Breathtakingly beautiful. The coast is super rocky and can get very windy, but the color of the water is just beautiful. Lots to explore and see, including rocky areas that you can climb around on and find hidden rock pools. Be sure to wear proper shoes because it’s very easy to trip over.

An absolute breath taking view. The coast and even the nature around it are all stunning. There is a lighthouse which you can climb up and a suspension bridge. The cliff coastline is made of volcanic rock, which in itself is a marvel. Parking does cost, but it is only ¥500 which goes towards taking care of the coast.

Awesome place.
So this was not in my initial plan, I thought it will be okay however we visited this place out of surprise to ourself🤣
Real Destination- New York Lamp Museum
Forest path out side of NYLM, now there are two ways of you want some extra stress on your leg and want to just on rocks near the ocean then take the long route, if you are just looking for forest walk and direct reach to the destination then go for the small path- I personally liked the small path it's peaceful but may be teens and kids will like the long one.
Walk is good so have your camera with you.
Now there are three things to see one is the suspension bridge second is the rocky coat ( long route) next is the light house view.
Parking area is big 2 parking is available.
Not sure about the charges.
It's nice place to visit. Fresh air and blue sky beautiful scenery.

Breathtaking views. Beautiful drive. Easy access. 500 yen parking. Good for photo shoots and a stop along the way of a trip. But not enough to make a day of.

Nice location, parking costs 500. Lighthouse closes at 4pm, so be early. Other than that, not much to be seen, but it is a great place to relax.

Really pretty bridge, cliffs, seas views, there are even places rock climbing. But it is mostly trad climbing and you gotta bring your own gear. Just FYI. Great date spot too. 😉💕

From Jogasaki-Kaigan Station, I came walking to this wonderful viewpoint. The impact of the waves to the rocks gives such a wonderful atmosphere to this place that really feels like an adventure. There are some nice shops around to spend around half a day. This place was a surprise during my Ito visit, highly recommended to come here and take a look, it does really feel like an adventure!

This place is lush green and has rocky beach. To reach the coast you will need to do a short trek. The place seems to be end of land. It is a beautiful place to go any time around the year. Highly recommended for people sorting peace and a little adventure.

Decent coastal views, nearest parking lot has ¥500 parking fee for the entire day.

Nice coastal walk. There is a light house with free access to the top enroute. The suspension bridge made a great photo point esp if take from shore.

The trail is fairly easy with proper shoes and offers breathtaking views of the sea and uniquely shaped cliffs. Went on a Monday, so it was not crowded at all. Unfortunately, the Kadowaki Lighthouse was not open to the public at that time. Be careful when taking pictures at the cliff edge since there are almost no barriers.

Beautiful place with stunning views of the coast and the place is not crowded which is a blessing ✨️. There's no entrance fees to enter here and the parking is 500¥ per entry.

It's surprisingly beautiful, and the suspension bridge is not too long. I was able to cross the other side without having a nervous breakdown😆👍✔️💯

This place was more beautiful than I thought!!
Personally the bridge was super scary, but there are many other photo spots too.
It's a pleasantly long hike (felt just right, not too short, not too long)
(Translated by Google) It is not a tourist destination and is a scenic spot in the metropolitan area where there are fewer people and you can enjoy nature to the fullest.
In other words, it is an inconvenient place that can only be reached on foot, so it takes a certain amount of time.
There are some dark tunnels along the way, so a flashlight is essential. A smartphone light will not help.

It took about 30 minutes from the expressway to reach the Yushin Valley parking lot, and from there it took about 3 hours to climb the mountain on foot.
After passing through two pitch-black caves, you'll be exhausted from the deep-blue scenery! The fatigue was blown away.
On the way home, you will have to walk quite a bit...it will be tiring, so be sure to prepare accordingly!
When I changed my shoes after going down the mountain, I saw that Yamabiru was sucking blood, so don't forget to take precautions against Yamabiru! Don't go there wearing short sleeves and short pants if you feel like sightseeing!

This is a very beautiful valley along the Kurokura River in Tanzawa.
It is approximately 9km from Kurokura Tanzawako Visitor Center to Yushin Lodge (currently closed), and the round trip is approximately 19km.
It's not difficult as you just walk along a gentle forest road. However, there are slippery areas and falling rocks, so we recommend that you prepare appropriate clothing and footwear.
The scenery is spectacular, so you won't feel tired even if you walk for a long time.
You can enjoy cherry blossoms in spring and hydrangeas in early summer, but the recommended season is autumn. The cool air feels good while walking.

(Translated by Google) Yushin Blue is currently unavailable! !
I visited in April 2020.
At the end of March 2020, the forest road to Yushin Valley was fully opened, so you can still go to Kumaki Dam.
However, the point to be careful is that everyone, including myself, is probably looking for Ushin Blue.
Unfortunately, both Kurokura and Kumaki dams were unable to store water due to a disaster several years ago and are now completely drained. Therefore, Yushin Blue cannot be seen.
According to the website, water storage will start again around January 2020, so I think we'll be able to see Yushin Blue again after that.
I'm looking forward to that day.
I visited at the end of April because I had some free time during Golden Week and because I wanted to check the current situation.
It is about an hour and a half walk from the free parking lot next to Kurokura Shoten to Kurokura Dam. It takes about 3 hours to get to Kumaki Dam.
There are toilets and vending machines next to the parking lot, so make your final preparations here.
The journey seems to be a series of very gentle climbs, but it doesn't feel strenuous.
The road is well maintained, but there are traces of falling rocks in some places.
If there is a direct hit during this year's typhoon season, I don't know what will happen again.
Even if you can't see Yushin Blue, it's a good hike in terms of route and time, and the scenery is good, so I recommend it.
Above all, there are not many people! ! I guess this is the most appealing thing. Even though it was during Golden Week, I only passed a few people.
It's a nice and quiet place.

Izu Granpal Park is a large amusement park with attractions such as a 3D maze, zip lines and walk-on-water balls. It's great for families with kids and is close to Tokyo.
Playground areas are great for many ages. Our toddler grandson enjoyed this area and we didn’t pay extra for rides. The entrance fee is cheaper if you buy online unless you are 70 or older. I paid the reduced rate close to 1000 yen at the gate. My son and his wife paid online. There are many rides and you pay extra for each. There weren’t many for under 3 years old, we stayed in the playground area where there were picnic tables and restrooms nearby. My daughter-in-law took the toddler down the very big, long slide on her lap. It was not too fast and free. The dinosaur area was fun. There are steps to go over the go carts, so it is not stroller friendly.

Nice Illumination. But all park eating establishments are closed because it's not peak season.

Very good for younger kids. But the zip line is only for kids over 30kg. You have to pay for all rides plus entry fee. There are a couple of restaurants in inside for lunch too.

An authentic theme park in Izu, recommended to families with children aged between preschoolers to single digit ages. Access is a bit remote for non-drivers due to lack of returning bus transportation between Izu-Kogen station, so better access with your own car. The park itself is nice and fond of inexpensive or free attractions, but it may be pricey as a whole if you let your kids go wild. The 400m zip line is really cool.

Thanks for many prior reviews. Big help.
Parking is free for Illumination hours. Parking lot looks big too. You’re supposed to retrieve paper ticket at ticket counter by showing the e-mail sent to you when you buy ticket online. Rebate is available online.
Many fun attractions, separate charge - cycling, cart, balloon, flying chair and children's playground (FOC) and many others.
Restaurants choices and food stalls are available too.
Chairs, swings and benches are available here and there.
Lavatories are located near restaurants area and entrance.
The park is compact but the walk is very entertaining. Very much recommended. Even children will have lots of fun from day time.
Entrance and exit is through the same wicket.
Even visiting solo is fun.

We have been there on a Golden week this year with our kids and found it very attractive and amazing. The part has lots of both paid and free of charge attractions for everyone even for adults.
The food area also has enough shops where you can eat taste food and of course desserts.
Very recommended for families with kids and couples as well.
Not so far from Tokyo, about 2 hours drive by car.

An absolute must do, even for an overnight stay as a short get away from Tokyo. Allow around 2 hours to explore everything and bring a battery pack for your phone - you'll take a lot of pictures. If you're relying on public transfer check the bus timetables before you go in so you can get back home! It's a magical place with lots to see.
Maria Baker — Google review
You pay to get in but you still have to pay for most of the rides. But there is also a long slide and huge trampolines that kids can enjoy for free. My kids were hopping on trampolines almost the whole time. They have different kinds of restaurants inside such as Korean, Japanese and American but I guess they are all open during the weekends and busy season. My kids wanted to go on the zip line but they weren’t tall or heavy enough for the ride. Getting in zip line and seeing the view is definitely something!
It’s also nice to go at night and see the illustrations.

Izu Shaboten Zoo is a unique combination of botanical garden and zoo, featuring 1,500 different types of cactus and succulent plants from around the world. Visitors can learn about cactus cultivation and even take part in a cactus caring course. The zoo area is home to approximately 140 species of animals, including spider monkeys, parrots, and capybaras that roam freely and can be fed and petted by visitors.
Highly recommend this zoo for everyone!!!
All the animals and plants are so cute. You can feed the animals, some of them will let
you pet them. I love cactus plants , the mini cactus farm and the Hinamatsuri cactus are beautiful.

I visited on a very wet and cold spring day, but I still managed to enjoy it. There were some places under cover, there were free umbrellas to borrow and even an outdoor heater to gather around. However, I recommend taking warm, waterproof clothing with you as the zoo is on a mountain. There is a lot to see, and many animals to feed but it is a bit expensive at 2800 yen per adult. Public transport too and from the site is available but isn't very frequent. So, plan your bus times and stick to them.

Lots of animals that you can feed!
But it's quite expensive and the bit of food costs 200¥
Huge variety of cacti, and there was a capybara onsen!

The animals were adorable here. Especially the capybara hot spring. I think the entry fee is fairly priced as well as the food. Which exceeded my expectations, I got udon for lunch it was delicious. I will say that the gift shop however is a bit too over priced in my opinion.

Must visit if you aroud this area. I would say is better than mt omuro which just beside it. U can really touch the animals and all of them are cute. Not the mainstream lion tiger animal here, but all lovely cute animals. Definitely worth it. Spend around 2hours to walk whole park and photos . Remember to keep your cable car ticket for discount!

We have been to a lot of zoos, so this one was a little disappointing. The entire place could use fresh coats of paint and some cleaning- especially the penguin enclosure and the Prarie dog enclosure. With that being said, there are many opportunities to feed and pet the animals, which my daughter especially enjoyed. We really loved the red panda area- you can get a great look at them as they explore around you. The area has plenty of shaded walkways, and several really good food areas. There is a huge variety of cactus growing throughout the zoo- pretty impressive! There is an icecream shop at the entrance that has cactus icecream. The bird paradise is also a rat paradise, so be on the lookout because they are everywhere. If you are looking for a small animal, hands on zoo, this is an ok option.

One of the most interactive animal experiences I have done in Japan.
Not only can you pet and feed numerous types of animals but the wide open layout of the zoo is a refreshing sight compared to seeing many animals enclosed.

It's not the easiest place to get to if you don't drive. Otherwise, the zoo has gorgeous views at the mountain and ocean. The capybaras are definitely the highlight of the zoo! Make sure you check the zoo's website for the capybara bath schedule and don't miss it!
Ray Chu — Google review
If you want to see the capybaras in their iconic hot tub setting make sure to come during bathing season. It starts in November and runs till spring. Otherwise you’ll only encounter them in the petting zoo area, which is however also quite cool.

The best zoo ever! Lots of opportunities to pet and feed capybaras, baby goats, llamas and more. Loved feeding little fishes to the otters. Birds including peacocks roam free. Capybara spa says it is only open in winter, but was still open when we went in late April.

A zoo that lets you pet many of the animals and let them roam freely around you. Famous for it's Capybara onsen during the winter season. Able to see Mt Fuji on clear days!

Quite a sizeable zoo with many different areas and animals. The charm of the zoo is that they don’t have any large animals, but they showcase a lot of other medium and smaller sized animals that are just as interesting.
The capybara onsen bath only occurs during the winter months and is definitely one of the highlights of the zoo. For most of the exhibits, they also allow you to purchase food so that you can feed the animals yourself. You could definitely spend a few hours here strolling through all the exhibits.
Ong Yihao — Google review
They have Capybera onsen everyday during the winter. Be sure to check the official website for the schedule. It's only between 1:30-2:30 PM for weekdays when we went. There was a big crowd that died down after 20 minutes. Plenty of other cute animals to see but be aware the zoo chains up all the owls so not the best treatments like most Asian zoos. From Ito station, taxi cost about 4000-5000 yen while bus is 880 yen per person.

We visited Izu zoo on a windy Sunday. The weather was cold and windy but clear sky so we could see the Mount Fuji - through small entrance ( Pedestrian gate) near the Mount Omuro. Zoo was recommended by local friend and it was great visit. There are many animals move around freely in open air and you can feed/ pet them. Many collections of cactus 🌵- as if you are in deserts. Animals food can be bought mostly 200 Yens. We enjoyed the visit very much. Highly recommended place for family fun.
Tips - make sure bring warm jacket for windy weather and cameras 📷 for memorable shots.

From Tokyo (Ikebukuro Station) there are many transfers but it is easy to go to. Then from Ito Station, you can ride a bus or taxi to Izu Shaboten Zoo. The Entrance fee to the zoo is 2,700+ yen.
Edith — Google review
Because they are not ferocious beasts, most animals can run around and interact with people. For 200 yen, you can buy a small amount of food to feed. Reserve minimum 2 hours if you like enjoying all spots.
Mic Mic (little_micmic) — Google review
Really cool place to see Capybara take a nice bath. You are really close to the animals and even though there are many signs which say not to touch the animals, many visitors do so anyway. Some of the exhibits were quite small enclosures for the animals and it seemed like they would be happier with more space. The chimpanzees were outside in 10°C weather and were visibly cold. I would hope that they are able to keep the animals warm enough even during the winter season. I think it was a little too depressing to fully enjoy the trip to this zoo.
The rest stop of Roadside Station Ito Marinetown offers a breathtaking view of the marina and provides facilities such as gas stations, restaurants, and hot springs. Came here on a whim, and liked it. Mid winter and raining, but even still we enjoyed the free outdoor foot onsen. Restaurant food was tasty, and prices were good for any budget. Took the ferry with the under water windows. It was lame and overpriced. There was nothing to see underwater. Taxis are available, and not too far to walk from Ito Station.
Mount Omuro Climbing Chairlifts is a picturesque destination located on the flank of an inactive volcano, where visitors can enjoy spectacular views of Mount Fuji and the sea on clear weather days. The 530-metre-high peak provides breathtaking panoramic sights that can be reached via a safe and thrilling chairlift ride. A 20-minute trail at the summit offers an opportunity to explore further, while archery adds to the excitement.
It's only 530 metres high, but the views are magnificent. The ride up and down in the chairlift is totally safe and fun, but exciting too as it feels a little scary. Wrap up warm as it's exposed at the top.

Visited at 9 am on a weekday in early July. The moment I see Mt. Omuro while driving, my tension rises. We parked in the free parking lot No. 2 where the lift can be seen from the front. There were few tourists, probably because it was first thing in the morning. The lift fee is 1000 yen. The lift is close to the ground, so even those with a fear of heights are fine. You can take a picture just before the summit. Unfortunately, it was a cloudy day, so the view was disappointing, but I challenged the bowl tour. Exactly the view of your name.
The road is paved, so it's easy to walk, but it's still scary.
I managed to go around without going back halfway. The 🚻 at the top is so beautiful. I ate the famous dumplings at the shop, but they bake them after you order them, so you can eat them hot. The return lift wasn't scary at all. It is a must-see that you can experience a 360° panoramic view in about 20 minutes. I would like to see the field burning that takes place every February someday.

What a view!
This is a beautiful place to get 360 degree views of the Izu peninsula.
The cost at 1,000 yen round trip per person for the chairlift is a little steep but given that it's the only way up or down, they get to charge what they want.
At the top, definitely grab yourself some Dango (mochi sweets) main the main store to the right if the lift exit. There is also a classic glass coke machine to try out!
It's recommended to wear sneakers as the 1km walk around the summit can be quite steep. I also would avoid taking children younger than 12 due to the lack of any safety fences at the top. It's quite steep and would be a serious fall.
Make sure to grab some souvenirs on the way out at the gift shop near the bottom of the lift on your way out!

What a wonderful experience! We had to queue about 20-30 minutes to buy our ticket and get on the chair lift. It’s quite a quick ride up. Once you made it up, there’s a little shop and you can walk around the crater in a loop which takes about 30 minutes. I’m scared of heights but it felt fine. They also offer archery on certain days /times inside the crater. It was probaly the highlight of our time in Izu! Obviously, this activity is good only on good weather days. I’d recommend going either as soon as they open to beat the crowds, or about one our before the lift closes to see the sunset. If you have an electric bike, just cycle up to the ropeway ticket counter to save yourself the parking fees and make sure you don’t get stuck as the bus is irregular!

Now good stuff --
1- there are three car parking and one bus parking. Just park it in the first one I saw people rushing for the other two parking which is in front of the Gate. So this can save some time.
2- this place is wheelchair accessible.
3- toilet on the side of Mt Omuro, is again too busy better to use toilet across the road.
4- near buy places are also cool 19 min. Drive to NEW YORK LAMP MUSEUM which is awesome see my review for that..

The Hakone Open-Air Museum, established in 1966, aims to blend nature and art seamlessly. It spans across 77,000 acres of Japanese countryside and showcases an extensive collection from renowned international and local artists such as Miro, Rodin, and Yoshitatsu Yanagihara. Definitely a must see in the autumn. The beautiful fall colors really make this museum magical. I’m additional to the grounds and various statues and exhibits, there is also a Picasso exhibit. We waited in line for 15-20 minutes in the morning on a weekend, which is not too bad. If you can buy tickets in advance, go for it, but still worth the wait. A really nice place to visit while you're in Hakone. There are a lot of interesting pieces of art and we enjoyed walking around on our last morning in the area. I wouldn't say to go out of your way to visit here, but if you have time and you're nearby, it's worth it. The Picasso gallery was very interesting, I was surprised to see that they had so many original pieces in such a remote museum in Japan.
There are quite a few interactive sections for kids. And there is a lot of English.

Really enjoyable, especially if you have a nice weather day. It was extremely windy today but sunny so it was manageable. It’s a beautiful space and the art is interesting. It reminds me of Louisiana Art Museum in Denmark with a less-impressive indoor collection (Hakone’s) although they have a Picasso ceramic exhibit which was cool to see. I’d love to have had coffee/a snack here but it just wasn’t the day for us for that.
If you’re in the area it’s worth it to come here. I don’t know if I’d take a special trip just for this place but to each ‘er own.

Among my favourite museums, wish all museums were open air concepts, refreshing and not stuffy that way. Surrounding mountains were a nice touch, can’t imagine those were easy to install. Even in the winter, the yellowing grass contrasted well with all the exhibits, will absolutely be coming back again soon.
Favourite piece was the metallic wedge of charred humans limbs; very heavy metal. And in contrast to that absolute darkness, my second favourite was the light bending glass tower that to my surprise, was decorated in pictures almost hidden if you don’t look carefully enough. I made it to the top but my battery died, so no picture but I will return in the spring and bring either a phone charger or a briefcase full of batteries to avoid the humiliation I faced carrying around a dead phone.

The reason this place is really nice is because you can take your kids to museum but you don't have to be too worried about making them quiet.
As long as it's a nice weather, you can basically spend the whole day slowly walking around, and let your kids run around.
All the sculptures and the art is also dynamic and is in harmony with the nature.
You cannot get proper food there as there's only hot dog that can be counted as food. He brought small sandwiches for our kids.

There are several facilities designed for children, and many visitors, mostly Japanese people, take their children with them. It’s a nice refreshing stop that can add some fresh air into your trip. I recommend paying attention to the weather forecast as the region is very prone to fog and rain.

It was an absolute delight exploring the vast collection of outdoor sculptures and the captivating works of Pablo Picasso. 🏞️💫
The museum's picturesque setting amidst the stunning Hakone mountains created a serene atmosphere that perfectly complemented the art on display. From the moment we stepped foot into the museum, we were greeted by a world of beauty and creativity. The open-air concept allowed us to appreciate the sculptures in their natural surroundings, and it felt like walking through an artistic wonderland. 🌿🗿
The Picasso Pavilion was a true highlight of our visit. We were mesmerized by the diverse range of Picasso's masterpieces, showcasing his innovative and ever-evolving style. The museum did an excellent job of curating the exhibition, providing insight into the artist's life and artistic journey. It was fascinating to see iconic paintings, ceramics, and sculptures up close, and to witness the depth of Picasso's creativity. 🎭🖌️
What made the experience even more enjoyable was the museum's interactive features. We were able to participate in various art installations and even create our own masterpieces at the workshop. 🎨 The knowledgeable staff were friendly and provided valuable information about the artworks, enhancing our understanding and appreciation of Picasso's genius.

There’s a nice area for kids only (see second photo) but that’s about it for kids. The sculptures are dotted around the compound. It is a nice walk if the weather is good. Perhaps budget 90mins if you wish to do it at a leisurely pace. I was not that impressed by the Picasso exhibit. Adult ticket costs 1600yen.

It’s a sculpture museum featuring lots of open space in a beautiful location that surrounds mountains. superbly maintained landscaped gardens, walkways and well-curated pieces. They have some of Picasso's work. The kids below 12 have areas to have fun too. A brief visit will definitely take a couple of hours. Keep in mind the weather before planning to visit.

No need to get your tickets in advance for this museum. You can get your tickets at the entrance and even if there is a q it moves pretty fast.
More than anything this place is worth visiting as it is a the space is so beautifully designed that it is easy to walk around and gives the impression of vastness.
There space is big yet cleverly integrates art with nature so that even though there are loads of statues and structures, you never feel stifled or overwhelmed. In fact you will want to walk a lot more to take in all of them.
There are loads of outdoor sculptures by various artists and some are rather interesting. Although i think the word art might be a bit stretched here on occasions when you look at the sculptures or when you read the inspiration of these artists behind their work.
Loads of outdoor exhibits and in general 2 big spaces that allow for more interaction.
One is the Woods of Net which has a net structure within a wooden dome structure that allows for children to use it as a sort of net playground that they can climb on and swing on.
The other is a flower petal like maze that you can walk in and try to find your way out, albeit confusing i must say. In the end i walked the same way back out the way i entered instead of finding the other exit.
As for indoor exhibits, there are 3 (Hakone master piece collection, multi hall that is at the exit, and Picasso Pavilion).
I think the one that people generally spend the most time, is at the Picasso Pavillion. Interestingly instead of chronologically displaying his works or capturing it according to his life:
“This latest exhibit deconstructs the artist himself, presenting perspectives from different angles, such as subject matter and technique, and different points in time, by date of the artwork, so that the viewer may then reconstruct their image of Picasso.
For this exhibit, works from the Picasso Collection have been divided into 17 themes, creating a free and natural exhibition space unbound by chronology.
The Picasso of this exhibit is one who defies definition by a single perspective or specific point in time—Picasso as a continuum transcending time and space.”
The one i enjoyed the most was the symphonic structure. There a circular tower captures the four seasons through stained glass that leads you to an open air space on top with a great view of the museum and the trees and mountains beyond.

Absolutely wonderful! Majestic location in the mountains, with an amazing setting of beautifully landscaped gardens, walkways, forest paths, and well-curated pieces of world-renowned artists and sculptors. The mood is serene and calming, and the experience is one of awe and beauty. My family and I spent a few hours, before it closed for the day, and there was still a good bit of exhibition to which we did not get. But, it was a delightful experience, and we will return.

It was worth a visit. It’s a huge area. We spent a little over an hour here. Lots of sculptures. Our favorite was the stained glass tower. It’s tall, beautiful and very instagram worthy. This open air museum is great for the whole family. There is even an interesting playground structure for kids only. There’s also building with Picasso’s work in it but they don’t allow any photographs or video.

We had an incredible time at the Hakone Open-Air Museum. We went on a weekend and there was no waiting at all. The museum is spread out and gives you a lot of space to wonder around. The art pieces are really cool and vary across the site, the Picasso Pavilion was pretty cool as well and the tower with glass cover was incredible to see and experience.

Gora Station is a key transportation hub in Hakone, providing access to popular attractions such as Ashi Lake and Mount Fuji. Visitors can reach Ashi Lake via the Hakone Ropeway or local buses, with accommodation options mainly concentrated on the eastern shore near the ropeway station. On clear days, stunning views of Mount Fuji can be enjoyed from this area.
It is such a beautiful train station in Hakone. The design more like western or Switzerland building than Japanese. Me and family had 3 times visited here and never get bored with everything happened in Hakoke. The fresh air, cleaniness, the people are so nice and very helpful. I will visit again Hakone in the near future. Many places I have not seen during my last visit there.

A nice station that's like the central hub of Hakone. Outside, there are numerous restaurants and other vendors.
At this station, there's the cable car and the train. Though the train itself is pretty slow as it maneuvers through the hillside. It also does something interesting where it stops, reverses and takes another split line. Very interesting indeed.
Otherwise you'll find that overall a pleasant ride.

Kuzuryu Shrine is a shrine dedicated to thenine-headed dragon, believed to reside in adjoining Lake Ashi. The beautiful scenery and nice little shrine makes it not well known to the masses, but it is a must see for anyone visiting Hakone.

Originally established in the year 757, the Nine-Headed-Dragon Shrine [Kuzuryu-jinja] reveres a nine-headed dragon. According to ancient legend, the dragon who lived at the bottom of Lake Ashi demanded a human sacrifice from the local villagers. A monk named Mangan Jyonin saved the villagers by subduing the dragon causing it to renounce its evil ways. The dragon became revered as a dragon king, and these days, a festival is held every year on July 31st to celebrate the nine-headed dragon king.

Nestled in the serene natural beauty of Hakone, Japan, the Pola Museum of Art is a modern museum that boasts a unique underground design and offers visitors a forest trail experience. Established in 2002 by the Pola Art Foundation, this museum showcases an impressive private art collection amassed over 40 years by Tsuneshi Suzuki.
It was so incredible to see Monet's paintings in person. The outside area was really nice to walk through as well. It was so surreal to walk through the trees while the music was playing.

Amazing place. The POLA Museum of Art is a little out of the way, but can be reached easily enough by public bus from Gora station. There is a bus you can catch down the road from the Hakone Open Air Sculpture Museum. It's a good combination of doing these two things together in one day. The POLA Museum has artworks from Monet, Gaughan, Van Gogh, Matisse, Cezanne and plenty of other masters. There is a lovely cafe that makes good strong coffee. You can also get tea and cake. The cafe looks out over some lovely forested areas. It may not be known or be as famous as the large art museums, but it is a treasure. Invest some time and go see this calming but also inspiring place.

Owakudani, also known as Hell Valley, is a geothermic site in Hakone that offers stunning views of Mt. Fuji and the surrounding area. Visitors can take the Hakone Tozan Railway or local buses from Hakone-Yumoto Station to reach this forested and mountainous area. One of the main attractions here is the opportunity to eat black eggs boiled in hot springs, which are said to add seven years to your life for each egg consumed.
Beautiful area with many touristy shops and a museum detailing the local geology which is very fascinating (tix: 100 yen)! There is a nature trail connected to the main complex that requires reservations that provides a look at the local wildlife. Make sure to try the black eggs while you are here as they are delicious!

Black eggs! This oozing, green scar was caused by an eruption thousands of years ago and then there was a horrible mud slide that killed many people 100 years ago. Now they are working really hard to terrace the place. It truly feels like another planet and it smells like hell. I recall a time when you could walk out further to see where they cook the eggs but it’s all blocked off now. I suppose there may have been people who got sick from the noxious gas. I wish more areas were accessible for exploration. Still, I understand that is probably not safe. The ropeway is a great experience especially on a sunny day. We were lucky to catch it at a nice time in February. Looking forward to visiting again whenever we have a chance. Thanks for all the delicious hard boiled eggs over the years 🙏🎉😄

In the Owakudani area near the Hakone volcano there are places where hot smoke comes out of the ground (it's not a geyser) the smell of sulfur which scorches the ground in a yellow color. View of Lake Ashinoko and Mount Fujiyama in Japan. It is amazing, don't miss the cable car ride, boating on the lake and visiting the open museum. It is said that the Japanese cook eggs in the hot springs which gives them a black color. A belief holds that eating one egg adds 7 years to life. The place also has a restaurant and sells ice cream, which is also black in color.

Beautiful place to visit.
The peak is about 1044 meter high and you can see the inactive volcanoes and smokes coming out from the volcano.
However the smoke is very stingy because of its sulphuric property.
You have to take a Cable car in order to get to the top.
One of the most famous food is Black Egg or 黒卵.
The rumor about the black egg is that if you have one black egg then your life expectancy will increase to extra 7 years.
Its really very interesting rumor that almost 95% tourists buy Black eggs.
Really must visit once.

Easy to find, lovely atmosphere (not counting the dreadful smell of sulphur of course😆) . The ride on the gondola was nice and provided a lovely view on approaching the lake. The weather tho obscured Mt. Fuji ☹️
I liked that I could buy a one way or return ticket and use it anytime throughout the day. I do think that ¥2250 (return) is a rather pricey ride tho but I guess it's a tourist attraction.
I didn't like that the minimum number of eggs I could purchase was 5 - felt like a waste of resources since I couldn't eat that many and 3 ended up in the trash.
All round nice experience - I recommend it.

This place looks so great especially while you're inside the ropeway where you can actually see the smokes coming from the mountains on a great angle.
Once you go down, you'll see shops selling souvenirs and some black egg that they believe will add more years to your life if you eat it.
We decided not to stay too long due to the sulfur smell coming from the smokes.
It is a place with a breath taking view that's why it's a must visit site when you go to Hakone.

This place is so beautiful, really wish we would have done a little bit more research on things to do especially that you can walk to the area where the eggs are boiled. Such a nice museum. We went there when it was raining, and it made the museum more mystical. You can see so many glass collections and art, and of course you can also buy it on souvenir shop. They also have classes to make your own glass art. One unique thing, they have a store selling jams! But one thing to be prepared, there is no train heading to this museum, either you take your own vehicle or you take the bus. Which can be nauseating since it has so many winding roads. For people who easily get carsick, be mentally prepared.
Also, if you're a student, you will get student price to enter this museum. I say that's really great deal. Just tell them you're a student and show your student ID.

Tourist trap. Better described as the Impractical Drinking Vessel Museum. You pay 1800¥ to enter what felt like a shop. So, I'd say it's not worth going unless you have a real love for all things venetian glass or have nothing else to do and a pass that lets you get in for free.
A point of redemption was that the grounds were pretty nice and well kept, and there was a lovely place to sit and watch the creek and trees.

Good for a short visit if you have some time to spend around the area, but I wouldn't recommend going out of the way to visit it. It was quite quiet when we were there. The place was quite small, so we completed our round within an hour. The experience workshops require prior reservations, so we didn't try those. Overall, a nice place for some photo taking~

This is Japan’s first art museum specializing in Venetian glass, and exhibits works from the fifteenth to nineteenth centuries and also modern pieces. The pond on the grounds is in between the Venetian Glass Museum and the Modern Glass Museum where you can appreciate delicate glass crafts at each respective museum. Its medieval Venice-inspired garden also has spots where you can take photos. Listen carefully to the live canzone (Italian song) performances held every day while gazing at the scenery from the café restaurant on the grounds and you’re sure to find yourself feeling elegant. They also hold glasswork workshops, making this a spot you can enjoy all day long.

The place was huge with great varieties of glass displays coming from different eras. We came a little late in the afternoon and was able to check the place for an hour although we're not able to see the glass-making shows.

We had an absolutely incredible time here! So creative and delicate with a phenomenal kitchen. Highly recommended experience. A real testimony to the creative spirit and the art of glass making.

Beautiful place! I suggest you visit this place during a sunny afternoon, when the glass beads shine the brightest! It is also pretty at night, but I found the afternoon option do be more beautiful. It IS a museum and has tons of glass artifacts (I am no glass enthusiast, so I didn’t find it any more interesting). However, the artifacts were very unique and pretty. There’s also a shop, which is quite expensive, considering a glass bracelet for around $500! Overall, a great place to go in Hakone!

A great museum to visit. There were lots of unique glass artwork to see. The Hakone free pass also gives you 100 yen off admission. They claim there are free coin lockers but it actually costs 100 yen.

Very pretty place for photos and see the glassworks. Not super impressive and it is a little pricey compared to the rest of the attractions. I preferred my time at the open air museum for my money's worth instead. Some pieces were pretty, some normal, and pretty much a quarter of the time spent at the gift shop to shop for glass and crystals works.

Like all museums in japan, this one is also very beautiful with lots informations. You can get lots of informations about glasses from venetian. The garden is very beautiful, and I would reccomended to go there in the evening, for more lights and beautiful installations around. U can buy lots of souvenirs at the shop located inside the museum. I would say at least spent 2 hours here for full experience. And they offer free lockers

The Hakone Ropeway offers a breathtaking aerial gondola ride above a valley of volcanic craters. Lake ashi is absolutely beautiful! We arrived to togendai after a short bus ride from our hotel. There at the base, lake ashi had the lovely pirate ships coming back into port. Shout out to the Evangelion characters everywhere & the cool human sized figure in the station! Definitely a fan favorite, fun fact the anime is set in Hakone and lake ashi & Owakudani appear in the series 👏🏼
After a short walk enjoying the water front we caught the Hakone Ropeway for a scenic ride up the mountain side, it was Picturesque to say the least. As we got higher in elevation we could see Mt. Fuji with it's donut cloud hats lol As well as plumes of white smoke emerging and bursting out from the area up ahead. When you arrive at the top of Owakudani if your an egg fan you must try the "Kuro-Tamago" as called by locals, aka black eggs or sulfur eggs. There's a legend about life expectancy around them. Shirahama Beach is a popular destination on the Izu Peninsula, known for its bustling atmosphere and stunning natural beauty. The beach features white sand and turquoise waters with picturesque mountain views. It is a part of Shimoda, a charming beach town that offers various attractions such as hotels, restaurants, and beach shacks. While Shirahama Beach is the most popular choice for many visitors, some opt for the neighboring and less crowded Shirahama Ohama.
Beautiful beach. Wide sandy area. Clear and clean water. Many surfers in the water.
Many parking options along beach. I paid 1000 and the lot closed at 4pm (a bit steep - explore other lots). A good idea is to stop at the 7-11 across from the beach, and get some snacks before. Also nice to have clean change rooms and bathroom facilities on site.

White sands and amazing waves. Many facilities, parking lots and convenes stores around. Perfect place for holiday making.
The ebb and tide movement is very strong, even when you place your beach sheet away from the water, from 3-4 pm the tides grow stronger and water can reach to your sheet area so better place your sheet/ tent further away if planing to stay for prolonged time.

It was surreal experiencing the beach at night in off season and under a full moon. It's a very calm, peaceful, and serene beach with pleasant waves. Definitely one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen, with white sand. The waters were really clean and one of the bluest I've ever seen during the day. The beach is also known for surfing and you can see the locals early in the morning riding the waves.

Mostly nice soft sand as you get closer to the water. Tide can come start to rise early (around 2 or 3ish), but there’s still some parts of the beach where you can sit. It can it crowded though there is room for you to have your own space. Parking is 1000¥ right next to the beach and it is limited. There is also parking across the street next to family mart. There are showers also 300¥ for 3 mins (they are in a portable potty).

The Shimoda Ocean Park Hotel is a cozy hot spring hotel with spacious, bright rooms offering ocean views. The friendly and accommodating staff speak English and provide excellent service. The recently renovated bathrooms are large by Japanese standards, and the rooms come with amenities like a fridge, tea, towels, and robes for the onsen. The hotel's location between the town center and Shirahama Beach offers convenience with a bus stop outside the hotel.
Excellent and friendly staff! Front desk clerks spoke English and took time to explain the hours of operations for the onsen, restaurant and lobby. Check in and out was a breeze! Hotel is in great shape. Bathrooms were recently renovated, and very nicely done. Huge by Japanese standards, too! Room was spacious (easily comfortable for a family of 4 with room for luggage even!) and had an excellent view! Fridge and tea was in the room as well as towels and robe for the onsen (yukata). Futon mattresses were the best I've slept on in Japan, although I did double them up (personal preference). View of the ocean is amazing for the price. Road noise was minimal at night, just soft whooshing of passing cars. Road activity picks up around 7am, and some construction started at 9am. Overall, can't beat the price for how great this place is! Location was super convenient too. There's a Jonathan's restaurant and a 711 right downstairs, and downtown Shimoda is a 7-10 minute walk. There's a museum across the street with more food options and a scenic Commodore Perry replica tour ship. Honestly, my stay here was better than the Tokyo Hilton, and at a fraction of the price. This will be my go-to base of operations for all future Shimoda trips. (oh and for motorcycle riders, they have a few spots perfectly situated under awnings right out front, and don't charge for parking)

The Shimoda ocean park hotel was much better than expected. The rooms are large and clean with an ocean view. The onsen have one large bath and a cold tub. There's also a large sauna. The location is between the town centre and shirahama beach. Neither are not really in walking distance but a bus stops outside the hotel. There's a 711 a few metres away and the fish market too. I would happily stay here again.

Shimoda Underwater Aquarium, also known as the Shimoda Floating Aquarium, is a unique sightseeing spot in Shimoda City. It stands out for its distinctive floating structure on the water. Visitors can enjoy dolphin shows and penguin feeding while observing marine life from an underwater viewing deck. The aquarium's main attraction is the Aquadome Perry, a large cylindrical tank that replicates the Izu Sea environment.
Tiny but nice. Worth visiting. Didn't know that penguins could be trained. Dolphins not only live in the pool, but also has their own area of real sea area, which hopefully makes them happier.

Aquarium seems to be quite small, but actually it’s full of attractions. It’s fun to visit for a couple of hours on a clear day. You can get good views of all the fish and other marine animals they have. The dolphin and sea lion shows are also incredible to watch. They were really well-trained and they were doing exactly what they were ordered.

We visited Shimoda Aquarium during our visit to Ito area. It is not a big aquarium but busy enough for whole family to be entertained. We arrived around 1048 and just on time for dolphin show around 11am. Then joined the penguins march show at the 1125. After that seal show 1145. All the shows are entertaining, fun and full of actions ( even though we couldn’t understand the Japanese language). There is a gift shop and cafe near the entrance. Overall we had a good time.

Parking was free. It cost about 2100 yen per adult to enter but once you go in, you will not be disappointed. We saw the dolphin show, the seal (or sea lion, I don't remember lol) and we saw the penguin show. Did I tell you I got to feed a sea otter? That was also an experience. Definitely a place you can go and enjoy to the fullest.
P.S their underwater aquarium is really mesmerizing.
P.S.2 try their Izu Zangi (fried chicken originally from Hokkaido) and their croquet...you won't be disappointed lol

It was very sad to see how wild dolphins are kept in 2.5X2.5 meter water cages to “break” them in order to cooperate. Staff were riding dolphins as if they were horses. It was heartbreaking to see such cruelty. I don’t recommend anyone to participate in such ignorance. I hope they’ll have the kindness and integrity to release all dolphins back to the sea where they belong.
Shlomit Yaish B — Google review
It's a good experience, very fun, and lots of amazing shows within the day. About 55 minutes wait between each show. There's turtles, dolphins, otters, penguins, and seals in the aquarium, as well as smaller sea creatures such as crabs and coral fishes. 🪸 🦭 🌊
Actual Score Overall: 4.1/5
Thoughts: I liked the exhibitions and aquariums inside the park - especially the seals. But it was a bit hot as there was no air-con within the buildings which drived me away after 2h 30min. Overall, I had a good experience. I would visit again.
PS: I don't recommend eating there, quite overpriced, obviously.
Ocean Chan (Seal) — Google review
I had the misfortune to cycle past this place while enjoying a cycling trip around beautiful Shimoda!
At the front entrance is a pool containing two very large sea turtles, this pool is tiny (around 4x4 meters) and the two turtles just swim aimlessly in circles, when I approached one turtle came to the edge of the pool and you could tell from the look it's eye that it was unhappy. There is nothing in this pool, simply tiled walls, tiled floor. It is completely inhumane and cruel. If this is what greets you at the entrance I don't even want to know what's inside the aquarium... but from reading other one star reviews for this place I get a good idea. This place should be SHUT DOWN and all animals either returned to the wild, or if that's not possible, rehomed in an appropriate and caring environment as close to being wild as possible. Japan is a wonderful country with such a focus on the natural world, I simply don't understand how places like this are being allowed to continue to operate. Don't visit this place and send the owners a clear message that this is inhumane!

Great place for families! Dolphins, seals, sea lions, penguins and more. The jellyfish exhibit is a must see. Recommend a half day visit to see everything. Shows are timed so you can go from one to the next with time to view the exhibits. Extra cost for thing like feeding or swimming with the dolphins or seating on a boat for the “Wonder Ocean” show. Nice souvenir shop that was reasonably priced.

The bay that this Aquarium is in is gorgeous. I chose to walk to the Aquarium, and it is a bit of a walk, but very scenic with great views of the mountains.
The aquarium itself is a bit dated, but very clean and well cared for. There are many exhibits, but not as many as you might find in a large city's aquarium.
Shimoda Aquarium more than makes up for this with the beautiful surroundings and environment, and activities like dolphin feeding.

A lovely reminder of what Japan was like before pollution, micro plastics, carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide smog and concrete. Plus, today was a sake festival. It's just such a shame that if you leave the grounds, you come into contact with all of the poisonous, vile void of death quite quickly. But this is Japan, so there's not much which is beautiful and untouched any more.

The Numazu Deep Sea Aquarium is a worthwhile destination for admirers of deep sea creatures. It features tanks containing a variety of well-maintained deep and shallow sea fishes, as well as invertebrates. The most notable exhibits include the dark room viewing of luminescent fishes from the deep sea and preserved specimens that come in blue and red colors, with hard bones stained red while soft ones are stained blue.
A must-visit in Numazu, likely one of the surprisingly best aquariums I’ve visited ever. We visited two hours before close on a weekday and there was a steady flow of visitors but it wasn’t too crowded at all. Compared to the chaos of the Osaka Aquarium that I visited last month, this was a much nicer experience.
Every tank is set up with so much care, and there is lots of information about the fishes. If you don’t know Japanese you’ll have to translate but it was no problem! My favorite exhibit was the isopod and ancient fish.

Near to the bus stop after alighting. About 5min walk. Inside have examples of deep sea life in nearby Japanese waters. Small but informative.

If you are interested in deep sea creature, feel free to visit here. Overall the place is small but for the fees you pay I think it's worth it.

A rare species that you only can see at the deep sea. There's a lot of species we are not familiar, a new in our eyes. It's a quite expensive but you will be amazed when you saw them in actual.

Loved every second of it. Very informative and I learnt a lot about fish and water animals that I had no idea existed!

The exhibition at this aquarium was very nice. However, there are two problems. One is that the only payment method is cash. The second is that the staff's response is not good. The staff at the admission ticket office responded according to the manual, and the five-member family customer in front of me pitifully stopped admission and went home. The staff who guides you at the entrance cannot guide you smoothly. As a result, the passage before going to the back of the building became a large line, and many people complained. The end of the large line was very empty. I was disappointed. The inside of the aquarium was vacant and comfortable, unlike the area near the entrance. The exhibition of deep-sea fish was also devised. It was fun to watch.

THE COOLEST AQUARIUM I HAVE EVER VISITED! I like aquariums and museums. And this place has got great mix of both. They have very interesting deep sea creatures that you don’t find in regular aquariums and great ways of showing them. And the highlight of this place is their coelacanth museum! I don’t know anywhere else that you can see frozen coelacanths or a fish print of it. It was so cool. If you like aquariums or deep sea, this is a must visit place.

A great petit deep sea aquarium worth to visit. Tanks containing deep and shallow sea fishes as well as invertebrates are maintained very well. My highlights are dark room viewing of deep sea luminescent fishes and beautifully preserved fishes that come in blue and red. It says hard bones are stained red and soft ones by blue. They not just attached scientific interest but are really piece of art!
I would say relatively high admission of 1,600 pays considering its quality. Enjoy!

Fantastic little aquarium. Lots of Japanese tourists but almost no foreign tourists at all. It has the most extensive coelacanth exhibit and a wide variety of deep sea animals. Entrance fee is 1600 yen per adult. Queue can be a little long because the start of the exhibit requires you to queue up but the line moves quickly as people are very polite. A must go if you are in Suruga bay. Lots of restaurants around after you are done. Keep your ticket as sometimes the restaurants offer discounts when you show the ticket.

Very wonderful place to visit! You may spend 60-90 mins or more if you like. Opened in 2012 and getting popular once NHK, national broadcasting, released the video that captured gigantic squid alive in the deep sea.
Top features: 1) Coelacanths (both frozen and stuffing): Very rare in Japan due to strict trading rules these days. Those are imported before the regulations were effective.
2) Bathynomus giganteus
3) Fresh local deep sea creatures (Suruga bay is the deepest bay in Japan.)
One staff answered my questions so sincerely and in details. So nice! It seemed staffs are proud of and enjoy working there. They are effectively displaying all creatures, and hold some presentations (Japanese only by staffs).
Overall, kids must love this place and even some adults can enjoy a lot surely. Highly recommended place to visit! Note that weekends are so crowded. Go in the morning or weekdays. ;) Enjoy!

It is a cute small aquarium, roughly would take 1.5 hours and 2 hours if you are really into learning deep sea. Beside the deep sea, they also some shallow reef organisms. The route is clear, tanks are diverse with clear Japanese and English explanation. They are keeping flapjack octopus and seems doing a good job on extending the cultivate period. The best part will be the collection of Coelacanth specimen, they are exhibit a dry one and two frozen.

Numazu Minato Shinsenkan is a charming shopping center that offers an array of dining options specializing in sushi and other seafood delicacies along with local souvenir shops. The mall boasts of delectable fresh seafood and goods that are available in abundance, especially freshly caught fishes, which can be savoured as sushi. The ambiance of the place is delightful, making it a lovely spot to visit for foodies who love seafood.
A relatively new market that sells fish, dried fish and seafood related items. There are also restaurants and sweet shops inside. Great to relax on a hot summer day with AC.

It looks like the ``14th Minato Oasis Sea-Class Gourmet in Numazu'' will finally be held on Saturday and Sunday, October 29th and 30th.👍 Due to the coronavirus, the event has been undecided and has been delayed for a long time, but it feels like my long-awaited dream has finally come true. Is not it. I'm sure he'll be a great resource. I'm also thinking of adjusting my schedule and going somehow. Are you all going out? I’m looking forward to it~(^^)
At Minato Shinsenkokan, you can find tuna sashimi, etc. Dried fish are often bought outside at stores in shopping streets. I always buy horse mackerel, mackerel, and dried soy sauce mirin from Yondaime Yahei, which I will introduce in a separate article next time. Also, the souvenir that I always buy at Minato Shinsenkokan is ``Mekabut Tororo'', which I have also uploaded in the photo👍In the Showa era, it was sold at stores, but recently it has become more difficult to buy it. . “Ajiya” is the only one that sells it at Numazu Port. It's great for everyday cooking and miso soup (^^) Everyone, please try it at least once.

There was a terrace on the port side where some people were taking a break. It might be a good idea to wait on the terrace for the pleasure boat.

The VIEW-O Water Gate is a stunning structure that spans over a concrete canal flood gate, offering breathtaking panoramic vistas of Suruga Bay and Mount Fuji. Visitors can access the observation deck via an elevator for a reasonable fee of 100 yen for adults and 50 yen for children. The surrounding area boasts a bustling fish market with plenty of shops and restaurants to explore, including some excellent options for sashimi.
100yen to view, toilets and free parking located nearby.

Amazing views across Numaza port and city. A must see when visiting the area.
Elevator to the top is only ¥100 for adults, ¥50 for children.
The surrounding fish market area has lots to see and do; with many great shops and restaurants (the sashimi is really good).
Highly recommended for a lovely day out.
Happy Traveller (*.*) — Google review
Numazu Port's View-O Flood Gate provides spectacular day and night views of Numazu City, Shizuoka, Mount Fuji and bodies of water that surround three of four directions. In the day, it is said that you can see Mount Fuji on a clear day. In the night, you are greeted by its luminous colours that light the observation deck and towers that support/move the flood gate, making it a sight in itself of the night.
Unfortunately, I was only able to visit during the night and catch the views during that time. However, with the December night that it was, not being cold on the outside and being warm inside the observation deck, it made for a nice, quiet overlook of the city interior and a hint of Mount Fuji resting behind a partly-cloudy night.
For 100円, you can get many nice photo opportunities up on the observation deck. Even at night, the lights-off interior and mainly-exterior lighting creates a relaxing... and, to some, romantic... ambience/aesthetic.
It's a must-visit during all seasons. Visitors to Numazu should make it a point to stop here and go through both sides of the port's inlet to discover what each side has to offer.

Splendid view of the sea and the town. Although on the day I went there, we couldn't see Mountain Fuji, the place was overall relaxing and there weren't that many people there. The price to get up to the observatory wasn't expensive. The wind was super strong, so if you go there on a specially windy day, be careful not to get anything blown away. The view of the view-o was beautiful looking from outside as well, since the sun was at just the right position, haha. If you're going on a hunt for a Love Live stamp, they have one here!
Numazu Port is renowned for its delectable seafood, with a plethora of vendors offering fresh and dried fish, as well as numerous restaurants serving up gourmet dishes. The orange-billed cormorant is not a particularly rare bird that lives near Niagara Falls, the border between the United States and Canada, or Miami, Florida.
But they also live in Japan.
Although it is "U", it is actually a member of the family Pelecanidae.
He's a friend of Uno.
But why here?
Is Suruga Bay the deepest bay in Japan? Or is it because it's full of horse mackerel?
Suruga Bay is only 2 kilometers from the coast and reaches a depth of 500 meters. The deepest point is a whopping 2,500 meters. That's why you can often catch deep-sea fish here.
Wow, the deep sea is scary after all.

This place is an aging gem. The prices can be beaten and the grounds are naturally beautiful set with Fuji-San as a fantastic backdrop. There are sign of wear and some best-effort managed vegetation growth, but it’s not worth thinking about. The splash pad and water slide were my 4 year olds favorite. Also, the canoe/kayak route is free! It’s a great place to take a leisurely hike around. 5-stars for stress free fun!

It is a nice place to take younger children to enjoy nature and play outdoors. It is best to bring picnic type lunch with you. You can enjoy an entire day outside walking o trails, children riding ponies, trips on the water in boats. There is frisbee golf and grand golf. There is not a lot for you to purchase inside the park so best come prepared with drinks and snacks as needed. If you don’t have children but an a nice place to walk around and enjoy the beautiful scenery this is o e of those places.

My family loves visiting Mt. Fuji Children's world! In August you can visit their beetle exhibit and hold stag or Hercules beetles. My children love the waterside and "ninja" water run. The highlight for us is always the fishing pond, where we catch and grill our lunch, as they will gut the fish you catch. It's a great place to enjoy with kids, lots of beautiful nature to see. Be sure to plan to spend the entire day here, as there is so much to do and you won't want to leave!
