This castle is one of the plain looking ones that I’ve been to but it does look elegant. You won’t need to spend too much time here, maybe just an hour. There is a gift shop at the castle where you can buy some souvenirs. There is also parking nearby.

It was a really nice place to go have a look around. The tickets were more than fairly priced and castle grounds themselves were extremly neat and well cared for. The history of the castle was very interesting and well presented. I had a really nice time. Its a shame that so many tourists around japan are rude, especially at tourist attractions.

Inside the Castle itself there is lots of historical information and plenty in English too, all wonderfully presented. We learnt an extensive amount about the Castle, the Boshin War, the Byakkotai and more. It was quite an emotional journey through history. The gift shop was well stocked with souvenirs, foods, sake and other drinks.

Very beautiful castle for an Autumn visit. I also believe in Spring it is surrounded by cherry blossoms. Included in the ticket price for the castle is entry to the tea ceremony garden, where for an extra 800 yen you can actually have some tea and dessert. What really disappointed me about this castle was the lack of translation available. That sounds so pretentious going to a foreign country and expecting English everywhere, but the Japanese government wants to encourage tourism outside of the major cities. Through the castle grounds most signs had English, Chinese and Korean (as well as Japanese of course). But inside the castle was only Japanese. I love history, and the history of this castle is very interesting, but trying to Google translate every single thing is annoying. Even if I could purchase an audio guide I would be happy. At the end of the day I would definitely still go. I also timed it badly as I thought I could go to the museum next to it for a bit more info of the area, but I didn’t realize it closes on Monday.

The matcha set and gift shop are good too, bought medicinal herb tea and honey at the latter.

I loved this place. We spontaneously joined a guided tour and even though it was in japanese and we did not understand much, it was so interesting to see how sake was made. Additionally we were able to try 5 different kind of Sake afterwards. Both employees we interacted with were so nice and the tour guide even apologized for speaking only japanese. Oh also, the Sake was amazing.

Sake tasting was awesome. Lots of options as well to take home high quality locally made sake at a good price. The tour was entirely in Japanese and the guide spoke very quick. My limited Japanese caught every 100th word.

Interesting building and good to see the inside of the former residence upstairs too. Tours every 30 min with a guide but everything is in Japanese with very little information available in English. If you speak or read Japanese or have someone to translate for you, it is a pleasant diversion. It concludes with sake tastings at the end so is a good way to try a variety without buying blind. There is a huge difference in taste between the varieties. If there was information available in English I would have rated it higher.

They offer free brewery tours on the hour every hour. Nice staff and are helpful when selecting sake. They let you taste different ones before buying.

Be warned, the brewery is closed every 2nd Wednesday of the month. We were unlucky and did not get to go in.

This is our third time so we did not do any tours but tasted their Sake, it was good but did not find anything I liked!

We enjoyed a nice tour through in English in the brewery, covering all the process to produce the best sake. After the tour we had a tasting of the many different types of sake they produce and before heading out we got a sake cake in the factory coffee shop. Highly recommended! Tours take 30 minutes and they start by the hour.

This brewery is very cool on its own, great sake sampling with a friendly owner who gives a tour himself. He does not know a lot of English but this doesn't let it stop him from trying to convey the process behind making Sake and the differences between the different kinds. That would have been awesome enough as it is but once you discover how the brewery links to the history of the town and the castle then you really get an appreciation and sense of awe for this great place.
