This is amazing parking place in the middle of the sea . The view is spectacular and you will forget it's just a parking area. Restaurants and shops are also available. I'm happy to stop here ☺️ 🙂

We only happened to be here just because we were hungry and needed to stop somewhere. Whoever thought of making a ship as a rest stop right in the middle of the sea was a genius! This place is not only a place where you can eat, it's also a place to relax and unwind right in front of the sea! They also have lounge chairs and souvenir shops where you can sit and watch the sunset. It will make you want to stay in Japan longer because unique places like this can easily capture your heart and will make you want to explore the rest of Japan! So whenever you're on the road in Japan, be aware of places like this and make sure to stop and check them out because you might not have another chance next time.

This is the service area of the Aqualine Expressway, which connects Kanagawa Prefecture, Kawasaki City and Chiba Prefecture. There are many restaurants, game centers for children, Starbucks, coffee shops, souvenir shops and a wonderful 360 degree view. If the weather is good, the view of Mt.Fuji is very beautiful. Clam dishes, a specialty of Chiba Prefecture, are famous, and conger eel dishes from Tokyo Bay are also a dream. How happy it is to have lunch with a wonderful view. Please try it.

This is one of the most unique and beautiful service/parking areas you will ever see. It’s an artificial island. Be very careful because it’s very windy here, use extreme caution when opening your car door. It’s very beautiful day or night and there are plenty of shops and restaurants. Be sure to visit the free theater to hear an explanation about this place in English. (It cycles through a few languages so you might have to wait a little while) Travel idea: Stop by here and then to the Kisarazu premium outlets in whichever order you choose. This place is must see.

The Tokyo Bay Aqua Line, or Trans-Tokyo Bay Expressway as it was originally known, was first surveyed in 1966. Its purpose was to reduce the travel time between the two industrial regions, Kawasaki City (Kanagawa) and Kisarazu City (Chiba).
It’s basically a toll highway consisting of two 10km-long underwater tunnels through the Kawasaki waters, one 5km-long bridge over Chiba waters, and two man-made islands in between. Umihotaru offers a huge parking area and a ventilation tower called The Tower of Wind .My favorite place..Good view,Good service,Good squid 🦑

Great variety of food to eat here. Parking seems a little daunting when you first arrive but is a breeze with parking attendants to show you where to go. Awesome views over Tokyo Bay. Was amazing to come out of the long Tokyo Bay tunnel to find out transitions into this island and then a bridge.

Had the Tokyo Wan Aqua-Line Expressway Undersea Tunnel Adventure Tour. Registration details at their website. We joined the 10 am morning session. We learned how the bridge–tunnel expressway came about. There’re walking & climbing stairs involved. At the end of the tour, we were given some souvenirs & discount coupons to use at the mall.
We took taxi there from Tokyo Station. About 30 mins trip. However, there’s no taxi for hire to go back. Staff advised it’s best to take bus to Kawasaki Station. She also brought us to the bus stop. Thank you very much for taking care of us. We had a wonderful time. ☺️

The Shin-Yokohama Ramen Museum is a unique destination that offers a nostalgic experience of old Japan and the world of ramen. It features a traditional street food court with shops offering samples of ramen dishes from different regions, allowing visitors to taste and learn about the history of this beloved dish. The museum also has a theatre where performances about the history of ramen noodles are showcased.
This is my first visit, i was like kind of disappointed with the first floor but the real fun was at the ground floor, you could check my pics that the whole narutobashi old street is been recreated with many ramen shops.
The place was completely amazing and for a moment felt like I was in Meiji period.
As usual many were standing in queue for the food and old shops and theatre was there, it could bring a smile to your face and treat for your eyes.
Worth visiting it was 380yen only and please give a try

This place is awesome. Didn't think it was that big inside and the set up is so cool. It's very hard to go to all different ramen shops in 1 day. It might take a couple of times to complete the whole thing. Lots of old style antique stuff to see. I think bringing your family and friends will be very enjoyable. Definitely we will be going again.
Masami Quarles — Google review
Second visit here in a decade and it hasn't changed. American family visiting. Tickets can be purchased at the museum door and are pretty cheap. If you plan to visit often (working in the area and will be doing lunch or dinners here), the annual pass is well worth it.
There are several options for different styles of ramen to eat. The couple of times I've been there are ticket machines to select and pay for your meal. There was a slight wait at lunch time but you can enjoy the atmosphere.
The place is themed for old Japan (think WW2 era) and it's really well done. It has an old street feel to it that makes it feel authentic.
The Ramen Museum is upstairs (where you enter) that has the history of ramen and lots of great information about it's origins and growth.
Matthew Sharpe — Google review
Truly amazing experience, it is definitely recommended to plan a trip here if you are anywhere in Tokyo or Yokohama. Calling it a "Ramen Museum" only is too humble, it is much more than that. The top floor truly is a museum on the history on ramen - even tackling the question whether ramen is Chinese or Japanese and discussing the ramen blackmarket during shortages - but the multiple underground floors are a travel through time 60 years into the past. The ramen you can buy there are authentic, historic recipes and you can get a small serving so that you can try multiple restaurants. The atmosphere is very retro, making the entire hall an exhibition on how Tokyo used to look a few decades ago. There were old buildings, posters, products, vehicles, vending machines, games, and more, it was so fascinating. Very cheap for what you get to see but you are expected to buy at least 1 serving of ramen, which you should do anyway.
Tobias Laß — Google review
Learning about the history of ramen was interesting. There are many ramen restaurants in the Japan street section. We had to wait for a little bit to enter one of the restaurants but it was worth it.
Ryan Yeung — Google review
Very reasonable ticket entry (¥450 adults), inside there, few Ramen places that you can choose ( line up and pay upfront). A unique place, feels like an old Japanese town. You can also make your own cup noodles and choose your own toppings.
Synthia Zheng — Google review
We were able to enjoy this museum in English! 😃 Decent price and cool atmosphere. We learned so much about ramen and it’s background. However, the magic is down stairs. It is like walking into a time machine and what a site it was to behold.

For the price, it is a very nice place to visit, but there isn't much else in the area and it is a good 10 minute or so walk from Shin-Yokohama station. The "old Japan" set up inside mocking an aged town was really neat! They did a really good job of capturing the past. I recommend people to avoid going on a weekend. The wait for ramen is very long, no matter which restaurant you go to inside.
Vinny F — Google review
This place has a lot of ramen types on offer and the prices were reasonable too! Don't make the mistake I made, if you want to get the most out of the experience get a small ramen bowl so you can go visit another store to try their ramen.
The underground aesthetic of old Japan street food is really awesome and the place is rich of history about ramen. It was tourist friendly and because we went on a weeknight it wasn't that busy at all. If I go back to Japan I am definitely visiting again.
Tickets for an adult were very cheap at 380 yen. I also put their current prices in the review pictures.

It was an amazing place in Shin-Yokohama.
I don’t know the exact Showa Period but it was totally the same as my image.
You can eat various Ramen if you want there!!
There are also mini-size of Ramen so you can eat two or three types of Ramen and compare them.
However, you only can use 'cash' there except when you buy some souvenirs at the shop.
I went there on weekdays so it was not crowded.
Yuki (Kevin) — Google review
Very cool place to check out, and the ramen is excellent! The basement is the best feature with the entire area being historically recreated to look like the time when ramen first gained traction in Japan. There is also a Ramen Lab where you can essentially choose ingredients and craft your own personalized instant ramen bowl, which you can then watch the Ramen Scientists put it together and seal it with your chosen image on the label.
Artianna — Google review
Very informational museum, all in japanese or english. Had many cool facts and history about ramen, although part of the 1930-40s was skipped over. The ramen-making shop was cool but not really worth it unless you want the bragging rights. The actual restaurants on the basement floor are AMAZING. Best ramen I’ve ever eaten. Although, each person has to get one bowl (can’t share one bowl between two people) and each shop is a different type of ramen. You can’t leave with the ramen so if you go with anyone, you have to mutually agree on the ramen you want to try if you want to eat together.
nex — Google review
This is a unique experience. It a throwback to ramen shops of days of old. They did a great job on the ambiance,it just feels right. I tried two different shops. It's kind of hit and miss. The first ramen bowl was good but the second shop was subpar. There are probably concentrate on a good product and not the experience. All in all it was easy to get to and I would recommend.
Bruce Ferjulian — Google review
The museum is pretty nice, but the main attractions are the restaurants in the bottom.
There are excellent and variated ramen options from different parts of Japan, even lots of locals come to eat here. Just be patient because some restaurants have wait lines from 5 to 60 mins wait
Danny Juarez — Google review
Really cool place to go visit and to get some very good ramen. A lot of different ramen restaurants to choose from inside there where some lines at most of the restaurants though that were a good 30 minute wait so be prepared for that. To get in there is a small fee to enter the museum but very worth it. A lot of cool things to see on the museum side and the restaurant area is made to look like an actual city which is very cool. You can get half size and smaller size ramen at all the restaurants that way you can try multiple different types which is cool. They sell dry packaged ramen bowls you can buy and cook at home in the gifts shops too. Good ramen and very cool place to visit and experience definitely worth a day trip here if you are in the Yokohama area.
Anthony Michalski — Google review
It was a rainy day when we visited the museum. The queue to get tickets to enter the museum was short. However, when you visit the levels where all the ramen restaurants are, the queue for each stall is around 30 mins to 1 hour. There was a stall that gave us a queue ticket so that we don't have to queue physically. Otherwise, the rest you need to be there. You can walk around to visit the mini shops at a level above the ramen level. There's a shop that sells candies while the other sells desserts. If you're vegetarian, I do not recommend visiting. There is only one restaurant that serves vegetarian, and once they sell out, they don't serve anymore.
Lea L — Google review
Cute place to visit, range of ramen to try from different stalls, they have some seasonal stores. Other than that, there’s a small museum section to learn about the types and history. Cool photo spots too for olden alleys.
Leong Xinyi — Google review
This is a must go place if you ever visit yokohama. The entry fee is cheap (300 yen) for the museum, and there's a ramen district that is decorated like the older days of ramen shops. There you can have famous ramens that are known in japan in that museum.
There are ramen making workshops offered there and you need to book an appointment ahead of time.
The most fun part will be to build your own ramen bowl. You can customize your own lid with pictures from your phone which is very interesting. The price range from (800 to 1300 yen)depends on how you customized it.
Amanda O.L — Google review
Absolutely amazing place for anyone who likes ramen, the basement is stunning and looks so cool, they really put effort into it. You learn about ramen history while actually experiencing historic ramen places, it's really cool! If I lived nearby I would eat there often.
Frédéric Laferté-Coutu — Google review
We arrived around 8 PM on a Saturday and it wasn’t packed. The most we waited at a ramen shop was 15 minutes and the shop was the smallest one.
One day entrance fee is ¥450 so we opted for the 6 month pass for ¥500. The first floor is a history of ramen, the souvenir shop, and an area where they’ll prepare a custom cup of noodle for you.
All the restaurants are in the basement level. There is a mezzanine level with ramen and other shops such as candy shop and bars. The whole interior is decorated like retro Japanese neighborhood. It was nice but didn’t feel authentic, especially not the fake sky.
All the ramen shops serve a mini bowl for you to sample the ramen. However they require every adult in the party to get their own bowl. Each mini bowl is about ¥650 so it can add up to more than a regular ramen bowl. The upside is that you can try different ramens. There are machines at each restaurant to order. I wished there was a small explanation at each ramen shop explaining where in Japan is this specific ramen from and what makes it unique than the other shops.
Other than that, good experience and we were only able to go through 2 ramen shops because these bowls were saltier than we’re used to.
Wei C Sigala — Google review
The experience is amazing, you get to visit a recreation of old japanese streets and you get to taste different kind of ramen which is very well presented and tasty.
The only issue is the wait to get inside the shops inside the museum to actually taste the ramen. You gotta queue up for a lot but it's worth.
They accept cards and they are tourists friendly.
There is also a section where you can create your own custom bowl of ramen with custom printed cover photo and bring it home!
Sean — Google review
Loved this place. Custom Ramen ¥500. I should have bought twice as much from the gift shop but I ran out of room in my luggage. The "mini" ramen is not so mini so come hungry if you want to try different types. The staff had these cool Ramen hoodies but they weren't for sale. Boo. Weekdays are recommended either before 11 or after 3. I suggest eating first then walk the museum, then eat again, then walk, then eat, then walk, etc until you have to roll out.
Michael De Filippis — Google review
I've always been interested in visiting this museum and finally had the opportunity. Interesting for sure but the best part is downstairs where a multitude of ramen restaurants are located in a Disney-like Japanese village setting. Definitely make the trip here and also enjoy a fantastic ramen meal!

What to do in Japan? What to eat in Japan? Love Ramen?!! Learn about the history of ramen in the Japan museum, come here! This is my second time with my family but with a different set. More people are coming here so it's now more crowded and different set up. It was not as crowded six years ago.
Make sure to make your own ramen and put all the dry ingredients of your choice; so many to choose from! .It's pretty cool and not a bad price. Go to the bottom floor and see a saloon of Ramen shops to choose from. Pay by vending machine to get your ticket then proceed to your table and be served your ramen of choice .
Pretty cool place to visit while in Tokyo so make sure to add this on your list of places to go. The entrance fee is cheap.

A must visit if you are in Tokyo or Yokohama area. The old Tokyo street scene is still the same as before when I visited the museum 16 years ago. Even though the ramen stall which I randomly picked didn’t impress me, I enjoyed the museum and would return again if I’m in the area! Worth visiting 👍

I'm a tourist and I was not there to order Ramen. I thought there would be more to the "museum" but there wasn't. It was more like a mix of different Ramen Restaurants... I wanted to see a museum. It was a waste of my time. It was cute... kinda. I've shown you everything you need to see in the pictures.
B Collynns — Google review
This is a fun food court. We came about 1/2 an hour before they opened and there were about 15 people ahead of us. There are two lines. The line on the left are season pass holders. The line on the right is for people buying tickets to enter. We tried two restaurants before the place got really packed. The first restaurant we went to was OK. It is the one on the top level. The 2nd place was much better. Some restaurants don't have the smaller size ramens. So don't get too full on one restaurant. Be sure to do walk around the mid-level area to get a scope of the beautiful decorations.

Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse, also known as Aka Renga in Japanese, is a historic brick warehouse that has been transformed into a vibrant shopping and cultural center. Located in the Minato Mirai 21 district of Yokohama, it is surrounded by popular attractions such as the Yokohama Museum of Art, Cosmo World, and the Cup Noodle Museum.
One of the top 5 highlights to visit in Yokohama.
Venues and vendors *(including an ice skating park at winter) outside to enjoy.
Inside the old customs house features many great restaurants, cafés, and shops.
Great place to eat, drink, and pick up a few gifts.

I think whoever visits Yokohama should visit Red Brick Warehouse because it is the origin of Yokohama. Not talking about the ground floor of shopping and restaurant, the 2nd and 3rd floors are more remarkable in term of artistic value and decoration. Highly recommend to take a seat in the balcony at night to experience the night view of Yokohama, which is absolutly chill and memorable.
I will upload some such night photos for everyone's reference.

Only saw the night version (so maybe there’s more merit to this place if seen during the daytime) but when I was there it was just a place for shopping. Unless you’re into shopping then maybe this place would mean more to you. When we were at the food stalls area, it was very crowded that it was hard to move and you start thinking that it’s as if there was no covid anymore but there is so that makes it a bit worrisome.

I decided to walk from Yokohama Station to Chinatown, and along the way, I stumbled upon the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse. It appears to be a venue for organizing events, as there was a music concert taking place on that day. The atmosphere was brimming with energy and excitement, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Salute the creativity of Japanese citizens who turn historical buildings into attractive restaurant buildings. This place has an interesting view, especially from the balcony. The sea and city sides can be clearly seen. The place is clean. The food served is very varied, and delicious. Must try omurice here. For those who bring children, it is mandatory to cheer them up at the Disney Harvest Market, which although the price is a little expensive, but it suits the atmosphere given. Must-see places to go to Yokohama

This is an old customs warehouse(?) that has been adaptively reused as a shopping space and event center (upper floors). It also seems quite trendy with a predominantly young local crowd when I visited on a weekday.
However, I felt that most things were quite expensive for a budget tourist like me. Unless you specifically want a photo of the warehouses, the harbor, or want to visit a specific store located, I would not recommend a visit.

Charming Christmas market going on in December. Crowds are relatively controlled compared to the Tokyo Christmas Market, and the red brick warehouse plus coast gives it a nice backdrop.
Although still very crowded, the paved areas are easy to walk around compared to the muddy mess at the Tokyo Xmas market.
Food and drinks are quite expensive, but that is typical with these festive events, the main draw is the festive spirit and mood.
There is also an ice skating rink set up outdoors, it was delightful watching the ice skaters having a great time.

Yokohama Chinatown is the largest of its kind in Japan, boasting around 250 Chinese-owned shops and restaurants, as well as a vibrant entry gate. Located near Shin-Yokohama Station on the Tokaido Shinkansen line, it serves as a major transportation hub for travelers. While not centrally located, the area offers convenient access to popular attractions via train services to Yokohama Station and other nearby stations.
It was so huge compared with Kobe China town. There are so many people, food, languages, culture and energy to enjoy. I got juicy dumplings from 鵬天閣 and steamed dumpling from 江戸清. I didn't expect much about tastes because usually most of the tourist spots are just expensive but it wasn't at all! Both tastes SO good! I am very satisfied. Also, I got an egg turt 紅綿 which is mild sweetness. You can enjoy different types of Chinese take out menu almost all day!

Cool place with so many eateries and so many shops. Enjoyed walking today and wasn’t crowded. If looking for gifts and Chinese food this is the place. Found massage place that’s as reasonable but only opened at noon and sadly was booked. Fun tourist area

The dirtiest place in Japan. I wonder what makes this place different… either way, this is a very large Chinatown - impressive! Much of the same thing over and over. It was nice to see once but I wouldn’t go back unless it were in the evening, where it seems it might look nicer due to the lights.

If you are looking for an amazing food experience, look no further than this place. The variety of food options available will leave you spoilt for choice. But that's not all, there are also stores selling lucky charms that you can explore. Additionally, you can indulge in a relaxing massage or have your fortune told. As you walk around this area, you will be captivated by the many interesting sights and sounds. The beautiful scenery and the mouth-watering food will satisfy not only your taste buds but also your eyes. You won't regret visiting this place, that's for sure!

You can’t miss visiting Chinatown in Yokohama. It has many food options and street food vendors to choose from. They have a couple colorful temples to visit and also souvenir shops. It is very vibrant and clean. We went on a Saturday and it was packed, they have parking lots all around or take the train.

Went there Saturday night 11-19-2022 after Japan opened to tourist. It was crowded with tourist and locals. Many Chinese restaurant offering cuisines and foods from all over China. It was an enjoyable evening since this was my first time visiting Yokohama Chinatown. Recommend to come at night since all the neon lights add sparkles and charm, and increase the festive mood.

I went here on a weekday and it's not crowded. There are lots of restaurant to choose from. Almost every corner have food stalls or restaurants, some are fortune teller shops (which I haven't tried)
Japan is so clean and this certain Chinatown is soooo nice that I had a pleasant time strolling around.

I stayed in Hyatt hotel in Yokohama. From hotel you can walk around 5 minutes to China Town. It more beautiful at night, but you should visit there from 5pm to 7pm for dinner, last time I visited there little bit late so couldn’t enjoy much 😅

the place to look for the best snacks that must be visited, here there are many shops selling Chinese-style street food that must be tried. the price is also cheap in my opinion. The typical Chinese buildings lined up together also make an aesthetic impression in every photo you take. You can also find shops that sell typical Chinese medicine and spices, if you wish, there are also many fortune telling booths that you can visit at varying prices. There are many souvenir shops there too.

China Town offers an enchanting experience that brings together an array of delectable cuisines and an energetic atmosphere. As a food enthusiast, I was thrilled to explore the diverse range of restaurants that this vibrant neighborhood had to offer.
One of the standout aspects of China Town is the sheer variety of dining options available. Whether you're craving mouthwatering dim sum, fragrant noodles, or flavorful stir-fried dishes, you'll find it all here.
I highly recommend visiting China Town at 10:30am, just before the crowds start to flock in. This time of the day allows you to beat the rush and enjoy a more relaxed dining experience. It's the perfect opportunity to savor your meal without feeling rushed, while also having the chance to engage with the friendly staff who are always ready to assist.
Exploring China Town's labyrinthine streets, adorned with vibrant lanterns and captivating decorations, adds an extra layer of charm to the overall experience. The hustle and bustle of the area create a lively atmosphere that truly immerses you in the rich cultural tapestry of the neighborhood.
While the restaurants themselves vary in size and ambiance, each one exudes its own unique charm. Whether you prefer cozy and intimate spaces or grand and bustling establishments, you'll find a restaurant that suits your preferences perfectly.
Overall, my visit to China Town was a delightful culinary journey. The abundance of dining options, coupled with the inviting ambiance and friendly service, made it an experience to remember. I highly recommend starting your day at 10:30am to beat the crowds and fully immerse yourself in the flavors and culture of this lively neighborhood.

"This location offers a delightful experience for enthusiasts of Chinese and Japanese street food combinations. The ambiance is pleasantly uncrowded, allowing you to explore and uncover fantastic deals on both food and souvenirs at reasonable prices.
Cremia, priced at just 600+ yen, is a delectable soft-serve ice cream that strikes the perfect balance between creaminess and sweetness, complemented by a delightful crunchy and sweet cone. Highly recommended.
The savory Panda and Pig buns are freshly cooked, with a note to have water or milk on hand for the spicy bun, which packs a notable heat."

I normally don’t write a bad review unless I truly feel that way. I visited Yokohama China Town all the way from the United States cause I heard this is the biggest China Town in Japan. I love Chinese food and cook a lot of Chinese dish at home as well. I watched a lot of YouTube videos before I visited this location so knew what to try. If you keep snacking it will add up ¥3,000 easily per person and not even full cause the potion size is so small. I decided to go one of the restaurants offered all you can eat and that was an absolute disaster….I can cook better than them level…if you decided to visit China Town and decide to eat at restaurant, please read review and pick wisely.

Another must-do spots in Yokohama.
Amazing, and decently priced Chinese Street food that won't get you sick *(unlike in America or mainland Asia)
Peking duck wraps and stuffed dumplings are epic here.

The largest Chinatown in Japan; it’s such an interesting location with loads of foreigners, foreigner-friendly services and liveliness typical of the Chinese. My favorite attraction here would have to be the food, all you can eat buffets are definitely what make the Chinese culinary culture probably the most generous(in terms of cost efficiency and size) in the world and tasty! I will definitely head back to Yokohama again just to visit this Chinatown.

Great place to visit when you are in Yokohama. Food isn’t that jaw dropping compare to all the nice Japanese inspired Chinese food you can find in town. The streets itself are clean and worth visiting, after chinatown you can also take a bus to other nearby attractions.

Just follow the people after exiting the trains a long underground tunnel.
It was surprisingly huge from hundreds of restaurants, fortune telling, gift shops and health practices. There's a temple further back and a somewhat mall to dress cosplay and even fish pedicures. It would definitely take more than a weekend to explore the many alleys to sample dim sums, snacks, buns and cuisines. There's many entrance gates so you can remember your favourite shops. The largest Chinatown in the world.

I'm already Chinese and why bother seeing Chinatown right? Wrong.. that's precisely the point. To see how our race fare in other countries and why Yokohama Chinatown is the biggest in Japan. This trip was made in the morning to see businesses opening up and selling their wares and food. Was a busy and bustling atmosphere and evenings will be even more packed I believe. Thoroughly enjoyed the street food and talking to the people there but I would advise against buying the strawberry sugar coated sticks early in the morning as they are frozen, and avoid the pearls in the milk tea they sell as the texture isn't right, not chewy enough and too soft. Everything else is great.

A large, lively area with so much great food on every corner. Coming here on a weekend, this place was unsurprisingly packed with people with long lines in all of the popular snack shops and restaurants. It's just great to walk around this area and find some of the best Chinese food outside of China. Highly recommend for food trips and definitely worth a detour if you're visiting Yokohama.

I got here early at around 10:30am with a few stalls open and majority opening by 11am. The food overall was just okay. Since the portions here were small, I got to try out a lot of diff kinds of food. You’ll also see that many of the stalls here sell the same item so make sure to do your research in which stall sells the best.

We visited the China Town on a Sunday. It was very crowded. The street food was great and inexpensive. Even though there were lineups at most stores, but the waiting time was quite short. We tried a few kinds of food and drinks, they were all delicious and the sellers were nice and pleasant. It is worth to pay a visit.

Especially on the weekends when it's super crowded.
Not that much to see. Just different food stalls trying to sell the same type of street food.

Yokohama Chinatown is worth a visit for first timer visiting Yokohama. Mainly restaurants and street foods . I came with no expectation, but not sure what will I see. If you are into China food and from different provinces you will definitely enjoyed. If you came for art and culture, interest sight visit you will be disappointed. There is a temple in Chinatown dedicated to Kwan Kung and there is admission charge.

It is the biggest #Chinatown in Japan, and it is full of food & souvenirs. Very colourful during Christmas. It was very crowded. You won't leave this place as hungry! Lots of options are available. You can either dine-in or take-out either you can stand in front of the shop or go to the closest park and sit and enjoy the weather and eat.

Very vibrant, neat and colourful with lots of food around. It gets quite crowded over the weekend so you may have to queue up at a few places. However, if you walk further, you’ll end up finding quieter and less crowded places to eat. Most restaurants sell
the same food so unless you have done some research, it’s hard to tell which is the best place to eat. I did not find the meat buns all that different from the convenience store ones, just a bit more expensive for the same size.

One of the beautiful seasonal parks in Japan, known for the pink and white moss shapes, the best period to visit is between april and early May

Hitsujiyama Park, Chichibu, is known for its attractive moss-pink field. Open hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the festival from mid-April to early May. The ticket price was just 300 yen per adult, and it’s really worth it. The ticket counter staff and other staff were really kind and friendly. The park is well maintained, and they have some beautiful flower decorations too. They had 10 types of flowers there, and those flowers are lovely and take away all stress. This hillside park is pretty crowded during festival season, but you can still enjoy it. You can enjoy a variety of foods from stoles in addition to the moss pink yard. There are plenty of food styles, which include Japanese traditional cuisine. The food was really yummy, and the vendors were really nice. When you go a few steps further, you can see a few sheep on their small farm. Sometimes we can’t actually watch sheep at the zoo, so I feel so happy. However, take my advice: if you go during peak season, please be ready to walk, or else you can get on a taxi too. I walked from Chchibu station to Hitsujiyama Park, and it took me 20 minutes, but it was a nice experience. This gorgeous park gives you fresh air to breathe. It was worth visiting this garden again, and I hope to go there next year too.

Went there on the 1st of May and the flowers were no longer as well bloomed. The journey here from Yozoke station would be recommended over Seibu Chichibu as it is more of a gentle incline compared to coming up from Seibu Chichibu.

Kotoku-in, a serene temple in Kamakura, is famous for its monumental outdoor bronze statue of the Buddha. The 14-meter-tall Great Buddha is the symbolic image of Kamakura and one of the most popular attractions in the area. Originally housed inside a wooden structure, it now stands proudly in the open air after being swept away by a tsunami in 1495.
Beautiful old temple site, 300 yen per adult, kids under 6 were free, only cash. Parking available in multiple small lots on the Main Street through town, minimum 600 yen per hour, some lots more expensive. You probably only need an hour or less to see the Buddha but many small shops and eateries through the town. Worth seeing.

I am glad I went to see the Great Buddha in Kamakura. It was a beautiful day to walk around the site and take photos. We bought some cute souvenirs at the gifts shops on site. They sell stamp books and issue stamps for a small fee, which make a great keepsake. There are beautiful flowers and stone tablets around to view and have a nice stroll. The area isn't very big, so it can get crowded on weekends.

It was raining so it wasn’t as crowded as I have heard it gets. The Buddha is huge and the place is peaceful. The garden around it turned into monuments by the Thai government, these surroundings have gone through many changes given that this Buddha has been there since the 1200, it used to be an “indoor” space but many disasters tore everything down and they just left it as is and turned into an outdoor space.
Apparently it is possible to climb up from inside but when I was there it was closed.
The town is interesting and underrated.
Entrance was about $300 yen’s.

My visit to the Buddhist temple was a truly eye-opening experience. It had a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere. The temple's design was quite something, showcasing the skill and dedication of its creators. However, it was pretty crowded, and this was a drawback. It's great to see so many people showing an interest, but it did make it somewhat challenging to fully enjoy the quiet and contemplative aspects. You might want to consider visiting during a quieter time if you prefer a more solitary experience.
In a nutshell, my trip to the Buddhist temple was a memorable one. It's a spot that encourages reflection and understanding. Despite the crowds, the friendly atmosphere and the people's warmth made it a worthwhile visit. If you're looking to learn about Buddhism and have some time for self-reflection, this temple is a solid choice.

Really its worth to travel and enjoy.
The Buddha Statue is really huge and always crowded by tourists.
Beyond the statue there is also a garden, caves etc.

Even paid parkings are hard to find since all the spots are already packed.
Loved walking on the streets.
Delicious foods available.

Took our family here on New Years Eve to offer our blessings & wishes for good fortune into 2023. You can arrive by train and have a 10 min walk up the main road, littered with cottage style food stops, souvenirs, etc … the road is drivable and there are MANY small paid parking lots before or just past the Buddhist Temple site (around 800 yen) … if you don’t plan to sit & dine … you’ll only need 1 hour to see the grounds and maybe walk around quickly to some shops. Beautiful feel to the small town & the shrine itself. The area around offers much more with beaches, eateries and more sight seeing so don’t get stuck there too long! You must pay to enter & unfortunately still overly stringent COVID rules don’t allow you to walk inside the bronze Buddha statue (comes at extra cost)

Worth doing a day trip from Tokyo to this serene temple. The temple complex isn’t too big and can be covered in 30 mins. Although it gets super busy sometimes so you may need to wait for getting the perfect click. You can go inside the statue for a small fee but it may get claustrophobic.

Not as big as I thought it would be. Not a five star experience as the big statue is the only sight to see.

Only key attraction is the HUGE Bronze Statue of Great Buddha cast in 1252 A.D. It is formidable how long it lasted, withstanding the damage from nature and how much care they took to maintain the statue.

The island features an old Western-style lighthouse, restaurants, and stunning views of Mount Fuji. Visitors can explore Jōgashima Park to enjoy panoramic vistas of the Pacific Ocean and observe pine trees and seaside plants shaped by strong winds. Beautiful spot on the tip of Miura Peninsula. Due to it being relatively difficult to access, it’s not very well known by international tourists, and has a very local relaxed vibe.

Enoshima Aquarium is a must-visit destination located in Kanagawa Prefectural Shonan Coast Park for those who are interested in marine life and the Sagami Bay. The exhibition is informative and engaging, and I learned a lot about this beautiful and life-rich coastal area.
The main tank is like a large screen showing the ocean floor, and the jellyfish room is well-designed with colorful light effects. It is also a planetarium with regular shows for visitors. The outdoor area is home to a lot of sea turtles, which is a rare sight in aquariums. Their resting area facing the stunning Sagami Bay is a relaxing and perfect spot for enjoying the picturesque view. Unfortunately the Dolphin show stadium was under maintenance during my visit.
Overall, Enoshima Aquarium is a good local aquarium for tourists to learn more about the Sagami Bay and for families to enjoy their weekend.

One the coolest aquariums in Honshu. They have over 15 exhibits including an outdoor dolphin show. It cost ¥2,500 to enter for an adult. Make sure you check the times for the dolphin shows because the seats fill up quickly. Some of our favorite exhibits include the deep sea tank, the jellyfish hall, the Sagami bay tank and the sea turtle beach. I have been here two times and I highly recommend you visit this aquarium when in Enoshima.
Elias Chelala — Google review
One of the best aquariums with so much varieties of sea creatures while the entrance fees still reasonable. They have many jellyfish types and I didn’t saw anywhere else. The dolphins show is very good and changing regularly.
Mohammed Fatehy — Google review
An absolutely adorable aquarium, the wave fed rock pool was a very interesting site to see, the big tank was breathtaking and the dolphin show was super cute.
There were carp feeding areas where a big carp gives you kisses as they eat, chill capybara, basking sea turtles, seals, otters, penguins, various fishes, an astonishing amount of jellyfish and bull shark touching pools.
The cafe was nice, there was plenty of souvenirs and an adorable photo op with the Enoshima Aquarium mascot you could take home.
10/10 would splash again.

Happy to have caught their hydrangea event, unfortunately the dolphin show seems to be suspended until 14 July 2023. Overall worth the ticket price.

I went to see the jellyfish and it was a lovely experience, the added turtles, exotic fish and capybara also added to the experience and I had a lovely time. Fully recommend checking it out.

It’s a bit pricey, as far entrance tickets go. But the location (come out after closing to get a glimpse of Fuji if you’re lucky) and the exhibits make up for it. We enjoyed ourselves quite a bit. Would return

Little bit smaller than expected, but they have wide variety collections that anyone will enjoy.
Also the ticket better buy online because on the spot ticket line are quite long (on the weekend).
You can check the timeline on their website so you won't miss the dolphin show.

Wonderful and adventurous island to explore and spend time with friends and family on weekends. Enoshima island offers lot of stuff for tourist at one place, we can take a great ride in train from Fujisawa or through Enoden line train or by mono rail. We can go for a long walk and enjoy the beach or go for mountain hiking and boat ride.
Must place to visit in Japan for tourist. Its nicely maintained and easy to reach Enoshima by train or bus.

Enoshima is a must visit if you are traveling anywhere close by in Japan! The views from the cliffs, the rocky beach, the buildings, plant life, and bustling streets create an unforgettable experience and a unique atmosphere. There are many delicious food options, street performers, events at different times of year, and the cave and observation areas are also fantastic to see.

Despite of the rainy weather, I still get the chance to visit this island. From the Enoshima Train station, you have to walk on the bridge connecting to the island. It was really nice thou. You can see different seafood restaurants, souvenir shops and snacks below. Then, you will see stairs going to the shrine and to the Sea Candle Observatory. You can have a guide or brochure to help you explore the whole island. I had so much fun.

Amazing place with some great folklore. It's a little far from Tokyo city but taking a day trip here is worth it. It's not a big tourist destination but it can get quite busy at times. Beautiful old island with lots to see and enjoy.

Great experience and walk. I enjoyed the sea view from atop the island and trying tako senbei. I looked out for hovering hawks. The walking street lined with shops was cute too. I highly recommend using elevators if over 45yo. Be kind to your knees.

You can get to Kamakura station, then you take the train to get Enoshima station. Walk down the bridge and you’ll be at the Island!
You’ll see lots of temples, shops, restaurants.. and amazing sunset!
PS. If you are lucky, this is a good spot to see Mount Fuji!

Make sure you bring your swimmers too, you can go for a dip on the beach
Highly recommended!

New Years Day 2024 at Enoshima Island was not a bad trip on a holiday in the Shonan area. I expected it to be way more crowded, most restaurants and shops to be closed and for the parking lots to be completely full / inflated in price which none of that was the case. Highly recommended over going to Kamakura for New Years.

I'll never travel to Shizuoka without this trip planner again
Nestled on the scenic Mount Oyama, Oyama Afuri Shrine is a historic Shinto shrine renowned for its rainmaking deities. Visitors can reach the shrine by riding the new cable cars, offering breathtaking views of the Kanto plain and ocean. The shrine's young priest, 27th in a line of spiritual leaders, provides insightful guidance on the surprising history of the Oyama pilgrimage.
One of the best places to visit in autumn. The vibrant colors of the leaves would really take your breath away.
Going up, there are two options, hiking or riding the cable car(¥450 one way). Hiking has two options as well, Onna-zaka (easier way) or otoko-zaka (steeper way), both ways would entail walking lots of stairs! The steeper way is less crowded, hence more chances of seeing wild deers! Hiking takes about more or less than an hour depending on pace, it’s most important to take your time and enjoy!
There are food stalls selling mochis, coffee, sandwiches, soft cream, noodles and even beer near the shrine.
After the shrine, you can go all the way up to the summit of Mt. Oyama which takes about two hours or just get down by walking or by taking cable car. The last trip for cable car is at 5:00 on weekends and 4:30 on weekdays.
Getting here earlier would give more time to enjoy and relax!

Aburi-jinja in Isehara-city.
This god loves mountains and treats water. People begged him for the rain.
This shrine consists of two parts. At the end of the cable car,you can see "Shimosha". You pray your good fortune.it’s fine.
If you want to go to the top, you need physical strength and skill to go to the main shrine from there.

Very peaceful shrine with very little foreigner. This is how a shrine should be, silent, peaceful. I’m positive that this place is still unseen for most tourist.
Please note that the shrine located on the mountain, so there’s a LOT of stair and on the way here was mostly stairs or slopes. Please be prepared. But I promised that it’s worth every single sweat!

The shrine is not anything majestic. Its like many other shrines around Tokyo and other places. But the natural panaromic view of the surrounding locality is wonderful. You can directly see even Enoshima Island from up there. The long stairway to the shrine looks very beautiful from the top.

From the website
Oyama Afuri Shrine is a ceremonial shrine that is said to have been built during the reign of Emperor Sujin, the 10th Emperor of Japan, more than 2,200 years ago. Since ancient times, Sagami Province has been revered as a sacred mountain for the protection of the Kanto region. Jomon pottery, which is thought to have been used for rituals, has been unearthed from the summit, which is 1,252 meters above sea level, testifying to the ancient history of the mountain. Daisen is also known as "Amefuriyama" and has been widely loved. The name Amefuri is said to have originated from the fact that clouds and fog always form over the mountains, causing rain.

A nice station that's like the central hub of Hakone. Outside, there are numerous restaurants and other vendors.
At this station, there's the cable car and the train. Though the train itself is pretty slow as it maneuvers through the hillside. It also does something interesting where it stops, reverses and takes another split line. Very interesting indeed.
Otherwise you'll find that overall a pleasant ride.

The Hakone Open-Air Museum, established in 1966, aims to blend nature and art seamlessly. It spans across 77,000 acres of Japanese countryside and showcases an extensive collection from renowned international and local artists such as Miro, Rodin, and Yoshitatsu Yanagihara. The museum features outdoor sculptures by notable artists like Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth set against the backdrop of Hakone's lush hills.
Beautiful open air museum set in an incredible mountain backdrop. Lots of awesome sculptures including some interactive ones that kids can play on. There’s also an awesome indoor Picasso exhibit with 300 works (no photos allowed). Quite a bit of walking, so something to keep in mind if you’re differently able, although there are ramps which is good. Worth noting is the gift store - one of the most unique I’ve seen, so bring some spending money for that!

Definitely a must see in the autumn. The beautiful fall colors really make this museum magical. I’m additional to the grounds and various statues and exhibits, there is also a Picasso exhibit. We waited in line for 15-20 minutes in the morning on a weekend, which is not too bad. If you can buy tickets in advance, go for it, but still worth the wait. The grounds are spacious, so we did not feel crowded although it was pretty busy. Love the art!

A really nice place to visit while you're in Hakone. There are a lot of interesting pieces of art and we enjoyed walking around on our last morning in the area. I wouldn't say to go out of your way to visit here, but if you have time and you're nearby, it's worth it. The Picasso gallery was very interesting, I was surprised to see that they had so many original pieces in such a remote museum in Japan.
There are quite a few interactive sections for kids. And there is a lot of English.

Place is vast. We went during August, so it's summer. It was very hot so we have to go around the place quickly. Here you can see different arts and architecture coming from various artist from different parts of the world.
They also showcase some of Picasso's best work together with brief stories about it.
Nice place to visit if you love art, but the place itself has a nice ambience and a good place to just relax and enjoy the view.
Arlhie Rose Razon-Magabo — Google review
Really enjoyable, especially if you have a nice weather day. It was extremely windy today but sunny so it was manageable. It’s a beautiful space and the art is interesting. It reminds me of Louisiana Art Museum in Denmark with a less-impressive indoor collection (Hakone’s) although they have a Picasso ceramic exhibit which was cool to see. I’d love to have had coffee/a snack here but it just wasn’t the day for us for that.
If you’re in the area it’s worth it to come here. I don’t know if I’d take a special trip just for this place but to each ‘er own.
The architecture is awesome, too. I was kinda sad that adults aren’t allowed to play in the net installation.

This museum for me is beautiful! It's a mixture of art appreciation and relaxation. They have a museum for some of Picasso's work . The kids have areas to have fun too! They have a maze, an activity area and craft area. There were families with small children when we visited. And after a long walk around the meandering green, one can relax at a foot bath beside the cafe.

Among my favourite museums, wish all museums were open air concepts, refreshing and not stuffy that way. Surrounding mountains were a nice touch, can’t imagine those were easy to install. Even in the winter, the yellowing grass contrasted well with all the exhibits, will absolutely be coming back again soon.
Favourite piece was the metallic wedge of charred humans limbs; very heavy metal. And in contrast to that absolute darkness, my second favourite was the light bending glass tower that to my surprise, was decorated in pictures almost hidden if you don’t look carefully enough. I made it to the top but my battery died, so no picture but I will return in the spring and bring either a phone charger or a briefcase full of batteries to avoid the humiliation I faced carrying around a dead phone.

I visited at the end of February and was lucky enough to witness some snow on the ground. It definitely had a magical feeling and I enjoyed most of the artwork on display. This is a stunning art museum with many interesting and aesthetically pleasing art installations. There are many large-scale art design projects nearby, and inside the museum, there is a Picasso art museum for enthusiasts to visit. The reason this place is really nice is because you can take your kids to museum but you don't have to be too worried about making them quiet.
As long as it's a nice weather, you can basically spend the whole day slowly walking around, and let your kids run around.
All the sculptures and the art is also dynamic and is in harmony with the nature.
You cannot get proper food there as there's only hot dog that can be counted as food. He brought small sandwiches for our kids.

It’s a sculpture museum featuring lots of open space and interactive pieces. There are several facilities designed for children, and many visitors, mostly Japanese people, take their children with them. It’s a nice refreshing stop that can add some fresh air into your trip. I recommend paying attention to the weather forecast as the region is very prone to fog and rain.

It was an absolute delight exploring the vast collection of outdoor sculptures and the captivating works of Pablo Picasso. 🏞️💫
The museum's picturesque setting amidst the stunning Hakone mountains created a serene atmosphere that perfectly complemented the art on display. From the moment we stepped foot into the museum, we were greeted by a world of beauty and creativity. The open-air concept allowed us to appreciate the sculptures in their natural surroundings, and it felt like walking through an artistic wonderland. 🌿🗿
The Picasso Pavilion was a true highlight of our visit. We were mesmerized by the diverse range of Picasso's masterpieces, showcasing his innovative and ever-evolving style. The museum did an excellent job of curating the exhibition, providing insight into the artist's life and artistic journey. It was fascinating to see iconic paintings, ceramics, and sculptures up close, and to witness the depth of Picasso's creativity. 🎭🖌️
What made the experience even more enjoyable was the museum's interactive features. We were able to participate in various art installations and even create our own masterpieces at the workshop. 🎨 The knowledgeable staff were friendly and provided valuable information about the artworks, enhancing our understanding and appreciation of Picasso's genius.

There’s a nice area for kids only (see second photo) but that’s about it for kids. The sculptures are dotted around the compound. It is a nice walk if the weather is good. Hakone Open air museum
No need to get your tickets in advance for this museum. You can get your tickets at the entrance and even if there is a q it moves pretty fast.
More than anything this place is worth visiting as it is a the space is so beautifully designed that it is easy to walk around and gives the impression of vastness.
There space is big yet cleverly integrates art with nature so that even though there are loads of statues and structures, you never feel stifled or overwhelmed. In fact you will want to walk a lot more to take in all of them.
There are loads of outdoor sculptures by various artists and some are rather interesting. Although i think the word art might be a bit stretched here on occasions when you look at the sculptures or when you read the inspiration of these artists behind their work.
Loads of outdoor exhibits and in general 2 big spaces that allow for more interaction.
One is the Woods of Net which has a net structure within a wooden dome structure that allows for children to use it as a sort of net playground that they can climb on and swing on.
The other is a flower petal like maze that you can walk in and try to find your way out, albeit confusing i must say. In the end i walked the same way back out the way i entered instead of finding the other exit.
As for indoor exhibits, there are 3 (Hakone master piece collection, multi hall that is at the exit, and Picasso Pavilion).
I think the one that people generally spend the most time, is at the Picasso Pavillion. Interestingly instead of chronologically displaying his works or capturing it according to his life:
“This latest exhibit deconstructs the artist himself, presenting perspectives from different angles, such as subject matter and technique, and different points in time, by date of the artwork, so that the viewer may then reconstruct their image of Picasso.
For this exhibit, works from the Picasso Collection have been divided into 17 themes, creating a free and natural exhibition space unbound by chronology.
The Picasso of this exhibit is one who defies definition by a single perspective or specific point in time—Picasso as a continuum transcending time and space.”
The one i enjoyed the most was the symphonic structure. There a circular tower captures the four seasons through stained glass that leads you to an open air space on top with a great view of the museum and the trees and mountains beyond.

Absolutely wonderful! Majestic location in the mountains, with an amazing setting of beautifully landscaped gardens, walkways, forest paths, and well-curated pieces of world-renowned artists and sculptors. The mood is serene and calming, and the experience is one of awe and beauty. Owakudani, also known as Hell Valley, is a geothermic site in Hakone that offers stunning views of Mt. Fuji and the surrounding area. Visitors can take the Hakone Tozan Railway or local buses from Hakone-Yumoto Station to reach this forested and mountainous area. One of the main attractions here is the opportunity to eat black eggs boiled in hot springs, which are said to add seven years to your life for each egg consumed.
Beautiful area with many touristy shops and a museum detailing the local geology which is very fascinating (tix: 100 yen)! There is a nature trail connected to the main complex that requires reservations that provides a look at the local wildlife. Make sure to try the black eggs while you are here as they are delicious!

Black eggs! This oozing, green scar was caused by an eruption thousands of years ago and then there was a horrible mud slide that killed many people 100 years ago. Now they are working really hard to terrace the place. It truly feels like another planet and it smells like hell. I recall a time when you could walk out further to see where they cook the eggs but it’s all blocked off now. I suppose there may have been people who got sick from the noxious gas. I wish more areas were accessible for exploration. Still, I understand that is probably not safe. The ropeway is a great experience especially on a sunny day. We were lucky to catch it at a nice time in February. Looking forward to visiting again whenever we have a chance. Thanks for all the delicious hard boiled eggs over the years 🙏🎉😄

In the Owakudani area near the Hakone volcano there are places where hot smoke comes out of the ground (it's not a geyser) the smell of sulfur which scorches the ground in a yellow color. View of Lake Ashinoko and Mount Fujiyama in Japan. It is amazing, don't miss the cable car ride, boating on the lake and visiting the open museum. It is said that the Japanese cook eggs in the hot springs which gives them a black color. A belief holds that eating one egg adds 7 years to life. The place also has a restaurant and sells ice cream, which is also black in color.

Beautiful place to visit.
The peak is about 1044 meter high and you can see the inactive volcanoes and smokes coming out from the volcano.
However the smoke is very stingy because of its sulphuric property.
You have to take a Cable car in order to get to the top.
One of the most famous food is Black Egg or 黒卵.
The rumor about the black egg is that if you have one black egg then your life expectancy will increase to extra 7 years.
Its really very interesting rumor that almost 95% tourists buy Black eggs.
Really must visit once.

Easy to find, lovely atmosphere (not counting the dreadful smell of sulphur of course😆) . The ride on the gondola was nice and provided a lovely view on approaching the lake. The weather tho obscured Mt. Fuji ☹️
I liked that I could buy a one way or return ticket and use it anytime throughout the day. I do think that ¥2250 (return) is a rather pricey ride tho but I guess it's a tourist attraction.
I didn't like that the minimum number of eggs I could purchase was 5 - felt like a waste of resources since I couldn't eat that many and 3 ended up in the trash.
All round nice experience - I recommend it.

This place looks so great especially while you're inside the ropeway where you can actually see the smokes coming from the mountains on a great angle.
Once you go down, you'll see shops selling souvenirs and some black egg that they believe will add more years to your life if you eat it.
We decided not to stay too long due to the sulfur smell coming from the smokes.
It is a place with a breath taking view that's why it's a must visit site when you go to Hakone.

This place is so beautiful, really wish we would have done a little bit more research on things to do especially that you can walk to the area where the eggs are boiled. This 4km route from Tougendai station to Sounzan station passes through the Hakone mountains, providing ever-changing views of nature throughout the seasons. From cherry blossoms to red and yellow leaves, the scenery is stunning. On clear days, Mount Fuji can be seen in the distance.

Oshino Hakkai is a picturesque village located in Oshino Village, Yamanashi Prefecture, between Yamanaka Lake and Kawaguchi Lake. The village features eight ponds known as the "eight seas of Nunye," which are fed by melted snow water from Mount Fuji. This natural filtration process results in cool and pure spring water that has been revered for over 1,200 years.
Beautiful area to spend the day exploring. There are many places to shop and also eat. While you are there take time to do the Oshino Springs Tour and find all 8 ponds. There are a lot of great photo opportunities during every season.

What should I say about this place... it's scenic, beautiful, peaceful, refreshing....I loved this place !! There is a souvenir shop too. All things are cute, pretty and affordable !! We had a fresh mochi (150¥each) it was really delicious !! There is a public washroom. The parking lot is also there. Lots of vending machines too. Highly recommended

Very nice place to take photos, feed some coi fish, and go to a small museum of old Japanese traditional living; the museum is extra and optional (go inside the village building and climb to the top). Has some food stands and other stands to buy souvenirs. There is a small market, restaurant and place that sells ice cream. You can spend as little as a hour here if you are on a time constraint and there are several parking spots nearby (pay through the honor system).

Throngs of tourists jammed in all vying for the best spot for photos. It’s scenic. Has a lot of stalls with nice local food. Not easy to find great views of Fuji from here but you can enjoy a stroll along the stream and have some snacks. Basically a tourist trap because the charm is lost. Interesting history and UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE designation but I would save the time and go straight to Kawaguchiko. Oshino is kind of out of the way, an hour plus detour.

Great views of the Oshino village and beautiful spring water ponds. Wonderful view of Mt Fuji too. Spent 2 hours there and not enough time to go to all 8 ponds. Remember to get the 10 stamps at the tourist centre.

Oshino Hakkai is a delightful discovery for anyone visiting the area. This charming village is renowned not only for its natural beauty but also for its fantastic dining options. The restaurants here offer a perfect blend of delicious cuisine and scenic beauty, particularly with their stunning views of the serene ponds. Dining while overlooking the crystal-clear waters of the pond, surrounded by lush greenery, enhances the meal experience significantly. The quality of food is impressive, with fresh ingredients and authentic flavors that capture the essence of the region. Oshino Hakkai is not just a feast for the palate but also a feast for the eyes, making it a must-visit destination.

Oshino Hakkai is a picturesque gem nestled at the foothills of Mount Fuji, offering visitors a serene and enchanting experience. With its crystal-clear spring water ponds, traditional thatched-roof houses, and breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside, this destination truly captures the essence of rural Japan.
Walking through the tranquil pathways, surrounded by lush greenery and the soothing sound of flowing water, one can't help but feel a sense of peace and harmony with nature. The eight ponds, fed by the snowmelt from Mount Fuji, exhibit stunning shades of blue and green, creating a mesmerizing sight that is perfect for photography enthusiasts.
In addition to its natural beauty, Oshino Hakkai also boasts a rich cultural heritage, with several preserved historic buildings and artifacts that offer insight into traditional Japanese village life.
Whether you're seeking relaxation, cultural enrichment, or simply a break from the hustle and bustle of city life, Oshino Hakkai is a destination that promises to captivate and inspire. My visit here was truly unforgettable, and I highly recommend it to anyone exploring the majestic region around Mount Fuji.

What a beautiful little Japanese town. We went on a sunny Saturday around noon and the place had a healthy amount of visitors, beautiful views, and plenty of good food and souvenirs. The water might be the clearest I have ever seen.

Beautiful little village of lovely deep ponds of snowmelt. Great view of Mt Fuji on a clear day. Overall it is very much a tourist spot with plenty of local souvenirs and snacks, including roadside grilled fish. Parking area is a short level walk outside of the village centre. Outdoor areas dog friendly.

Oshino Hakkai is a serene and picturesque destination that left me in awe of its natural beauty. As a non-native English speaker, I want to share my experience of this enchanting place.
Located near Mount Fuji in Japan, Oshino Hakkai is a small village renowned for its crystal-clear spring water and charming ponds. The eight ponds, or "hakkai," are fed by the melted snow from Mount Fuji, giving the water its remarkable clarity. The reflections of Mount Fuji in these ponds create stunning vistas that are a photographer's dream.
Walking through the village, I felt like I had stepped into a tranquil oasis. The old thatched-roof houses, traditional architecture, and well-preserved surroundings transported me back in time. The local residents were warm and welcoming, adding to the overall charm of the place.
One of the highlights of Oshino Hakkai was the opportunity to taste the pure spring water from the village's wells. It was refreshing and delicious, making for a memorable experience.
In addition to its natural beauty, Oshino Hakkai offers a glimpse into traditional Japanese culture. The local shops and stalls sell handmade crafts and souvenirs, allowing visitors to take home a piece of the village's charm.
In conclusion, Oshino Hakkai is a must-visit destination for nature lovers and those seeking a peaceful retreat. Its pristine ponds, stunning views of Mount Fuji, and rich cultural heritage make it a unique and unforgettable place to explore.

It was a cool place but not much vegan / vegetarian food. We ended up eating lots of rice balls from the street food stand (the ones that come on the stick) that were 100 yen each. Also the purple cake things. Nice views and nice ponds but not too much to do.

A short stroll from the parking area. Be prepared for lots of crowds. The ponds are lovely and very clear. The fish are happy and well fed. You can buy fish food at several shops. The water is very cold and refreshing. I recommend bringing a bottle (or buying one there) to fill with delicious Fuji waters.

Our tour took us to this beautiful village for lunch. It has tasty local food at restaurants and snack stalls. You can buy fruits and souvenirs at the shops. There's an observation deck to see Mount Fuji, but there’s an access fee. The water in the pond and rivers is very clear, and you can see fishes swimming in them.

Very crowded with tour groups when I went. Surrounding the popular pond seen in photos is a large confectionery store so expect a lot of people around it. Some of the ponds are surprisingly deep and there were bright yellow fishes. Bring polarised sun glasses or lens to capture then/see them better.

it's easily accessible via the fujikkyo bus, quite touristy but you can get a couple of good photos fr this area. i had lunch at a small restaurant run by a couple (about 5 tables size) that's right at the bus stop, sumptuous lunch... to enter the village is free, and it costs ¥300 to enter this gated area where i enjoyed myself best (cos most "group tour" tourists did not pay to come in) so i had undisrupted view of fuji with a peaceful lake. wonderful times. i also highly recommend the fresh grilled chestnuts, strawberry, and if you see this sign 巨峰 (grape) ice cream (dont miss this)!! ill upload some photos, feel free to write to me if you have any question! :) enjoy japan! ‼️🇯🇵‼️

Beautiful little town with Crystal clear waters that you can see through to the bottom of the several ponds. It has this tranquil jade-like colour and very calming to see the fishes swimming in them. Great place to get the peach tea and mushroom tea here.

I particularly liked the pond and buildings you find after entering the "museum" (300 yen). There's also an old house with an antique kitchen and farm equipment. It was fun to feed the fish and ducks. However, besides an omiyage shop and some street food there's not a lot to do or see. Still, the scenery and beautiful pictures are worth the visit.

Loved the scenery of this place ! The ponds are immensely beautiful and picturesque with the Mt Fuji opposite! 6 ponds to explore! If you are driving, just park at anyone spaces and pay 300¥. The locals will charge you but your car is safe with them. So do not park along the streets as the tour buses might be blocked by you. Enjoy the snacks along the way in and remember, the deals are better further away from the tourist spot.

Exploring this charming Japanese place designed for tourists was a delightful experience. Despite the rainy weather obscuring Mt. Fuji from view, the town retained its scenic allure. I relished sampling its fresh water and indulging in a few treats to take home. While the absence of Mt. Fuji was a disappointment, I believe its presence would have enhanced the beauty of the surroundings even more. Nonetheless, I highly recommend visiting this area for its unique charm and attractions.

This quaint little village, believed to be 300 years old, is charmingly small, enhancing its historical feel. It's a place where spending £25 on a punnet of grapes is standard, given their exceptional taste and freshness, though the price is admittedly steep. The village is dotted with small markets and stalls, but its true pride lies in the crystal-clear water flowing from the mountain, which fills ponds teeming with beautiful koi. The locals are extremely respectful, balancing reverence for their surroundings with the day's business. Amidst this serene setting, stunning photographs of the mountain can be captured through the gaps in the trees.

Lake ashi is absolutely beautiful! We arrived to togendai after a short bus ride from our hotel. There at the base, lake ashi had the lovely pirate ships coming back into port. Shout out to the Evangelion characters everywhere & the cool human sized figure in the station! Definitely a fan favorite, fun fact the anime is set in Hakone and lake ashi & Owakudani appear in the series 👏🏼
After a short walk enjoying the water front we caught the Hakone Ropeway for a scenic ride up the mountain side, it was Picturesque to say the least. As we got higher in elevation we could see Mt. Fuji with it's donut cloud hats lol As well as plumes of white smoke emerging and bursting out from the area up ahead. When you arrive at the top of Owakudani if your an egg fan you must try the "Kuro-Tamago" as called by locals, aka black eggs or sulfur eggs. There's a legend about life expectancy around them. Fuji-Q Highland is an amusement park located near the base of Mount Fuji in Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi. It's a popular destination for thrill-seekers with its impressive collection of rides, including Takabisha, the world's steepest roller coaster, and other famous coasters like Eejanaika, Do-Dodonpa, and Fujiyama. The park also offers two haunted attractions - Hopeless Fortress and the Haunted Hospital.
The best place to enjoy extreme roller coasters, and the only amusement park that can match Tokyo Disney Land in Japan.
Those roller coasters are so thrilling and I’ve never seen such fast-speed, enormous ones even outside of Japan.
This time I’m here with little kids but we enjoyed Thomas land and Lisa and Gaspard area enough.
We loved Fujiyama lookout, we could get a beautiful picture there.
If you are registered to FujiQ free e-newsletter then preschool kids’ free passes are free until next May!

My trip was very pleasant. The only thing I didn't like is the waiting time for rides with very short time duration. You wait 30 minutes for 3 minutes ride. I recommend going on weekdays. We bought all day pass but we couldn't ride them all (working hours were 10:00-18:00). Overall, I recommend!

Definitely worth a visit, some kick a$$ roller-coasters here. You can pay 2000 per ride or take a day pass for 7500. Entry to the park is otherwise free. No rides, no pay. Don't go there on weekends/holidays. On a friday morning less than 30 minutes waiting

Had an amazing time. Definitely worth a visit. If you can afford it get the express pass for the big 4. Unfortunately two of the big 4 were down for maintenance on the Friday we visited. Wait times were around 30 mins max for the other rides. Magical location at the base of Mt Fuji if the sky is clear you can see the whole mountain.

I bought the afternoon ticket and can enter the park after 2PM. You can exchange the voucher with the ticket at the ticket machine, and when you enter they will take a photo of your face which will be used when you take any ride. The queue were very long, over 1 hour for the popular rides. Only managed to take 3 rollercoaster before the closing time.

The entry is free but all rides are chargeable like every other place.
This is a french small town like setting. This contains, french shop, bakery, fountain, street, cafes, and one very pretty french car with lots of flowers.
The colour tone is very pretty. Walls are creamy and pink mostly. This gives awesome look exactly like a french town.
There is french library, wine shop and restaurant. But every thing is managed by Japanese so we should expect Japanese food better than french cuisine.
There is 6200 yen ride for whole day. This is worth if you really like rides. Most of the rides are for adults specially the roller coaster which has recorded max number of turns. This was fun time but I had to move to another attraction nearby so I didn't take ride. You as a guest must take it

I would definitely recommend people to buy One day pass which is comparatively cheaper than other courses.
I visited during weekend at night time, we have to stand in queue for each ride, where the Guinness world Record will take more time.
All the ride were awesome and thrilling, they also have App to check the waiting time for each ride and would possibly try the Asylum next time which would be much scary as it looks.

Best Amusement Park in Japan. Four different roller coasters would give you damn thrilling experience. Till now it has been the best roller coaster ride. Sometimes waiting time can be longer but don't quit. The rides are amazing, one must try all of these rides. I am surely coming back here soon.

We had a really good day at Fuji Q! It wasn't too busy which meant we could ride the bigger rides more than once. Staff are all happy and enthusiastic! Our favourite ride was Fujiyama - King of Coasters it may be one if the best I've ever been on!
The only downsides were that the park was a bit of a maze and there were no maps, only an app which isn't available on the Play store If from out of Japan! It was also sad to see it was a bit run down in places, they are building a new ride but there are also forgotten parts of the park that haven't been looked after (below the view point)
We would love to go again and ride the big rides

Combined an evening trip here with a day trip from Tokyo to the Aokigahara forest. We just happened to stumble across this place on maps while having a late lunch near kawaguchiko station. We found out it was free entry so we decided we had to at least check it out before we head back to Tokyo. We were captivated with every bit of the park when we walked in. The rides were massive and the park wasn’t busy. We walked around and checked out all the rides until we decided we had to try the Fujiyama coaster despite not being able to tell how long the line was. The ticket was ¥2000 each but it was well worth it. The line was only 20 minutes and coaster was over 3 mins long. We would love to come back and try a day pass so we can get the full experience of the park. Lots of food and snack options available. Large assortment of high octane rides and slower smoother “kid” rides. The view of Mt. Fuji was unbelievable from the park and rides.
Benjamin Shand — Google review
This place has truly earned its nickname of "Fuji Queue". Despite being far from any major city, the lines were easily 60-90 minutes for the more exciting rides and at minimum 20 minutes for the slow, child-friendly ones.
If you are going here, go early (before 12pm) as most visitors get here around 2pm. Buy your highway bus/train/express train tickets at least a few days in advance and stay the night in the area if you can. We did this as a day trip and the stress was not worth it.
The few rides we made it onto were amazing though, felt like we were going to die.

This might be the best theme park I have ever visited. I’ve been to Disney Sea and it was full of people and everything was quite expensive.
FujiQ was the opposite of Disney and it makes it so enjoyable.
All the rides are more fun and adrenaline generating. It does lack in atmosphere but who cares about characters and sets when you’re having fun actually riding the rides instead of waiting in line for 2 hours.
The fast pass system is easy, just find a station near the desired ride and pay ¥2300 yen per person and select the time you will be using it.
Some lines for the very popular rides took about 45 minutes but I can tell during weekends and busy periods they can be well over an hour.
Just come during the weekday and wait times are more 20mins to 10mins.
JimJam — Google review
You can either purchase a day-pass or buy tickets for each ride. Some rides have fast passes and while they cost around 15€ per person, they are well worth the investment and usually cut down the waiting time from 45-90 min to 0-10 min!!
The rides are also extremely unique! This park boasts 3 world records!
A very enjoyable amusement park with a beautiful view to Mount Fuji!
Stefan Hiebl — Google review
Definitely would be a 5 star experience if more rides were open. I negated a star because there were only a few rides open. We purchased fast passes (10,000¥ for 5 of us/2000¥ each) for Eejanaika, stood in line, then were told that it was closing for repairs. We went and ate lunch then headed back to the coaster again since it had reopened. Since it was the only chance on our trip to visit Fuji-Q, we chose to pay for fast passes for the only 2 coasters that were open. We will definitely go back, but next time we will more than likely pay per ride rather than purchase the unlimited ride pass unless more rides are open.

Nice amusement park right next to mount Fuji. If the clouds clear a bit you'll see Fuji more closely than I expected. The attractions in the park had som confusing opening hours. Some closed early in the afternoon and done opened only in the afternoon. A couple of attractions we're also closed, disappointingly one of the most spectacular ones which wasn't really advertised which would have been nice to know in advance. Overall a nice day-trip from our stay in Tokyo.

I was thrown in every direction and spun in every axis all while having a beautiful Mt Fuji view. Incredible. The best roller coasters in Japan, and possibly in the world. Each is unique and hold some kind of record. It’s quite pricey but it’s worth buying the priority passes to skip the monstrous queues for the major attractions. Eejyanaika broke my brain but like in a good way. A little bit of planning is necessary to hit all the major rides within a day. Definite 10/10 experience with my friends.

The all day pass was so worth it! Go early and try all of the rides. Their hyper 5th dimension rollercoasters hold world records. The food selection here was also really good. There’s a Lawson just outside and you have in/out privileges so you could also eat there and save some money. If you love amusement parks this Truly cannot be missed. This was one of the highlights of our trip. WAY better than Universal Studios!

If you are looking to have a day trip from Tokyo with thrills and gorgeous scenery then I heavily recommend Fuji-q. Went on a Sunday in April and the lines were short at max 30 minutes and we rode every major rollercoaster which there are 5 big ones within 3 hours. The rides are legitimately top notch! The video I uploaded is by far the best ride there! The entire staff in the whole park is very nice and you can pay for all your food and tickets with your suica card as well, which is very convenient!

If you’re NOT a thrill seeker; this is not for you! That’s your disclaimer. Fuji Q has been one of the best amusement parks in the world that I have been to. I did not have high expectations but I left speechless and on an adrenaline rush. Yes the lines were long, I went on a Saturday but if you’re willing to splurge; you can buy a priority pass to skip the wait. One for each ride though. Sometimes I did wait in line because I didn’t mind if it was a 50 min wait. Absolutely the time of my life! 12 mins away from Mt. Fuji!

Breathtakingly beautiful. The coast is super rocky and can get very windy, but the color of the water is just beautiful. Lots to explore and see, including rocky areas that you can climb around on and find hidden rock pools. Be sure to wear proper shoes because it’s very easy to trip over.

An absolute breath taking view. The coast and even the nature around it are all stunning. There is a lighthouse which you can climb up and a suspension bridge. The cliff coastline is made of volcanic rock, which in itself is a marvel. Parking does cost, but it is only ¥500 which goes towards taking care of the coast.

Awesome place.
So this was not in my initial plan, I thought it will be okay however we visited this place out of surprise to ourself🤣
Real Destination- New York Lamp Museum
Forest path out side of NYLM, now there are two ways of you want some extra stress on your leg and want to just on rocks near the ocean then take the long route, if you are just looking for forest walk and direct reach to the destination then go for the small path- I personally liked the small path it's peaceful but may be teens and kids will like the long one.
Walk is good so have your camera with you.
Now there are three things to see one is the suspension bridge second is the rocky coat ( long route) next is the light house view.
Parking area is big 2 parking is available.
Not sure about the charges.
It's nice place to visit. Fresh air and blue sky beautiful scenery.

Breathtaking views. Beautiful drive. Easy access. 500 yen parking. Good for photo shoots and a stop along the way of a trip. But not enough to make a day of.

Nice location, parking costs 500. Lighthouse closes at 4pm, so be early. Other than that, not much to be seen, but it is a great place to relax.

From Jogasaki-Kaigan Station, I came walking to this wonderful viewpoint. The impact of the waves to the rocks gives such a wonderful atmosphere to this place that really feels like an adventure. There are some nice shops around to spend around half a day. This place was a surprise during my Ito visit, highly recommended to come here and take a look, it does really feel like an adventure!

Nice coastal walk. There is a light house with free access to the top enroute. The suspension bridge made a great photo point esp if take from shore.

The trail is fairly easy with proper shoes and offers breathtaking views of the sea and uniquely shaped cliffs. Went on a Monday, so it was not crowded at all. Unfortunately, the Kadowaki Lighthouse was not open to the public at that time. Be careful when taking pictures at the cliff edge since there are almost no barriers.

Beautiful place with stunning views of the coast and the place is not crowded which is a blessing ✨️. There's no entrance fees to enter here and the parking is 500¥ per entry.

Mt. Omuro, an extinct volcano located in the eastern coast of Izu Peninsula, boasts a distinct shape resembling an inverted rice bowl that can be seen from afar. This peak is popular for its unique appearance and offers visitors exciting paragliding adventures, archery range inside the crater, and a zoo at its foot.
Nice view.
A must-visit place around here.
You can take a "bowl tour" up here.
Walking around the crater.
Mt. Fuji is always a good thing to see from anywhere.
You can find Izu islands.
You can even see Bousou Peninsula, the other side of Tokyo bay.
If you go by car, you should go early so you can park easily.

The place is not too big and you can stay for about 15 to 20 minutes. You can see the scenery of Izu City and Sagami Bay. Izu Shaboten Zoo is next to it and you can reserve an afternoon to visit two spots. Keep this ticket you can enjoy discount ticket for the zoo.

Very nice place but due to GW line is always long however there are some nice snacks point you can try while waiting in line. I tried WASABI ICE CREAM - oh god that was something.. if you are there just try that. They also have other flavors like aloe Vera and stuff.
Now good stuff --
1- there are three car parking and one bus parking. Just park it in the first one I saw people rushing for the other two parking which is in front of the Gate. So this can save some time.
2- this place is wheelchair accessible.
3- toilet on the side of Mt Omuro, is again too busy better to use toilet across the road.
4- near buy places are also cool 19 min. Drive to NEW YORK LAMP MUSEUM which is awesome see my review for that..
And soba shop is also near by 13 min drive. And yes amusement park is also close by so full day trip for that area will do.
And most importantly-
enjoy your self and your vacation, you earned it.

Amazing. Definitely a re-visit. Do try the archery as it quite enjoyable, especially in such a wide and spacious area. Also, a very photogenic site.

Once a volcano, Mt. Omuro is now covered with grass and features a circular trail with a 360-degree view of the Izu Kogen area and beyond (you can see Mt. Fuji when visibility is good). The chairlift costs 700 yen and is a pleasant 5-minute ride to the top. Once at the top, it takes about 15-30 minutes to walk around the crater. You will find a small Shinto shrine, jizo statues, souvenir shops and food stalls. At the bottom of the crater, you can also try your hand at archery. It’s a must-see!

The ride up the mountain was one of the most memorable moments of our vacation this summer. The kids absolutely loved it! The 360view was spectacular! Everywhere you turn, you’re engulfed in a sea of lush matcha green. Viewed from above, the meticulously manicured grass plain on the crater seemed mellow and soft, primarily veiled in a thin smoke of morning fog, then unraveled by the golden touch of sunlight as the hours pass by, sheer joy.

- one of the most interesting attractions in Ito & Izu peninsula with a scenic chair lift that takes you to the summit of the lush green mountain. Once on the top, you can enjoy a round track with amazing views of other mountains and the sea. There is also a restaurant/food shop and activities like archery on top of the mountain. This is truly a unique experience. There are restrooms on the top as well. They usually block your photos on the way up and then you have a choice to either buy them or not.

Mount Fuji, the iconic snow-capped peak and volcano, is the highest in Japan and the 7th highest island peak on earth. Yamanashi Prefecture, home to Mount Fuji, offers a serene escape from Tokyo's hustle and bustle. Visitors can explore the picturesque Fuji Five Lakes, Kiyosato highland resort, historical temples like Erinji and Kuonji, rejuvenating hot springs, and renowned wineries.
Mount Fuji (富士山, Fuji-san) is the highest mountain in Japan which rises to 12,388 feet (3,776 metres) near the Pacific Ocean coast in Yamanashi and Shizuoka prefectures of central Honshu, about 60 miles (100 km) west of the Tokyo-Yokohama metropolitan area and can be seen from those cities on clear days.
It is a volcano that has been dormant since its last eruption, in 1707, but is still generally classified as active by geologists. The mountain is the major feature of Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park (1936), and it is at the centre of a UNESCO World Heritage site designated in 2013.
The mountain, with its graceful conical form, has become famous throughout the world and is considered the sacred symbol of Japan. Among Japanese there is a sense of personal identification with the mountain, and each summer thousands of Japanese climb to the shrine on its peak. Its image has been reproduced countless times in Japanese art.
Mount Fuji attracts more than a million tourists each year to the mountain and surrounding towns, approximately 300,000 of whom will make the climb to the Fuji top.

No matter where you see this mountain from, there's something captivating about the size and shape. It's almost symmetrical and rises out of fairly flat surroundings so it stands out. Apparently it's still an active volcano but fairly docile. Great views from the bullet train that runs from Tokyo to Osaka, as well as the many lakes and campgrounds around it: Kawaguchiko lake has some of the best views.

Fantastic Hike up from 2.305m to 3.715m. I did the “daytime bullet climb” which is not recommended by the officials, but my time was limited. Took me up 4.10h and down 2.10h. It is definitely a tough way up.
Please consider your fitness level, resilience, weather conditions and your equipment.

Really fun hike with barriers all around. You can easily do this in half a day if there's no traffic. Equipment is not necessary but I would recommend good shoes because you go up and down a gravel road. The trip is free but you can donate 10 euro and get a free keychain. Sadly the bus to the carpark is very expensive.

Even though it may not be the prettiest mountain to climb in Japan (check japanese northern alps or Kamikochi), it is indeed the most famous one. A long medium-hard climb, occasionally with rocks and steep areas. Anybody in good conditions can reach the top, but bring warm clothes, flashlight and rainwear since the weather at the top is unpredictable and extremely cold and windy (if you want to see the sunrise, then prepare to feel the cold). Also the line of people can become very long, so be extra patient. The view is beautiful, you will be walking above clouds. But the mountain itself is a volcanic rock, so don't expect interesting vegetation or wildlife. There are a lot of huts that sell water, oxygen and food at a premium price. To come to the start of the hiking area, I took the bus from Shinjuku Station. Note that the huts are open only during the hiking season in summer, so check the dates. You can stay overnight at these hut or reach the top departing at night, depending on your hiking plan. Recently they improved the WiFi at the top of the mountain.
How can you not love this absolutely beautiful creation from this world. It was a perfect time to visit while it was not too cold, but there is still snow on the mountain.
You can stare at the mountain every day to look at this beautiful creation. There are several lake around the mountain. You can look at different perspective so you can enjoy different aspect of the view.
Make sure to go during the sunny day, because during rainy time, you could probably not be able to see the mountain thank God for the amazing mother

Simply breathtaking!!! An ez 10000000/10.
Ok so on klook my friend and I managed to find quite a value for money tour which was led by an originally Taiwanese guide who had been living in Japan for 10 years, so as you could tell she was quite conversant in both languages. Immediately presented herself as very knowledgeable and gave ample time for us to take photos of many attractions at the foot of the mountain. Btw we went in the dead of winter so climbing wasn’t allowed, but we were so lucky cos there weren’t many clouds in the sky that day and we had a very clear view of the peak. If you really want to climb Fuji, I would recommend firstly getting a router cos the signal near the mountain is super weak and secondly you can only do so during the summer months. Nevertheless, we could still visit the first checkpoint and get to play with snow! The food at 忍野八海 is super fresh oso wth especially the street takoyaki and the sweet fruit cakes!!! Will definitely take you about at least 6-8 hours to thoroughly explore the area 👍👍👍, can really just take your time, OTOT, and soak in the fresh air…
P.S. there are hotels nearby on the mountain face where you can really experience a panoramic view of Fuji-san

Went in the summer, so there was no ice perk, as they are melted.
The Mount Fuji top looks a little plain, however, when climbed up to the Pagoda, the full city view, with the mountain and Pagoda is amazing.
At the green ground before climbing up, that is a very good photo taking spot.

So beautiful! We went on a sunny day, and it was an amazing view. There are multiple places that you could go from the color bus system to see beautiful mountain from different locations and perspectives. The actual logistics of getting around were chaotic. They had an unclear system of lines and what type of tickets to get. The station workers were helpful even though it took a long time to get to the front to talk to them. It was worth it though!

Mount Fuji (富士山, Fujisan, Japanese: [ɸɯꜜ(d)ʑisaɴ] (About this soundlisten)), located on the island of Honshū (the "mainland"), is the highest mountain in Japan, standing 3,776.24 m (12,389.2 ft). It is the second-highest volcano located on an island in Asia (after Mount Kerinci on the island of Sumatra), and seventh-highest peak of an island on Earth. Mount Fuji is an active stratovolcano that last erupted from 1707 to 1708. The mountain is located about 100 km (62 mi) southwest of Tokyo and is visible from there on clear days. Mount Fuji's exceptionally symmetrical cone, which is covered in snow for about five months of the year, is commonly used as a cultural icon of Japan and it is frequently depicted in art and photography, as well as visited by sightseers and climbers.

most beautiful mountain I've ever climbed. Despite what you may read online, it's NOT an easy hike. Oxygen will be depleted by the 8th station. Do your research, check the weather, and make sure you can climb it and back before the last bus, or you will sleep on the mountain. Bring lots of water, snacks, and oxygen. It will take 4-7 hours to climb ONE WAY, depending on your ability.

This mountain is the reason this entire area is known. We couldn't travel up it due to the weather, but there are trails leading to it from various neighboring sites like small market towns, temples, and shrines. You can catch glimpses of its majestic beauty from everywhere. Seeing it at an angle where the sun glistens off its snow-capped peak is a real treat.

Absolutely awesome! Great views, fun challenge, nice people and overall a very unique experience.
I would say that you have to be fairly fit to make it to the top and you need at least decent hiking boots/shoes.
The hut we stayed at was nice and cosy. Make sure you bring most of the snacks/drinks you need because it is pretty expensive already at the 6th station.
But if you like nature and a physical challenge then Mt. Fuji is definitely worth it!
I will be back! ❤️
The Numazu Deep Sea Aquarium is a worthwhile destination for admirers of deep sea creatures. It features tanks containing a variety of well-maintained deep and shallow sea fishes, as well as invertebrates. The most notable exhibits include the dark room viewing of luminescent fishes from the deep sea and preserved specimens that come in blue and red colors, with hard bones stained red while soft ones are stained blue.
A must-visit in Numazu, likely one of the surprisingly best aquariums I’ve visited ever. We visited two hours before close on a weekday and there was a steady flow of visitors but it wasn’t too crowded at all. Compared to the chaos of the Osaka Aquarium that I visited last month, this was a much nicer experience.
Every tank is set up with so much care, and there is lots of information about the fishes. If you don’t know Japanese you’ll have to translate but it was no problem! My favorite exhibit was the isopod and ancient fish.

The exhibition at this aquarium was very nice. However, there are two problems. One is that the only payment method is cash. The second is that the staff's response is not good. The staff at the admission ticket office responded according to the manual, and the five-member family customer in front of me pitifully stopped admission and went home. The staff who guides you at the entrance cannot guide you smoothly. As a result, the passage before going to the back of the building became a large line, and many people complained. The end of the large line was very empty. I was disappointed. The inside of the aquarium was vacant and comfortable, unlike the area near the entrance. The exhibition of deep-sea fish was also devised. It was fun to watch.

THE COOLEST AQUARIUM I HAVE EVER VISITED! I like aquariums and museums. And this place has got great mix of both. They have very interesting deep sea creatures that you don’t find in regular aquariums and great ways of showing them. And the highlight of this place is their coelacanth museum! I don’t know anywhere else that you can see frozen coelacanths or a fish print of it. It was so cool. If you like aquariums or deep sea, this is a must visit place.

A great petit deep sea aquarium worth to visit. Tanks containing deep and shallow sea fishes as well as invertebrates are maintained very well. My highlights are dark room viewing of deep sea luminescent fishes and beautifully preserved fishes that come in blue and red. It says hard bones are stained red and soft ones by blue. They not just attached scientific interest but are really piece of art!
I would say relatively high admission of 1,600 pays considering its quality. Enjoy!

Fantastic little aquarium. Lots of Japanese tourists but almost no foreign tourists at all. It has the most extensive coelacanth exhibit and a wide variety of deep sea animals. Entrance fee is 1600 yen per adult. Queue can be a little long because the start of the exhibit requires you to queue up but the line moves quickly as people are very polite. A must go if you are in Suruga bay. Lots of restaurants around after you are done. Keep your ticket as sometimes the restaurants offer discounts when you show the ticket.

Very wonderful place to visit! You may spend 60-90 mins or more if you like. Opened in 2012 and getting popular once NHK, national broadcasting, released the video that captured gigantic squid alive in the deep sea.
Top features: 1) Coelacanths (both frozen and stuffing): Very rare in Japan due to strict trading rules these days. Those are imported before the regulations were effective.
2) Bathynomus giganteus
3) Fresh local deep sea creatures (Suruga bay is the deepest bay in Japan.)
One staff answered my questions so sincerely and in details. So nice! It seemed staffs are proud of and enjoy working there. They are effectively displaying all creatures, and hold some presentations (Japanese only by staffs).
Overall, kids must love this place and even some adults can enjoy a lot surely. Highly recommended place to visit! Note that weekends are so crowded. Go in the morning or weekdays. ;) Enjoy!

It is a cute small aquarium, roughly would take 1.5 hours and 2 hours if you are really into learning deep sea. Beside the deep sea, they also some shallow reef organisms. The route is clear, tanks are diverse with clear Japanese and English explanation. They are keeping flapjack octopus and seems doing a good job on extending the cultivate period. The best part will be the collection of Coelacanth specimen, they are exhibit a dry one and two frozen.

(Translated by Google) I went on May 4, 2023. As expected, it was crowded as it was Golden Week. I was planning to go to the deep sea aquarium with my kids, but the line was so long that I gave up. After eating, we went up to the large water gate ``Viewo'' and looked out at the sea and the city from the observation deck. When I got off on the opposite side of the port, I was able to go to the park. I took a walk and went back through Viewo again. At the end, we played on a sandy beach. There were small fish and the kids seemed to be having fun chasing them.
There were a lot of dragonflies, so you might want to be careful not to get attacked.

Shiraito Falls is a wide and unique waterfall located in the picturesque Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park. Despite being only 20 meters high, it is incredibly captivating due to its hundreds of individual streams that span across a 150-meter-wide rockface, resembling flowing white threads. Visitors can also enjoy breathtaking views of Mount Fuji and Suruga Bay from the daring Mishima Skywalk, which is the longest footbridge in Japan.
Beautiful Waterfall.
Remind me of my motherland Nepal.
The scene is really awesome and worth to watch.
I was very lucky that i saw a rainbow coming out from the waterfall.
The souvenir shop were also very unique.
Very beautiful waterfall on the lap of Mt fuji.
We were too lucky , after enjoying the beautiful nature we were also about to flew in the sky i.e paragliding.

Very beautiful 🤩! Perfect timing too, just before the fog rolled in. Take a look for yourself! I like that they have observation areas to take pic for the perfect shot. Restrooms are neat and clean. The small shops have a lot to offer for souvenir prices of course. A neat little fruit stand with fresh tasty samples to try.

Beautiful spot to drop by and watch the falls for a while. Parking at the main lot is ¥500, but I think there were cheaper options a bit further away. The wall to the falls is an easy one, but has a lot of stairs so it isn't wheelchair friendly.

Fantastic waterfall which is very beautiful and relatively easy access. It is also dog friendly which is a big plus if you have one. I visited in the winter and it was still accessible. Highly recommended if you are in the area and looking for a natural beauty spot.

Parking is really easy, we paid 500 yen, then a short walk (arround 5 minutes) on a paved walkway to get to the falls.

This is one of my top favorite waterfalls in Shizuoka prefecture located in Fujinomiya. The waterfall is so magical, once you arrive here it's like you wanna stay for long that's how I felt. The falls rushing down, the clear water, the greenery..the beauty of nature at its best. This is just a few walks from the parking area which costs ¥500, but the falls itself has no entrance fee. One of the best thing on this place is that you can get a beautiful view of the majestic Mount Fuji and there is also another falls on the other side, the Otodome Falls. There are also cafes, souvenir shops and a fruit stand along the way. The place is well constructed that makes it easy to walk to have a closer look to the waterfall. Will surely visit again soon and this must be included on your must to go places here in Japan.

One of the Japan’s most beautiful waterfalls, located at the foot of Mt Fuji at the Shizuoka Prefecture side. This is a well maintained tourist sport and connected to Fujinomiya station by local buses. There are cafes and souvenir shops around the fall. This is a must visit place for nature lovers in the Fuji area.

I visited Shiraito Falls on a misty evening and this place was magical. I am sure it is beautiful no matter when you come. And also amazing place to see a real beautiful view of Fuji. There might be bigger more beautiful falls in the world. But the falls coupled with the Fuji views in the background (from one of the platforms) makes it a truly amazing sight to behold.

One of Japan's leading waterfalls, visited by many foreigners as well. It is beautiful, magnificent, and never fails to captivate its viewers.
There is a paid parking lot, and it is relatively easy to find a parking spot even if you come by car.
Additionally, there are restrooms, eateries, and souvenir shops available. Personally, I felt that the waterfall with the sound-blocking effect had a greater volume of water and a more impressive presence.
There is a souvenir shop that sells Akita Inu merchandise, and luckily, I was able to witness adorable Akita Inu puppies playing there.

Perfect clear view of Fuji-San. On the drive to the waterfall, you get your first view of how great the mountain. However, when I saw the waterfall and climbed down to the water's edge, it was so beautiful and hard to take in. Honestly between Fuji-San and Shiraito no Taki, i wouldn't be able to confidently choose which one was the better, as they compliment eachother. On another note, as I went in winter and public transport is not that straightforward to the falls, there were only 1 foreign tourist family and a few Japanese families that made the experience very nice

I've lived in Japan for a while now, so if something can still take my breath away, it's truly amazing. I recommend going from the shiraito falls entrance rather than the one nearer to the other falls. The landscape slowly and majestically reveals itself from behind the trees, compared to the "instant gratification" reveal you get coming from the other side.

It was.
As for parking, a neighbor provides a temporary parking lot (1000 yen per day) on the premises, so you can park almost anywhere. However, it is not paved, so please be careful with wheelchairs and strollers.
There are rows of cherry trees along the river, and there are food stalls dotted along the way, so if you want to enjoy eating while walking, if you eat your fill at first, you won't be able to continue.
If you want to take a walk towards Shimoda, the coast is also a good option.

The Toi Gold Mine, a centuries-old historic site, offers an exciting adventure for families with children. Although the journey to reach this landmark may be long, it is worth visiting. Visitors can explore tunnels and participate in panning experiences while admiring a vast gold nugget. Additionally, the well-maintained garden and museum within the mine provide interesting English explanations about its history. Most thrillingly, visitors can also pan for their own gold during their visit!
Very interesting, historical and relaxing walk through an old mine. English language on most info signs. Takes about 45 minutes to walk through the mine, and about 45 minutes for the "panning for gold" activity. Tiny gold pieces can be found fairly easily. The park is fun for kids and adults. If you're already in the area, then it's worth the visit.

Interesting history. The mineral mines in this area really made this place prosperous. It was fun learning about the mine and panning for gold. The garden was also very beautiful and picturesque. They have gold foil ice cream. There’s no taste to the gold but the ice cream was delicious. Good place to stop if you’re in the area. Their restaurant is open from 11:00-15:00 with last order at 14:30. There are food trucks in the parking lot.

In May 2022. We had a car to reach the gold mine, so it was convenient. Reaching it by bus might be more complicated as there are a few.
The entry fee was 1000 jpy per person, a bit more if you want to do the gold activity (which seems famous to the kids).
It was interesting, but the visit was quite short. I wouldn't recommend going unless you are in the vicinity.
Sebastien Marchand — Google review
Creatively illustrated process of gold mining procedures that was carried out in the past here. Apart from the tunnel visit, you also get to experience the process of filtering gold from the ore. It's sort of a back bending activity, however worth trying.

Interesting place to visit, one can understand the gold mining history of Japan from here.
The tunnels created for gold mining is kept and maintained for the visitors to walk around and see.
Through out the tunnel models are displayed explaining the life of miners.
There is a nice museum near, highlights are 12kg and 250kg gold. Visitors can touch and lift it(if you are strong enough).
Another attraction is the gold panning, at an extra cost we can try out luck in gold panning at the area provided near the gift shop.
One can get some interesting Omiyage from the gift shop here.
Overall a good experience worth the time for kids and adults.

It is located in a rural area called Toi in the west Izu area. This place has historic importance of once being the second most productive gold mine in Japan. The tour preserves the history of mining and difficulties involved for the labourer working under the ground which had been subjected to extreme conditions of seepage of hot springs and hot lack of oxygen. The story is told with the help of mechanically animated models. They also have a gold panning experience which allows you to pan as much of gold as you want in 30 mins.
Chaitanya Krishna — Google review
"mining" gold is kind of a bit too short. They also use fake flowers for their "gods". It's very interesting to hold the world's biggest gold bar. 1000yen for the golden ice cream. Please buy from the grandma who is selling her handmade crafts within the Toi Gold Mine.

It’s quite a journey to get there, but good fun for kids. There’s a large, well-maintained garden, interesting museum in the original mine (with English explanations) and a chance to pan for your own gold.

Visited on New Year's Day. [Note] Parking lot available. (Actually 500 yen) Can't park bicycles? There is a toilet. Admission is free. (There are some paid areas)
There are a few things to keep in mind. (When visiting New Year's visit)
1. Unlike usual, all parking lots are unavailable. There is a temporary parking lot (free of charge) located a few kilometers away. A shuttle bus is available from there for 500 yen round trip. They depart every 8 minutes. It's quite a distance to walk, so it's better to consider that the actual parking fee is 500 yen. There are a lot of buses, which is helpful.
2. Climbing the stone steps to reach the main hall is extremely taxing on the body, so it is better not to do so. There are nearly 300 steps, and the height of the stairs is quite high, so it is quite a burden. I tried it because I was working out, but I ended up having an asthma attack partly because I kept my breaks too short.
3. As a way to bypass the stairs, we recommend using the cable car-like elevator, which runs once every 20 minutes. Alternatively, you can use a shared taxi for a fee (250 yen per person). The climb will be well worth the cost.
In addition, when I spoke to one of the chief priests, I found that there is no particular meaning in climbing the stairs to worship (although it is true that stairs were part of the official worship route in the past, (It is said that it will not lead to any blessings.) Therefore
★I was told that it would be ok to pray in the most suitable way according to one's own physical condition and physical strength.

When I go to temples in the mountains I'm going there partly to see the cool architecture and partly to experience the natural environment. As a result, I couldn't tell you much about the Buddhist history or whether the explanations or services were of lower high quality, but I can tell you that this is a very scenic location. I visited in late December when snow had fallen a little but in the lower areas everything had melted off, and it was quite scenic. You can hike to the top of the mountain or you can take the ropeway, and you have the same choice to go down. If you have time, I strongly recommend hiking down, because it's just a nice area to enjoy, what with the forests and vast expansive views. On a good day, Mount Fuji is visible from the summit.

And what a sight it was to see Mt Fuji tower over the bay. I can absolutely see why it's listed as one of the 3 legendary sights!! Also featuring a kitty sitting atop a rock like a god himself.

Miho no Matsubara (三保の松原, Pinery of Miho, Pine grove at Miho) is a scenic area on the Miho Peninsula in Shimizu Ward of Shizuoka City, Japan. Its seven-kilometre seashore is lined with pine trees. It is the location of the legend upon which the Noh drama Hagoromo is based; on the second Saturday and Sunday of October, the city of Shizuoka holds a Hagoromo Festival and a performance of the Noh drama takes place near the pine tree of the legend.

The pine Grove is really a board walk to the beach. The beach is black volcanic gravel. The view of Mt Fuji didn't disappoint. Not all the cafes were open so there was no option for black tea and sandwiches or cake.

Miho no Matsubara is a breathtakingly beautiful destination in Japan that exceeded all my expectations. Located in Shizuoka Prefecture, near the iconic Mount Fuji, it offers a unique and magical experience for nature lovers.
Upon arrival, I was immediately captivated by the majestic views of endless pine trees, stretching along a mesmerizing coastline. The sweeping landscape had an ethereal quality, which made me feel like I had stepped into a pristine painting.
Walking along the sandy beach, I couldn't help but marvel at the awe-inspiring waves crashing against the rocks. The rhythmic sounds coupled with the fresh salty air provided a serene and calming experience. It was incredibly therapeutic to simply sit by the shore and observe the power and beauty of nature

I must vist place in Shizuoka. Go in winter and also don't be disappointed if you can't see Fuji. Wait for a while the weather is really fickel around mount Fuji so you never know it might clear in a couple of hours
PS check the weather forecast before going.

It very nice place to see Fuji mountain but make sure to plan a full day for this trip if you plan to take a photo of the mountain. It was not visible when we arrived at 9am and only by 4pm we could see something. There are plenty of things to do around and nice sashimi places

A very good place to visit for those who love beautiful scenery.
I recommend you to visit on a sunny day when Mount Fuji will not be hidden by the clouds and you will able to enjoy a perfect scenery of Japan.

My 4th visit to the Miho-no-Matsubara was back in January 2021. My 5th visit was in April 2023 where I visited the entire coastline from the pine grove all the way to the northern tip where we can also see the Miho Lighthouse. Along the entire coastline, you can catch many views of Mt. Fuji with different compositions. Even if the weather is cloudy, be patient as the offshore winds blow the clouds making Mt. Fuji visible throughout the day. Naturally, a clear day during winter is the best chance to catch clear views of Mt. Fuji. In addition, the walking trails extending all the way from the lighthouse to the the pine grove is very nice and relaxing. The nearby parking lot behind the visitor's center is free. For an even more immersive experience, I've detailed each photo location with helpful Google Maps links, along with fascinating historical information and references for further exploration over at the Pix4Japan blog post dedicated to Miho-no-Matsubara.

This is the beach for you if you are one of those who needs privacy to enjoy your beach time.
Yes you got it right, this beach has pine trees forest lined up on one side and as it should be water on the other.
Being a high tide time, the waves kept approaching the shore and we had the best time of the little beach experience that we have.
Access is no issue for this place. We visited it from Yokohama and there is this one long road along the ocean side all the way through odawara.
Visit this on a clear sky day and get a view of the one and only Mt. Fuji. Unfortunately for us it was cloudy and we could only get a momentary glimpse of it.
Enjoy your beach time. Fully recommended. I will visit again, for sure!!!

Kunōzan Tōshōgū, a picturesque Shinto shrine established in 1617, is a must-visit in Shizuoka Prefecture. It honors Tokugawa Ieyasu, the founder of the Tokugawa Shogunate and a key figure in Japanese history. The shrine's serene ambiance and stunning architecture make it an ideal place to pay respects to this influential leader.
It was very interesting since the ride to the hill shared very interesting facts. It has a lot of cool stuff owned by the shoguns in the Edo period in the museum too! It made me take a lot of pictures. You should go if you like visiting shrines.

Beautiful shrine and tomb of Tokugawa Ieyasu. Amazing views of the Shizuoka bay as well as the Mt. Fuji. Look for the upside down Tokugawa emblem that represent the unfinished and imperfect nature of beauty. Illumination of the shrine during November. Take the rope way, walking up to the top could be a challenge. A must see when in Japan

The Kunozan Toshogu shrine is worth a visit if you're in the area. It's historically significant and also really rather impressive. The steps up the hillside can be a chore (take a bottle of water with you), particularly in warm weather.

Historical place. Somehow, it is popular to Japanese because of very famous drama. It seems like this shinsa was the filming location. The shinsa was full of Japanese. Many of them came to pray and meditate. It looked good that elders and youngs visited for their pray. The flowers at the shinsa were blooming, so now migut be a real good time to go visit.

A popular shrine in Shizuoka, it is a respectful shrine, you can feel the peaceful of the place and a view of the sea is also nice. There are two ways how to reach this shrine, by ropeway or by car. I love this place 😍

quite like it here - it's quiet and calm, then was able to walk around with a peaceful mind and enjoy the environment. but i went there at a late time so some entrance to the temple was already blocked, i was only able to look at it from outside. but it's beautifully built. the stairs were quite large and high, so had to walk carefully especially for elderly. i spent around an hour here but i think when it's in operation hour like around noon? when all the temples are open and welcome for worshipping, it'd be good to spend more time here to refresh and relax both body and soul here.

Should be top of the list when visiting Shizuoka! Tokugawa Ieyasu is a big deal in Japan, and it’s awesome to learn about his origins in the Shizuoka area, visit his tomb, and see his personal collection of items in the museum. This is the original Toshogu shrine where Ieyasu’s body is buried. The Nikko one was built later. We had a special tour to go inside the main hall which was amazing.

A shrine of significant historical importance which is well worth visiting if you are already at Nihondaira. If you take the ropeway, it'll only take about 5 minutes each way. There is a car that comes every 15 minutes. If you came here by car, be wary of the bus timetables.

I really enjoyed my visit to this shrine. It was very moving to be able to explore it and see the grave of Tokugawa.
We took the rope way from Nihondaira and then walked down to the coast afterward.
While i was there, there was a ceremony going on in the main temple for a newborn baby which was very interesting and educational for me to witness.
We also went into the museum which was incredible. They have many personal items that belonged to Tokugawa and his descendants along with the armor worn by many individuals of his family line and swords that were used by them as well. It was very cool to see them and left a very strong impression.
There are also some amazing views of the town and coast below the shrine.
I highly recommend coming here if you have the opportunity.
