For hikers, Plitvice Lakes National Park offers a variety of trails that wind through alpine forests and meadows, past sparkling lakes and waterfalls. The park also contains 16 freshwater lakes that are popular for rafting and kayaking. The park was the site of armed confrontation during Croatia's war of independence in the early 1990s, but has since been renovated as a source of economic wealth for the region. Today, visitors can explore hiking trails and enjoy beautiful natural scenery.
One of the most majestic places I have visited in my life, the winter landscape is beautiful, as well as the paths to walk for hours with a different landscape every 3 meters.
The waterfalls are incredible and it is a super good space to go with pets and be there for at least 3 or 4 hours touring the place.
The staff was very friendly

This is without a doubt the best place I have ever been. Nature is wonderful, here you can see its pure beauty. The place is fantastic, the staff is helpful, there are small restaurants, gift shops, restrooms in the park. The boat fee is included in the entrance fee. I recommend route C, which is not challenging, the total distance is eight kilometers, with a negligible elevation gain. Cool buses will take you back to the main entrance at the end of the visit. 5*

The lakes were simply fantastic, the price is worth the visit, but I recommend mixing up the paths. We were there when the park opened, after the tour and going back to the entrance area we were very glad we went at 7 am.. the place was crowded.. a lot of tourists really. I recommend going as early as you can, if you want to visit calmly and are not too fond of crowds.

Absolutely Stunning creation of Nature!! The hike is beautiful and offers wonderful views. The park has 2 entrances and both entrances have 4 routes to choose from. We entered from entrance 2 and did route H which is quite similar to route C from entrance 1, it is almost 9kms and requires 4 - 6 hours. In the peak season, a ticket costs 40 Euro for an adult and it’s better to buy tickets in advance. Ticket price includes the bus and boat ride.
Trail is well maintained and has clear directions as per routes. It was a bit crowded due to summer vacation, so try going as early as possible in the morning.
Wear comfortable shoes, hiking shoes are recommended though. Carry enough water and some snacks, though you can also buy inside the park.
Definitely worth a visit!!

A very very beautiful national park. Worth visiting.
Better to go early in the morning or afternoon to see the water color as aqua blue/green. By evening since the sun starts setting in the west, it won't reflect on water and may miss the beauty of this magical place.
Trek route C or H is best as it covers both lower and upper lakes. There are beautiful waterfalls in the upper lakes. It will take a minimum of 6 hrs to cover this route.

It had poured down rain all night and morning, so I delayed entering the park until late morning. The guide suggested which trails to take for a good half-day excursion. I really don't think you can go wrong. So beautiful!

From the desk where you buy tickets through the park and back to the souvenir shop - great experience. Kind staff, positive energy.
All accommodation that is in the park is exquisite and great for welcoming guests for years to come.
Nature is splendid and breathtaking. We have treasure that we must preserve.
I'm always happy to come back here.

I can imagine it gets crowded in the summer but on a rainy day in April is was empty, calm, misty and incredibly beautiful. The park itself is intelligently set up, with well-maintained paths and platforms that swirl in-between and right up to the waterfalls without clashing with the landscape. In fact, the park seems to be a model of how to organize such a site in ways which make it ecologically responsible, easily accessible for a lot of people, with well thought out branching paths, sufficient rest stops that are discreetly integrated in the setting and plenty of (silent) boats/shuttles.

It is a beautiful natural park. The views are just amazing! It has very colourful landscapes and lakes. It is definitely worth the visit and to spare a lot of time. Unfortunately I did not had the opportunity to camp for a longer time but now have seeing what I have there, I’d definitely think about staying more time in a next opportunity. I went as couple and during summer which is allegedly the best time to see the crystals on the water reflected by the sunlight.

Beautiful national park. There is a bus that goes directly from Zagreb to the park, it takes approximate 2hrs and 15 minutes . I strongly recommend to purchase the tickets online in advance. It is good to spend at least 6 hours walking around.

Wonderful park. We were lucky to find an amazing sunny weather after the heavy rain of the days before. I suggest to follow the H path from entrance 2. Come early in the morning (we enter at 9am) to fully enjoy the experience without annoying crowd.

Spectacular! The park and the lakes are the Moseley amazing lakes I've ever seen. The color is unreal, the waterfall are stunning. The park is crowded, even early in the morning but very organized. Attention that you also need to pay for parking separately.
Yuval Mohl — Google review
Beautiful. There are several hike options but it can get very busy during the holiday season, even in early September. The trails are quite narrow and you could get held up if one person stops to take pictures.
The cafeterias within the National Park do not offer much choice, especially if you are a vegetarian.
Gopika Avanoor — Google review
I’d like to give this place 5 stars just based off its incredible beauty. But, the park has a bit of a bad design for being able to see it without being overcrowded, which the design and setup of the park causes. There’s basically one narrow boardwalk through the various levels of the lakes, which have no railing. So you really can’t stop anywhere and just take in the view or get pictures that aren’t horribly rushed. They also have a ferry system that appears to be badly overwhelmed with extremely long lines (we didn’t take it because of those lines). Other than that, this park is absolutely gorgeous. Crystal clear blue/green/turquoise waters everywhere. Many waterfalls and overflows and lush green trees. Just absolutely picturesque. But other than that boardwalk, there’s not really much else to see or do, no other trails or anything. There is also timed entry, so either purchase tickets beforehand, or be prepared to wait until the next time available. All in all, if you’re in Croatia, you should definitely go check out this park. Crowds notwithstanding, it’s still a pretty cool place and extremely beautiful.

This is one of the most beautiful places we have ever been. We went here at winter time and the price for the entry was only 10 euro per person, kinds were free since they were 5 and 6. The beauty of the lake and waterfalls can not be described with words. We are looking forward to see it in all season.
Maja Goričanec Ordanić — Google review
The best, must-visit spot of Croatia. The landscapes this park offers are breathtaking. I recommend trail C, and if you have plenty of time, K seems like a great choice too.
Gyuvin K. — Google review
One of the most beautiful places on the earth!! Definitely recommended to take the maximum possible route. We took route C and 20k steps were worth it. Check the weather forecast before planning the visit. But it surely will be beautiful in all the seasons.

Wonderful place for hikes and be in oneness with mother earth. Unbelievably serene and mind-blowing.
Upper lakes are less crowded and quiet while the lower ones are thriving with tourists. Plan your day and start early to enjoy the serenity of the park.
Raghunath N — Google review
I split the trip into two days - one day for the upper and one for the lower lakes. I highly recommend splitting it up. I also did the end of day and early day to avoid the crowds which was perfect. This is truly a magical place with just breathtaking scenery.
H. Rai — Google review
The most beautiful part is the first lake plus the overview of the waterfalls. The rest of the park is nice but for what it is, it's overpriced and overcrowded.
A lot of people are happy with just seeing the waterfalls so they could separate hikers from sightseers to fix some of the overcrowding.
David Oskarsson — Google review
This is one of those place that you must visit in Europe. The colour of lakes is just magical. You can choose 5 trails on different difficulty level and distance. You can go there with kids but I think that it could be dificult with stroller. On trails you can use a boat or buses (on some stages). There are a lot of stops with toilets and even fast food. On the stop next to the boats there is tap with a water that you can pour to bottle. From the cons: huge crowd. The amount of people is crazy there. The price - 40EUR per person - very expensive. Moreover you must pay for parking, too. It is not included in the ticket price to lakes. You must buy ticket in advance, tickets are sold for particular hours.
Agaatje Toffi — Google review
A must go if you're in Croatia. Pick the longest route, it's not a difficult stroll. There is a boat ride in the middle, but it is very smooth and relaxing. Experiencing the layers of this beautiful green-blue park is definitely and experience you won't forget. The longest route could take up to 6 hours, but if you're not taking your time you can easily complete it in 4 hours.
K L — Google review
This place is absolutely breathtaking! You need good shoes if you want to enjoy the longest route (K). I really recommend to start early in the morning because the park is extra full after 11!
You at least need to see this place once because it is ….spectacular!!!!!

The best natural park ever, the water color is absolutely amazing. Very very very nice. we did everything in one day but i wish we had the time to spend two days at least.

Amazing landscape. A few hours drive out of Zagreb and worth the effort. To truly appreciate this national park, you should spend one or 2 nights to complete the longer hikes. Hiking routes are well sign posted. Park entry is €10 per person.
Highly recommended

We bought tickets online and all went perfectly even if it was crowded but still I really like walking and enjoying nature and taking pictures.
Everyone should visit Plitivice at least once in life. It's one of the most beautiful National Parks I have ever seen.
I will visit again.

Loved my visit to this national park with its lakes, waterfalls and woodland hills.
Free parking at this time of the year (early march) for my motorhome. The facilities are great for coffee and food. There is a boat ride or you can walk, I took the boat but walked back. The sun was out so made the scenery extra special. The lakes and various waterfalls are impressive. There are nice pathways and clear signs. Everything was brilliant, highly recommend. I will be back.

A must visit paradise in Croatia and one could easily get lost for half a day to a couple of days depending on the interest. At least half a day in a rush to get a taste of paradise is a must.
There are 2 entrances with a good number of parking places which seemed not crowded during October maybe in season it could be packed. Entrance tickets and parking was way below what I expected for this gem of nature. During the season it is a different price but worth paying. I do not understand why some reviewers complain about the price when it is so much of a treasure.
Overall the park is well maintained with good hiking trails, clean restrooms and good cafes and restaurants.
The park can get crowded but as a sensible tourist one has to plan and not blame the crowds on the park. The boardwalks can be packed with tourists hanging to take pics and not respecting others, just be mindful of this crowd
We parked at the first entrance and did the long trail - K which includes the boat ride and option to take the shuttle back to the parking lot. The trail starts off at the lower lakes with views of the amazing waterfalls before heading through the various trails, boardwalks and then the upper lakes.
If time permits I would recommend adding another trail to enjoy more of the views.
Near entrance 1 there is a really good restaurant for an amazing lunch or dinner. The day we visited it was not crowded and we were able to enjoy a peaceful lunch.
Overall a must visit park for all seasons.
Pradeep Ponnuswamy — Google review
Most beautiful waterfalls I have seen anywhere. Absolutely stunning. We did the full loop over the lower and upper lakes and it was about 12 miles. It took us 5 or so hours total with a stop for lunch.
We did this in March so the crowds were easy to handle. Particularly away from the two different entrances.
Diego Salas — Google review
Magical place. Makes you stop in owe and wonder.
The trick is to visit in low season (we went in April) and arrive early (we took the first boat from entrance 2 @8.30 and were the only people on it!). Then as we walked there was almost no one there and so it felt as if we had the whole park to ourselves.
Marta Walters — Google review
The park is amazing. Well worth the trip even in the off season. We visited in late March and there was hardly anyone here. The park was really beautiful, even though the trees had not leafed out yet. We spent two days in the park and we were glad we had the second day.
Corey Reimer — Google review
Definitively over crowded (also in March) but a must-see when in Croatia! The upper lakes are more beautiful than the lower ones, so pay attention when they are accessible as they are closed in winter. Alltogether something for your bucket list like the Grand Canyon or the Eiffel Tower.

Hvar is a verdant and peaceful island renowned for its captivating coastlines, charming bays, lush vineyards, and dense woodlands. The locale features an array of picturesque beaches that offer stunning views of the sparkling waters. Additionally, Hvar boasts scenic coves that are ideal for relaxing and soaking in the serene ambiance. Visitors can also explore the thriving vineyards and immaculate forests that dot the landscape, showcasing the natural beauty of this magnificent landmass.
Hvar island is one of the most popular islands in the Adriatic Sea in Croatia. 🇭🇷 And that is for a reason!
I loved strolling around Hvar town and feel the history of the place. You’ll find 13th century city walls, a hilltop fortress, gothic palaces, lovely medieval streets and so many restaurants and bars. ☀️
Stari Grad, located at the other side of the island, is less visited than Hvar town, wich makes it even more charming. There are cute narrow streets, churches, viewpoints and incredible wine tastings. 🧡 Thank you Sail Croatia for showing me around these beautiful islands!
Noureddine HASSANI — Google review
Lovely place to visit. Did this as part of a Day tour of Five Islands from Split. We managed to spend 2.5 hours here to explore and enjoy lunch. Head up main Street and climb the 156 steps for excellent views over the rooftops leading out over the harbour filled with boats and yachts.
Steven Brennan — Google review
As possibly the sunniest and most popular of the coastal islands in Croatia, Hvar makes either an ideal day trip from Split or a 2-3 night mini-break if you wish to explore more of the island and enjoy the vibrant nightlife.
Whether exploring the harbour and old town, climbing to the Spanish Fortress for spectacular views, visiting neighbouring islands by sea kayak, venturing inland to discover vineyards and lavender fields or driving to some of the most secluded coves - there is something for everyone here. And don't forget the great restaurants and beach clubs...
During July and August there are regular ferries from Split run by Jadrolinija, Krilo and TP Line. The journey takes about 1 hour. Ferries are less frequent in May and September and outside of these months a day trip is much harder to organise as sailing are only a couple of times a day and weather dependent.

Beautiful place to visit. We were there in May when it wasn't too busy.
Walking around the streets and alleyways just off the port area is very rewarding.
The fort overlooking the town is well worth the taxi ride up (or walk of you're feeling fit!)

Highly reccomend for 3 nights / 4 days. I highly recommend you do NOT waste your money going to Carpe Diem beach club. It's the biggest rip off on the island
Try all the difference beaches and water spots. Rent a car or buggy for a few hours ( only go early morning or evening it's too do )
Rent a speedboat or go for a boat cruise

What a mesmerizing beauty this island has! Clean, pristine waters, blue colored sky up and blue colored water I mean seriously felt like it's all edited but no. You need to visit this to experience it. One of the best Island in Europe.

I love Hvar, the sea, beaches, food, weather and even people are pretty good! To get real authentic meals you kind of have to look past the touristy area. Bol is also beautiful, the water in Hvar and Bol (and pretty much everywhere is gorgeous). Best to rent car and drive up and down the coast. Try out "Sail Week" trips! June-September. Very cool! see lots of different islands! Meets some cool people.

we did a hike up to the fortress and walked back down. We also walked around the town in the direction of the beach where we visited a bar l which was really nice. I reccomend taking loads of water as the hike has loads of steps

Really a nice and beautiful place to go!
Check the ferry options and schedules before deciding: they’re three companies available- prices differs depending on the time.transfer takes around 1 hour.
The city has a mixed of historical places, nice restaurants/bar and beach clubs.
Also some awesome landscapes if you move a little far from downtown and walk to peaceful beaches nearby.
Ca Bal — Google review
Beautiful island with so many interesting places to see. One can book a stay in the resorts here and enjoy the night life.
The view from the fort is breathtaking.
There is an emergency medical facility also available on this island. People here are too generous.
There are vast fields of lavender, ancient olive trees and vineyards, in immaculate harmony between man and nature.
There are wine and olives, so a guest wishing to get closer to nature will stop at a small inn (Hvar "konoba") rather than a top quality restaurant.
He will taste real home-made wine instead of some famous sparkling wine, he will sing the old island songs and forget the monotony of the everyday routine.
Every guest is really a Guest here.
Whatever you are looking for on your vacation, you may find it here; night life and cultural attractions of cosmopolitan Hvar town, boat excursions to Pakleni Islands, sandy beaches near Jelsa, the ancient town Stari Grad in which past centuries mingle with modern tourist facilities,
heavenly beaches under pine trees in Zavala, exotic atmosphere of south cliffs in Ivan Dolac, Sveta Nedjelja or MIlna, the "little Venice" ambient in Vrboska, drive trough and sense lavander fields near Zastrazisce, Gdinj and Bogomolje, peaceful secluded bays near Sucuraj ... this is just a fraction of it ... you need to explore it.
Due to its mild climate, the scent of lavender and other aromatic herbs which fills the air, the island of Hvar has been known as a health resort since 1868.
Besides health benefits and natural beauties, the city of Hvar is famous for its cultural heritage. The biggest main square in Dalmatia (an area of 4500m2), with many renaissance and baroque palaces, dominates the city which is surrounded by fortification walls dating from the 7th century.
Therefore, it is no wonder "The Traveller" has given the island of Hvar not only the flattering but also well deserved title of being one of the most beautiful tourist destinations in the world.

The Royal Palace of Gödöllő is a large baroque palace with period furnishings and historical displays, as well as concerts and events. It is one of the best palaces in Hungary, and its gardens are especially beautiful in autumn.
So so beautiful. Only had one day to be there in Gödöllő but it was more than enough to check out this wonderful castle.
I got a student ticket and a your with two other people. During this your, we got to explore the whole castle, except the places that were getting renovated, at a steady place, allowing us to ask questions, learn cool new facts and take some amazing pictures.
The history of it all is something I absolutely love as Sissi is such an amazing figure and to us Hungarians, she was one of the most amazing queens.
If you're a fan of history or maybe just want to check castles out, it is absolutely worth a visit.

We went on a weekday, it was empty. The collection is not that big due to the palace being ransacked during the war. But it's still worth visiting. It's been well-maintained and we enjoyed a quiet time browsing in each room.

I recommend this one day trip if you are staying in Budapest. The Royal Palace of Sissi is a magical place where you can feel the history and the life of the Princess. I expected the gardens to be something more.....flowers, plants, trees, nothing of the sort, maybe it is better in spring/summer time. A couple of rooms were close to the public, for this reason I had a discount and spent only 12€. Nice video at the end of the tour.

The castle is beautiful, but I just stopped, looked at the park and got a fine for unpaid parking 8 €. I missed any English text about the fact that I have to pay something ... I feel like it's overpriced. I didn't know until the end that pretty much everything was rebuilt/ redesigned. Also, for the price they charge the parking should at least be free.

It's disappointing that the staff at the ticket counter failed to inform us that the relatively expensive temporary exhibit that features a few items and paintings from the famous Schönbrunn Palace is only a mere six small rooms—a ten-minute entertainment top. Weirdly, instead of a security guard, they had a proper uniformed police officer on duty in full gear, sidearm, cuffs, etc., who closely followed us, interacting with our baby girl. It made us slightly uncomfortable—no photos or pushchairs allowed. When I expressed that we were disappointed, they shrugged their shoulders.
Lovely garden, though.

Well... it was restaurated few years ago. Before it was a soviet army base... and looked very sad. I visited it YTD for a concert (it was excellent!). But: the small details are falling parts! Curtains are falling down, the light bulbs in the chandeliers are not working... etc. It could be a fantastic place to visit but it needs much more attention!

Sadly it was ransacked by the Soviet army and most items damaged or stolen. It was interesting to see, but not greatly impressed. It is also undergoing renovation.
The Basilica of Esztergom is a grand neoclassical church built between 1822 and 1856, situated on Castle Hill in Hungary. It is the largest church in Hungary, with an ornate interior, towering central dome that can be seen from afar, and a crypt. Jozsef Hild contributed to the final stages of its design. The original 12th-century church was destroyed by the Turks.
It is simply HUGE. Must visit from Budapest. It’s super close and the view from there it’s very nice. Also cross the border to Slovakia 🇸🇰 it’s recommended. There’s a small art exhibition at the entrance which was, surprisingly, good. All in all a great day trip

If you're looking for a really cool place to visit, you should check out the Basilica of Esztergom. It's a big, beautiful church that's super old and has lots of interesting things to see.
One of the best parts is the really tall tower you can climb to get a great view of the whole city. It's a little bit of a hike, but totally worth it for the awesome views. And don't forget to look up at the ceiling inside the church – there are some really cool paintings and decorations up there.
There are also lots of statues and artwork around the cathedral that are really fun to look at. My favorite was a big, shiny crown that's hanging in one of the rooms. It's super fancy and sparkly, and it was used by lots of important people a long time ago.
Overall, the cathedral of Esztergom is a really neat place to visit. I bet you'll have a great time exploring all the different parts of it. Just make sure to be respectful and quiet while you're inside the church part. Happy exploring!

TBF when I visited, there was a renovation going on so I'm not so sure I'll be able to rate it with %100 clarity. The basilica itself was great and it's so cool to see that nearly every part of the building is still standing. The remnants inside and the treasury were great. I'm not that into body parts being kept for viewers though. Still, it was pleasant. Suggest you visit it. And while you're there, drink a tea in Slovakia.

While the renovation makes it difficult to see the Basilica in its full glory, it is still an amazing sight to visit during a day out in Esztergom! The church interior is amazing and we were still able to appreciate it despite the work and drilling in the background…The basilica also offers a tour of its dome. It is a place full of history and is the biggest church in Hungary.

Must place to visit if you're in Budapest or you visit as a tourist . This is the oldest church and is situated in Esztergom where you can take a local train from Budapest. You can take a peaceful walk before the Church premises and we need a ticket to have a look from top view. We can see the Slovakian bridge from the backside of the monument. Treasure kept inside is worth watching and the relics of kings are kept safe.

Magnificent and holy. Although currently under renovation, which means the central dome cannot be seen in all glory, it is still outstanding and enormous. Blessed are those who have not seen, and believe.
Simran Bourne — Google review
Beautiful basilica, absolutely huge, dominating the skyline. It's best seen from across the river on the Slovak side or directly in front to see its true size. Can walk around the exterior for views of the river and Slovak countryside. Highly recommend.
Paul Heller — Google review
Nice basilica, unfurtunatelly currently under reconstruction. The entry is free, you have to pay for the treasury and/or crypt only. However, the treasury is must see if you like treasures 😀 Parking is free below the basilica on the right.
Petr Weiss — Google review
Even with the construction site it is impressive. To see how they rebuild it is actually a nice extra.
To climb the stairs to the cupola is fun. Start from the Alley of Cats!
Well organized and clean.
It would be even better if there were no cars and parking directly in the front, cars just make the scenery ugly.
Prepare yourself with some history of Esztergom before visiting.

A great day out with family. The weather was perfect for a walk around the top of the dome. 400 steps up inside the Basilica and then a walkway around the outside, not for the faint hearted. I'm glad we went. The views were spectacular. It's worth visiting even if you don't want to go to the top. The treasury and crypt are well worth visiting.

It`s a must to visit if you have the chance. Second largest building in the country and very important one. Unfortunatly it is under renovation which will take up to a few more years so inside is a big of chaos, the statues are removed, a great part of
the pavement is picked up, there are just a few benches for the ones who attend the mass. The 80 m high tower however is worth visiting, there are guided turns every hour, must climb more than 400 steps but the view compensates all.

Very big and impressive cathedral, unfortunately there were restoration work and we couldn't visit the whole area.

Once upon a time it was one of the highest churches in Europe.
Inside there is the second biggest wall painting in Europe.

Visited on Sunday morning. The Basilica, built in 997 is the largest catholic church in Hungary! Walked inside it was free. Amazing view at the top of the hill, overlooking the Danube River and Slovakia. Worth the visit and the view.

The Basica is a monumental icon in Esztergom. We planned a day out but there is no information about the scaffolding i side and outside of the building. Visitors can not enjoy their tour because inside as well reatauration going onwith lots of noise. If some wants to pray this is not the place at the moment.

The Hungarian Parliament Building is an iconic landmark in Budapest and one of the oldest in Europe. It is home to the National Assembly of Hungary, and is one of the largest buildings in the whole of the country. The building is decorated with lavish Gothic Revival-style decorations and features a spectacular dome.
This is a truly beautiful Building, I can only imagine all the important history that this place has had. The grounds are fantastic and provide some breathtaking views. In my opinion the parliament building really comes to life in the night. I would also recommend taking an evening river cruise to see it at its full beauty.

Wonderful architecture in Europe! It is Budapest's most recognizable building. From every angle, it appeared magnificent. Stunning location with trees, gardens, and of course historical landmarks. The architecture is huge and quite detailed. Stunning view of the entire building. Although I was unable to enter, I was able to appreciate it from the outside.

This is one of the largest parliament buildings in the world as the Hungarians saw Westminster and wanted to make their own version but slightly larger and I believe it is actually bigger than Westminster by about 20 feet. I recommend seeing it at night though from a boat ride when it's lit up. It's really beautiful.

This is a very impressive building, outside and inside. I was really looking forward to visiting it. However, only a few sections are open to the public, and that was disappointing considering how big this place is. You are not allowed to take pictures of where the crown is, but the room is astonishing. Guides are very nice and knowledgeable. If you have a European passport, the entrance is about £12. If you don't, I think it's twice as that.

Building is beautiful no matter which angle you see. The best time to visit is in the morning and late evening especially from the boat. You can also visit it from inside but only with the tour which lasts about 45minutes. Tour is organized in different language but needs to booked in advance if for English.

One must book his/her ticket beforehand. It was my case but all tickets were sold out for spontaneous visitors. The visit is very nice but too short (in my opinion). Nonetheless, I was still grateful to have this opportunity to discover this important democratic place in Hungary.
Very famous and you immediately understand why.

Omg. One if the gorgeous buildings that I have ever seen before. This building is so perfect inside and out and during daytime and nighttime. You need to make a reservation to go inside and the normal price for an adult is 6400 ft but its worth it. You should definitely visit this place when you come to Budapest.

Stunning building, especially pretty at night when it lights up. I took a boat tour along the river and would reccomend it to see the sights along the riverside. Didn’t go inside but the outside is a stop that’s totally worth it in Budapest. Seagulls flying on top at night look like beautiful twinkling lights, magical!!

Very beautiful and magnificent structure.
We booked a English guided tour of the Hungarian Parliament Building which lasted for about an hour and half.
The tour was amazing and you get to know some interesting facts about the parliament building and Hungary history. This is really a must to go destination for Budapest.
Here are a few tips to know before you plan your trip for the Hungarian Parliament -
Try to book the tickets online from their official website well in advance (2-3 weeks in advance) since the tickets get sold out very quickly. For e tickets, you need to exchange your e tickets with the physical tickets.
Chances of getting a ticket on the spot from the ticket counter is very difficult. However, if you want to try, reach the ticket counter around 8 am in the morning (it's opening time) and you might get a few tickets for the day.
The ticket counter does not sell advance tickets. They only sell tickets available for that day only. Use online booking as much as possible and plan weeks in advance.
This will be a audio guided tour where in you receive a radio and a headphone. The tour is available in multiple European languages including English.
Please Note - You can buy the tickets with any language available for a time slot, once you enter inside, once you get the audio guided machine, you have the option to select the language of your choice. Thus contradicting the entire idea of slots based on languages.
Last but not the least, the tour is amazing.

It’s one of the must see places for sightseeing in Budapest. You can get great pictures from different perspectives. In my opinion, you should also see it with the amazing lights at night! Moreover, you can get a better view of pictures on the background of Parliament Building on the other side of the river.

Budapest most famous building. Huge and amazing Parliament with a stunning architecture. Unfortunately we were unable to get inside, therefore I recommend buying tickets online well before you decide to visit the Parliament. Worth a visit and definitely you can take some amazing pictures here.

One of the most beautiful buildings I’ve ever seen. It is the third biggest Parliament house in the world and one of the most beautiful parliaments according to me.
Once you go inside there are some guided tours (approximately 45 minutes) that can provide you with useful information about the parliament and history. They are offered in many languages including English, German, Spanish, Italian, etc. It's good value for money at around 10 Euro.
Certainly it looks much better from outside it's massive and very photogenic. The area around it is very well designed & landscaped.
It’s very symmetrical and gigantic. You can not miss the sight from almost anywhere around the Danube from many kilometers. The inside view of this beautiful monstrous building is equally incredible. If you are in Budapest a visit is really a must. The night view from a far distance looks like a royal gigantic palace with a beautiful reflection in the pristine waters of Danube.

A spectacular sight and must see on an any visit. Highly recommended the tour where they take you around the parliament and you are given an audio guide to follow. You get to see the grand staircase and the guarded crown of Hungary. You also visit one of the legislative chambers. This building is one of the most iconic sites in Hungary and, if you're not planning on going inside, I'd highly recommend coming at night (before 11PM). The parliament building is most beautiful when lit up at night. The banks of the Danube at night is beautiful and filled with many romantic couples walking and sitting on benches. I'd highly recommend going for a stroll at night.

This is one of the most visited tourist attractions in the world, and for good reason. We had a guided tour here and were at times astonished with the excellence in workmanship that went into this building. If you love architecture, this is indeed a place to visit. Tickets should be booked well in advance, or you will simply miss out. It is that popular. There is also a tram passing around the building, and we found it easy to travel there. The parliament, furthermore, has a good souvenir shop, but a bit pricey. Do visit it, there are a few unique items to purchase. Should you happen to visit Budapest, this is definitely a must visit.

If you are visiting Budapest you can not miss the guided tour of this impressive building. Be sure to book the ticket in advance on the Lonely Planet guide suggested site, you can save 10€! We spent 17€ instead of 27€ of the official site. The ONE HOUR (with audioguide) tour will lead you throw the most beautiful rooms of the building, you will be impressed by the gold and rich decorations.

Beautiful on the outside and inside. I would highly recommend getting tickets weeks in advance. I tried getting tickets one week in advance and they were sold out but I was fortunate enough to book a tour that included the parliament tour. There are a bit of stairs but if you can’t walk up the several flights you can request to use the elevator. You can take pictures except when you enter the room to see the crown. You do need to retain your ticket for your entire tour as you need it it exit the tour.
The imposing St. Stephen's Basilica, built from 1851 to 1905, offers spectacular views of Budapest from its cupola. The building was damaged during World War II, but fortunately most of the mosaics that decorated its walls were saved. This popular attraction is dedicated to Hungary's holy king and the founder of the Hungarian state St. Stephen.
This is very beautiful basilica in center of town. It is one of the postcard image place of Budapest. There is no charge to see the Basilica, it is free of charge but you should give some donation. Also you can go on the top to have a panoramic view which cost you around 10 euro, there is an elevator. There are lots of good restaurant nearby

St. Stephen's Basilica in Budapest is a magnificent architectural gem that left me in awe. The basilica's imposing dome, reaching a height of 96 meters, dominates the city's skyline and offers a visual treat for visitors. As I stepped inside, the grandeur of the interior took my breath away. The ornate decorations, intricate carvings, and stunning stained glass windows created a serene and majestic atmosphere.
One of the highlights of my visit was the chance to view the basilica's most precious relic, the mummified right hand of St. Stephen himself, the first king of Hungary. This sacred relic is housed in a beautifully adorned reliquary, and its significance adds a spiritual touch to the basilica's historical importance.
Climbing to the top of the dome was an unforgettable experience. The panoramic views of Budapest from the observation deck were simply breathtaking. I marveled at the stunning architecture of the city, with its iconic landmarks and the sweeping Danube River.
Exploring the basilica's interior was a captivating journey. The intricate details of the statues, altars, and frescoes were a testament to the skill and artistry of the craftsmen. I enjoyed wandering through the various chapels, admiring the beautiful artwork and feeling a sense of peace and tranquility.
Overall, my visit to St. Stephen's Basilica was an absolute delight. The impressive dome, the sacred relic, the awe-inspiring views, and the opportunity to explore its magnificent interior made it an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend adding this architectural masterpiece to your itinerary when visiting Budapest.

ST. STEPHEN'S BASILICA
It is named in honor of Stephen, the first King of Hungary (c. 975–1038), whose right hand is preserved in the reliquary. The basilica features a Greek cross ground plan. While we didn't visit the interior of the church, we purchased tickets from the ticket office located across from the right side of the church and ascended to the exterior balcony encircling the church's dome, offering a panoramic view of the surrounding city. The steps to reach there are quite a few, but the experience is truly rewarding, especially as you reach the vast area beneath the external dome, where you can glimpse the interior dome of the church.

Such a stunning building. The ticket office is just off to the side. Expect to queue to buy your ticket. We bought the combined ticket which I recommend so you can get the fantastic views from the top. There are lifts to each part but you will have to climb a few stairs regardless. One of the most interesting things was St Stephen's hand kept in a case.

For sure, it is one of the most impressive buildings in Budapest and Europe. The outside is beautifully lightened during the night, and the details of its facade can be viewed during the daytime. In December, you'll also have the chance to visit one of Europe's most astonishing Christmas markets here. The inside is also a strong recommendation for all tourists. Usually, prices and waiting times are okay if you're not visiting during prime season.

Beautiful by day, beautiful by night. It's well worth paying to see the panoramic view, especially the sunset.
To go up, you have the option of a lift (there are two - with a long queue) and stairs. Be aware that there are a LOT of stairs and spiral staircases. Be prepared 🏋🏻♀️

Got the ticket for inside the church, treasury and terrace dome. The Full ticket is definitely worth it, inside is amazing and the terrace views are second to none on this side of the river. The treasury is less impressive and can be missed imo.. There's 307 steps and Further steps at the top so not suitable if you can't climb the steps

Absolute Empfehlung!

St. Stephen's Basilica, a masterpiece of architecture and spirituality, graces Budapest with its neoclassical beauty. It is as beautiful from the outside as it is from the inside. One of the Budapest must visits. Come early as it's very busy here. I suggest getting the rooftop combo package.
A striking basilica from outside, it's a great photo opportunity. Inside is mind blowing. Such beautiful and reverence. A true blessing to the almighty creator.
There are roped off spots for quiet prayer and reflection. Please take your hat off indoors. A group of Chinese tourists unfortunately showed a lack of respect by refusing to do so.
The treasure room is interesting with luxurious and historical relics from previous bishops.
The rooftop had great views on rainy or sunny days. It's worth the extra effort. You can take the lazy elevator or take the stairs like I did.
Combined ticket is 3500HUF or free for teachers

What an beautiful Basilica! We purchased tickets to hear Ave Maria and the acoustics were excellent. Take the time to wander around inside and see the art and altars. This is a functioning church so act accordingly. The Christmas fair outside is well done and had a lot to offer (much more than Vienna). This is on stop you should not miss.

Indeed, a treat for the eyes. St Istvan’s (Stephen’s) Basilica is one of the best architectures of Budapest. Although we didn’t get a chance to enter inside Basilica, we were delighted by the minute details of the arts engraved on the exterior walls.
I am looking forward to visit the church again so that I can get a chance to enter and enjoy the panoramic view of Budapest from its terrace.

It's not a place to pray for free. The Basilica and its grandeur come with a price: 6,000 HUF. The church hall at a lower fee is worth the money, I think, unless you want to see the surrounding view at the top. The Treasury is composed of very ornate robes, monstrances, and paintings. Going down the spiral steps is not for the faint-hearted or weak knees. 4-man lift is available, but the queue is long. The view at the top of the dome is breathtaking. However, there's no need to pay this extra fee if you've already gone on the Budapest Eye. The church hall is impressive and quite popular with weddings. Its decor is breathtaking, and as with all Basilicas, it gives you that feeling that God actually resides there. If you want to light a candle, make sure you have the right coins as the paying boxes do not provide other methods of payment.

The view from the panoramic terrace is definitely worth the price of admission! You can see the entire city skyline from atop the basilica. I also saw the treasury, which had some very nice art, statues, and various Catholic accoutrements. If you're visiting Budapest, the Basilica is an absolute must-see. This stunning architectural marvel is not just a feast for the eyes but also offers an enriching cultural experience. The highlight for many visitors, including myself, is the organ concert held at 5 PM. It was an amazing experience the building itself was absolutely magnificent and the architecture humbles you. Spectacular church, opulent from every angle. It is certainly worth a visit while in Budapest. The treasury is a little disappointing as it's very small..the view from the tower is impressive. Expect to take some 145 steps. However there is a lift (and toilets mid way up).
Like St Peters in Rome it is a masterclass in craftsmanship, and work that can be enjoyed by any regardless of faith.

The Shoes on the Danube Bank memorial commemorates the 3,500 people who were brutally murdered by Arrow Cross Party members during WWII. The bronze shoes that are scattered about the riverbank just a short distance away from the Hungarian Parliament Building make for a moving sight.
A very historical surreal experience. And it was lovely to walk down the whole Danube promenade where there are plenty of other statues too!
There are not scripts to tell you the story behind the shoes if you don’t already know. So googling the history is advised

Nice location. Interesting story behind the shoes. Detailed metal work when looking at the shoes. This is a nice place to visit if you're local or a tourist. To get there you need to walk right on the edge of the river. We were there after a few days with heavy rain, which made it muddy 🤷🏻♀️ as there is no real pavement. Hope that in time they will build the beautiful promenade.
The memorial itself was heavily decorated with candles, flowers and traditional jewish materials. It is a beautiful memorial, sad, melancholic.

Heartbreaking- you can feel the terror and imagine the brutality. It is unimaginable how cruel and barbaric the Nazis and the eager evil Hungarian Iron Cross were, but this exhibit reminds us. Had my grandfather not left Budapest in 1921, our family would have surely been murdered as well.

It was designed by William Tierney Clark and built by Scottish engineer Adam Clark, and it remains an iconic symbol of bringing people together. The bridge is particularly striking at night when it is illuminated withThousands of lightbulbs.
Yes, this architectural jewel is just as majestic as you have heard. The unique bridge that connects Buda and Pest is a must for photos and walks. The feeling of walking on something like that is amazing. Of course, don't forget to see it at night. It's great!

This bridge has a very good presence connecting between two important pieces of land with its lions guarding its entrance and exit reflecting the power of good art that may take you to another level of amazement.
I enjoyed the place but I think it needs a small area of chairs with sun protection to better spend time at this amazing spot. You can see the parliament building and the fisherman castle from this location.

The "chain bridge" is undergoing reconstruction. What a pity, I would have loved to stroll over it. But there are other bridges over which you can cross the Danube - for example the "Elisabeth bridge". An impressive iconic bridge with stunning architecture.

Not the most spectacular bridge I have seen and in Budapest alone its my top 3. All that said it offers a very beautiful view. Best is to sit close on one of the boat bars/restaurants and look towards the castle at night. It makes for a very memorable evening.

The bridge is now reopened to both pedestrian and vehicular traffic after being closed for renovations. Absolutely worth visiting and having a stroll across this stunning, historic bridge. A must see when in Budapest!

For me this is the most beautiful bridge I have ever seen.
I’ve seen it by day and by night and I can say it was well taken care of it. I think the paint on the metalic parts was recently renewed.
The sculptures on it are nice, the lions that guard it at both ends are also giving a nice vibe. Also, when you go by boat under it is an interesting sensation.
A very nice landmark I could say.

One of the most unique and beautiful bridges I have seen. It is undoubtedly an architectural marvel. This bridge connects buda and pest and is a treat for eyes. The night view is just as beautiful as the day. Great to take photos too.

My experience on Széchenyi Chain Bridge was nothing short of extraordinary. Its timeless beauty combined with its historical importance make it a must-visit attraction in Budapest. Whether you are strolling across it during daylight or admiring its illuminated splendor at night, this bridge will leave you with lasting memories and a deep appreciation for human ingenuity.
First and foremost, the bridge's design is truly breathtaking. The grandeur of its stone lions guarding each end and the intricate iron chains that hold it together are a testament to the skilled craftsmanship of its creators. Walking across this bridge feels like stepping back in time to an era when attention to detail and beauty were paramount

Very nice structure. Really impressive for its age. You can walk, or enjoy through the bus 16, or, can cycle as well. Great views can be seen from the Buda castle area.

One of the iconic bridges in Europe, opened in November 1949. It is a chain suspension bridge and a monument that evokes Hungarian nationalist feeling of the mid-19th century and to Hungary's recovery from the destruction of the Second World War. A landmark, easily recognizable both day and night

Absolutely magnificent! The lions, the views from it, the views it is in it, the walk on it, Great bridge. The only thing that could be better is if there are no vehicles and it's just pedestrian. But even now it's awesome. And the lights at night make it glow and shine in gold.

I’m not going to bore you it’s a bridge in Budapest connecting Buda and Pest, this bridge not only serves as a practical passageway but also offers stunning panoramic views of the Danube River and the cityscape. You can see both sides of the city and can take deadly photos, luck of the Irish ☘️ it didn’t rain 😍 we got good weather Which was a bonus. Definitely feel like chills in the air after 4pm for sure.

The Famous Szénchyi Chain Bridge does all its talking. They built a humongous bridge holding onto chains, it's a top sight to watch in the day as well as night.
Major tourist attraction place where you'll find people walking & clicking themselves at loads of places, different bridge angles looking for spectacular views.

Must have walked over the chain bridge 20 times our visit to Budapest. Great views over the Danube. Can be really busy but a great spot for Photos
The Fisherman's Bastion is a beautiful fortress with lookout towers that offers panoramic views of the city. It was built in Roman style in 1895 and was damaged during World War II, but has since been restored.
This place was stunning! If you are a fan of architecture or Harry Potter this was something magical! If visiting in the winter like we did i would suggest you wear proper shoes as we wore trainers and was icy on some parts! Also it is very worth waking up early to visit this place with less tourists about.

It's like a dream😴💭. Amazing beauty. The best place after Hungarian Parliament is the Fisherman's Bastion. Free. No charges. You can have a great view of Danube & Budapest. Great place to click photos not only of views but also of yours. Loved. Nearby good eating joints. Spend at least half day here.

This is a really pretty place to visit, it does feel a little like a fairytale as there's quite a number of spires. You can visit the church as well as the bastion itself. There are some great views of the city from here and is quite a romantic setting (if it's quiet). Nonetheless, its picturesque views offer great photo opportunities and is not one to miss if you like that.

A very nice place to visit for free. You can take very nice pictures there. There are some shops and coffee places, but they are always full. The best part is Matthias Church with its beautiful roof (this can be accessed by payment only). There are plenty of places to sit, and there are some toilets but you need to pay for them.

The architecture of this landmark is truly stunning. It takes you back to the monarchic times. It provides probably one of the best views of the city. If you want to avoid the crowd, go there early (before 10 AM), otherwise, you might need to wait for a good photo spot. But the best lights are around sunset (and obviously the place is packed at that time)

My new favourite place in Budapest. We visited 3 times on a 4 day trip! Not only is the architecture beautiful, but you get incredible views of the city. Absolutely breathtaking and worth the visit!
Tip: Visit early morning or evening to avoid the crowds.
Tip #2: You need to buy a ticket to go up to the top sections in the day, but in the evening, they're free!

Definitely the most Instagrammable spot in Budapest, it's always a nice place for a picture. But be warned, it's full of people trying to have their picture taken. Better to go early in morning or late at night. Free to visit of course. Souvenir shop and coffee place on site. Highly recommend.

Absolutely stunning location, the highlight of our visit to Budapest. Most of the site is free, but for a small fee you can walk along the ramparts and take pictures away from the bulk of the crowds, which I would definitely recommend. The view is also lovely but the architecture is truly spectacular and it was hard to tear myself away from it!

Beautiful architecture and high vantage points for some of the best panoramic views of Budapest and the Danube river. Entry is free but fairly crowded depending on when you go - best views would be during sunrise (with the fewest tourists) or sunset.
The Fisherman’s Bastion is one of the must-see sights when in Budapest so I would highly recommend it.

Beautiful place in Budapest.
Fisherman's Bastion is located at height. You can go by stairs. Or take the funicular from the starting point.
After a bit of trek you will arrive at beautiful landmark. From where you can have completed view of the city overlooking Danube river.
Architecture is at its best at this place.
Must visit if you love to see old buildings and get connected with ancient times.
Strongly recommend 👍👌

Such a beautiful place with a lovely lookout over this city and clearly the best picture spot in town as there were so many people there taking photos. But the whole place reminded me of Hogwarts. I just loved being there. Get a coffee or a chimney cake and just enjoy it.

This place is really lovely, the architecture is great. It has a great view of the pest side. Lots of people during the day but if you go there earlier, it’s really a different vibe and feel. You can appreciate the place more.
There’s also a fee if you want to reach the highest wall in Fisherman’s Bastion. Tickets can be bought online or on site.

If you can visit in the late afternoon and stay until the early evening, you can get a nice view from here at sunset. I opted to walk up from the Chain Bridge because the weather was nice and I wanted to see all of the autumn colors as I hiked up to Castle Hill.

The castle and fisherman’s bastion is right beside one another - It’s a visitors main attraction spot, but I most say extremely hassle free. I’ve travelled a lot, and most tourist attractions have creepy men trying to sell you items, or stick tacky bracelets on your arm then ask for money. Here none of that happens at all. You can walk around freely which is nice. Which should be the Norm to do anyways - but I found it good. Not too overwhelming (again this might depend on the time you go). February not that busy, and in the evenings very quiet. My apartment was close by, the views are spectacular. The downside you’ll see just LOADS AND LOADS of phones all over the place, in your face, in your space 😂 when are we ever gonna live in the moment 🤷♀️ you can see Budapest city from here. Look it’s definitely nice to see, to get into this little castle you’ve to pay a fee but you’re basically paying to see all these “travel bloggers and insta” people taken up the entire balconies 🫡

Very pretty. Shops locally and very expensive chimney pastry stalls €10 for one 😳). Can use scooters up here but check parking as we had to walk all the way back down to find parking or lose minutes. Restaurants up top. Areas to visit have to pay for them all about €3. Great views of the city.

Beautiful architecture, it is honestly impressive even more so during a sunny day! Reaching the bastion is quite easy by foot. However, as it stands on a hill, it can be quite steep at times (there are a lot of stairs, too!). It does have good bus connections (bus no.16 takes you straight to the main square).
I would recommend going to the bastion not only for the amazing view of Budapest but also for the tour of the underground caves as it's really interesting!

We visited during the day, dusk, and night, and each time was amazing.
There’s something truly special about this place; it feels very magical. The views are stunning too.
My favorite time was 7 pm, just as the sun was setting (in April), as there weren’t many people around, and it was beautiful. It’s lovely during the day as well, but it can get crowded, so if you prefer fewer people, evening and nighttime are better.
It’s really worth seeing at different times of the day as it makes Budapest look even prettier.

This is very popular place in city and one can get a good panoramic view of pest side. This place has a small park, where you can just sit and relax.
Opt to come bit early in time while the day starts (before 9AM) to beat the crowd and get good photograph for memories.
The Siofok Water Tower, located in the city center, is a historic structure that provides unrestricted views of both the town and countryside. Upon purchasing a ticket at the entrance, visitors can ascend to the top via one of several lifts and enjoy coffee and cake at the cafe before proceeding up some additional steps to take in panoramic views from atop this unique rotating tower. Overall, it's an intriguing building that offers more than expected for those seeking breathtaking vistas.
We got free tickets, because I am a wheelchair user and my brother, because he was my escort. Very nice and helpful staff.
We were able to see only the first floor, but it was interesting.
Its a shame the descriptions of the people there were just in Hungarian.
Otherwise a great sight to see :)

Really nice plaza!
A tourist information office is directly below the tower. Tower was renovated this year to celebrate the 100 years. Came on the 2nd weekend of October and coincidentally there was a festival/fair with lots of food stands and live music. Close to the shopping mall and some nice restaurants around it. You can walk around the park that is in front.

The tower is an interesting building and I dare to say it offers more than I had expected. You must buy a ticket at the entrance, then take one of the lifts that bring you up and just enjoy your coffee and cake in the cafe at the top. There you can climb some more steps and enjoy the view and still have your treat of coffee there. The top of the tower is turning around slowly. Really amazing!

One star is only for the beautiful sunset over Siófok that we managed to see during our visit. Totally overpriced and the staff that works there turned out to be absolutely unfriendly and unpleasant: we had some misunderstanding because she didn't speak English well. Weird thing considering that it is a tourist attraction that is visited not only by Hungarian-speaking people

Very central lookout point to see Siófok and the lake from a distance. It costs some to get in, but there's a little cafe and a spinning seated, windowed area at the top to relax and enjoy the view. One stair level down from the cafe is a terrace with open air view and walking space to see everything without windows.

Winding, 300m underground limestone cave system navigable by boat along a subterranean lake.
Great place! I never think that we can boat in a cave. Although this park closed at 4 pm, the ticket office closed at 2:30 pm roughly. The closing time depends on the crowd of visitors. When you arrived, the first thing is to buy the ticket, and arrange your following thing according to the entry time.

Great little cave with a lake inside. The tour and the cave is a little basic but the underground lake makes up for it. You can drink from the lake as it is the cleanest water in the country (even cleaner than tap water) and it taste great and very refreshing. You can also ride a boat on your own and its a great fun going trough tight places.

I loved this place Thanks god it wasn't a big queue so it didn't take long to catch a boat. The cave and the water is amazing, clear and warm as well. In some corners you have to bend down because the place is so narrow. The price is not high either.

This is one of the most interesting places we visited. The children were delighted. The boat ride takes 10-15 minutes. Would give five stars for the unique beauty that this natural wonder offers, but the experience was so short, that we could hardly enjoy it. Usually people spend 1h 30min (according to the lady at ticket office), for us it took approx 30 min. The exhibition was more or less interesting too, but ofcourse we were expecting to spend more time in the cave, sailing on the boat. It was a little bit of disappointment, when in less than 10 min we finished our lake ride. No one told us to sail a little bit slower, although due to the narrow corridors you can't sail fast at all, still we were too fast and finished early. So for those of you who are planning to visit, I can assure you that it is truly amazing and you should definitely go, BUT take your time, enjoy the exhibition, once you get in the boat sail slow, very slow, as there is nothing special waiting for you at the end of the road. You will be sailing only for approx 180 metres, so do it slowly and enjoy 😁
Zs?ka D — Google review
Definitely worth a visit! Before going down into the caves, you will have a guided tour through a little museum, which is very quaint. Unfortunately, English speakers were not catered for, so I had to translate for my partner.
That is the least important part of the tour for me - the highlight is of course getting to go down into the cave. We loved our ride, it’s very interactive but not without risk. Be careful down there, especially with other people bumping into you. We got stuck behind a really slow old man which was a bit annoying, but we could have queued for another go.
In the summer there were a number of little shops outside, including fresh traditional lángos, so you don’t have to worry about planning ahead for food!
Parking is a bit complicated if you don’t have coins. Took me about 15 minutes to register for the parking system (app or text) and all the instructions are in Hungarian. I suggest downloading and setting up the app beforehand as it will work across Hungary for parking. There are a tonne of apps to be found online, which can be confusing.
Make sure you buy tickets in advance online as they sell out!

This is the most underrated hidden gem of Hungary. I don't know how I found out on the internet but once i did i knew i had to go there
It was AMAZING. 75 steps, underground cave, a boat ride where you self navigate for 200m - do it slowly, avoid overhead, be mesmerized by the blue-green crystal clear mineral waters.
The info section was ALSO great - in English and Hungarian and it even had a make believe cave you could crawl thru. I think it was was kids - as a 52 year old slightly fat kid, i only managed a meter before deciding not to :-)
It was not busy at all but i was told that it gets super busy june-sep
For parking, take some forint coins for the parking meter - i fed in 300 forint ...
Don't miss this one

Very nice and basic place. Most of them don’t speak English. Had to wait almost 2 hours to enter but the tour guide speaks only Hungarian ! So we asked to pass the tour and go directly to the boat where we were rowing by ourselves and that was great experience in a cave with clear water and it was fun, easy and so enjoyable. The only thing is that was no need for all that waiting time 🥲. Still recommending everyone to visit. ❤️

WOW what an amazing experience. If you are travelling in Hungary then do not miss out on this activity. Staff are very friendly, helpful and informative. At first i couldn’t believe there was a natural cave surrounding the city but what a fun experience!
I went with my two friends and we had such a blast. When you first go in you can read a little bit about the history of the place, which is nice, but the best part was actually going down to the cave and paddling the boat around in the clear blue water. Definitely recommend this place!
Be careful not to hit your head on the rocks though!

It's good but I expected better. Let me explain the three stars. You have to book in advance the tour, the thing is when booking there are no tours available in English and you need to send them an email to have a tour for a group of just English speaker so quite complicated in the process. When you are with the tour guide at least you can go on you own and basically completely ignore the guide (they speak Hungarian) and just go look at the exhibition (it's written in English) or use audio-guide you only have to be with the group if you want to see the 10min film (in Hungarian no subtitles) and then you can go down to the attraction where you will ride a boat inside the cave for 10min. Unfortunately for this part we had to wait at least 30min to get onto the boat and they were other tourist being pressy behind our boat (not the organisation fault just the other tourists wanting to finish fast for certain reasons).
So overall the exhibition is OK not bad but not extraordinary also and the boat ride is nice but would be much nicer if it was longer and less "crowded" and not feel in a "traffic jam". Also in the website the 700meters of walking inside the cave is just basically the waiting area before the boat ride don't be fooled.
Good experience, too high expectations.

Great natural cave to explore by foot and by boat on a short trip at the end. Exhibition was informative about the history of the cave and the geologic history as well. It's a really beautiful place to visit, but you need to keep a few things in mind.
Bathing in the water is not allowed, the boat trip is only one trip per person and takes a maximum of 10 minutes, if you are claustrophobic it is not a good place for you as some places can be quite small, I guided myself through the place because there was no guide in English, there are some descriptions and information in English and it is possible to download audios but if you do not have your own Internet you will not have access.
Large lake featuring warm waters for alleged health benefits & an indoor/outdoor spa with services.
This is a lovely thermal lake which also is huge. Everyone gets an armband that also gives you a personal locker for your belongings. Note that you can not pick any locker you have to blip the armband at the screen when entering the locker room and then you are assigned a locker.
I recommend going around the lake to the "relax" section where there are a lot fewer people and a much more calm setting. The lake is quite warm so do not expect to get cooled down on a warm summer day.

I have 2 rates for Lake Héviz.
The lake itself is really nice 4,2
The staff 1 star (if you are foreigner)
The communication was complicated with the staff since they don’t speak English, and that’s understandable even tho it is a very touristic place and the signs inside are all in English.
However when they tried to buy other tickets they spoke in Hungarian and realized we didn’t speak at all, one person started to yell at us and was obvious she was complaining while her colleague was laughing loud, she called one person to speak to us while they kept having this XENOPHOBIC behavior for some minutes.
Its a paradox you go to a place to relax and the staff are rude and disrespectful.
We forgot after some minutes the situation and we were able to relax and enjoy the place

Honestly I thought this was going to be gross and super packed with people. But it was very relaxing and therapeutic. The Lake is gigantic and there enough space to spread out in the water. There are different depths and parts to the spa as well. There is a super deep part and then there are sulfur baths. Spent most of my time in the outside lake part and on the sun chairs. You pay and get a wrist band that tracks you. Different pricing for how long you want to stay.

Beautiful natural warmwaterlake to spend quality time and relax in the thermal lake or laying at a free deck chair. Dayticket costs 6000K (20€), there are also tickets for 3h (3500K) and 4h (4300K). You can eat inside the park or leave to eat outside and return.

A very well kept secret for rheumatology illnesses, muscle and nerve issues, injuries or just soul and relaxing searching purposes. A little heaven. I stayed in Heviz in a little private Pension, for a week. Yes, things might be not hypermodern and a bit out of date...BUT...it is therefore that things are still very much affordable for everyone ( not only well off people) and it serves every inch the purpose. There is an Medical centre and treatment centre at the slake...and everyone is friendly, professional and happy to help. Most people speak German, English and they are very professional . I had massages . I will definitely return.

Our host at our Airbnb, Veronica, kindly gave us two tickets for cheaper entry to the baths. There are loungers everywhere but finding a free one is a bit of a challenge. The water is very warm, about 32—35°C in summer. My daughter swam 2km, I just stayed at the edge; nearly everyone has a float in the water. The cafe was winding down so our chips were nearly cold which was very disappointing. Cafe closed at 6pm; we were there at 5pm so why cold food an hour before closing?
The Jesuit Church of St. Catherine is an impressive medieval-style Catholic church constructed in the 13th century. The interior of the church is decorated with beautiful examples of Baroque art, as well as stucco reliefs by Italian artist Antonio Quadrio from the 1720s. The church also has a beautiful ceiling in the nave with many medallions depicting scenes from the life of Saint Catherine.
Such a gorgeous facade. The colourful tiles on the roof are unique and eye catching. Unfortunately the whole area is cordoned off as of April 2022 yet still a sight to behold.

This is a must see. The design is amazing and is the only one of its kind. The colors from the facade are mesmerizing. Even though this cathedral is not very big, it’s greatness is unmeasurable.

Unfortunately it was closed when we visited Zagreb in April 2024 for visits. Just saw it from outside and took photo. But o have a feeling that it should be nicer outside than inside. So it felt okey!

This is a must see if your in Zagreb. The roof and the colours are so unique and beautiful. I have never seen any building like this before.
Unfortunately you were not able to go inside and the area was fenced off. Even though we couldn’t visit the church itself I was still very happy about seeing it from the outside.
The 13th-century St Mark’s Church is one of Zagreb’s most emblematic buildings.
Its colourful tiled roof, constructed in 1880, has the medieval coat of arms of Croatia, Dalmatia and Slavonia on the left side, and the emblem of Zagreb on the right.
The Gothic portal, composed of 15 figures in shallow niches, was sculpted in the 14th century.
The interior contains sculptures by Ivan Meštrović, though the church is open only at Mass times.

Despite its size, no one can deny how iconic the church is. This church in the old town Zagreb shows its signature checker patterns on its roof tiles along with the crests.
It’s such as shame that the church is not open for public visiting. It would be very interesting to see the interiors of the church

A smallish and fairly simple gothic church with a baroque tower. The church is known mostly for it's colorful tiled roof that sports two coats-of-arms. It's located between government buildings and was entirely closed off in the July of 2021. An ornate side gate decorated with a number of statues is the highlight of the entire structure. The church is not a cathedral, but one of the oldest churches in the city
Robert Chomicz — Google review
Very pretty church from the outside. Unfortunately, it seems like you can't get close to it nor inside right now. Someone else mentioned that's because of security measures since most of the government buildings are close by. It's a shame since it looks like it would be pretty cool inside.

It is a very beautiful church that I have ever seen. The roof is cute and beautiful. The location is very close to the Stone Gate and the middle of the city. However, that's a pity that you cannot approach to the church. It would be very interesting to see the inside though.

This is a superb building with the most striking of designs. Highly recognisable, near the Stone Gate and in the old town it is well worth a look for a few hours. This is a beautiful town and this building was one of the most memorable parts of Croatia.

One of Zagreb's most iconic architectural and cultural places, the Saint Mark Church is located at Saint Mark Square, part of the former Gradec, today the Upper Town Zagreb.
The tiled roof presents two historic emblems. One is of the former Kingdom of Croatia, Dalmatia, and Slavonia. The second represents Zagreb, the city of wide-open gates, always open to visitors and new citizens.
For many people, Saint Mark's Church has also a special emotional value, especially if they entered the marriage in this particular church.

Symbol of the city. Everyone must to see. Unfortunately very often it's closed and entrance is not possible, so I cannot describe interior. It's very close to other attractions, so even if it's closed, it's worth taking a walk around the church.

Review of the Church of St. Mark in Zagreb
Location: Zagreb, Croatia
The Church of St. Mark in Zagreb is a breathtaking architectural gem, renowned for its cultural and historical significance. This church, situated in the heart of Zagreb’s Upper Town, is a testament to the city’s rich past and vibrant present.
Architectural and Historical Significance
Built in the 14th century as a parish church, St. Mark’s Church has undergone numerous transformations and restorations throughout its history. It’s most famous for its colorful tiled roof, featuring the coats of arms of Zagreb, Croatia, Dalmatia, and Slavonia. This roof is not only a symbol of the church but of Zagreb itself.
The southern portal of the church, a relic from the transition from the 14th to the 15th century, is an exquisite example of Gothic architecture. The church has endured various historical events, including earthquakes and fires, with significant restorations in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Recent Renovation
Recently, the Church of St. Mark underwent a comprehensive renovation, which lasted more than three years and cost over six million euros. This renovation was crucial, particularly after the significant damage caused by the Zagreb earthquake in 2020. The church’s interior, including its vaulted ceiling and frescoes, was meticulously restored, preserving its historical essence while ensuring its structural integrity .
Accessibility and Current Status
Unfortunately, due to security measures following a terrorist attack near the government buildings in 2021, access to the church has been restricted. These measures, while necessary for safety, have temporarily limited public access to this magnificent church. The Croatian government is working on solutions to allow visitors and worshippers to enter the church safely while maintaining the required security for nearby government buildings .
Incorporating into a Zagreb Itinerary
When visiting Zagreb, a stroll around the Upper Town is a must, and the Church of St. Mark, despite the current access limitations, remains a key landmark. You can admire the church’s exterior and its iconic roof from the St. Mark’s Square. The square itself is a hub of political and cultural activity, flanked by the Croatian Parliament and other historical buildings.
Overall Impression
The Church of St. Mark is more than just a place of worship; it’s a symbol of Zagreb’s historical resilience and artistic richness. Its recent restoration underscores the city’s commitment to preserving its cultural heritage. While access to the interior may be limited, the church’s exterior alone is a sight to behold and a reminder of Zagreb’s enduring spirit.⬤

We couldn't explore it well as it was undergoing renovation and was fenced off. It definitely has an impressive exterior and a very beautiful mosaic on the roof - it's worth seeing.

Beautiful church in the city of Zagreb. Uniquely decorated roof.
Eric Lee — Google review
St. Mark's Church, situated in the Upper Town of Zagreb, Croatia, is a remarkable example of Gothic architecture. Its distinctive roof features the colorful coats of arms of Zagreb and Croatia. This iconic landmark is not only a testament to the city's rich history but also serves as a place of worship and a symbol of civic pride for the people of Zagreb.

One of the best known rooftops in Zagreb. It's worth visiting. I didn't have a chance to visit inside.
The Kulmer Palace Museum is dedicated to personal objects from former lovers, with accompanying short synopses of their relationships. It is a quirky and interesting museum that is well worth a visit for its unique collection.
I think this museum is quite unique in terms of theme. Each and every item in the museum has a story which will amuse and make you sad both at same time. Some stories are very touching and quite a collection of from everywhere in the world. I believe it's must visit in Zagreb, you can't hear stories of people everywhere.
Sonika Prakash — Google review
Do not hesitate to go to this museum if you like to read, like English and/or if you are into love stories. It’s a museum in which there are objects people have given them accompanied with the story of it. Some of them are truly emotional to read, and you will relate somehow with at least some of the stories (there are some about family, not only couples). Even though they say you take from 45min to 1h, I was so involved with the stories, I just lost track of time and spent 2h there, reading and understanding. There’s a book you can write there, it’s a great moment to let go, and there’s also a bar. Great experience, it was my first stop in Zagreb and I definitely say you shouldn’t skip it if you like reading!
Brunna Cocchi — Google review
What a cool concept. So simple, but so wonderful and very well implemented into a museum.
The ticket is 7€ and you'll spend between 45 minutes and 1 hour.
Stories about relationships that ended, whether they were from lovers, family or friends.
Some are funny, some are witty, some are meh, and some are heartbreaking.
Awesome museum, one of those that you'll remember.

*Baby stroller friendly location*. First I wasn’t sure to go or not. It was pouring rain in Zagreb and at first it was just a place to hide in to skip the rain. But ot turned out to be a must visit musuem. Lots of fun/touching/interesting past relationship stories. Would definitely recommend it. The girls in the reception are very polite and the cafe has good coffee.

This is a roving exhibit that goes around the world. The idea here is to exhibit items that signify love lost and tell their story. And these stories come from around the world.
Some of the stories are quite quirky while others are down right sad to read.
Wilson Foo — Google review
Emotional and tragic museum with a variety of stories. The exhibition is well made and with a lot of detail, but the place is really small so it can get crowded easily. Also the cafè next to it is cut, nonetheless the worker could be more friendly.
Robin — Google review
Not a typical museum. The personal stories were interesting, funny, touching, sad, weird, and gross at different points. I enjoyed my visit more than I expected. Cool souvenirs, too. I disagree with previous comments claiming that it's small. I read every story and felt like if there were more, it would've been too much
Natalia — Google review
Absolutely fantastic! From being on the verge of tears, laughing and being absolutely shocked. If you wander through the entire museum (which I recommend) it’ll take you about an hour. Cost is 50kn. Each sign is in English and Croatian but a visitor book is provided if you do not speak these languages. Toilets and a cafe inside the museum. Great gift shop, including a book which has more objects not in the museum.
Definitely recommend for anyone in Zagreb.
Tamika Green — Google review
A very surprising museum. First of all, relatively cheap, with prices being €7 for adults and just €5,50 for students. I spent a solid 1+ hour inside and instead of my expectations of the museum just being about toxic or broken romantic relationships, the museum actually sheds light on very interesting other themes in an interesting way. The exhibition consists of personal stories that revolve around anything from romance, parental love, family dilemmas/losses to dramatic losses as a result of war. All in all a very interesting and 'enjoyfull' experience and an assured recommendation for anyone looking for an interesting/alternative museum in Zagreb :)

The Museum of Broken Relationships in Zagreb, Croatia, is a profoundly moving and innovative cultural institution. It showcases a poignant collection of personal objects donated by individuals from across the globe, each accompanied by heartfelt narratives detailing the stories of love and loss. This museum creates a powerful space for reflection on the complexities of human relationships and the universal experiences of heartbreak and healing.

A really unique museum experience. Not much to do apart from stand and read which is difficult when the museum is crowded but I’d still recommend visiting. It’s in a very cute part of the town and the workers are very nice.

Pretty different museum. We loved it!
Went there on a weekday around 7:30pm. It had maybe 10 other people there with us. There are some pretty cool stories and artifacts from all over the world which made the whole experience worth it for us.
I think it's a pretty cool concept that can be replicated all over the world. I like that they do traveling expositions as well.
Diego Salas — Google review
Wow. What a cool concept for a museum! There are moments of heartbreak, laughter and reflection and I’m sure we can all relate to something there. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the collections but reading the stories behind them, from all over the world, really made me feel connected. And for only €7, why would you not go?
Amanda Moss — Google review
Some make you angry. Some make you laugh out loud. Some are deeply moving.
A surprisingly heartfelt and genuinely interesting museum that I didn’t expect to love as much as I did. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone, and will be going again if I am ever in Zagreb. Fantastic!

The exhibition at the Museum of Broken Relationships in Zagreb is fascinating. It thoughtfully displays objects symbolising the conclusion of various relationships, whether between an individual, friends, family, or even a person and an object. As you explore the exhibit, you come across diverse items, each accompanied by a story that unveils the depth and meaning behind it. The museum provides a distinct perspective on human connections, capturing the intricacies of relationships, beautifully curated and emotionally resonant, offering a unique insight into the complexity of relationships.

Firstly, the museum's name is incredibly appealing. I was captivated by this exhibit to the extent that I immersed myself in nearly all the narratives. I wholeheartedly endorse this museum.
However, my museum experience was somewhat disrupted by noisy fellow visitors. It would greatly enhance the ambiance if a "Please Maintain Silence" sign were placed, considering that the primary attraction here is the written word.
Karishma — Google review
A very different experience, one of happy and sad all mixed. The stories…some are devastating, some are the harsh truth, some are just lovely memories or memoirs. We all really enjoyed it, teens included.
Heather B — Google review
The museum is cool, all fancy inside with brochures in many languages. The stuff on display has stories in Croatian and English. They sell lots of things too. I thought it'd be funny stories about relationships, but only a few were like that. Most were about war, losing family, and sad tales. It made me really sad reading all that stuff.

In the 1990s conflict, however, most of the historic town and the Old Bridge, designed by the renowned architect Sinan, was destroyed. The Old Bridge was recently rebuilt and many of the edifices in the Old Town have been restored or rebuilt with the contribution of an international scientific committee established by UNESCO. Kravica Waterfall National Reserve is a popular attraction with stunning waterfalls and nearby amenities. There is an entrance fee, but it's worth the cost to spend time sunbathing, enjoying a picnic or sitting in a cafe. The area has rocky coastlines and swift water currents, so special shoes are recommended for swimming. Visitors can take great walks and capture picturesque photos of the breathtaking scenery.
Paid entrance.
But the park is worth the money.
It is better to spend more time here, sunbathe, sit in a cafe or have a picnic. But be careful, the water speed is high and the coast is rocky, take special shoes with you if you plan to swim.
Great place for walking and picturesque photos.

We visited these waterfalls now in July 2022. I can say that the place is more beautiful than in photos. The entrance can be payed by credit card. When arriving near the waterfalls we payed for the boat trip (60 euros for 4 persons). It is worth the money. It is 50 minutes and you can enjoy the landscape, the birds, the fishes and the specific plants that grow there. I recommend to everyone this place.

The place is amazing. It is fantastic to be allowed to take a bath there, and there are many routes and paths. There is also a turistic train, you can rent sunbeds and towels, there are restaurants and bars, so the place is completely for tourists, beautiful, but crowded even in September as the temperature is about 34 degrees.

Beautiful waterfalls but not worth the extortionate price of €10. I don't see why the cost is this much. It's a natural feature. Tourist trap, perhaps?
We stopped off here on our tour and only had an hour. The water was cold, and if I had more time, I probably would have gone in for a dip. 1 hour wasn't long enough for more than a toe touch.
The falls are beautiful. It's surrounded by trees. It's more of a nature walk than somewhere you can sit and picnic. Again, I don't see how they justify the entrance fees.
There is currently building works in progress on the lower level, someone giving rides in a small boats, toilets at the top, and a small cafe that doesn't even sell 6 They only accept Convertible Mark (km) in Mostar. Conversion 2km = €1 yet here they only accepted Euros.

Boasting a stunning view that attracts crowds, this location is perfect for family visits. A mere 5-10 minute downhill walk will lead you there, and the path is quite accessible for both elders and young children. Despite temperatures reaching up to 33 degrees, the water remains delightfully crisp. For those seeking a refreshing dip, it's absolutely perfect!
Boat rentals are conveniently available, providing an exciting opportunity to get up close with the waterfalls. A selection of bars ensures you can quench your thirst, while comfortably lounging on beach chairs. Moreover, restrooms are available, adding to the overall convenience.

A place worth visiting if in the area. The tickets were 10.30 euro per person, we have payed by a card. The toilets are located just after the tickets office. Parking is spacious and free.
You can admire the beautiful waterfalls while laying down on the bathing beach, so it's worth staying there for a few hours. There are a few places to eat, but you can only pay with cash so be prepared. Word of advice, if you're tempted to buy alcohol from the guy mid way to the waterfalls - don't. The same products are at least 5 e cheaper by the parking.

Wow has this place improved and got a life in the past 10 years. We were there when they only had 1 little hut thing to get drinks and you could still just off the cliffs near the falls. More restaurants now, but the cliffs and close to them has been closed off, so no longer possible. Amazing clean and fresh water!

Stunning waterfalls a short walk (down approx 100-200 steps) from the car park. It's filled with tourists, but this didn't diminish the experience. There are bars all around the edge of the waterfall plunge pool but they are relatively well priced. A very enjoyable freshwater swim will take you right up close to the bottom of the falls. On the far side from you where you come in there is a sandy shallow area where you can paddle. Well worth a visit. 10 eur entry pp, parking free.

Krka National Park is a nature reserve with walking trails, riverboat trips, monastic and castle ruins, and stunning waterfalls that define the landscape of the area. The waterfalls in Krka River are a karstic phenomenon created by river water carving out a canyon through limestone hills over millennia. Besides this remarkable natural sight, there are also several artificial sights within the park that are worth exploring. The park offers boat rides to visitors and has food and drink options available as well.
Totally worth the excursion. The waterfalls are an easy hike as well as all the other parts. Note that there are some stairs but all or most of the trail is paved. They have a museum of how people lived in this area hundreds of years ago. Amazing breathtaking views. Bring water and your camera. Please respect the no swimming rules as the area is trying to conserve its natural beauty.

Krka is a small national park with beautiful waterfalls. It is much smaller than I expected but it was definitely worth visiting. I was a little upset they don't let you swim under the falls anymore.

This place is peaceful and beautiful. The waterfalls are impressive. We paid to catch the bus up and down the hill instead of a 20 min walk each way.
Purchase your boat tickets in advance as when we arrived; it was sold out.

Stunning!! No matter how many visits, it has always something new to see. Always seem different from the previous time. Love it!! It's absolutely stunning. Definitely must visit!!

My visit to Krka Waterfalls park was with a group, the guide was knowledgeable and the place offered a nice refreshing outdoor experience. Furthermore, the place has bathrooms, benches and other viewpoints that made the experience worth it.
If you can’t walk much, the entrance viewpoint is great, the hike offers a nice view of the place.

A beautiful National Park. We were lucky it wasn't so busy and could enjoy the board walk almost by ourselfs (we arrived in the afternoon). You can take a boat in the National Park and there's possibilities to by something to eat and drink in the park.

Amazing place... Definitely worth the visit. Fantastic views. Many waterfalls. You can also see many plants and in some cases some weird fishes! A child friendly place with big place to have a rest, have lunch or drink something. Toilets are available in the area as well.

Such a beautiful place to visit! We had all day in this park. The weather was not too hot so we were happy. You should bring comfortable shoes and clothes for this trip. Also a bag with water and some food. But if you want to buy, you can do it, because there is coffees and shops. Also it is good to have walking sticks if you use them, but without them it is also comfortable. Water view is just amazing and so calming.
There is toilets but the are not free. And the food and coffee prices is normal so don’t worry about that. We only found one place were we can swimm a bit in cooling water.
We saw a lot of fish, 4 small snakes in the water and on the roads:)

Absolutely stunning, however you cannot swim anymore :(
The guide we had was so lovely but it felt like the tour wasn't planned as well as it could be as we had to walk an extra 30 mins to get to the bus and there were people with reduce mobility with us. However the park itself is absolutely breathtaking :)

Nice 2km walk -starting at Lozovac- through a beautiful scenery that certainly is worth visiting. During summer time it is busy so don’t expect too many ‘private pictures’. We paid EUR 40 for an adult and EUR 15 for a child. Facilities are present in the park to enjoy some food or beverages (or a toilet 😉).

Great walk and slight hike on clean, wooden trails. Great views of smaller falls all around but the cherry on top was the larger falls spread throughout the bridge section of the walking tour. Would be a 5 but since COVID, you cannot wade in the water below the falls. Still beautiful and worth it.

A beautiful set of falls in a beautiful national park. The boardwalk across the top is a lovely walk and there are great view points all over.
I've been twice now and it's well worth the trip.

About an hour by car from Split. It is a national park with beautiful waterfalls and nice trails. Not for those who cannot stand slippery terrain and steep rocky stairsteps. The views however were wondrous. 7 euro for adults. 4 euro for students and kids 7 & older. Free under 6.

So beautiful you may literally break your ankle trying to get a good view off the mountain…

Krka is a beautiful national park. We took the walking path, and the views from there are breathtaking. There is so much to see, and the park is full of gorgeous waterfalls. Make sure you give yourself enough time to explore it all; it could easily be a half to full-day trip.

Such a beautiful waterfall. The whole Nation park is so well maintained. The ramps to walk are the best part of the park. With Turquoise blue water , greenery everywhere feels so connected to nature. There are many points to view the waterfall and all are the best. Must visit places if you are in Croatia.

Unique nature of Croatia. Definitely worth visiting this place! We were in May during the rainy season and most of the park is closed due to rising water. But this park must be visited in all seasons, as each of them reveals its own charm of this place.

Beautiful park! We'll plan to stay longer next time. Some areas near the beginning of our walk were a little crowded, but the further on we went, the more dispersed the crowd became (visit was on a late August Friday).

Don't talk yourself out of going. Just go. Quick trip from Split. Quite an easy stroll to see all the sites. You only need 1.5 hours to walk the park, and it's a single circular path, so you cannot get lost or confused.

Absolutely fabulous. Pools and waterfalls everywhere. Boardwalk for lower levels and well worth the climb to the top of the waterfall. Places to stop and rest along the way. Beautiful clear water. Don't miss this trip.

Absolutely beautiful national park. We went during the summer holiday, it was very hot. So you need a lot of drinkwater. The waterfall is impressive, you can walk very close by.

Beautiful park. Make sure you take the trail and walk around. It's easy and you will get much better photos than taking selfies by the souvenir shops. In off season, entry tickets are €7. At peak they are €40 euro. When I came here March 1 the only other hiker I encountered was a cat. Bathrooms are plentiful and free.

A wonderful place to spend a day in nature and enjoy the unusual comfort of nature. This is a place that tourists should definitely not miss, it does not require great physical fitness that some of the national parks around the world require, here you can enjoy a leisurely walk through the national park. It's certainly interesting because you can bring your pet too, so it's a mutual satisfaction 😃
Centuries-old fortress with a rich, multifaceted history, perched on a hilltop with expansive views.
Fantastic views and fresh air. A great afternoon excursion. Lots of historical sights (even GOT). Suits of armor, swords, and thorough explanations. Lots of stairs. Be sure to use the bathrooms at the base of the fort. They're nicer than you'd think!

Very nice fortress, the ticket possible to buy at the entrance and it costs 10 euro. Located only 30 minutes by car from Split and with free parking.
This fortress popular because of "Game of thrones" that was shooted at this location. Fortress is old, probably I wouldn't visit it if I lived very far, but if you live 1-2 hours near you will definitely enjoy the views from this fortress.
Viktoriia — Google review
I went as a game of thrones fan, could only make out one scene. The view is great, it took us a while to get up there and back on the public buses. (About 30 minutes waiting each way as we didn't know what time they left). There are multiple signs around the fortress which explain what's going on.
Joshua Bunter — Google review
Ticket is 10eur/each. The view is stunning. We mostly enjoyed the view and not the fortress building. This can be a great place for a picnic. Plus point: Lots of cats!
To get there, there are not a lot of busses, you take bus 22 from the center the bus will take you directly there. But please check the timetable first. It's different on Saturday and Sunday.

Overhyped place due to casting GoT, but mostly nothing to look at. No doubts it a great historical place with interesting exhibitions, but price is higher than I expected, again due to TV show.
Here you can try yourself as an archer, blacksmith and knight.
And the view, the view is incredible

A nice place with a history that goes back a long way. It's worth a visit especially for enthusiasts of the well known series that was filmed here. I find the 10€ entrance fee a bit spicy for what you get, but notoriety has its price.

Fantastic place, we haven’t seen anything like this before. This is a large territory of a well-preserved fortress located on a mountain. It’s interesting for both adults and children to see how they used to live and the views that open from anywhere in the fortress to the incredible nature of Croatia.
In terms of time, it is better to focus on an 1.5h. But it may take more if with photos 😂
Igor Siekin — Google review
This place is amazing! Absolutely worth the €10 entree fee.
Beautiful views of all of Split and surrounding mountains, and the fortress itself is so cool to see, you can read lots about the history (in English!), and see some old artifacts.
It took us about 1.5-2 hours to walk through the whole thing, but we took our time and brought ourselves a little snack too.
Extra cool if you are a Game of Thrones fan, they filmed a lot of the scenes for Moreen here and you can walk in the same spots, but even if you are not, it’s an amazing spot to see.
Transportation there was pretty good, €3 to get up by bus, about a 20min bus ride and then a 10-15min walk to the entrance. Beware that it is not very wheelchair/disability friendly, lots of uneven/old stone walls and stairs.
Highly recommend making the trip if you are visiting Split!
Janey Woolls — Google review
Super views from this fortress showing the beautiful Split and surrounding area. Mostly a ruin but it has some rooms with exhibits and info plaques in English and Croatian. No cafe or anything on site but there are toilets.
10euro each entry was OK as that includes free entry to olive museum which is a 30min walk away (we didn't go so no reviews on that)
No access for disabled so dropped a star.
Small town at bottom of fort is good for some refreshments and we took a bus from here to Solin (see my other review) which was 5euro for two 🙏

Great views - it was quite windy the day we went, so be sure to check the weather.
Uneven stones will be slick with rain for sure.
Really cool piece of history (and Game of Thrones fandom), well maintained and a great exhibit with interactive history lessons.

Amazing medieval fortress where you can feel Croatian rich history. Amazing view on the city of Split and nearby mountains. Fun fact: Klis has been used as a filming location for Meereen city in Game of Thrones.

Very nice place to spend a morning. A bus will drop you off, you pay admission and you meander through a medieval fortress. Parts of games of thrones was filmed her, in particular the scene with the dragons flying around. The steps can be tricky to navigate. The views to die for

We were visiting during early May which means there weren't that many tourists. Thus making it a very enjoyable walk around the ruins. The view is amazing and the ruins themselves are gorgeous. Definitely worth a visit.

It's a bit of an uphill walk to get there. Not suitable if your not very mobile. There is lots of steps inside as well. 10 euros each to enter. It was nice to see but most people were there due to the games of thrones link.

Very well preserved medieval castle with beautiful views on Split. I wouldn't probably have come if it hadn't appeared in Game of Thrones, but it was worth the visit.
We arrived at 1 PM on a very hot and sunny day. There were not many visitors, and the parking had a lot of spaces. But it was hot 🥵
Nice visit, nevertheless.

Amazing views from this historic landmark. You can almost picture the ancient warriors with their views and arrows, thanks in part to the Game of Thrones episodes filmed here. A must see if you're in the area.

Nice for GoT fans and great views over Split but 10€ seems a bit too much. You also have to pay the entrance to Stella Croatia which was closed during our visit- so unusable. Should have made the tickets cheaper for that. Also there is no student discount.

The Klis fortress in an incredible location above the city of Split offers an excellent adventure into the past. You will also enjoy the spectacular view of Split and its surroundings. It can rightly be said that the reason for filming certain frames for the Game of Thrones series was carefully selected by the eyes of real experts. Whoever is visiting the city of Split should not miss this wonderful fortress, it deserves every praise.

Very beautiful fortress. We went there as a spontaneous trip for the evening. The walk-up to the fortress is really not that bad. Inside, there is a lot to see, next to historical weapons and architecture. The original set for some Game of Thrones episodes can be found here! Amazing place with a cheap entrance fee.

A large fortress which has great views all the way to Split.
€10 entrance fee.
We spent over an hour walking round the various areas and looking at the views. Take a drink with you as it can be thirsty work in the heat and quite a few steps.
For any GOT enthusiasts some of the filming for season 4 and 5 was done here.

If you're a fan of fortresses and you're near Split, the Klis Fortress is something you must see! Besides the fortress itself, you will be amazed by the beautiful view of Split and its surroundings.
The Klis Fortress is one of the best examples of a medieval fortress in Dalmatia, excellently preserved and renovated in recent years. It consists of three parts, each separated by gates, and within the fortress, there are armories, barracks, towers, the duke's residence, and a church. Throughout history, it guarded the strategic passage between the coast and the hinterland, with its most glorious period being the era of wars with the Turks. The fortress was also a filming location for Game of Thrones series.
Beneath the fortress, there is free parking and café bars, and it takes about an hour to explore the fortress. Tickets can be purchased at the entrance, priced at 10 euros for adults and 3 euros for children. With the ticket, you can also visit the Stella Croatica ethno-agricultural park, located a few minutes' drive from the fortress.
Our advice is to adjust your arrival time according to weather conditions, and during the summer months, try to come earlier in the morning or later in the afternoon since there is very little shade at the fortress, and it can get very hot.
Known for its scenery, this pebble beach with pine trees & clear water draws many visitors.
Amazing beach with natural tree shadow. Make sure to arrive before 10, since the good spots are quickly occupied. Its great for snorkeling. The parking is too expensive, in my opinion, but you can park above if you arrive earlier.

Probably, if I had a tent or a sleeping bag, I would stay here overnight. To fall asleep and wake up to the music of the waves. This is an insanely romantic place) While I was taking photos and videos, couples in love did not want to leave these cozy caves by the water, and continued to admire the sunset, despite the coming autumn chill. Residents of Brela, you are incredibly lucky with your wonderful beach, take care of it)

It is a standard gravel beach, i suggest wearing water shoes.

The beach is spectacular and really-really beautiful. Its a nice pebble beach, the water deepens fast. Good place for snoorkering, near the famous rock there are lot of fish to see. If you are not staying here prepare to come early and pay a lot for parking (if you manage to find one) We’ve arrived at 9am and found probably one of the last parking spaces. Parking price in the bottom-near the beach is 20kn/hour, we stayed 9 hours and payed 180kn. No max price, pretty expensive. There is a parking lot a bit more up, there you can park for 100kn/day. Its around 4-5 mins extra walk, if we would visit again I would definitely park there. Other then that the place is superb! Also if you come early you can secure a great spot, it’ll get crowded around 10-11am. There are 3-4 places to eat, so thats pretty good. Also you can rent a jetski/sup if you would like.

Amazing beach! 1hr drive from Split in a road with beautiful landscapes. The beach offers all facilities and well organised: pedestrian path along the beach, parking, hotels, toilets, cafes, playgrounds. The views are stunning and the water so clear. Photos don’t make it justice 🙌🏻

Before you go make sure you have beach shoes as this is not a sandy beach. The water was clear and very clean, and there are also a lot of shady pleace where you can hide from the hot sun.

THIS is a proper Dalmatian beach, as they once were, before folks started tearing down the trees and clearing them out. Full of pine trees, the smell is fantastic, the beach is gorgeous, with pebbles and clear water. I wish all beaches in Croatia were like this one. Kudos to the local community for keeping it as such!
Diocletian's Palace is a large and imposing Roman ruins in the heart of Split, Croatia. It served as a residence for an emperor and the military garrison, and is one of the city's top tourist attractions. The museum inside tells the story of one of historys most powerful men.
It's an old fortress in old town of split. You can roam around the fortress. Mostly it's closed so you can see ruins from outside but still it's beautiful. Many GOT scenes are shot here
this whole place has cafes and bar, ice cream shops and shopping outlets. it’s beautiful place

Really stunning ancient walls, well preserved and a calm place for walks in the evening. Lovely restaurants and shops around the area. Whilst it is one of Splits most popular tourist attractions there really isn't much to see compared to landmarks in bigger European cities
Ryan Evans — Google review
The palace and grounds are an amazing opportunity to step into the past. A guided tour would take you 2 hours approx but give you a history of the development of the palace and it's many uses.
Also, at midday every day there is a small 'welcome' from the acted ruler and soldiers at the door to the palace.
Paul Dallison — Google review
A beautiful location of living history. Contemporary business and active household intermingling and adapting to the Roman history that it all resides in. An audio walking tour of the area is highly recommended, but don't hesitate to stray a few blocks outside the palace on any given side. There are wonderful restaurants and shops near the palace in addition to those inside.

The history of this place is just out of this world! A roman palace that’s still live and been repurposed to accommodate the lifestyle in the 21 st century!! It’s a touristy area so expect lots of little shops and restaurants within the walls. Highly recommend visiting if you are in Split.
Ghazal — Google review
We were so stunned walking through this Roman palace in Split! It is actually the world's most complete remains of a Roman palace. On first sight you may not recognize it as a palace as it looks rather like a city wall. This is because in post Roman times the people of split built their city inside the palace. So you will need some imagination when visiting. Best is to start your way in the cellar, entering from the harbor side. Then walk your way up to the historic Peristyle. Also three of the original four gates are preserved. Our biggest highlight was the temple of Aesculapius. Five stars is not enough for this site and even our kids could not get enough of it!
Oliver Falk-Becker — Google review
Great place to see. A lot of activities here. Shops, food, drinks, etc. Please make sure you allow yourself enough time at this ancient historical site. There is so much to see. You need at least 2 solid days to explore all the nooks and crannies, streets and alleyways. Only parts of the original palace remain but are still a significant chunk of the site. It's interesting to see how the newer portions intermingle with the original. If you are into ancient history and enjoy the grandure of construction from that time, this is the place for you. Well... given the multitude of other activities, it's a great place for everyone. Oh, and don't forget to check out the Riva and enjoy the view of the Adriatic sea.

Amazing place, beautiful, kept in good condition. It's best to visit early in the morning to avoid the crowds of visitors. Stunning Roman remains right in the heart of Splits. Most of the palace can be visited for free and there are great views of the harbour when you get to the second level. I also highly recommend checking out the crypt for some more touring but I would stay away for the shops as they're overly expensive and clearly tourist traps.

Magical place!! Fell in love with Split on my first day with its narrow cobblestone paved alleyways and relaxed atmosphere with little cafes. Many little shops and a night stroll in the old town is lovely as well.

Diocletian's Palace in Split is truly a gem, seamlessly weaving history and aesthetics. The palace's architectural beauty serves as a testament to its rich past, providing visitors with a captivating journey through time.
Exploring the shops within the palace reveals a mix of treasures, although some may find them a tad pricey. However, the elevated quality of the items, including a remarkable but relatively expensive ice cream priced at 2.50, justifies the expense. It seems that the taste surpasses the cost, making it a worthwhile indulgence for those with a penchant for exceptional treats.
For an optimal experience, I recommend scheduling your visit in the evening. This timing not only allows for a more intimate exploration of the palace's historical significance but also helps avoid the bustling crowds that tend to gather in the middle of the day.
A highlight not to be missed is the bell tower. Ascending its heights provides not only a panoramic view of the surroundings but also a unique perspective on the palace itself. It adds an extra layer of charm to the visit, making the exploration of Diocletian's Palace in Split a truly enriching and memorable experience.

The old city of Split is one of the most wonderful historical cities in the Europe. The labirynth of streets, hidden shortcuts and historical spirit give you a feeling that you are walking in ancient Rome empire. I recommend to walk across streets during day and also to see this beautiful city by night. It's also worth to buy ticket to visit city's attractions - everything in reasonable prices, but experience exceeds expectations.

A fascinating area of Split. Which draws in a lot of tourists. We found it best visited early morning as the foot traffic was less. This allows you to capture the beauty in a more relaxed environment.
The streets are beautiful, and some of the alleys are tiny. Just walk round and take it all in.
Tickets are needed for attractions such as Bell Tower and Cathedral but elsewhere free. Keep your eyes peeled for faces and artwork on the walls above eye level.
There are plenty of places to eat and drink in the area, and it's buzzing with life. Which is also great.
Melissa Roberts — Google review
The palace is not typical like other Roman sites as there are shops and museums in the palace grounds with crowds packing all the main areas even during October time. It is quite impressive and in a prominent sea facing location.
You can easily wander around the palace to see the history, architecture shop and get some food to eat.
I would recommend the underground tour to see the massive structure below the streets and admire the construction feat.
And don't forget to visit the cafes, restaurants and shops in the palace grounds

For me it was like time travel. I can see improvement on the respect to the place. It used to be open for everyone and now you have to pay to see some of that gorgeous old buildings. That's good. We have to preserve our heritage. It's going in the right direction. Nice!

to visit and explore. We learned so much history. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Split was an amazing place to visit. We learned about the palace being decorated with numerous 3500 year old granite sphinxes, and now there are only three remaining left. It was supposed to be the retirement home for Diocletian. It was also one of the filming locations for Game of Throne's so that was cool to see as well.

Huge place. Take your time to go through the alleys and be amazed by the engineering to build such a city. I imagine the people staying on the higher "floors" are richer, and since unclean stuff flows down, the people staying at the ground levels and below regularly have to do the cleaning up.
A labyrinth of alleys and overhead arches built with stones is amazing.
The Katedrala sv. Jakov is a monumental Gothic-Renaissance cathedral located on the Dalmatian coast and designed by Juraj Dalmatinac. It boasts over 70 sculpted heads on its facade and is recognized as a World Heritage Site. The cathedral was constructed entirely of stone from various islands in the region, making it the world's largest church built solely of stone without brick or wooden supports.
Beautiful cathedral with wonderful stonework, details and presence. Šibenik is a beautiful city and it’s old town is full of historic sites. You can get lost in the old streets and find historic sites on each corner. Best time to visit is spring or early hours during the weekdays when it’s not so hot and crowded with tourists.

The city of Šibenik or as pop culture calls it Braavos. Šibenik, a neighbour city right beside Split, is also a city of music and is well known for its long tradition of Klapa (like acapella) choir which UNESCO has placed on the list of cultural heritage. The city houses 3 fortress and is where the town of Šibenik came into existence. The city was also used by the TV series, Game of Thrones, to depict the city Braavos. To recap, Braavos is the wealthiest and most powerful of the Free Cities in GoT, and is located on the northwestern end of Essos where the Faceless Men (whom Arya Stark understudied), Iron Bank (yes if you need money to build an army you come here, although Iron Bank depicted in the show is really just St. James Cathedral) and Moonsingers (priestess) are found. The wealthy city streets are also depicted in the TV series so its quite a fan moment for me to walk in GoT.

Most beautiful cathedral on this side of Adriatic. You just need to take a quick look and will be amazed. It is build completely of stone which was real challenge indeed. It was not easy for small towns to build such cathedrals and it was under constructions for almost one hundred years but result is fascinating. If looking from modern perspective some of the funds should have been diverted for hospital, school and libraries but then it was very important to have big cathedral, at least bigger then your neighbors!

Interesting and beautiful interior with usefull prospect. And it's nice price, 5€ , which includes also entering in multimedia museum Civitas Sacra, which is 2min walk from St.Jacob

We climbed to top of the 56m bell tower and you get a brilliant 360 view of Zadar old town. 15kn per person. Very good value
If you climb around the top of the hour you'll also get a great treat of hearing and feeling the bells close up and seeing the workings of the machinery.
Lots of spiral staircases, watch you don't bang your head at a couple of places. Patience required as other visitors coming up and down but there are are a few places to wait.

It is must to see place. Amazing stone carvings. The Baptistery is marvellous. I have never seen anything to compare with.

You understand immediately why this was used as a location for Game of Thrones. This building and it's surrounding area is amazing. The church is equally impressive inside where you don't wanna miss the beautiful crypt. Fairly wheel chair accessible once you are clear of the big Staircase leading up to the church from the street. I would say that with 1-1.5h you've seen what there is to see. Just around the corner of the church you find the city museum that definitely is worth a look to get a feel of the city.

Cathedral in sibenik also come sun UNESCO world heritage. It’s very giant In shape and also along with that , it’s old city town follows very great architecture for building.

Sibenik is a Lovely little city. You can walk around the aicators and find some beauty in every corner. :) Like this Saint Jakov Cathedral. There is an entrance fee, but It's worth to mention that this cathedral was in Game of Thrones series. If you are a fan, you should go there. 🤩
Stalwart stone wall popular for countryside views & access to a quaint town, castle & church.
Great little hike up the hill. 8 euros is a bit pricey if you ask me but the view is definitely worth it. If you're reasonably fit you'll make it in 25 minutes with a few hydration breaks.

Stonske zidine is THE BEST thing in Stone.
10€ tickets - definitely worth it. Me and wife had a wonderful morning "hiking" the wall from Ston to Mali Ston. This is like mini Great wall of China : )

I hope you like steps because there is plenty of them here!
There is two trails.. the left which is the steeper of the two but this is closed and by the condition of the scaffolding it’s been closed for a lot of years and will continue to be closed for many years to come. The right is not as steep and you can walk along it no problem.
You can’t walk up to the top of the hill as the path hasn’t been completed/repaired and I highly doubt it ever will.
I found this all a bit boring if I’m honest. Nice views is the only positive I can think of.

I love this place. Ston itself is beautiful and the walls - Its quite a climb but its so rewarding with amazing view.

Rich history and excellent hiking experience. I feel it is often overlooked due to Dubrovnik's vicinity. However, it is a unique experience, and the tickets don't need to be so expensive.

It's like mini version of Great Wall. It was nice to take a break and walk aorund in the small town.

Wish there was a bit more information about the entrance. We parked in one of the entrance parking spots but it seemed closed. It turned out later that someone was at the closed gate but I guess they didn't just see us. Thankfully we did find the second entrance further away.
There are 2 routes but neither go to the top. One of them goes from the inside, looking over the city and at the end you can continue on the longer trail but that just goes on the side of the mountain to the other side. It was a bit dissapointing that we couldn't go to the very top.
Price is around 10€ per person but they don't accept euros and it's written that they accept cash and credit cards but they told us that they don't accept credit cards either.
The view was nice though and got a good workout from it as it was pretty intensive for the legs

Not as famous as other Croatian attractions but definitely worth seeing.I personally recommend Route from Ston to Mali Ston. Very picturesque!
But be aware! Climbing up the wall is quite demanding especially in high season when temperatures exceed 40°C. Make sure to take water and a head cover! Otherwise go in the evening or early morning:)

Was very nice to visit. Entry was 10 euro. There's a lot of stairs so get ready for some cardio. It has a great view of Ston. You can walk all the way to Mali Ston along the wall as well.

Definitely recommended! We entered close to the parking, then went towards the seaside side, amazing vuews. Then back and around Ston, exiting on the other exit. Was perfect!!

Nice place to stop and enjoy in Ston , medieval fortress and protective wall.
Is nice to have lunch there because is best place to try oysters and local wine, which is one of the best from this area !

Beautiful city of Ston lovely place to visit and adventure. Get lost in the narrow streets and enjoy the beauty this town has to offer. Historical landmark.
Armin Isic — Google review
Absolutely an incredible experience!! The walls are the largest one in the world, just after the one in China . You can take three different entrance and make 2 different walks . The one who brings you from stone to Mali stone is very challenging. It has a very steep stairs within a narrow corridor , so make sure to do with proper shoes and be very patience. Overall it’s absolutely WORTH IT!! Not to mention the view how is outstanding!! Highly recommended!!!
Francesco Ricci — Google review
Very very cool experience. The wall walk is pretty grueling, especially in the summer heat. To go up and over to Mali Stone via the walls, then walk back via the road is likely going to take you 2 hrs with photo stops and water breaks. Take water as there is none along the way, and don't worry, once you get to the top of the Ston side, it's much much easier from there. Absolutely worth the effort though! Beware of old mate at the ticket office who told me it's cash only, but once I told him I had no cash he magically produced a POS terminal 🙄

You get fabulous views of the old town from its walls ,and if you are a Game Of Thrones fan then all the better for you .We are and we loved spotting some of the film locations .
Some of the steps are pretty steep ,so let's be careful up there ,people .
There are a few pit stops along the way for refreshments, just don't get too refreshed .
Some fabulous sunsets are on offer if you are lucky enough to catch one .
Buy a one day Dubrovnik pass which will get you entry to the wall and a few of the museums in the old town as well as public transport for 24 hours. Not a bad purchase as wall entry price is the same price.
So if in Dubrovnik it's a must ,you won't regret it .
Vidova Gora, the highest point on the Adriatic Islands at 778m, offers breathtaking views of Hvar island as well as Vis and the mountains of Peljesac Peninsula and Biokovo. The peak can be accessed either by a sealed road through a pine forest or by hiking/biking from Bol. While it may require some physical exertion to reach its summit, the stunning landscapes make it worth an effort in both cases.
If you go to the island of Brac, visiting Vidova Gora is a must. The road leading there is charming in itself, but the view from the summit is particularly breathtaking. Just imagine: hundreds of meters below you. Below your feet lies Bol and Zlatni Rat, with the unique sight of the island of Hvar in the background.
If you enjoy driving, the serpentine road starting from Nerezisca is especially enjoyable. Along the way, there is a parking lot and a junction leading to the Blaca Monastery. If you plan to descend, especially with children, bring water and food with you!
Zoltan Rozgonyi — Google review
One of the main reasons we chose to visit Brač was to spend the good part of a day climbing Vidova Gora.
It’s the highest point in the Adriatic and while it’s only 2,552 ft. Its 2,599 ft. prominence (height relative to the rest of the terrain) affords some remarkable views of Zlatni Rat, Bol, Hvar, and so much of the Adriatic Sea.
We hiked directly from our hotel (Lifestyle Vitar) to the top and back for a 6.5 mile loop. We’re both pretty seasoned hikers but this definitely wasn’t the simplest of vacation hikes.
Totally doable but bring a decent bit of water for the summer months and wear sturdy footwear/take your time coming down as there’s a lot of loose gravel.
Really beautiful views from halfway up and you’re hiking along with pasture goats which was a unique experience.
If you’re not into the hike, you’re able to drive up decently close to the summit and walk from there.
Picnic tables at the top to enjoy a meal and take a breather. Highly recommended and one of our favorite parts of our trip to Croatia.

An absolute must while on the island. When you get to where it tells you that you have arrived, you can park and get photos, walk, and get a drink/snack. You can also continue to drive up or walk to other viewing points and so worth the visit. Its incredible

One of the most beautiful places on the Dalmatian coast: the views are simply stunning, as you get to grasp Bol, all the Dalmatian islands from the Bays of Hvar to Korcula, Peljesac, Vis, Bisevo, Lastovo and even Mljet on a clear day while also having the background of the Biokovo mountains to the East. They say that you can see Italy on a very clear day but coming there every year for 30 years I havent been able to do so, so maybe this is more of a myth.
Hints: While the view from the parking grounds are stunning in itself it is worth walking up a few minutes to the antenna station as you get views to Vis and the Western part of Hvar as well.
The walk from Bol is fine on a cool day but you might feel frustrated when you arrive at a parking lot after walking for hours.
Go on a clear day! The best days are when a little Bora wind is blowing and clearing up the haze. On hazy days you might just be able to see Bol and parts of Hvar. Go in the early morning or evening for nice lighting.
The restaurant on top has been closed for a while but as of September 2019 there is a friendly little kiosk with drinks at the parking lot.
The road from the main road is quite narrow but there is ample space to evade crossing cars. It is easily doable for every type of car. Just dont drive too fast and enjoy the beautiful forrest all around.

The pace is gorgeous. It has beautiful flora, huge forest and it is the highest point on Brač and even the highest point among Croatian islands. You must visit the place and enjoy the peace and beauty of this magnificant nature. At the top the site is beautiful and magnificant. It has a wide view to the see and the islands. See you there.

We had a nice cycling-trip from pastura to the top of the mountain and enjoyed the beautiful landscapes and the impressive view very much...even it was hard to "climb the peak using a bicycle and just our "own" power...
Matthias Fichtner — Google review
This peak was one of the major reasons why we choose to take the car with the ferry, as it is quite a long and steep drive to the peak. We saw people cycling, but surely they were suffering a lot.
The views are phenomenal, and you can clearly see Bol from here and its insanely clean water.
There is a shop where you can buy ice cream or drinks from.
Definitely include this when in Brac!

Absolutely amazing, a must-see when on Brač. Beautiful views of the mainland, Hvar Island, and of course, the Bol's famous beach The Golden Horn...

The views during the climb up were beautiful, but my arachnophobia did not allow me to continue the way up and we had to go back. I do not recommend a trip in the early evening when the spiders are active. I knew they would be somewhere, but I didn't expect to have a two-meter web with a huge spider above my head. I think these views would frighten even the fearless.
Šipan is a serene and charming island that offers visitors a relaxing vacation. The island features stunning beaches, various water sports activities, bike rentals, hotels and even wine-making. Well this hotel is disappointing for me. The first reason is, we took it for a jacuzzi and the water was cold. I asked to fix that, they did but didn't tell me how. Next morning again cold water. so for us jacuzzi was useless. The room was big clean nice but it smelled like sewage. At first I thought it might be from the bathroom, but no. the whole room smelled very bad. the sound insulation is very bad. the first night I couldn't sleep because of the music from below and the second night we heard the neighbors in a very unpleasant act. Service was good. Breakfast was good and the location perfect but I do not have wish to be back.and this is not a resort. We went on the third day to the next resort for the same price for all inclusive and much more.

Horrible..
We chose this hotel because of its location, here the advantages of it end..
It is a 3 star hotel, I understand that, but it doesn't mean that it can be filthy. Ripped sheets, dirt in the bathroom, shower drain is stuck, air conditioner is noisy as many comments below say.
I was ashamed because I brought my family for their vacation there. So we had two rooms. And this is for the price they ask.

Great location and great rooms. I think they were just updated so everything was fresh and clean. Service was ok parking is a bit of a mess having to call then drive down a walking path and pay extra 20€. Dinner was great and service was ok. Gin station with fresh cookies was a nice touch. Cleaning lady was awesome and insisted on changing our towels. We liked that walking path forward Bol had many options to stop in for drinks and food and beach was awesome. Not hotel fault but it’s way too commercialized.

Visited the beach restaurant as a group of 5. The pasta and fries were good, so was the presentation. They could be more generous with the amount of carbonara, not gonna lie.
Everything else on the menu was obviously frozen food. Definitely avoid the burgers though, unless you like SPAM for your “meat”patty and dry bread to soak up the massive amount of oil.
David Barczi — Google review
Very disappointing, other than the good location of the hotel near the beach. I'll give you a brief review.
When entering the hotel, when going by car, you have to call the receptionist of a 4-star hotel to open the gate for you. The receptionist does not pick up the phone though so you do have to walk yourself to the hotel and then back to the gate (Half a km). The same goes for departure.
Another problem when going by car is that you have to pay for the parking - 20 euros per day.
You will be given one key - which can be taken by only one person...
The apartments are indeed good looking, fresh but damp for some reason.
The clearing service - rude.
Breakfast - everything cold: chicken nuggets/ fries and pizza (for breakfast?? probably left over from the day before).
The hotel includes a restaurant. Terrible food! With the new owner of the hotel, the food has become gross. The meals that we ordered, many times, were given fully back, and our money was spent rather at a different place. The prices are very high - so why such a bad quality?
A 4-star hotel should have it's swimming pool. We were upset when we were disgustingly kicked out, without being informed, that It was a private pool - a couple of years ago the same swimming pool was a part of the hotel.
...and all of this for such a high price?

Service, location and breakfast are great!
The breakfast has vegetarian and vegan options like almond milk and fresh fruit.
The hotel is not a resort as the title says. It is a room you rent to stay close to the beach. Nothing else. We stayed 1 night and parked the car in the private hotel parking. By check out we found out we needed to pay the parking (€20) even when you are a guest of the hotel?? We already stayed in a lot of resorts around the world and never did we have to pay an hotel parking. Very dissapointed about this so called resort with no services of a resort.

This is a very nice hotel, I am giving a good review because of the location, cleanliness and the friendly staff. Everyone from the reception desk, housekeeping to the waiters was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The gorgeous beach is a minute away and everything is nearby / within walking distance. There is a nice alley perfect for a walk to the city right below the hotel. I highly recommend this place and will definitely stay again.

DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL - THE WORST HOTEL EVER! We booked through Booking and in the end they charged us a much higher price. The people at the front desk could not speak English well so they could not explain the situation to us. The breakfast was terrible, the restaurant smelled bad. The presentation of the food looked bad and very few options. The hotel restaurant is right next to a public pedestrian street so it is very busy, that’s the only street that takes you to the beach. The only view the hotel has of the Zlatni Rat is poor because of the trees and it is the same view that anyone passing through the pedestrian street can see. The only positive thing is that the rooms are new, although when we entered they had a welcome fruit bowl full of ants.
Susana Moreno — Google review
Great location and that's about it. The bed mattresses and pillows are very poor quality, probably the cheapest type.
AC blowing right towards the beds which is not very comfortable.
The breakfast is not in line with the prices the hotel is charging for the night 331 eur; poor food choices and food quality same as in a ordinary cheap hotel.
The Korcula Town Museum is a small 16th-century Renaissance palace which showcases exhibits on the history and culture of Korcula. The museum features an impressive collection of amphoras, photographs from the 1930s and 1950s, and other historical artifacts that have been arranged in chronological order. Visitors can explore the rich history of Korcula for a modest entrance fee of only 20kn.
Really good and modern museum occupying 5 floors. EUR6 entrance fee. The basement has the oldest pieces, and it gets more modern history as you climb up. Also a good toilet in the basement, which is handy! I particularly liked the helmet from the 5th or 6th century BC.

Korcula Town Museum is located across the St. Marc Cathedral. The Museum is housed in Gabrieli's palace, built in the 15th and 16th centuries but newly renovated. It consists of 4 floors and shows how life on the island looked before.
I would definitely recommend this place so you can understand the history of Korcula better. My favorite parts of the museum are the 3rd and 4th floor but the other two floors are no less attractive.

Mljet is a picturesque island covered in forests and boasts of beautiful beaches, caves, and national parkland that invites hikers to explore. The national park occupies a vast area of 5400 hectares on the western end of the island, offering shaded walking and cycling tracks, stunning coastal views, ancient ruins, and saltwater lakes. The two main villages of Pomena and Polace are bustling with tourists during summer days but remain tranquil after boat departures.
Such a beautiful island, the lakes are like paradise and the restaurants and bars are lovely - couldn’t recommend it more

If you are a nature appreciator, you will love it here. Everywhere you look you will see beauty. If you love loud, bad music and pop your collar, you will be bored in 2 hours. This is island is sleepy. Def not a party place.
I came to the island from Dubrovnik. Take the kilro ferry to pomena, mljet. Rent a room at Odisej Mljet( bonus plug to them for serving vegan food)
The park is a short walk from the hotel. It’s like 20 USD/Euro to get in. Lovely trails, nice and gravely. Gorgeous, turquoise water that you can swim in. So lovely. You can rent bikes if you wish. You can take a boat (runs every 20 mins) to St. Mary on the islet of St. Mary. Long story short, it’s a historical church on an island. There is a cute little restaurant in the park where you can stop for an espresso or meal and admire the lake.
I really enjoyed this park, its maintained and it’s very well marked. No chance to get lost. Only thing that was disappointing is that there weren’t many birds or wildlife as far I could tell. In all fairness , I was there all three days in the afternoon when the sun was blazing. And Birds don’t like heat. Maybe there would be more action in the morning. Anyways. I loved this park very much. Incredibly safe for a solo, vegan , female ,nature lover.

Nr. 1 favourite place in whole Croatia. An island in the adriatic where there is a lake, with another island on it, giving a location to an old church and a nice restaurant. It is a little bit like Bled lake in Slovenia, but with salty water. :) It is a real beauty of nature, could spend there a whole week.

Beautiful place, with no easy access, but maybe this is an advantage, because it is not so crowded.
The nature is stunning. Why not 5 stars? We did not like one of the city - Sobra with the worst omelette that I have ever eaten in my life😅
Pomena is much better! At first, we planned to stay at the hotel (only one in the island, but the hotel looks like from the eightiesand is very expensive - over 120 e per night, definitely not worth). We found an amazing room at SALEMA Apartaments in Pomea. I do not remember the address, but close to the entrance to the national park. The host is fab and the place - simple, extremely clean and with all u need. Value for money. 😀

We visited Pomena which is a small village on the island of Mljet in Croatia that is so quaint and charming you may never want to leave.
It is still one of those hidden gems, but in recent years has seen a bit more development to make it very easy to stay, whilst still being somewhere that feels hidden from the world.
The nature surrounding it and the national park make Mljet perfect for nature lovers and hikers. Daily walks are a must.
