We enjoyed ourselves here. It was a bit of a trip out of town but worth it. The admission price is good. We went on New Years Day, and attendance was maybe low as it wasn't overly crowded like some other places we've been. My 14 yo liked it. To me, it was cute but maybe age wise, more for tween or younger. We got there kinda late because it took so long to get there, and there were activities that were closed already. We spent maybe 2 hrs there right before closing.

If your children is a Hello Kitty fanatic- this is the place to take someone to make their dreams come true.
Very cool place, we visited the restaurant inside the park and very affordable. Light show was incredible and amazing! Shows are very nice.
This is a good place to visit with your kids.
It’s ok if you are a fanatic of Hello Kitty too and enjoy the time there as for some people it’s a once in a lifetime experience.

Went on a weekday, a bit rainy too- but the park is totally inside so that was good! We bought tickets at the gate and had no trouble getting in right away. The big store at the entrance does have everything that all the little small shops have in different sections so don’t feel compelled to buy right as you exit an attraction.
The wait times on the two little car/boat rides were 2 hours long so I decided to skip, plenty of other cute photo opportunities and kawaii decor. Did wait for Lady kitty’s house to meet Hello kitty and it was so cute! Will cherish our photo together!
Was slightly disappointed by exclusives offered in shop- was hoping there would be more merchandise with Sanrio purpland on it but a lot of items were just regular things that can be found on Sanrio Site.

Great for people who are fan of Sanrio. It's less crowded compare to Disneyland. The staff has very cute costumes even at the entrances. I really recommend riding the boat as it shows the real fantasy of the place. When I went there in June 2021 it was free of charge (boat riding). Perhaps, it was included on our ticket.

Maybe good for children. No attractions with excitement for adults basically, but you can enjoy meeting cute characters of Sanrio such as Hello Kitty. They don't check visitors well. Obviously 2 kids sitting in front of us in one event there were sick and coughing not wearing masks well, but staffs didn't do anything. It's basically their parents' supervision problem and I also want every child to enjoy there, but at least staffs could tell those children to wear masks well or tell the parents to supervise their children better. Not talking about corona, but about flu control in public space with many people.

Wonderful place for those with young children. There are several shows available for the young ones. As for rides, there are only 2 rides and the queue can be long after 12pm. Sanrio fans should prepare to spend time (and money) at the gift shop.

Worth coming even though it isnt as large as Disney Land. The price is more reasonable and reading the negative reviews we didn't experience too much of it thankfully. We went early and even though it was a weekend it wasn't too bad. Even the food lines were only 30 min wait if at all. We ate early though as we have two toddlers. When we left it got busier but wasn't as crazy as some of the pictures and reviews from 3, 4 years ago. Think they have a fast pass system you can pay for 1000 yen. We thought about it before heading there but while we were there it really wasn't necessary. Saw the character once, show two times, went on the rides 4x or more within 3/4 of the day.

This place is better than what I expected before the visit. A lot to see in a fancy indoor building. The shows are amazing even only in Japanese. Highly recommended if you have young kids or a fan of Hello Kitty and her family.

This place beyond amazing. I was lucky to go during Halloween, so it was all themed for that and Kuromi was the star for f the event. From the moment you walk in, you’re engulfed in all things hello kitty. The place doesn’t have too many rides, and if you’re a bigger person, won’t be able to fit in 2 of the main attractions. Aside from that, the main thing people come here for are definitely the live shows & performances. As the day goes by, wait times increase; so expect to wait up till an hour to get on the main attractions. The restaurants were all amazing, simple yet expensive themed food and desserts. Multiple gift shops to buy all hello kitty items. It’s definitely a whole days worth of a trip, so plan accordingly.

Sanrio Puroland, the beloved home of Hello Kitty, is a whimsical haven that captures the hearts of visitors young and old. Stepping inside feels like entering a magical realm, where every corner is adorned with beloved characters and captivating attractions. The vibrant atmosphere is brimming with joy and excitement, making it an ideal destination for families and Hello Kitty enthusiasts alike. The themed foods featuring adorable animal faces and charming restaurants offer a delightful culinary journey through the world of Sanrio. However, be prepared for long lines at the Hello Kitty shop, where eager fans flock to collect their favorite memorabilia. With its enchanting ambiance and irresistible charm, Sanrio Puroland promises an unforgettable experience filled with cherished memories.

Love this place. If you are coming from overseas you can find discount tickets online. I also suggest the passes that let you skip the lines for shows or rides. The Kawaii Kabuki show is a lot of fun.

Though not a big park to be but glad to be indoor set up. Around 15 mins walk from nearest station. Food is available nearby too. Probably will need like 4 to 5 hours in total here. Kids will certainly like it. Lot of live show too.

Super fun, I went here and tokyo disneysea on my trip and ended up enjoying this one more. It is all indoors, which was extremely helpful because this summer was very hot! The food was pretty good, nothing amazing, but they had really cute desserts, and the buffet we went to had a spot for character performances too. Make sure to book in advance on their website or klook or something because it was about half the price they were charging at the door.
Isaac Steff — Google review
A place much more magical than Disney but a fraction of the cost.
I came here with just my partner, but many people come here as families. The place is huge, 4 stories. We got here shortly after they opened and stayed till 5pm and still weren’t able to do everything. There are two rides here, but the line is ridiculously long even in a Monday when we went. I would either get a fast pass or go as early as possible.
The food was surprisingly tasty as well. My favorite was the cod roe pasta for sure. There are great photo opportunities everywhere. I took some super cute amazing photos here. There are also opportunities to meet hello kitty and other characters.
They switch up their shows and themes often. When we went, it was the camping theme and the kabukicho show. It was a 40 minute long show with signing, dancing, and a cute story. I speak minimal Japanese and could easily follow what was going on, since it’s made for kids they are using simple vocab and speak slowly. But my partner who knows minimal Japanese followed a long well.
We ate right when we got there at 10am, but later in the day the food lines got really crowded. They go by super fast, you usually have your food instantly after you order.
Overall, if you are a huge sanrio fan and love being surrounded by cuteness, come visit! But only if you have time on your trip to Tokyo, it’s almost an hour train ride there and you will be there all day.
Angelique Howard — Google review
Many say it takes about 3h to see all the stuff but it took all day. There were big queues for the 2 rides, had to wait 1h. Also queues for taking photo too.
The restaurants has different scenes and the food is not to bad.
I did not buy tickets online, got it at the door. Was not too busy in the morning, after lunch it was packed out.
Overall it was a very fun day out.

My daughter is a hardcore Sanrio fans but we as the parents are super disappointed with how they don't control the number of tickets sold daily.
The indoor park is super crowded on a weekday and you can barely get a spot to view the parade, we tried to buy the Puropass but it was sold out.
We have been to many theme parks all over the world and even though Puroland tickets are cheaper but the experience is horrible, we wanted to leave within an hour if it's not for our kid.
Totally waste of time if it's not for the kids, not to mention that it's far from the city center.
CK Wong — Google review
A neat, delicate and wonderful place for visitors to explore Sanrio icon characters inside the land. The interior decoration and layout are spectacular and unique but it is not so roomy. It is really crowded even in week days. Lots of kids and teenagers love to visit the land for photo shooting, funny activities participation and game playing.
Moreover, exclusive merchandise products and meals are also the best attractions here. Visitors can have 10% tax refund if the total purchasing amount is over 5000 yen.
The staffs are professional and friendly to guide or serve you all the time. Kids are really happy to enjoy their time inside. A good place for parents to have fun with kids on holidays or weekends. Just come and enjoy. Have fun.

A dream for Sanrio lovers! We went as 2 adults on a weekday in December, and had an amazing time.
There’s something here for everyone, but it’s mostly targeted to young children. We stayed for the whole day, and found it difficult to fit everything we wanted to do in! A lot of time sensitive events happen in Puroland, such as the character meet and greets, the birthday celebration and parade/shows, so you need to plan the timings of your day well.
There are so many cute photo spots all over Puroland, so perfect for taking photos. Lady Kitty’s house was particularly good, lots of adorable photo ops! Make sure to dress up cute and take lots of pictures!
For the character meet and greets, I recommend looking on the website to see which characters are there on the day of your visit if you really want to meet a specific one. To meet the characters, you need to get a ticket with an hour return window on it and you can only hold one ticket per mobile device, and if you want to meet more than one character you have to meet the first one before you can get another ticket (it’s very confusing!). Slots for the meet and greets do run out so I recommend you either prioritise the popular characters (because they run out first) or your favourite characters (so you don’t miss out!).
Rides wise, there aren’t a lot in Puroland, the Sanrio Boatride is absolutely fantastic and well worth the wait. Watch out for the closing time of the boatride, if the queue is long enough, they will close the queue early and during our visit the ride temporary broken down so getting on as early as is reasonable is best! The My Melody ride is also very cute and enjoyable, especially since My Melody is my favourite character.
There are two food courts, and both are very cute with Sanrio themed food. The cutest looking ones are the curries but the portions are quite small for an adult. We also had the Gudetama ramen which was really good.
The main draw of Puroland is definitely the shows, standouts being the Kawaii Kabuki show and the Miracle Gift Parade. Kawaii Kabuki is a show in a theatre so you don’t need to come super early if it’s not too busy in the park overall, the show is fantastic, wholeheartedly recommend seeing this! The Miracle Gift Parade is a parade that takes place around the central tree so there are many places that you can get a good view from. It’s a great way to see many characters at once. This one is a bit more difficult to get a good view for so arrive at least 30 mins before to find a good spot.
The gift shop has so much variety and stays open past closing time, so you can shop after your day around the theme park. They also have lots of merch for less popular/more obscure characters, so if your favourite character is more obscure, it’s worth checking out the gift shop to see if you can find them.
Overall, we had a fantastic day, and stayed from opening to closing! If you love Sanrio and cute things, you will adore Puroland.

Sanrio Puroland is very very cuteeee, but it’s sooooo small. It’s very beautiful if youre a fan of any of the iconic characters. Which I am. Although it’s very very much for little kids. If youre an adult, they have very cute merchandise and cute photo places, although , not much else. The boat ride was cute. Although it’s a bit of a fun wait. I recommend it for families with young kids! If youre an adult or late teen, defintely take cute pics. Although, you definitely don’t need the whole day there.

Especially A fun place to take your children It’s a hello kitty themed park with various small shows, souvenir and merchandise shop, and decorations to look at. I would recommend to book ticket online so u don’t need to wait in line and also it’s cheaper than buying on the spot.
Pratik MAHARJAN — Google review
very fun but very crowded, when you enter the park itself there is little to no queue but wait until you get inside… went there 1 hour after opening and everything was already full with queues of 1h+. you can reserve your ticket before but it’s not necessary. it is still nice to visit even if you don’t do all the rides they offer and they have a huge shop so it’s worth checking out. And remember to find your seats at least 45min before the parade starts if you don’t want to pay, you will see a lot of people starting to sit down to have the best place. In total i stayed for approximately 4 hours without doing any ride

Take me back. I want to live here.
(Late Review as we went back in June/July 2023 but forgot to post.)
I wouldn't recommend going to Puroland if you're not a Sanrio fan, as it doesn't really have rides like a typical amusement park, but if you're a Sanrio fan like I am this is the best place ever. Everything in that place is themed. The food is themed. The place was actually bigger than I thought it would be. There's two different 'food court' areas! It's fun to just go around and stare at everything. Of course, I mainly went here to gift shop and eat the Sanrio-food so if you're here for more of an typical experience maybe go to a different amusement park. But for me it was the best. You could also meet the characters, but we didn't do that.
Food was surprisingly nice for themed food!! The crepes were so delicious and I wanted to eat five of them. I wouldn't really recommend the 'jelly drink' pictured next to the crepes as there was so... much... jelly in it but also I'm not big on tropical flavours. You might like it! :) Everything was tasty aside from that, and I'm definitely coming again next time I'm in Japan.

This has to be the biggest stop along any highway in Japan! It’s massive! There are plenty of toilets, shopping and the place is loaded with buses and motorists. Is actually too big to make it a quick pit stop if you’re driving to get to your destination.

I took a bus and stopped at this place as a rest location. The place is really good. It has everything that you need on a 20 minutes stop. I was able to buy some food and water, go to the restroom, and walk a little but before continue with my long journey. The bathroom is really clean and has a lot of space, so it is really comfortable.
Alex Montoya — Google review
Ebina service Station has almost everything needed to take the stress off a long drive.
A huge variety of food spots to satisfy your hunger. Starbucks, bread stores, gift shops, food stands, and a second floor food court.
Drink machines are also available. Machines on the first floor near the entrances will install a lid on your drink, you can actually see your drink being made inside the machines.
The toilets are huge, very clean and comfortable. There are lights that direct you to empty stalls, you won't need to check the doors for vacancies. There are lights above each stall, just like a parking garage.
If you sit down, the toilet will tell you which part of your body is tired. You can select just about any language with touchscreen control. (Impressive)
I recommend stopping here to experience it, it's a good rest area. Most of the prices are high to include the ENEOS gas station.
Most of the vendors are packed in and it makes walking around a little hectic.
Can't comment on the Staff since most are private vendors.
I did buy cheesecake and sweet potato tart from Baum on the second floor. The Staff was nice and the tarts were very good.
Reason for 4 stars:
The parking lot is not organized. Trucks and buses park in car spaces even though they have designated parking spots. There wasn't a ground crew to direct traffic.
Handicap parking is too far from the entrance and is located near the outside smoking area. I felt sorry for the elderly couple that parked in one of the spots and were walking to the toilet.
Inside the building needs more spacing between vendors in the middle area on the first floor.
The second floor is great, but the men's toilet is very small.
The prices in the gift shops and gas station are other reasons.
Please check it out if you can.

Seibuen Amusement Park offers a nostalgic experience with its Shōwa era theme. The park features a variety of classic rides and attractions, including a Godzilla attack ride and an Astro Boy attraction based on the popular Osamu Tezuka manga. In addition to retro classics, visitors can enjoy modern amenities such as a lazy river, wave pool, and water slides during the summer months. The park also hosts lively water battles during the day and captivating fireworks displays in the evening.
Kids wanna check out the 銭天堂 event and they enjoyed it.
The main entrance is the only place that has a shaded area. The pool side was not opened yet because the summer break has not started.
It was fun showing kids a lot of retro games that we used to play. Overall it was pretty good but the weather was way too hot. Need to bring lots sunscreens and water.
Ken Kuo — Google review
Newly renovated Seibuen amusement park is now post war, showa themed. They've added a small street full of very small vendors. The price is steep at ¥4,400 per adult. Not only that, everything in the park is monopoly money ONLY so you are forced to prepay to purchase food and souvenirs ahead of time. Once you enter, you realize there is a line for absolutely everything, even to enter the stores. Be aware there isn't much inside so be careful not to get too much monopoly money. You can buy more once inside, if you need it. We were stuck with 200 tokens at the end of the day, which isn't enough to buy anything, but is worth $2 in real life.
We waited almost two hours just to have a drink and sandwich in the cafe. I suggest eating before/after the park and only snack inside. You will have to wait in line for EVERYTHING.
The only ride worth lining up for is the Godzilla ride, but is the park worth the price? Absolutely not. The many retro museums throughout Tokyo city is so much better that this place is just a huge cash grab scam.
Not to mention, they are intolerant of tattoos. Good thing it was fall and I had mine covered. If it were up to me, I would never give any more money to this company ever again. What a shame because I use to come here monthly when I was little.

This place is a great example of 1960s Japan lifestyle. It is both adult and kid friendly. Lots of clean public bathrooms and places to grab a bite. The park actors were phenomenal. And both the Godzilla ride and the viewing tower were exceptional. It's a good day trip for the family.

Nice place to pay a visit with family! Cool playground for kids. We want to watch the Godzilla show, but they could not allow kids below 4 year’s old. Our kid was pretty sad and crying all the time. The facilities over there are pretty old, but the staff are pretty friendly and awesome. The street shows in the market are really great, and we really enjoyed the show. However, if you want to purchase food or drinks in the stores, you need to purchase 遊園地currencies at the 郵便局 in the market. It is really annoying and inconvenient. The parking fee was also expensive and so as the tickets, so I do remind you to think it again if you want to come here.

Since I know there’s a Godzilla the ride , is a must go , the entrance fee is ¥4,300 and you need to pay for park money like monopoly’s. And if you are not able to spend it all the same day , you can’t use it after.
Beside Godzilla the ride is not worth it for this price, Is a big park but too old with games mostly for children, the pools are not working and there’s only one restaurant and you need to wait a long time to eat in cause the pandemic even with a few people inside the park this day. So If you are seeking for a wild roller coasters this is not the one.

It’s an old style amusement park themed to showa era, there are only a few rides more for kids, no major coasters. What saves this place now is the Godzilla / Ultraman ride and the Main shopping street atmosphere performers, Showa era theming and shows. There is a park scrip currency but you can also use electronic payments (ic cards , credit cards etc) not forced to use it. Think overpriced for what is offered but if it’s your first time it’s OK. Some themed Godzilla food. Note you can’t leave the park officially and come back unless you have a good excuse. There is convenience store a few hundred meters outside the park.

I visited Seibuen in late July on a Thursday with a group of friends. After reading some other reviews I was a little worried, but we had an amazing time! The staff were so nice and made us feel welcome by speaking to us in English or simple Japanese. Some tips:
1) Go on a weekday if possible. We didn't have to wait for any of the rides or water slides, it was great.
2) Make sure to attend the Boogie Woogie Festival at noon in the little town. The dancers/actors are phenomenal. You can find the show times under エンターテインメントショーon the website.
3) The pool area and park have different opening/closing times. These change often so it's best to check the website section 営業時間.
4) You will not be allowed in the park if you have a visible tattoo. One of our party had a small tattoo so they simply hid it with clothing. You can even wear a shirt in the pool.
5) The park area forces you to use their 'monopoly money'. But you can use regular yen at some vending machines and in the pool area where there are food trucks.
6) In the pool area there is almost no shade so it is best to bring a tent. You should also bring your own floaties for the pool/lazy river. You can buy some at the park but it's very expensive. There are beach-style showers and a changeroom.

Came here just for Godzilla and it was totally worth the trip to Saitama. We arrived at 4 and the tickets were half off so that was nice. Keep in mind some rides were closing soon after 4 so if you plan to go on everything, plan to come earlier than that as there was a long line for Godzilla.

The park is pretty simple but the street based in the showa era is a lot of fun. Definitely recommend the Godzilla ride. The limited ticket is not necessary if you wait til after 6pm to ride it

Great park loved it. Great rides but long lines.
Your tattoo rule l seriously stupid.
It's the reason for the many negative reviews.
I have zero tattoos so I don't care.. But seriously you're not a sento.
More food choices would have been great as 60 mins to get lunch was a little frustrating. The Godzilla ride was awesome but 90 mins lines were crazy.
More hot dogs and finger food needed.
Staff were great but I felt they needed more to manage the crowds.
Sumner would be great here as many of the rides mainly the park are geared for water rides. Buy the express pass if going on weekend. Will save you lining up for hours.

Overall a bit smaller than expected but not a bad way to spend a few hours. In a nice hilly area near a major baseball stadium. Highlight of the park is definitely the theatre where you can experience a large screen viewing of a short video while seated in a machine that moves in reaction to the scenes played.
Chris Higgins — Google review
The best attraction here is the Godzilla, you can ride as much as you want. It's not crowded because of the pandemic. If you go there by car, it will cost you ¥1800 for the parking lot, but you can go also by train, there is a station directly in the park . To enter the park you will pay¥4400, and additional payment for the park's money that you will use for buying foods, items, and for games also. The rides are mostly for kids. ¥600=50 seibuen money.

The Samukawa Shrine, a serene Shinto sanctuary with a rich heritage of 1,600 years is famous for its traditional festivities. On a bright sunny day, I walked along the river from my hometown to reach this historical site in Samukawa city. This shrine is unique and renowned for bringing good fortune and eliminating misfortunes through its Happo yoke ritual. Families flocked to the shrine seeking blessings and endless benefits while enjoying the beautiful scenery around it.
Atmosphere there is something fresh and keeping clean and overwhelmed. This shrine had established since 1600 year ago at least according to its history.

Went there on New Year’s Eve 2023 after 1:00am. Heavy traffic. Parking space felt it was organized by Yakuza - very expensive. Buttakuri!
Food kiosks felt were syndicated! Though the experience is unique. It was super cold, and many people had come to do their New Year wishes and prayers,
I give 3 stars because of the way parking and food kiosks were organized. Through the shrine is old, the gate is illuminated with neon lights, and that did not make it feel old!

We walked along a river side from my home town to Samukawa city for about 2 hours and our goal point was this historical old Shrine, Samukawa Shrine. It was a beautiful sunny day and many people were visiting here with their families for their fortune in the future.

The shrine is famous throughout the Kanto region as a place to remove all directions.
There are several parking lots in the vicinity. During normal times, you can park anywhere, but during the Hatsumode (New Year's visit) season, the roads in the vicinity are completely blocked. Parking at the shrine is free, but during the Hatsumode season, temporary private parking lots are set up all around the area. If you do not pay for parking during the Hatsumode season, you will probably lose a lot of time. There are stores selling souvenirs in one corner of the approach to the shrine and in the second parking lot. Not only shrine-related items, but also Shonan souvenirs are available.
By public transportation, it is about a 5-minute walk from Miyayama Station on the Sagami Line. Shuttle buses are available from Hon Atsugi and Ebina during the Hatsumode season.

A 1,400 year old shrine located in Kanagawa. The area was very wide and it was comfortable to walk around. Lots of nature and a nice tourist spot. There's also some places to grab a quick bite both in the shrine area as well as in some restaurants nearby.

LaLaport Ebina is a contemporary mall located near the station that houses several fashionable retailers, a food court, supermarket and an area dedicated for children's play. The mall offers a diverse range of shops and restaurants including Subway, with most of them displaying their names in English. Additionally, the concierge service provides help and support to customers. Halal food is also available at the fresh market. The mall's highlight is its engaging kids activity center which adds to an enjoyable shopping experience.
Pretty awesome place to pay a visit with family! Cool playground for kids at 3F. We really enjoy staying here! However, there is only two chargers for EV, I hope they can increase it.

This evening (12/21) the mall was packed with people at 7:50 pm, but closing at 8. It seems like it would be good for business to stay open later at the end of the year.

First time to see dome tour concert and it sounded so far away. Not sure if it is the nature of dome concert or because it is an open air dome or because we were sitting at the edge. The stage feels ok even we were almost at the end of the hall but binocular would help a lot if you wanna see the artist.
Lot of food shops outside but kinda bad mostly.
Toilet was a disaster with super long queue.
We leaved quite early just before the concert ended so we successfully escaped the super pack train on the way back.

Fun stadium but it's a bit out of the way. It's a trek to get to from Kanagawa, but there is good food and beer here. I recommend bringing a fan because it's stuffy under the roof. There is ample parking about an 8 minute walk, but the train station exit is at the gates to the stadium.
The stadium takes credit card at basically every kiosk and there are plenty of bathrooms. The atmosphere for the game was alright, but not stellar. It's worth the trip if you want to see the Lions play.
John Easterbrook — Google review
Excellent place for a stadium! In Japan almost all big events are somewhat ruined because of the traffic and the sheer amount of people, not the Belluna Dome. This place is in a great location. I was able to drive to the game 20 mins early park with no problem, left when the game ended and there was no traffic, I was shocked. The stadium is somewhat small but not too small. Everything about this dome is great! I will surely be going again :)
Dom Wings — Google review
Great place to see a game. The atmosphere was electric even with teams not having great seasons. Though the stadium kept in a lot of heat so it was uncomfortable at times until the sun went down.

I've been to every stadium in the greater Tokyo area and none beat this. One of the coolest sport venues I've ever seen and a must do! The Lion fans are pretty great too!
Vishnu Reddy — Google review
Ah yes, the truly wonderful Metlife (now named Belluna) Dome.
I came here for a concert in early March 2023. It did not rain so that's great, but it can get really cold in both the arena and stands. I've heard from others that when it rains, the rain comes in through the sides and you can get rained on, not great.
The biggest issue anyone will tell you about this venue is how out-of-the-way it is. It's one of the terminating stops on the Seibu Line, and the Seibu Line is the only line that connects this venue with the main Tokyo city. So, what happens when a few thousand or a few tens of thousands of people try to get back to the city at the same time, on the only train line out of the location? Yeah. The time to get back to the city on an express train is about 40 minutes.
Ryan Tan — Google review
Seats were comfortable (Section 106). The hike up to the top and then all the steps down can be arduous. Try to go through main walkway to section rather than around the outside loop.
No breeze, so the heat & humidity stay under the Dome roof.
Clay Breshears — Google review
A fantastic atmosphere watching the Seibu Lions vs Rakuten Eagles. It felt a very special occasion in a superb arena.
Ian Matthews — Google review
Our visit to Belluna/Seibu Dome in Japan for a baseball game was an unforgettable experience. The atmosphere struck a perfect balance between fun and laid-back. The presence of food vendors outside the stadium entrance added to the excitement, and the friendly and relaxed security measures made us feel welcome. Inside, we found an array of food options, souvenir vendors, and a team store. The stadium's layout, complete with maps, made it easy to navigate and explore all the drink and food offerings. Meeting the mascots and taking photos with them added to the charm of the place. Our seats were fantastic, providing a great view just a couple of rows behind the left field fence. Overall, our visit exceeded our expectations in every way. The stadium itself was beautiful and well-maintained, and we felt safe throughout our time there. We're eagerly looking forward to coming back for another game.

Went to Gaga's show. The show was outstanding, one of a kind.
The venue has lots to improve. The sound was very good (much better than Tokyo Dome). The food stands are all kinda trashy and the food was not particularly good. The line for the women's toilets was INSANE.
MAIN ISSUE: access. This venue is owned by a train company, yet it is a mess to access using public transport. For this reason I really hope I NEVER have to go back to Belluna. Tokyo Dome and Saitama Super Arena are much better venues due to their location.
Pablo Velasco (Jpanese) — Google review

Dome stadium where you walk up ramps to find your aisle, which aren't numbered immediately due to outfield seating that's probably unreserved. Some seats are little picnic tables which is nice to spread out a meal/snacks.

Seemingly good mix of your ABC mart, Starbucks, Uniqlo etc like other lalaport locations, parking was fine and the food options are better than most locations. Like others have said not close to train station and will have to take a shuttle. The three floors are easy to navigate with many large signs and maps scattered throughout the mall.

Certainty a well organized, clean and neat shopping mall coplex but that seems all to say. The restaurants are fashionable but expensive, the food court even looks cooler but has no inexpensive menu. The rooftop futsal court may be a selling point but no cinema is a minus to me. The parking lots are really huge = convenient but Hiratsuka station is 10 mins away...
Above all, the surrounding downtown shopping streets looked pretty dead possibly becuse of this Mitsui advancement and I feel sad and scared about it.

Showa Kinen Park, located in Tokyo's western suburb of Tachikawa, is a vast national park spanning over 160 hectares. The park offers extensive trails, bike paths, various gardens, and woods for visitors to explore. One of its main attractions is the expansive water park divided into five different zones. Zone C features the lively Rainbow Pool with nine pool types, slides, and wave machines suitable for older kids and teens.
A huge park with lots of things to experience. You can rent bicycle and a small train is available to cover up this huge park. A great park to enjoy your whole day cause we will get to see various flower beds, a calm Japanese garden, a bonsai museum, Kids playground, a lake with boat ride. Also there are food stalls available inside the park and luckily we got the halal Turkish food stall. A car parking is also available which costs 850 yen.

This is the most beautiful thing I've seen in Japan. The park is huge and has many attractions and exquisitely groomed plants. But there are also some wooded areas with real ecosystem. There is an entire Children's park, a cherry blossom orchard, a ginko pathway that turns gold in the fall, and plenty of restrooms. It's also handicap accessible and most of the areas are well paved (the wooded pathways are not accessible, but they are a fraction of the entire area. The park also holds frequent special events like an evening fall colors event, and displays at the traditional Japanese garden. I highly recommend it as a place to experience Japan's natural beauty and love of nature.

Huge and beautiful park just an hour from Tokyo. We spent half a day there and only covered half of the park. Managed to see many different types of sunflowers and other summer flowers. We had a break at the beautiful Japanese gardens and had green tea and a delicious seasonal sweet. Met an old tour guide at the antique farm house who gave us some fascinating background on the park. We were told that the park was a former American army base before the government took it over and converted it to a park. We will come again in different seasons to see the different flowers.

One of my favorite park in Japan. You can spend literarily all day here! From family cycling to just a stroll in the park, there are so many things you can do. Kids love the cloudy bouncy area and the boat ride on the lake. My personal favorite is cycling where you can rent out bicycles and ride around the park. The designated bicycle path is so fun! We get lost so i end up using google map. There are some park foods and it’s actually not bad. If you go during different seasons, it’s definitely a treat!

This park is huge and there is so much to do in it and it's definitely a full day destination. The nemophila and poppy fields that bloom during early May are gorgeous and won't disappoint. There are bikes available for rental and a great bike path but they sell out fast on busy weekends and holidays. There's also a little train that goes all around the park and tickets for it are only a few hundred yen. The komorebi village is cool to check out and closes at 4pm. There are also multiple food stall spots around the park. The kids play area also looked fantastic for kids. Great park for families and bringing your dog too!

Very huge park with variety of flowers and so many ginkgo trees. The entry fee is 450 yen per person per day. We went to see the cosmos matsuri and were very tired after roaming for more than 3 hours. Bicycles are available on rent for ease of transportation within the park however there may be a long waiting time on weekends or holidays. The photos came out very nice and my spouse was really happy. The Japanese garden within the park is really wonderful.

Almost three months, we have been waiting for enjoying the autumn beauty in this park. Finally we visited here!!! A eye-catching scenery, many things to watch, and for it’s full of beauty, I will obviously recommend this place for seeing the best view of Autumn. I don't know how it looks in other seasons, but you should obviously visit if you want to enjoy the Autumn scenery. Though, you have to buy Ticket, obviously because it’s a beautiful place and need big amount for maintain cost, but I was shock as I have to buy ticket for two times. From 9 to 4:30, you need to buy a ticket of 450 yen(adults) for enjoying the day scenery. But for enjoying the night, which was more attractive, you have to buy a ticket of 1200 yen(adults). Though if you buy the ticket from their website, you can save 200 yen as you have to pay 1000 yen!
Whatever, for it’s attractive view, I think it wasn’t a waste of money project for me!!

Beautiful park. Give it 5/5. There were lot of lovely places to be visited in the park like for example; The Japanese Garden, the walk to the Japanese garden through the entrance (at daytime), etc. But you should boost the park at daytime AND night because in the day some spots are beautiful and in night the remaining spots are beautiful (like the illuminations). The park had boating, snack restaurants and Segways- (available and enjoyed in day only). There are many more places to visit but you should come in day to enjoy the whole park. Overall this park is a 4.9.
Recommendation to come here- 89-97%.
Sayama Inariyama Prefectural Park, formerly a part of Johnson military base and now given back to Japan, offers a tranquil atmosphere with its jogging circuit, barbecue area and seasonal tulips and cherry blossoms. The park is particularly beautiful during cherry blossom season when they hold festivals with food vans available. Free parking is also available on site.

Yakyū Inari Shrine is a sacred Shinto site renowned for its ornamental votive tablets and expansive peony garden. This venerable shrine, with over 1300 years of history, features a temple, gardens and even a playground. An unusual feature are the prayer plaques shaped like wooden baseball bats and amulets shaped like baseballs that they sell. During New Year's celebrations, giant ema sporting Chinese zodiac animals are on display.
Since the word "Yakyu" corresponds to baseball, many baseball boys and girls, as well as people who enjoy baseball as a hobby, come to visit. Of course, it is also possible to visit as a Shichi-Go-San, and is crowded with visitors on holidays.

(Translated by Google) It's a quiet and peaceful place.
You don't often hear about shrine maidens being there during lunch to give you amulets, unless it's a shrine that is representative of the local area.
I think it has such a long history and is loved by the local community.
The carvings are also very nice.
The elaborate expressions and powerful sculptures are a must-see.

Musashi Kyuryo National Government Park is a large park with seasonal flower gardens, plum tree forests, adventure courses, trampolines, and cycle paths. There are multiple fields in the park that require ample time to explore fully. The park offers various amenities such as walking grounds, bike paths, dog runs and rest areas for visitors to enjoy. Entrance fee costs 450 yen which makes it an affordable destination for hiking and trekking activities.
Good for hiking trekking. I felt relaxed. Please visit once when you around saitama ken

Beautifully-landscaped park. Gardens with sculptures, pond, gurgling creek, open fields, bike route, paved and unpaved strolling paths.
Small enough park to walk all over, perfect for spending half a day or so.
Nice place for family, friends, couple, pets for relaxing & enjoying nature.
Would like to come back for evening lighting for garden/sculpture viewing.
If you feel more active, bike rental available, 450 yen for 3 hours. Lots of short stretches of moderate rolling hills on winding, paved route.
Fairly small park but the bike route feels wild with nature.
Plenty vending machines, bathrooms, cafes, and a few food trucks.
Fair parking, 650 yen, entire day.
Takes credit/debit card, but some spots cash only.

This park is huge!! Could return multiple times to see it all. Lots of events and with changing seasons even more to see. Wonderful.
David Kirwan — Google review
It's a huge park.
When we went there, three types of flowers were in bloom.
The fields are so far apart from each other, so you'd need a lot of time to cover everything. We arrived late so it's on us that we did not get to see everything.
It's a very good park. Lots of places to rest, limitless walking grounds, a really nice bike path and a dog run.
¥450 entrance fee.
Jen Marquez — Google review
You need a complete one day to enjoy the most of this park. The entrance fee to the park itself is not that much (450 yen) but car parking is expensive(700 yen)! Though there are cheaper parking spaces available (not official) nearby they get full immediately so be sure to go early. Some are available at 100 yen also.
Visited the park in October and April. They have different flowers on display near the West gate depending on the season. In April, Nemophila, poppies and tulips were in full bloom.
Be sure to check which parking is closer to which attraction. Be ready to walk a lot. Although bus service is available, it is not that frequent.

This is a very large park. I’m going to summer time so that I visit only poolside. Pool is free but parking and park entry are not free.

If you're going here I recommend buying the Set Tickets from Tobu. It's available in the eMot app and you can use it from Ikebukuro. It's a set of Roundtrip Train Tickets, Bus Tickets to the park and also the Entrance Fee. Total of around 1700yen.
The whole park was big so need a comfortable shoes to roam around the park. They have different Flower Gardens depends on the Season. Went during May this are the flowers there.

This place is so good! I recommend to rent a bike here. We can ride around the park, since the park is huge. I went to this park in spring. There are three type of flowers; lupine, nemophila and poppy. The entrance fee is ¥450 and rent a bike is around ¥400/ 3 hours. I really like this place!

I travel a lot and been many places , many cable cars . This one is my second worst overpriced cable car after Porto in Portugal cable car. Whole little village is basically made up o car parking places with nobody there to park , with probably 50 tourists a day as whole cable car attraction is Shadowed by scam of expensive parking, difficult to get there and once you there you have to climb steep steps up for about 1km then to find out that cable car runs from nowhere to nowhere that cost ¥1120 return and only runs for 3 min. No views on going up as car surrounded by trees on both sides. Not sure bout other reviews as probably made by locals and to prove how bad there is and badly managed, place was absolutely empty . I was on cable car alone , with no tourist to bee seen anywhere as like myself who drove to the place to find out overpriced carparks and people turning around and going away. I did managed to park for free by police station and had to walk quite a bit . Even is someone decides to go there keep in mind that it is not for older people or who is unfit as getting to cable car alone takes most of your energy and whole village is ran by Micky mouse
You need to get there after passing lots of stairs. It is little tiring but fun to see Japanese style shops. The signs on the stairs are encouraging and fun.

Mount Takao, also known as Takaosan, is a 599-meter-tall peak located within an hour of Shinjuku station in Tokyo. It has been a pilgrimage site for over 1,200 years and offers a mix of traditional Japanese culture and natural beauty. Visitors can enjoy hiking trails, a funicular railway, and the opportunity to visit the Yakuo-in temple. The summit provides stunning views of Tokyo and Mount Fuji on clear days.
There is a cable car or ski lift that takes you near the summit. In addition, there is a beautiful, paved path from the cable car station to the summit. The path to the summit is easy for everyone. And of course, you get to enjoy the unpaved mountain trails! Religious facilities create a solemn atmosphere near the summit. With a good selection of restaurants, this is the perfect place for a casual hike up the mountain!
Rintaro — Google review
We went for a casual hike to Takao-san. Super easy to get to via the Keio line from Shinjuku station. Make sure to grab the special/limited express train to get to Takaosanguchi station a little faster. After that it's a short (but super crowded) walk, starting at the right of the station, and up to the cable car station at the base of the mountain.
We went up the Inariyama trail which starts to the left of the cable car station entrance. A little steep here and there but a very enjoyable walk up. The summit was very crowded and views were so-so, would advise taking a quick look and then spending more time on the trails. We took the Summit loop (trail 5) around the top and descended via Suspension bridge trail (trail 4), did the Kasumidai loop (trail 2) and then switched to Biwa waterfall (trail 6) for the rest of the way down.
These trails avoid the crowds on trails 1 (Omotesando) and 3 (Katsura forest), and are really enjoyable to walk. Going much earlier in the morning is the best way to avoid crowds but there are certainly ways to minimize it by taking some of the 'harder' or 'steeper' routes which shouldn't be a challenge for most people at an average fitness level. Would recommend outdoor/hiking shoes, sneakers are fine as long as you don't mind them getting dirty.
At the cable car station at the foot of the mountain, there are a lot of Japanese food stalls, worth trying and to support the local economy. With a nice clean park nearby, it's worth enjoying a small bite to eat and a local beer after a nice day out on the trails.

This mountain is great for moderate hiking. There are both safe trails and dangerous trails for adventurous people. The scene at the top of the mountain is picturesque. There are some food stores and drink vending machines along the way so you do not have to worry about those. For those who wanted to use the cable lift here, it gets crowded at times so be prepared to wait.

Only 45min by train from Shinjuku Station, Takao Mountain is a great option for a hike in the nature. I suggest to get to Takaosan-guchi station of Keio Line (there is also JR line, but it is far form the start of the hiking trail). There are different routes to get to the top, but I suggest to take the alternative routes and not the pain, paved one, since is its very crowded and steep. You can get to the top in around 2 hours. I also suggest the sento (hot public bath) at the Takaosan-guchi Station. I also enjoyed the monkey zoo and the Tengu temple. In summertimes, there is also a beer garden but it was way too crowded.

Great place to spend a day in nature, just an hour away from Tokyo. Several different trails to get to the summit. I found trail 6 to be quite pleasant, and easy, with the exception of the last stretch before the summit, which has a lot of steps.
Trail 1 might seem the easiest one, as it’s paved and half the path can be done on the cable car or chair lift. However, the path is quite steep, and in my opinion there is too many people going up and down all the time, which in my opinion, doesn’t allow to experience the beautiful nature of the mountain.
Javier G. Visiedo — Google review
Moderate hike, aside from the summit, some highlights were the beautiful hydrangeas in bloom, the giant ancient cedar trees and the visit to the shrine.
Recommend getting the round trip discounted tickets and cable car/chair lift package from Shinjuku station !

I decided to climb Mount Takao this past weekend. I had brought a backpack with my overnight gear, camera, laptop, snacks, and a couple of bottles of water. My intention was to put everything except the water in a locker at the train station but all of the lockers were taken. I had no choice but to carry my heavy load with me.
You can probably guess what happened. With each ascending step, the backpack felt heavier and heavier. After about an hour, I was sweating profusely and breathing hard. When I stopped to rest and drink some water, I noticed that the lift station for the ropeway was close by.
I felt a bit of shame taking the lift down the mountain but I told myself it was better than potentially coming down in an ambulance.
There’s a nice onsen next to the Keio station. I relaxed there while waiting for my group to finish the climb.

Very scenic hike. I took trail 6 up and it gets a bit challenging near the top. Then walk down trail 1 to pass through the temples and buy a souvenir. Would definitely come again in warmer weather to hike the other trails.

It is one of the best day trips from Tokyo I did!
We got there by train which is easily accessible. We decided for the chair lift up (a cable car is available as well) and walked the remaining way up to the summit. Prices for both are low. It is easy to walk though it might be still exausting, when your body isn't used to much activity. We intended to walk down.
The summit offers such an awesome view of the mountainous nature around and even free view of Fuji-san as long as the weather is good enough. We didn't know about Fuji views and were so overwhelmed by it! What a luck we had.
Way down we choose Trail 6. It seemed to be a nice walk through the woods at first. Then a staircase down the steepest parts and down the dale we reached the beginnings of the small stream that results in Biwa Falls. The trail is not easy even desending when you're no trained person. The trail within the dale leads directly through the water. You'll have to walk through it or have to walk from stone to stone keeping shoes dry. This continues some time and offers an awesome view like going through rainforest. I loved it. Around half the way the trail continues as a small path so walking gets easier. White sneaker won't stay white here.
Totally worth the hike. Restaurants at the starting point offer you food to get your energy levels (re)filled.
Takao-san is more crowded than e.g. Mitake-san, but definitely offers the better view.

A offbeat hike in Tokyo. The journey through the suburbs to Mount Takao is very scening and this is a great spot considering access from the city center. As we reached the pinnacle, I was pleasantly surprised to discover a fantastic restaurant perched at the summit. It was an unexpected treat that added a touch of luxury to our outdoor escapade. On the descent, we meandered through a myriad of enchanting shrines, each one a testament to Tokyo's rich cultural heritage.

Cape Manazuru is a picturesque location with a rocky beach and tide pools, surrounded by boulders and cliffs. Access to the beach is through steep stairs, with free parking available nearby. There are paths leading down to the water for exploring the ocean and enjoying the beautiful view. However, one section of the main path around the cliff is damaged and not safe to access. The area is peaceful and quiet, making it an ideal spot for relaxation amidst natural beauty.
You can use the parking 5 minutes from this place, it’s free the one 1 minute from this place cost 1.000 Yen.
It’s very beautiful and I can recommend it. It’s always open and has toilets.
A cafe you can also find, but it was closed, because it was the 1st January.
So if you want to enjoy the sea and relax a bit, I highly recommend this place. Around 1,5 hours from Tokyo.

Great scenery with lots rocks and good ocean. There are a pair of rocks with a rope attached between them far off in the distance led by a path of ocean and rocks. I do not know the cultural significance to these rocks but i assume it has to do with jesus christ. Getting to the main rocks off in the distance can be quite a hurdle because the path to get there is led by a pathway of slippery rocks that will lead to certain death if slipped off. Very dangerous to get to the other side but there are some tools in the area to help you reach such as a bamboo stick. Before passing the rocks it is recommended to train for 10 years using the bamboo sticks to strengthen your body to be able to withstand the extreme waters.

There's free parking nearby and paths leading down to the water. The main path around the cliff is damaged at one point, so it's not safe to access. You can still see a lot, and there's a cafe at the top of the lookout. It's a beautiful area that's quiet and peaceful. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area. The shrine out on the rocks might be accessible during the right time of year if the tide is right?

Cape Manazuru is part of the Manazuru Peninsula Prefectural Nature Park and when the weather is clear, offers wonderful views of the Izu Peninsula, Boso Peninsula (Chiba Prefecture), and the Izu Seven Islands.
Cape Manazuru offers several attractions including a seashell museum, gift shop, cafes, coastal and forest walking trails, camping, fresh seafood, scuba diving schools, boat tours, and more.
My photo shoot at Cape Manazaru was focused primarily on Mitsuishi, a group of 3 large rocks just off the coast of the cape. The two larger rocks (sea stacks) are united by a shimenawa rope, and if you walk out to the rocks during low tide, you can also see a red torii gate on the larger rock. Although the Mitsuishi rocks are not as famous as the Meoto-Iwa, or the Married Couple Rocks, in the sea off Futami in Mie Prefecture, the Mitsuishi rocks are still a very popular destination to visit on the morning of New Year's Day to watch the sun as it rises from under the rope between the two rocks.
Check out my Pix4Japan YouTube channel for footage I took at this location: Seascape Photography in Japan: "Cape Manazuru in Kanagawa Prefecture"

Very beautiful cape with wedded rocks. Next to an ancient forest, it is scenic, you can swim nearby and has a little museum and shop nearby. The shop does not accept credit card or IC card.

Cool rock formations at the beach. Twin/couple rock formation further at sea connected to the beach by other rocks. Can be crossed during lowtide.
Probably a good spot for long exposure photography during dawn or in the evening.

I was more excited than I expected and even bought some more snacks on board.
On a clear day, you could clearly see the Izu Islands and Miura area, so it was very beautiful.
I think 30 minutes is just right, neither too short nor too long.
Even if it's sunny, if the wave conditions are bad, you may not be able to go out, so I think it's a good idea to call and check the operation status before going!

Nice boat ride for manazuru peninsula for 30 min.
It goes through north side of peninsula. You can see the shrine at the end of the peninsula pretty close.
You can feed seagulls-shrimp snack (50yen) or dried bread. Recommend buying shrimp snack.
When I visited, the wave was quite big, I and my friends got sea sickness a bit.

Odawara Castle History Museum is located in an area with a rich history dating back to prehistoric times. The region was once a bustling castle town under the rule of the Hojo clan, until their defeat by Toyotomi Hideyoshi in 1590. The museum offers interactive exhibits that provide insights into the Japanese Sengoku period and the castle's significance. While not a traditional museum, it offers activities suitable for children, including engaging experiences like Ninja Training.
We had an amazing Ninja Training with the Ninjas of Odawara. It was truly a special experience! We highly recommend it! We booked thru GetYourGuide. So much fun!

Cute. Quite suitable for kids (?5 to 12?) and it entertained mine for a good while.
Not a museum so if you are into that, this isn’t the place.
But activities for kids will keep them occupied for awhile and they will have fun.
There were afew minders around to help with the Japanese instructions (into English, as best as they can - which is good enough!)
Cute toilet signs :)

Lusca shopping mall is a multi-level retail space situated adjacent to the Odawara JR station, offering a variety of stores and eateries. The ground floor features a food market with an array of fresh food items, desserts, and souvenirs. This location provides convenience for those in need of quick train ride lunches or essential items that are not affiliated with major brands. Overall, Lusca shopping mall can provide everything necessary for shoppers without the need for big-name retailers.
Below Odawara Station is a web of many shops, restaurants, groceries to serve commuters or local residents. There are several cake shops, looked very very yummy. The flagrant of the cake is so appealing to the soul. There are also prepared food shops with ready to eat sushi, rice, etc. - there is a small area with tables and chairs for customers to sit down and eat. The grocery market carries many items to be prepared and consumed at home.

Visited some shops like Muji, the supermaket and food hall. The price of the salads (avocado tofu and scallops) gave me a shock. They cost about 2100¥ (discounted price) for small portions. They go by the weight 😂, not the stated price. Taste good though. The yakitori sticks was great too - nice grilled taste.

On the second floor there's a small market that has a great selection of cheese. If you want a really good katsu-don, there's a really good restaurant at the top of the escalator on the second floor.

Train station shopping mall. Convenient bus and taxi, nice bakery/coffee shop, bakery solid 4star, used filo when should have used choux. Restrooms are close and nice. Pretty nice Ramen-ya hidden by exit stairs, 7-eleven with nice selection of bento, but only one local selection. Best dish I had there was salmon onagiri at small store. Packaging left fresh rice and crispy seaweed, fresh that morning, good at noon.
Forrest Brewer — Google review
Easy to get to being just Infront of the station. Offers good range of shops for locals but not so good for tourists. Lacks restaurant options like other Luscas. One of the best options is that it links to the new Japanese style mall in Odawara which has better restaurants and cafes for everyone.

Since moving to Japan I try to visit here for the illumination once a year. I recommend going during cherry blossom season because the views are amazing! The themes make it all the more exciting too. I especially enjoyed the Sailor Moon theme. I recommend getting the free pass if you plan on going on multiple rides. It’s an additional ¥900. The next time I visit, I want to try the lodging and hot spring option.

The staff was very friendly and polite. Awesome customer service! But it's too expensive and, if you don't speak japanese, it'll be very hard to understand what is going on/what are you paying. I went there with my husband the last day of the light show, so we waited until it got dark to enjoy the lights and the ferris wheel, but the thing shut down before 7:30pm which was very disappointing.
The breakfast was included with the cabin rental (we paid around $55 per person), but it was a very tiny soup, sodas, coffee and bread. If you wanted to add bacon you had to pay an extra $5, so I'd definitely recommend bringing your own food (the cabin had a mini fridge).
The muscle monster looked fun! But it was closed around 3 or 4pm, so we weren't able to try it either.

This is a good place for kids adventure park. The mountain view is great especially when you ride the cable car. We arrived around lunch time so we dont have enough time and chance for all the activities, all the rides cut off time is around 5-5:30pm. The food is a little bit pricey inside. I will rate our 1day experience here 7 out of 10.

I purchased a whole day pass ticket for 4500 yen. At 15:31 (3:31 PM), I tried to ride some attractions, they did not allow me because the last time I can ride those at 15:30.
This made me very frustrated. If I buy a whole day pass, why don't they allow at least up to 5 PM?
Overall, the place is good. But I am not happy with the management.

We went there on 19 December, 2021. Beautiful place. Loved it. Some Tips:
*Try to bring foods. There is not much variety in foods or availability. Price is also high.
* We thought of roaming the park during day time but there is not much to see during day time in late December. However, there are some rides that are only available before 4pm such Muscles Monster.
*after evening all rides pass would be best value to see the illumination and also enjoy rides.

One of my favorite winter Illuminations. But if you are not fond of cold weather then late autumn or early spring will be the best time to visit. Even on sunny days evenings can get chilly. Rest assured that you will enjoy the view.. The amusement park is not top of the world but pretty nice to spend the day. The Snow paradise using fake snow was just a joke of snow slides.. The road from Tokyo using a car can get really congested on weekends so manage your time.

Mount Tō is a vast mountain range with various trail markers, stairs, and huts for climbing, hiking, and mountaineering. On weekdays, the teahouses along the trail are closed except for one at the top that also functions as a hotel where visitors can only consume cupramen and canned beer. The hike itself is challenging but can be done at a slower pace to enjoy the awe-inspiring scenery along the way.
I enjoyed this hike which it felt a bit challenging at some points but very doable for someone with not much experience in hiking.
The trail is nice with lovely views. You also have a few huts where you can buy water and other bits on your way up.
I recommend!

I have to accept this was a difficult trek😂
I took the route from okura bus stop to Tonotake, which people don’t recommend anyone because it dosen’t have any scenic view though challenging one.
I felt great after reaching the summit and I will take about 6hours if you don’t take break much.
They have cottage with restaurant so no worries
Toilet are not free you have to pay 100yen.
Tanzawa mountains are not clearly mentioned in google, so you have to get some local knowledge
From today follow odakyu line to shibuzawa station and take bus to okura bus stop they you could start your trekking
Cottage costs from 6000yen with breakfast dinner included
If you are aiming for Mt.Tanzawa itself, will take about 9hours for the trek, so be prepared.

I was hiking on a Friday, therefore it was not crowded. On weekdays, the teahouses are closed, except at the top, because that one is also a hotel. On the top i could eat only cupramen and drink a canned beer. The trail is long and demanding, but one can do it in a slow pace as well. I started hiking at around 7:30AM and finished at around 14:30, and this includes longer breaks.

It's a pretty awesome place to hike. Easy for beginners. You can take a bus right outside Mitake station, turn left, cross the road, and turn left. Or just ask the visitor centre and ask for a map.The bus is scheduled, so do take note of the time. Once you board the bus, it will take you all the way to near the cable car. You will need to walk uphill for 5 mins to reach the cable car station. Once there, I suggest you take note of the cable car timing to prepare the time to descent. After exiting the cable car station, you will need to walk for abt 10 min on a stretch of road to reach the town. To even reach the start of the walk to the shrine, you will need to cont uphill inside the town. Those who are planning for the Nanayo waterfall, you will need to go to near the shrine, and turn left, follow the sign board. Overall, you can walk 1 loop to the nanayo waterfall> rock garden> ayahiro fall> cedar trees> shrine. Spent a total of 2.5 hr or less for the route. Its steep initially will downhills and slopes then slippery rocks and icey pathways w snow, followed by gentle path back to the shrine.

This is a nice daytrip hiking to go to when staying in Tokyo. We spent our last 6 days in Tokyo again and intended to see nature spots as well. We picked Mitake san in our options before starting the journey.
From Tokyo, you can reach the valley easily by taking train. You may need to change trains depending on the city's part you're staying. Take the Chuo-zen and get off at eki. You may either take the bus for a small amount or simply walk to the cable car. We decided to walk to enjoy the mountains, the beautiful dale and nature. Though the last part of the road is pretty steep and is kind of a cardio workout, it was really worth it.
We took the cable car up. Even there the view is awesome. At it's destination, you can walk up the remaining path to the summit. It's comfortable to walk and takes around 20 mins.
Along the way you find some restaurants and houses. The way to summit is marked by signs but you need to keep the Japanese Kanji in mind as it is not always written in English. Someone tried to be funny and added English descriptions to one sign, but exchanged two summit names.
The summit has a temple and therefore is different than e.g. Takao-san. The view is nice as well and shows mountains and the city area in the background.
We liked the hiking and the area a lot, because it is less crowdy than other spots. The valley is extremely beautiful and reminded us of a slightly bigger Japanese version of the Ahrtal (Ahr river valley) in Germany.

Easily accessible by train. Good for a day trip outing. Can take the Cable cart too. Need to walk a bit to reach the Nanayo waterfall. There is a place mentioned as Rock Garden but actually there is no specific Garden such as instead the route to Ayahiro waterfall is surrounded by rocks and the water stream in between that is the Rock Garden.

Mount Mitake is about an hours drive from Tokyo. It’s a beginner hiking mountain which takes about 4 - 5 hours to hike all the from the bottom to the summit whilst visiting all the major scenic spots. It’s a little harder to get to compared to all the other mountains which means there’s less people. The autumn leaves are quite nice and there are many of those kind of trees!
Ken Liew — Google review
Amazing walk, 800 trees ish for you to count with on your hike up the mountain! It would be best to go hi vis or wear a bell so that you may be safer on the road. It is a bitumen road shared with cars. The track is maybe an hour long up and half that on the way down. I would recommend skipping he cable car if fitness and time allows!
Mind you there are other beautiful hikes once you reach the summit also.
The cable car can be reached by a bus (¥210 one way) from the station (about 100m left of the train station exit as you leave)

View from the top is good but not spectacular. It's quite a drive from Tokyo (about 90 minutes) and there isn't much you can do here. Most of the restaurants are not opened and there is literally nothing to do except visiting the shrine and sovenirs shops. I can see why this place is good for hikers but if you are a casual traveller, might make sense to miss this altogether.
Joshua Ng — Google review
It was a good hiking experience after a long break. The trail is not hard at all, most beginners can easily hike the mountain. On top of the mountain there’s a shrine. If you are lucky or well informed you can catch festivals too. The scenario is so so.

Visitors can enjoy wooden-boat cruises along the river, as well as rafting and hiking activities. This stunning natural spot is best visited during spring or summer, but not recommended during winters.
Saitama is quite far, but definitely a unique experience! Its beauty and simplicity makes the place even better. It’s also a great place for adventure, as there are many different things to explore.

Nice and the view is wonderful especially if it is not crowded. It is not allowed to dip in the waters though.

very cool place.
didn’t go for boat trip due to cold weather, but walking around the river was worthwhile enough!
not raining season so waterfall was rather tiny, tho the patterned rocks are absolutely stunning.

The river and the view are so beautiful. It's autumn so you can see colorful trees. Love it.

A very nice and peaceful place, suitable for family outings in Saitama. In addition, there are many services there such as boating, kayaking, etc. The food in that area seems to be famous for Soba because there are quite a few Soba shops nearby. The most beautiful season is Spring and Fall so make sure you come here around that time.

Very cool place to go for a cheeky swim with friends. The water is nice and fresh. Strong current but great to be carried away alone with your thoughts. Also there are a couple of tall rocks to jump off of.

Beautiful Boat ride cost is 2000 yen per person. Well worth the price. At the end of the boat ride. There is a free shuttle bus taking you back to the train station. We went there late am on weekdays so was not too busy....

A breathtaking river boat ride that lasts about 20 minutes. It starts around the Nagatoro train station and drops you off about 100m away from the starting location. The ride itself has calm and turbulent portions. The scenery at the end of the boat ride is majestic.
Victor — Google review
Going down the river was thrilling and I was able to see beautiful scenery.
Yuko Koda — Google review
It is an unusual terrain with a series of huge rock formations. There are many people near the boat pier, but as you move away from that area, the number of people decreases. It is a very relaxing place rich in nature. The kids enjoyed their rocky adventure. We can find many tadpoles and frogs here. The view of the boats on the river is also beautiful. The boats are very popular and you may have to wait in line for quite a while to get tickets.
Rintaro — Google review
Beautiful place to enjoy the nature. But not really recommended to visit in winters (of course you can just mark it off on the checklist). Preferably go in spring/summer. DON'T do the boat ride. It's so useless. 1000 yen for a 20 minutes ride. They may shorten the ride according to them but will not change the price. NOT WORTH. Other than that, great place to enjoy nature and good food.

The Hodosan Shrine is located at the base of Mount Hodo and features ornate carvings. Visitors can take a nearby ropeway to reach the summit. The shrine is well-cared for, clean, and adorned with colorful charms and goshuin books. During the robai festival, a picture of the temple surrounded by snow and robai was featured in the Goshuincho book. A water basin filled with flowers adds to its beauty.
もはや説明不要ですが極彩色で彩られた拝殿は見応え抜群です。

There is no need for any explanation, but the richly colored worship hall is a sight to behold.
The deities enshrined here are Emperor Jimmu, Oyamazumi, and Fire God, and it is an incredible power spot where the spring where Japan Takeru descended to purify himself still remains.

Absolutely worth coming to see the plum blossoms! It was my first time witnessing such beautiful and fragrant plum blossoms – truly delightful. Taking the ropeway round trip costs 600 yen, and if you come by car, parking is 500 yen. I highly recommend coming here to relax; starting from January, you can enjoy the plum blossoms, and they should be in full bloom by February.

This shrine is nice. I liked that the water basin was filled with flowers. They had really pretty charms and goshuin books. My friend and I went during the robai festival and the goshuinchō had a picture of the temple surrounded by snow and robai. It was really pretty.

I couldn't get a goshuin book written, so I bought a hanshi paper.

Beautiful, well-maintained shrine. Momiji making it even better. 10-15 min walk from Nagatoro station, slightly uphill. We went on a Saturday morning a bit earlier than most of the crown. At around 11am as we were departing, more people are pouring in so I think it can get crowded on weekend peak hours.

Another top shrine visited in Japan, that although it is in popular Nagatoro near tourtisty Chichibu, it felt empty. The setting of it being at the beggining of a hill but in the middle of the woods made it feel very special. It is also very well taken for.
Juan Tomas Rodriguez — Google review
A really well cared for, clean and beautiful. Free parking at the bottom of the shrine. Not very stroller friendly because if the stairs and pebbles so baby carry or walking is best.
Danielle M — Google review
Quiet place. The shrine is very beautiful and same with all places in Japan very clean and organize. A lot of parking spots. A quick tour will be sufficient.
Kevin Rona — Google review
Hodosan shrine enshrines the Emperor Jimmu who founded Japan. I instantly felt an atmosphere, enhanced by the shinto music playing on the grounds, as we approached the torii of the shrine.
The benevolence of the shrine is believed to be protection from disasters. It is a common place for hikers to pay homage as one of the three Kami (Gods / Deity) enshrined here is a mountain deity. But it is also because the shrine has a sub branch at the top of Mt Hodo - hikers pray at the base shrine and then climb to the top of Mt Hodo and devote there too.
The architecture of the almost 2000 year old shrine is magnificent. The various auxiliary shrines are impressive too. And the grounds are beautiful. It is easily accessible by public transport too, as you can walk up from Nagatoro station in about 10 to 15 minutes.

Visitors can take an aerial tramway to the summit to enjoy the stunning views and vibrant blooms.
Lots of steps to get there, but the view from the mountain is worth the effort. Marvelous!

A colorful shrine, mountain hiking, richly flavored mushroom soup (at the entrance to the cable car), and a cable car ride to the top to see the plum blossoms.
This early in the season (end of February) it’s mainly the yellow plum blossoms, but by mid-March the pink, red, and white blossoms should be in full bloom.
Have a bowl of fresh mushroom soup before riding the cable car and if you’re still hungry there is charcoal roasted ayu (a river fish similar to trout). Or, wait till you get to the top of the mountain and have a bowl of soba, udon, or ramen.
Access by car (about 90 minutes north of Tokyo in Saitama Prefecture) or by train (free shuttle from the train station to the cable car base). Makes for a nice day trip, plenty of outdoor open space, and if you have youngsters they’ll enjoy the cable car ride).

Enjoying the quick mountain trekking at the Mt. Hodo in Nagatoro area. It was so good to have the curry lunch in the Trangia messtins. It was amazing to see the autumn colors on the surface of hot coffee and the winter cherry blossom.

Gorgeous autumn colors and there were groves of plum (ume) trees on the top of the mountain so spring would be lovely, too! Highly recommend it.

Lake Okutama is a picturesque man-made reservoir nestled amidst the stunning mountains and verdant forests of Chichibu Tama National Park, making it a popular day trip destination from Tokyo. The area offers various activities such as hiking trails, scenic overlooks, and an information center known as "Yama-no-Furusato Mura." Visitors can enjoy camping facilities, log cabins, BBQs, guided hiking tours, and workshops for crafting activities.
Definitely an must visit place if you are Japan. One of the beautiful places I visited. Prefered time to visit is autumn. You can get busses from Okutama station to Lake Okutama. The journey with mountains valleys and autumn colours will be amazing to see. Get down at the dam and spend sometime there. But the real view comes later take the bus from the dam again and get down at Ideno bus stop. This place seems like no where but if you walk a little 100m from the bus stop you can find a opening that will lead you down hill and directly to the bank of the lake. You can get the best view of Lake and the surrounding mountains from here. It was stony and dangerous but also exciting and thrilling.
VINEETH AVVARU — Google review
Nice lake to walk about. However, you have to take note of the bus timing if you are travelling by bus. It is not that frequent. Overall, you can spend less than 1 hour here. I have included the bus timing
1. From okutama station.
2. From lake okutama.

I came here by bus from Okutama JR station. I stopped at Lake Okutama “奥多摩湖”. Firstly, I surprised about the big lake and it’s beautiful deep blue color. Then I climbed the observatory to see the whole scene of the Lake, the Ogouchi dam, the mountains. It was a bit scary to look down from the window but it was a great view.
There is a good atmosphere and a beautiful nature here. I was healed so much from my busy days.

Weekend getaway from Tokyo 🗼. The floating bridge is good experience in a calm environment.
anc 666 — Google review
I hiked up to the lake from Okutama station, took about 3 hours, then had lunch and a beer on the other side of the dam. The views were absolutely stunning!
I then ventured around the lake. My target was the pontoon bridge, which I reached after about 3 hours of walking. All flat, so not challenging, but I was already tired from the hike. I ran out of water about halfway through, and there was no opportunity to get some more, all of the taps along the way weren't fit for drinking. I think taking a 2 litre bottle should be enough for a hot day.
Last bus from near the temple is about 5:30 I think, so I was in a bit of a rush at the end, and unfortunately, I didn't get to explore the temple.
Still, keep an eye out for monkeys, the newborns can be spotted in late spring/early summer!

Oku-tama mukashi michi trail, this was really beautiful and good for the trekkers who don’t want crowd, it is of 10kms trek and on return you can get through bus from okutamako and you may not find much restaurants so pack for foods, if anything else kindly contact me.

Once the cherry blossom tree loses its flowers, the rest of the foliage on the surrounding mountainsides will start to come alive in vibrant hues of green and blue.

Hinohara Tokyo Citizens' Forest, located on Mt Mito, is a forest therapy destination that offers various hiking routes through tranquil mountain woods. Visitors can experience the Japanese concept of forest bathing by immersing themselves in nature and relieving stress while soaking in the soothing sights and sounds. The Waterfall Course is recommended for those who want to try forest bathing. The park features hiking trails ranging from 0.9 to 7.
A beautiful and interesting forest of mixed trees including old beech trees, which are rare for the Kanto area. Accessibility is a factor in how appealing it will be for foreign visitors. There's a special rapid train on the Chuo Line that runs directly to Musashi-Itsukaichi station on weekends and holidays. Otherwise, transfer is required. From there, there is limited bus service to the forest -- only three buses in the a.m. But they run multiple buses to accommodate all the hikers April to November, so you're generally able to sit for the rather long and winding -- though scenic -- one-hour and about 900 yen ride. All those hikers seem to disappear somehow, though -- the trails are only moderately busy on big holidays and autumn leaf season. There are easy one-hour hikes and longer 4-5 hour moderately strenuous ones requiring proper footwear. At 1500 meters, it's also cooler and more prone to rain than Tokyo proper. There is a visitor center and two places to get food -- mostly typical noodles and curry. With a waterfall, various wildflowers and birds, a few good views, and fresh air, it's a nice place to experience nature if you're willing to put in the effort.

Located near the end of twisty Okutama road, the place serves as a rest area. They have a few shops, bus stops so that you can take a bus home if you wreck your car or bike :-) There're a couple of other parking along the way, and they would give you much more beautiful mountain and lake views, but they're much smaller and not paved.

It’s a biker’s paradise, there are plenty of nice twisty roads you can enjoy. This is a perfect location to set as a meeting point.
