, cycle ride or even a jog or a picnic. Pitches for football basketball and other sports. If you like walking and exploring cities make use of this wherever you can as it extends throughout the city. Such a beautiful variety of trees and shrubs will provide plenty of shady spots to retreat from the heat when it gets too hot.

Went there during the sunny time (between 1pm-4pm) so you can imagine how hot it can be. Make sure to bring or apply sunblock when you’re planning to go be there same time as ours and don’t forget water. Oh and careful as well with animals poop as you might stomp it without you knowing it (my experience 😂) Recommended To have a visit on this park when you’re around the area.

Unique and extraordinary. It makes Valencia an outstanding first choice city break with children. The park runs 9km through the centre of Valencia between the bioparc and the centre of arts and sciences, giving traffic free access by foot or bike to many of the city's attractions. Valencia Cathedral is a beautiful Gothic-style cathedral dedicated to the Holy Grail and with stunning views of the city. It is home to a museum with many interesting items, including an Italianate fresco above the altarpiece, as well as two Goyas in the Capilla de San Francisco de Borja. The cathedral also has a famous tower with great views of Valencias Historic District.
Such a beautiful church, full of history and impressive religious art.
The facade is impressive as well as the inside of the Cathedral. It features beautiful Gothic style designs as well as impressive religious pieces, stained glass and much more. We were lucky to attend mass at the Cathedral on Christmas day and we loved the community as well. Such a great place to visit. The Holy Grail chapel was closed at the time of our visit, but I hear it's beautiful as well.

The Holy Grail is here! Believe it or not, you should visit the cathedral. The cathedral, La Seu in Catalan, is situated between two squares. It is built in Gothic style with Roman elements and other. For me, each cathedral is always one of the main sightseeing points. Because it is the history of the city.
You can also visit the bell tower and enjoy the view of the city.

Must see when in Valencia! Entry ticket was around €10, you’ll get the auto guide included ( selection of languages available). Beautiful building inside and out. A lot of Artwork inside which is worth seeing and listening to the history. Cathedral was build in XIII century, so there is plenty history there. You have an option to climb the tower of the cathedral on your way out for an additional €1.5 ( you’ll definitely get your steps in that day ).

You have to visit the cathedral if you're in the city. It's a bit pricey, and to go up the tower, they charge a supplement; but if the cost goes towards the upkeep of the building, fair enough.
They do include an audio tour, which is surprisingly good, and there's a great museum inside that has superb displays and access to the catacombs.

Stepping inside, the interior boasts breathtaking beauty, with ornate chapels, stunning stained glass windows, and the awe-inspiring Holy Chalice. The audio guide provides invaluable insights into the cathedral's rich history and cultural significance. While some areas may be crowded with tourists, the overall experience is well worth it. A must-visit landmark in Valencia for anyone interested in history, art, or architecture.

Went for the bell tower, but ended up staying for over an hour because of the museum in the cathedral. It is a separate entrance than the bell tower and requires a separate ticket, but is well worth it. Not only is the main part of the cathedral beautiful, but the museum is very interesting and actually takes you UNDER the church to an excavated area… which includes a small graveyard. Non-fluent Spanish speakers- everything here is in espanol, so I recommend downloading Google translate (and downloading the offline option, otherwise you won’t get the really interesting info from the sites under the church!).

Another great example of the church's wealth & power continuing into the 21st century in Europe. A good few interesting pieces, rooms & art. If you're spending a few days in Valencia, this is not a bad place to kill a few hours.

During my recent trip to Valencia, I had the opportunity to visit the iconic Valencia Cathedral. While the cathedral itself was undoubtedly interesting and impressive, the €9 admission fee seemed somewhat steep, especially since the building wasn't significantly more remarkable than other cathedrals or churches I've visited.
As a non-religious person, I was still captivated by the stunning frescoes, intricate icons, and majestic statues throughout the cathedral. The architecture and historical context were noteworthy, adding depth to the overall experience.
My main interest, however, was the 'Holy Grail,' believed to be the cup from which Jesus drank. Unfortunately, the artifact was tucked away in a small, dimly lit room and displayed in a dark case, making it difficult to see clearly. The room was under renovation, which made it challenging to appreciate the artifact in a serene setting. Furthermore, there was a lack of information or indication about the Holy Grail's significance, aside from a lengthy audio tour that included unnecessary chanting.
In summary, the Valencia Cathedral is an interesting place to visit with its impressive architectural and historical elements. However, my expectations regarding the Holy Grail were not entirely met, and the €9 fee seems excessive for visiting what I perceive to be a public church. If you're in Valencia, it's worth a visit, but be prepared for the admission price and potentially underwhelming display of the Holy Grail.

Absolutely splendid medieval cathedral with significant 18th-century renovations. The prerecorded handheld tour guide was just right in terms of length and detail. There is a super museum accessed from within the Cathedral with amazing artefacts. The Cathedral itself has at least one painting by Goya. And if you like relics, this is definitely your kind of place!
Steven Courtney — Google review
Gorgeous cathedral with lots to see inside. Budget at least an hour if not longer. It's not only the church (which hosts the holy grail and the arm of the patron Saint of Valencia) but there is also a museum attached to the side. Be sure to check out the upper floor that has lots of artwork and artifacts. Clean bathrooms available on the 1st floor. If short on time, I would suggest the Valencia Cathedral over Saint Nicolas.

A very beautiful cathedral in the middle of Valencia's city square. A must visit when in the city. Beautiful altar that opens and closes like a cabinet. One of the best in Spain in my opinion, perhaps just behind the one in Seville.
Sherwin Clarence Go — Google review
Right in the heart of the old city centre, this cathedral is absolutely beautiful. It costs to enter, but it's worth it. You get an audio device as part of the entrance fee. There are chapels surrounding the main altar piece that are worth exploring. My absolute favourite is the magnificent and highly decorative baroque altar. Staff are very friendly and I highly recommend visiting.

Oozes history. The walk to the Bell tower is a great challenge too - 200+ steps but the view from the top is incredible.
Top tip - you must have cash to enter as they don't accept cards
David W — Google review
What an amazing cathedral. The entrance fee was 9€/6€. If you want to visit the tower, you would have to pay an additional 2,5€. I'm definitely coming back 💞
Monika Halleraker — Google review
Well organized visit with relevant short explanations. Beautiful interior, certainly spend time in the museum. The tower is high (207 high steps, no resting place) and the view on Valencia from the top is a bit disappointing. We do not recommend to climb if you are not in great shape.
Raphael De Wilde — Google review
A very interesting cathedral - 9 euros entrance fee, they give you an audio guide, which lasts about 1.5 hours and tells in great detail and mostly very interesting about the history of the temple, Christianity and Valencia. You can calmly sit on a bench, listen to the tour and enjoy the beauty of the temple.

Cathedral opened at 10.30
Costs 9 euros to get in and an extra 2.50 euros to go up the tower that said you do get an audio guide included which does provide a lot of information
Inside is beautiful and there is a lot to look at in particular the chalice which is alluded to be the holy grail as has been tested and it's really old ie 1bc
You need at least a hour plus to look around

Really huge cathedral!
There's an audio guide available, and I believe you'll need it to fully explore this wonderful church!
We paid around 10 euros per person, but I've read that you can visit for free after 6 PM

Marvellous! It literally feels like stepping into a movie! We walked in during mass, which made it feel even more solemn.
I wish I knew more about its history coz I think I would have appreciated it more.
It’s super central so don’t skip it, you are gonna have to pass by it sooner or later, so take the opportunity and walk in and explore all the nooks and crannies!

The Central Market of Valencia, Spain is a massive and beautiful market filled with fresh produce, spices, and specialty ingredients from all over the country. It's one of the largest markets in Europe and is also home to a Michelin starred chef who prepares bites at Central Bar. There are many stalls selling unique items from all over Spain, making it the perfect place to buy souvenirs or find regional dishes to cook at home.
Very lively place with tons of great spots for food, souvenirs and several other items. I particularly enjoyed the variety of typical foods, Spanish hams, cheeses and the ambience of the market. It is surrounded by restaurants and shops so it makes for a very nice area of the city.
Adriana Perez — Google review
A unique market experience and must-see for tourists! While you might not be able to purchase many of the items, there are still fresh juices, drinks, snacks, and other take-home items. The freshness of every market item is unlike anything I’ve seen in the states!
Colleen Martin — Google review
The market is a dream come true for any foodie. We visited twice while in Valencia and got to try a lot of stuff. The produce is all fresh and the prices are absolutely fine. There are also bathrooms right by one of the main entrances.
I'd appreciate at least a small corner to eat the food you purchase there. There's plenty of outside seating by one of the side entrances, but no shadow.

This market is incredible! It's probably the best indoor market I've ever visited.
I'm almost lost for words.
The building itself is beautiful, but it's the amazing amount of authentic working stalls inside that has to be seen to be believed.
The choice of fresh seafood, vegetables, cheeses, meats, sweets, the list goes on, will take your breath away.
The fact that this market serves the local community rather than pandering to the hoards of tourists adds greatly to its charm.
Not to be missed.
Michael Lees — Google review
The Central Market is one of the iconic places in Valencia. The architecture of the building itself, specially built for market trade, is noteworthy. But the most interesting thing is inside. There are fruit and vegetable rows and butcher shops with such a variety of jamon! Fish ruins are easy to find by their specific smell. But this is not the smell of a week’s catch, but a mixture of aromas of the freshest fish, octopus, cuttlefish and many more unknown sea creatures. Here you can wander around just like that, watching with interest the interactions between sellers and buyers, plunging into truly Spanish everyday life.

Fantastic place. First of all, the building is phenomenal, well maintained and beautifully decorated. The market has something for everyone, lots of seafood, different fruits and vegetables. Of course, there is also the famous prosciutto, which you must try. You haven't had breakfast, everything is waiting for you here 🙂🙂🙂

Very nice covered market in a very nice building!😍 If you are in Valencia you should definitely see it. Fresh meat, fish, vegetables, herbs, etc. A feast for the eyes. You can also enjoy coffee / tea / wine etc at the bar in the Mercado. Super friendly people, we will definitely come again. Love it!❤️Until next time😃

Wow, what an unbelievable site. There are so many vendors, fresh foods and delicious treats all over this place. There are a few things to know before coming here.. Some of the vendors only accept cash, they do not allow you to TOUCH the fruit unless you are purchasing it, it says it closes at 3:00 but everything shuts down at 2:00pm. On the back there is a nice bar with a long wait to sit at where you can grab coffee or a drink. It is crowded with locals and travelers. Go early on if you want a more upbeat relaxed experience because if you go towards closing there is a rushed feel. Next to the bar is a key copying place & a place to fix leather. This market is worth checking out!
Gina Britt — Google review
A must visit for tourists and locals. One of the oldest markets in Europe that has been renovated and it shows; the architecture is beautiful and looks really clean for a market - so be sure to look up at the building as it can be missed with the other eye catching produce on offer.
There can be an overwhelming amount of stalls to choose from and the market is huge, so give yourself ample amount of time to explore. There are plenty of cultural foods and drinks all at very good prices - there is bound to be something you will like.
Minor issue is there is not much place to sit in so be prepared to either eat outside or standing up. Also there is a small fee for the toilet use.
Sam S — Google review
Notice the parrot symbol all over the place, including the old parrot structure on top of the dome of the entire building. This bird is emblematic of the market being the place for news of town gossip! This symbol has existed since the central market has existed!
Numerous fruit stands, delis, butchers, artisan products and etcetera. Also has a few restaurants to eat in while you are shopping. You will see that even locals shop for their greens and fruits here.
I would recommend getting a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice or a quick cafe cortado before walking around this massive commercial areas, which used to be the center of town.
If wanting solid photos with less people in the vicinity, I would recommend coming right before siesta hours so that the place is semi-empty!

Beautiful market, full of fresh produce, food and souvenirs. Make sure you try a few pots while walking around admiring the architecture.
I was disappointed it was closed on a Sunday as I wanted more time there, but I'm glad I got the chance to see it regardless!

Nice place to visit to grab some snacks and taste some of the localities.
There you can buy veggies, fresh and cured meats, cheeses, oils and amazing seafood and even some jewelry.
The Pescados stand was amazing, there you can get some fresh Unis ( sea urchin) and oysters 🦪 by peace and try right there with lemon. That was so yummy!
We tried cheese and sausages too.
As well as some really nice olive oils.
Amazing place to check out if you’re a foodie and you can get some gifts too!

The Central Market of Valencia is one of the oldest markets still in use in Europe and has been declared a ''Heritage of Cultural Interest'' site by the Spanish Ministry of Culture. After about ten years of work it was inaugurated in the course of 1928 and decades later, in 2010, it was completely renovated. It's a popular spot among tourists as well as locals, as it’s the perfect location to immerse yourself in the heart of local culture and to get lost in its numerous aisles filled with local products.

Central Market Valencia is a must-visit destination for anyone who loves fresh, local food and an authentic shopping experience. The market is a bustling hub of activity where vendors offer an incredible variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, seafood, spices, and baked goods. The quality of the products is outstanding and the vendors are friendly and knowledgeable, always willing to offer tips and advice on preparing and cooking their products.
The market is also a feast for the eyes, with colourful displays of fresh produce and beautiful architecture that captures the essence of Valencia's history and culture. The market is conveniently located in the heart of the city and is easily accessible by public transportation or on foot.
Overall, Central Market Valencia is a wonderful place to experience the local food culture and indulge in some delicious, fresh, and healthy ingredients for your meals. Highly recommended!

Fascinating old market building with all variety of foods on offer. Very Spanish and a treat to see all of the fresh produce. Worth going when there is some hustle and bustle around the middle of the day. It opens from 7:30am to 3:00pm so don’t make the mistake of trying to visit in the evening!

This is a beautiful traditional Spanish market with great architecture both inside and outside. You can find pretty much anything there including turon, sweets, chocolates, exotic fruits. It is also a great place to eat small tapas for lunch.

The biggest and most popular market in Valencia. We visited on two separate days to be able to see every shop. Multitude of options from trinkets and souvenirs to butchers and food stalls. If you’re a tourist looking to buy souvenirs to bring back home, this market is your one-stop shop.

The Central Market in Valencia is great. It is in a very good location with lots on offer nearby, bars/ tapas/ street food, seating options a plenty.

Beautiful old local market. Go early! Everything is closing down by 2pm (14:00).
Great option for small bites, local specialties and local meat and seafood. If you’re a fan, look for the local fish mongers with fresh oysters 🦪 and uni/urchin,…or look for a favorite cured meat, paella, or seasonal fruit, all of which you can enjoy on the spot.
For fresh food, be prepared with cash. Some vendors only accept cash, others only cash for small purchases, and most did not want to accept the Mercat certificados (cash coupons) that say you can spend them on market purchases. Most vendors told me they wouldn’t accept the certificates at all, or they were only for parking but not purchases.

The Valencia Bioparc is a modern naturalistic zoo in Spain that boasts an array of African animals such as lions, gorillas, and giraffes. The park's focus on education and conservation sets it apart. The innovative landscaping creates the illusion of free-roaming animals without visible fences segregating their habitats. Madagascar is particularly magical with lemurs cavorting around waterfalls among lush vegetation.
Very nice experience! Animals looking good and healthy. The installation are very clean and well kept. A lot of freedom for the animals. We liked the fact that different species are together kept as in their natural environment (co-living). Happy to visit again. Entrance price is in good relation. You can see that they take really good care of the animals ans the park. Enhorabuena, Team Bioparc!

We liked the park because of the beautiful surroundings and everything is nicely put together. They have a lot of beautiful animals which you can see from quite small distance. We didn't like the price regarding the size of the park. It's actually quite small, was expecting a larger park... you can't bring some sort of food with you, which they don't have written on their site so don't bring many snacks with you, fruits are allowed. In general it's a lovely zoo but there are a lot more beautiful and larger round the Europe...

Bioparc Valencia is a fantastic zoo that is sure to please visitors of all ages. The zoo is well-maintained and organized, with informative signage and exhibits that teach visitors about the animals. The animals are well-cared for and seem to be happy in their enclosures. The setting of the zoo is also beautiful, with lush vegetation and ponds. I would highly recommend Bioparc Valencia to anyone visiting Valencia.
Pros:
- Well-maintained and organized zoo
- Large collection of African fauna
- Informative signage and exhibits
- Educational and entertaining for all ages
- Beautiful setting
Cons:
- Can be crowded during peak season
- Some exhibits could be larger
Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Bioparc Valencia and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Valencia!

Very nice place to spend a day, very clean and well maintained. The animals are well-cared and have spacious enclosures, a lot of clean ponds and spraying water during the day.
Even in hot summer day, there was so much shade it was actually comfortable.
Food is expensive and not very good quality, but you do not visit Bioparc for the restaurant.

Bioparc was beautiful and very well designed. We enjoyed seeing the animals from different viewpoints. Eating lunch outside where we could see giraffes, lions and other animals was a great experience. Your food choices were amazing. It wasn’t “junk” food. We enjoyed Bioparc more than we have enjoyed zoos in the United States. The admission prices are fair and well worth the visit. Thank you.

I honestly loved this place. The enclosures are fantastic as different species live amongst each other. The animals looked relaxed and happy too which I find the most important factor. Plenty of drink vending machines and toilets dotted around the place.
Maria Nagli? — Google review
One of the nicest zoos I've visited. The enclosures are built in such a way as to feel as natural as possible to both visitors and the animals of the park. You will hardly see any fences or cages, it all feels a lot more natural. The theme is Africa and there are only African animals in the park. The highlight has to be the fact that you can enter the lemur enclosure and have them running around you and up in the trees above you.
Emil Oprisa — Google review
Beautiful place, the Bioparc Valencia it is known for its unique design that aims to recreate and preserve natural habitats for animals. .
The zoo focuses on African wildlife and providing its animals with spacious enclosures that resemble their natural habitats as closely as possible. This allows visitors to observe the animals in environments that are more similar to the wild, promoting both their well-being and education about their natural behavior.
If you have an interest in wildlife and conservation, it is definitely worth a visit. Kids will love the place.

Make sure to reserve about 3-4 hours to see everything calmly and enjoy it.

I've been to many zoos and this is among the best. Focused only on African species, they combine several different animals in the same exhibit. For example rhinos and zebras or giraffes and impala. there is a great flow to the design and you usually have different viewpoints of the animal areas. not a traditional cage anywhere. highly recommended.

Awesome park. Very pleasant place to spend time, especially with children. Very comfort spaces for animals, big, spacious, a lot of clean ponds and spraying water during the day, there is almost none quilty feeling on visiting zoo. A really great animal park - clean and animal friendly. The enclosures blend in with nature, there are no cages.
Visitors really enjoy this place! Suitable for visiting with small children.
Animals can be viewed from many angles. Their activities can also be observed in their private places - caves.
Many food places that allow you to enjoy this pleasant park longer.
What is very important for families with children - there are toilets everywhere.
Some birds are "free range" (see picture!)

The kid-friendly atmosphere here is remarkable. My children were captivated by the diverse array of animals and enjoyed every moment exploring the park. The interactive exhibits and educational programs kept them engaged and entertained throughout our visit.
Overall, Bioparc offers a perfect blend of entertainment, education, and environmental consciousness. A must-visit for families and nature enthusiasts alike!

Amazing place with various animals (yes it is not a typical zoo) - the animations are very educational (some of them are only in Spanish) and the visiting path is well designed, no need to look at the map all the time as there is only one main path. The animals are in quite good condition. The dauphin animation starts with a quiz (6 questions) to select a winner to have the opportunity to be interact with the dauphin which is a great idea! However the animation itself is a little bit “messy” as all dauphins are doing different activities on the same time.. the buffer restaurant has a great view on the giraffes and lions.
Highly recommend to buy the tickets online in advance which saves time and money (slightly cheaper than buying on site)

However, we hoped to see more species of animals such as snakes and others!

Truly amazing place. It's designed in a way that allowes you easily navigate to see everything without getting lost or using the map, although the map is available.
You can spend there 2h but I'd recommend spending at least 5-6h. Personally I saw the whole park and after that I attended every event possible.
Activities like live exhibition or meeting with keepers are enjoyable even if you don't speak Spanish.
You can get a ticket online, including the meal which is a bit cheaper than buying it on site. Nevertheless it's not expensive either way.
Bioparc is located 10-15 minutes on foot from metro.
I should add that the whole place is so adorable, I'd go there even without any animals inside.

Omg!!! This place is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen. It might be because I love caves and cave houses...From the village are plenty of signs to the Devil's cave. You can't miss it! At the reception is the owner, such a caracter, such a lovely man ( I think he is well known in Spain ) with his beautiful dog. We were allowed to visit with our two doggies. 💜 Impressed by the low price that includes the visit and a drink at the 5 floor balcony. There is a lot of history, old objects, pictures with the owner's past....so relaxing. I felt full of good energy and vibe after the visit. And the feeling of enjoying a good glass of red wine at the balcony...Absolutely gorgeous!!! Thanks for sharing with us this place!

One of the attractions of Alcala de Jucar. We loved it! Stroll down the corridors and rooms carved into a limestone .You get feel of the traditional cave house. One can only imagine how much of hard work and skills are involved. Watch out for charismatic El Diablo. He is happy to stop for a chat and photos. You may want to read some of his poems before the visit.

We stumbled across the impressively named ‘Caves of the Devil’ almost by accident but once in Alcalá Del Júcar you can’t miss the signs everywhere pointing you to them. We went in with no prior knowledge so they were an absolute treat. This is no small home dug into rock - this eccentric marvel is part museum, part events venue, part bar (with great views out of the other side of the hill), part indulgent tribute to owner Juan José Martínez García, who I must confess seems to be famous though I still don’t know why. You simply must visit the caves, the entrance ticket gives you a free drink to boot.

Quirky place to go and check out. One drink is included in the entrance price, we all enjoyed a red vermout.
We also met El Diablo himself, so you always have that as a possibility.

What a great place to explore! Not my first visit but was for my girlfriend. Great collection of typical Spanish antiques, covering everything from cabinets full of matches, medical equipment, typewriters, farm tools and machinery (to name a few artifacts), my favorite being a mini tractor type ploughing machine with what looks like grannies armchair sat on top for the operator 😂😂. Great value at €3 per person which includes a drink at the far side of the caves, really nice little bar overlooking the river at the mountains that surround Alcalá de Júcar. You can explore further the caves by walking up a 7 stories stairway, so take a deep breath before you do! The cave walkways are fascinating and you discover little nooks along the way. Another benefit is how cool temperature wise in there, especially when it was 40+ outside, so a welcome relief. The owner who is a spitting image of Salvador Dali complete with pointy mustache, there are plenty of photos of him with famous people along the caves, and we managed to grab one with him when we left. Great experience highly recommend!

The fort is located on the top and has amazing views. There is an entry ticket but it’s worth it. You can get a 360 degree view of the town. The medieval fortress closes a small space in the rocky ridge, through a series of buildings and an artificial moat. In the fortress as a whole, the keep stands out, as the axis of defense of the enclosure and a symbol of stately power. It is a pentagonal tower, with two turrets at its rear ends, the result of the reforms carried out by D. Juan Pacheco, II Marquis of Villena, in the 15th century. The place has rich history. A must visit if you are in Alcalá Del Jucar.

Calle Bajada del, C. Castillo, s/n, 02210 Alcalá del Júcar, Albacete, Spain
The San Pablo Bridge, locally known as Saint Paulo bridge, offers stunning views of Cuenca's old town and the Huécar River gorge below. The steel pedestrian bridge is easy to find and stands high above the gorge, providing a great perspective of the city.
The bridge is a wonderful way to enter the city. The other way is through a spiraling road in the bottom near the underground parking lot.
It’s hard to truly capture the magnitude of the city if you don’t cross the bridge.
Carlos Diaz — Google review
Great bridge with lovely views. Going to the castle via the bridge is easier than climbing all the way up

A must do while in Cuenca! Breathtaking view and history.

This bridge is cutting thought a beautiful panorama and you really are able to enjoy the most beautiful view of Cuenca. It is very high and the bridge seems to move. For who isn't scare of the high I definitely reccomend to come and take some pictures.

Very cool architecture. I recommend crossing the cliff with zip line

Great panoramic views from an elevated position. The railing is a bit low which might make some people a bit anxious of the height.

Average day. Ancient town. If there were more bells and whistles, it might be worth driving back to, but not worth visiting more than once.
Susana Chois — Google review
A really impressive combination of nature and engineering.

This bridge connects the historic part of Cuenca with the ancient monastery (Nowadays a Parador). Originally, it was made of stone but only parts of the pillars survived. The rest was replaced by metal.
From the bridge you have a stunning view and you can admire the famous Hanging Houses of Cuenca.
Caution: the bridge moves a bit when many people walk on it. People with fear of this might use the street to the Parador instead of walking over the bridge.
The Casas Colgadas (hanging houses) of Cuenca are a centuries-old architectural marvel that rise impossibly high over the gorge of Rio Huecar. The houses, with their layers of wooden balconies and walls built into the rock face, provide spectacular views of both the rivers below and the surrounding landscape. Visiting during any season is a must-do in this beautiful city.
Sure it's a steep climb up the hill but you're certainly more than amply rewarded for your efforts with jaw dropping views over the old houses perched along the cliffs of Cuenca!!
Stuart McCleane — Google review
Please don't pass this historic town by, stop and take in a real character of a place. The hanging houses, river walks, suspended bridge, cobbled streets, cafe's, bars, individual artisan shops, cathedrals all make a great trip. We will be going back.
Karen Buffham — Google review
To appreciate the site take a walk along the path below the houses where you can appreciate just how precarious they appear.
Adrian Gray — Google review
A lovely hilltop village to visit perched on top of what looks like a mountain. The views are great. Lovely cathedral to visit in the centre with some quaint little bars and restaurants. There is also contemporary art gallery to visit housed in a church next to a very nice 4* hotel.
Alex Webb — Google review
A beautiful place to visit and see. Shame the bridge is closed so access to see them close by is currently not possible. Definitely worth the walk up the hill to get a panoramic view of this beautiful town.
Michael Flory — Google review
Amazing!!! A must see in a life time as impresive is also the bridge where you can see the houses better the town makes you feel like mediaval times if you go in september you get to enjoy also the Fesival of San Mateo the community huge party...so unique lively and incredibly that's hard to described.

Just simply magical! Your must see number one attraction when in Cuenca, Castilla de La Mancha! Declared a UNESCO World Hertitage site since 1996!
Charissa Cheong — Google review
Amazing and precarious architecture! Lovely old town to walk. You can get a beautiful view of the hanging houses from the Parador across the way. There is a bridge that will also give you a good vantage point for excellent photos. It is imperative to visit this town in either the spring or the fall as the summer is unbearable and uncomfortable and the winter is just too cold to really tske the time to appreciate the beauty. You can also visit the nearby rock formations if you have a car. Cuenca is easy to get to by car (but parking isn't easy). The bus runs regularly from Madrid.
Michelle Martínez — Google review
Nice but long walk up. There are buses but not always clear where to get them.
Be prepared for tourist prices. Otherwise lovely for photos and such.
Nice museums for free too.
Sabrina Fenn — Google review
One of the most beautiful towns in Spain. The drive to Cuenca (from Zaragoza etc) is something not to be missed. The change in scenery is mesmerising- from flat dry lands to cliffs to tall trees. Cuenca is out of this world - it’s location, the views, the cobble stone streets and some very nice eateries. The hanging houses are the obvious attractions but a walk of the town is time well spent. The drive along with the walk around the town is very underrated but something not to be missed around this part of Spain
Ashok Hatwar — Google review
Great place for a couple of days, the old town and the hills behind. Town has some great history and the views of the two valleys that sandwich it are fantastic. The National Park to the north west is also well worth a drive and walks if you are of that ilk. Not really a place well known to the Brits but deffo worth a visit and stop overnight, or two, if you can. Great place.

Amazing part of Spain.
Cuenca was recommended to us by a friend of mind.
We stopped by for a couple of days on our way to Madrid and boy, was that a good choice.
The atmosphere, architecture, food. All was great.
Highly recommended

Relatively easy hike uphill but the views are very rewarding. Spectacular views from the mirador. A day trip will suffice, but you can easily find ways to spend more time, preferably appreciating the beautiful scenery.
The Cuenca Cathedral is a beautiful, historic cathedral located in the city of Cuenca, Spain. The building was originally built in the Romanesque style and has been renovated several times since then. It is now famous for its large stained glass windows and ornate ceilings. Additionally, the cathedral hosts regular concerts and audio tours.
Cuenca Cathedral was a place of gentle silence and beautiful light coming throw it's large colored windows. By paying the entrance fee (1€) you can experience the peace of past centuries under the charming vaults.
Heidi Peltoniemi — Google review
Definitely worth a visit while in Cuenca, it's a very pretty cathedral and only cost a euro or two each. The staff were very friendly. We did find on the day we went it was closing at a different time advertised on Google, but we still had a good look round, we did arrive late into Cuenca.
Laura — Google review
It's an amazing place. Gorgeous! I recommend it to choose as a first place of visiting CUENCA. I think this cathedral is even more interesting than the Main Cathedral in Toledo. Visit the view terrace! It's wonderful. Ticket price is 5 euro.

Amazing architecture meets striking modern stained glass. Ancient history and artifacts. The trifolium is a must as you get both a great internal view of the nave & an external view from the arches above the stunning Gothic facade.

We really enjoyed the few hrs we spent in this historic city and Cathedral was one of the highlights, lots of old artifacts to see, I'd u r driving by Cuenca, it is a must see

Beautiful cathedral in this hilltop town. Entrance fee of €5.50. Some nice stained glass. A life size last supper? Worth the climb up the hill especially in the right light. Makes me think gothic kinda like notre dame on a small scale. Marks the centerpiece of the plaza mayor in Cuenca. Come up the river walk, ramp and bridge over by the parador hotel for stunning views.

The oldest gothic cathedral in Spain and a very beautiful one inside and out.
Marina Romero — Google review
The cathedral is beautiful but the girl at the entrance who charges the entrance fee (almost 5 euros per person) did not notify that the ticket includes a telephone guide with which you can learn about the works inside the cathedral, when we were more than half way through the tour when we saw that all the people had the telephone guide we asked and they told us that it was included in the ticket. We went to ask for it and commented that it should be given with the entrance ticket at the time of payment, quite politely and the girl was rude and said that we should have asked us which is absurd since we are tourists and we had no idea. The girl is short haired, brown hair.
Fabbiana Lombardi — Google review
Impressive cathedral with a unfinished Rheims-style primitive gothic facade. It has a rich and complicated history, and inside is full of fascinating chapels and hidden treasures.
Bruce Taylor — Google review
Mysterious !!! Cathedral has a rich history, including Knights Templar, Holy Grail, Nostradamus, the strike of lightning ⚡️ in XX century…don’t miss the views from the back side
The place is must to see.
Ask at the entrance to show you the images of armadillo, turkey, puffing fish and native Americans/ Indians…

Amazing cathedral; the history of it is stunning. Every room and chapel is so nicely maintained. Full of art and history. Beautiful organ collections and they are in excellent condition. Excellent, professional and knowledgeable management teams; they host high quality events in-person or broadcast; very impressed with their professionalism!

Attended a concert here a couple of nights ago by a seven piece singing group. Was brilliant. Such a lovely setting for this. The cathedral is stunning inside when lit at night and beautiful to view from outside as sun falls on the facade at evening time.

The oldest Gothic cathedral in Spain. Theres a cool pink chapel on one side. You can climb up to the top and get a view.
Restored turreted 1456 castle, open since 2010 for tours, events & battle re-enactments.
15th century castle rebuilt in the 19th by Eugenia de Montijo. Audio guide available and typically there's people dressed in costumes showing how it used to be back then. Interesting and fun. Great place to visit. Price was a it too high in my view, costed 13 eur per person... A price of 8-10 would have been expected as there's more to see than in most castles. Recommended.
Martin Ochoa — Google review
Slightly overpriced and a bit "dampened down"for my liking. But great views. It's worthwhile downloading the app and listen to the free offline guide.
Hannes Bonitz — Google review
An awesome visit! The castle is really impressive and in an excellent status of conservation. This visit is a must do if you are in the area. Reserve at least one hour for the visit. As the castle is in the top of a hill, the views from the towers are awesome. It has also an interesting theme park dedicated a war machinery (trebuchets)

Worth a visit! This castle is quite lovely with various rooms to visit. You can walk all along the castle walls which is quite unique and you can get amazing photos of the city. Buying tickets in advance or at the window is recommended. If you’re also in the area, go visit the windmills as it’s around a 10 minute drive so you could do both trips in one day!

Wonderful restored castle. It is a beautiful place to roam around with the information on the scan code in English or Spanish. It's very informative. My only issue was the extra 3€ for views the weapons etc at the exterior of the castle. Still it was worth the entrance fee of 8€
Worth seeing and lots of views of the country and small town. Amazing to see such an old castle/fortress in such good condition, and be able to take photos and your time when exploring the inside and surrounding area.
There are 5 towers to climb up and overlook in all directions, and u will also see three old windmills that were talked about in Don Quioti's novel.
This place is in the middle of no-where, and a few minutes after u leave and look back, u won't see anything again - a very well hidden place with all the hills around.

Really amazing find so close to Madrid. I am rating the Archaeological Park (because the staff were a bit a rude and abrupt). That said, we really enjoyed the area, it is in an amazing state of conversation. Wear comfortable, closed shoes - the area is all dirt, rocks and pebbles, there are very few paved areas. This is not a complaint, just a warning because I wore flat sandals and was constantly removing pebbles, lol. There's a little museum in the welcome center with some of the pieces that the excavated. Really amazing finds.
Michelle Martínez — Google review
The Archaeological Park of Segóbriga features a museum and walking trail dedicated to an ancient Roman city that existed on the site. A remarkable job has been done in preserving the ruins of a vast fortress that is currently comprised of an amphitheatre, a theatre, Roman baths, a necropolis, and much more. The museum tells the history of the site and the ongoing excavations. The city itself dates to the reign of Emperor Tiberius, circa 79 AD! A fascinating experience for kids and adults alike.
Spencer Lambert — Google review
Remains of the Roman city Sego (victory) Briga (fortress) built in the 1st century CE. It includes an amphitheater, large theater, Basilica, Forum and two Roman baths.
You park your car at the museum where there is also a small place with food and drinks automates. The rest is on foot and from the museum mostly uphill
The museum is small but has some interesting artefacts and a small theater that runs a video that you should see first to get some background information. The video is in Spanish but there is a version with English subtitles that you can ask for.
The city is in a splendid location with rolling hills on one side with a river below.
There are information panels at the various locations that are both in Spanish and English
Seimen Burum — Google review
Worth it, give it a visit, it is cheap to visit and interesting. Take a Spanish English speaker with you in the off season as there were no English speaking tours. Tours time on Saturdays at least were 11:00am and 12:30pm.

Such a pleasant experience. They have a small museum that display findings from the archeological site, and video presentations on the history of the ruin city, which I recommend to watch to get a brief understanding before visiting the site. The only setback is the video only in Spanish, lucky for me as I have native Spanish speaker with me. The short walk to the archeological site is just so pleasent, the surrounding scenery is just so beautiful. We can walk into roman arena and experience the sound echo in it. Although this is much a smaller vision as to compare with the one in Rome but it is very worthy to visit and the entrance fees is so affordable only €6 for adults.
Wei Mee Liew — Google review
A large roman village that is being excavated and which is certainly worth a visit. Some excellent examples of artifacts including original statues. The video is also worth watching, only gripe was middle of winter so nowhere to grab a hot drink

Highlight the attention of Alberto, a perfect guide who takes great care of you and explains everything in detail.
It is mandatory to visit the Car Museum where Alberto walks you through the history of the town with a very entertaining and fun talk.
You must also visit the Hermitage of the Desamparados.
You have to leave the car at the dam and take the Camino that leaves, it is 12 km round trip, walking is a struggle up the slope at the end but without cars or heavy packages it is easy and it really is the most beautiful swimming area that I've seen. Clean water, perfect temperature, good access to the bathroom, no danger... Daily from what I saw, bathrooms and bar closed but on weekends it is surely open.
Now, I went on a Tuesday and it was ideal, there was almost no one.

This is a UNESCO World Heritage Site university town. Not the grandest of world heritage sites but very historic. It was founded by Cardinal Jiménez de Cisneros in the early 16th century. Alcalá de Henares was the world's first planned university city. Not to be confused with being the oldest as this goes to Bologna in Italy. It has some pleasant historic buildings, a neat plaza and is well worth a visit as it’s a nice town. Just don’t expect an Oxford or Sorbonne.

Do not come to this school if you are a foreign student and need some documents from the university to apply for legal stay at the immigration office. Even if the foreign student's tuition fee is much higher, the school will not provide the required documents in time. The school does not care if the student's stay is legal in Spain or not, as long as the student pays the tuition, no one cares about the student's need. Foreign students are even being told to go back to their own country and take online courses. The one-year master's program is very poorly set up and the schedule is chaotic, with always impromptu situations: classes are changed at different times or classrooms are changed. The administration office is a disaster, they can´t even get your names right in multiple emails while your email address is literally your full name——they don’t even bother to look at it!

The street known as C. Mayor boasts a medieval ambiance and is home to numerous shops and eateries. It serves as a link between the Capilla del Oidor, Universidades, La Catedral, Muralla and convento de las Carmelitas. The area's shaded arcades and many terraces provide respite on hot days. Along the way you'll pass by the monument to Don Quijote and Sancho as well as Casa Museo de Cervantes.
Great street with amazing atmosphere.

It is the road that structures the old part of the city, which is a beauty and must be visited, I have been doing it since I was little when my parents would bring us to Madrid and we would stop, on the way there or on the way back, to eat at the Hostería del Estudiante.
Well, I think that to comment on my walk along Calle Mayor better than my words is this small photographic report in which I would highlight the photograph of the stormwater drains, a beauty and a detail.

I'll never travel to Toledo without this trip planner again
The Cervantes Birthplace Museum showcases reconstructed historical interiors and first editions in the home of the famed author of "Don Quixote." Visitors can witness authentic Spanish architecture from centuries ago without any admission fee. Located close to Madrid, Alcala de Henares provides a charming walking space with many dining options for tourists. Additionally, the museum offers a glimpse into Cervantes' life and era, making it an essential stop for history enthusiasts.
I may as well post pictures of windmills (Consuegra, La-Mancha).
Sancho could be Samwise Gamgee if he had followed the right master. I’m just saying.

Alcalá is full of wonders and this old house is without a doubt one of them. It is however insanely crowded by ruthless tourists who flock for a gratis experience. Not a must have
Krzysztof Nosek — Google review
Intersting, even if you are not a fan of Cervantes' work, seeing how one lived during that era is fascinating. Can you spot the English grammar error in the sign? Hopefully, this stimulates the local tourist authority to fix it. This is a university town, after all. Such visible errors are....ironic, to say the least.

C. Mayor, 48, 28801 Alcalá de Henares, Madrid, Spain
The Royal Palace of Aranjuez, an 18th-century royal residence, boasts ornately decorated rooms including a dance hall and throne room. Originally commissioned by Philip II in 1561 to replace the old Aranjuez residence, the palace was completed by Philip V in 1715. The palace features over 300 rooms filled with royal ornamentation and is reminiscent of France's Versailles. Located near Madrid, it's easily accessible by train from Atocha station for a day trip.
If you have ever listened to the well-known "concerto de Aranjuez" by Joaquin Rodrigo, then this is definitely a destination not to be missed since it was the inspiration for the masterpiece of Rodrigo!
A wonderful town with the amazing palacio real plus various gardens surrounding it invite you for a walk ,preferably during spring !
Ken Konrad Kramer — Google review
Nice palace, definitely come visit it for free if you can. It's a bit small though, and one would expect the garden to be more well maintained.
There are around 10-12 rooms accessible by the public where the Spanish monarchs used to spend their time surrounded by luxury.
Ricardo Sandez — Google review
Far from the biggest or the best palace I’ve ever seen.
The palace has small gardens that need quite a bit of maintenance and uplifting. There are scattered hours in which the fountains are on which would be nicer, I guess, but the gardens aren’t much to write home about.
As for the interiors, there are some lovely rooms inside the palace — the most extraordinary being the Moorish-influenced one, which really is stunning. However, there are not many rooms that are accessible to the public via the route given. You can be done with the interiors of the palace within 45 minutes. At a push, you could spend 1.5 hours. The staff are nice enough but this is also yet another palace/museum in the wider Madrid area that does not allow photography inside. Bizarre considering other palaces in Europe allow photography and this palace was quite a bit quieter than others I’ve been to.
Facilities inside are also limited. I would suggest to visit if you’re a completist but you’d be better off going to the Royal Seat of San Lorenzo for a day trip.

A great place to visit close to Madrid. Ticket was 9 EUR and there were no queues. For me the most unique and spectacular room was the Porcelain room. Simply amazing! I am just sorry I visited in wintertime and the fountains and gardens were not so splendid as in the summer. Overall worth a visit.
Kalina Bakalova — Google review
Majestic palace about an hour south of Madrid's center, that's well worth a day trip. I didn't manage to get to inside, but it is just a pleasure to wander around it's courtyards and alcoves, under it's many arches and through its adjacent gardens. The town itself is beautifully situated along a river and well worth a stroll through.
Stuart McCleane — Google review
I didn't get to explore inside the palace, but I really enjoyed wandering through the gardens at the palace. These gardens are not so much flower or vegetable gardens, but well manicured mazes of shrubs, some flowers, and small grassy fields. The lanes are all lined with beautiful full canopy trees.
There are a couple of rivers bordering the gardens and a passing waterfall. In the centers of the intersections of the walking paths or lanes there statues, gazebos, and fountains. On the street sides of the gardens there are hotels, shops, and restaurants and bars.
I recommend visiting in the fall or spring when the temperatures are not so not. Luckily, there is plenty of parking available, some of which is free.
Joshua Michail — Google review
Imposing palace but it didn’t quite do it for me. The gardens are great and it oozes opulence but there are only a few rooms (about 12) and they charge €9 for entry so I didn’t go in. The gardens are beautiful and the architecture is great but not quite up there with some of the palaces of Europe.
david howells — Google review
The Royal Palace of Aranjuez is situated not too far from Madrid, an easy train ride away. Just head to the Cercanias station in Atocha early in the morning and get a round-trip ticket. There are several trains in each direction every day. Aranjuez can be done in a single day, assuming that you start early. You can visit the palace, then the gardens. There are also several choices for lunch in town. They're a little pricier than many places in Madrid because they cater mostly to tourists. They're still affordable. The Royal Palace is mostly about architectural perspectives. So your enjoyment will improve if you take a long walk around it. The rooms of the palace are richly decorated, but won't add much to your experience if you've visited similar palaces in Spain. Focus on the gardens which are inspiring, even if they need to be maintained better.
Georges Younes — Google review
It is a nice palace with many different rooms to experience. The gardens were nice, but many of the fountains were not operating when we went.

It walk through the palace gives you a perfect 'picture' of the extravaganza of royal monarchs in Spain and in the world, in the past and today. The splurge, the excessive, the extreme. Based on what?
Mattew 23: "Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven."

Really nice place with beautiful gardens. Shame the fountains are not always on, especially on the warmest of days.
I have attached a photo which shows which people get concessions, otherwise it's €9 to enter the actual building. We arrived a little late to do so, although I have been before many years ago.
We did do a walk around the gardens and enjoyed the scent of the roses and seeing the little birds in the aviary.
Bear in mind, in the summer it is very hot and often little in the way of shaded areas in some parts of the grounds, however under the trees its a few degrees cooler and rather pleasant.
Really worth the visit, very historical and quite romantic. The walks alongside the river are also very nice and I did see some people enjoying jumping from the bridge into the river and also other swimming. I'm not sure how safe that is however so I would ask locals before doing so.
There is also a boat trip along the river where you can also see the sights, but best to book as it was already fully booked the day we went.

Nestled along the banks of the Tagus River, Aranjuez exudes charm, history, and natural beauty. As I navigated its streets virtually through Google Maps, I was captivated by the rich tapestry of sights and experiences this Spanish gem offers.
Aranjuez is renowned for its breathtaking Royal Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site I enjoyed virtually touring. The intricate architecture and lush gardens surrounding the palace are a testament to Spain's royal heritage and left me in awe of the country's rich history.
When my friends and I were trolling along the Calle de la Reina, I felt as though I was transported back in time. The quaint streets lined with traditional Spanish houses and vibrant cafes exude a timeless charm that is truly enchanting. Using Street View on Google Maps allowed me to immerse myself in the bustling atmosphere of Plaza de San Antonio, where locals and tourists gather to soak in the vibrant culture of Aranjuez.
One of the highlights of my virtual journey was exploring the Jardín del Príncipe, a sprawling garden oasis that spans over 150 acres. The meticulously landscaped gardens, adorned with elegant fountains and tranquil ponds, offer a serene escape from the bustle of city life. Thanks to Google Maps' satellite view, I could appreciate the grandeur of these gardens from above, marveling at their intricate design.
In addition to its architectural wonders and natural beauty, Aranjuez is also a haven for gastronomes. Google Maps led me to discover many authentic Spanish restaurants where I could indulge in delicious tapas and regional specialties.
My virtual exploration of Aranjuez through Google Maps gave me a profound appreciation for this hidden gem of Spain. From its historic landmarks to its picturesque landscapes and culinary delights, Aranjuez truly deserves to be experienced. Whether you're a history buff, a nature lover, or a food enthusiast, Aranjuez has something to offer everyone, making it a must-visit destination on any traveler's itinerary.

Parque Warner Madrid is a well-known theme park in San Martin de la Vega, with various areas dedicated to different themes and attractions inspired by Batman. It offers several thrilling roller coasters and rides suitable for both children and adults. Nearby is the popular Batman - La Fuga ride, just a short walk away. Visitors can expect an enjoyable day exploring all the park has to offer, including its many entertainment options.
The go-to park! I normally go every year with my fiends and it’s already a tradition! The attractions are fun and amazing, the environments are super cozy and immersive. We went at the end of August 2021 / Covid. The rides were very cool, very much nostalgia / I feel like a lot of the rides have not changed in decades... I appreciate the estimated times for waiting in line in front of each ride (although oftentimes the estimation seemed kind of arbitrary). There were tons of people on a Sunday, a good number of which were not wearing a mask (at all / properly), but the workers at each ride were obliged to disinfect everyone's hands before each ride. They were all very friendly and I thought the photos at the entrance were quick/friendly and a nice souvenir, surprisingly well done and highly appreciated.
The stunt show was pretty cool, it seems like there was a lot more set up that they didn't use (flipping a car, falling/jumping from a building.. my partner told me about the show he saw years ago and then they did more..) the parade at the end was cute too- it seems like they offer a lot of options for kids! Rides and the parade.
Areas of improvement: cleanliness of bathrooms, app and signs also in English.

We visited the park on the second day of Easter and it was not that crowded. We had VIP tickets purchased online and had to go to their office right after the park entrance to get the bracelets. There was a bit of a que, we waited more than 15 minutes. There we found out that the skip the line option attached to our tickets allowed us to benefit of this only one time per each attraction and this was a bit dissappointing considering the price we paid for the tickets. We bought there a photo pass that costs 25 Euros and definitely worth but be aware that it is actually applicable only for one family member and that person needs to appear in each and every photo, otherwise it cannot be used (e.g. we wanted our child to take a picture alone with Tweety but in the end we had to pay for it because the person from our family having the bracelet did not appear in it. ) So, a bit of a dumb rule, since a photo pass should be applicable for all family members. In terms of attraction they are cool, but some of them not really suitable for kids (e.g. House of Terror, big carousel). In terms of transportation from Madrid, there are some connections but not really that often. We took an Uber and got there in 30 minutes from the center of Madrid. All in all, the park is nice, has enough restaurants (some if them offerring also gluten free options) and worth a visit. For us one day was enougb to cover most of the attractions, but definitely skip the line option helped achieving that.

Great day!
Good to know: you can leave your car in the parking lot and have some lunch in car and at any time you can exit, go lunch, and then return inside to your amusement. Don't forget to talk to the staff and ask for a stamp in your hand in order to come back in!
Food is expensive. A chocolate/Nutela gofre is about 4,5€. A coke zero 33cl in a vending machine is about €3,70.
Attention to the closing time: more or less at 1930 a parade begins with the cartoons and at that time all the amusements start closing. So if you think you can enjoy the last thirty minutes in a repeat mode for example, forget it.
Parking lot is cheaper when bought online through the app for example.

Been here in opening day on 25/02/22, many restaurants and shops were closed and in general the energy and atmosphere of the park wasn't very exciting. The roller-coaster are great but after 2 hours we were bored. We didn't stay for the shows as it was for limited amount of people due to covid and saw people that didn't get in after waiting in line for long time. I think they need to take care of the existing activities as it all pale and need paint and refurbishment. I think it's nice for kids but for adults half a day will be enough.

As someone who would consider visiting theme parks a hobby this park left something to be desired
Pros:
-easy to navigate and everything in close distance
-friendly staff
-some examples of good theming, especially loony tunes land for the kids
-the stunt show
Cons:
-rollercoasters look tired and need licks of paint
-rollercoasters all felt quite similar, and all very 'rickety' and uncomfortable - no 'smooth' coasters here
-hard to get to on public transport
Wouldn't go again unless they got some AMAZING new rides

VERY DISAPPOINTED with the reusable Cup offer, we bought 3 and the machines are very few and far between.

One of the most important theme parks in Spain. I always enjoyed the park. The new roller coaster BGCE is awesome and really intense. Express Coaster is not killing you anymore and you can enjoy the ride. If you jump in the water rides, be careful, you will finish really soaked. With the Fast Pass you can ride everything for a reasonable price and also you can pay just for individual rides. Prices for food and drinks are good. Attention and attendance are excellent.
Gonzalo Gancedo — Google review
So so. It was good. But you pay full price, they only open at 12 and most of the restaurants are closed. Also, they don't allow food in which, for a family of 5 plus grandma is a lot of money and you barely have options.
The rest is actually good because they have many attractions for all our kids hitting all different ages. But, again, no shows because it is not a full normal day.
So, either you drown un people and have all the options or you have more of a quiet day but with a reduced experience.

The new Gotham city Escape is the best of all!
Don’t miss all the Rollercoasters, each one of them gives you an unique experience!

Great place to visit no matter what age you are! Although I did find the ride Coaster Express an absolute living nightmare. I did see the reviews on it that were terrible and my partner just wanted to try it as he thought it would be funny but there is no support for your neck at all, I didn't care the fact that the wooden roller coaster was old and basically warped but every corner felt like we were going to de-rail and it was squeaking at one point and shaking so much that I felt like I was in a tumble dryer. Please don't take your children on and elderly people really suffered with their necks. Other than the park is nice! It was of course a bit over priced with the food situation but it's as expected. Not many food places were open at the same time so there was queues just to get into restaurants and it was 42 degrees so we just got a Starbucks and some vendor food. Would definitely recommend 2 days if you want to visit the theme park and beach due to queuing.

Nice atmosphere. Recommended, though get far from the stunt fall and batman scape whatever. It’ll ruin your back, mind and throat because of the scream u will have; but the water rides were amazing!
Mahoor Kaffashian — Google review
Overall a good park however some things could have been better. Food selection was quite poor (not many restaurants open) and as I came on a hot sunny day, I felt that some queues did not have enough shade. Coming here with public transport is a pain (metro can bring lots of people to an intermittent station, but bus can only take a certain amount of people to the park, I ended up paying for a taxi since the bus was full.)

El Retiro Park is a 19th century park with a boating lake and rose garden, as well as numerous fountains and statues. It is near the Prado Museum and was a royal property until the end of the century. If you're visiting Madrid with children, paddling on the Grand Pond next to the monument of Alfonso XII is fun.
A vast, beautiful open-air free park that is a must-visit place in Madrid. There are dozens of different locations inside the park itself which in itself are worth visiting.
Out of these places I greatly recommend trying the boats in the lake - great fun, especially with friends.
The Cecilio Rodriguez gardens and the Crystal Palace are also great locations for some stunning pictures.
Be prepared to spend more than a few hours in the park. I’d even recommend spending a whole day in it, absolutely worth it.

An incredible city park! It's large, well maintained, and very family friendly. It's great for running, walking, picnics, and dog walking. There are so many areas that are all structured for varying activities and interests. There are play areas for younger kids, green spaces for whatever suits you, and workout areas if that's what you're looking for. All and all I'm very impressed.

Originally I wasn't planning on going, but I had a fantastic time! The park is very well maintained, quiet, and peaceful. There's so much to see, and so many animals everywhere! We saw many peacocks and stray cats, and the pond outside the Crystal Palace was filled with ducks, swans, fish, and turtles. The gardens are beautiful, and no tickets/admission fees are necessary! There's lots of shade, so even in hot weather, you can get out of the sun and enjoy a picnic. Highly recommend!

Great park, very big and lots of greenery. There are many fountains and small places of interest to stop by. At a very central location in the city and very accessible, to families, tourists and a great place for going out on a run or exercising.

I visited Madrid in August of this year (2023) and this was the perfect park to visit in the city centre. There are several tourist attractions, seating areas, ponds and food stands in this park. You can even go kayaking in the main pond. The ponds have several animals in them such as ducks, geese, carp and even turtles. The wooded areas have loads of birds including parakeets, nuthatches, magpies, starlings, blackbirds and loads more! It is an amazing location for those who like nature, birdwatching or walks. I would highly recommend.

Beautiful urban oasis in Madrid to escape the hustle and bustle of the big city life of Madrid. Free entry with plenty of historical monuments and statues to view and a nice lake. Anytime is good to visit - I went at sunrise and it was very quiet, tranquil with plenty of good photo opportunities and very few visitors. The park should be on any person's must see list on a visit to Madrid.

Very beautiful. It's perfect for taking pictures. It was huge and it had many gates inside and outside. It's very close to Metro and bus station. The crystal palace is inside along with a museum if you want to visit them as well. Entrance is for free but I'm not sure about the museum or the Palace.
There are some cafes as well inside.

A very expansive space with amazing tree lined pathways and places to rest. I feel very comfortable and safe walking alone here. There’s even amazing places to view art. It really is one of Europe’s grandest urban outdoor spots. A nice place to wander around and enjoy nature in the heart of Spain’s bustling capitol.

A famous spot you must visit when you come to Madrid with plenty of beautiful areas to relax and meet up with friends.
Free to access and easy to get to.
A lot nicer in the spring or summer, but still a great spot in the winter.

This park reminds me of Central Park in NYC, but a smaller version and it’s just as beautiful. I loved walking around here and taking in the various monuments, the large pond surrounded with people and also filled with people on the water. The vibes here were immaculate and if you’re looking to do something in Madrid or just wanting to relax then this is the place to be!

Peaceful walk around this lovely park. Interesting follies to look at while strolling the different pathways. There are lots of staff keeping the park litter free and tidy. In the middle there is a lake where you can hire rowing boats for 45 minutes, or purchase a coffee from one of the many vendors and watch the day go by.

Retiro Park is one of my most favorite places in Madrid - serene urban oasis, lush greenery and very tranquil ambiance!Amazing gardens, super scenic lake, and lots of iconic monuments! Make sure you book a boat ahead of time, it is a great experience!

A must visit in Madrid. Such a large beautiful park with so much history. I went here twice and only got to cover a part of the park. It's a nice place to just walk around, have a jog, people watch or read. It's a well maintained park but also do your part and keep the park clean :)

Large park conveniently accessed by public transit. There's a pond where you can rent row boats, several different snack food places, etc. A great place to run, walk or just relax away from the sounds of the busy city. To give you an idea of the size, a run around the park perimeter will be nearly 5km (3 miles).

This is a wonderful green space in the city of Madrid.
The park is so big that you could spend the entire day here. There are beautiful statutes, paddle boats, mini waterfalls, rose garden, and roaming peacocks!

Loved it! Huge park with such a variety of things to see as well as various individuals with some unique acts, such as glass playing. The peacocks were a wonderful surprise.

I can’t wait to come back when the leaves are green. Beautiful gardens and full of places to eat, picnic, play, run, and just unwind. The architecture inside the park is stunning and the layout is gorgeous. Perfect for all ages.
The Museum of National art, Prado houses a vast collection of paintings from the 12th century to the 20th century, with some masterpieces such as "The Descent from the Cross" by Roger van de Weyden and "Las Meninas" by Velazquez. The museum is open every day except three holidays: Jan 1, May 1 and December 25.
Walking this place was such a powerful experience, I've never felt my hair raising from looking at a painting. I literally shed some tears with some of these pieces...amazing collection of priceless art. Go in the afternoon for shorter lines and cheaper entrance fee. Ask the staff questions, they are really helpful. The place is clean, the lighting is amazing and the overall elegance is just superb! Best museum I have ever been. Go, don't miss it...

It is okay. Many of the pictures are very samey, there are hundreds of portrait pictures in there. It is a great museum but I think perhaps people set the expectations too high for it. If you are here for multiple days, I would recommend perhaps spacing it out over several days during the free hours from 6:00 to close at 8PM. You still have to reserve your free ticket online. You're not allowed to take pictures but I was able to take these before they told me no.

A must visit while in Madrid for art lovers, buy your tickets in advance at the official site. Photos are not permitted in the main galleries. Huge crowds around the famous Prado at works but with a little patience you can work your way to get a good viewing. Highly recommend the guided tour which will ensure you view at least 4 or 5 of the famous works.

It’s a nice museum with many great artworks of the history but I found it way too overcrowded and overwhelming. Would recommend to go to the Thyssen museum instead. Also, they don’t allow to take pictures inside. If you do plan to go, consider spending at LEAST half a day. It’s a huge museum with lots of artwork and history to assimilate. It also has a nice cafeteria to have break while you visit.

Prado Museum is probably one of the top highlights of your visit on multiple trips to Madrid. The art work is very impressive and could easily compared to other top national galleries in the world. It has a great collection of the most famous Spanish artists and I would suggest to break your visit to multiple days.
I was able to take a few shots that probably will not represent the richness of the general exhibition alone.
We were lucky not spend too much time in a line up. However, I would recommend buying tickets in advance.
I hope you enjoy your visit. Thank you!

I visited the museum and used the 2 hour self guided tour as shared on the museum website. It was super helpful as the museum artworks are exhaustive and you could spend hours and hours.
I had bought my ticket online so the entry was super smooth! I do recommend doing this as the entry lines can get long, and it is quite hot especially in the summers!
The museum has a couple of cafes which are perfect for taking breaks in between.

Beautifully laid out museum with so much to see. We were surprised to stumble upon a Picasso out of nowhere. Remember: you are NOT allowed to take photos of the artwork.
Also, they were running a combo deal: 24€ for general admission and a Prado book. It was a great buy! General admission is normally 15€ and the book retailed at the gift shop for 24€ alone.
gabby sm — Google review
Way too much to see for a regular visit. Would recommend to get the overview map and pick a few favorites to go see because it would likely take a day or more to do it all justice. Though for only 15 euro a return visit another day is a good option.
Particularly wanted to see the Goya's Black paintings. They had a room of their own with a very atmospheric display.
The museum in parts was busy but set up big enough that it didn't feel too crowded.

Came here on a free day and the line went around the building. We were discouraged by the line and while we debated on where else to go we noticed the line was moving consistently, so we decided to try. 20 mins later we were in! The line moves fast. The ticket booth hands out only one ticket per patron, so make sure your entire party is with you. Photography is not permitted in some galleries. Overall, a beautiful museum with an excellent collection.

Finally I get to see the real painting of Bosch’s Garden of Earthly Delights! It’s hard to imagine someone from the 1400s painted this! And of course, the museum also housed many other famous paintings! This is the reason why I’m in Madrid! Mission accomplished. No photo taking in the museum though I saw some did… not my problem 🤣

Fantastic museum with beautiful collection. One should plan 3 - 4 hours to see everything without pacing. The only disappointing thing is the entry - this could be definitely organized better, also another point - the map of the museum could be also designed somehow better with a kind of route to follow. Sometimes you need to wonder in which room exactly you are. Minor improvements, but above all - absolutely worth visiting

This museum is incredible,it is the must to do in Madrid ! Obviously, the museum is huge, so if you want to enjoy every corner of it, it will take time. At least 3h in your day is great ! The plan and the organisation of the rooms are a bit messy, so make a list of artwork you want to see if you are in a hurry. Take your ticket in advance if you can. Don't forget to visit the shop, nice souvenir to buy. The staff inside were all very kind.

Great museum to visit, especially for lovers of art between the 15th to the 20th century emphasis on religious art. The museum showcases paintings and sculptures from famous artists such as Goya, Caravaggio and more.
Taking photos is not permitted once inside.

One of the biggest museums of art I saw.
Take your time if you enjoy paintings, because there are a lot, and I mean a lot, of them!

IMO, a must-visit museum in Madrid. There are many things to see and the good news is the exhibits are well organized. Strictly prohibited to snap photos although I saw several sneaking shots. Just avoid getting caught. 😄
Don’t forget to pick up a brochure at the information counter which is available in several languages. It’s quite handy as it provides the layout of the museum and the star pieces in each room. Hence, if you don’t have an entire day free to inspect each piece of artwork, make sure to view the most important or significant artwork in a room. That’s what we did and it saved us a lot of time while enjoying the best works of renowned masters.

It’s a gorgeous museum with a great collection. Unfortunately, we had issues trying to buy tickets online (they charged me but never emailed the tickets), and then we were yelled at for trying to take a photo. I’ve been to multiple art museums and have never experienced the no photo rule, so this should be MUCH clearer and marked with signs instead of shouting staff.

Prado is one of the best museum I ever been. Amazing collection. Good advice - buy tickets online to avoid time waste in a long queue. You can definitely save an hour.
Alexey Tee — Google review
While I admire the richness of the Prado Museum's collection, the visitor experience here needs improvement.
Despite buying tickets online in advance, we were waiting to enter about 50 minutes. Security check was slow, if employees were not speaking with each other it could be faster. However, we came around 13 and when we left the building after 16 the queue for entrance were much smaller, so maybe it is a good idea to come in the late afternoon.
Navigating through the museum is also a bit chaotic. We were able to find all the pictures we were interested in, but got lost on the way out.
The web site of the museum is really great through.

Better purchase tickets online, but be aware of an extra commission which is still worth it as the queues to the ticket office might get very long.
The museum is an art overdose. It features works of world famous artists including such names as Raphael, Titian, Goya, Velázquez, Caravaggio, Rubens, Tenier, Bosch and many others.

The Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum is a huge art museum with a range of collections from the 13th to the 20th centuries. It's housed in Villahermosa Palace, which is also home to other museums including the Prado and Reina Sofia.
A superb museum. This is a collection that ranges all the way through a really long period of time, inclusive of medieval art, the Renaissance, and through to modern art. It also tells the story very well. It was a pleasure to walk these galleries and see some genuine masterpieces in the collection.
Facilities are great. Good toilets, good outdoor café, and interesting temporary exhibitions too that compliment the permanent collection.
Cannot recommend enough and out of the ‘Big 3’ museums in Madrid, this is only second behind the Reina Sofia and a significantly better experience than the Prado.

An unforgettable experience.
The building is precious, right at the center of Madrid in a sunny day you can enjoy every corner of this place.
The history and the art that hangs in the walls are priceless. The beauty of every painting is complemented with a great space, amazing stuff and soft lighting that will transport you straight to America in the 80’s or a canal in Venice, or maybe a garden where Monet will ensure you never want to leave.
This is the best museum I have ever been, not only for the art but for how comfortable and easy is to move around.
I paid £18 with £5 towards the audioguide. Worth every penny.

Amazing private collection of art, almost 800 pieces! Also currently the only major art museum in Madrid that has free hours for more than 2 hours: 12-4pm on Sundays (line was 15 minutes). Great collection of ancient and medieval Christian art, Dutch masters, Spanish painters - and 20th century European and American art movements, including some very contemporary pieces. You could spend all day in here - but it's not overwhelming or overcrowded like the Prado or Reina Sofia. Don't miss it!

Wonderful museum and so much to see. Very spacious. Quite a lot of people in late February but not overly crowded. Many famous artist’s paintings in one place. Restroom and cafe. A little tricky to follow the rooms with the audio guide as there were 2 collections in separate areas plus the full time collection (in which I walked through in reverse order, oh well!) Buy ticket online and hopefully scoot right through as I did! Don’t take food, drinks, large handbag or backpack. Photos are allowed unlike at the Prado.

This is a wonderful museum in a very easy to access place for anyone who has just visited The Prado museum. The tickets to the permanent collection are more than enough and you don't have to get the extra tickets to the temporary exhibits to get value for your money. There is no map of the place and the website is very sparse, so you will have to rely on your own navigational skills to make sure that you see all of the art in the museum. And believe me that the art, much of it by well-known and regarded masters, is worth seeing.

We had a wonderful time here. They have a huge permanent collection. Plus we enjoyed seeing 2 of the temporary exhibits. The Ukrainian show was quite impressive. By chance, we went on one of the free days, the line was incredibly long, but moved incredibly fast and we had no problem getting in. The staff was very nice. Well worth the visit

What a beautiful museum. After being at El Prado (which is also very impressive) the Thyssen museum had some of the most beautiful pieces of art that I had seen. Mainly olio paintings. I liked the variety and the fact that they were not all religious themed. Wonderful, really.

Very interesting, what a refreshing change to see lots of modern as well as historic art from the Masters and a limited number of religious paintings. You could lose yourself here for 2 hours easily. There is a free cloakroom where they ask you to leave large bags. Toilets on every floor and a lift or lots of steps. A small gift shop which has nice if expensive products.

This place is heaven for art lovers. Many paintings from both the Renaissance and Impressionist, including quite a few Monet and Van Gough that we had not seen before.
You can get in for free on a Monday, however the queue was several hundred meters long. We took one look at the line and opted for the next (paid) day. A great decision! Far less crowded, much more time to spend there. Here, unlike the Prado, you can take photos.
There is also a seniors discount costing 9 euro instead of the normal 15 euros.
There is also a large display of modern art which, honestly, we just don't get. Give me the classics anyway.
So, something for everyone...a must see for art lovers.

I had a guide (through Viator) and we ended up having a private tour. He was phenomenal: great overview, fantastic grasp of detail. I wish we'd had more time. The collection is diverse, in contrast to El Prado or the Reina Sofia where the focus is primarily Spanish. It's a great collection. This was my first time here, and I was sorry I hadn’t come sooner. The Picasso/Chanel exhibit was outstanding!

An incredible museum with works ranging over hundreds of years. While it is open for free on Monday the special exhibits are not available during this free entry time. I found it worth the cost to be able to go to the special exhibit also. In May 2023, when I went, the special exhibit was Lucian Freud. The permanent collection is extensive and contains several excellent works from Spain and around the world.

This museum is great. It's large and well laid out. It feels like great value. We spent a good couple of hours there, and there was still a lot to see.
The temporary exhibition on the occult was perhaps one of my favourite ever. It had a huge variety of very well renowned artists. The themes were well explored, and it was brilliantly laid out.

The countess' collection is spectacular, so many beautiful paintings! The other collection would be good too, but most people saw it in opposite chronological order, which was really confusing. They should not let you go upstairs from where we were pointed to. We walked back once we were finished just to try and put everything in order.
I enjoyed the lighting and the positions of the paintings.

MY FAVOURITE MUSEUM IN MADRID!
I know the Prado and the Sofia-Reina are probably bigger and more famous, but this is the one I'd pay to see again.
The pieces are fabulous and some of them are recognizable. I particularly love the portrait of Millicent, Duchess of Sutherland by John Sergeant. Very mesmerizing.
The museum itself isn't too big and it's easy to navigate around. The staff are great and they don't prohibit photography and videography.
Overall, it's the most pleasant museum in Madrid to visit.
Make this your #1 stop.

Absolutely loved this museum, way more than the Prado. Wonderful collection of paintings in a beautiful setting. And much less hectic than the Prado.
We had the museum pass for the Prado, Thyssen, and La Reina, which meant we could go right up to the ticket desk and skip the entire line of 20 or so people waiting to buy a ticket.

This museum is unbelievable. Be sure not to miss it! Once you’re finished with the heavy duty religious paintings in the Prado, this museum and its amazing collection will fill your heart with happiness and joy! There is a good selection of impressionists’ works, many of which I hadn’t seen in the USA before, but were clearly were a part of this movement. Beyond that, the modern works were equally as impressive. Loved this museum.

The Santiago Bernabéu Stadium is a legendary ground with a capacity of over 85,000. It is home to one of the most successful football clubs in Europe and is regularly filled with fans supporting their team. The stadium features self-guided tours that let you explore all the different areas, including the dressing rooms, the press room and even onto the pitch itself.
This stadium is PHENOMENAL. Best experience I've ever had at a game and a MUST visit if you are in Madrid. The energy is next to none, and there really is no bad seat. The staff is also very organized and can get people in and out with ease. Also, you won't have to worry about people sitting in your seats as they are very strict which is great. You do not want to miss out if you are in the area.

Got a chance to visit stadium, which was under construction, but really mesmerising. We bought tickets online which saved as 3 euros per person. The stadium tour also includes the museum tour. First time here. Really wanted to watch this great club live.
The stadium will be insane once finished, but right now under massive construction, and it really takes away A LOT from the overall experience.
You can't enter through entrance closes to your seats - need to walk around to another part - then it's a little maze inside.
Nothing is finished inside all concrete at the moment. No vendors, no food or beverage stalls.
Just some random guys selling a minimal amount of items from their coolers. The worst thing is not the queues, but that they don't take cards - simply don't understand why?! So simple to organise, and much quicker than cash!
The seats inside are pretty small, compared to English or most other European destination stadiums. Very uncomfortable to sit through the entire game.
The pitch is amazing, the football was great at times.
Would like to come back when it's all done.

Honestly the stadium is not in the best condition. It's currently under construction. There are much better stadiums in Europe. This one is just famous for being Real Madrid. There is good access to it with the metro. Lots of helpers to show you where to enter. Stadium shop on site. The food and drink options could be a lot better. They only sell water, coke, non alcoholic beer and sandwiches. Maybe VIP get better food.

First time in Madrid, so had to check out a Real Madrid game. This is a bonkers sized stadium fits 80k folks. There was some construction when we went so a little obnoxious to walk around the entire stadium to our section. Unlike in other stadiums I have been to you can only enter through your gate.
Once in, it’s just ports potties and water vendors. They didn’t sell anything else.
But when you get to your seats. It’s insane, very lively and huge. There are no huge Jumbotrons, so cant watch replays or anything of that.
Overall a cool experience, but I wouldn’t say the best stadium.

I recently visited the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid and it was an impressive experience. Although parts of the stadium were under construction, the tour was still enjoyable, especially seeing the vast array of trophies. The museum visit was interesting, offering a peek inside the stadium's history. The tour felt a bit rushed and wasn't as detailed as others I've done, lacking access to areas like the press boxes or changing rooms. Despite this, the experience of being in such a hallowed soccer ground was unique. Our tour guide, Rocío, was very pleasant and informative, effortlessly switching between Spanish and English, which made the tour even more special. Although the tour was shorter because of the closed areas, it was definitely a memorable experience for any soccer fan, and I'd love to revisit once the construction is complete.

Visited the tour and museum. The tickets were reduced as there’s major construction going on to the stadium. The museum was okay, I’ve been to a few better considering it’s Real Madrid and all of the history they have. You can currently fly around this visit / tour in about 20 minutes. Best to wait until it’s re-opened fully.

AMAZING experience! 80,000 fans in the stands! I highly recommend anyone visiting to go to a game. I paid $60 USD for the worst seats on the stadium, and they were amazing! Not a bad seat in the house. The locals are very passionate about the team. When the team song came on before the game, many of the girls around me were crying during the song. So much passion! Please go to a game! Definitely worth it

Nice Stadium, but it's surrounded by buildings. And not much for fans or visitors to do in and around the stadium.
The Metropolitano is better in this aspect. But the Bernabeu has more History and elegance.
Kassiem — Google review
It was pretty disappointing. Works are not yet finished, so tour was shortened, no exit to the pitch, no visit to locker rooms. All else was ok, and most impressive part of the tour were the trophy rooms, since Real has few of them.
Zvonimir Jantol — Google review
I give this 4 stars with a load of mixed emotions!
If you're a fan, it's 5 stars purely based on the reality of being inside the stadium that you've probably watched on TV countless times (that was me). The actual tour experience is lacklustre and disappointing, to say the least. You literally walk through all the trophy cabinets then walk out into a section of seats you're allowed to be in (standing in the aisles in awe of seeing the stadium will get you shouted at by one of the unfriendly 'security personnel'). There are specific rows of seats that you are allowed to sit in only. There is no tour, guide, or explanation/information about the club and its history. No mention of the greats, literally just a blip in time on the wall about the Galaticos. You can sit down in the stands as long as you like. Once you walk through there are multiple people that will hound you to take photos (not of the actual place you're in, but rather in front of a green screen, I mean you could do this yourself if you wanted) the options are with a CURRENT team player only and then one with a trophy. It just screams pour some money here without having an experience! Then you will make your way into the store. There are racks and racks of clothes available, kits in almost every colour. There is one rack for women's clothes. They also do not have fitting rooms, I'm not sure why. There's loads of gimmicky type of memorabilia everywhere, however everything is only based on the current team absolutely nothing covering or including past legends. I felt there is a huge gap/opportunity there, or maybe just laziness.
The place is fairly busy, like everywhere and people are buying heaps of items, I felt that most of them were just fans of the glam at face value and nothing further than that. I also am aware that it is still under construction (I was there in January as well and it was the same excuse) so I'm not sure whether there will be any improvements or real effort put into the stadium tour upon completion of the stadium.
Essentially, if you're a real fan and potentially will not be travelling to Madrid again, pay and go see it. If you're indifferent or frequent Madrid often enough to experience the hype once everything is complete in a year a two, save your entrance fee, and just walk around the vicinity with a view of the exterior.

It was an extraordinary experience visiting the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, especially for futbol enthusiasts. We traveled from the United States to Spain specifically to tour the stadium and watch a Real Madrid game, and it exceeded our expectations. A highlight of the tour was the opportunity to touch and take a photograph with a Champions League trophy, which was particularly memorable for my husband.
Attending a game at the Bernabeu Stadium was an unparalleled experience compared to games in the United States. Witnessing a match in person, rather than watching it on television, was truly remarkable.

The Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, home to Real Madrid, offers an immersive stadium tour that provides a behind-the-scenes look at this iconic football venue. The tour typically includes visits to the player's tunnel, dressing rooms, trophy room, and other exclusive areas. You may also have the chance to step onto the pitch and experience the stadium from the perspective of the players.
For the most accurate and up-to-date information on Santiago Bernabéu Stadium tours, including availability, prices, and any potential changes to the tour experience, I recommend checking the official Real Madrid website or contacting the stadium directly. They often provide details about tour packages and the chance to explore one of the most renowned football stadiums in the world.

Super quick entry, but it’s a bummer that they have no team shops where you can get gear or scarves once you are inside the stadium. They also don’t serve alcohol, which was very surprising. Overall an incredible experience though and I would love to come back!

The Plaza Mayor is an 17th-century square located in La Latina, Madrid. It is a popular tourist destination and the scene of many ceremonial events, such as the proclamation of a new king. The plaza was rebuilt after a fire in 1790 and now features colorful paintings inside Casa de la Panaderia.
Amazing square with magic atmosphere. Great architecture in the heart of the city. Has many exits/enters and beautiful at any time of the day. In the evening becomes crowded. Wonderful place to have dinner.

The best place to finish your experience in Madrid. Just sit at any restaurant during the evening, get a drink and watch how the plaza comes to life. 😉
Relax here if you're tired from lots of walking the city too.
Just avoid the vendors and folks dressed up in characters, they're only interested in what is in your wallet.

A nice square with a lot of restaurants, gift shops and chocolatiers. It helps to have a guide explain the history behind this square. Otherwise, it’s not very special but it’s a good place to check out the variety of goods available.

My visit to Plaza Mayor in Madrid was a delightful experience filled with vibrant energy and cultural charm. As the largest plaza in Madrid, it offers a bustling hub of activity with numerous restaurants and shops, perfect for indulging in traditional Spanish cuisine and picking up souvenirs.
Exploring the plaza in the morning was a treat, with the gentle hustle and bustle of locals and tourists alike setting a lively tone for the day. However, my evening visit left me wishing for more lighting to showcase the plaza's architectural beauty and create a more enchanting ambiance after dark.
Despite this, Plaza Mayor offers ample opportunities for memorable experiences, whether it's donning traditional Spanish attire for a fun photo op or sipping on classic Spanish drinks while soaking in the atmosphere. It's a must-visit destination for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the vibrant culture and heritage of Madrid.

Iconic square near my hostel, one of the most famous squares in Europe. I went when there was a Christmas market, and while it was a nice cultural experience as it was my first Christmas market, the merchandise was quite mid. Love the location and proximity to other famous places.

Beautiful square. Lots of visitors milling around. It was nice to see the newly weds appearing on the balconies of one of the buildings, with people cheering and clapping. Plenty cafes and restaurants to sit and enjoy the view, in the square and down the side streets.

Very exciting square! There's lots of shops in and around the square, and there's a lot to do. Very beautiful structures as well. It can get a little busy during certain times of the day. But definitely worth checking out and going to the various shops. There's even a rubber duck shop!

We arrived on late November and there is already a Christmas market opened with booths selling decorations and toys. It is all quite christmassy but do not expect it to be spectacular. It was nice to spend like 15-20 minutes here.

Beautiful plaza with a lot of great energy. Lots of people, but the plaza is so big it didn't feel too crowded -We were there end of March. It feels good here, there are street artists playing music or dancing, and people seem to come here just to relax and eat some tapas. I would come back here

Plaza Mayor is undeniably a stunning location in the heart of the city, boasting architectural beauty and historical significance. Surrounded by iconic buildings and adorned with intricate details, it offers a picturesque setting for visitors to soak in the charm of the area. However, it's important to exercise caution while exploring this popular spot.
While Plaza Mayor is a hub of activity and attracts tourists and locals alike, it's essential to be aware of common scams and inconveniences that can detract from the experience. Classic scams such as the bracelet scam, where individuals approach tourists to sell trinkets aggressively, can be encountered here. Additionally, the presence of vomit on the ground and the risk of pickpocketing serve as reminders to stay vigilant and safeguard belongings.
Despite these concerns, Plaza Mayor remains in close proximity to many other interesting attractions, making it a convenient starting point for exploring the city. From historic landmarks to cultural hotspots, there's no shortage of places to visit and experiences to enjoy nearby.
Plaza Mayor offers a visually captivating environment and convenient access to various attractions, visitors should remain cautious and attentive to ensure a safe and enjoyable visit.

CHRISTMAS IN THE PUBLIC SQUARE
The main square here in Madrid, it's definitely worth checking out, the stalls, the markets, the shops and it's generally a good buzz just walking around the place.
Please watch out for pickpockets, but if you're coming here for Christmas, it'll be lavishly decorated.
Definitely worth visiting!

The buildings themselves are nice but it is not what I expected. I had envisaged a more vibrant place. There are some good restaurants and dining in the square weather permitting. However there are no stores which I would have imagined to be there selling market Spanish items. However the surrounding area makes up for the lack. Worth seeing and having lunch or dinner

Plaza Mayor is huge in size. There is police on standby in the plaza to keep us "safe". But it was unmatched with its crowdiness of people inside.
Nice to see the surroundings, until you were approached by one of the "disney" mascot. I don't want to be so judgemental, but better be safe than sorry, I do not entertain strangers especially in Madrid.

Okay on the surface it’s JUST A SQUARE. Inside there is a nice area with lovers locks and almost always some street performers. The atmosphere is nice, everyone seems well behaved. There was even some people dressed as large gorillas. Outside the edge of the plaza is some shops and some restaurants. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the history (take a moment and Google it please) makes you feel fortunate to have visited.
Inside the square are some more shops, a podium with "lovers locks" attached to them, and some hawkers selling purses and bags. What's funny is they all have them on sheets and ropes so, if the police arrive, they can scoop up their stuff and run away.

It’s one of the most wonderful squares we’ve ever seen. We went in the summer but we feel it’s more alive during the holidays. A lot of shops, bars and most of all great atmosphere.
The vibrant Mercado de San Miguel is a popular spot for food in Madrid, offering fresh produce, local delicacies, and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Alongside stalls selling tapas, you will find wine kiosks, sherries paired with tapas, and more.
An incredibly fun spot with such a wide variety of high quality food! I don’t think it matters what you’re hungry for, you’ll find something to satisfy you here. Even if you’re not looking for food, walking through is a fun way to overview Madrid’s general culinary scene. The whole market is huge, and you’ll have to walk through a couple loops if you want to get a good idea of all the options (which I recommend doing anyways). Definitely bustling and a bit crowded, I’d definitely say it can be a bit overwhelming and you’ll struggle to locate a good spot to eat your food inside. Although not impossible, it’s definitely easier with a group who can spread out to locate an open area - and once you have one, keep it!

A tourist trap that is worth the visit, but not more than once in my opinion. The food was good, and we tried almost everything but it was definitely pricey for what we ordered. The variety of foods vast but you’re better off having a proper meal else at a restaurant if you’ve already tried this place. Also, keep in mind that this place is overly crowded during popular times and weekends so try and go during the week if you really want to make the most of it(or just to be able to find a table to sit and enjoy your food, otherwise you’ll be left with no other choice but to eat while standing.

Fabulous food market. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Madrid. Some of the prices were a little high compared to other food markets in Spain, but that's to be expected for a famous attraction like this in the centre of the capital. Average price examples - €4.50 for a pincho, €9 for crab rolls, €5 mini burgers, €5 small fruit pot. A great selection of different foods from around Spain, it wasn't too busy, there were seats available and toilets downstairs. The market itself was very beautiful and the food was delicious.

The fruit market/ stand here is an absolute treasure trove of freshness. I can’t emphasize enough how remarkably fresh the fruits are here; it’s a testament to their unwavering commitment to quality. During our visit, we opted for two freshly squeezed juices and two medium-sized fruit bowls. These bowls were generously filled with a tantalizing mix of grapes, mangoes, pineapples, grapefruit, and kiwis. Each bite was like a burst of revitalizing energy, making us feel like we were floating on cloud nine.
Adding to the charm of our visit was the exceptional customer service. The staff was not only friendly but also incredibly attentive, going above and beyond to ensure our experience was delightful. Their warmth and helpfulness elevated our visit to the fruit market.
In a nutshell, the fruit market is a must-visit for fruit enthusiasts. The freshness and variety of fruits available are a true treat for your taste buds. Combine that with the outstanding customer service, and you’ve got a winning formula for a memorable and invigorating experience. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to explore this wonderful place!

Very fun food market! Atmosphere is great, but it is really small. I thought it was way bigger, like Boqueria in Barcelona. So many options to choose from. You literally have everything here from meats to veggie to fish and fruits. It is indeed on the expensive side but what do you expect. It's a tourist place. The downside is that it doesn't have enough seating. Some vendors were also very unfriendly. I would return just for some snacks and a drink. Also I was happy that there is a toilet and that it is fairly clean.

Wow, such a variety of Spanish foods. It's a great way to try lots of small dishes and wines. The biggest problem you'll have is that you'll get full before you can taste everything you want to try. It does get quite crowded, so if you need a place to sit comfortably, this may not be for you.

Great experience here!
Lots of food options and everything we had was reasonably priced (variety for any budget as well)!
It is very crowded but nothing I haven’t experienced from other markets from other countries. It is worth the wait to order.
Make sure to visit this market if you visit Madrid 🇪🇸

I heard good feedback about this place but still came out with an excellent impression having high expectations, to begin with.
The choice of food is fantastic. You can find lunch, dinner tapas and breakfast churros or a different pastry here. The place is lovely and has an excellent design. The lighting emphasizes the bright, colourful food experience—lots of places to stop and have a meal without anyone crashing you. I also found the site not very crowded, making the whole thing even more pleasant.
Here are a few practical tips:
- you want to try everything there, slow down
- there is a limit to what you can eat. Try ordering just a few pieces from a place
- more expensive does not mean better. Some cheaper tapas impressed me more
- don’t be afraid to try things. You might be surprised
- keep a count: small things add up. You won’t notice as you’ll spend more than 50 euros.
With all that, I hope you will still love the place as I did on my trip.

Great market to visit when you’re in town. I advice to arrive early since it would be a bit difficult to find a table during rush hour.

Very important that nowadays this supermarket is on restoration!
That place is really good, if you want to meet a lot of different new people and try a lot of different food - there’s the spot you need to dive in!!!
Meat, sushi, fish, cheese, olives, sandwiches, seafood etc. any best type of drinks!
The variety of the food is enormous!
Same with drinks!
There can be some trouble with finding a spot to sit or stand, but it flows quickly, so you just need to wait a couple of minutes..
Prices are good and affordable a bit higher than middle prices, but remember: you pay for feelings and company, and it is definitely worth it!

This place is so crowded during the day with limited seating options. It was so much nicer close to the end of the day. There is plenty of great food mixed with mediocre. It is also expensive and a pickpocket paradise.
That bring said, my kids loved the panet. My husband and I liked the beer and wine best. It is worth stopping in for a quick bite and the experience but it's not great for hanging out, especially with a group.

They had told me so well about this market that I decided to visit it and it has fulfilled the expectations it brought. Traditional food market, but with a strong presence of urban food stalls, especially Spanish as expected. You can find Spanish products, although I expected more variety at the level of culture. It has several international food stalls, also with an important presence of communities from Spain. It is on one side of the emblematic Plaza Mayor. Prices are high but not extortionate and on weekends it is full of people and tourists, it is impossible to walk.

Amazing place for a quick bit in the middle of the day. Wide variety of dishes you can have (burgers, pizzas, tacos, starters) accompanied by some sangria or beer. Very nice atmosphere as well, but a little bit crowded if you go in the middle of the day. Pretty hard to find seat..

This is the market if all markets if your looking for good food and delicious drinks. I was surprised at how it’s organised, people standing, eating and drinking seemed normal. It felt like a night club but with more bars under one roof. There’s security officers outside at each exit, which means you can drink and eat all you like just gotta leave the glassware behind.

If there is one place to eat while visiting Madrid - GO HERE FIRST!!! We did, and came back several times - for snacks, tapas, meals. They truly have everything in this "tapas market." Traditional meats, seafoods, olives, cheeses, wines - and more modern or "accessible" tapas as well! Great desserts, great bars as well. Not everything here is 'the best' - but with dozens of booths, this was our FAVORITE place to eat!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Mercado De San Miguel during my trip to Spain, and it was an absolute delight! This iconic market in the heart of Madrid offers an unforgettable experience that every tourist should consider.
First and foremost, one of the standout features of Mercado De San Miguel is that it's free to enter. This is a huge bonus, as it allows you to explore this food lover's paradise without any upfront costs. Once inside, you'll find yourself surrounded by a cornucopia of culinary delights. The food here is nothing short of amazing – from traditional Spanish tapas to gourmet international cuisine, there's something for every palate.

One of my favorite food markets that I've visited around the world! Touristy and incredibly crowded no matter when you come, but the wonderful variety and excellent quality of food, from empanadas to tapas to even olives, are worth the trip. Not many places to sit and eat, but reasonable prices.

I give a try but this is super typical touristic place. It’s always extremely crowded, there is no place to seat. As you want to try many things you end up with paying about 100 euro for 2 people. Eating and drinking in a rush, without a proper place to sit and enjoy the meal. There is so many things to try, the variety of little stands is a bit overwhelming. It’s great to go and try something but in my case it was once and… I can pass by… but this amount of people and eating while walking it’s not my thing.

Amazing mercado where you can just stroll up, order food from one place, a drink from another and dessert from somewhere else and enjoy yourself! Yes, it does get super busy, and yes it does draw both locals and tourists, but it is oh so worth it. That said, it's a place worth visiting because it's easy to find a bit of every food and there are good wine options. We decided to eat at a kiosk selling tapas for 2 euros and it was ok, well worth the experience in this well-known place. I recommend a visit

The Mercado de San Miguel is a renowned gourmet market in the heart of Madrid, Spain.
Location: Plaza de San Miguel, right next to Plaza Mayor
What to Expect: Over 30 stalls selling high-quality Spanish food and drinks. Find tapas, pintxos, jamón ibérico, fresh produce, seafood, cheese, sweets, wine, beer and more.
Ambiance: Elegant atmosphere with a focus on quality and presentation. The market is almost always crowded, especially during peak hours (between 10am to 1pm and 5pm to 8pm) and on weekends. The market is almost always full of people and you will have a hard time finding a place to sit, you will mostly be standing on one leg. Consider visiting during weekdays or earlier in the day for a more relaxed experience.
The prices are quite high and you will spend more than you planned.
Many stalls offer small portions or individual servings, perfect for trying a variety of things.
If you're on a tight budget, you can still browse the stalls and enjoy the atmosphere without having to buy anything.
The name "San Miguel" refers to Saint Michael the Archangel, a revered figure in Catholicism. He is not directly associated with the Mercado de San Miguel itself, but churches and markets are sometimes named after saints.

The Royal Palace of Madrid is an 18th-century, ridge-top palace for state occasions, with tours of rooms full of art and antiques. The palace is the official residence of the Spanish Royal Family and is one of the largest functioning royal palaces in Europe.
This was my first time visiting Madrid, the Royal Palace is a MUST SEE attraction if you are in town.
The architecture and scale of building is stunning. Make sure to have a tour of the kitchen (you pay extra) but it’s very informative and it’s a piece of history.
To the right as you enter the main patio there is armory that seem to be hidden, inside you will find full armors on display! A nice little surprise.
Strongly recommend!

I have to say, it was an amazing experience. I am giving it a well-deserved 5-star rating. The palace exudes a captivating atmosphere that transports you to a different era. The grandeur and beauty of the architecture left me in awe.
Exploring the different rooms and halls was a treat for history and art enthusiasts like myself. The attention to detail in the decorations and furnishings is impressive. Each room has its own unique charm, and I couldn't help but admire the exquisite craftsmanship.
The palace grounds are equally magnificent, offering stunning views and well-maintained gardens. It's a perfect place to take a leisurely stroll and soak in the ambiance. The staff were friendly and helpful, providing valuable information about the palace's history and guiding us throughout our visit.

I'm going to be honest, I didn't go inside but I would if I budgeted better. It's only £12 entry, I'm just here backpacking for a festival. The grounds however were stunning and the view was amazing. The inside is supposed to be stunning and a lot of people's fav palace. My tour guide says he loves documentaries but it took him three trips to get through all the audio guide content. There is tons. Anything and everything you want to know about in there, they have info on it. So good for people who love interior design, architecture, and history. But the outside is stunning.
Buy your tickets in advance to skip a long queue.

An excellent tour of very extravagant architecture and decor. We purchased tickets online to skip the queue to buy them on site. We also paid for the audio guides so that we could listen to the history and get context as we went along.
You can go at your own pace and stop for the things you find more interesting or take your time and soak in all that the tour has to offer.
Well worth the admission fee. It seems like each room has something new and unique to offer, let alone the entire building itself.
There is also the armoury section where you can see weapons and armour through the years.
Pictures not allowed in all of the rooms.

The national palace of Madrid is breathtaking. All the rooms are gorgeously decorated. The location is right in the centre of the city. I definitely recommend booking your tickets in advance if you don't want to wait for more than 1h. We saw everything in an hour. The shop by the exit had lots of nice things. If you visit Madrid, definitely come check the palace.

Lovely palace with a very rich history. The information signs in the palace are fairly sparse, so I would recommend getting the audio guide or booking a guided tour. Make sure to book the tickets several days in advance as they sell out pretty regularly. There is a luggage control at the entrance, so make sure to leave knives and similar items at home.

The Royal Palace of Madrid is an architectural marvel and a must-see destination for any visitor to the city. Its stunning design and rich history make it a truly remarkable place. While some of the most beautiful rooms in the palace do not allow photography, visitors are able to capture memories in designated areas throughout the tour.
Martha Valle — Google review
The exterior of the palace looks more beautiful than the interior. The elegant architecture is befitting to be abode for the royalty.
The white palace contrasted by the blue sky creates a stunning atmosphere for photo opportunities. The large open space at the palace exterior helped create a feeling of openness.
The visitors are only permitted to visit in a designated route, and photography is not allowed in the majority of the rooms. The information boards are in Spanish and English.
I strongly suggest visiting in the morning because the queue and waiting time can be insane in the evening. You may not be able to enter if it is time to close.
Bring a debit/credit card for payment. They don't accept cash.
Should you visit? Yes, the palace is simply beautiful.

This palace was absolutely stunning and the views of the city were incredible. The rooms were gorgeous; however, I wish there were more current pictures/paintings of the reigning King, Queen, and their family. Stunning, absolutely beautiful, and totally worth it! Even if you just see the outside of the castle, it's still beautiful. But there's so so so much more inside and I highly recommend buying the tickets to go inside. There's a ton of rooms you can walk through, and they are so elaborate and elegant, and it's like nothing I've ever seen before. Magnificent castle.
Note - there are a lot of rooms that you aren't allowed to take pictures in, so my pictures only show the good rooms. You can't take pictures of the "amazing" rooms!!

Was able to go WITHOUT A RESERVATION by getting there at 9:15 and waiting until it opened at 10. Plus it's actually cheaper this way since you don't have to pay the extra online booking fees. By 9:45 the line to enter without a reservation was very long, so make sure you get there early.
I'd definitely recommend getting here as early as possible, we had several entire rooms to ourselves during the tour.
You can't take photos for most of it. Only the entryway and exterior allow photos.

This landmark is a gorgeous place to visit. I would highly recommend purchasing a tour or the audio tour. This is not your typical museum. Each room was more gorgeous than the next but I would have loved to learn a little bit more about what I was looking at. There are some placards with minimal information sprinkled throughout the experience. We bought tickets a head of time which allowed us to skip the line. We did have to wander a bit to figure out where to enter the palace, but eventually found it. Another recommendation I have is to place this a little further into your trip, it is killer to do this much walking when trying to shake the jet lag. We can make our way through a museum pretty efficiently, but this kicked our jet lagged butts! There are no pictures allowed inside most of the areas, but it really is quite breath taking to see these rooms decked out in the most spectacular art and treasures. A highlight was the crown and sceptre. Definitely worth a visit.

The exterior of the palace is beautiful, but it has become even better. We were fortunate to be here relatively early because of the short line. After passing the check and cash register, you might feel like before, and walk in the courtyard of the palace. Inside the palace, you can unfortunately not take pictures in certain rooms, but still fantastically look at the powerful art pieces. Unfortunately, we didn't come to the peacocks which were outside.

Talk about a MASSIVE structure. Just from the front, it looks gigantic but when you go around the side, it just gets bigger and bigger. The place is magical. Didn't make it inside as we didn't buy tickets in advance and the lines were really long. Was told that it is free to get in after 5 or 6 pm but we had to keep on moving and didn't make it back. Wished we could have. The parks around it and behind were pretty spectacular. Next time I guess. Buy in advance and ENJOY.

Lovely to see the history and how lavish the other half lives. Don't see the point in the no photo tile as long as flashes are turned off, hence marked down 2 stars for that. Book in advance to miss the queues and book your time.
The rooms were glorious to behold and the art on the ceilings amazing.

COOL ROYAL PALACE, HOWEVER ...
If you have a spare few hours, check out the house of the Spanish Royal Family. This palace is huge and even from the outside, it's super-imposing. You could get away with just taking pictures from the outside and through the gate.
If you want a tour of the place, please do not queue at the group entrance at the same side as the Opera House, go around to the same side as the Cathedral and queue for tickets there. My advice is to buy tickets in advance to skip this queue.
It's a very impressive palace, but please note - photography and videography is forbidden inside the palace itself and security will be quick to jump on you if you do.
Overall, a decent experience.

It is worthwhile to visit if you are in Madrid. Recommend to buy tickets in advance to beat the line.
No pictures after 1st two rooms. Each room has its own cinque theme and style. It is very interesting.
We find the audio guide is a mix bag. it provide some historical information, but not much different than reading the English section of the displays in each rooms.

An early morning stroll down from Gran Via to the Palace. Was a bit misty, but added texture to the atmosphere. Stopped at a nearby square and took some photos as well. The morning was quiet, no traffic or noises. Just the talk of soldiers near the Palace, who were already busy with their work.

A must visit if you are in Madrid. I definitely recommend that you book buy tickets in advance as the other queue to buy tickets was so long and didn’t move. You can book tickets online. As a 17 year old i was skeptical that it was going to be boring, but its definitely one of the coolest thing I’ve seen. The rooms were breathtaking and I’ve never seen anything like it!

An awe-inspiring royal palace you must visit if traveling to Madrid.
If you're on a tight budget, stay outside and enjoy a panoramic city view from the courtyard where tickets are sold.
It's a central location with lots to see nearby.
Get there super early to avoid lines.

Loved the place, hated the people. Beautiful things and rooms and don’t forget the armoury. But man the people just yell at you in Spanish. And not just me, I watched others get yelled at. A lady tied to use the exit that said exit had signs pointing to exit, get reamed out for using as an exit. I asked where the exit is and got a dirty look. Never found the exit, went out entrance. Saw people get yelled at in entrance. Crazy place. Nice place but man the staff need to take pills. One exception, as super nice guy at the lockers, so friendly super helpful, and needs to be called out for being an exceptional person.

Highly highly booking with a tour because as a group you get in quicker than in the regular line. Only issue I had was that there were way too many people or groups in each room which some of them are very tiny so you aren’t able to enjoy the experience.
