Worth going to see this ancient site while in Santorini. It's bigger than expected, very high up and it's so windy up there so hold on to your belongings. We took a minibus up but some people walked up or went by car, moped or quad. It doesn't take long to get around the Ancient City about 1.5hrs is plenty of time

We really liked the views from the top. The multiple switchbacks to drive to the top were thrilling for the kids. The ruins themselves were definitely a glimpse into the far history of this region. I wanted to hike to the monastery at the top of Mount Ilyas, which is about 1.9 km from the parking lot, but ran out of sunlight. This place is a must for history buffs and anyone who enjoys a bit of hiking. Drive up to the entrance and then hike to the monastery 🙂

Worth visiting just for the visual feast even if you do not like history. It was beautiful despite the overcast clouds on the day I visited. Although there are free parking near the entrance, there isn’t much parking slots available. Great historical landmark to visit. The view is very good from the top. You can pay for the ticket at the entrance with card. Close early in the afternoon so better go earlier in the day.

Very narrow path to the top only for fit people,took forty minutes get to the summit but it was well worth it the ancient city is amazing and if you look on the ground you can see ancient pottery as if it was dropped yesterday.

I went here on my first day in Santorini - it was quiet as I went early and also the weather was a lil windy and wet so put people off. Recommend - lovely views and some amazing history. I drove up the road to the top - that's an experience in itself! Hairpin bends and that view - amazing.

Go see Ancient Thira! There is a lot of walking involved but all so worth it to see the amazing history that is here. Spent quite some time here marveling at the ruins. The precise cuts on the stone and marble is fascinating. Some ancient Greek written on some areas. If you are here don't miss this piece of history. I recommend driving as it would be a long walk up from either side. So much beauty here and a great view of the island from the top.

The experience viewing such a well preserved ancient city was incredible and unique. With a little fantasising you can imagine how the place would like back then. The tickets are cheap. You can go by foot or vehicle easily. I recommend vehicle because the ground elevation. The view is insanely beautiful. If you have kids you need to have them by close and don’t let them go to the cliff side fuse it’s too high.

Amazing cultural experience! We rented a buggy and drove up, but for you people who have a problem walking or health issues... there is still a fair amount if walking in stairs and uphill! But everything was so well preserved and the views are to die for!

My 2 friends and I called ahead and booked a visit. We had a great time learning about Gaia wines from the excellent host. We tasted the whole range, including the outstanding Estate Red, I will certainly be buying more on return home.

I came to Gaia wines to host a private pre-wedding event for friends and family. Not being on the island I communicated with Anastasia over email and received detailed and timely responses. The event was an absolute success and the venue was gorgeous (as were the wines). We were served Greek salads and cheese spreads along with a tasting of 4 of their wines - every single wine was delicious, it’s hard to choose a favourite. We chose the Assyrtiko wild fermented, 4-6 hr rose, the Agiorgitiko, and their famous Vinsanto. The location is stunning - while there is no sunset you can truly enjoy the sunset colours with a beautiful sea backdrop as this is right in the water. Excellent service from the staff, and special shout out to Anastasia who was there to help before and during the event. Truly a hidden gem in Santorini, I strongly recommend you check them out if you’re looking to avoid the overly touristy wineries, you won’t be disappointed. Fantastic wine tasting experience today. Such a wonderful setting. Very relaxed but better still such friendly staff who introduce you to their wines so brilliantly. We have wine tasted in many places but this was one of the best. Also so pretty and - sometimes hard to do in Santorini - away from the busyness of most other places in the island. Lovely place by the sea, with lovely and kind people that are willing to introduce you in the wine world . We had the BEST wine tasting experience! The highlight was Anastasia and Sofia, both with deep knowledge in the wine sector and eager to explain every little detail about the wines. Definitely one should try the vinsanto of the winery, if not the best, for sure in the top 3 of Santorini.

And 3 stars is generous. 14 Euro pp for a wine tasting of 4 wines. Atmosphere is ok being next to the ocean but the place is quite run-down. The dogs running around didn't annoy me.. The staff were friendly. The wine was good... For the amount you pay for the tasting, and the fillings you receive.. There are many other better wineries on the island to visit.

Amazing wines with a fantastic view right on the beach and extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff. We heard very mixed reviews about Greek wine before visiting Santorini, but my wife and I loved every single wine on the tasting. We highly recommend.

Was recommended to come here from the Santorini Brewing Company and what a find, off the track, next to the runway but right on the beach. We just popped in and they were so happy to accommodate us. We had the 8 wine tasting course along with the cheese, it was beautiful, looking out over the sea, tasting some lovely wines and cheeses. Highly recommended
