This luxurious resort overlooking one of the longest white sand beaches in Fuerteventura is perfect for families. There are 3 outdoor pools, a Mediterranean restaurant and a gym, making it the perfect place to relax after a day at the beach. Kids will love the splash park with water jets and mini clubs, while adults can enjoy peace and quiet at one of the outdoor pools or at the spa.
This place was great, I'm already looking at booking for next year. If you want kids to be entertained, this is the place. They work so hard & give it their all. Even during the day, there is stuff going on for adults, etc. Food was what you expect all inclusive, not great if you're a veggie, but you will get by. Staff are so friendly, rooms cleaned every day. Treat sent to your room if it's your birthday....loved it!!!!

What a great holiday! The room we had on the top floor had great views. The buffet was decent, nothing to shout about, but enough variety to please everyone.
The staff (especially the cleaning staff) are great, very helpful and friendly.
The hotel is halfway up a very steep hill so if you aren't very fit then you will probably only be leaving the hotel once a day. Getting back up to the hotel after some beers is a killer.

Brilliant hotel! Absolutely wonderful service and the staff are brilliant. Always willing to offer help, very friendly and extremely hard working! No faults with the hotel. They have two pools, one which was heated and one which wasn't but but both are spacious and vary in depth so there's always somewhere you can stand! The hotel is spotless and the views from some of the rooms are incredible! Can't wait to visit again. The only thing to be wary of is the hill up to the hotel which is very steep, but there is a bus that takes you down once a day which I belive is free but not sure as I didn't use this 😀

Our first trip to this area and we travelled for a 5 dat break to celebrate our anniversary. On arrival we had a lovely welcome from the member of staff on the desk as we checked in. A gift of a free upgrade to a deluxe room as part of our celebration and arrival at our room a free bottle of bubble. This was such a surprise and we were so grateful. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Food was great. Hotel was very clean, with all amenities on site and great value for money. We loved the touch of a shuttle bus to get you back and forth the beach. The only addition we would of liked was a provision of a tea and coffee tray in our rooms. However, all in all very good. Would recommend the hotel, especially for those with a young family. Thanks for a wonderful stay. Gareth and Lucy Edwards room 435.

I absolutely loved staying here! All the staff members were lovely and friendly. Food was plentiful, and I had no issues with what I ate. Lots of selection. I read comments, saying it got repetitive, but that's the same as any hotel! Just go for a week, and that won't be an issue! The hotel was so clean and tidy. Very big hotel, lots of space! We had no issue getting sunbeds. The pool bar food was also lovely. The beach involves a big walk, up and down a steep hill, but it's definitely worth it! I would definitely go back!

The rooms were nice but our AC didn't work and when we asked about it at the front desk they said they would send someone to fix it...they never came, three different times we asked and they said someone would come but it never happened. We gave up and just delt with a hot room. AC worked great in our other room we booked for our parents though. Grounds were in need of upkeep and maintenance. Roaches were on the walls of the bar in the hotel and in the public bathrooms. Food was alright for the price. Pools were clean and nice. Great gym but not open in hrs that worked for our schedule. None of the kid activities we wanted to do were open during our stay "princess for a day". Mini golf was closed down so we could not do that during our stay either. There were not many things to do at the resort other than swim in their two pools.

Lovely hotel, multi cultural which is nice, no fighting for sun beds in the morning which is a welcomed bonus. Food good choice in general as well as drinks.
Children’s entertainment staff (under 12’s) were great especially Sara, Marie and Esther a special mention there, Our girls have never done a kids club before but asked to go nearly daily and enjoyed the range of activities on offer.
Staff generally happy and helpful.
Room Cleaning was basic and a little rushed/incomplete especially as the wind was so high our balcony was never cleaned thoroughly enough.
Only shock was 12pm lights out all off, felt like you were being told to go to bed literally.
Water in room would had been a nice touch also.
The hill is very steep so a taxi is recommended.
But In General we had a lovely stay.

The room looks exactly as described, and very clean, the hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. Food is delicious and there are a lot of different dishes every time. Hotel is on the hill but it guarantees nice views of the ocean. The walk to the beach is approx 15 min, maybe slightly longer for return. Overall a very good experience!

This place is just perfect. We had half board at the hotel. The food menu was varied. The hotel is situated on a hill and we had a beautiful view from the room. Our room was not accessible by elevator, but it wasn't a big problem. The rooms are very cozy and clean, equipped with air conditioning. The bathroom is spacious with a bathtub. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Lovely hotel, although be warned, there is a steep walk from the hotel down to the town or sea... the food was probably the some of the best mass catered food I've ever had.
Only complaint was lack of info telling us that as half boarders we were only entitled to free water and coffee even with our evening meal.

Myself and my fiance have just spent a week here, absolutely beautiful hotel, the food was varied but always lovely. The room was very spacious and clean. The pools are very clean and plenty of sunbeds so no need to put your towels on 😀 all the staff were lovely and always greeted you with a smile. If you want a relaxing time then it's great, although it is very family/kids friendly so be prepared but there are quiet spots to sit away if you want to. The walk to the beach is on a downhill slope but a free bus runs if you don't want to walk. A taxi back was great for us and only 5 euros! No nightlife nearby but there is entertainment a few times and always stuff for the kids. All in all we really enjoyed it and recommend it.

Nice hotel, a little tired looking but clean and tidy. Food was average. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Had a wonderful week in the autumn sun!
Jamie Cohen — Google review
Lovely hotel. I read bad reviews about the food before we went but we had no issues. The food area is huge so walk around before you start piling your plate! The fresh fish is great and there's meat, fish or desserts cooked fresh to order at dinner.
If you've got boring English kiddos then there's pasta, pizza, fries, nuggets and cucumber every day.
Wine glases on tables and you're encouraged as all inclusive to bring those bottles to your table
I often go meat free on holiday and have lifetime vegans in my family unit. Their salad/pasta/ rice options weren't as good as some hotels, but equally nothing to complain about.
Overall, if you want to relax, eat and drink then I totally recommend 👌
Jane Whitehouse — Google review
Lovely hotel, great if you are fit as a fiddle. Lots of steps to climb to get to your room as lifts only go half way, then you have to climb, climb, climb. Food is of a good standard and plentiful but as with all inclusive deals it gets a bit monotonous after a few days as there seems to be a lot of repeat dishes and an awful lot of fish dishes. That said, there was always something on the menu to suit and I never went hungry. Our rooms were spacious and very clean. I was disappointed that there was no kettle to make a drink but the hotel was very accommodating and provided one immediately when we asked for one. The staff were fantastic! Nothing was too much trouble and their smiles were genuine and on their faces all day and night. They provided a first class service and made our stay perfect.
Beverley Gilligan — Google review
The hotel does not look like 4* hotel.
Actually it is really outdated and in a huge need of renovation.
Reception staff are very nice only during checking in.
The approach is totally different when you need something or you have a problem.
We had a problem with our bathroom when the water wouldn’t go down the toilet and also water was coming up the bath tub waste.
Both the bathroom and the bedroom was filled with a horrible waste stink.
We reported this to the reception 3 times over 2 days (2 times in person and 1 time over the phone)
It was logged only once and with ‘problem with toilet’ only - which the manager used as an explanation.
We were fobbed off and heard lies that somebody will come over to fix.
The only thing that worked was us denying to go back to that room with our kids.
Treating your clients like that is just unacceptable!!!
The dining area is very busy and messy at peak times (although the staff are very nice).
Simply not ready to accommodate the people in the hotel.
We will not come back to this place. Our advice - Best to stay away.

We have just come back from an Easter break. Although the rooms are a bit dated, they are lovely, spacious and clean. The food was excellent. Meat & fish stations, pasta, pizza, paella, fresh bread, smoothies, fruit and lovely salads. Also a nice desert station and a separate kids buffet which my son loved. The in house entertainment was average at best, I honestly expected more. There was a Tina Turner tribute act who was excellent though.
The onsite water park is brilliant. Lovely and clean and so much fun. The heated pool is excellent, especially as the weather was chilly for a couple of days.
The one thing I was disappointed with was when checking out. My 3 year old son had been poorly for a couple of days and was much worse on the last day. The onsite doctor arrived at 11am so I took him down. I then had to travel via a taxi to a pharmacy to pick up his prescription. It meant I was late checking out of the room by 40 minutes. I explained the situation to the receptionist but she insisted I had to pay 22 euros for the late check out.

Nice place for a holiday. The hotel as a whole was maintained very well. Staff were friendly, and there were plenty of sunbeds around the pool. Our rooms were sea view rooms. However, there was another hotel complex in front of this hotel blocking most of the sea. Rooms were very dated and needed to be upgraded. Walk to the beach is pleasant. However, the walk back is very uphill.

We stayed here for 5 days at the end of January. The staff, location and food were excellent. The pools are really clean and there's plenty of space and sunbeds. Very good selection of food at the restaurant, with lots of seafood. Big variety of drinks and exceptional view from the hotel. The beach is a 10 minute walk. We loved our stay here 😊

Firstly, you might think too far from airport but you'll be mistaken; it goes like the breeze. Our initial welcome set the tone, and our holiday began. Room was very spacious overlooking the resort with a view to the beach. What was very noticeable throughout the resort, especially our room, was the general cleanliness (A+ to our room attendant). Credit to the Food & Beverage team. The food was great, and the theme changed daily, and it had flavour, yes, distinguishable flavour. My hat goes off to Restaurant team for keeping it professional when the footfall increased but managed to service everyone, thank you! Bonus, beach on the doorstep (delight) with multiple shops nearby. The water park was a good addition too. Special thanks for my wife's birthday treat, which was a pleasant surprise. Overall, good resort for families and couples alike.

I'll never travel to Praia da Rocha without this trip planner again
The Playa Del Ingles beach in Gran Canaria is one of the main tourist destinations on the island. The wide golden sand and calm waters are next to the Maspalomas Dunes Nature Reserve, making it a great spot for swimming, sunbathing and windsurfing. There's also a good range of accommodation options close by, as well as plenty of bars and restaurants.
On Gran Canaria we went to some beaches to test out. This is in my opinion the best beach and I really loved it!
The sandy beach is so clean. It feels good for your bare feet. The water is clean, no algae. In the surrounding there are a lot of restaurants, shops and hotels. Also our hotel was nearby so it was a five minute walk to the beach. My wife and I loved to simply walk the coastline or simply lie down and enjoy the sun.
One thing worth to mention is the wind. It can be good or bad. You get to face high waves in afternoon due to wind and it can be big fun. But also wind makes the temperature feel colder, which is bad.

Nice beach area and beach itself but the area immediately around it needs modernisation as lots places run-down or closed down ie the places around the car park by the beach.
Convenient car park by the beach but cost us 13 euros for the day - we could have found cheaper parking though.
Lovely boardwalk along the beach that stretches for miles in both directions that is modern and clean.
Beach are itself is lovely and sandy and clean and because it’s so big even on a sunny weekend day it’s not over-crowded like some resorts.
2 stars due to the immediate surrounding area that feels cheap.
Sue Vogt-Skard — Google review
The beach is quite spacious, clean and well-kept, and the golden yellow sand, lovely.
The wind is felt, and if you can sunbathe between 10:00 and 16:00 (early Juaniary), then after 4pm you may need a light coat.
In some places, there are many areas set up with sun loungers and umbrellas that occupy good parts of the beach, and you can't sit with a blanket on the sand, unless you go a little further.
On the beach, at certain distances, there are stalls selling drinks (cold and hot) and something to eat.
Toilets are also located there.
Garbage containers are also located at suitable distances on the beach.
Of course it depends on the weather conditions, but when I went in early January - the weather was good and the water calm, clear and warm. Only one day there were stronger waves, but it was still interesting playing with the waves. :)
P.S. Paracetamol is expensive here, €8.00, so you can take it with you in case of need.

It’s a beach :) Two beds and a umbrella will run you ~8 euros (not a bad deal). If you’re in the area, great - but I wouldn’t be making a trek from other parts of the island just for it. It’s your general busy beach with some shops and drinks.

We went to Maspalomas (Playa del Ingles) to go to the Saturday market but this was a disappointment. The market covers a huge area but the stalls were all repetitive, similar clothes, leather goods, towels, table cloths etc. Later we went down to the beach area and found that the shops along the walkway near the dunes had a far better variety of merchandise and holiday trinkets for tourists.

This beach was the most disappointing one so far. I can't understand the ratings to be fair. It's windy, the waves are big, so it's not really family friendly. Few toilets and obviously not free. Everything is about rip off. The bars are here from the 80s, the whole place is dirty and uncool.

The view is good. Too many people though considering the fact that the path is super narrow. And there is an unpleasant smell in the caves, like it is a toilet. The cutest part is ground squirrels, dozens of them, absolutely fearless, running back and forth and looking at people with curiosity.

Amazing place to visit... I really enjoyed seeing the huge caves. Such a beautiful place. A bit disappointed that the local council hasn't made more of it by way of perhaps a visitor center and sign posts going down, showing the way. It's free, no cost.... Tourists wouldn't mind paying a minimal fee for a bit of orientation and guidance... A few parts you do have to be very careful with your footing. All in all absolutely worth a visit 😊

Stunning place with lots of steps made on the stairs and in the caves. Take some nuts with you to feed the squirrels on your way down to the caves and watch them quickly run away to dig holes and hide it to come back to you for more. Lovely views and enjoyable walk that both young and older people will enjoy.

Nice huge cave, with spectacular views getting there. But if you have been to organised cave tours this might leave you underwhelmed.

Its a long and fairly difficult trek even though there is a path carved out. It was even more difficult coming back up. Having said that the scenery is amazing.
The beach Playa del Castillo is a popular spot on Fuerteventura in the warmer months, with sunbathing, swimming and picnicking attracting crowds. It's also known as Caleta de Fuste and Piedra Playa, due to its protected bay location. There's plenty of activity in the water from snorkelling to dipping with local sea lions.
Lovely beach, suitable for everyone. There is disabled access with wooden walk ways running on to the beach (though not across it)
Beautiful Turquoise water, cool to start but warm once your body adjusts to it.
The top of the beach near the board walk has toilets and fresh water showers. There are nice affordable bars at the right of the beach near the Eurotar Salinas hotel. These cafes and restaurants do take out ice creams too.
the car parks seem to be at the right end of the beach too or you can park anywhere on any road in the sprawling complex all around this end of Caleta de Fuste
This is a man made beach with quite gritty "Sand" laid deeply to cover the Natural volcanic ledge that was here, It is a gradual shelf and suitable for all swimming abilities. You still need to be mindful of the currents and wind direction here as the entrance to the beach goes directly out to sea
There are man life guard towers here and a shark net to protect the beach from both Sharks and rays. There are smaller fish and these quite happily swim round you, you need to be aware of this as some people seemed quite distressed by that. These fish do not bite but might just swim against you.
You can hire sun loungers and sun shades/Parasols here on the beach - you just sit on a lounger and the attendants will come to you. We were there 2nd week in September 2022 and the price was still 10 Euros for all day rental of x 2 loungers and Parasol 0r 7 Euros for one lounger and Parasol. Pretty good value as you do need the shade especially if you have a young family or you burn easily.
Very nice beach for evening walks along the Board walk.
Possible Downsides:-
It can get very busy in high season, but never "Rammed"
Very close to airport so planes fly over head to land - but its not that often .
Can be choppy with small waves on very windy days.

We had a week here with the family and had a great time. The weather was go. The beach looks nice, but there are some sharp pieces of shell, which got in to my sandals and were uncomfortable.

A great beach with a snack bar, toilets (free), and 2 sunchairs and shade for €10.50. Beach has a bit of rocks and seaweed, but that doesn't bother the kids. Go further down away from the toilets for less sand and seaweed. Quite windy.
Lisa “Jootjoot” C — Google review
To start with, location is very close to the airport if that makes any difference, beach is manmade, not natural. It's wide, there's plenty of room for everyone, ocean is calm so it's ideal for families with young children, down side of it I would say is that there are only 2 beach bars operating from 11 till 6 only so if you would like to eat some restaurant food you have walk a bit to the main area off the beach. There's another thing to mention here that can be annoying or pleasant, the airplanes are flying right above the beach and they are loud. Hope I covered it all.

Stunning beach. Crystal clear water and a fantastic place to visit for both adults and families
Andrea Turnbull — Google review
The beach has excellent facilities, including restaurants and cafes, clean bathrooms near the beach, showers, and parasols (€7 for one person or 10 for two people). The beach is ok, it certainly isn't the best on the island, but the water is calm and it is clean. It's near the airport - about a 10 minute drive. There are dromedaries which were nice to see, with the option to pay for a ride.

Fantastic beach. Shallow water for quite the distance out. Very little waves means you can chill in the water with your kids with no worries.
Nice snack bar on the beach. Camel rides and toilets as well. You can also rent sun beds for a resonable price. 10 euros for two for the whole day.

Such a beautiful place!! In the early morning the beach is quite empty and it’s lovely to take some pictures!
If you want to use the sun beds and the umbrella there is a €10.50 charge for a day. There are shower, toilet and live guards available.
Also, few restaurants that have take away coffee and drinks with an average of €3 per drink.
Definitely a place to visit!
Silvia Casian — Google review
A truly wonderful beach that's very wide.
Toilets are on the beach.
A bar on the beach too.
Many restaurants and cafes nearby.
The sand is flat as it's a man made beach.
This makes it easy to walk on, but not as great for sand castles!!
The water is shallow though, so great for swimming in !
Very tranquil with many sunbeds under shaded umbrellas.
To note, it's 10 mins drive in the car from the airport.
Jamie Ward — Google review
A very large and lovely, man-made beach, with affordable sun loungers. A pair of loungers with canapoy was €10.50 per day. Attended by several life guards, the shore at low tide is very stoney so wear your beach shoes while in the water, (well it is a volcanic island after all). There are good walkways with clean, attended toilets (tips are optional but don't be shy...) and loads of bins etc. The chierichetto is good for a coffee or drink but a bit far from the water front, but the wooded walkways make this tolerable. This is a windy beach so be prepared.
A Live — Google review
Nice and scenic at both day and night, even if it is highly likely to be man-made. The ocean is still real and you get some spectacular views of the coast regardless. Didn't use the sunbeds during the day so uncertain as to the cost, we mainly just had the odd walk around as we were staying very close-by.

A nice beach that I think is man made as it is virtually all South facing. It’s quite shallow especially when the sea goes out. Very little in the way of Waves as the bay is a bit sheltered. The Sun beds are just over €5 per person per day. Toilets and areas to recycle. There is a bit of an area for disabled access/pushchair. Near the centre.

Situated in the northern region, El Cotillo Beach is renowned and impressive, with its notable stretches including Playa de los Lagos and Playa de la Concha. These two beaches are practically interconnected, featuring clear waters and fine sand that won't adhere to your feet. For a glimpse of the Faro del Toston lighthouse, visitors can head to Playa de los Charcos, which offers even clearer waters than its counterparts and is an idyllic haven for sun worshippers.
A lovely beach with natural lagoons. The coast line is quite rugged in parts however there are still plenty of sandy parts to sun bathe and the area has the typical Fuerteventura stone/ lava walled wind protecting "houses". As always please pick up your litter and take it home to help protect the beauty of the area and the wildlife living there.

Lovely beach with sandy shore and crystal clear lagoons. It is about 15 mins walking from the bus stop. There are toilets and showers near the life guard. We prepared drink and food for the day because restaurans and shops are not near. Naturists and bikini sunbathers next to each other with no problem.

Love El Cotillo, there are turquoise, clear lagoons protected from the big waves on one side of town. The big, wild beach at the other side of town is good fun for waves. The town itself has gorgeous little shops and restaurants. Being on the west coast of the island too means that it’s a great spot for sunsets.

Very clean water, nice sand. It can get very windy. Lots of parking along the coast.

Been a few times to this beach and it lovely and clean. Our 3 yr old grandson loved playing on the sand and in the water. It is a nudist beach as well 😎 we also went in the evening to watch sunset which I'd stunning highly recommend this. El Cotillo is a beautiful place to visit.

Didn't notice any shower around.

Amazing beach. White sands which makes also the water look turquoise, small lagunas with calm waters and then big waves further if you wish to have some fun. Not busy usually, restaurants few hundred metres away, car park close by. This place is great for relaxing and enjoying the view.

The Corralejo Natural Reserve is a vast protected area known for its extensive sand dunes and pristine beaches. Spanning approximately 10 km from Puerto Remedio to La Salina, these dunes are the largest in the Canary Islands and are home to numerous protected local flora and fauna species. Their formation can be attributed to the decomposition of mollusk shells and other sea organisms. The reserve's beaches attract surfers due to the strong winds, making them popular destinations on the island.
Beautiful national park bordering the south side of corralejo Town down along the east coast for about 5 miles to red mountain.
Beautiful beaches large dunes reaching 5 and 6 stories high.
Interesting part for me are the little brown shell/ stone like objects you will find scattered I'm the sand with little half inch holes. Turns out they are little egg sacks that have been petrified from a long since extinct pre historic wasp.
Dave T — Google review
The dunes are perfect for activities like hiking, sandboarding or just relaxing in the shade. The environment is very quiet, which contributes to a pleasant stay.
There are also a few beaches in the park, ideal for swimming and sunbathing.
Corralejo Nationalpark is a must for those who appreciate nature, beauty and tranquility.
Shadi — Google review
Amazing dunes reminding of a proper desert. Apparently the sand was brought to Fuerta by winds from Africa - Sahara which is roughly 200km in a direct line. Well it is a must see place if you interested in sightseeing business. The only downside is lack of toilets facilities but being a national park it might be an explanation. You can visit anytime as it plenty of space around and it doesn’t looked busy the times we went there or drove pass it.

Huge beach, fantastic dunes, something beautiful. Similar to the dunes in the Polish Słowiński National Park, but much larger. And the water is much cleaner and nicer.

The combination of the dunes and the sea is what makes this national park so unique. I have traveled to dozens of countries and I have never seen such beautiful place. there is a strong contrast between the dunes and the sea. A road in the middle that goes through the entire dune area, with lots of parking places and easy access to the beach. Big waves make it a surfing paradise. I love it!

Well, it's not the greatest sand dunes I have ever seen, nor are those the biggest. If you have a car and if you are in the area, yes stop there. Otherwise, you don't miss much. Sorry sand dunes, you are pretty but just not that spectacular.
Centro Comercial Rubicón Shop & Fun, also known as the Burger King Complex, is a shopping center located near Dorada beach. The mall offers various bars, restaurants, and shops including swimwear stores, art galleries, and supermarkets. Visitors have praised the cleanliness and orderliness of the mall which enhances the overall shopping experience. Additionally, there are positive remarks about the lovely atmosphere at Rubicon harbor with its great shops and restaurants.
A shopping centre by the beautiful Rubicon harbour. Not many shops, couple of clothes shops, a Hiper Dino supermarket, tiny kids play area. Really good value cafe though, lots cheaper than any on the Marina. Also has a brilliant crepe van outside. €2.50 for a Nutella and Strawberry crepe. Yum bargain.

Nice bar/cafe with gaming machines if that's what you need good price snack food.

Superb scenery ... it feels like you're on a different planet. I loved how they cooked the meat for the restaurant and the water demonstration. We've arrived early at 9 am. Otherwise, we would have stayed in the queue for quite a long time. Don't miss the information centre ...

Amazing! The scenery is breathtaking and dramatic. We had hired a car, so were able to drive round the National Park unhindered. Lots of good roads, but also tracks that allow you to see so much for free.

Great place to visit, I recommend a guided tour as a bus gives a greater vantage point.
The demonstration on steam and fire is awesome. It gets very busy so an early start is recommended. Think about sensible footwear too the ground can be hot. You can get coffee and cake in the cafe. The guided tours can tell you about the history

Well worth a visit, only 12 euro per person. Tours is included and is on a bus, no chance to get out. There is a restaurant and toilets. Would recommend going in the afternoon as it is much quieter..

I just drove through the park, there was a visitor centre and camel rides along the way….I didn’t do any of that. But the drive was beautiful, lovely mountain landscapes and the volcanic rock on all roadsides are worth seeing. The roads are good and well marked.

Wonderful! Do it, you won't regret it. Food is lovely & they dish out lots of wine & drinks for kids too. Beautiful views. Only warning I will give is TAKE HEADPHONES if you're getting the guided coach tour incase you get what we had tonight. Both have splitting heads & had to take tablets & lie down from being subjected to the worst "music" I've ever heard. Thought the coach was dragging metal along under us but it was playing on the speaker!!! Then a gap & a random loud dong & more screeching. Pure garbage. Pink Floyd I'm sure he said but honestly no beat or tune so 🤷 noise then yeah??? Loud awful random noise spoiling the views.
If you want to play anything up a Volcano play Lava or something for the love of God!!! Don't torture folk with blasting odd sounds at them. My forehead is throbbing so I'm coming off here. Definitely worth doing just remember to pack 👌

Amazing natural park that allows you to see the effects of the eruptions that happened at the beginning of the 18th century.
The tours will take place in a bus. Its recommended to come early in the morning as the parking areas get easily full.
You will need to pay for the entrance.
David Mart?nez Falc? — Google review
An enjoyable trip but very very long queues.
Staff are friendly but it feels so chaotic and made us want to leave as soon as we’d finished the main bus tour. I’d return but only during a quieter period where we didn’t have to queue for an hour just to get into the car park!

Nice location.
We just drove around. There is camel ride as well through mountain.
The entire place is so beautiful.
You will see volcanic rock as well.
I would recommend to visit the place.
S. M. Anowar Uddin — Google review
A trip through the volcanic national park is memorable, unique and obligatory.
Taking the bus for an on-rails experience had the benefit of bypassing a lot of the queues so I would highly recommend taking one if there is an option.
Although the scenery is breathtaking, there were many more "fun" things to experience on the island and even on pre-booked tours the whole experience is packed with tourists being herded through the whole time.
Tom Daff — Google review
Very interesting to find out about the origins of the island. Such a shame that you’re not able to explore by foot but the free coach journey is quite good. It was very busy with a lengthy wait so go very early in the day or late afternoon to avoid a long wait/queue.

This place is surreal, straight out of science fiction. The land is like mars!
The national park entry includes a bus ride with a detailed audio guide. Also at the end of the tour they give a nice demonstration of geysers.
Perfect place for nature lovers!

If you love the volcanic landscape this is a must. Unfortunately not too many places to discover on your own or by foot, but even driving around and just enjoying the scenery is mesmerizing. We visited the visitor center by bus, so we skipped the lines. Nice attractions, to see that just below few meters underground it is still hot and active, just wow.

Amazing place. Incredible scenery. Feeling the heat, seeing the effects of the magma and eating food which had been cooked using that heat was a truly memorable experience. The restaurant has beautiful views - we were there at sunset. Was very busy - 3 coaches - but plenty of food!
If you're looking for a day out that includes some water fun, Lanzarote's Rancho Texas is the perfect destination. With animal shows, swimming with sea lions, and more, this park has something for everyone. Be sure to book in advance as spots are limited.
A very beautiful zoo!
Yes, we (two adults + baby) paid 60€ + 30€ for photos with dolphins. Considering that the transfer was included, this is a fair price.
BUT: the zoo was absolutely clean and well maintained. It is very manageable in size and not huge. 10000 steps we still managed.
The shows were great and very informative. The animals also seemed to enjoy the shows. Even if the price seems high for one or the other, we were very happy to pay it! The photo with the dolphins was an absolute highlight!
This is not self-evident, you read another rating for an Ozeanium from me ;)
The water park was "nice" to look at, because unfortunately too cold. All in all, it was still a wonderful day trip for us as a family, which we can only recommend!
Very important to take the shows;)
Marek D. — Google review
Amazing day out for the whole family you must take in the shows these are very information educational and fun. All the animals seem to enjoy the attention as much as we enjoyed watching them. For a small zoo the animals have lots of room and seem very well cared for.
The staff are friendly and helpful.
And the food was great to. You can choose from a sit down meal that we did or take away style.
Please do cover up sunscreen and take a hat as it was very hot and some areas there is little shade.
Approx 15'000 steps to see everything. And bring swimming trunks for a dunk in the swimming pools with kids water slides at the end.

Such an amazing zoo/experience. The enclosures are fantastic and huge. Excellent value for money and the shows are fantastic. Make sure to visit early in the day so that you don’t miss any of the shows as they are only on twice a day.
Mark Pitts — Google review
Super nice activity for everyone, the animals are well kept and they seem healthy. It is absolutely worth the price, especially for the dolphins show and sea lion exhibition. The thing I appreciated most was that both during the show and in the park there were always reminders about how we should be more responsible for the environment. I absolutely suggest it!
Maria Funghini — Google review
Went on a Monday in May with two kids 4 and under 2. Both had a lovely time and so did the adults. Worth a visit even without kids. There is a bit of walking but attractions are around every corner so both kids visited all animals fully on foot. The food in the restaurant by the pool was good too and very reasonably priced. Typical pool side bar menu with pizzas, sandwiches and chips with burgers etc.
Anna O'Reilly — Google review
Booked the bus through the hotel, which was due at 9.45. However, through the first bus not showing up and the second being full, we get there late (11.30). We booked the 'Dolphin Experience' for all 4 of us (€150 each), which turned out to be waiting in turns in a group of about 20, to get 3 pictures with a dolphin. So really should be called "3 pictures and a rub of a dolphin".
Once that was finished, we had time to grab a bite to eat and see the 3 other experiences (Birds of Prey, Sea Lions and Parrots) which left no time for the kids to get use out of the water park. The shows are good and the staff do great work keeping the animals. The food was quick and the salads were actually really good (burgers and pizza were also on offer).
If you have children, the water park would be great fun for them. Getting a picture taken with the dolphin separately would be much better value for money than the 'experience'.
If I had the time again, I would go but made sure I got there earlier, saved ~£600 and not done the 'experience' (which I have to print out the pictures myself when they are emailed to me) and made better use of the water park. Good luck folks.

Rancho Texas was only a couple min drive from our hotel and it’s a lovely little place. We spent most of the day looking at the animals. Including the afternoon dolphin interaction. This costs €150 each plus your park tickets. Lasted about 45 mins got lots of amazing photos.
We then spent afternoon at the water slides. They were good and my 6 years liked the big slides and the big pool was a salt water which was different.
We then went back later in the week and done the ranch night which was lots of fun shouting yeah ha every time we wanted a drink. All drink and food was included and worth the 50 euros a person. Great business and should be proud of everything you deliver
Chris Matthews — Google review
We arrived around 10.30 and bought tickets on site, hardly any wait.
Animals seemed well looked after and the park was clean and spacious.
We armrest in the restaurant which seemed to be the same price and menu as the take away next door. Reasonably priced!
We saw the animals and the shows first and then went to the water park about 3.30. Theres only a few slides- slide, ring slide, slide with bowl. Good fun. The park closed at 5.30 but slides closed at 5pm, although we stayed in the pools until 5.15.
Locker keys can be obtained from the small shop by the lockers. 8 euros for a key and 5 euros returned when key is handed back. The shop shut at 5pm too.
Plenty of parking. Shaded areas throughout the park but the dolphin and eagle shows were in the sun.

Amazing day out for...anyone, really! The zoo itself is really easy to navigate, and the animal enclosures are very spacious and clean. They seem well cared for and the staff seem to love their job too. Definitely bring sun cream and maybe a hat as there is little shade. The zoo offers different animal shows (sea lions, dolphins, parrots, and birds of prey). I can't comment on the parrot show as we didn't see it, but the sea lions and dolphins were very fun and enjoyable, and the birds of prey show was a personal highlight of the day for me! They have a restaurant too but I can't comment on that either as we didn't eat there - from what I've read though, you can choose to either sit in and eat or take away/fast food option. One last thing I'd like to add is that I took a lot of photos on the day, over 500 😂🙈 so enjoy some of them if you will 📷😁 not all of them of course, I'll narrow it down for you 😉

Rancho Texas Lanzarote is a fantastic destination for animal lovers and families seeking a fun-filled day out. The park offers a unique blend of a zoo and a water park, making it an excellent choice for those who want to experience both.
One of the standout features of Rancho Texas Lanzarote is the variety of animal shows. The Dolphin Show is a must-see, allowing visitors to witness these friendly creatures up close and even interact with them through the Interaction with Dolphins experience. The Sea Lion Show is another highlight, offering the chance to get close to these playful marine mammals and even swim with them. Additionally, the Birds of Prey Show features impressive birds such as eagles, falcons, and vultures, while the Parrot Show showcases the wit and brilliance of parrots and cockatoos.
For those who prefer water activities, the park's Water Ranch (Corral del Agua) is a great alternative. It features a splash zone, swimming pools, and two twisting slides, providing a refreshing break from the animal encounters. The park also has a restaurant and bar where visitors can recharge with sumptuous food and refreshing drinks.
Rancho Texas Lanzarote is open daily from 9:30 to 17:30, and visitors can purchase tickets online to avoid long waits at the gate. The park is well-maintained, with friendly and helpful staff, and the food is affordable and tasty.
In summary, Rancho Texas Lanzarote is an excellent destination for families and animal lovers. With its diverse range of animal shows, water park attractions, and well-maintained facilities, it offers an unforgettable day out.

At first I thought 30€ is a lot for the ticket but at the end of the day I realized it's totally worth it. It's definitely a full day visit ! You take a walk around the zoo, definitely visit all of the animal shows they offer, the dolphins and sea lions were exceptionally good. And once you're done with that, grab some food at the restaurant (reasonable prices) and go to the pool. I found it pretty funny that a "zoo" has a water park but it was fun. You can get a key to the lockers at the souvenir shop for 2€, there is plenty of chair where you can lay down.. so don't forget your swimwear and have a lovely day!

I visited Park with my family in June. I booked on the webside with free bus from hotel, bus should be at 9.30 but it didn't come after 10 and then we had to wait around 15 min at the entrance of the park.We had nice day out, it wasn't too crowded during a week. It was few shows during a day, dolphins, parrots, sea lions and and birds of prey. All very good but I recommend to have suncream and hat as there is no shadow anywhere you seat and watch except parrots show. There was a restaurant on the side, typical fast foods but tasty. Park isn't that big, you can see all animals in short time but also have mini water park with two slides, splash park and pool with sun lounges. They are lockers up there if u need to use them.

It is lovely park. Plenty of things to do. Many species of animals to see. So many trees and plants make experience even much better. We loved dolphins' show. They were adorable. There are other shows in a park. Just check a time when it starts (times are on a map you get). The Aqua park area is a good bonus. Just to chill and have fun after walking all around the park. The only problem is that there are not enough lockers to keep your stuff (plenty of space to put extra lockers). So we had to cary our belongings with us in the Aqua Park area (good idea to secure locker right away you get to the park). Otherwise, those two slides were fun. Good assortment of fast food and prices are reasonable. Park has its own buses to bring people to the park (that service is free). Overall, it was fun and we had a lovely time there. Thank you!

We recently came here on our family holiday to Lanzarote and booked a trip here through our hotel with Jet2.
We got picked up and brought back Ont he coach and what a great day it was!
Our 5 and 6 year old absolved it! The zoo animals, the parrot, seal and dolphin shows were all incredible!
We then spent the rest of the day at the water park making the most of the kids area and water slides, then had lunch at one of the restaurants there.
Fully enjoyable day and would highly recommend to anyone to go!

A great day out! We all enjoyed all the animal shows - they are very well thought out and perfectly executed. The water park section is also brilliant - we've spent hours on the slides. As an added extra, the restaurant has *very* reasonable prices and their waiters have impeccable English!
Lots of shady areas in the park so you hide away from the sun if it's getting a bit too hot.

So much better than expected, loads of different types of interactions and you are given so many lovely photos digitally.
They provide you with wet suits, shoes, lockers, changing rooms and a hot shower.

A memory we will never forget. We went 10th March and weather was 25c ☀️
The rest of the zoo is beautiful the only disappointment was we had a photo with the a dolphin but we were only able to buy printed not digital (which for us would get lost in a draw), which is a shame as we would of happily paid €15 each if digital but they said No.

We all absolutely loved this place. So much to see and do here 🙂
There were 4 shows, the only one we didn't see was the parrots (due to timings and finding our way round). The shows were amazing and going to the dolphin show, there was information over how the island was formed. There were so many different and beautiful animals here.
The water park area was nicely set out and my kids loved the slides. The only issue with the water park is that when we used the water slides, we passed our rings to the next people to use, but when we waited for our turn, no-one handed any rings over so waited around 10 minutes before someone shared the rings for us to take the kids back up to have a turn. There needs to be someone there making sure everyone takes turns or supply more rings to use the water slides.

This is a must see for all ages. The dolphin show alone is worth the visit. The bird show was also fantastic. Wheelchair accessible but some hills are a bit steep. Would recommend having a mobility scooter some rental places will drop it there and collect for 35 euro.
There is a restaurant and a few vending machines but cash only not the card reader machines.

Beautiful place to visit. Plenty of restaurants and restrooms. Drinks machine throughout the park. There is a water park for the kids with loungers around for the adults. Changing rooms and lockers are also available. There are more loungers to relax on further down for those who don’t have children with them. Animals look happy and clean and very well looked after. Staff are very friendly. The whole ranch is very clean and well maintained. The food is very good priced too. The walk ways are very wide and lots of shade from all the trees. It’s just a beautiful place to visit. Those who struggle with mobility may struggle as there is a lot of area that is a little steep.

The César Manrique Foundation is a cultural and artistic attraction located in Teguise, built on an old lava flow. The studio-home and garden offer visitors a glimpse into the life and work of Spanish artists through their paintings. The foundation also boasts fantastic design, beautiful views, and cactus gardens that make it an excellent destination for culture enthusiasts who love architecture and design. However, individuals with mobility issues may find it challenging to navigate the site fully.
Spectacular place. A fabulous insight into how Cesar Manrique lived and enjoyed life from his house containing lots of exhibition pieces and information about his life. This place is very well set out and you build a picture of this great modern artist as you move about his home. I absolutely love his ethos and belief in the connection to nature to find what is beautiful wherever you are and create it into further beauty. He absolutely did this with his creations and local materials and landscape.
This exhibition v his other house gives you an insight into the more hedonistic side of him. The only insight I couldn’t get a grasp on was whether this side was a feature of his earlier life or whether it was just not portrayed at his other house. He created such amazing entertainment spaces that I just stared at and longed for!
The exhibition contains lots of interesting photos and magazine articles, as well as audio clips (with English subtitles).
I was totally absorbed for the 60-90 mis we were here and so wanted some of his furniture, design in my own home. It’s amazing some of the design of the lava cut out rooms he created.
Worth getting a combo ticket for Euros 17 (Instead of 10 Euros each) and visit both houses.
Sue Vogt-Skard — Google review
Cesar Manrique's spectacular house now converted into a museum is well worth a visit. We went with our kids (10 and 12) and they really enjoyed it.
The house/museum was built in the middle of a lava field so the views from the windows are incredibly interesting, but it's the house itself which is such a joy. Manrique clearly had a passion for life and it's reflected in his house.
Our kids loved the staff where the house was built into the volcanic bubbles, creating underground rooms and passages which make it feel like a Bond villain's lair.
Upstairs the house is full of Manrique's art and objects from his life. Plus holes in the floor everywhere looking down to the lower level!!
We were there for under an hour but without kids, you could easily spend more time there. There's a small shop selling Manrique items, a small cafe and toilets.

Nice museum showcasing the character and style of César Manrique. The path takes a leisurely stroll through various rooms, well decorated and in good condition. Lots of information to read too.
Visited on a bus tour that stopped for an hour and have gave ample time to view everything. Cannot comment on price.

We hired bikes in Teguise and cycled to the foundation. Fantastic and cultural place to visit. Great view into the life of Cèsar Manrique. Lots of areas to explore and plenty of art. €10 each,Would have paid extra to dip in the pool if we had the option. Fantastic design, beautiful views and cactus gardens. Would highly recommend to all the culture vultures out there. Bathrooms on site, small snack shop, not ideal for anyone with mobility issues.

Didn't know you could view Manriques home pad from the 60's. Talk about wow factor! This man knew how to decorate and entertain. Great place to visit. Lots of photo opportunities. Don't want to put too many on as will lose the surprises if you go. Has a small gift shop also.

Decided as we where in town to visit here!
We got a taxi from PDC which was simple enough. 23 euros.
Paid out entrance fee and had a lovely walk around the grounds.
Lots here about the artist as you wander around.
Great chilled out place.

A wonderful excursion to see a very unusual house built on a lava River partially underground in lava bubbles, created by Ceasar Manrique in the 1960s as his home, and now housing his foundation, artifacts and museum exhibitions. Definitely worth a visit if you are interested in ecological and sustainable architecture and also for some home inspiration!!!
Jacqueline Morgan — Google review
The museum is amazing. Céser Manrique was a great artist and fought to maintain the beauty of Lanzarote. He designed his home to incorporate the stunning lava fields surrounding the property. You will not be disappointed if you visit. 😄
Emily Rawling — Google review
The build concept of this Foundation is also to integrate nature with human-made creations. The floor to ceiling wall gives visitors the feeling of expansiveness while viewing, lava, vegetation and mountains outdoors.
The late Cesar Manrique has interesting conclusions about our short lives and our environment that formed the principles with which he lived his life and how temporary existence on earth in Lanzarote could have preserved natural vistas.
Elsa C Lorenzo — Google review
One of the best 60’s houses I have ever visited. This is a must for anyone who loves architecture and who loves design. It is in perfect condition, a time capsule which encaptures the personality and intentions of the artist himself.

Very unique property with exhibition of Cesar Manrique. €10 per person with free parking. There is a small take away coffee stand, small gift shop and toilets on site. Queue to get in was quite long and slow to enter but that was the only slight negative and at a busy time of year. Worth seeing if only for the bizarre architecture!

Amazing! This house left me absolutely speechless. The idea. The genius behind of it. I didn't know César Manrique and 10 mins into the visit I was already reading everything about him. A marvellous visionary who LIVED inside the art. Totally worth of it!
Adriana Torregrossa — Google review
The exhibition at the moment is about his life, so there aren't many artworks, but the house is amazing, especially the downstairs spaces carved out of the lava - you can imagine the 70s bohemian life and get a feel for the times..
Chris Lenox-Smith — Google review
I absoloutely loved this place. It is obvious why Manrique is so revered on the island. His home built into lava tubes so super unique and speaks volumes about who he was a person. His personality (ego!) screamed out from every room, nook and cranny. I had a profound spiritual experience there. It was like I was connected to some higher cosmic force. Even though there were people all around mé I felt like I was alone in this vortex of deep connection beyond my surroundings. Absoloutely beautiful and life enriching experience.

A true time capsule in honour of César Manrique and his work. The foundation has achieved a true dedication to his memory by preserving a glimpse of his lifestyle and the passion he had and sharing his legacy to others to see, understand and admire. The foundation has managed to preserve impeccably his vision. Please do visit and spend time taking in all the art, surroundings, decor, as well as César’s message and vision.

Very interesting, like all artists he was very hedonistic, but he built a unique home. Well worth a look.

Wonderful place to visit but very popular so expect large crowds as you walk round the site. I wished I'd had more time there. Very well worth the visit.

The César Manrique Foundation is located in a unique building designed by César Manrique himself upon his return from New York, when he decided to settle permanently in Lanzarote.
Inhabited by the artist for 20 years, from 1968 to 1988, this is the house in which he lived the longest.
It stands in the middle of a lava flow created by the major volcanic eruptions that struck the island between 1730 and 1736.
In this building, which covers 3000 square meters on a plot of 30,000 square meters, reference is made to the relationship between the building and nature, which fuses volcano and architecture in a bond of mutual respect.

Friday morning about an hour after opening and already 2 coaches there, car park and roadside parking spots full. Queue if didn't have advance ticket. €10 each (children less). Lovely atmospheric environment despite the number of people. Quite struck by César Manrique's life well lived and the complementarity of his art with Lanzarotian nature. Not sure how we hadn't visited previously! Souvenir shop/catering fairly minimal.

The Cactus Garden is a stunning botanical garden located in a terraced former quarry that boasts over 1000 different species of cacti from around the world, including giant specimens from Mexico and Brazil. Visitors can enjoy exploring the numerous pathways throughout the garden, as well as taking in breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. The garden also features a restored windmill that offers panoramic views and a cafe for refreshments.
Loved visiting the cactus gardens. Loads of pathways to explore, cafe for drinks and snacks, plenty of great pictures to take. Would love to come back and see the cactus flowers in full bloom.
€6.50 per person. Bathrooms on site, plenty of parking.
Can spend around 1.5 hours walking round.

There are cacti in every shape, form and size. You can walk up to them without restrictions and have a good look.
There are toilets, a gift shop and a cafeteria.

A big cactus garden is a spectacular sight to behold. As you enter, you're greeted by towering cacti that rise up to the sky, some reaching over 10 feet in height. The garden is filled with an array of cactus species, each with its own unique shape, color, and texture.
The garden is arranged in a way that allows you to stroll through it, taking in the beauty and diversity of the cacti. The paths wind their way through the garden, offering glimpses of the different types of cacti from different angles. As you walk, you'll notice the sunlight filtering through the spines of the cacti, casting a warm, golden glow on everything around you.
In the midst of the cactus garden, you might find a tranquil pond or a bubbling fountain. These water features provide a refreshing respite from the heat of the desert sun, and they attract a variety of wildlife, from songbirds to lizards.
The garden is also home to other desert plants, such as succulents and wildflowers, which add a splash of color to the landscape. The air is filled with the sweet fragrance of desert blooms, and you might even catch a glimpse of a butterfly or hummingbird hovering nearby.
Overall, a big cactus garden is a breathtaking display of nature's beauty and resilience. It's a testament to the hardiness of desert plants and a reminder of the unique and wondrous ecosystems that exist in even the harshest environments.

Stunning place! So calm and peaceful too! Great variety of Cacti! Would have liked a bit more information about the garden in leaflet, audio or book form! There wasn't even a book about the construction of the garden in english in the shop. However I got all the info online! Loved it there and will definitely be back!

Lovely little garden. Though relatively small in size, it somewhat felt inviting/relaxing. I am not generally a big fan of plants but I have to say I quite enjoyed the place. The restaurant over looking the garden is a good spot to chill and cool down whilst enjoying the views.

Absolutely very beautiful garden. I have never seen so many cactus in one place, nor have I ever giant cactus, some from as far as Mexico, Brazil etc. The garden has a café, toilets, an old windmill worth going up the stairs to see it. The garden is so beautiful and serene, you should plan to spend at least 2 to 3 hours there.

Really good couple of hours spent walking round & round, and still finding more to see. Great experience, very enjoyable. Only suggestion would be to improve seating areas at the restaurant as we waited a long time to sit and was unsuccessful. Staff should encourage customers who have finished & paid to give other tourists an opportunity. Really good value for money on the entrance fee !!
G Sees — Google review
The Cactus garden was lovely to walk around. I can't help but feeling they are perhaps missing a trick with regards to information about all of the cacti in the garden. Most of them have labels next to them so that you know their scientific name. However, there was zero information available about each cacti. (Perhaps a guidebook with the cacti numbered and then information about them in the guide book? - is this an English approach? I don't know but I would have been happy to actually learn about each cactus) and that's really the only reason why I've given it a 4 star rating rather than a 5. There is a cafe on site where you can get food and drink. There are toilets and a gift shop. In the gift shop there are numerous foodstuffs you can buy made out of cactus fruits - but again, no information anywhere about how you make cactus jam for example.

Absolutely loved exploring the cactus garden! My favourite tourist visit in Lanzarote.
There is such a huge variety of different cacti all beautifully presented. A welcoming space that felt relaxing to meander and enjoy. The mixture of elevations creates broad panoramic views in addition to getting up close with the well tended individual beds. A stunning mixture of nature and art.
Visited as part of a bus tour so was able to skip the queue, but could have spent much longer there if making my own way there.

Super cute garden, you learn about the different types of cactus around the island and you take nice photos. However the garden is small and I think the ticket is overpriced. It was nice and I enjoyed it but you can skip it as the cactus are around the island in gardens or in the nature

Beautiful Work of Cesar Manrique. There is big and beautiful selection of cactuses. Picturesque views with the Windmill in the back. There was the restaurant on the spot but haven't tried eating there as we had some arrangements prior. On a hot day it is good to know there is an option to get a cold drink.

A great place to visit. Even if you're not especially a cactus lover, the planting, variety of shapes, textures, colours etc are stimulating and wonderful to look at. The restaurant has a limited venue - light bites. You get a good view overlooking the gardens and there is a quick turnover of guests.

Really beautiful garden with 4500 different cacti of all shapes and sizes. Book tickets in advance easily on the web. Not too much of a queue to get in, lots of little walkways around to soak up the visitors. Signs to show the different cactus names, a little windmill to visit and a giftshop selling cactus merch. Really enjoyed it.

Wow! I don't even like cacti (health hazard for cats getting pricked) but I loved this place!! The cacti are gorgeous. So beautiful! Such a variety! The landscaping is very creative.
No menu at the restaurant, didnt realise they did food, but coffee reasonable, but small. Lovely waiters/waitresses, friendly, and I'm sure if I asked for a menu I'd have been given one, and food options. Super place!

Architect masterfully demonstrated here the seamless fusion of lava and nature. Discover thousands of cactus species from across the globe. It’s a breathtaking spectacle. Plus, it’s the perfect spot to chill on sunny days with some cool beverages.

Before we went to this place we read some FAQ's online where it's mentioned that this place is buggy friendly. It's definitely not and I found this a bit misleading. Despite having big wheels on our stroller we really struggled to maneuver with it whilst walking around the garden. Also there are some cactuses and other plants on the upper level and there is no lift so definitely not buggy friendly.
Overall it was okay for taking a few pictures as the garden is not that big.

Beautiful botanical garden, well worth the visit! The restaurant has many vegetarian and some vegan options and the option to try some edible cacti!
Be aware that there are many stairs with uneven steps and no railing to hold onto, so this is sadly not the most accessible experience.
Cueva de los Verdes is a stunning lava tube that spans almost 8km in length, created by an eruption 5000 years ago. The chasm is 1km long and offers breathtaking views as visitors explore the cave with guided tours available every half hour. Tourists can enjoy illusions inside the cave as they walk through, and learn about its fascinating history from knowledgeable guides who give tours in English.
Amazing views, straight as you walk in not only are you met by a friendly guide but illusions that are spectacular! Me and my family loved every bit of it and the history that is told by the guide is very fascinating! 100% would recommend !

Pretty cool place to visit.
There is a wait before the tour begins, you cannot enter unguided.
The whole tour took about 30 minutes. It is very easy to do, all the pathways are flat and smooth with only a few stairs.
You can take your kids, but unless you have them well trained you are ruining the peace and quiet for the rest of the group.
Very nicely lit, no flash photography is allowed so be warned.

Fantastic tour inside a lava cave 7 km long. Although you only walk about 1 km i was thrilled to see the beauty inside. You can only visit the tour with a guide so you might have to wait around 20 minutes before it starts. Inside it can be huge, but also very cramped, so if you are in a bad condition of have claustofoby, don't do it. The tourguide speaks spanish and english, and quite good. Good explanation. Come early because it can be very busy!!!

This is a must visit when coming to Lanzarote. This is a tour of the underground caves at the north of the island. It is very informative with the tour being in English and Spanish. You cannot self tour around here and must pay 12 EUR to visit. It is well worth it for the content and tours start around every 30 minutes. Plenty of parking available. Some areas are very narrow so you need be able to be physically fit. Optical illusion inside also.

Went here as part of a larger tour, myself and my partner really enjoyed walking around the cave and our tour guide was great, giving lots of information and history. It took us around 45 minutes to walk around the whole thing, it was one of my favourite stops on our tour.
The only thing I will mention is that for anyone who has claustrophobia, it will probably be a pass. While some of the cave is large and open, there are some areas where you're crouched down going through gaps or tighter squeezes and following down narrow steps.

The caves are beauiful and it is a must see on the island.
The tour is guided and that was a bit of a dissapointment because if you are the last in the group, you won't get much of information from the guide as you arrive too late or are too far away to hear.
We arrived at the cash desk at around 10:15 with no queues and were there alone for couple of minutes (09/2023). We had to wait for approx. 20 minutes to gathet enough people for a tour to start (around 50).

Oh wow I can't believe I visited this amazing place, I'm still blown away, one of the places I was told to visit was the Cueva de los Verdes (caves) and wow we were not disappointed. Setting off in groups of 50, crawling through these caves hearing all about the history of the caves was amazing, an experience I'll never forget. That was down to the guild too who made our experience amazing. Great things I can't give away as ypu have to experience it there at one point no phones. Great caves with guided tour.
Wish the groups were smaller (they could charge a bit more and it would still be ok).
The music inside the cave is a bit of a downer - I’d rather hear the silence of nature
Tomi Cafferata — Google review
Wow that was unexpected! I had no idea the visit would turn out to be so good. In my mind I thought it’d be a 5-10min visit and be done with it. But No! The tour lasted for a solid 45min, 35 meters below the surface where you can witness caves created by old lava flow.
TIPS:
- Arrive early. We got there by 10.30am and had to wait over half an hour to get to the ticket booth. When we exited around 12pm, the queue had doubled if not tripled
- There are no bathrooms past the ticket point. So plan ahead before starting to queue up (WC are located in the car park)
- Be prepared to crouch as the ceilings are quite low in some areas
- You can bring young kids (we brought our 4y old) provided they can confidently walk by themselves. Whilst kids of all ages are allowed, I wouldn’t recommend if parents are to held them up for the entire journey. Too hazardous in my opinion

A lovely set of volcanic deep caves. A great tour guide and the underground trip takes around 45mins. No cafe etc just the caves. Can be busy to get in but worth wile.
Keith Allen — Google review
Quite nice inside cave, however extremely long queue to enter and huge groups of about 50, making the visit little interactive with the guide. Even though the wait gives you the time to admire the different tunnels, the guide doesn't give much information, besides what a common tourist might already know. Smaller groups and more in depth information on the broader volcanic history of the island would have been more interesting and stimulating. Ps prices have recently gone up to 15 euros per person and there is no more option to buy several attractions of the area for a cheaper price.

Lovely experience on a hot day. Very informative and some gorgous views. Attentive staff, just one small comment - for the safety reasons I do recommend, that the guide keeps people reporting any kind of problems or claustrophobic issues right close to them by default from start to finish. My friend had this issue and for the most difficult part we were in the middle of the group which worsened her situation. But we got out fine and managed. Just struggled here and there :-)
But the experience was definitelly pleasant and worth it.

An interesting, guided visit to the lava caves. The guide was knowledgeable and spoke at least three languages. The lighting added to the visual splendour of the caves and the paths through were well manged and easy to negotiate. Fun and lively place; lots of restaurants, bars, gift shops, and live music. Plenty of spots for ice cream lovers. This area gets really busy in the summer evenings. But still exciting to explore. Visited here often during our week stay in April. It was nice to walk around both day and night, browsing the shops and soaking up the atmosphere. Plenty of places to shop and eat in the old town - however, slightly more expensive than local places not located here (to be expected). There was a nice 'buzz' and atmosphere every time we visited. We much preferred this to the new town and 'strip' area. Would recommend.

We were staying at Vilamoura and travelled to Albuferia for a few hours. It is a beautiful town with so much to see and do. Everywhere was clean and tidy and the people we spoke to were warm and friendly. The only downside is the large number of British males who visit here for stag does and to get out of there head on alcohol. While I'm sure the town makes vast sums of money from from these sorts of tourists it does spoil the atmosphere.

Decent old town with good shops and a few local gems for food but this whole area of Albufeira has been ruined by British people either moving here or coming over in large crowds. Place is full of run down pubs/bars and places selling bland food. Portuguese government need to have a clear out of everyone here that isn't Portuguese.
Nothing Portuguese or cultural about this sadly - not sure what the attraction is going from the home country to another location abroad which is just like home 😐

Albufeira is a very walkable city, from the marina to old town Albufeira, you’ll encounter beautiful views and small nice stores and restaurants. You can also take the Hop-on-Hop-off buses and get off on one of the five stops in or near the city center. Old town has a lot of stores and bars, like Central Station. We had lunch at Restaurant 54 which has a sea view just near the centre towards the marina. Depending on what you’re into, I am sure you’ll enjoy your time here.

We went into the old town for the day as we were up by the strip, which I didn't really enjoy. We had lunch in Flavours, by the beach, which was lovely. Albuferia is a lovely coastal city with sandy beaches. A holiday destination with blue sky and the temperature to go with it.
I would have loved if Albuferia kept or stamped the Portuguese identity in history, food, culture to the place.
Disappointed to find that it was almost impossible to find anything Portuguese. The essence of travelling is to be open and experience different cultures, to learn about the host way of life, to broaden one's horizon.
The food I had was void of any taste, bland, uninspiring. Ruined the evening. Period☹️ One positive was the octopus was succulent but tasteless.
But if you want fish and chips, or an English breakfast or a pub "more of the same" this is your place.
Warm, sandy beaches all good.🤣🤣

The beach at Old Town is lovely! There are loads of options for food. The market was OK but not much variety between vendors, so once you've seen a few shops, you've seem most of what's on offer.
Nightlife seems good. We went on a Tuesday and it was relatively quiet but enough people round to have a dance and some fun. Would have liked to go on a weekend to compare but didn't have time.
The live music was great! I loved Nuno Ness and the band at Vegas Bar.

The Old town I found more peaceful 🙌🏼 less crowds, bars and clubs. In December perfect 👍 the beach was also quiet enough. Plenty of bars and restaurants around but again more chill and calm in the old town. Beautiful areas and little vintage spots. Up further into the old town there was plenty of Christmas stalls, small little ice rink and plenty of little quirky shops. In around the old town in the middle the shops are more expensive than the ones outside the main attraction spots. Overall hands down …. Old town was definitely for me, especially if your not a drinker 🙌🏼

A great town to explore but good shoes are essential not my 6 inc & 5 inc platforms "duh" and the cobbled streets can be slightly slippery if wet. But that said its a great arry of mixed shops and dinning, and architecture. With hidden places that open to glorious wonderful vistas. You just couldn't know everything in 10 days, I barely scratched the surface.
And the legalisation of recreation cannabis is subtle and very controlled funnily enough, my friend visited the stores. Great art work there.

The beach has clear, shallow waters and is perfect for a lazy day by the sea. Fisherman tend their nets and boats right on the beach, giving it a quaint charm. At night, it is stunningly beautiful with the fishing boats visible at one end of the beach.
Amazing, beautiful, clean beach. Friendly employees where you can rent a beach chair for €7,50 per person for a whole day. Toilet/beach restaurant super close by.

Fantastic bit of beach, lovely place to dip your toes in the water. Tide seems to come up on you quick and a few odd waves can catch you a little off guard! There are shops, restaurants and toilets nearby.

Fantastic quiet beach but bare in mind I visited in late December (Christmas week). The entire week it was so peaceful, quiet and not many people around at all. An introverts dream 🥰🙌🏼 There was no sunbeds, umbrellas, rubbish or screaming humans - just peace 👌🏼✨ the beach was just fantastic and the views were amazing. Beautiful waves all around, ideal to just sit and read a book 📖 lovely sunsets at night too. Really picturesque. Christmas Day was the only time I seen the beach busy even at that it wasn’t overcrowded just Portuguese people with all their kids. Overall, highly recommend if you want somewhere peaceful to go.

This is a beautiful beach. It was always full as many other people thought the same. Where we were there were bars, restaurants and shops just of the beach...when the tides out you can walk for miles along it from 1 end the the other. You can also climb up on top of the cliffs where there are little trails that take you along the beach, and the views are amazing.

We visited this beach in the week and there were only a few people here, not too busy so that was a nice surprise. We also went on a hike after and the paths are 5/5 couldn’t recommend more if you’re going to this area, definitely go on a few hikes! It’s so worth it! And then we went to the nearby town which was a bit more touristy so we had lunch and got an Uber back to our hotel. The waters were clean yet had a lot of moss floating around which was a strange texture yet natural though. Very clean, has cafe and toilets but you have to eat at the cafe to use the toilets as they provide you a code to get in, overall very nice though.

I do not understand why people insist on piling up on top of each other at the entrance to the beaches. If you move down towards the right there are lovely spots around the sea stacks and cliffs with public toilet facilities at the restaurant at that end of the beach. Beautiful spot

First beach we visited in algarve. Small boulevard'ish area but if you step onto the beach and see the vieuw that opens up left and right youll love it. Theres some nice low level exploration possible, not really actual climbing. But still so nice with all the little pools that are shaped in the rocks with lowtide. Good beach for tanning also, clean.

Great area, quiet, no Stags or Hens, just small quiet beach with a few nice restaurants and bars.
The beach Praia da Rocha Baixinha is a long golden sand beach located in the east of Falesia Beach, close to Vilamoura. The beach has many swimming spots and a lifeguard service. It's well known for its nickname Praia dos Tomates because of the tomato plants growing by one of the entrances.
One of the most beautiful wild beach ⛱️

Really beautiful clean beach. Miles and miles of beautiful sand. Plenty of cafes along the beach when you need a break. Sea quite shallow but be careful of the strong currents. A good place to try out surfing if you are a beginner as waves not too big. Keep walking along the beach and there are water sports and para sailing activities.

Incredible beach against the backdrop of some beautiful red cliffs. Amazing and clean sand, tonnes of space. No animals / dogs as the cliffs are quite dangerous. The water is lovely and you can rent pedalos/jetskis if that floats your boat

Barreta Island is a secluded 7km-long island situated off the coast, accessible by ferry or boat. It boasts a nude beach and offers a guided tour that takes visitors around the national park with stops at two sandbar-islands, Ilha Deserta and Ilha da Culatra. The tour costs 25 but there is also the cheaper option of just heading to Ilha Deserta for only 10. This uninhabited island features nothing but a restaurant and some beach huts.
Stunning views , lovely walk. Southern most point in Europe. For those so inclined, an unguarded naturalist beach.

Desert Island is 45 min away from Faro with Katamaran or 15-20min with speed boat from Faro city, it’s very nice ride to island and when you arrive there are some stairs you need to take from the boat. It took as around 3 h to walk around the whole island and you have lovely views to see Atlantic Ocean, you will find amazing, huge seashells, nice pebbles, sea stars and many more interesting things. The water was clean and clear with a lovely beach to swim in, just need to be careful with powerful waves. After nice walk and swim you can visit the only restaurant in the island and the food there is amazing and fresh. There is also stunning view next to the lighthouse.

Such a nice location. Visited for an afternoon and was lovely. Its slightly cooler than inland Faro which was nice. Not a cloud in the sky and the sea is crystal clear. Only costs €5 to get over on a 45 min boat ride. Would definitely recommend!

The Barreta island, or Ihla Deserta, is a must see if you are in Faro. We visited in December, but the weather was still great for sunbathing and a swim. You can hike around the island, and stop any time for a swim or to enjoy the view. We got there using the ferry, which was 10€ with return for a 45' journey each way. We found that the side of the island where the ferry left us had better places to swim, as the water was calm, while it was pretty wavy & windy on the other side of the island. As the island is deserted, there is only one restaurant there, which can be pricey if you want to dine in, but we used their take away service and the sandwiches were reasonably priced and tasty.

Lovely isolated beach to visit if you are looking to relax somewhere with few people. You can take the ferry from Faro that costs 5 euros and it takes around 45 mins to arrive or there is a faster option with shuttle that takes 15 minutes and it costs 10 euros.
There is one restaurant at the island but it expensive so I would recommend to bring food if you don’t want to spend more money on food.
There is an option to rent an umbrella with two chairs that costs 20 euros for the whole day.
I think if you are planning to go 3-4 hours is enough to spend on the island!
Beautiful views, the sand is so soft but the water cold!

Faro, Portugal
I'll never travel to Praia da Rocha without this trip planner again
The Catholic cathedral dating back to the 13th century is a beautiful sight in Faro. The Igreja de Se courtyard and surrounding orange trees are a lovely addition to an otherwise modern old town. At the heart of the city, the Se cathedral is a must-see for visitors to Faro. On top of the clock tower there are wonderful views of Faro and the Ria Formosa Natural Park.
Quite nice to visit. You have access to the cathedral, the upper level with a museum where you can see the cathedral from above, then a garden with a sun clock and 2 small chapels (including one with bones but not very well preserved) and the rooftop. The view from the rooftop are very nice, and you can see the bells.
Sarah Zup — Google review
Faro’s cathedral is a beautiful, tranquil place, a strange but enticing mixture of styles after being looted and damaged in an earthquake over the centuries. It costs €5 for the whole complex. The church is full of interesting features, from tiled chapels to opulent altarpieces, and it is certainly worth the short climb to the upper choir to see the organ up close. There is also a small museum upstairs, plus an external altarpiece made of bones. Climbing the tower gives unsurpassed views of the town and surrounding area, although beware as the first set of steps are steep and badly worn. Usefully, there are also toilet facilities on site.

Lovely Cathederal dating back to 1498. The Cathederal was undergoing essential refurbishment works so we couldn't see the full spenders this Cathederal has to offer. Wonderful view of Faroe from the top of the tower and a big thumbs up to the guy in the ticket office, great sence of humour. 👍👍😃

From outside, there is nothing special about this cathedral. The interior though is a different story. There is so much art and history to make the place a must see if you are in the area. After that, going up the tower is the icing on the cake. Great views all around that stretch from the old town to the ocean.

For €5, it's a lovely little experience with an amazing view. Definitely not for anyone with poor mobility as there are a lot of steps, especially if you want to head up the tower
Kerrianne O'Mahoney — Google review
This Cathedral building was started in 1251, two years after the Christian Reconquest of Faro from the Muslim Moors. It has undergone several renovations and additions since, the last major changes made after the earthquakes in 1722 and 1755. A rather sad historical fact is that in 1596 the city of Faro and the Cathedral were sacked and burned by the English troops of Robert Devereux, 2nd Earl of Essex, on their way back from the capture of Cádiz.
The altars and the various chapels are marvelously decorated and carved, some with tiled walls with biblical illustrations. The entrance ticket (€2.00 for the over 65s) also gives access to the tower, from where there is great views of the town, the waterfront and the airport. As we stood there, a white stork flew past on its way to its nest on the roof of one of the nearby buildings.
Across the inner courtyard there is a small bone chapel with skulls (mostly broken) built into the walls.

Tavira Island is a barrier island located off the coast of Tavira city. Accessible by boat or tourist train, this 11-kilometer-long sandbar boasts stunning Blue Flag beaches with crystal clear waters perfect for swimming. The island features several good beaches and is a popular destination for tourists looking to soak up the sun on comfortable sun loungers. It's also home to restaurants and even plastic bottle banks for fish disposal.
We liked the way you get there. By ferry from Tavira, 20min or so. The island is very green, has place for picnic, restaurants and small shops. The beach is huge, very busy in summer!

The island is approx. 1.5km circular walk. Lovely white sands and clear waters although there were quite a few jelly fish. All your expected beach amenities are there - restaurants, bars sundowners areas for those not wanting the loungers. Relatively quiet in the morning. Got busier in the afternoon.

Ah, Ilha de Tavira, a hidden gem in the southern coast of Portugal, where pristine beaches, azure waters, and untouched nature come together to create a paradise for beach lovers and nature enthusiasts alike.
As I step off the boat onto this enchanting island, I'm immediately greeted by the sight of endless stretches of golden sand and the gentle lapping of the Atlantic Ocean. Ilha de Tavira is part of the Ria Formosa Natural Park, a protected area known for its unique ecosystem of salt marshes, lagoons, and dunes, making it a haven for wildlife and a sanctuary for those seeking a tranquil escape.
The island's main beach, Praia de Tavira, is a postcard-perfect scene, with its soft sands and crystal-clear waters that beckon visitors to take a refreshing dip. As I walk along the shoreline, I can't help but be mesmerized by the natural beauty that surrounds me. Seagulls soar above, and the gentle breeze carries the scent of salt and sea, creating a sensory symphony that soothes the soul.
One of the highlights of Ilha de Tavira is its ecologically diverse landscape. The sand dunes that fringe the beach are a fragile ecosystem, home to rare plant species and a sanctuary for nesting birds. The island's unique environment is carefully protected and preserved, allowing visitors to experience nature at its most pristine.
As I venture away from the main beach, I discover hidden coves and secluded spots, where I can find my own slice of paradise away from the crowds. The tranquility of these spots is unmatched, and I find myself drawn to the sense of solitude and peace that envelops me.
At the eastern end of the island, I come across the picturesque fishing village of Tavira, a place frozen in time, where traditional whitewashed houses and cobbled streets exude an old-world charm. It's a place where time seems to slow down, and the rhythms of life are in sync with the ebb and flow of the tides.
Ilha de Tavira is more than just a beach destination; it's a place to connect with nature and experience the simple joys of life. I spend my days basking in the sun, strolling along the shore, and relishing the freshest seafood at beachside restaurants. Evenings are spent watching the sun dip below the horizon, painting the sky in a glorious display of colors.
As I reluctantly bid farewell to Ilha de Tavira, I know that its beauty and serenity will remain etched in my heart. It's a place where time seems to stand still, where the beauty of nature and the simplicity of life come together in perfect harmony, creating a sanctuary of peace and wonder on Portugal's sun-kissed coast.

This is the main beach with the biggest “structure” in Tavira region and islands.
Several restaurants, camping and all beach facilities and services.
You can take the ferry at “Cais das 4 águas” which is much closer than taking it in Tavira center.
This is also the more crowded beach in the area, but once you arrive in Tavira island beach you can walk west to find less crowded spots.

Praia do Barril is a unique beach in Portugal that can be reached by crossing a bridge and taking a charming train ride or walking for 10 minutes. This laid-back sand beach boasts an oceanfront "cemetery" where old tuna-boat anchors are displayed, adding to its historical significance. Visitors can enjoy the sight of the Tuna fishery and walk through swamps to reach the beach, making it one-of-a-kind.
Nice beach, with a different way than other Portuguese beaches to reach to. You have a nice path to walk, pass the bridge on the river, and then you can use the cute train to get to beach or walk (takes 10 minutes).
You'll see the historical Tuna fishery, nice anchor graveyard, and can chill on the beach if it's not windy.

Beautiful beach, super clean sand and water. It's a little more pricey than other beaches in the area, beds, food drink etc. hence the 4 stars. But actually it has everything you need in one place, so it's great to spend a day or two here. The little train to get there is quirky, very enjoyable. Also it's nice to actually walk to the beach, and take in some of the natural surroundings, and spot the wildlife.

Really interesting place to visit. I'm not sure of the full story but I believe it was where the fishermen left their anchors in the sand after the tuna fishing industry started to die out in this area. Very beautiful beach.

Long beach 🏖️ with excellent sand and a beautiful track.
There isn't so much free 🅿️ parking there but there is a pay parking 🅿️ that is reasonable.
There is around 1.1km way to get to the beach ⛱️.
You can walk or you can take the train 🚂 that is cheap (2€). I'd rather go walking since the track is beautiful and you can easily watch the local animals that are there like the crabs.

Depends when you visit!
This beach is all things for all people! Off season it’s empty and, as mentioned elsewhere, it is perfect for walks by the more sedate with wonderful shells to look out for. In season it’s packed with families, couples, friends all making it a buzzing place. A choice of bars, clean toilets, a little boutique or two and a children’s playground for when they’re bored of the beach. Apparently it has had algae/ seaweed at some point - what beach doesn’t? And sometimes it apparently has waves! I’ve never seen either. When you’re knackered from all the fun you can take the little train back to the bridge before the car park. In season it can be a long walk to the car from there!

There is also a protected forest running parallel to the beach.
There are also good restaurants and cafes on the beach where you can eat or have a drink. The only thing that really bothers you is the city's ugly high-rise hotels.
Maybe that will change over time, because Monte Gordo is a really nice place to stay.

The Playa de la Barrosa is a 6km long beach that was the site of the Battle of Barrosa. It offers activities such as swimming and surfing. The beach has a gentle slope, making it great for children, but can be quite windy with lots of waves. Beautiful sunsets can be seen from here, and in October, the sea is warm and the beach relatively empty. Free parking is available along with small play areas scattered throughout.
This is a fantastic beach! From the north end (just south of Costa Sancti Petri) to the south end (at Novo Sancti Petri), it's about 6 kilometers long. The beach is wide and clean, and most of the sand is soft. The waves are usually fairly gentle making wading and swimming easy. There's a consistent breeze that keeps the beach cool. There are plenty of restaurants within a block of the beach; while on the beach, you're never more than a few hundred meters from one. Near Novo Sancti Petri, people on the beach are mostly foreign tourists or expats (I walked the whole beach on a weekday in October. Almost everyone I passed at the south end was speaking German). There seem to be more Spanish tourists and locals at the north end.
Trash is almost non-existent on this beach.

The Catedral de Cádiz is a grand cathedral with ornate baroque architecture and neoclassical elements, including a yellow dome, towers, and main facade. Commissioned in 1716 by architect Vicente Acero, the project took over a century to complete with the addition of neoclassical features. Notable highlights inside include an intricate wood-carved choir and the tomb of renowned gaditano composer Manuel de Falla in the crypt below.
Impressive historic cathedral in Cadiz.
Thanks to a reasonable entry fee it was not crowded at all, so we could enjoy it in peace and quiet.
The crypt is great too with an echoing vault chamber that you should not miss out on.
Also great is the bell tower that you can walk 40m upwards with no stairs but a circular ramp.
I would recommend it this to all who visit Cadiz.
Andreas Clemenz — Google review
So, not a great deal to say about this, its a cathedral! But they have an audio guide which you can access on your phone which is good, a crypt and a tower you can climb. The tower gives great views over the city and the climb up was surprisingly easy because its mostly a slopping floor rather than steps. Although still not an easy climb in the heat and would avoid if you have any mobility issues. Reasonable price of entry too, worth a visit if you are in the area
Mark B — Google review
A must visit in Cadiz, absolutely stunning.
You must also make time to visit the cript and take the ramp up the tower for the best views over Cadiz.
Only €7 entrance fee, which is very reasonable indeed.
SARAH BANCROFT — Google review
This architectural era was all about the money, but I don’t know how this was financed. How everything was made to fit and not a lot of mistakes were on display...
it is indeed the typical cathedral built 100 years ago. I must say the bathroom was my favourite part.

Cadiz Cathedral is definitely a place to visit. A rather controversial architectural amalgam (find out the details during the visit), it is nevertheless an interesting edifice. The church tower is a panoramic spot over the city very good for photos.

It’s seven euros to get in. I think it’s a little steep, but it includes going to the bell tower as well. The cathedral itself is gorgeous make sure to go down to the crypt. There is a memorial for the famous composer Manuel de falla. My favorite part is, of course, going up to the bell tower. There are no steps but a gradual incline to go up. The view from the top is gorgeous. You can see the beach and much of the city. Beware that when the bell rings, it is loud. Overall it is a beautiful experience.

Best panoramic wiev of the citY!!! The Long narrow climb up the Levante Tower, will be worth it in the end. After the visit sit acroos the entranceand enjoy live music street performers and Best icecream ever. 7 EUR entrance Is for the tower, the church and the crypt in which are buried the composer Manuel de Falla and the poet and playwright José María Pemán, both born in Cádiz. Translation of the name Is :The Cathedral of the Holy Cross over the Waters

Absolutely one of the most beautiful examples of beautiful stone architecture. This is one of the places I would recommend to anyone that loves architecture to visit. It cost $6.50 bur very worth it!!

If you haven’t seen many cathedrals than you may like this one. It wasn’t that beautiful to me. You have a free audio guide through QR code on your phone. But the guide was mostly about the painting and the sculptures and to detailed. It took too long. You can also visit the tower with the same entrance ticket. From the tower you will have a view over Cadiz.

Awe inspiring architecture inside and lots of information stands giving the historical context for each specific area of the cathedral. Really cheap entry as well.

Obviously the outside is amazing. But it’s not possible to enter without paying. A lot of famous churches do this but make an exception for religious services etc. Here you always pay. Really bizarre for a church.

It is a beautiful and peaceful place to wander around and take a break. I definitely recommend a visit. When in the crypt, if you stand in the centre of the dome and make the slightest noise, it will be echoed around for several seconds. Amazing accoustics.

I had a dinner next to the Cathedral of Cadiz, you could enjoy the bells during supper. Very surreal!

Main cathedral of cadiz €7 entry gets you up the Tower inside the cathedral and a museum in a separate building, well worth the price. Its a ramp to the top of the tower with a few stairs at the top, the bells are active and ring every 15 miunites so be aware it's loud. Great 360 views from the top.

A wonderful and magnificent Cathedral of Cadiz. A huge building and contains much of marble works. It has many small altars dedicated to saints. It has a wonderful altar and a crypt beneath the altar containing many things including the incorruptible body of St Victoria brought here.from Rome in the 1800s. The marble works are amazing.

Great cathedral had beautiful architecture but I think because we had visited el puerto Santa Maria and visited iglesia mayor prioral in the morning (for free) and had such a wonderful experience the cathedral paled by comparison
Plus you pay 7 euros to go in
It however lacked for me

Really nice cathedral. The ticket includes the access to the tower. There is a ramp, which makes it easier to reach the top and the view is amazing. The bells are also there and well working. So, mind the clock because the noise from the bells is quite loud 😆

Lovely cathedral with catacombs and a tower to go up. No steps to the tower to be climbed, its a slope all the way to the top. With beautiful views over this lovely city. All included in the entrance price, reduction on entry for seniors.

Beautiful cathedral inside and out but no headsets available when we visited.
The view from the tower was lovely.
The Torre Tavira is a beautiful historical landmark located in Cadiz, with amazing views of the city. It is also home to a camera obscura and two exhibition halls which provide fascinating information about the tower and its history.
Torre Tavira, along with the Cathedral bell tower, offers the best views of Cadiz. You'll see a whole different perspective of the city from above.
The tower itself is one of over 140 watchtowers in Cadiz and is located close to the market. What makes it unique is it also the home of the first Camera Obscura in Spain - a combination of a telescope and mirrors/lenses that allow real time images to be projected onto a circular screen inside.
The first two levels of the tower have exhibitions and information on the history of the camera obscura and Cadiz in the 18th century. The third level houses the camera obscura itself, and above is a fantastic rooftop terrace with uninterrupted views of the entire city.
To visit the tower you'll need to make a reservation online. Due to the pandemic numbers are tightly controlled. I booked the night before and had no problems but in peak tourist season you might need to book further in advance. The tower is open between 10am - 6pm October - April and 10am - 8pm May - September. The price is 7 euros.
You'll typically spend about 30-40 minutes here. 15 minutes consists of viewing the camera obscura with a guide that will explain how it works and show you a 360 degree live view of Cadiz. They also point out many of the main attractions of Cadiz and explain the differences between the 4 main types of towers. Some of the points of interest are impossible to see from anywhere on the streets including the oldest tower. The rest of the time you are free to look at the exhibitions and view the city from the roof terrace. I was booked on the Spanish speaking tour but the guide spoke both Spanish and English.

A visit to Torre Tavira is a quintessential experience, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the city and a fascinating glimpse into the past through its camera obscura. The tower itself is a remarkable piece of architecture, dating back to the 18th century and boasting a unique design that maximizes its viewing potential. While the views from the top are incredible, the real highlight of the experience lies in the camera obscura. This ingenious device projects a real-time image of the city onto a large concave screen, creating a magical and immersive viewing experience.
To fully appreciate the camera obscura, I highly recommend reserving a guided tour. The knowledgeable guide provide insightful commentary and historical context, making the experience even more enriching.
Whether you're a history buff, a photography enthusiast, or simply seeking a breathtaking view of Andalusia, a visit to Torre Tavira is an absolute must-do.

Awesome views over Cadiz and fascinating camera obscura with real time views. Great commentary from the guide and interesting information cards on the levels to the top

The tower is easily reached on foot. It is not very high and can be climbed in 10 mins. The stairs are narrow and two way traffic can be a bit cramped at times.
The ladies at the reception are very friendly and helpful and speak multiple languages.
The view from the top is quite extensive specially since Cadiz is quite a flat town.
They also have guided tours every 30 mins or so. They also have a special discount for ship crew members.
Farzad Bhagat — Google review
This tower is 100% the best view in cadiz, and one of the best viewpoints I've had throughout Europe. Its €5 just to go to the top, for the obscura you need to book in advance, but the viewpoint is what's important. Its an easy climb to the top, where you are given 360⁰ panoramic views of the entire city. Definitely recommend.
Rob Hall — Google review
a charming place to visit. there are regular guided tours and it is worth going on one as it's the only way to see the telescope in action and the "tour" of the city is interesting and fun with the history presented in a very light touch way. it is a bit of a walk up but it is worth it if you can manage it.
Sophie Service — Google review
Interesting view of the city. One of the visitors in my group simply disregarded the no photography sign and the guide's instructions, taking pictures with flash, was the only bad thing about the visit. It is recommended to book tickets in advance.

Highest tower of 133 towers in Cadiz. Climb to the top for a 360 degrees view of the whole of Cadiz. Information about Cadiz on several of the levels on the way up. There's a camera obscura as well but needs to be booked in advance as very limited capacity, so we didn't get to see that bit.

Brilliant uninterrupted panoramic views of cadiz from the top €5 entry for the view and €7 for the observe show. Great views of the cathedral from the top.

It’s a reasonable climb to the top of the tower and the views of Cadiz were great. The Camera Obscura was excellent and interesting. We pre-booked although not sure it was necessary. We spent about 30 mins at Torre Tavira.

Great view of the city. Probably the best view of the city as you are in the middle of it and you can also view the cathedral.
Entrance is only 5€ without the camera obscura. We did not do it as it needs to be booked in advance. Don’t think it’s a must though as you can use Google Maps to see what you are surrounded by.

Tio Pepe is a bodega located in Jerez, Andalusia, Spain. Founded in 1835 by local entrepreneur Manual Gonzalez Angel, the winery produces dry white sherry known for its intense flavor. The winery offers guided tours and tastings that are highly informative and enjoyable.
Reserved the tour online, the 12.30 slot. The guide was lovely, good English. Tour was interesting and a mini tasting to end it. The bodega itself is quite photogenic. Would recommend it!
Esther Kool (Go Live Go Travel) — Google review
I would not even give this place 1 star, it’s not an option.
We planned a day for the sherry triangle (or part of it)
tasting, experience , knowledge,…. Excited for what we would learn .
However, we started with Gonzalez Byass aka Teo Pepe
We signed up for the English tour with the best sherry & tapa option
There were a lot of folks for the tour so they spit it , the 1st guide seemed really pushy so we waited for the second
They announced: ” we are waiting for a few to arrive that have reserved and then we will start.”
I thought , why would you tell us that ?!!! Instead of “ we will began shortly”
This should have been a red flag for what would be…
I just don’t even know how to express enough that our tour guide should “never” be a tour guide!!!
Or , even have a job where she deals with the public… ever!!!!
We had the second English tour on 03 January 2024
I am pretty sure she was able to be assertively negative to each and everyone of us.
I truly believe she hated us.
Which made me hate this brand!!!!
We finally get to the tasting and tapas
I am excited because I had studied and learned how well sherry paired with food
Not so
It was so bad
So disappointed
We had set out for our day…
…. our vacation, our time, our money, …
To have an amazing experience
and instead
We were beat up
We never went to another sherry bodega either
We were done
Chalk it up for the worst day of our vacation!!!!
I highly recommend , if you are still interested in visiting a sherry bodega after reading this Do Not Visit González Byass / Teo Pepe!!!!
No one should spend their vacation, their time, their money to be treated like we were treated
( on vacations we visit distilleries, wineries, breweries & other production tours known for the area. This Is by far the worst tour !)

Fun tour of the Tio Pepe sherry producing facilities in Jerez, followed by tasting 4 different sherrys. We also elected to have the food platter to accompany the sherry which was good. Plenty of sherry provided. A good afternoon and very informative, worth the cost.

For €18 pp I would expect a bit more than just a commercial tour and two drips of Sherry, sorry I should say 'Jerez'. No 'refills'?

We had a tour & VOSP tasting tickets. The tour was good, even though the train broke. The guide was very knowledgeable and. provided a lot of coverage.
But the tasting was plain awful. Most of the tasting was arranged by the guide and 1 waiter and for the group of ~15 tables it took very long. To make things worse the more expensive VOSP ticket holders were served last. We where wondering why did we pay extra just to wait 15 more minutes looking at other people at nearby tables already half way through the tasting.
Also we received only cheese snacks while other tables (including one other VOSP table) received Cheese and Jamon for snacks to accompany the tasting. It just looked like total chaos.
And, BTW, the VOSP Jeres wines very pretty plain. You expect some kind of rich nuanced taste from the old wine, but this ones did not look like the wines you want to age. They already lost nice strong taste of the young wine, but did not show this soft deep taste of the old one. This is subjective, but I would not recommend old wines from Tio Pepe.
Vitalii Tymchyshyn — Google review
The tour was a little slow, but the tasting itself was quite good. They give large pours for a tasting and the sherries were good (I had the VORS tasting).
Cameron Goff — Google review
Toured the bodega on 7th November 2022 with a group. Entry fee is about 18 euro but worth it if you are interested in learning more about sherry. We had a tour of the facilities with a good English speaking guide and finished off with a short tasting of a few of their sherries. Of the four offered for tasting there was only one (the extra dry) that didn't appeal to me. Several others thought the same. Quite an extensive set-up that handles weddings, receptions, etc. There is a gift shop and a hotel on site.
Paul Smith — Google review
Rather pricey for what you get. A tour lasting about one hour where you get to see parts of the property (beautiful) and some info about the winery.
They show a ten minute video which is basically just a commercial. Definitely adapted to mass tourism. The tapas at the end was a big disappointment, not worth the money unfortunately.
All in all OK if you fancy sherry.
Johannes L — Google review
This was a disappointing visit. We were a group of 4 on the tour + 4 wine tasting with tapas visit in English. We could barely hear the guide. The had a small headset that barely amplified her voice and we lost at least half of the information. They took us to watch a video that we also couldn't hear well and there were no subtitles to make up for the echo in the room. Then she quickly described the wines while we waited outside of the tasting room. Once we were in the tasting room, there was nobody available to answer questions or further explain the wines and tapas.
The Sandeman bodega has a much better sherry visit + tour. If you like reds and whites, Luiz Perez also has a great visit and tasting as long as you take a taxi or have a DD to drive since it's just outside the city.
Victoria Smith — Google review
We really enjoyed this tour. We’ve been in on lots of bodega tours and this is one of the best. It helps that it’s a really beautiful place. Tio Pepe have made their bodega a really special place. The tour guide ‘Agatha’ was exceptionally good. The shop as you would expect is very good. Overall I would really recommend this tour
Patrick Bastow — Google review
The "tour" is a joke. Half of it on a "train", when one gets to see nothing but some walls. The other half is about moving from one cellar to another looking at barrels. No valuable information about the process, nothing worth hearing or seeing. Then, a short "movie" done, most likely, by some 12 year old for a school project.
The tasting was good, because it is sherry. But, €25 for 4 half glasses of sherry is a bit expensive. I do not recommend it. At all. A huge tourist trap.
soleDrummer music — Google review
A bit disappointing. This was likely because when we arrived to purchase same day tickets for the English tour, they said there was no English tour that day even though on their website it said they did. Multiple others ran into the same problem as us. We all just ended up buying tickets for the Spanish tour. They take you in a small red trolley-like bus through the yard then you get off at the entrance again and go on a walking tour of the indoor facilities. The tour guide during the trolley part was extremely hard to hear because the sound system in the carts are really faint. The walking bit is more interesting. We got the most expensive 4 sherries + tapas tasting ticket and I would recommend not getting the tapas unless you didn’t eat anything in the morning (because the sherries are kind of strong) as the tapas are just little croutons, cheese cubes, and a couple salami cubes. I don’t know why but for some reason I thought these tapas would be like restaurant tapas; they’re not. I didn’t like the sweet sherries (2 of the 4). Regardless of which tasting you pick, you will try at least one dry and one sweet sherry. I honestly think that’s about enough though, don’t think you need all four and most people just take two sips then discard the rest. The grounds are probably much prettier in the spring or summer but quite barren in the winter.

The Alcazar de Jerez is a fascinating medieval fortress with remains of Islamic influence, located in the heart of Jerez. It was originally built by the Moors to resist Christian invaders, and you can visit the baths, mosque and defensive walls and towers today.
Fantastic historical site in the middle of Jerez. We visited in January and the place was empty. We enjoyed this as much as our visit to Grenada, especially considering the few visitors in Jerez. The entrance fee is only €5 and you can spend a good hour on the grounds. The history of the place is extremely interesting so we recommend reading up ahead of time.

Well worth a visit, not as grand as some we've seen but lots of history. Some very old ruins on show and an old pharmacy. The camera obscure was shut when we visited. There were Arab baths with star holes in the ceiling and an olive pressing room. It would've been nice to have a postcard but there was no gift shop.
Bev Baker — Google review
I only intended to spend 30 minutes here but ended up staying for almost 2 hours. What a gem of a place this is to visit. It may lack some of the scale or grandeur of its cousins in Sevilla and Granada but it has many positives that make it worth your while.
Firstly there's the price - at only 5 euros this is great value for money. You can download a tour guide via a QR code but if you're unable to do this don't worry - there are plenty of information boards throughout, in both Spanish and English. Due to covid they don't take cash.
The other great positive is that almost everything is accessible. Indoors you'll find temples, baths, museums displaying artefacts and tools (some of them enormous), grand rooms displaying billboards from yesteryear and even a pharmacy with hundreds of interesting items on display.
Outdoors you'll find landscaped gardens, courtyards, archaeological sites, water wheels and towers and fortress walls you can climb to access great views across the city and the nearby cathedral.
Well worth an hour of your time.

Loved visiting this site. Very well preserved, with many signs in English as well as Spanish. For those areas with no English signage, you can easily use a QR code on your phone to get a voice over of the history. The gardens were beautiful, and on a Tuesday afternoon mid summer it wasn't super busy. There were plenty of shady spots to take breaks, which was good as it was much larger than we anticipated to see every inch of it. The pharmacy was a special treat. Highly recommend a visit if you are in the area and have the time.

Muelle de las Carabelas is a museum that commemorates Columbus' voyage and the art of shipbuilding. It features an exhibit hall and three reconstructed ships, all meticulously maintained. The museum building is beautifully designed and every detail is carefully crafted. Visitors can learn a lot about Columbus, making it perfect for families with children or anyone interested in history. Wheelchair access is available, but access to the boats may not be possible.
This is definitely a must see if you visit Huelva. It's an amazing historical place, the place where Christopher Columbus prepared and start his adventure on discovering new land, known today as America. Inside there is a video room of presentation about this and some artifacts from that time. The attraction point would be the 3 replicas of the boats that Columbus used in his exploration Nina, Pinta and Santa Maria. Lovely set up of this place. Woths your time!

You will definitely learn a lot even if you think you already know a lot about Columbus.
Perfect for families with kids, young and mentally young people.
You can access the museum with wheelchair although I don’t think you can get inside the boats. The access is ok for small strollers.

This place is worth a visit, our 3 year old loved to explore the boats and we learned a couple of more facts about Columbus his travels. We’ve seen it all in about an hour, but as it was only 3 euro entry for the 4 of us it was definitely value for money.
Unfortunately a lot of the info was in Spanish. It did show a QR code for additional languages, but all the QR codes were broken and directed to their main website, also in Spanish.

We visited this castle and were able to park almost next to the city walls. The castle entrance was a few minutes walk away, following the line of the walls through parkland.
Entry to the castle is free and you can walk part of the castle walls. It is a small castle and there are no buildings inside but the tower is both visible for miles and allows you to see for miles! It is well restored and you can climbed the 180 odd steps to the roof, passing through three rooms with vaulted ceilings to get there.

Castelo de Beja is a medieval castle in Beja. The first types of walls were built [4th century] on the Beja's hill during the Roman Empire [Pax Julia]. Part of the Roman arch ("Évora Gate") dated from this general construction in the Roman provinces. The city was very important and a lot of things inside the castle were changed or improved by Visigoths, Moors, and Portuguese rulers.
The region was reconquered in 1159 by the forces of King Afonso Henriques. In 1253, King D. Afonso III began work on reconstructing the fortress. King D. Dinis ordered the construction of the keep tower in 1310. At the beginning of the 16th century, King D. Manuel I began a project to improve the fortification, that possibly included the construction of the vaulted ceiling in the keep tower. In 1790, part of the fortifications were demolished to construct the new church.
The castle was secondly [after the period of Reconquista] used during the 19 century. against the army of Napoleon.
You can enter the castle for free (and the local museum also), but the price to visit the tower is 2 EUR [or 1 EUR for students].
[!]Take into consideration that the schedules of the castle and the tower are different. The castle: 9:30-12:30/14-18. The tower: 9:30-12:00/14:00-18:00. The last entrance into the tower is 30 min before it is closed.

Very beautiful castle in the old town center of Beja. You can freely visit the castle there and, for a small fee, you can also climb the tower to the top. A great view of the entire city and the surrounding area is the reward for the climb.

The 2€ entry is very much worth it. Not just the view, but the site is well maintained and a lot of the structure is authentic. It was interesting to see each stone marked with the original stonecutter's sign.

It's an amazing place to visit. I was able to experience what it was like to live in Beja 700 years ago. There are many plagues with explanations of the evolution of the castle as warfare tactics changed over the centuries. The tower is breathtaking.

Unique castle and fun to explore. Little art gallery but nothing else here, not really a museum and a few plaques about the structure. Definitely worth a visit if nearby but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit

(Translated by Google) Wow, the Nerja cave beats it by far, very lovingly and cleverly illuminated. Comments like: you can't take photos, touch anything, take nothing with you, it happens much too quickly, what nonsense, it is explained in the simplest terms why this is so and is understandable for every clear-thinking person. The negative comments can only have come from egomaniacal minds!!
And it's worth visiting the grotto more often - we always discover something new and inspiring, be it simply the climate.
We are very grateful to be able to visit this extraordinary place, because one thing is clear: the entrance fees hardly cover the entertainment.

Respekt

(Translated by Google) It is worth enjoying this wonderful cave located in the heart of the town of Aracena. Very busy. Small groups. Guided tour and explanations through headphones that are provided to you at the entrance. Good explanation from the guide although with little enthusiasm. Approx. time 45/50 minutes that taste like little because you can't stop longer to enjoy its splendor. Temperature approx. 16° and 100% humidity (it is advisable to wear a jacket due to the sudden change in outside temperature). Very slippery floor. Zero security (inexplicable they do not provide a helmet). Not suitable for people with reduced mobility. Taking photos with/without flash is prohibited. Halfway there they take a photo that you can buy at the end of the visit for €8 (merchandising, like in all places)
Totally recommended to visit this wonderful work of nature.

Seguridad nula (inexplicable no faciliten casco). No apto para personas con movilidad reducida. Prohibido sacar fotos con/sin flash. A mitad de camino te hacen una foto que puedes comprar al final de la visita por 8€ (merchandising, como en todos los lugares)
