Cute spot, no complaints, could do without the amount of 3-6 year olds running about. And they say Japan has an aging population problem.

This mall is more memorable to me than some others for its unique selection of stores (which tend to be on the pricier side) and its design. It's small enough and sort of maze-like which makes the browsing and window-shopping more interesting.
Ryo Flying — Google review
In here shopping, entertainment and education are well implemented, branded stores specially the japanese line of brand , dining with a fine cuisine and for couples with children they can bond while teaching the children in a small nursery or kinder learning venter inside the mall, since the mall is not so close watching the sky while sipping your favorite drink can ease the stress or burden that the pressure for the whole week that work gave to you.

This day spa offers a variety of amenities such as a sauna, jet bath, and outdoor tubs. There is also a barber shop and restaurant onsite. The park is located near the Yomiuri Land amusement park, which is known for its attractions such as water rides and pools.
One of the best super sento Onsens in Tokyo. It is located next to the famous Yomiuri Land Amusement Park and the very best combo having Japanese traditional restaurant inside. The bath contains dry sauna, salt wet sauna, inside and outside onsen water, hydro massage and even Korean akasuri and several body massage plans. Love this place visiting with family every weekend.
Not close to the station, but could be reached either by bus or taxi. Free of charge lockers, car parking are available.
Very recommended!

A middle size hot spring facility near Yomiuri Land (Amusement Park) with a few types of spar, including sauna, jacuzzi, and open-air bath. In addition, there is a restaurant and barber shop. You can have a relaxed time, though sometimes crowded.

Food there is expensive and not so good, but bath place is quite nice.

Variety of tubs available. Admission fees are inexpensive, and very much worth the money spent.

The baths here are ok. Not especially amazing, not a poor experience either. However the buildings are showing signs of age.
It feels a little like the baths were added as an afterthought to the rest of the complex here.

Seibuen Amusement Park offers a nostalgic experience with its Shōwa era theme. The park features a variety of classic rides and attractions, including a Godzilla attack ride and an Astro Boy attraction based on the popular Osamu Tezuka manga. In addition to retro classics, visitors can enjoy modern amenities such as a lazy river, wave pool, and water slides during the summer months. The park also hosts lively water battles during the day and captivating fireworks displays in the evening.
Kids wanna check out the 銭天堂 event and they enjoyed it.
The main entrance is the only place that has a shaded area. The pool side was not opened yet because the summer break has not started.
It was fun showing kids a lot of retro games that we used to play. Overall it was pretty good but the weather was way too hot. Need to bring lots sunscreens and water.
Ken Kuo — Google review
Newly renovated Seibuen amusement park is now post war, showa themed. They've added a small street full of very small vendors. The price is steep at ¥4,400 per adult. Not only that, everything in the park is monopoly money ONLY so you are forced to prepay to purchase food and souvenirs ahead of time. Once you enter, you realize there is a line for absolutely everything, even to enter the stores. Be aware there isn't much inside so be careful not to get too much monopoly money. You can buy more once inside, if you need it. We were stuck with 200 tokens at the end of the day, which isn't enough to buy anything, but is worth $2 in real life.
We waited almost two hours just to have a drink and sandwich in the cafe. I suggest eating before/after the park and only snack inside. You will have to wait in line for EVERYTHING.
The only ride worth lining up for is the Godzilla ride, but is the park worth the price? Absolutely not. The many retro museums throughout Tokyo city is so much better that this place is just a huge cash grab scam.
Not to mention, they are intolerant of tattoos. Good thing it was fall and I had mine covered. If it were up to me, I would never give any more money to this company ever again. What a shame because I use to come here monthly when I was little.
Angela Proffitt — Google review
I visited here on weekday. The park was spacious and not congested.
My son loves Godzilla so we tried Gozilla the ride.
It was amazing but I got little motion sickness.
JUN Taro — Google review
This place is a great example of 1960s Japan lifestyle. It is both adult and kid friendly. Lots of clean public bathrooms and places to grab a bite. The park actors were phenomenal. And both the Godzilla ride and the viewing tower were exceptional. It's a good day trip for the family.
A. Black — Google review
Nice place to pay a visit with family! Cool playground for kids. We want to watch the Godzilla show, but they could not allow kids below 4 year’s old. Our kid was pretty sad and crying all the time. The facilities over there are pretty old, but the staff are pretty friendly and awesome. The street shows in the market are really great, and we really enjoyed the show. However, if you want to purchase food or drinks in the stores, you need to purchase 遊園地currencies at the 郵便局 in the market. It is really annoying and inconvenient. The parking fee was also expensive and so as the tickets, so I do remind you to think it again if you want to come here.

Since I know there’s a Godzilla the ride , is a must go , the entrance fee is ¥4,300 and you need to pay for park money like monopoly’s. And if you are not able to spend it all the same day , you can’t use it after.
Beside Godzilla the ride is not worth it for this price, Is a big park but too old with games mostly for children, the pools are not working and there’s only one restaurant and you need to wait a long time to eat in cause the pandemic even with a few people inside the park this day. So If you are seeking for a wild roller coasters this is not the one.
Ejick De La Hera — Google review
Went here for the Godzilla movie ride experience. It was awesome!! Staff in the park were really kind and courteous, a couple spoke English.
Michael Dean — Google review
wonderful amusement park after renewal, very kind stuff and exciting ride
Yasu Swan — Google review
It’s an old style amusement park themed to showa era, there are only a few rides more for kids, no major coasters. What saves this place now is the Godzilla / Ultraman ride and the Main shopping street atmosphere performers, Showa era theming and shows. There is a park scrip currency but you can also use electronic payments (ic cards , credit cards etc) not forced to use it. Think overpriced for what is offered but if it’s your first time it’s OK. Some themed Godzilla food. Note you can’t leave the park officially and come back unless you have a good excuse. There is convenience store a few hundred meters outside the park.

I visited Seibuen in late July on a Thursday with a group of friends. After reading some other reviews I was a little worried, but we had an amazing time! The staff were so nice and made us feel welcome by speaking to us in English or simple Japanese. Some tips:
1) Go on a weekday if possible. We didn't have to wait for any of the rides or water slides, it was great.
2) Make sure to attend the Boogie Woogie Festival at noon in the little town. The dancers/actors are phenomenal. You can find the show times under エンターテインメントショーon the website.
3) The pool area and park have different opening/closing times. These change often so it's best to check the website section 営業時間.
4) You will not be allowed in the park if you have a visible tattoo. One of our party had a small tattoo so they simply hid it with clothing. You can even wear a shirt in the pool.
5) The park area forces you to use their 'monopoly money'. But you can use regular yen at some vending machines and in the pool area where there are food trucks.
6) In the pool area there is almost no shade so it is best to bring a tent. You should also bring your own floaties for the pool/lazy river. You can buy some at the park but it's very expensive. There are beach-style showers and a changeroom.

Came here just for Godzilla and it was totally worth the trip to Saitama. We arrived at 4 and the tickets were half off so that was nice. Keep in mind some rides were closing soon after 4 so if you plan to go on everything, plan to come earlier than that as there was a long line for Godzilla.
A G — Google review
The park is pretty simple but the street based in the showa era is a lot of fun. Definitely recommend the Godzilla ride. The limited ticket is not necessary if you wait til after 6pm to ride it
Amy Underwood — Google review
Great park loved it. Great rides but long lines.
Your tattoo rule l seriously stupid.
It's the reason for the many negative reviews.
I have zero tattoos so I don't care.. But seriously you're not a sento.
More food choices would have been great as 60 mins to get lunch was a little frustrating. The Godzilla ride was awesome but 90 mins lines were crazy.
More hot dogs and finger food needed.
Staff were great but I felt they needed more to manage the crowds.
Sumner would be great here as many of the rides mainly the park are geared for water rides. Buy the express pass if going on weekend. Will save you lining up for hours.
Australian Wanderer — Google review
Overall a bit smaller than expected but not a bad way to spend a few hours. In a nice hilly area near a major baseball stadium. Highlight of the park is definitely the theatre where you can experience a large screen viewing of a short video while seated in a machine that moves in reaction to the scenes played.
Chris Higgins — Google review
The best attraction here is the Godzilla, you can ride as much as you want. It's not crowded because of the pandemic. If you go there by car, it will cost you ¥1800 for the parking lot, but you can go also by train, there is a station directly in the park . To enter the park you will pay¥4400, and additional payment for the park's money that you will use for buying foods, items, and for games also. The rides are mostly for kids. ¥600=50 seibuen money.

Sayama Park, established in 1951, offers a serene escape for visitors to Lake Tama. The park features wooded lakeshores ideal for leisurely strolls amidst spring cherry blossoms and vibrant autumn foliage. It is conveniently located near Seibu-Yuenchi Station and boasts amenities such as a children's play area and clean public restrooms. Despite its heavily wooded interior, the park remains easily accessible on foot even during dry weather.
I'm living nearby but it's my first time to visit this park. Though no more colored maple trees or autumn leaves but still breathtaking view. Most especially the lake side, though no view of Fuji san during my visit. Anyways, will definitely come back in spring, hope to see a glimpse of Fuji san next time.

Very clean big park located close to Seibu-Yuenchi Station. Park has got a kids play area and clean public toilets. The interior is heavily wooded but on a dry day all paths remain passable on foot. There is also an amusement park located nearby.

Kodomo no Kuni, located near Yokohama and Tokyo, is a nature-rich park offering a wide range of attractions for kids. It features a petting zoo, pony rides, sports facilities, and boat rides. The park is like an amusement park, farm, sports facility, and camping site all in one place. Families can spend an entire day here without getting bored. During autumn, visitors can enjoy the beautiful foliage around "Swan Lake" with its arched bridge.
My husband used to come here when he was a little kid! Can’t believe we have brought our kids here now!
Great and spacious place for kids to have fun. Well-maintained facilities.
There are different kinds of animals for kids to get close to, like horse, cow, sheep, swan.
The milky ice cream is a must try.
It’s nice that there is a canteen near the main entrance! We had a lunch there before going back home.

It’s a big park that has a few sections. Farm, kid play area, and a few more facilities for kids' play. Awesome park!
hank — Google review
I recently had the pleasure of visiting the most amazing kids' playground park, and let me tell you, it was an absolute dream come true for the little ones (and even the grown-ups!). This place is truly a haven of joy and endless entertainment.
The first thing that caught my eye was the incredible variety of slides. From twisty-turny spirals to exhilarating straight drops, the kids were spoiled for choice. Each slide brought laughter and squeals of delight, and the safety measures put my mind at ease.
But that's not all! The park boasts a vast playing area, allowing children to run around and explore to their heart's content. The addition of water play made it even more enjoyable on those hot summer days. The splash of water and gleeful giggles filled the air, creating an atmosphere of pure joy.
As if that weren't enough, there is a small zoo nestled within the park. Kids can get up close and personal with friendly animals, fostering a sense of wonder and a love for nature. The caretakers were knowledgeable and patient, making the experience both educational and delightful.
One of the highlights for me was the small pond where kids can ride boats. It was such a charming sight to see little captains steering their vessels through the calm waters. The sense of adventure and imagination was palpable, and it brought back nostalgic memories of my own childhood.
What truly impressed me was the train-like bus that takes you around the park. For a minimal fee, you can hop aboard and enjoy a leisurely tour. It's a convenient and fun way to explore every nook and cranny of this expansive wonderland.
And let's not forget about the mouthwatering ice cream! There's a delightful selection of flavors, and I couldn't resist treating myself to a scoop. The creamy goodness provided the perfect refresher, and it was the cherry on top of an already fantastic experience.
In conclusion, Kodomo no kuni is an absolute gem. With its array of slides, expansive playing area, water play, small zoo, boat rides, train-like bus, and delicious ice cream, it's a one-stop destination for endless fun and adventure. I highly recommend visiting this place, as it promises to create unforgettable memories for kids of all ages.

Highly recommended for a weekend getaway. Accessible by 3mins walk from station.
1.5year old toddler enjoyed the day very much.
Very spacious parks and many things to do even for toddlers.
From attractions, boating mini zoo and farm, playgrounds and even camping. Most of the area are stroller friendly and they even have stroller parkings. Lots of baby friendly facilities (diaper station, nursing room), hot water for milk.
Babycar (stroller) rental available from the main entrance.
It's interesting to see the doodle area and so many talented sketches on the floor.
If I had to pick one point to be improved, it would be the choices of restaurants and food. But what more can you ask for if the little ones had a great day!
Blabla Blabla — Google review
Fun outdoor adventure park for children. Very large and spread out which is nice. Cheap to get in but you need to pay for the various attractions. Make sure to bring cash for all the attractions.

We only visited for a couple hours but I wish we could have spent more time here. My daughter was three at the time and we had fun riding ponies, feeding sheep and cows, and a very delicious soft serve ice cream. -1 star because the worker at the soft serve ice cream stand was rude to other kids in front of us and myself as well. But disregarding his attitude it was a great visit. Looking forward to coming back and riding the train bus service.

Large entertainment facility for both children and above. Tickets are cheap, but if you or your kids want to enjoy all the facilities in the park, you need buy other tickets (such as the Sun line train of around only 350m). Overall it is a place worth recommending for all of you. If you feel tired, you can have a rest on the grass and enjoy a milk ice cream. I have seen many Japanese parents taking their kids here. We enjoyed ourselves here. It was a bit of a trip out of town but worth it. The admission price is good. We went on New Years Day, and attendance was maybe low as it wasn't overly crowded like some other places we've been. My 14 yo liked it. To me, it was cute but maybe age wise, more for tween or younger. We got there kinda late because it took so long to get there, and there were activities that were closed already. We spent maybe 2 hrs there right before closing.

The big store at the entrance does have everything that all the little small shops have in different sections so don’t feel compelled to buy right as you exit an attraction.
The wait times on the two little car/boat rides were 2 hours long so I decided to skip, plenty of other cute photo opportunities and kawaii decor. Did wait for Lady kitty’s house to meet Hello kitty and it was so cute! Will cherish our photo together!
Was slightly disappointed by exclusives offered in shop- was hoping there would be more merchandise with Sanrio purpland on it but a lot of items were just regular things that can be found on Sanrio Site.

Great for people who are fan of Sanrio. It's less crowded compare to Disneyland. The staff has very cute costumes even at the entrances. I really recommend riding the boat as it shows the real fantasy of the place. When I went there in June 2021 it was free of charge (boat riding). Perhaps, it was included on our ticket.

Maybe good for children. No attractions with excitement for adults basically, but you can enjoy meeting cute characters of Sanrio such as Hello Kitty. They don't check visitors well. Obviously 2 kids sitting in front of us in one event there were sick and coughing not wearing masks well, but staffs didn't do anything. It's basically their parents' supervision problem and I also want every child to enjoy there, but at least staffs could tell those children to wear masks well or tell the parents to supervise their children better. Not talking about corona, but about flu control in public space with many people.

Wonderful place for those with young children. There are several shows available for the young ones. As for rides, there are only 2 rides and the queue can be long after 12pm. Sanrio fans should prepare to spend time (and money) at the gift shop.

Worth coming even though it isnt as large as Disney Land. The price is more reasonable and reading the negative reviews we didn't experience too much of it thankfully. We went early and even though it was a weekend it wasn't too bad. Even the food lines were only 30 min wait if at all. We ate early though as we have two toddlers. When we left it got busier but wasn't as crazy as some of the pictures and reviews from 3, 4 years ago. Think they have a fast pass system you can pay for 1000 yen. We thought about it before heading there but while we were there it really wasn't necessary. Saw the character once, show two times, went on the rides 4x or more within 3/4 of the day.

This place is better than what I expected before the visit. A lot to see in a fancy indoor building. The shows are amazing even only in Japanese. Highly recommended if you have young kids or a fan of Hello Kitty and her family.

This place beyond amazing. I was lucky to go during Halloween, so it was all themed for that and Kuromi was the star for f the event. From the moment you walk in, you’re engulfed in all things hello kitty. The place doesn’t have too many rides, and if you’re a bigger person, won’t be able to fit in 2 of the main attractions. Aside from that, the main thing people come here for are definitely the live shows & performances. As the day goes by, wait times increase; so expect to wait up till an hour to get on the main attractions. The restaurants were all amazing, simple yet expensive themed food and desserts. Multiple gift shops to buy all hello kitty items. It’s definitely a whole days worth of a trip, so plan accordingly.

Sanrio Puroland, the beloved home of Hello Kitty, is a whimsical haven that captures the hearts of visitors young and old. Stepping inside feels like entering a magical realm, where every corner is adorned with beloved characters and captivating attractions. The vibrant atmosphere is brimming with joy and excitement, making it an ideal destination for families and Hello Kitty enthusiasts alike. The themed foods featuring adorable animal faces and charming restaurants offer a delightful culinary journey through the world of Sanrio. However, be prepared for long lines at the Hello Kitty shop, where eager fans flock to collect their favorite memorabilia. With its enchanting ambiance and irresistible charm, Sanrio Puroland promises an unforgettable experience filled with cherished memories.

Love this place. If you are coming from overseas you can find discount tickets online. I also suggest the passes that let you skip the lines for shows or rides. The Kawaii Kabuki show is a lot of fun.

Though not a big park to be but glad to be indoor set up. Around 15 mins walk from nearest station. Food is available nearby too. Probably will need like 4 to 5 hours in total here. Kids will certainly like it. Lot of live show too.

Super fun, I went here and tokyo disneysea on my trip and ended up enjoying this one more. It is all indoors, which was extremely helpful because this summer was very hot! The food was pretty good, nothing amazing, but they had really cute desserts, and the buffet we went to had a spot for character performances too. Make sure to book in advance on their website or klook or something because it was about half the price they were charging at the door.

A place much more magical than Disney but a fraction of the cost.
I came here with just my partner, but many people come here as families. The place is huge, 4 stories. We got here shortly after they opened and stayed till 5pm and still weren’t able to do everything. There are two rides here, but the line is ridiculously long even in a Monday when we went. I would either get a fast pass or go as early as possible.
The food was surprisingly tasty as well. My favorite was the cod roe pasta for sure. There are great photo opportunities everywhere. I took some super cute amazing photos here. There are also opportunities to meet hello kitty and other characters.
They switch up their shows and themes often. When we went, it was the camping theme and the kabukicho show. It was a 40 minute long show with signing, dancing, and a cute story. I speak minimal Japanese and could easily follow what was going on, since it’s made for kids they are using simple vocab and speak slowly. But my partner who knows minimal Japanese followed a long well.
We ate right when we got there at 10am, but later in the day the food lines got really crowded. They go by super fast, you usually have your food instantly after you order.
Overall, if you are a huge sanrio fan and love being surrounded by cuteness, come visit! But only if you have time on your trip to Tokyo, it’s almost an hour train ride there and you will be there all day.

Many say it takes about 3h to see all the stuff but it took all day. There were big queues for the 2 rides, had to wait 1h. Also queues for taking photo too.
The restaurants has different scenes and the food is not to bad.
I did not buy tickets online, got it at the door. Was not too busy in the morning, after lunch it was packed out.
Overall it was a very fun day out.

My daughter is a hardcore Sanrio fans but we as the parents are super disappointed with how they don't control the number of tickets sold daily.
The indoor park is super crowded on a weekday and you can barely get a spot to view the parade, we tried to buy the Puropass but it was sold out.
We have been to many theme parks all over the world and even though Puroland tickets are cheaper but the experience is horrible, we wanted to leave within an hour if it's not for our kid.
Totally waste of time if it's not for the kids, not to mention that it's far from the city center.

A neat, delicate and wonderful place for visitors to explore Sanrio icon characters inside the land. The interior decoration and layout are spectacular and unique but it is not so roomy. It is really crowded even in week days. Lots of kids and teenagers love to visit the land for photo shooting, funny activities participation and game playing.
Moreover, exclusive merchandise products and meals are also the best attractions here. Visitors can have 10% tax refund if the total purchasing amount is over 5000 yen.
The staffs are professional and friendly to guide or serve you all the time. Kids are really happy to enjoy their time inside. A good place for parents to have fun with kids on holidays or weekends. Just come and enjoy. Have fun.

A dream for Sanrio lovers! We went as 2 adults on a weekday in December, and had an amazing time.
There’s something here for everyone, but it’s mostly targeted to young children. We stayed for the whole day, and found it difficult to fit everything we wanted to do in! A lot of time sensitive events happen in Puroland, such as the character meet and greets, the birthday celebration and parade/shows, so you need to plan the timings of your day well.
There are so many cute photo spots all over Puroland, so perfect for taking photos. Lady Kitty’s house was particularly good, lots of adorable photo ops! Make sure to dress up cute and take lots of pictures!
For the character meet and greets, I recommend looking on the website to see which characters are there on the day of your visit if you really want to meet a specific one. To meet the characters, you need to get a ticket with an hour return window on it and you can only hold one ticket per mobile device, and if you want to meet more than one character you have to meet the first one before you can get another ticket (it’s very confusing!). Slots for the meet and greets do run out so I recommend you either prioritise the popular characters (because they run out first) or your favourite characters (so you don’t miss out!).
Rides wise, there aren’t a lot in Puroland, the Sanrio Boatride is absolutely fantastic and well worth the wait. Watch out for the closing time of the boatride, if the queue is long enough, they will close the queue early and during our visit the ride temporary broken down so getting on as early as is reasonable is best! The My Melody ride is also very cute and enjoyable, especially since My Melody is my favourite character.
There are two food courts, and both are very cute with Sanrio themed food. The cutest looking ones are the curries but the portions are quite small for an adult. We also had the Gudetama ramen which was really good.
The main draw of Puroland is definitely the shows, standouts being the Kawaii Kabuki show and the Miracle Gift Parade. Kawaii Kabuki is a show in a theatre so you don’t need to come super early if it’s not too busy in the park overall, the show is fantastic, wholeheartedly recommend seeing this! The Miracle Gift Parade is a parade that takes place around the central tree so there are many places that you can get a good view from. It’s a great way to see many characters at once. This one is a bit more difficult to get a good view for so arrive at least 30 mins before to find a good spot.
The gift shop has so much variety and stays open past closing time, so you can shop after your day around the theme park. They also have lots of merch for less popular/more obscure characters, so if your favourite character is more obscure, it’s worth checking out the gift shop to see if you can find them.
Overall, we had a fantastic day, and stayed from opening to closing! If you love Sanrio and cute things, you will adore Puroland.

Sanrio Puroland is very very cuteeee, but it’s sooooo small. It’s very beautiful if youre a fan of any of the iconic characters. Which I am. Although it’s very very much for little kids. If youre an adult, they have very cute merchandise and cute photo places, although , not much else. The boat ride was cute. Although it’s a bit of a fun wait. I recommend it for families with young kids! If youre an adult or late teen, defintely take cute pics. Although, you definitely don’t need the whole day there.

Especially A fun place to take your children It’s a hello kitty themed park with various small shows, souvenir and merchandise shop, and decorations to look at. I would recommend to book ticket online so u don’t need to wait in line and also it’s cheaper than buying on the spot.

very fun but very crowded, when you enter the park itself there is little to no queue but wait until you get inside… went there 1 hour after opening and everything was already full with queues of 1h+. you can reserve your ticket before but it’s not necessary. it is still nice to visit even if you don’t do all the rides they offer and they have a huge shop so it’s worth checking out. And remember to find your seats at least 45min before the parade starts if you don’t want to pay, you will see a lot of people starting to sit down to have the best place. In total i stayed for approximately 4 hours without doing any ride

Take me back. I want to live here.
(Late Review as we went back in June/July 2023 but forgot to post.)
I wouldn't recommend going to Puroland if you're not a Sanrio fan, as it doesn't really have rides like a typical amusement park, but if you're a Sanrio fan like I am this is the best place ever. Everything in that place is themed. The food is themed. The place was actually bigger than I thought it would be. There's two different 'food court' areas! It's fun to just go around and stare at everything. Of course, I mainly went here to gift shop and eat the Sanrio-food so if you're here for more of an typical experience maybe go to a different amusement park. But for me it was the best. You could also meet the characters, but we didn't do that.
Food was surprisingly nice for themed food!! The crepes were so delicious and I wanted to eat five of them. I wouldn't really recommend the 'jelly drink' pictured next to the crepes as there was so... much... jelly in it but also I'm not big on tropical flavours. You might like it! :) Everything was tasty aside from that, and I'm definitely coming again next time I'm in Japan.
Showa Kinen Park, located in Tokyo's western suburb of Tachikawa, is a vast national park spanning over 160 hectares. The park offers extensive trails, bike paths, various gardens, and woods for visitors to explore. One of its main attractions is the expansive water park divided into five different zones. Zone C features the lively Rainbow Pool with nine pool types, slides, and wave machines suitable for older kids and teens.
A huge park with lots of things to experience. You can rent bicycle and a small train is available to cover up this huge park. A great park to enjoy your whole day cause we will get to see various flower beds, a calm Japanese garden, a bonsai museum, Kids playground, a lake with boat ride. Also there are food stalls available inside the park and luckily we got the halal Turkish food stall. A car parking is also available which costs 850 yen.

This is the most beautiful thing I've seen in Japan. The park is huge and has many attractions and exquisitely groomed plants. But there are also some wooded areas with real ecosystem. There is an entire Children's park, a cherry blossom orchard, a ginko pathway that turns gold in the fall, and plenty of restrooms. It's also handicap accessible and most of the areas are well paved (the wooded pathways are not accessible, but they are a fraction of the entire area. The park also holds frequent special events like an evening fall colors event, and displays at the traditional Japanese garden. I highly recommend it as a place to experience Japan's natural beauty and love of nature.

Huge and beautiful park just an hour from Tokyo. We spent half a day there and only covered half of the park. Managed to see many different types of sunflowers and other summer flowers. We had a break at the beautiful Japanese gardens and had green tea and a delicious seasonal sweet. Met an old tour guide at the antique farm house who gave us some fascinating background on the park. We were told that the park was a former American army base before the government took it over and converted it to a park. We will come again in different seasons to see the different flowers.

One of my favorite park in Japan. You can spend literarily all day here! From family cycling to just a stroll in the park, there are so many things you can do. Kids love the cloudy bouncy area and the boat ride on the lake. My personal favorite is cycling where you can rent out bicycles and ride around the park. The designated bicycle path is so fun! We get lost so i end up using google map. There are some park foods and it’s actually not bad. If you go during different seasons, it’s definitely a treat!

This park is huge and there is so much to do in it and it's definitely a full day destination. The nemophila and poppy fields that bloom during early May are gorgeous and won't disappoint. There are bikes available for rental and a great bike path but they sell out fast on busy weekends and holidays. There's also a little train that goes all around the park and tickets for it are only a few hundred yen. The komorebi village is cool to check out and closes at 4pm. There are also multiple food stall spots around the park. The kids play area also looked fantastic for kids. Great park for families and bringing your dog too!

Very huge park with variety of flowers and so many ginkgo trees. The entry fee is 450 yen per person per day. We went to see the cosmos matsuri and were very tired after roaming for more than 3 hours. Bicycles are available on rent for ease of transportation within the park however there may be a long waiting time on weekends or holidays. The photos came out very nice and my spouse was really happy. The Japanese garden within the park is really wonderful.

Almost three months, we have been waiting for enjoying the autumn beauty in this park. Finally we visited here!!! A eye-catching scenery, many things to watch, and for it’s full of beauty, I will obviously recommend this place for seeing the best view of Autumn. I don't know how it looks in other seasons, but you should obviously visit if you want to enjoy the Autumn scenery. Though, you have to buy Ticket, obviously because it’s a beautiful place and need big amount for maintain cost, but I was shock as I have to buy ticket for two times. From 9 to 4:30, you need to buy a ticket of 450 yen(adults) for enjoying the day scenery. But for enjoying the night, which was more attractive, you have to buy a ticket of 1200 yen(adults). Though if you buy the ticket from their website, you can save 200 yen as you have to pay 1000 yen!
Whatever, for it’s attractive view, I think it wasn’t a waste of money project for me!!

I highly recommend to rent a bike for every member of the family. The park is insanely big and don’t think of walking to get to different parks. Wear good shoes. Bring picnic mat or any spare blanket. You’d be tempted to lie down in the grass during the late afternoon. Allot an entire day.

I had an amazing time during my first visit to Showa Kinen Park. The park is incredibly vast, making it impossible to explore everything in just one day, but it is worth returning to. The park's vibrant colors, thanks to the various types of flowers, truly captivated me. Moreover, my children had a blast participating in activities such as biking and boating. Additionally, there were numerous food carts to indulge in. Overall, I am already looking forward to going back to the park multiple times in the future.

The park is huge beautiful and have many scene to take photo, many area for picnic and also good for relax or any activity with your family, friends or even your pets. You can visit and relax here for all day, I have only half day here and could not discover all the area of the park, in 2023 the Autumns color is a bit late, so it would be very beautiful when the leaf color was completely changed.
The restroom is clear and enough to serve all visitor, it's not hard to find the restroom here.

Beautiful park. Give it 5/5. There were lot of lovely places to be visited in the park like for example; The Japanese Garden, the walk to the Japanese garden through the entrance (at daytime), etc. But you should boost the park at daytime AND night because in the day some spots are beautiful and in night the remaining spots are beautiful (like the illuminations). The park had boating, snack restaurants and Segways- (available and enjoyed in day only). There are many more places to visit but you should come in day to enjoy the whole park. Overall this park is a 4.9.
Recommendation to come here- 89-97%.
Machida Tenmangu is a charming shrine known for its two ox statues and as a popular spot for locals and tourists to pray, especially before exams. The shrine hosts a monthly sale offering unique gifts and antiques, including vintage kimono, tableware, furniture, and decor. With a cow theme throughout the grounds, visitors can explore the small shrine shop offering ema plaques.
On the 1st day of each month, an antique market is at Machida Shrine, rain or shine! They have quite a few vendors that primarily sell antique/old things including kimono, yukata, Obi, ikkanbari, tea boxes, Edo & Meiji dishware and many other beautiful things 😻

(Translated by Google) I read Ken Kaiko a lot.
He was a writer who had a great influence on the development of my personality.
Here, the old study has been preserved as it was, and there is a dense atmosphere.
There was a strong sense of realism, as if the artist was still there. Nowadays, you won't find many of his books lined up in bookstores, but I think you can get most of his books here. As I strolled through the garden, I was surprised to find famous sayings by Daikai Ko in the form of stone monuments, which caught me by surprise. This is a great facility for fans who remember Daikai High School.

Southern Beach Chigasaki, located in Kanagawa prefecture and less than two hours from Tokyo, is a hidden gem with its broad sandy shores and stunning views of Mt. Fuji. Whether you're into swimming, surfing, or simply taking a leisurely stroll along the coastline, this beach has something for everyone. The Southern C monument and picturesque rock formations add to the charm of this serene location. Visitors can also enjoy browsing through local restaurants and small businesses nearby.
Excellent place to enjoy good food with friends with fantastic view of the beach!!

It is very convenient to go by car (just used the expressway to avoid traffic). There are parking lots nearby and cost 2,000yen per day. There are toilets on the beach area and paid shower rooms (about 500yen). You can also rent parasol, body boards and floaters.
The beach has great and big waves perfect for surfers. Surfing is allowed before 8:30am and after 5pm so people can enjoy swimming on the beach.
There are nearby cafes, convenience stores and restaurants if you don’t want to bring food.
There is a barbecue area nearby the beach and cost around 10,000yen.
This beach is a good place for a quick getaway to beat the summer heat. Kids and adults will definitely enjoy the splash of beach waves.

You have quite decent waves here, but Baywatch won't let you go too far and enjoy them fully. You can go hundred meters to the left and they are not in charge there anymore

Very good place, good services too but possibly a bit too polluted with the sand being grey. Also the sand is very hot so at midday I would recommend you taking flip flops with you

The beach is great, with light waves. Should go in summer.

Came here as a foreigner with a few of my friends.
With the limited Japanese I knew, I approached the lifeguards to ask where we could get a beach tent to rent. To our surprise, they gave us one for free to use! That was the highlight of my day ! The atmosphere was warm and friendly. There are some restaurants on the beach that are good for drinks mainly lol. I'm not used to certain tastes of foods so it will take some getting used to. We had a great time and as Jamaicans, we are spoiled with our beaches but this was a good experience! Thank you once more to the lifeguards. Sorry I didn't get their names but we are so appreciative!

Takaoyama Yakuouin Yukiji Temple is a mountainside Buddhist temple constructed by Emperor Shomu in 744. The temple boasts several tengu statues and offers great views of Mount Fuji. It's an easy hiking course that takes around 2-3 hours, with the option to try delicious soba at the top. The shrine features over 100 stone markers and many beautiful statues.
An easy hiking course for about 2-3 hours. The soba on top was so great. I wish I had more time to experience the shrine and more than 100 stone markers.

My visit to Takaosan Yakuōin Yukiji Temple was truly memorable, combining spirituality with adventure amidst the stunning natural beauty of Mount Takao. The trekking experience leading up to the temple was invigorating, offering breathtaking views of lush forests and serene landscapes along the way. The well-marked trails and gentle slopes made the ascent enjoyable for adventurers of all levels.
Upon reaching the temple, I was greeted by a sense of tranquility and reverence. The ancient architecture and serene surroundings provided a serene sanctuary for reflection and meditation. The temple's history and cultural significance added depth to the experience, making it more than just a stop along the trail.
After exploring the temple grounds, I opted for the ropeway descent, which offered a thrilling aerial perspective of the mountain and surrounding area. The panoramic views were simply spectacular, making the descent both exhilarating and memorable.
While my experience was nearly flawless, I deducted one star due to the occasional crowds and wait times, particularly during peak seasons. Despite this minor inconvenience, Takaosan Yakuōin Yukiji Temple remains a must-visit destination for nature lovers, spiritual seekers, and adventure enthusiasts alike.

Love this place I try to get here as much as I can. This time I did the full hike which only took less than 1.5hr to the top. Unfortunately trails 4 and 6 were covered in snow so I’ll be back on a warmer day. Great views of Fuji-San on this day.

If you love hiking, this is the place for beginners to go up to the top and on a good clear day, Mt. Fuji can be seen. A good attraction just outside Tokyo central (1hr 20+ mins from Shinjuku)

Beautiful Temple in the Mountain represent mountain god (tengu). Statues of the gods, one with a long nose and one with a crow beak, can be found at the temple and also other spots around the mountain.

Very beautiful and I interesting place. Not too crowded on a Sunday. Cooler than being in the city. If you take the lift the walk up the mountain isn't too steep. You can visit with children.

Yakuoin Temple [高尾山藥王院] of Takao Mountain, initially built in 744 AD, worships the Medicine God, although current major worship halls were built in 1729 and 1753 and were renovated and expanded a few times in 18th and 19th centuries.
While visitors of Yakuoin Temple may be impressed at Temple complex, but mountain road from cable car station of Yakuoin Temple to the Temple itself is an ultimate tour attraction because it has many maple leaves trees and other types of trees, especially cedar trees. Temple does have cedar Tree project to increase planting cedar trees after evidence indicates that its initially planted cedar trees did survive the hurricane and became the windbreak for the temple and mountain road.
Both Yakuoin Temple and Takao Mountain are popular spots for religious worshippers and non-religious visitors and mountain hikers and climbers. Thus, rail transportations and cable trains/cars to the Takao Mountain can be long waiting in weekends, holidays, and in religious days. To save time for waiting for ticket purchase for cable trains/cars, it is better for visitors to buy discounted packaged tickets for Keio Rail Tickets and Cable Trains/Cars, and visitors can save time for waiting for ticket purchase. However, in weekends and holidays, almost every spot, including toilets, ice cream shops, and temple's service counters, have long lines and require wait time of 20 minutes or longer.
While Temple does not disallow visitors to bring their pets to the Temple, it is probably safer for visitors not to bring their pets to visit the Temple when there are huge crowds of visitors. Pets should not feel pressure for congestion either.

Took cable car up Mt Takao. The cable car is the steepest one in Japan. From the drop off point, we still have to walk to the temple. We passed many trees, monuments, statues, shops, attractions , people before we reach the temple.

Nice hike close to Tokyo about an hour from central, lots of beautiful temples and shrines and feels really good to be walking amongst nature.
Family friendly, you can choose to go up and down by cable car or hike up with many different trails with varying difficulty.
Going in summer can be very challenging due to the heat and humidity even on the easiest track (track 1), and is actually a bit steep. While the walk itself was nice, the view at the end was underwhelming but maybe that was because of the cloudy weather.

Gorgeous! The hike to the top of the mountain was tough for this family but so worth it. We took the ski lift on the way down to rest our legs. It was so worth every step. We had a beautiful view of Tokyo and Mount Fuji. We visited the monkey park. Our boys loved it!

The autumn foliage is lovely to view here. It is pretty accessible too, as there are cable cars and chair lifts to this area. There are plenty of vendors selling festival type foods too~ But it is very busy because of the festival. And if you collect Goshuin, expect to wait in long line. It is peak season, so it is understandable, but it took about an 1 hour and 45 minutes to get the stamp on a weekday. If you do want a stamp, come early~

Nice temple at the top is a small mountain. Pretty peaceful.
Mount Takao, also known as Takaosan, is a 599-meter-tall peak located within an hour of Shinjuku station in Tokyo. It has been a pilgrimage site for over 1,200 years and offers a mix of traditional Japanese culture and natural beauty. Visitors can enjoy hiking trails, a funicular railway, and the opportunity to visit the Yakuo-in temple. The summit provides stunning views of Tokyo and Mount Fuji on clear days.
There is a cable car or ski lift that takes you near the summit. In addition, there is a beautiful, paved path from the cable car station to the summit. The path to the summit is easy for everyone. And of course, you get to enjoy the unpaved mountain trails! Religious facilities create a solemn atmosphere near the summit. With a good selection of restaurants, this is the perfect place for a casual hike up the mountain!

We went for a casual hike to Takao-san. Super easy to get to via the Keio line from Shinjuku station. Make sure to grab the special/limited express train to get to Takaosanguchi station a little faster. After that it's a short (but super crowded) walk, starting at the right of the station, and up to the cable car station at the base of the mountain.
We went up the Inariyama trail which starts to the left of the cable car station entrance. A little steep here and there but a very enjoyable walk up. The summit was very crowded and views were so-so, would advise taking a quick look and then spending more time on the trails. We took the Summit loop (trail 5) around the top and descended via Suspension bridge trail (trail 4), did the Kasumidai loop (trail 2) and then switched to Biwa waterfall (trail 6) for the rest of the way down.
These trails avoid the crowds on trails 1 (Omotesando) and 3 (Katsura forest), and are really enjoyable to walk. Going much earlier in the morning is the best way to avoid crowds but there are certainly ways to minimize it by taking some of the 'harder' or 'steeper' routes which shouldn't be a challenge for most people at an average fitness level. Would recommend outdoor/hiking shoes, sneakers are fine as long as you don't mind them getting dirty.
At the cable car station at the foot of the mountain, there are a lot of Japanese food stalls, worth trying and to support the local economy. With a nice clean park nearby, it's worth enjoying a small bite to eat and a local beer after a nice day out on the trails.

This mountain is great for moderate hiking. There are both safe trails and dangerous trails for adventurous people. The scene at the top of the mountain is picturesque. There are some food stores and drink vending machines along the way so you do not have to worry about those. For those who wanted to use the cable lift here, it gets crowded at times so be prepared to wait.

Only 45min by train from Shinjuku Station, Takao Mountain is a great option for a hike in the nature. I suggest to get to Takaosan-guchi station of Keio Line (there is also JR line, but it is far form the start of the hiking trail). There are different routes to get to the top, but I suggest to take the alternative routes and not the pain, paved one, since is its very crowded and steep. You can get to the top in around 2 hours. I also suggest the sento (hot public bath) at the Takaosan-guchi Station. I also enjoyed the monkey zoo and the Tengu temple. In summertimes, there is also a beer garden but it was way too crowded.

Great place to spend a day in nature, just an hour away from Tokyo. Several different trails to get to the summit. I found trail 6 to be quite pleasant, and easy, with the exception of the last stretch before the summit, which has a lot of steps.
Trail 1 might seem the easiest one, as it’s paved and half the path can be done on the cable car or chair lift. However, the path is quite steep, and in my opinion there is too many people going up and down all the time, which in my opinion, doesn’t allow to experience the beautiful nature of the mountain.
Javier G. Visiedo — Google review

I decided to climb Mount Takao this past weekend. I had brought a backpack with my overnight gear, camera, laptop, snacks, and a couple of bottles of water. My intention was to put everything except the water in a locker at the train station but all of the lockers were taken. I had no choice but to carry my heavy load with me.
You can probably guess what happened. With each ascending step, the backpack felt heavier and heavier. After about an hour, I was sweating profusely and breathing hard. When I stopped to rest and drink some water, I noticed that the lift station for the ropeway was close by.
I felt a bit of shame taking the lift down the mountain but I told myself it was better than potentially coming down in an ambulance.
There’s a nice onsen next to the Keio station. I relaxed there while waiting for my group to finish the climb.

We got there by train which is easily accessible. We decided for the chair lift up (a cable car is available as well) and walked the remaining way up to the summit. Prices for both are low. It is easy to walk though it might be still exausting, when your body isn't used to much activity. We intended to walk down.
The summit offers such an awesome view of the mountainous nature around and even free view of Fuji-san as long as the weather is good enough. We didn't know about Fuji views and were so overwhelmed by it! What a luck we had.
Way down we choose Trail 6. It seemed to be a nice walk through the woods at first. Then a staircase down the steepest parts and down the dale we reached the beginnings of the small stream that results in Biwa Falls. The trail is not easy even desending when you're no trained person. The trail within the dale leads directly through the water. You'll have to walk through it or have to walk from stone to stone keeping shoes dry. This continues some time and offers an awesome view like going through rainforest. I loved it. Around half the way the trail continues as a small path so walking gets easier. White sneaker won't stay white here.
Totally worth the hike. Restaurants at the starting point offer you food to get your energy levels (re)filled.
Takao-san is more crowded than e.g. Mitake-san, but definitely offers the better view.

A offbeat hike in Tokyo. The journey through the suburbs to Mount Takao is very scening and this is a great spot considering access from the city center. Mount Takao, used as a sacred site for over 1000 years, is 599 meters tall and especially popular among couples, families, and the elderly. For those who want to shorten the journey, there is a cable car available. It is located about an hour away by train from Shinjuku Station. Along the path to the summit, there is a Buddhist temple and numerous food and rest areas. Taking Trail 1 takes between 90mins to 2 hours depending on athleticism.
Final view of My Fuji at the summit well worth the hike. Best time of the year to go is Winter where the weather likely allows for Mt Fuji to be visible.
Other trails can be more difficult as the paths would not be paved

I wholeheartedly recommend this hike to anyone visiting Tokyo. It's a must-do experience that combines natural beauty, cultural exploration, and a delightful culinary surprise at the mountain's zenith.

Trail 1 is fancy for all ages. There are lots of attractions, foods and snacks on the trail. Trail 6 is a bit dangerous. Only recommend to with someone who has experience (not need profession).

If you take the Keiō Line Semi Special Express from Shinjuku to Takaosanguchi, you can reach Takaosanguchi station directly without transferring at Kitano.

A really enjoyable walk, the chair lift is also a good time if you don't want to walk the whole way.
Very enjoyable in winter and a nice get away from the very noisy and busy city.
On a nice day you can even see Fuji!

Great day trip from Tokyo. Around 2 hours each way from Yokohama & back.

Enjoyable, family friendly, paved road availablity hiking road but not to easily underestimated due to its length.
🚶♂️ walking distance from end of chair lift to top of Mt. Takao around 4 KM one way (included stair).
🍲 There are many stall selling hot meal and drinks.
💴 Payment is only for chair lift or train. Return price is JPY900.
🗻 Mt Fuji view is at the top viewing deck, at early stage you got Tokyo City view.
Mount Mitake is a popular destination for nature lovers and hikers, located just a 1-2 hour drive or train ride from central Tokyo. The area offers stunning views of lush greenery and surrounding mountains. Visitors can take a funicular or hike to the peak, where they'll find the Musashi Mitake Shrine dedicated to a white wolf deity. The mountain is part of the Chichibu-Tama-Kai National Park, featuring walking trails, waterfalls, and scenic landscapes.
Magnifique montagne avec télésiège.

Il y a également un trésor national dans le musée près du temple et des vestiges de crâne de loup datant d'Edo.

It's a pretty awesome place to hike. Easy for beginners. You can take a bus right outside Mitake station, turn left, cross the road, and turn left. Or just ask the visitor centre and ask for a map.The bus is scheduled, so do take note of the time. Once you board the bus, it will take you all the way to near the cable car. You will need to walk uphill for 5 mins to reach the cable car station. Once there, I suggest you take note of the cable car timing to prepare the time to descent. After exiting the cable car station, you will need to walk for abt 10 min on a stretch of road to reach the town. To even reach the start of the walk to the shrine, you will need to cont uphill inside the town. Those who are planning for the Nanayo waterfall, you will need to go to near the shrine, and turn left, follow the sign board. Overall, you can walk 1 loop to the nanayo waterfall> rock garden> ayahiro fall> cedar trees> shrine. Spent a total of 2.5 hr or less for the route. Its steep initially will downhills and slopes then slippery rocks and icey pathways w snow, followed by gentle path back to the shrine.

This is a nice daytrip hiking to go to when staying in Tokyo. We spent our last 6 days in Tokyo again and intended to see nature spots as well. We picked Mitake san in our options before starting the journey.
From Tokyo, you can reach the valley easily by taking train. You may need to change trains depending on the city's part you're staying. Take the Chuo-zen and get off at eki. You may either take the bus for a small amount or simply walk to the cable car. We decided to walk to enjoy the mountains, the beautiful dale and nature. Though the last part of the road is pretty steep and is kind of a cardio workout, it was really worth it.
We took the cable car up. Even there the view is awesome. At it's destination, you can walk up the remaining path to the summit. It's comfortable to walk and takes around 20 mins.
Along the way you find some restaurants and houses. The way to summit is marked by signs but you need to keep the Japanese Kanji in mind as it is not always written in English. Someone tried to be funny and added English descriptions to one sign, but exchanged two summit names.
The summit has a temple and therefore is different than e.g. Takao-san. The view is nice as well and shows mountains and the city area in the background.
We liked the hiking and the area a lot, because it is less crowdy than other spots. The valley is extremely beautiful and reminded us of a slightly bigger Japanese version of the Ahrtal (Ahr river valley) in Germany.

Easily accessible by train. Good for a day trip outing. Can take the Cable cart too. Need to walk a bit to reach the Nanayo waterfall. There is a place mentioned as Rock Garden but actually there is no specific Garden such as instead the route to Ayahiro waterfall is surrounded by rocks and the water stream in between that is the Rock Garden.

Mount Mitake is about an hours drive from Tokyo. It’s a beginner hiking mountain which takes about 4 - 5 hours to hike all the from the bottom to the summit whilst visiting all the major scenic spots. It’s a little harder to get to compared to all the other mountains which means there’s less people. The autumn leaves are quite nice and there are many of those kind of trees!

Amazing walk, 800 trees ish for you to count with on your hike up the mountain! It would be best to go hi vis or wear a bell so that you may be safer on the road. It is a bitumen road shared with cars. The track is maybe an hour long up and half that on the way down. I would recommend skipping he cable car if fitness and time allows!
Mind you there are other beautiful hikes once you reach the summit also.
The cable car can be reached by a bus (¥210 one way) from the station (about 100m left of the train station exit as you leave)

View from the top is good but not spectacular. It's quite a drive from Tokyo (about 90 minutes) and there isn't much you can do here. Most of the restaurants are not opened and there is literally nothing to do except visiting the shrine and sovenirs shops. I can see why this place is good for hikers but if you are a casual traveller, might make sense to miss this altogether.

It was a good hiking experience after a long break. The trail is not hard at all, most beginners can easily hike the mountain. On top of the mountain there’s a shrine. If you are lucky or well informed you can catch festivals too. The scenario is so so.

Since moving to Japan I try to visit here for the illumination once a year. I recommend going during cherry blossom season because the views are amazing! The themes make it all the more exciting too. I especially enjoyed the Sailor Moon theme. I recommend getting the free pass if you plan on going on multiple rides. It’s an additional ¥900. The next time I visit, I want to try the lodging and hot spring option.

The staff was very friendly and polite. Awesome customer service! But it's too expensive and, if you don't speak japanese, it'll be very hard to understand what is going on/what are you paying. I went there with my husband the last day of the light show, so we waited until it got dark to enjoy the lights and the ferris wheel, but the thing shut down before 7:30pm which was very disappointing.
The breakfast was included with the cabin rental (we paid around $55 per person), but it was a very tiny soup, sodas, coffee and bread. If you wanted to add bacon you had to pay an extra $5, so I'd definitely recommend bringing your own food (the cabin had a mini fridge).
The muscle monster looked fun! But it was closed around 3 or 4pm, so we weren't able to try it either.

*Try to bring foods. There is not much variety in foods or availability. Price is also high.
* We thought of roaming the park during day time but there is not much to see during day time in late December. However, there are some rides that are only available before 4pm such Muscles Monster.
*after evening all rides pass would be best value to see the illumination and also enjoy rides.

One of my favorite winter Illuminations. But if you are not fond of cold weather then late autumn or early spring will be the best time to visit. Even on sunny days evenings can get chilly. Rest assured that you will enjoy the view.. The amusement park is not top of the world but pretty nice to spend the day. The Snow paradise using fake snow was just a joke of snow slides.. The road from Tokyo using a car can get really congested on weekends so manage your time.

I travel a lot and been many places , many cable cars . This one is my second worst overpriced cable car after Porto in Portugal cable car. Whole little village is basically made up o car parking places with nobody there to park , with probably 50 tourists a day as whole cable car attraction is Shadowed by scam of expensive parking, difficult to get there and once you there you have to climb steep steps up for about 1km then to find out that cable car runs from nowhere to nowhere that cost ¥1120 return and only runs for 3 min. No views on going up as car surrounded by trees on both sides. Not sure bout other reviews as probably made by locals and to prove how bad there is and badly managed, place was absolutely empty . I was on cable car alone , with no tourist to bee seen anywhere as like myself who drove to the place to find out overpriced carparks and people turning around and going away. I did managed to park for free by police station and had to walk quite a bit . Even is someone decides to go there keep in mind that it is not for older people or who is unfit as getting to cable car alone takes most of your energy and whole village is ran by Micky mouse
You need to get there after passing lots of stairs. It is little tiring but fun to see Japanese style shops. The signs on the stairs are encouraging and fun.

Nestled on the scenic Mount Oyama, Oyama Afuri Shrine is a historic Shinto shrine renowned for its rainmaking deities. Visitors can reach the shrine by riding the new cable cars, offering breathtaking views of the Kanto plain and ocean. The shrine's young priest, 27th in a line of spiritual leaders, provides insightful guidance on the surprising history of the Oyama pilgrimage.
One of the best places to visit in autumn. The vibrant colors of the leaves would really take your breath away.
Going up, there are two options, hiking or riding the cable car(¥450 one way). Hiking has two options as well, Onna-zaka (easier way) or otoko-zaka (steeper way), both ways would entail walking lots of stairs! The steeper way is less crowded, hence more chances of seeing wild deers! Hiking takes about more or less than an hour depending on pace, it’s most important to take your time and enjoy!
There are food stalls selling mochis, coffee, sandwiches, soft cream, noodles and even beer near the shrine.
After the shrine, you can go all the way up to the summit of Mt. Oyama which takes about two hours or just get down by walking or by taking cable car. The last trip for cable car is at 5:00 on weekends and 4:30 on weekdays.
Getting here earlier would give more time to enjoy and relax!

Oyama Afuri Shrine is a ceremonial shrine that is said to have been built during the reign of Emperor Sujin, the 10th Emperor of Japan, more than 2,200 years ago. Since ancient times, Sagami Province has been revered as a sacred mountain for the protection of the Kanto region. Jomon pottery, which is thought to have been used for rituals, has been unearthed from the summit, which is 1,252 meters above sea level, testifying to the ancient history of the mountain. Daisen is also known as "Amefuriyama" and has been widely loved. The name Amefuri is said to have originated from the fact that clouds and fog always form over the mountains, causing rain.

If you just want to go sightseeing, take a cable car and go shrine.
If you want to go mountain climbing, then go further after cable car.
It takes about 90mins on the way, 60mins on the way back. On top of the mountain doesn't have much, but you can bring your food and enjoy.
Mount Oyama, standing at 1,252 meters tall, is a popular destination for hikers and nature enthusiasts seeking breathtaking panoramic views. The mountain has a rich history dating back over 2000 years to the founding of the original Oyama Afuri Jinja Shrine. Accessible from Isehara Station, just an hour's train ride from Shinjuku, visitors can choose to hike the trails or take the Oyama Cable Car up to the shrine.
We started at around 8:30 from Isehara station. Bus #10 takes about 30 minutes to the Oyama Ropeway station. Then we walked some 360 stairs to the ropeway entrance. The ropeway is scheduled 3 times per hour, retour costs some 1150yen. After the ropeway, we hiked the direct trail to the top. Not long, but very tiring. Backwards we took the trail towards Miharashidai. Longer, but easier, and there are beautiful views too. We got on the bus at around 15:00, and then went from the Isehara station to the Tokaidaigaku-mae station by train. There we relaxed in the Hadano Natural Onsen Sazanka.

So please wear either sneakers with traction or hiking shoes. The scenery is great and there is a noodle shop at the top of the mountain. Climbed this beautiful mountain on a late summer morning in July. The trail was not very difficult and if you are in good health, you should be able to climb this fairly quickly. However, don’t expect to get a view of Mt. Fuji from at the summit. You’ll get to see Fuji-san on your way up to the summit.
This mountain attracts a decent crowd over the weekends so you’ll see a lot of people on your way up and down.

A beautiful mountain climb and definitely doable if you have a reasonable level of fitness. Catching the train from Tokyo to Isehara station and then a bus to the mountain, a short 10min walk to the cable car and then making about a 1-2 hike up the mountain you reach the top woth views of Mt fuji, the coast and tokyo (if you can see it with the smog). If you intend on doing this hike I suggest bringing some watch and some food. We did some shopping at the 7/11 at Isehara station before leaving.

There is a ropeway, but it took us about 90 minutes up a steep slope to the summit! It was by no means an easy journey. The westward route was extremely hard with rolling rocks! The eastbound route was relatively easy with paved stairs. From near the summit we could see the beautiful Mt. Fuji. In addition, from the summit station, if you go down the mountain without the ropeway, you get to enjoy some incredibly steep stairs! We were satisfied with our hard climbing. Also, the restaurant near the summit ropeway station was very good. And the souvenir shop at the base of the mountain was just as traditional and fabulous! Fantastic Place!!

Big shocker guys, in the winter there's no toilet for the entire hike starting for the shrine (shimosha), and the lopped trail by the book is at least 3 hours including break and photo. Scenary is awesome like most mountain and won't disappoint.
Also, the trail is quite old and for anyone with similar knee aches, I highly recommend going clockwise starting from shimosha, this way you'd come down with an easier trail that won't hurt your articulation as much.
Also, dears on these mountains are real. Remember to stay away and no feeding
Lake Okutama is a picturesque man-made reservoir nestled amidst the stunning mountains and verdant forests of Chichibu Tama National Park, making it a popular day trip destination from Tokyo. Definitely an must visit place if you are Japan. One of the beautiful places I visited. Prefered time to visit is autumn. You can get busses from Okutama station to Lake Okutama. The journey with mountains valleys and autumn colours will be amazing to see. Get down at the dam and spend sometime there. But the real view comes later take the bus from the dam again and get down at Ideno bus stop. This place seems like no where but if you walk a little 100m from the bus stop you can find a opening that will lead you down hill and directly to the bank of the lake. You can get the best view of Lake and the surrounding mountains from here. It was stony and dangerous but also exciting and thrilling.

I hiked up to the lake from Okutama station, took about 3 hours, then had lunch and a beer on the other side of the dam. The views were absolutely stunning!
I then ventured around the lake. My target was the pontoon bridge, which I reached after about 3 hours of walking. All flat, so not challenging, but I was already tired from the hike. I ran out of water about halfway through, and there was no opportunity to get some more, all of the taps along the way weren't fit for drinking. I think taking a 2 litre bottle should be enough for a hot day.
Last bus from near the temple is about 5:30 I think, so I was in a bit of a rush at the end, and unfortunately, I didn't get to explore the temple.
Still, keep an eye out for monkeys, the newborns can be spotted in late spring/early summer!

Good view and beautiful scenery especially in autumn. Need get a bus from okutama station about 20minutes top. Near the dam is also a museum with a restaurant in it.
Kazuma-no-yu is a hot spring facility that offers various baths, including indoor massage and jet baths, an indoor sauna, a large outdoor bath, and individual pot-style outdoor baths. It is located in the midst of nature and provides visitors with the opportunity to immerse themselves in the forest surroundings while enjoying the outdoor bath. The facility also features a cafeteria that has received high praise for its delicious and affordable food.
5 stars for the cafeteria and 3 star for the hot spring.
Cafeteria is super delicious and cheap, went beyond my expectations by so so much. Impressive! I strongly recommend people to eat here.
I came here by motorcycle, you can park here for free.
Onsen is just ok. Small, not many selection for 880 yen.

It snowed a little the day before, and on the way there, some roads were covered in frozen snow, which was scary😅
It looked like tattoos were allowed, but I don't think there was a single person there.I visited on a Sunday and it was pretty empty.
There are 3 types of indoor baths: cascading bath, jacuzzi, and jet.
The open air feels small and the pot bath has been discontinued.
The indoor bath had floating cypress trees and the temperature was just right.
The original towel was good. ¥300 It has the Hinohara village mascot character printed on it, and it's worth buying just for this 😁

Kazuma-no-Yu is a day-trip hot spring located in Kazuma, Hinohara Village, and was the first of its kind to open about 30 years ago.
It's over 30km from Musashi-Itsukaichi Station, so it's not a place that many people can get to right away, but it's not too crowded until around 3pm when the mountain hikers arrive.
The baths and facilities are small, but the hot springs are slightly slippery and the water is clean and great.
There is also a handmade restaurant using mushrooms grown in the village, and you can also buy local vegetables as souvenirs.
I haven't confirmed it, but I think it's higher than Tokyo Tower.

お風呂や施設も小さいですが少しぬるぬるする温泉はお湯もキレイで最高です。

There are 3 indoor baths connected, a small sauna that can accommodate 4 people, and a cold bath. There is one open-air bath and one lukewarm Goemon bath. I guess the changing and washing areas aren't that big either. It seemed like there were a lot of people there after climbing or hiking. For lunch, I ate maitake tempura and soba noodles. The maitake mushrooms were delicious, and it was my first time having chayote tempura, but it was very delicious.

Hinohara Tokyo Citizens' Forest, located on Mt Mito, is a forest therapy destination that offers various hiking routes through tranquil mountain woods. Visitors can experience the Japanese concept of forest bathing by immersing themselves in nature and relieving stress while soaking in the soothing sights and sounds. The Waterfall Course is recommended for those who want to try forest bathing. The park features hiking trails ranging from 0.9 to 7.
A beautiful and interesting forest of mixed trees including old beech trees, which are rare for the Kanto area. Accessibility is a factor in how appealing it will be for foreign visitors. There's a special rapid train on the Chuo Line that runs directly to Musashi-Itsukaichi station on weekends and holidays. Otherwise, transfer is required. From there, there is limited bus service to the forest -- only three buses in the a.m. But they run multiple buses to accommodate all the hikers April to November, so you're generally able to sit for the rather long and winding -- though scenic -- one-hour and about 900 yen ride. All those hikers seem to disappear somehow, though -- the trails are only moderately busy on big holidays and autumn leaf season. There are easy one-hour hikes and longer 4-5 hour moderately strenuous ones requiring proper footwear. At 1500 meters, it's also cooler and more prone to rain than Tokyo proper. There is a visitor center and two places to get food -- mostly typical noodles and curry. With a waterfall, various wildflowers and birds, a few good views, and fresh air, it's a nice place to experience nature if you're willing to put in the effort.

Located near the end of twisty Okutama road, the place serves as a rest area. They have a few shops, bus stops so that you can take a bus home if you wreck your car or bike :-) There're a couple of other parking along the way, and they would give you much more beautiful mountain and lake views, but they're much smaller and not paved.

Is it very profitable that 700 yen becomes 500 yen just by that?
The rest area is not so large and the bath room has less than 10 seats, but it is clean and open-air, so you can think of it as a luxurious version of a public bath.
It seems that many people use it on the way back and forth from the camp.

There are some roads along the way where cars can barely pass each other, but it is a straight road that is easy to understand.
There is a slope into the building.
100 yen coins are not required for shoe racks and changing lockers (designated).
The ticket vending machine accepts electronic money, and discounts are available for villagers, Yokohama citizens, and Oshino villagers.
Women's bath...10 wash areas with partitions, conditioner shampoo, body soap, hair dryer x 3.
There are two small indoor baths, one large and one small, with different temperatures.
It's a little hard to see the view if you don't stand up, but the open-air bath (half-covered) gives you a view of the Murokubo River, making you feel like you're inside a moat.
The clear water doesn't have much of an odor, but it feels smooth and soft.
Although it's small in size, you won't have to worry about eating and drinking, and there's plenty of rest space, so you can relax.

There is no sauna, no cold bath, and no drinking fountain, so there are no customers looking for the trendy sauna, and it is very comfortable. (In other words, I don't think it's wrong to think of it as a so-called ordinary hot spring.)

You can see the Doshi River and the surrounding forest from the indoor bath, and the forest from the outdoor bath. It feels good to cool off and relax in an open-air chair (it's like a sauna). It is also recommended that you temporarily take shelter when it rains while camping. There is also free WiFi, so you can take a break while watching You Tube or watching a movie. Hatsushima is a small resort island located in Shizuoka Prefecture, easily accessible from Tokyo by train and high-speed boat. It's a popular destination for daytrippers, offering activities such as snorkeling, diving, and picnicking. The island is known for its seafood eateries where visitors can enjoy fresh catches in a BBQ style at the Hatsushima Picnic Garden near the sea.
This is Shizuoka’s only inhabited island and it’s about two hours from Tokyo. 30 minutes by ferry from Atami port. It’s a beautiful little island with great views and delicious food. I enjoyed walking around and enjoying the scenery. I highly recommend visiting PICA, there you can relax on a hammock or take a dip in the “island bath”. There are also many beautiful flowers there when they are in season. Also on a clear day you can catch a great view of Mt. Fuji. Even though it’s small there’s a lot to do here like diving, fishing, hot spring, and etc. Check it out.

There is not much to do there, except enjoying the boat trip and refreshing breeze. There are few restaurants but you will mostly have to queue. I would not recommend to visit the island unless you have to kill time. Plan well you return to make sure you don’t wait too long for the next boat to return Atami.

Not worth being here unless you travelled all other places you can visit and nothing is left, or if you already have a reservation for scuba diving.
Many ppl were fishing here so maybe that’s the other option you will have here.
There are basically not much things you can do.
Limited number of restaurants benefiting the vested interests mostly being so rude to customers prevented me to even try queuing.
If you are starving and you are cool about arrogant restaurants, you can of course try queuing but ppl say there’s only a few restaurants serving good food so you will need to choose the longest queues (again, this is what I heard but not something I tasted and compared)
Speaking of scuba diving here, I did see some random fishes and the visibility (on September) was not bad.
Maybe joining an advanced group might even lead you to see some better stuff.
The dive shop I attended (located in Atami) was nice as the staffs were kind and friendly. To sum-up, for the scuba diving part, I’d say it’s good for training or maybe for relaxing underwater having a chill dive...but to this island, I don’t think I will visit again.

I tried fishing for horse mackerel and sardines, but after 5 hours of fishing, I didn't catch any fish. Those who were fishing with lures at the tip of the short breakwater were catching little by little.
Judging from the surroundings, both bait and lures are silent near the foot of the breakwater, so I think you can expect better results if you use a float and aim a little offshore when fishing for sabiki.
